Sam: We're too late.

Robin: No wait, hold on, there's Maxie. Maxie, have all the entrances to the tunnels been closed?

Maxie: Yeah. Jesse supervised.

Jesse: We called out for Jason. We checked and we double-checked. There was no answer. There was no sign of life. He was already gone.

Robin: I can't believe I lost Jason twice now because of Carly.

Jason: Sam.

Sam: Jason. Jason. Oh, God! Oh!  Is it really you? Oh, my God. I can't believe it. I feel like I'm -- I was so scared. I was so scared.

Jason: I'm sorry. I got back to you as fast as I could.

Sam: How did you get back? How did you find your way through the tunnel?

Jason: It's -- it's --

Sam: Oh, God.

Jason: It's a long story.

Sam: Oh!

Robin: Hey. Welcome back. We were worried about you.

Sam: Oh, God. I'm just so glad that you're alive.

Robin: I'd like to keep you that way. So are you ready to let me treat you now?

[Knock on door]

Emily: Sorry to bother you. I --

Sonny: No, no, no, I'm glad you came. I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how to tell Carly about Jason. Any progress she's made is going to go out the window when she finds out that Jason’s gone.

Carly: Look, you cannot give my appointment away, ok? That's right, I'm on my way. I will be there in 15 minutes.

Lainey: Going somewhere?

Courtney: Jax, what are you doing here?

Jax: I'm sorry, I think I left my cell phone somewhere on the couch. I think it fell out of my pocket.

Courtney: Well, that would explain why you didn't call. But next time --

Jax: I know, I got it.

Nikolas: That was different.

Courtney: What, Jax barging in? No, not really. I mean, he tends to forget that we're not a couple anymore.

Nikolas: No, I mean you didn't -- you didn't try to apologize or explain away the kiss.

Courtney: Why should I?

Nikolas: Well, do you care what he thinks?

Courtney: About us?

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Courtney: Not really.

Nikolas: So can I take that as a sign that you're willing to take a chance with me?

Driver: Home, Mr. Jacks?

Jax: No. Why don't you pull around the corner so I can keep an eye on the entrance. I want to see how long it takes Mr. Cassadine to leave.

Lesley Lu: Grandma hates me.

Lucky: That's not true.

Lesley Lu: Well, then she thinks I'm a burden, this wild thing that can't be controlled.

Elizabeth: Well, have you given her reason?

Lesley Lu: Possibly.

Lucky: Why don't you give us "for instance"?

Lesley Lu: I may have snuck out of the house once or twice.

Elizabeth: And?

Lesley Lu: Maybe I took grandma's car.

Lucky: You've been joyriding in our grandmother's car?

Lesley Lu: Grandma got mad, so she took me to the Quartermaines' to pawn me off on dad, but he wasn't having it.

Lucky: Oh, goodness.

Lesley Lu: Dad doesn't want me. He never has, in case anybody missed that.

Elizabeth: I have a hard time believing your father said those words.

Lesley Lu: Well, he did. I heard him myself. He -- dad told grandma flat out that he has no interest in being my father, and I'm not going to stay where I'm not wanted, so you were the first person that I thought of, Lucky, so that's why --

Lucky: Hey, hey, hey, don't -- don't cry. Come here. Come here. It's ok.

Luke: "Dear dad, go to hell."

[Tracy laughs]

Luke: Well, you got to give her points for clarity and economy.

Tracy: Tell the truth, you're as relieved as I am.

Luke: Well, yeah, the truth is she wouldn't have any fun here. She's better off at Lesley’s.

Skye: That's how you're going to rationalize this, say that you're protecting Lulu from not having any fun? I saw Lulu outside the door eavesdropping when Lesley was in here with you, Luke. Her attitude changed suddenly. What could she have heard?

Luke: I was telling Lesley why this living arrangement wouldn't work.

Sonny: A few years ago Jason took off for a while. He went traveling.

Emily: Yeah, I remember.

Sonny: It was an adjustment, both personally and professionally. But I always knew that if I -- you know, if I really needed him, all I had to do was pick up the phone.

Emily: And he'd come.

Sonny: Yeah.

Emily: No questions asked.

Sonny: But, you know, even in the last few months when, you know, he didn't remember his time with me, he always seemed reachable.

Emily: Yeah, things were starting to come back to him.

Sonny: I don't know how to deal in a world without him. I mean, he would always show me the reality of a thing, you know, that was floating around in my head. You see, I -- you don't know firsthand, but I -- sometimes I get confused, disoriented, paranoid, and Jason would always bring me back to earth.

Emily: Because you trust him.

Sonny: Yes, and that doesn't come easily to me, usually. You know when somebody tries to get close to me, I test them and I test them and I test them. And then I kind of don't stop until they prove me right by disappointing me. Jason never did that once. He never failed me once. Too bad I can't say the same.

Emily: Sonny, Jason loved you. You were his closest friend.

Sonny: I failed Jason by letting him stay in that collapsed tunnel, and I failed you because you lost the brother you loved.

Emily: Staying in that tunnel was Jason’s choice. He died doing exactly what he wanted. He wouldn't have had it any other way. And what he would want from us now is for us to go on and -- and take care of the people he loved -- you know, Sam, the kids.

Sonny: Carly -- I still -- I still don't know how I'm going to tell her Jason’s dead.

Lorenzo: Maybe you won't have to.

Carly: I was just, you know, sitting here. It's a beautiful night, and I was looking at the garden and thinking about taking a walk, maybe.

Lainey: Hmm. By way of the window?

Carly: I don't like using the hallways. Being around the other patients freaks me out, ok?

Lainey: Hmm. Well, we just got a really interesting call from the county sheriff. He said that he found a Roselawn gardener's truck at the train wreck site, no doubt stolen by the same person who's been climbing over the fence on the south end of the property. Hmm -- and the muddy south end of the property.

Carly: Fine. You caught me, ok? I'm sorry, but I had to go make sure Jason was ok. He was risking his life for me. Do you understand what that means?

Lainey: I really do admire your courage and your loyalty, Carly. But instead of climbing through windows and stealing vehicles and trying to rescue other people, you need to be focused on your own recovery. The ultimate goal is to get your life back.

Carly: You're right. You're right. I lost sight of the ultimate goal. I did.

Lainey: Well, realizing that is progress in itself. Try to get some sleep, Carly.

Carly: Lainey? Thanks -- for everything.  Hey. We got a change of plans.

Jason: I can't go to the hospital right now. I got to see Sonny.

Robin: Jason, if you don't let me treat you, you're not going to be any good to Sonny or anyone else.

Jason: I'm feeling better.

Sam: Yeah, the medication you gave him -- it worked.

Robin: It's going to wear off, Sam. I need to get him started on a full regimen right away.

Jason: It's going to have to wait.

Robin: Jason, it can't wait. We may already be out of time because you insisted on looking for Carly when she wasn't even there!

Jason: I appreciate where you're coming from, but I can't do this right now. I'll be right back.

Sam: Ok.

Robin: Sam, you got to work with me on this. I'm the only chance Jason’s got right now.

Courtney: You know, every day at my foundation I see the effects of broken homes on children, and, I don't know, maybe if I didn't go on that, I'd go on my own experience. You know, when my dad vanished out of my life, I mean, I was crushed. I don't --

Nikolas: Thank you.

Courtney: I don't want my child to have to go through that kind of pain, you know? Which is why I've been going back and forth, trying to make things work with Jax. You know, it just seemed like reconciliation was the right thing to do. But I realize that that's a mistake. You know, I don't want my child to grow up in a home with no love, and that's exactly what it would be, you know? I love you, Nikolas, and only you. So if you haven't lost your patience with me --

Lesley Lu: I'm just -- I'm so sick of all of dad's excuses. He's "staying out of my life for my own good," and he "would mess up everything if he didn't have mom to pull him back." I mean, those are all just ways of saying that I don't matter.

Lucky: Nobody knows better than me that our father isn't exactly doting but, you know, that doesn't mean he doesn't love us.

Lesley Lu: That is so easy for you to say. He does love you, Lucky. You're his son. You travel well. Dad doesn't want to be bothered with a kid that he can't take on his adventures. And now he's living at the Quartermaines' all high and mighty with a big maid waiting on him hand and foot. Why would he want the daughter that he never cared for showing up and messing up a good thing? You know what? I'm -- I'm done beating myself up over dad. I need a place to stay. Are you guys going to help me or not?

Lucky: You're my sister. Of course we'll be --

Elizabeth: Oh, Lulu, honey, you know what? You must be awfully hungry. Why don't you go down to the commissary and go ahead and get yourself something to eat, ok, while Lucky and I figure out what to do.

Lesley Lu: Thanks, Elizabeth. You're the best.

Elizabeth: Ok.

Lucky: What are you doing?

Elizabeth: I love your sister, you know I do, and my heart honestly breaks for her, but I know when we're being played.

[Phone rings]

Alice: Quartermaines'. Oh, hi. Yeah, he's right here, hold on. Mr. Luke? It's for you, it's Elizabeth.

Luke: Oh, thanks. What's up?

Elizabeth: Lulu's at the hospital with me and Lucky. She asked to move in with us.

Luke: Oh. Ok, thanks for the heads-up.

Elizabeth: Luke, we have a situation here. What do you want me to do?

Luke: Send her back to Lesley’s.

Elizabeth: But she says Lesley doesn't want her there anymore.

Luke: Well, you two can't take on something like this. You've got enough on your plates as it is. Just tell her to go back to her grandmother’s. They'll work it out. What do you want from me?

Skye: Well, that shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I want you to start acting like a grownup and go after your daughter.

Luke: And do what, exactly?

Skye: Accept responsibility for the child you made.

Sonny: What do you want, Alcazar?

Lorenzo: I think it's possible that Jason could have survived.

Sonny: You came here to tell me that?

Lorenzo: And that I'm making all my resources available to go back into the tunnel to search for him. The authorities appear to have given up.

Sonny: Well, you don't give a damn about finding Jason. You just want to, you know, look like the big hero in Carly’s eyes when she's at her most vulnerable, grieving over the loss of someone who she cared about more than you.

[Door closes]

Emily: Oh, my God. Jason. Hi. Hi. Hi!

Lorenzo: Lazarus rises yet again.

Sonny: You ok?

Jason: Yeah, for the most part.

Sonny: You?

Sam: Relieved.

Sonny: Yeah, me, too.

Emily: We thought you were gone. We --

Sonny: How did -- how'd you get out of the tunnel?

Jason: Sonny, that can wait. We got trouble.

Nikolas: Listen, I love you. I'm committed to you and your baby. But you know having what we want isn't necessarily going to be that easy. You know, I mean, you have to be prepared. Jax isn't just going to accept this and move on.

Courtney: Yeah. I'm sure he'll be hurt and disappointed.

Nikolas: Yeah, furious, vindictive -- all of that.

Courtney: Well, then let him bring it, you know? I mean, all -- all I can do is tell him what's in my heart, and hopefully in time, you know, he'll see what's best for the baby is for the two of us to live happy and fulfilled lives.

Nikolas: Ok.

Courtney: But you need to leave.

Nikolas: I'm sorry, did I say something wrong?

Courtney: No, I'm going to call Jax and have him come back, ok? The sooner we get all this out in the open the better.

Nikolas: Well, come on, let me stay. We'll tell him together.

Courtney: I need --

Nikolas: Please?

Courtney: To do this on my own.

Nikolas: Ok, fine, fine. Call me?

Courtney: I will, as soon as I'm done.

Nikolas: Ok.

Courtney: Bye.

Nikolas: Bye.

Driver: You know, when I first started driving you, it never occurred to me that surveillance would be one of my duties.

Jax: Well, I'll have to pay you extra.

Driver: No, you pay me plenty. Looks like Cassadine’s leaving.

[Phone rings]

Jax: It's Jax.

Courtney: Where are you?

Jax: Just on my way to a construction site. Is everything ok?

Courtney: Yeah, I just -- I need to see you. How soon can you come back here?

Jax: Be right there.

Lucky: That's what dad said? "Take her back to Lesley’s" like she's a fruitcake at Christmas that nobody wants? I don't see how we can turn her away.

Elizabeth: And I don't see how we can take her in. We wouldn't be doing Lulu any favors. Honey, she needs guidance, she needs supervision, and between taking care of Cameron and the amount of hours we both put in, she wouldn't have either. And not to mention she would have so much unsupervised time. Who's to say what type of trouble she'd get into?

Lucky: That's a good point. It's just not fair. I mean, Lulu's been getting the short end of the stick since the day she was born. I got the best that my dad had to offer, and I had my mom while I was growing up. Lulu -- she just -- she's had nobody.

Elizabeth: I know, I know, but overcompensating by letting her dictate where she's going to live is not going to help the situation, ok?

Lesley Lu: So, when do I move in?

Skye: Lulu's testing boundaries and she's testing you. You need to step up and show you actually care.

Luke: Blaze, how do you know what's going on inside my kid's head, for God's sake?

Skye: Oh, Luke, do you ever listen to me when I talk to you? I have told you I have been where Lulu is. I tried to pull every obnoxious stunt I could to get a reaction out of the people who supposedly loved me. Now, you're her father. She deserves more from you.

Luke: Like everybody else in this miserable world, she's just going to have to deal with what life gave her. I'm the lousy hand she got; I'm the lousy hand she's going to have to play. I never wanted to be father of the year. She was Laura’s project, I had nothing to do with raising her, and it's much too late to start now.

Dillon: That is such a crock. I never met my father. If Paul Hornsby walked right through that door right now and punched me in the face, I wouldn't know any better. But I think about him -- why I didn't matter, why he never even bothered to check and see if I'm alive. You know, you're this really cool guy.  You're, like, the king of all rebels, and I'll tell you, I've respected you since the first day that I met you. But the way that you treat your daughter, your own flesh and blood -- you know what that makes you? King of fools, Luke. King of fools.

Jason: Has there been an update on Manny? Is he alive? What's going on?

Sonny: They got him to the hospital, saved his life. Ok, don't ask me why. He managed to escape. But you know what? How far can he get? You hurt him pretty bad.

Jason: Yeah, not bad enough. Look, I'm worried about Carly. I'm afraid that she's going to make herself an easy target. She's already figured out how to get in and out of Roselawn. She's treating that place like a hotel.

Sonny: Well, it sounds like she's back to her old self. That's good.

Jason: No, it's not good. Not right.

Sonny: What do you mean, "not good"? You all right?

Sam: Hey, hey, hey, hey. You in pain? Another headache?

Jason: Yeah.

Emily: Haven't you been checked out by a doctor?

Sam: Well, Robin begged Jason to start her experimental drug treatment, but --

Sonny: You came here first. Consider me warned. You need to take care of yourself, Jason.

Emily: Jase, please, just listen to him. Let Robin help you. Do it for the people who love you.

Woman: Hey.

Carly: Hey!

Woman: Hey.

Carly: Hi, guys! Come on in! Thanks. You can just get the door.  All right, people. You guys are the best in the business. You know why you're here. You need to make me fabulous. I only got one chance at this.

Robin: I was so relieved when you called and said you were coming. I was scared that you wouldn’t. Thank you for agreeing to do this. Ok. First up, the treatment is experimental, so I need you to sign this release form.

Jason: What should I expect?

Robin: First, I'll start you on an I.V. drip. You'll become sleepy, a little disoriented, but that just means that the medication's working.

Jason: I don't want restraints. I --

Robin: Jason, I'm sorry, it's not an option. We have to use them for your protection. Ok, I'll be right back.

Sam: I know that you must hate this. And I want you to know that if I could do it for you, I would in a second.

Jason: I know.

Sam: Just remember, when this procedure or whatever is over and your seizures and your headaches -- they go away, and you get well again -- we can focus on our future together.

Jason: Yeah, there's something I need to ask you before -- before all this happens.  Will you marry me?

Carly: Wow, you guys are amazing. I'm beginning to look like me.

Sonny: Got some good news.

Michael: Mm-hmm?

Sonny: Jason's fine.

Michael: I could tell you were worried about him.

Sonny: Oh, yeah, well, you know, he -- a lot of people thought he wasn't going to get out of that tunnel. But you know what?

Michael: What?

Sonny: He did.

Michael: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: But he's still not quite fine, so you still need to pray for him, ok?

Michael: He's one of the first people that I pray for -- you know, after you and Morgan and mom. She seems to be a lot better. When can we visit again?

Sonny: What do you mean?

Michael: Mr. Alcazar took us.

Sonny: To Roselawn?

Michael: Yeah.

Sonny: Really? Ok -- here -- I'm going to call the doctors and check to see when you guys can visit, ok? And -- but in the meantime, you'd better get upstairs and go to sleep, ok?

Michael: Ok.

Leticia: Ahem. Yeah, come on, guys.

Sonny: I'll be up to say good night, all right?

Michael: Ok.

Sonny: Ok.

Lainey: Dr. Winters.

Sonny: Why wasn't I told that Alcazar brought my kids to Roselawn? What is that predator doing anywhere near Carly?

Lainey: Lorenzo Alcazar is still technically Carly’s husband.

Sonny: Ok, is there something going on over there that I don't know about? Lainey?

Lainey: Carly's been sneaking out, but we've addressed the matter. She understands that breaking the rules is counterproductive and undermines her treatment. The situation is under control.

Sonny: Don't bet on it.

Carly: It's showtime.

Sam: I know you don't remember this, but I already agreed to marry you.

Jason: I just -- I just need to hear you say it again you know, so I can carry it with me into -- to whatever happens.

Jason: I want to spend my life with you, whatever that turns out to be. And I can't make any of the promises that I should. I don't know if we're going to be able to have kids or how many years we're going to have to spend together, but I do know I will love you for as long as I live.

Sam: All of my life I have been chasing for something that was so out of reach. And then I found you. It was you. Yes. Yes, I will marry you.

Jason: I -- I bought it for you when you were in Manhattan. I was going to give it to you when you got back and -- and tell you that I was going to have the treatments.

Sam: You had my engagement ring with you in that tunnel?

Jason: Yeah. When I woke up after the explosion, it was dark and quiet, and I knew that I was trapped. I was just lying there for a minute trying to figure out what to do, but then I felt this ring box, and I remembered that I had to give it to you.

Sam: No one would understand this. But you are the most romantic man that I have ever met in my entire life.

Singer: Leave me wondering baby, it's just you and me we got a thing they can't shake maybe it's a little hard sometimes

Jason: Is it ok?

Singer: But I'll tell you something

Sam: Yeah.

Singer: It's a life worth living

Sam: It's beautiful.

Singer: I wouldn't give it up, no

Sam: It's exactly what I would have picked. I promise to love you, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, for as long as we live.

Jason: For richer or for poorer, for better, for worse -- in sickness --

Singer: Baby, it's just you and me

Jason: And health --

Singer: We got a thing we can't shake

Sam: Yeah.

Singer: And maybe it's a little hard

Jason: With all that I am --

Singer: Sometimes to take but I'll tell you something

Jason: And all that I have.

Singer: It's a life worth living

Jason: I love you.

Robin: I'm sorry, I know that this is difficult, but I have to put on the restraints now.

Jason: Are they -- are they really necessary?

Robin: Not taking this precaution would be really irresponsible.

Sam: I don't understand. What do you expect Jason to do?

Robin: We don't want him walking around in a semiconscious, dreamlike state with his body full of a powerful drug. I have to be able to control the situation.

Jason: All right. But let Sam do it.

Sam: I'm going to stay right here, ok? I'm not going to go anywhere. I love you. I love you so much.

Lainey: I don't agree with this visit, Sonny. It'll only upset Carly and cause a setback.

Sonny: But you -- but it's all right for Alcazar to see her, to fill her head with a bunch of garbage?

Lainey: I wish you'd do this my way. I think I had a real breakthrough with Carly tonight.

Sonny: What happened?

Lainey: I made her understand that the road to recovery is long and it's hard and it demands her entire focus. She was very reasonable.

Sonny: Yeah, let me give you just a little word of advice. When Carly seems reasonable, it usually means she's shining you on.

Woman: Hello.

Sonny: Where's Carly?

Woman: Oh, she said it was showtime and left.

Lucky: Lulu, moving in with us just wouldn't work.

Lesley Lu: No, but I -- I wouldn't be any trouble. I would carry my own weight. I'll help Elizabeth clean up, and you guys would have a built-in babysitter. Think of all the money you guys would save. I would love the chance to get to know my new little nephew. Please, you guys, I cannot go back to grandma’s.

Elizabeth: I think we should just arrange a family meeting, sit down with Lesley, find a way to work things out. I -- you just -- it'll just take a little compromise from the both of you.

Lesley Lu: That's never going to happen. Grandma barely lets me go to the mailbox. I feel like -- she is just so overprotective, I feel like I can't even breathe in that house. Please. You guys are my only hope. Oh, maybe not. I am so happy to see you. I -- it's like a sign. I need a place to stay. Can I move in with you at Wyndermere?

Nikolas: Whoa, whoa, slow down -- slow down a little bit. I think Lesley might have a thing or two to say about this.

Lesley Lu: Oh, grandma doesn't want me. She dragged me over to the Quartermaines' to pawn me off on dad and he didn't want me, either. Lucky and Elizabeth don't have enough room, so I've got nowhere to go.

Nikolas: I -- ok, yeah, sure, you can stay with me.

Luke: When hell freezes over.

Jax: Listen, before you say anything, I just want to apologize if I seemed abrupt earlier. I was a little thrown, you know, to see you and Nikolas together. I should have known that he wouldn't give up so easily, but I'm sure you told him that you're going to do what's best for the baby.

Courtney: Yeah -- I am, Jax, but it's probably not what you expect.

Jax: Well, what else could you mean except, you know, two parents raising their child?

Courtney: When Nikolas came by -- I mean, he told me that he loves me, Jax, and I --

Jax: And you fell into a pattern because of the things that I've said and done.

Courtney: Look, I love Nikolas.

Jax: You're my wife. Ok? That's my baby.

Courtney: Yeah, but Jax, I don't want to raise our child in a loveless home, and if you want what's right for our son or daughter, you won't, either.

Jax: I still love you, Courtney. I don't think we should just walk away from that. I think we should stand and fight for our marriage.

Courtney: There's nothing left to fight for. Our marriage is over.

Robin: Ok, looks good.

Sam: He's asleep.

Robin: Sam, you need to know what we'll be facing.

Sam: Ok. I had a feeling you weren't telling us everything.

Robin: Jason will be in and out of consciousness for the next few days. He'll be weak and disoriented, there'll be a lot of brain activity.

Sam: Ok, from what, dreams?

Robin: Or memories, subconscious thoughts and desires coming up. It could get intense.

Sam: Thank you for the warning.

Robin: You're here.

Jason: Where else would I be?

Robin: With these boxcars left? I'm not sure.

Jason: Robin --

Michael: Dad!

Sonny: Hey.

Michael: Look -- mom's home. Doesn't she look beautiful?

Carly: Are you going to come kiss me hello?

>> On the next "General Hospital --

Jax: You want a divorce.

Courtney: Yeah.

Jax: You don't get to make that decision.

Sonny: What's going on here?

Carly: I was released -- for good.

Michael: Aren't you glad mom's home?

Sam: Jason's calling.

Robin: Jason?

Sam: What is happening?
