Sam: God. Oh.

[Knock on door]

Sam: Who is it?

Man: Detective Rodriguez with the PCPD.

Sam: What do you want?

Det. Rodriguez: Is Jason Morgan home? I need to speak to him about the shootings in the park.

Sam: No, Jason just left. And as far as I know, he's not coming back.

Tony: So continue taking the medication exactly as prescribed and you're going to need a follow-up exam in about a month.

Jason: I won't be here.

Tony: Well, then you need to find a doctor for a reference for wherever you're traveling.

Jason: It's not a trip. I have one more stop to make and I'm leaving town.

Jax: You know, it's a breach of etiquette to take your mistress on vacation without consulting your soon-to-be ex-wife. I thought Nikolas would have better manners than that.

Emily: You're furious.

Jax: Aren't you?

Emily: Of course. But I guess what they say is true -- turnabout is fair play. I did the same thing to Zander that Nikolas is doing to me.

Elizabeth: Lucky, I'm really glad that you and Jax came to an agreement.

Lucky: Yeah, I don't think I'm ever going to like this guy, but I think we came to an understanding. Hey, hey, don't --

Elizabeth: What? What's wrong?

Singer: Pale moon that excites me that thrills and delights me oh, no it's just the nearness

Sonny: Carly, what --

Carly: No, don't say anything.

Singer: Of you

Carly: Father Coates is going to be here any second. All you have to say is "I do."

Sonny: What are you doing?

Carly: Do you like my dress?

Sonny: Very much.

Carly: Yeah. Do you remember you helped me pick out the first two? Well, actually, the three -- three if you count the first wedding --

Sonny: We can't get married tonight.

Carly: But I love you. Sonny?

Singer: Oh, no

Carly: Don't you love me, too?

Singer: It's just

Sonny: I love you. I always will.

Singer: The nearness of you

["The Nearness of You" plays]

Sonny: You must've worked really hard to plan this.

Carly: I wanted everything to be perfect.

Sonny: This is what's making you feel better? Calming you down? Remember when I asked you if you were doing something --

Carly: I remember when you asked me to marry you.

Sonny: When? When, Carly? When did I ask you to --?

Carly: In Michaelís room.

Sonny: Yeah?

Carly: When you said that you wanted me to be your wife again, I knew that everything was going to be all right.

Man: Father Coates is here.

Sonny: Ok, thank you.

Father Coates: Thank you.

Carly: Oh.

Father Coates: Hey. I understand I have a happy duty to perform.

Sonny: Um -- thank you for coming over, father. We just -- there's been a --

Carly: Father, do you remember the last time that you married us, and Sonny did everything, he planned everything to surprise me? Well, I did it for him this time.

Sonny: Yeah, she's right. Um -- I wasn't really expecting to get married this evening so --

Father Coates: It's ok. There's no problem. Call me to reschedule.

Carly: Oh, no. No, no, don't leave. No, no, we want to get married right now. Don't we, Sonny?

Emily: It's not fair to stand here and, yeah, jump self-righteous about Nikolas betraying our marriage when I did the same thing to Zander.

Jax: Well, then it's clear that Nikolas had no respect for the bonds of matrimony back then, either.

Emily: We fell in love, Jax.

Jax: You think that Courtney and Nikolas are in love?

Emily: I think they share an emotional bond.

Jax: I think they have the hots for each other. That's as far as it goes. I think they enjoy, you know, sneaking around, and now that they've been caught, they are actually enjoying being tragic and misunderstood.

Emily: Oh. You're very cynical.

Jax: Just not as generous as you.

Emily: Look Jax, Zander married me on what he thought was my death bed. He loved me and he wanted me to live, but I had already fallen in love with Nikolas, so I snuck around and, in retrospect, I probably enjoyed feeling tragic and misunderstood. And on the night that Nikolas and I finally made love, Zander walked in and I never truly understood the pain he must've felt until it happened to me.

Jax: You know, Courtney said that I never loved her at all. She said it was just a game for me. You know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe turnabout's fair play because the night I married Skye, Brenda came back into my life. I got to tell you, I didn't handle things well or honestly and, well, Skye ended up suffering for it.

Emily: But you never set out to hurt her.

Jax: No.

Emily: And I never set out to hurt Zander, either.

Jax: You know, I just -- I just keep wondering why Courtney couldn't tell me that she was feeling inadequate -- or whatever, whatever it was that drove her to Nikolas.

Emily: Maybe she was trying to protect you. That's what I try to do for Nikolas. I thought that I was saving my marriage, but I was poisoning it. That's what secrets do, you know? They destroy trust; they take away your faith until one day you realize that there's nothing left.

Lucky: Cam, he started to unravel this. It took me 15 minutes with a pen to get it back together.

Elizabeth: Don't you want to play it, see if it works?

Lucky: I don't think it's right yet, so let me just mess around with it a little bit. Put on a C.D. or something.

Elizabeth: Let's do the dishes first. I'll wash, you dry.

Lucky: No. You rest.

Elizabeth: Oh.

Lucky: You're pregnant; you just finished working a split shift. I'll wash the dishes.

Elizabeth: Yeah, but if we do it together, it'll go twice as fast and then we can have more time to cuddle on the couch.

Lucky: Well, when you put it that way, I'll wash, you dry.

Elizabeth: In case I haven't mentioned, you're the most amazing man ever.

Jason: Your mother says I -- I helped her believe that you're in a better place. And I hope I'm right. You know, I hope -- I hope you're in heaven and it's beautiful. Just say a prayer for your mom, ok? I mean, she loves you and she's been hurt so bad. She doesn't deserve to be hurt anymore.

Sam: I didn't follow you.

Jason: I know. I know you didnít.

Sam: It's pretty here, isn't it?

Jason: Yeah. Yeah, it's nice.

Sam: You chose it. I remember thinking how hard it must've been for you to choose a grave for a baby who didn't even get to breathe, but you did it so I wouldn't have to.

Jason: I'm glad -- I'm glad you like it.

Sam: You brought me here after the memorial and the marker wasn't down yet. We just -- we sat by the grave and you told her goodbye. I tried to, but I wasn't ready. That's why I came here tonight. To say goodbye to both of you.

 [Knock on door]

Jax: Elizabeth? Lucky?

Lucky: What does he want now?

Elizabeth: Be nice. Hi.

Jax: Hi.

Lucky: Listen, she's tired. We're both tired.

Jax: Well, hopefully this won't take long.

Elizabeth: Please, come in.

Jax: I ran into Emily tonight.

Elizabeth: Is she ok?

Jax: Yeah. Well, she's doing better than I am. She had some good insights and the fact that secrets destroy trust. That's why I'm here.

Elizabeth: What do you mean?

Jax: Lucky's blackmailing me.

Sonny: You know what? Father Coates, I'm sorry for the confusion. I just want to speak to Carly for one second. Come over here.

Father Coates: Sure. Take your time.

Carly: Oh --

Father Coates: I'll wait in the foyer.

Carly: No, no, no, no, no, no.

Sonny: No, Carly, Carly --

Carly: No, no, no, everything's ready. We're going to get married --

Sonny: Listen --

Carly: We're ready to get married right now.

Sonny: Ok, what about Alcazar?

Carly: Hey.

Sonny: Your divorce?

Carly: Lorenzo -- he won't care. He knows that I've been in love with you. He knows how much I love you.

Sonny: This will not be a legal marriage.

Carly: It does -- it's ok. Sonny, we can say our vows tonight --

Sonny: Right.

Carly: And then we can have a civil ceremony later and make it legal.

Emily: Oh -- am I interrupting?

Father Coates: No.

Carly: Sonny and I are about to get married. It's a private ceremony.

Sonny: Can you go ahead and take Father Coates to the foyer? I've got to speak to Carly about something.

Emily: Yeah. Right this way, Father.

Father Coates: Yeah.

Carly: Listen, I'm sorry for the delay. I just need to explain to Sonny. There's nothing to worry about.

Emily: Come on.

Sonny: Hey, listen to me, all right? We've been married three times, right, and we have two beautiful children, and I'll never, ever regret that. And even in the bad times, I feel closer to you than I ever will with anyone.

Carly: Sonny, we love each other.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Carly: The priest is waiting. All we have to do is say our vows.

Sonny: We can't be married. We've tried it over and over again. We even made the decision to stop hurting each other and our kids and live separate lives. Listen -- listen to me. No, listen to me! I never asked you to marry me.

Carly: You did! You did ask! You did! In Michaelís room. I was lying there and you came in and you said, "Will you marry me?" Were you lying then or are you lying now?

Jason: Are you going to be ok?

Sam: Yeah. You may not remember this about me, but I'm a survivor, you know? Some times are better than others but I always manage to be ok.

Jason: You've been -- you've been great to me. You've tried so hard to, you know, explain everything, and I know that -- I know that my life made sense to me before I was loyal to Sonny and protected his family, but I would really like to think that I protected you, too.

Sam: Always. Always.

Jason: And I know I must've worked so hard to learn everything that I know. It must have been important to me, but the reasons are gone and all that's left are the skills. I -- I kill people without thinking and you know, maybe I've been -- maybe I've been lucky so far. Maybe they have been, you know, bad people, but I don't know anything. I just -- you know, I'm just feeling so out of control that --

Sam: I get it. I mean, you don't trust yourself.

Jason: No, I can't -- I can't trust myself.

Sam: That is so strange because I still trust you, more than anyone I have ever met. I mean, before we got together when you were basically babysitting me for Sonny, we -- we got stuck in this bar because I ran away and you followed me and there was this little bar and it was raining out and you had told me to go to sleep and I could because you were there with me. I didn't even like you. But you made me feel safe. And you still do.

Jason: Don't you get that you're going to be safer away from me?

Sam: I know that's what you think. I mean, you -- you are going away more for me than you are for yourself. And, Jason, it's tearing my heart out. But it's who you are. It's who you are.

Jason: I mean, I just -- I just wish I could remember you know, what we had. I wish I could remember loving you.

Elizabeth: What do you mean, Lucky's blackmailing you?

Jax: Lucky made a tape of our meeting this evening.

Elizabeth: The one I found under your jacket? The one Cameron unraveled?

Lucky: Listen, I didn't want you to hear this, but now I don't have a choice.

Jax: Regardless of what you hear on the tape, Elizabeth, I have no intention of taking your child.

Lucky: Oh, it's too late for damage control. You came over here to call my bluff. Now you're going to have to live with the consequences.

Elizabeth: Will someone please just tell me what's going on?

Jax: Lucky doesn't trust that I will honor the shared custody agreement, so he made a tape to use as leverage if I ever changed my mind. Now, I think he put a time bomb in your relationship, ok? I want you to hear what's on the tape. I want to get it all out in the open and then we can decide where to go from there.

Lucky: Hmm. That's very noble. You know what? It's too bad that's not how you sound on this tape.

Emily: Excuse me. Is Dr. Winters still in her office?

Louise: Dr. Winters is about to leave for dinner.

Emily: Oh, good, I'm glad I caught you. Could I speak with you privately?

Louise: Sure.

Emily: Ok.

Louise: How can I help you?

Emily: Um -- listen, I have a friend -- no, really I do. She's -- she's having a nervous breakdown.

Louise: Oh. Well, I have a full caseload at the moment, but I'd be happy to refer you --

Emily: She needs help tonight.

Louise: I'm sorry. I've got plans.

Justus: With me.

Emily: Oh. Oh.

Justus: Emily, how you doing?

Emily: Justus, hi.

Justus: We have to run. We have dinner reservations.

Emily: Ok.

Justus: We're running late.

Emily: Listen, Carly tried to marry Sonny tonight.

Justus: What?

Emily: Yeah. She called the priest over. She had the dress and the cake all ready. Sonny tried to talk her out of it, but it was like she couldn't hear him.

Louise: I take it we're talking about Sonny and Carly Corinthos.

Emily: Yeah.

Louise: Carly Alcazar.

Justus: She's having a little trouble.

Louise: Well, she was arrested for trying to shoot Sonny, right? I read about it in the paper. Wait, wasn't she committed to Shadybrook?

Justus: No, Sonny decided to take care of her at home.

Louise: Oh. That might not have been the best choice. Fortunately, she's not my patient, because if she were, I'd probably --

Emily: No, listen, you don't understand, Dr. Winters. Sonny is desperate to help her, and I don't think he can.  You have to see her tonight.

Sonny: Come here. If I knew it would make you better, I would marry you in a heartbeat. But it's only going to make you worse.

Carly: Because you don't love me.

Sonny: I do love you. You know that.

Carly: I got mixed up. I always do that. I -- I try and make you happy and instead I make you mad.

Sonny: No, no, you don't make --

Carly: I lie and I --

Sonny: Listen --

Carly: Make you mad at me.

Sonny: No, listen. Listen to me, ok? I get hurt because I want us to work. And it never does. And then I become a bastard, right? I scream at you? I'm sorry. I'm sorry for screaming at you. I'm sorry -- for everything. But you know what? You're going to get better. Ok? You're going to be ok.

Carly: Ah. It's chocolate cake. I got it because the boys like chocolate. I thought that we could bring them a piece of cake in the morning and tell them that mommy and daddy were going to get remarried, but I made a mistake.

Sonny: No, you --

Carly: No!

Sonny: Carly?

Carly: I'm a bad mom! I ruin everything. I --

Sonny: No!

Carly: Ah!

Jaxís voice: And these are just the facts, Lucky. I'm not even digging up any dirt.

Lucky's voice: Yeah.

Jax's voice: Can't you understand how dangerous this can be for Elizabeth to go to court? Not only will she lose my child, the courts may decide that Cameron is better off in foster care.

[Lucky stops tape player]

Lucky: You heard enough?

Jax: I'm sorry you had to hear that.

Lucky: Yeah, I bet you are. Now leave.

Jax: Now you heard the tape. You know that Lucky provoked me. Look, I swear to you, Elizabeth, on our child's life, I will never do anything to take our baby from you.

Elizabeth: Why should I believe you?

Jax: Because I'm here. Now, I could have gone along with Lucky's blackmail. I could have sat back and watched the secret destroy your relationship. But what hurts you hurts our child. Ok? And I don't want that. I want this child to grow up in two loving homes -- mine and yours with Lucky.

Lucky: Don't believe him.

Elizabeth: I need some time to think about this, ok, Lucky?

Jax: I understand. Just know, Elizabeth, whatever happens, I want this baby to -- to have the best of both of us. I mean that.

[Door opens and closes]

Lucky: You know, I am sick of this guy's grand gestures.

Elizabeth: Just give me the tape.

Lucky: Well, what are you doing?

Elizabeth: Making sure this can't be used to hurt anyone.

Sam: Why did you come here?

Jason: To try one last time to remember so I wouldn't have to leave.

Jason: I sat here and -- and thought about holding her. You know, how she looked. How I felt, and -- and, you know, I kept trying to -- to push it. I -- I wanted to remember, to make myself remember to think, you know -- to think what happened next. What happened? I must have set her down, right? Did I -- did I walk out of the room? Did I sit by you? I can't remember. You know, just the doctor calling me the father, and then -- and then seeing her so -- yeah, so tiny in my hands. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I shouldn't even be telling you this.

Sam: Oh, no, no, no, please, I want you to. I want you to.

Jason: You said I believe in God, so I tried to pray. You know, I thought about your daughter in heaven, and what she'd want for you. She wants you to be happy. Even if I never remember --  I want to stay with you.

Elizabeth: Jax had nothing to gain by coming over here tonight. He had to know how bad he sounded on that tape.

Lucky: Jax is a gambler. He took a calculated risk. By confessing, he took away my leverage and only made himself look like a hero. So the only way he wins is if you buy into his act so donít.

Elizabeth: He isn't out to win.

Lucky: Since when?

Elizabeth: Since he started to realize what it means to become a parent.

Lucky: Oh --

Elizabeth: There's a point where your child is the star in your life and your needs become secondary. You want what's best for them, not yourself, and that's what Jax figured out tonight.

Lucky: You really want shared custody?

Elizabeth: I want you to want it. Lucky, I love you, and I know this can work if you just believe in it.

Lucky: I believe in you.

Sonny: Carly and I, we're in the middle of something right now, so if you can --

Louise: I'm sorry, I -- I didn't mean to intrude. I just -- I wanted to admire your dress. It's -- it's beautiful.

Carly: Oh. Sonny and I were supposed to get married, but I cut his hand.

Sonny: No, it was an accident. And we're fine now, thank you, though.

Louise: Oh, well, I'm sure Carly would feel a whole lot better if you got your hand bandaged up. You know what? At least she won't have to worry about you bleeding all over this gorgeous dress. Am I right?

Carly: I want you to stop bleeding.

Emily: I've got the first-aid kit.

Louise: Great. Why don't you bandage up Sonny's hand? And then Carly and I can check out her dress and just make sure there's no dirt on it, huh?

Sonny: Hey, are you going to be ok, Carly?

Carly: Emily needs to fix your hand.

Louise: See?

Sonny: Ok.

Louise: She's more concerned about you than she is about herself. Let me guess -- he's the macho type. Never likes to admit when he's hurt.

Carly: How'd you know?

Louise: It's my job to read people. I'm Lainey by the way. Well, actually, my first name is really Louise, but I hate it. My middle name is Elaine, and all my friends call me Lainey.

Carly: I'm Caroline. I hate it, so they call me Carly.

Lainey: Well, it's nice to meet you, Carly.

Carly: I hope -oh -- my dress doesn't have any blood on it. Otherwise, I have to throw it away.

Lainey: Oh, no, that would be a shame! My God, it looks so wonderful on you. Come on, let's go check it out, ok? Come.

Sonny: You brought her over here?

Emily: Ok, let me see your hand.

Sonny: What the -- no, no, no. What the hell were you thinking?

Emily: Carly needs a doctor.

Sonny: You know what she's going to do? She's going to leave here, call the cops, and have Carly committed.

Emily: She came here tonight as a personal favor to Justus. She's treating Carly as a friend.

Sonny: And you arranged all this without asking me?

Emily: There wasn't any time.

Sonny: Oh, you thought you could make that choice? Carly was -- is my wife! Ex-wife. The mother of my sons. I know what's best for her. So why did you do that?

Emily: Carly --

Sonny: If you --

Emily: Attacked you.

Sonny: No, that's not what happened!

Emily: You didn't cut your own hand!

Sonny: You don't -- Carly grabbed a knife, went to cut her wrist. I stopped her before she would hurt herself. Carly is getting worse. I don't know how to help her.  Carly, sorry it took so long. I --

Carly: How's your hand?

Sonny: No, in a couple days, it'll be good as new. Listen to me. Why don't you go upstairs with Emily so she can help you, you know, get changed and --

Carly: Would you mind? I don't want my dress to wrinkle.

Emily: No, I don't blame you. Come on.

Carly: It was nice to meet you, Lainey.

Lainey: You too, Carly.

Carly: Ah, Justus, don't be a fool. Take her out on that date.

Sonny: I won't send Carly to a mental hospital.

Lainey: That's your decision.

Sonny: And I assume that Justus and Emily already filled you in that this didn't happen tonight. You weren't even here.

Lainey: Obviously, you're gearing up to fight someone, Mr. Corinthos. But it won't be me. Carly's in the throes of a nervous breakdown, and I don't think it would be wise to take her to a mental hospital against her will, but she needs professional help.

Sonny: You're hired.

Lainey: I'm advising you to take her to a psychiatrist. I never agreed to take on her case.

Sonny: I'll pay you whatever -- whatever it takes to help her.

Lainey: It would be very easy to take offense to that. You can't throw money at Carlyís problems and make them go away.

Sonny: You don't think I don't know that?

Justus: Lainey, Carly likes you personally as a friend. Doesn't that help with the treatment?

Lainey: I'm not going to take on Carlyís case unless I think I can help her.

Justus: Then come here as a friend. Come and visit regularly. See what happens, figure it out.

Lainey: Would that be all right with you, Mr. Corinthos? If I came for another visit -- as her friend?

Sonny: You're welcome in my home anytime.

Carly: Are you sure the dress isn't stained?

Emily: No, it's fine, Carly.

Carly: How's Sonny's hand?

Emily: It's fine.

Carly: Are you sure? Because sometimes he says he's not hurt, but he is. You have to pretend to believe him, and then watch. As soon as he thinks he's alone, he lets the pain show.

Emily: He just cut his hand, Carly. It's really ok.

Carly: It's chocolate cake. You can give some to the boys. Just don't tell them it was wedding cake. I don't want them to know that I made a mistake. I don't want them to know that I hurt their father.

Sonny: It was nothing, Carly. See? Just a -- I've had worse cuts than this selling newspapers as a kid.

Carly: No, you didnít.

Sonny: Yeah. You know, there was a bunch of papers they'd get off the trucks and stuff, and I'd have to cut them with -- the vines with a box cutter, right? One time I was in a hurry. And -- blood everywhere. On my school clothes, on the papers. It's just -- this was nothing.

Carly: You're trying to make me feel better.

Emily: I'm going to hang your dress in the guest closet.

Sonny: No, you know, it's -- it's true. I -- I -- 10 stitches is what I got back then. And this -- I don't even need any stitches. But you got -- you got to promise me something, ok? That you'll never try to hurt yourself again.

Carly: I'm just so tired.

Sonny: I know, sweetheart. But you're going to get better. I'm going to do whatever I can.

Emily: Thank you so much for waiting. I think Carlyís going to be ok for tonight.

Lainey: Ok. Tell Mr. Corinthos to call me, and we'll set up another time for me to visit.

Emily: Ok. Thank you again for doing this.

Lainey: Well, Justus already thanked me. But maybe he's grateful enough to finally take me on that date.

Justus: Hey, I'll take you on a date anytime, so long as you stop canceling on me.

Lainey: What? Please.

[Lainey laughs]

Sonny: Carly's asleep.

Emily: That's probably the best thing for her.

Sonny: She's so exhausted.

Emily: Yeah.

Sonny: She worked so hard to put this all together. I -- I don't know how -- how I didn't know what was going on. I mean, it was --

Emily: You're not keeping her prisoner here. She has access to the phone, charge cards and -- and besides, she's a very determined person.

Sonny: Can I tell you something?

Emily: Yeah.

Sonny: I'd have married her tonight. I mean, it wouldn't have been legal, and it wouldn't have mattered to anybody but Carly, but who knows? She might be happy.

Emily: You'd have been pulling her even further into a fantasy world.

Sonny: So instead I break her heart?

Emily: You're helping her, Sonny.

Sonny: You know, I keep telling her that. I keep telling myself that. But what if I'm wrong? What if Carly never gets better?

Emily: When I walked in tonight and I saw you holding her, that's love. That's the kind that's strong enough to get you through anything. Carly will get better because of you.

Sonny: Whew.

Sam: Welcome home. Well, you've got to be starving. Yeah?

Jason: Yeah, I could eat.

Sam: Ok -- um -- I'll order some Chinese. I know everything you like, so it should be easy.

Jason: Tell me the truth about the Chinese. Do I really like Chinese food?

Sam: Well, there are some dishes you're less enthusiastic about, but I think that's mostly caution. The good news is --

Jason: Oh, yeah?

Sam: Is that you could, you know, rediscover new things with an open mind and --

Jason: Like? What kind of new things?

Sam: Well, delicacies.

Jason: Have I tried them before?

Sam: Yeah, mm-hmm.

Jason: And what did I do?

Sam: Spit them out.

Jason: Why do you want me to eat more of them?

Sam: No, see, this is, like -- yeah, you spit them out, but I just think, like, the only time I've ever seen you show fear is when I actually tried -- because you didn't do it -- I tried to get you to eat squid.

Jason: Maybe we should just have a salad.

Sam: Ok. Hey, whatever you want. I'm going to get you whatever you want, because I'm not going to argue about anything, ok?

Jason: Right.

Sam: Hey, I even -- I'm not going to mess up a salad, I promise.

Jason: I just -- I just want to tell you -- um -- I know --

Singer: It's you and me to be

Jason: What it cost you to let me walk out tonight.

Singer: To just survive

Jason: And I'm sorry to put you through that. But having you let me go is -- is how I knew I could stay.

Sam: Well, I mean, you did the same for me once.

Singer: And leave me wondering

Sam: I'm glad I could return the favor.

Singer: Baby, it's just you and me we got a thing they can't shake maybe it's a little hard sometimes to take but I'll tell you something it's a life worth living just so you know I wouldn't give it up, no

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Dillon: You don't honestly think that I drugged you and took pictures?

Mac: Dillon shot this not too long ago. Do you still think your sister is safe?

Ric: What do you want?

Lorenzo: The Ruiz family knows you were involved.

Jason: I don't want any ties to my life before.
