Jax: I wanted to set a few things straight between us.
Courtney: I guess it is time to get everything out in the open.
Courtney: Come in.
Emily: What makes you think leaving Port Charles will give you what you want?
Jason: I don't know, but I can't remember anything. There's nothing to keep me here. Look, I'm sorry that you've been through, you know, a bad situation, and from what you've said, I'm the one that you used to depend on.
Jason: I can't be that person anymore. I have to leave.
Emily: Jase, I'd never ask you to stay for me. But would you think about staying for yourself?
Sonny: I can't do this. I can't leave Carly here.
Lainey: You don't really have a choice.
Sonny: Watch me. I'm taking Carly home.
Jax: The night I found out that Elizabeth lost the baby, you were there for me. You were very kind.
Courtney: Well, I knew what you were going through, the pains.
Jax: And also when I found out that I wasn't the father of Sam’s baby, you were there for me then, too. Always seems to be about children with us, doesn't it? Anyway, I don't know if you believe in karma or not, but I think it's time to set mine straight.
Courtney: Jax, you don't have to.
Jax: No, I really do, because I never thought that I could treat a woman the way I treated you.
Courtney: Well, I think that there's plenty of blame to go around.
Jax: I'm not saying that I excuse what happened, you know, the damage that was done to our marriage and to me personally, but the way I reacted -- that was the reaction of an angry, bitter man, and I don't want to be that guy. I want us to try to move on and put what happened behind us.
Emily: I'm your sister. Jase, I love you, and nothing would make me happier than knowing that you're out of danger. But deep in my heart, I still believe that one day you're going to remember everything -- who you are, who you cared about. It's all going to come rushing back, and when it does, I don't want you to regret this decision to leave now.
Jason: I can't live my life waiting for my memory to come back.
Emily: Jason, I don't know if you know this, but Sonny is living his worst nightmare. He told me that he's putting the mother of his children, a woman that you cared so much about, in a mental hospital.
Jason: After what she did to you, Emily, it's clearly where she needs to be. She needs help right now.
Emily: It goes deeper than that. Sonny's had breakdowns. He's had mental problems of his own. Ok, and besides Carly, it was you who helped him, Jason, who covered for him and protected him. And he's dealing with Carly’s illness, and at the same time the Ruiz family is ready to pounce.
Jason: I know, but the way things are right now, if I help, I could just make things worse for everyone.
Emily: Sonny's support system is in shambles, Jason. I'm at a loss of what to do for him.
Jason: It's his life, it's his family, it's his business. I can't do what Sonny wants me to do. Look, I just wanted to say that -- you know, thank you for everything, and I hope you're out of here soon.
Emily: Jason? When the day comes that you remember everything, I hope it's not going to be too late.
Sonny: I can take care of Carly myself.
Lainey: How's that working for you so far, Sonny? You've done everything but lock Carly up in the attic, but she still managed to put Emily in the hospital.
Sonny: That was an accident. She believed that, you know, Emily was Faith Rosco.
Lainey: Sonny, no, that wasn't an accident. That was a paranoid hallucination, and with the next one she might not be able to stop herself in time. Tell me what you want for Carly, Sonny. When all of this is over, what's your hope?
Sonny: I just -- I want her to be herself again.
Sonny: All right?
Lainey: Well, then this is the best chance. I mean, this is a nurturing environment with caring with caring professionals. Honestly, I cannot think of a better place for a woman in Carly’s condition.
Sonny: I promised. I just promised I would not put her away.
Lainey: Well, then you made a mistake. The promise should have been that you would get her well no matter what.
Sonny: You don't understand. I swore this would never happen.
Lainey: Don't make this about your failure, Sonny. If Carly needed a new heart, would you perform the surgery? You know I'm right or else you wouldn't be here.
Sonny: I don't want her to hurt anybody or herself.
Lainey: I know. And you're doing the right thing, ok? You stay focused on what's good for Carly. Your ex-wife has a medical condition that requires professional help. You love her enough to let her get it.
Sonny: All right, we'll try it, you know, but I'm not going to just disappear. I've got to say goodbye to Carly.
Carly: Dr. Kim, this is my ex-husband and father of my children.
Dr. Kim: We've met. I've assured Mr. Corinthos that we'll take very good care of you.
Sonny: How do you like the doctor?
Carly: He's fine.
Sonny: Yeah? Listen --
Carly: Sonny, could you take me back to my room? I just -- I don't think I can be alone. Yeah?
Monica: How are you?
Monica: I heard you got a job at the docks.
Jason: Yeah, crane operator. I actually liked it, but I'm not staying.
Monica: Why not?
Jason: Well, you know, Sam and I, we're leaving town. I just kind of need a clean break from whatever my life was before.
Monica: That's what you came to tell me?
Jason: Yeah. And you have been good to me. It would have been so easy for you to be like Alan, but you respected me, and I just want to thank you for that.
Monica: I'll always respect you. And I'm going to miss you. I'm going to miss you terribly. But I've always just wanted for you to be safe, to be away from the violence and the bloodshed. So where you going to go?
Jason: I -- I shouldn't really say anything because --
Monica: Oh, no, you shouldn’t. No, that's right. Safety's sake, yeah. But you've got to promise me something -- you'll stay on your medication? And wherever you and Sam end up, you find a doctor that you are secure with, you have them get in touch with me, and I will forward your files, ok?
Jason: We'll see.
Monica: No, Jason, please promise me. Promise me you'll take care of yourself.
Jason: I am. That's why I'm getting out while I can.
Monica: I love you. And I am glad. I'm really glad that you and Sam are going to have a chance to build a life on your own terms. After everything you've been through, you certainly deserve that.
Jason: Thank you.
Javier: In the interest of full disclosure, we're about to make our move on Sonny Corinthos.
Lorenzo: At the risk of repeating myself, what you do is none of my business. I agreed to stay out of it which means we have nothing further to discuss.
Javier: Lorenzo, if you think Sonny and I are going to cancel each other out, leave the door open for you to walk in and take over, that would be a mistake.
Lorenzo: What we're talking about here is last man standing.
Javier: And that's going to be me. Tonight Sonny loses his last line of defense. The rest is easy.
Skye: Lorenzo, darling. You didn't tell me that Mr. Ruiz would be joining us this evening. May I call you Javier? I feel as if I know you so well.
Javier: I don't believe we've met.
Lorenzo: Javier Ruiz, Skye Quartermaine.
Skye: Lorenzo's mistress.
Courtney: There were so many things that went wrong on both sides. As long as you know I never -- I never set out to hurt you, Jax.
Jax: Yeah, but I did hurt you.
Courtney: But you also taught me a lot, too.
Jax: That revenge isn't all that?
Courtney: Well, you also taught me that good things come when you least expect them.
Jax: You know, everyone's been so concerned with Elizabeth and me over the baby --
Courtney: As they should be.
Jax: But I haven't forgotten that you lost a baby, too.
Courtney: Thank you.
Jax: I'd really like us to forget the ugliness and try to remember the reasons why we cared about each other. You know, you started by helping me the other night as a friend. I owe you at least as much.
[Knock on door]
Mike: Hey, honey.
Mike: Why can't you just leave my daughter alone?
Sonny: Nice color, huh?
Carly: Yeah. Yeah, it makes me feel warm.
Sonny: When you wake up in the morning, you've got a beautiful garden.
Carly: I know, I know. There's a hummingbird feeder right outside the window.
Sonny: You just love those hummingbirds.
Carly: I know. I watch them from Michael’s room. I love the way the alpha male chases off all the other birds. I love the way that he only lets the family, his mate and his babies, near the feeder. He makes sure that they're taken care of. He's ferocious about it.
Sonny: I'm sorry. I promised that I'd --
Carly: Oh, yeah, promises. People break promises all the time. You know, what are you going to do?
Sonny: If there's anything you need, anything you want --
Carly: You know what I want, Sonny.
Sonny: The boys need their mother to be well. And I got something to remind you of that. I ordered it a couple weeks ago. It's a -- it's a charm thing. It's for each of our sons, Michael and Morgan, but what I wanted is for you to put in on your wrist so that way when you look at it --
Carly: I love this bracelet.
Sonny: Well, you know --
Carly: Will you tell Michael and Morgan that I love them, too?
Sonny: Let the doctors help you, ok? You do that for me, ok?
Carly: And Sonny. I love you.
Sonny: I love you. Ok.
Courtney: Daddy, don't worry.
Mike: Haven't you done enough damage, Jax? Do you need to kick my daughter in the teeth again?
Courtney: We just -- we were talking things through, dad, it's ok.
Mike: Well, that's great, that's great. Talk about how he dragged you through the mud, called you a liar, and God knows what else. So what's the plan tonight, Jax, blackmail or out-and-out threats?
Courtney: Daddy, please stop.
Jax: No, your dad's right. I did -- I did behave badly.
Mike: Oh, you bet you did.
Jax: And I've apologized to Courtney and she's been kind enough to cut me some slack, and I'm hoping that you will do the same.
Mike: Why? Because you're such a standup guy? You knew how much my daughter wanted to be a mother, and then what do you? You dangle the promise of a baby in front of her and then you pull out the rug. You are a coward.
Courtney: Dad, stop. Elizabeth miscarried. She lost the baby.
Mike: Oh, my God.
Jax: I think we can all agree that we've suffered enough, so thanks for hearing me out.
Courtney: I'll see you soon.
Mike: I'm sorry, sweetheart.
Courtney: No, it's -- it's just been really hard on everyone.
Mike: Yeah, but even so, I'm impressed with your generosity. I mean, the way that Jax has treated you is --
Courtney: Jax may be the father of my baby.
Skye: You've visiting us from Miami, aren't you, Javier? Oh, I just love that part of the country. South Beach is my favorite -- the eating and the shopping and ending the evening salsa dancing with the one you adore. Hmm, what more could a girl ask for? Do you salsa, Javy?
Lorenzo: It's Javier.
Skye: Oh, I bet you do under that long, lean look. You know what you should do? I'll tell you what you should do. You should open a salsa club right here in Port Charles -- once you get rid of that Sonny Corinthos. That man is so old school. No, we need to liven up this burg a little bit.
Lorenzo: Skye is a beautiful woman with a very overactive imagination.
Skye: Oh. You never seemed to mind that before, cupcake.
Javier: I'd watch the pillow talk, cupcake. You might find yourself not sleeping well at all.
Skye: Oh. I think he likes me.
Lorenzo: Do you have a death wish, or is it me you're trying to have killed?
Skye: You want me to shut up? Tell me where to find Luke.
Lainey: Sorry I'm late. I was checking your client's ex-wife in at Roselawn.
Justus: Did you clear that with John Durant?
Lainey: Is this going to be an issue between us? Just tell me now and I'll leave, save us both from wasting time.
Justus: I just can't believe you would call the D.A.
Lainey: I called Carly’s father. The fact that Durant is also the D.A. is an unfortunate coincidence. I'm not going to apologize for doing what's best for my patient.
Justus: It was a breach of a violation of trust --
Lainey: I saw a train wreck happening and I had to do something. Carly was dangerous. Apparently, Sonny agrees with me.
Justus: Sonny ran out of options.
Lainey: Sonny was the one who brought her to Roselawn. He checked her in himself.
Justus: How'd it go?
Lainey: It was heartbreaking. Carly was calm. She seemed to accept the inevitable.
Justus: Carly? Was she medicated?
Lainey: It was as if she wanted help but she didn't know how to ask for it. You know, it's not uncommon for a patient to feel a sense of relief when their burden is lifted; when they don't have to work so hard to appear normal.
Justus: You would know what it's like, wouldn't you, I mean, as a patient and everything?
Javier: I don't care if Morgan says he wants out. When we move, he's going to step up for Corinthos, and I don't need that kind of trouble.
Man: You gave him his chance, boss.
Javier: And he didn't have the sense to take me up on it, so tonight we're going to take him out.
Jason: I was just with Emily.
Sonny: How's she feeling?
Jason: She's scared, mostly for you. Yeah, she told me what happened with your ex-wife, that you had to put Carly in that -- that place.
Sonny: At least I got to walk out. She's stuck there. The one thing I promised her after everything, you know, that she helped me -- you can imagine how difficult this is for both -- or maybe you can’t. I don't know. It's just you would have been very proud of Carly, the way she stood up. It's the most terrifying thing for her.
Jason: You should know Ruiz isn't backing down.
Sonny: On that cheerful note --
Jason: He came to see me tonight. He asked me to work for him. Actually, he tried -- he tried to force me.
Sonny: Well, he's a smart man. He knows a good man when he sees one. What did you say?
Jason: No way in hell.
Sonny: Be careful. You don't want him to get the idea that, you know, you want to come back and work for me.
Courtney: You know, of course I didn't believe the pregnancy test. I mean, how could I get pregnant, right? I mean, I can't carry a child myself. If I had thought miracles were possible, I mean, why would I have gone through this whole surrogacy?
Mike: Wait. What happened?
Courtney: Dr. Meadows said to start believing in miracles. Daddy, it wasn't motion sickness I was feeling. It was morning sickness. And now I have got this little life growing inside me and -- oh, God. You know, poor Elizabeth, she's mourning the baby she conceived for me. It's just so, so beautiful and cruel at the same time.
Mike: This is unbelievable.
Courtney: It's probably Nikolas' baby. But there is a chance that Jax could be the father.
Mike: So what did Jax say when you told him? You didn’t. You didn't, and we all know how well keeping these things secret has worked out in the past.
Courtney: Daddy, I can't say anything to either of them until I know for certain. Look, Jax is completely torn up over losing this baby that Elizabeth was carrying. I can't just get his hopes up on the outside chance.
Mike: "Out-- outside chance"? Honey, this isn't a horserace. Your life is a wreck, and now you're having a baby. I mean, one of those men has to step up to the plate.
Courtney: I don't even know what Nikolas will do, ok? I just saw him with Emily today, and they're still tied to each other. You know, Nikolas isn't even sure if he wants to be a father after his own childhood. He's not sure he wants to pass on that legacy. And there's a -- there's a pretty good chance that I am going to be raising this baby on my own.
Mike: You think that Jax will allow that? You saw the way he was --
Mike: When Elizabeth was pregnant.
Courtney: I know, ok, I know. It tore us to pieces. I just -- I don't want to deal with that right now.
Mike: Deal with it? Honey, you already started by letting him reach out to you today.
Courtney: As a friend, that's it.
Mike: "As a friend"? Ok. Call it what you want, but you know that Jax will not walk away from that baby if it's his.
Lorenzo: Luke's been gone for weeks. And yet you pick this moment to play with fire just to find out where he is.
Skye: I suddenly got very lonely.
Lorenzo: No, there's more to it than that. You're playing a very dangerous game, Skye, on two fronts. One, you just painted a target on your back for the Miami Mob. And, two, you called yourself my mistress. Why is that?
Skye: Got your attention, didn't I?
Lorenzo: Yeah, I suspect that's what you wanted. Why didn't you just come to me and tell me what was in your heart instead of exposing that very lovely neck of yours to Javier?
Skye: You know very well what's in my heart.
Lorenzo: You miss Luke.
Lorenzo: You want him back.
Lorenzo: You need him now more than ever.
Skye: You know me so well.
Lorenzo: To be a buffer.
Skye: Exactly. Huh?
Lorenzo: Between you and me, because while you may want Luke, you want me, too, and that terrifies you.
Justus: There was something you said at Sonny's that got me intrigued.
Lainey: And so you decided to investigate me, as opposed to simply asking me outright?
Justus: Lainey, I'm counsel to the most powerful man in Port Charles. When somebody becomes intimately involved in his life, it's incumbent upon me to do my research.
Lainey: So what did this research reveal?
Justus: It showed that once you graduated high school, before you went to college, you spent some time at a mental institution.
Lainey: And does this revelation somehow disqualify me from being in the orbit of the most powerful man in Port Charles?
Justus: On the contrary, it shows that you had an unfortunate situation in your life and you turned it into something positive. I think it shows great character.
Lainey: Oh, so I suppose next you're going to tell me not to take it personally?
Justus: Take what?
Lainey: That you dug around in my past, looking for God knows what behind my back.
Justus: Lainey, I was digging around for anything. It's no big deal. It was a straightforward background check.
Lainey: It was a power play, Justus, designed to keep me at a disadvantage and to give you leverage, and it was manipulative and it was arrogant. And in case you're wondering, no, this date isn't going well.
Sonny: When are you leaving?
Sonny: Tonight. Sam going with you?
Jason: Yeah, she's -- she's the only thing that makes any sense to me.
Sonny: Sam's good for you.
Jason: Look, I'm sorry that, you know, you're going through a bad time. Emily's convinced that I'm going to regret leaving.
Sonny: You've always, you know, figured out what's going on in your mind, you know, even when you didn't remember. Well, I appreciate the heads-up on Javier, you know? Apparently, he's going to try to take away what I've worked my life for, and I really don't know how to stop him at this point. More bloodshed.
Jason: If that's the only language he understands, what else can you do?
Sonny: Yeah. Javier's a dangerous man, but not as dangerous as his brother, Manuel, the one you put in the hospital. He's a lowlife, spent too much time in prison. It poisoned him. He doesn't appreciate the good things in life like the, you know, crack of a bat at a baseball game, listening to children laughing, or the love of a good woman. Because, you know, that's all that really matters in life. It's what makes everything worth it. But you have that, I mean, with Sam and you trust her. She listens to what you have to say. I used to have that.
Jason: With Carly?
Sonny: I'm going to miss her. Anyway, good luck, ok?
Jason: I don't remember, but I can tell you'd be a really good friend to have.
Sonny: So would you, Jason.
Jason: You know, Sonny, you know, I made my choice knowing nothing. At least you can remember what you're fighting for.
Justus: Think about this, Lainey -- if I wanted to dig up dirt on you, I would do it without you knowing, and if I wanted power and leverage, I would spring it on you at a time when you'd least expect it.
Lainey: Well, in case you hadn't noticed, this is what surprise looks like. Consider me sprung.
Justus: This is not how I work.
Lainey: Ok, so convince me you didn't want personal information.
Justus: Not in the way that you think. Ok, look, obviously I'm interested in you, ok? You're beautiful, you're smart, you have a mind that absolutely fascinates me.
Lainey: That's what we call conversation, Justus. You ask what school I went to, I ask what sports you played. That's how you get to know someone you're interested in.
Justus: All right, I'll admit I've never really been good at small talk. I like to cut to the chase.
Lainey: That's too bad. You miss half the fun -- the discovery, the common ground. And honestly, you really did put me at a disadvantage. I know virtually nothing about you.
Justus: Well, let me help you out. I went to Penn State. I played lacrosse. I've been engaged once, I love fast cars, I'm passionate about music.
Lainey: Lacrosse? Are you serious?
Justus: I never said I was good at it. You want to talk about it?
Lainey: You know, it's nothing I'm ashamed of. It was just a painful time. I was a young girl and, you know, life was confusing.
Justus: Is that why you chose the profession you did?
Lainey: I met some really amazing people who gave me some great help, and I was moved to pay it forward. If I could help a girl like me or anybody, you know, get ahold of their life, I'd be giving a great gift.
Justus: It's obvious you're very good at what you do.
Lainey: Thank you, Justus. And let me tell you, if you ever root around in my past again without my knowledge, I will drop-kick you in the lake. Cheers.
Skye: You need to get over yourself, Lorenzo, ok? The only thing I want from you is Luke’s location.
Lorenzo: The lady doth protest too much.
Skye: Doth not! There are far too many strikes against you.
Lorenzo: Name three.
Skye: Well, you're too dangerous and you're rebounding from a painful, failed marriage.
Lorenzo: You're coming up short.
Skye: And I am not the least bit attracted to you, ok?
Lorenzo: Hmm. See, but I was there when we kissed, and your lips belie your words.
Skye: Oh, you leave my lips out of this, ok?
Lorenzo: You know, I wish I could, but they're my proof.
Skye: Don't you even think about kissing me. Don't you --
Lorenzo: I rest my case.
Skye: Lorenzo? What about Luke?
Lorenzo: Oh, Luke is fine. He'll be back soon. And you're going to have to make up your mind.
Bellhop: Mr. Spencer? Mr. Spencer, I have the items you requested.
Michael: It's called Roselawn, huh? That's a funny name.
Sonny: It's a nice place, Mike. Mama likes it. I mean, the people are -- you know, she likes the people, and she's even got a hummingbird feeder outside her window.
Michael: Like mine? So how long is she going to stay in there for?
Sonny: Well, until the doctors, you know, say she can come home.
Michael: Well, is she locked up?
Sonny: It's not like that, Mike. You know, it's more like a cottage.
Michael: Like in the mountains when we were on vacation?
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, a lot like that.
Michael: Ok. She needed to get away, huh?
Sonny: Yeah, I'm afraid she did. But there's good news. I know that mama is not here and that you miss her, but you don't have to live in the guesthouse anymore. You can come back here and live with me, you and Morgan. I need you guys because we need to take care of each other and -- you know what I mean? I mean, because mama's not going to be here and it's going to take a little while for her to come back.
Michael: So what about Jason? Isn't he going to help us?
Sonny: Well, Jason and Sam are going to go away for a little while. Jason has to take care of himself, and -- but he loves you very much. He always will, and he'll come home. He'll come home.
Michael: We'll be fine.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sam: Oh, good. You're just in time for a farewell toast. Goodbye to Port Charles, hello to our new -- what's up?
Jason: I finally understand why I was friends with Sonny. I told him that we were leaving town, and I could see that it really bothered him, but he didn't try to stop me.
Sam: He wouldn’t.
Jason: He's in bad shape right now. He just came from having Carly committed. He has the Ruiz family breathing down his neck.
Sam: Jason, what do you want to do?
Jason: Look at you, you're all -- you're all packed, ready to go. This is what you've wanted.
Sam: What I don't want is for you to turn around someday and decide that what you did was because of me. This is your choice, ok? I am with you, whatever you decide.
Javier: Check upstairs. Go.
Man: We're too late.
Sam: No doubts?
Jason: If we don't get out now, I'm not sure we ever will. I do feel bad about Sonny, but he chose his business long before I knew him.
Sam: Someone does always end up getting hurt in the end.
Jason: I just got to make sure it's not you.
Sam: Well, it's our life, and we are finally free to figure it out together.
Sonny: "There was a mama bear, a papa bear, and a baby bear," just like Morgan.
Sonny: "And when they got home, they were feeling sleepy and very hungry."
Sonny: "When they walked into the dining room, guess what they saw."
Sonny: "Three bowls of porridge."
[Answering machine beeps]
Reese: Sonny, it's Reese. I know this must have been a horrible day for you, and I'm so sorry. And I just heard that Jason’s leaving. I've been thinking about you. You must feel like you're losing everyone around you, but you're not. Just say the word and I'll be there, ok? I'll wait to hear.
Sonny: "And the papa bear said, 'Someone's been eating in my porridge.'" See that? "Then the pretty mama bear looked at her bowl," and you know what she said? "Someone's been eating my porridge."
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Maxie: The perv is ready to set you up for the final fall.
Jesse: He's going to be at the party tonight. We're going to get him. Professor Taylor, what brings you by?
Prof. Taylor: The F you pulled on your latest paper. I hope you don't have any plans tonight.
Woman: Welcome to your private island paradise.
Sam: You already want to go home?
