Lucky: I really never really knew you, Courtney, before all this except, you know, by your reputation. And from everything people say about you, it's true.

Nikolas: Watch it, man, I'm telling you.

Lucky: I mean, you meet a guy, then you sleep with him. You maybe even get him to marry you. And then when something better comes along, you dump him so you can have a bigger fish.

Nikolas: All right, shut up, Lucky, just shut up.

Lucky: You're just a slut, and you're a fool for --

Courtney: Stop it. Don't do -- guys!

Alexis: Reese, what are you still doing here?

Sonny: How are you feeling?

Carly: Better now.

Sonny: I was worried about you.

Sam's voice: Carly? Carly. Hey.

Carly: Where is he?

Sam: Who? Hey, you just had a dream, ok? Are you all right?

Carly: Of course. It's all very clear.

Jason: This business thing you want taken care of -- you're on your own, I'm sorry.

Sonny: No, I'm sorry. I didn't realize --

Jason: What -- what? That I don't take orders anymore?

Sonny: I didn't know you were this lost.

Courtney: You guys have to stop this! What are you -- what are you trying to prove? Nikolas, please --

Lucky: This is between me and my brother!

Courtney: No, it is not just between you and your brother. I am stuck right in the middle, Lucky.

Lucky: Well, it was your choice to sleep with a married man.

Nikolas: Separated.

Courtney: Look, my -- my marriage to Jax was a sham, ok? He pretended to care about me just to get the baby.

Lucky: Listen, I'm not going to sit here and defend Jax. He's been a jerk, as far as I'm concerned. But you didn't have to go and trash Nikolas and Emilyís marriage to get revenge on your husband.

Nikolas: Lucky, I already told you, we were already over, ok?

Lucky: Did you stop loving her? Huh? Then I guess we'll never get a chance to know. Did it ever occur to either one of you that lives would be wrecked? Like Elizabethís and the baby she's carrying? Your baby.

Reese: I'm here because Ric is my partner and my friend, and we both nearly got killed tonight.

Doctor: Ms. Davis?

Alexis: Yes?

Doctor: Your husband's a very lucky man. The bullet missed his vital organs. The bullet lodged under one of his ribs, and we were able to remove it without further damage.

Alexis: So he's going to be fine?

Doctor: He's stable. But any gunshot is serious. We're going to keep him under observation, make sure there's nothing we missed, no complications.

Alexis: Thank you very much, doctor. Thank you. So you heard.

Reese: That's good news.

Alexis: Your partner and your friend are out of the woods. I'm sure that you have something that you need to do. I would really appreciate it if you would go do it.

Ric: Hi.

Alexis: Hi.

Ric: Well, you said that your face would be the first one I'd see when I woke up. But you're not talking. That means you're scared.

Alexis: Terrified.

Ric: What did they do to me?

Alexis: You're all in one piece. They got the bullet out. They said nothing critical was damaged.

Ric: Oh, really? Well, the doctor's a liar. I feel horrible. Oh, it happened so fast.

Alexis: He's

Ric: What about Sonny? What about Reese?

Alexis: The only people that got hurt were you and Max and maybe in the long run -- I hate to say this, but maybe it was a good thing.

Ric: How is that?

Alexis: Because now you can stop working for Sonny.

Sam: Hey, what does that mean, "Itís all clear"? What did you dream?

Carly: Fixing mistakes. It's time to make things right.

Sam: Um -- it -- yeah. Look, I think you need to get some rest, ok? There will be a lot of time to start fixing things. You're really lucky, you know? There's a lot of people around here who love you a lot, and they want to see you get better.

Carly's voice: You don't give a damn about me. All you care about is Jason.

Sam: Carly?

Carly: I -- I need to go to sleep.

Sam: Yeah, good idea. Rest. Rest is good. How about I bring you up some tea? Yeah?

Carly: Yeah -- no, that's really sweet, thanks.

Sam: Ok. I'll bring it up the next time I come up.

Carly's voice: "You are invited to the wedding of Carly and Sonny Corinthos."

Sonny: You really don't know what's going on here?

Jason: You made somebody angry. It's a 9 millimeter.

Sonny: Carly was here, Sam was here. That -- does it mean anything to you?

Jason: Is Sam ok?

Sonny: She wasn't hit.

Jason: It's got nothing to do with me.

Sonny: Well, you're family, Jason, whether you remember or not.

Jason: I know what I was to you. I've heard it enough times. I read the police file.

Sonny: You were never convicted.

Jason: I -- you know why? Because I'm good, I'm efficient. I've seen it and I've felt it. At this clinic, I was threatened by two guys with guns. Something kicked in, and I took their guns away and shot them before I even had a chance to think.

Sonny: They deserved it.

Jason: They weren't there to kill me.

Sonny: You didn't know that!

Jason: And I didn't stop to find out! I don't know anything about my own life. What I enjoy, what I hate, who I care about. Sam says you and her, but you know what? She could be lying to me.

Sonny: She's not.

Jason: I know too much. I know weapons, I know explosives, technology. Where the hell does it come from?

Sonny: You are a smart, fearless man. You do what needs to be done.

Jason: Out of loyalty?

Sonny: Yes.

Jason: If I owe you something, I don't know what is. I did for you the things in the police fileóI can't do them anymore. And I wonít.

Sonny: Forget about me. What -- what is it you want?

Jason: I don't know what I want! I don't even know who I am. I have to figure that out before anything else.

Sam: Was that Jason?

Sonny: Yeah.

Sam: What happened?

Sonny: He just took off. You need to find him and --

Sam: Sonny, you can't expect him to be who he was.

Sonny: He's going to get himself killed!  There are a lot of dangerous people out there who don't care about lost memories. They know Jason is my enforcer. Ruiz and his crew are in Port Charles waiting for me to make my next move. If they see Jason, they will shoot first and ask questions at the funeral. Now, I -- I thought, actually, by bringing Jason here tonight, he could see what happened, and he would come around. But now I've realized that he's a lot worse than I thought.

Sam: I tried to help.

Sonny: I know you did. But what I need you to do is I need you to find him and you talk to him. Tell you what. You take him to my place on the island. If he wants to figure out who he is, that's the best place to go. You understand what I'm saying?

Sam: Are you sure that it's safe?

Sonny: Yeah -- yeah. I'll double security.

Sam: Ok.

Sonny: You need to convince him.

Sam: Ok. All right. What about you? Will you be protected?

Sonny: Don't worry about me.

Sam: Ok.

Sonny: You take care of Jason.

Sam: Ok, ok.

Ruiz: Take it easy, Morgan. I had nothing to do with what happened at Sonnyís.

Jason: I didn't ask.

Ruiz: Well, I'm just saying. I know Sonny wants a meeting. As a representative of the Ruiz family, I'm willing to work with him to find out who did this terrible thing. I heard his brother was injured.

Jason: I want all you people to leave me alone.

Monica: You would risk your son's life?

Alan: On the chance of having him back? Yes.

Monica: Alan, there isn't any --

Alan: Think of all the lives that we would save, all the people that Jason would not have to kill for Sonny. We'd be doing a public service.

Monica: Ok. Ok, let's just say the surgery was successful. It would get Jasonís memories back of his life as Jason Morgan. There is no surgery that would undo the damage that was done 10 years ago to that frontal lobe.

Alan: There are so many unknowns here, Monica. If there's a chance of us getting our son back, that beautiful boy that you loved so much, how can you refuse to try?

Monica: Well, let's just say it is not my decision to make, nor is it yours.

Alan: You are so eaten up with bitterness and regret; it's become who you are. You'd rather hang on to that than risk the possibility of Jason becoming well again. You're so in love with blaming me that you'd rather compromise Jason? Let him just get well enough to go back to being Sonny's killing machine?

Monica: It is Jasonís life. What he does with it is his business.

Alan: What kind of life does he have? Being a murderer? I won't settle for your pessimism, Monica. If there's a chance of me getting my son back, I'll do whatever it takes.

Alexis: Your life was spared.  Can't you see what you've been given? I've lost way too much to Sonny already. My sister, what happened with Kristina -- I can't lose you, too.

Sonny: Doctor says you're doing good. That's good news.

Alexis: That's perfect timing. Will you tell him? Please, tell him that you can't work for him anymore.

John: More bullets flying around the Corinthos household. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it? Home sweet home.

Reese: What do you want from me?

John: Now, I can't imagine what makes an intelligent, bright woman like yourself so stupid around a two-bit thug. Am I missing something?

Reese: Humanity, compassion -- shall I go on?

John: All right, look, you know -- hey, Reese, it's your life. You waste it any way you want. But Carly is inside that house. Now, it's bad enough that Sonny has driven her to a nervous breakdown. She could have been shot.

Reese: I got nothing to say to you.

John: Yeah, but then again, maybe that would work for you, too, huh? Oh, you can't possibly like the fact that she's stashed away somewhere on the compound, most probably his bedroom, while you're out cooling your heels.

Reese: Nice try, Durant. You have no idea where your daughter is, and I'm certainly not going to fill in the blanks.

John: Yeah, I don't know, but it's so obvious to me. Mr. Compassion, Mr. Humanity, he of the God complex who thinks he can heal it all, including Carly.

Reese: Who knows Carly better?

John: Reese, I want you to stop for one moment and I want you to think real hard about how it's going to go down in there. Sonny has a lot to prove with Carly. He wants absolution for the way that she's ended up so while he's in there, healing her all warm and cozy, certain emotions are going to start to flare up. Then there's going to be that spark that's always been there between them. And then the realization, "Hey, we're meant to be together, again." It's inevitable. Now, the question you got to ask yourself -- where does that leave Reese?

Alexis: A few inches either way, he could've been dead.

Sonny: I know, I know. That's why I don't want to risk that happening again. So that's why I came here. To tell you that you're off the hook. I don't want you working for me anymore.

Alexis: See? Done.

Sonny: You are a brilliant attorney. You did a great job for me. And I'm proud of you.

Ric: I didn't do anything.

Sonny: You took a bullet for me, ok?

Ric: I --

Sonny: You -- I'm not -- you don't owe me anything.

Ric: It's not why I was there, Sonny.

Alexis: Listen, what difference does it make? We are all in agreement here, right?

Sonny: You have responsibilities; you have a wife, a baby on the way. It's your family. I could not ask you to take on anything for me, Ric.

Ric: Sonny, I appreciate -- I appreciate everything you said. Really, all of it. So when I get out, we'll talk.

Alexis: You have no intention of quitting, do you?

Jason: I don't want any part of your fight with Sonny. It's got nothing to do with me. You understand?

Ruiz: If you say so.

Jason: I don't know you. And I don't want to kill you, so don't make me.

Ruiz: He was serious. He's not Sonny's enforcer anymore.

Carlos: It means Corinthos is vulnerable.

Ruiz: Even better -- if it's true, we can use Morgan.

Nikolas: Ah -- thank you.

Courtney: I can't believe you got into a fistfight.

Nikolas: Yeah. My brother has kind of got a short fuse, doesn't he?

Courtney: Yeah, because of me.

Nikolas: Yeah, well, he doesn't see you the way I see you.

Courtney: No, no, he sees a home-wrecking slut.

Nikolas: Courtney, don't go there.

Courtney: What?

Nikolas: He was just angry.

Courtney: I -- I know. I know. He loves Emily. Everybody loves Emily. I can't really blame them. She's -- she's an amazing woman. But it's just -- when did we become the bad guys here?

Nikolas: I don't know.

Courtney: You know? I know that you tried to make it work with her, Nikolas. You gave her everything you had. And still, it just seems like --

Nikolas: What? Seems like what?

Courtney: People will always say that if it weren't for me --

Nikolas: Yeah, well, people will be wrong, ok?

Courtney: You know, I just feel like we're all alone in this. You know, no one's going to understand the way we feel.

Nikolas: It's ok. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, ok? We know the truth.

Elizabeth: I can't believe this. You and Nikolas? God, what is happening to us?

Lucky: Listen, I'm not proud of it, and I'm sure not going to brag about the things that I said to Courtney. You know, I really shouldn't blame her. Jax has been the idiot since day one. But Nikolas -- I mean, giving up on Emily? It's just plain wrong.

Elizabeth: Well, at least we're ok. We can find strength in that.

Lucky: Except for one thing. We pretty much used most of the money that Jax gave us to pay off my medical bills. So under the circumstances, Jax is within his rights to ask for the money back. You know where that leaves us with a baby on the way. Broke.

Elizabeth: This pregnancy wasn't my best idea. You know it isn't too late.

Courtney: Do you think that you could just hold off on that until I let you know? Ok. Thanks. They want to know when to deliver the baby furniture. I mean, I can't even begin to know how to answer that.

Nikolas: I'm sorry.

Courtney: No, it's -- I mean, I had good intentions, right? I just -- I wanted to give a child the life I never had. You know? A stable, loving home, two parents that loved each other enough to keep my marriage together.

Nikolas: Yeah? Out of love for Jax? Or just, what, for the sake of the baby?

Courtney: It was all about the baby now. Look, I can't let that child be born into a climate of spite and anger.

Nikolas: You won't allow it and neither will Elizabeth, so --

Courtney: Yeah. You know, the funny thing is, is I actually believed that Jax would make a wonderful father. So if me backing off is going to be better for the baby, then it's just what I have to do. I'm not going to tear that baby into two, Nikolas -- no, or three, if you think about the child's biological mother.

Nikolas: Listen. Come here. If you -- if you want to fight this, you know, I'll stand right there by you.

Courtney: No. Enough people are fighting over this baby right now. God, you know, if you think about it, I am right back where I started. You know? I mean, I was supposed to be the mother and now I feel like I have the least claim of anyone. You know, I mean, this was my dream and now it's just gone up in smoke.

Nikolas: Hmm. Yeah, dreams have a way of doing that.

Courtney: Look, I know that we never set out to hurt anyone.

Nikolas: Yes, I know. But look at all the damage we did anyway.

Courtney: Hey. Nikolas, you tried to be the man that Emily needed -- you did. Ok? But she -- she pushed you away, she wanted a divorce, and I know that she was dealing with the rape and I know that you will always be sorry that you couldn't have helped her but, hey, don't think that you -- you didn't try.

Nikolas: You know something? You've -- you've lost more than your share in all this and still you find a way to make me feel better. That's the part of you that I wish Lucky could see.

Courtney: You know, you're right. We shouldn't care what anyone else thinks.

Nikolas: Yeah. You know, I want you to know something. What Jax did to you was -- I mean, it was awful. All you did was love him and all he did was lie to you and treat you like dirt, so as far as I'm concerned, he deserves whatever he's going to get now.

Courtney: Are we together just to get back at Emily and Jax?

Lucky: Tell me I didn't hear you just say you were sorry about this baby.

Elizabeth: You were right. Your instincts told you that this pregnancy was a risky way to go. I just got so caught up in thinking about all the positives that I wouldn't let myself think of the downside.

Lucky: Elizabeth, you know what? There are a lot of unwanted children in this world.

Elizabeth: It just seems like there's been nothing but trouble ever since I agreed to carry this child.

Lucky: Jax wants the baby for all the wrong reasons. And you, me -- we could love this child completely.

Elizabeth: I know this isn't what you planned for us.

Lucky: You think you need to offer me a way out? I don't want one, Elizabeth. I will love this child like you do and I will fight for it.

Ric: Carly's in the middle of a breakdown, Jason doesn't know who he is, Sonny doesn't have anybody to stand by him.

Alexis: Sonny's got a whole squad of bodyguards that he pays to protect him. He's -- he's got Reese. Let her take a bullet for him.

Ric: Alexis, for God's sakes, she's my partner.

Alexis: I'm your partner.

Ric: Please don't get yourself worked up over this.

Alexis: He's giving you the chance to walk away. You have proved your worth; he respects you. You don't have to throw yourself into a war for him and risk your life in the process. It -- it's not rational. You're a rational man.

Ric: Is it rational to want your brother to live? Is it rational to want to build some kind of a relationship with him, Alexis? What about Stefan, huh? Were you rational with him? How far did you go to please him?

Alexis: I wasn't a parent then.

Ric: Our child is going to want to know where he or she came from, to know their family. That is important to me, and Sonny is part of that family. Alexis, please. He's the only link to my mother. He knew her; I didnít. I was taught. I was taught to hate this man and now I realize I don't have to. I can -- I do care about him. I cannot walk away from my brother.

Alexis: If the tables were turned and he had to make a choice, who do you think he'd choose? You or his wife and his child?

Ric: Look, Alexis, I'm tired. I -- I can't talk about --

Alexis: I want you to make a choice. I want you to choose this baby. I want you to choose me.

Reese: It's amazing to me, John, how you manage to take all your failures and lay them on everybody else.

John: My failures?

Reese: While you've been obsessing over Sonny, the Miami mob has infiltrated Port Charles, so you really messed up. Or did you already know that and chose to look the other way hoping that they would take Sonny out for you?

John: It's not my job to protect a thug from his enemies.

Reese: So long as Sonny's in the crosshairs, then everything's ok, right? It doesn't matter how many lives are in jeopardy -- your daughter's, your grandkids', the former D.A. who's been gunned down.

John: You know, I heard that you came to his rescue. Did you give him C.P.R.? How was it? Ooh. Now it's Sonny to the rescue.

Sonny: Looks like Reese already has everything under control.

John: Would you like to know what we were discussing here, slick?

Sonny: Let me guess -- if I retaliate against Ruiz, you're going to lock me up and throw away the blah, blah, blah, blah --

John: No, no, no, no. No, you couldn't be more wrong there, Corinthos. Look, you take down Ruiz and anybody else, I'll look the other way.

Sonny: Ok. So, what, you just want me to turn Carly over to you? Is that it?

John: Ah, so you're admitting that you have her?

Sonny: No, here's what I'll admit. What a fool you are to think that I would ever cut another deal with you.

Sam: I went to Sonny's house, you were there. He left before I could talk to you. Where did you go?

Jason: One of Ruizís men pulled a gun on me.

Sam: Ok. What did you do?

Jason: I didn't kill anyone.

Sam: Good. I talked to Sonny. I think we came up with a plan and I --

Jason: Yeah, well, he can't force me to work for him, Sam.

Sam: Sonny has never forced you to do anything. You made the choice to work for him. His family is in trouble right now, Jason. He's in danger. His family's been attacked. The only thing he cares about is your safety.

Jason: How do I know that you're even telling me the truth? You could be doing Sonny's business here. I don't know who any of you are.

Sam: Look at me. Hey, I have waited my whole life for you. Do you think I'm going to blow that now? Like it or not, you are Sonny's enforcer. There will be men coming to gun you down. There is a place in the Caribbean. It will be safe for you. It is Sonny's island. You have been there a hundred times before. There will be guards; you will be protected. You can go there and you can think things through and figure out what you're going to do next. I am going to go upstairs and I'm going to pack our stuff.

Jason: Forget it. I'm not going.

Nikolas: Being with you, being close to you like this, it's -- it's not a way to punish myself or it's not -- it's not a reaction to what I went through with Emily. I mean, I think -- I think if it was, it wouldn't feel this damn good.

Courtney: Yeah.

Nikolas: And I've been dealing with the insurmountable for months. I mean, I look like the man who -- who raped my wife, you know? And I could -- I could wait forever and nothing would ever be the same between me and Emily. And with you, I just, I don't have to -- I don't have to question myself or second-guess myself. I can just feel whatever I want to feel and not be afraid to say it.

Courtney: Ok, then why don't you say it.

Nikolas: I want you in my life. I like who I am with you.

Courtney: I need you, too. I didn't want to need you. I didn't want to be a complication.

Nikolas: Too late.

Courtney: Hmm. You know, I didn't need Jax or anyone else to drag me into your arms.

Nikolas: Good.

Jason: You said I'm in danger. What does that mean for anyone who's with me?

Sam: So what?

Jason: Well, I don't need that on my head.

Sam: It's not like I have never been in tight spots with you before.

Jason: Why go through it again? I don't understand why anybody would want to be with a guy like me.

Sam: Ok, look, I have never claimed to be perfect, and neither are you, by the way, but no one has ever treated me the way you have and I'm not going to walk out on you because I need you. And you need me, even if you don't know it.

Jason: And that's -- that's exactly why I can't put you at risk. There's too much. I -- there's too much I don't know, ok? I do know that I'm not going to let you walk into danger.

Sam: You're just going to walk away? Go off on your own?

Jason: No. There's another way.

Sam: What are you going to do?

Jason: I'm going to take care of it.

[Knock on door]

Carly: Come in.

Sonny: Hey. How you feeling?

Carly: Better now.

Sonny: I'm sorry about what happened before. I know it made you feel afraid and alone. But you got to know that I'm with you. There's something else I -- I need to ask you.

Carly's voice: I know what you want to ask me, Sonny, and I already know my answer.

Ric: You saved my life.

Reese: Oh, come on. The rumors of my heroism are greatly exaggerated. You're a pretty tough guy without my help.

Ric: Yeah.

Reese: But you should get so rest because I canít keep our practice afloat by myself.  I'm glad you're ok.

Ric: Me, too.

Alexis: Wow, you're good. I wasn't even gone 10 minutes and you're back.

Reese: Why are you so threatened by me, Alexis?

Ric: Hey. You just missed Reese.

Alexis: Please forgive me for asking you this, but is your refusal to cut ties with Sonny out of loyalty to him or because you want to stay close to Reese?

Jason: I want to know about the pills you gave me.

Tony: What about them?

Jason: They're not working.

Tony: Are you having headaches or seizures?

Jason: Not as many, but I still can't remember anything.

Tony: Then the symptoms have abated. The medicine is doing its job.

Jason: They're not fixing what's wrong. What else can we do?

Alan: There's an operation.

Tony: Alan, donít.

Jason: What -- what operation? What haven't you told me?

Tony: That it could kill you.

Alan: Any brain surgery is going to be risky, but if it works --

Jason: Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?

Tony: I don't even know if you're a candidate.

Jason: You say you're a doctor. What's your opinion?

Alan: If it works, it'll give you back your memory. It'll be the answer to everything.

Monica: Hi. It's Monica. You need to meet me on the 10th floor right away.

Sonny: I want to help you. You know that. But that means you're going to have to be honest with me. You need to tell me if there's somewhere else you'd rather be, a place where you feel safe. No? Ok. Then we're going to -- we're going to work through this. All right? Because I have been where you are, you know that. I have seen the darkness, I know the battles that go on in your head, the things you can't bring yourself to say out loud, and you can't trust other people to get the crazy stuff that goes on in there, but I do. I understand, so I want to -- I want to help you, but you're going to have to let me. Will you do that? Will you let me help you?

Carly: Of course I will, Sonny.

Carly's voice: Of course I'll marry you.

On the next "General Hospital" --

Ric: you're accusing me of having an affair with my law partner?

Alan: I'll do whatever you want. I will set up the surgery right now.

Jason: You knew from the beginning and didn't tell me.

Carly's voice: Sonny asked me to marry him again, I said yes.

Sonny: I want to know if you can help me protect my family.
