General Hospital Transcript Friday 7/22/05
Lucky: Just let her go. Leave Maxie with us and just take off, ok? We won't stop you.
Ofc. Murphy: Sorry. She's my insurance policy, and no one's going to shoot at me as long as I have her. Now, come on, let's go, let's go.
Maxie: Ok, ok.
Ofc. Murphy: Let's go! Ow!
Maxie: Oh -- Jesse!
Jax: Hey. You look busy.
Courtney: Yeah, I can't decide between the yellow stripes and stars or the moon pattern. What do you think?
Jax: Well, it's nice, but I think that my office chairs could use something a little more manly.
Courtney: You're useless.
Jax: I guess you're thinking ahead.
Courtney: Well, you know, Elizabeth’s pregnant. In nine short months, our spare bedroom is going to be a nursery for the baby.
Jax: Isn't it time you started calling it our baby?
Jason: There haven't been many times in my life where I didn't know what to do.
Sam: You have to try not to worry, Jason, because everything is going to be ok.
Jason: Will Michael ever be ok?
Jodie: What took you so long?
Michael: You can't be here, Jodie. No way.
Jodie: I followed you and stowed away.
Jodie: I have something to tell you.
Michael: Must be really important.
Jodie: You didn't kill A.J.
Sonny: I figured you'd come by --
Reese: You lied to me. I negotiated a deal with John Durant, and you looked me right in the eye and you told me that you thought that this was the best deal for Michael and that you were going to take it.
Sonny: Look --
Reese: You looked me right in the eye. What were you doing?
Sonny: I --
Reese: You were just wasting your breath. You were lying through your teeth the whole time.
Sonny: I was trying to protect Michael.
Reese: From me?
Sonny: Yeah -- no --
Reese: Come on. You said you wanted this deal, but you had absolutely no intention of honoring it. So come on, Sonny, lie to me again. Why don't you just tell me that you trust me?
Jesse: Are you ok?
Maxie: Yeah, yeah. I'm just glad this is all finally over.
Jesse: Maxie, you could have been killed.
Maxie: You, too.
Jesse: It's my job.
Maxie: Well, I was just in the neighborhood.
Jesse: You think this is a joke? You said you'd leave this to Lucky and me. You promised to stay away, but instead, you came back, saw Murphy with a gun, and jumped him.
Maxie: You're welcome.
Jesse: What were you thinking?
Maxie: I was thinking that you needed help and I was right. And I'd do it all over again.
Jesse: Are you crazy?
Lucky: Ambulance is on its way.
Ofc. Murphy: We worked together, Spencer. How could you do this?
Lucky: Well, first off, you shot the D.A. You dealt drugs and then you tried to frame another cop.
Ofc. Murphy: You're still a rookie, Luck. You don't know how it can get on this job. Scraping by on a pitiful paycheck while you protect these rich fat cats who could buy you 10 times over again.
Lucky: Yeah, well, let them. It beats selling out.
Ofc. Murphy: Oh, tell that to Elizabeth the next time she wants something you can't afford.
Nikolas: Remember me?
Emily: Oh, God! Oh -- oh, God.
Nikolas: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking.
Emily: No, no, no --
Nikolas: No, don't even worry about it; just leave it there. Come on, leave it.
Emily: You just caught me off guard.
Nikolas: Here, come on. Here, just leave it there. I got you these here.
Emily: Thank you, Nikolas. They're beautiful.
Nikolas: You're welcome. I'm -- I'm so sorry.
Nikolas: That was stupid of me surprising you like that. I should have thought better.
Emily: No, it -- it's ok. I just --
Nikolas: Here --
Emily: I didn't know that anybody was there.
Nikolas: Yeah. You studying?
Emily: Yeah, anatomy. I have two more chapters to read. The test's on Monday, so my mind's spinning.
Nikolas: I'm sure I'm not making it any easier. Listen, I'll leave you alone with the -- what is that? -- the lymphatic system, yes. I'm really sorry about that. I was just trying to let you know that I was thinking about you.
Emily: Thank you.
Nikolas: Yeah, I'm going to go take one of the launches out, ok? I'll see you soon?
Jason: You ever feel like leaving and never coming back?
Sam: Yeah, Jason, I have felt that my entire life -- until I met you.
Jason: I did everything I could, but I swore to Michael that no one would ever find out that he killed A.J. Sam, he believed me. Now that's shot to hell.
Sam: That is not through any fault of yours, Jason.
Jason: Yeah, well, maybe not, but he's away from his mom, his dad, his brother, and there's no telling when he'll ever see them again.
Sam: He has you.
Jason: Well, maybe that's not enough.
Sam: It is enough for Michael, Jason, and it's enough for me. We are a family out here. Everything is going to be ok. What, you don't buy it?
Jason: No, it's not that. Something is eating at me. It was sitting in the back of my head, like when I was the only one who believed Michael was really alive.
Michael: Hey, if you knew I didn't kill A.J., then why didn't you tell me before?
Jodie: I was afraid you'd freak out.
Michael: Then why did you tell me now?
Jodie: You're running away because the police think you did it, but they're wrong.
Michael: How do you know?
Jodie: I was at the hospital that night. I saw what happened in A.J.'s room.
Michael: How come I didn't see you?
Jodie: You don't remember half of it, but I remember it all.
Michael: Tell me everything.
Jodie: Don't tell anybody I'm here. They'll send me back.
Jason: Hey, buddy. Are you ok?
Sonny: You got it wrong. This is not -- this is not about trust.
Reese: Then why are you lying to me, Sonny?
Sonny: Because -- I'm not lying to you. This is for your protection.
Reese: I know that you want to protect Michael.
Sonny: Yeah, and you, too!
Reese: And, Sonny, you told me you were going to bring in Sam and Jason and Michael
Reese: And what did you do? You went and you helped them to escape. How is that protecting me?
Sonny: Ok, first of all, Durant is charging Sam and Jason with Michael’s kidnapping. He knows you're not involved. I wanted to keep you out of the loop so that way you wouldn't be an accomplice to the crime.
Reese: So why didn't you just tell me that?
Sonny: Because I wanted to keep you clean. Besides, if I would have, you know, let you in on it, you might have figured out a way to try to -- you know what I'm talking about.
Reese: What, to screw things up?
Sonny: No, to help. Look, you just opened up a new law firm, right? You don't need bad publicity, bad press.
Reese: I don't know if I believe you, Sonny. Come on.
Sonny: Well, I have no reason to make it up.
Reese: Yes, you do.
Reese: Of course you do. Because if you found out that I felt like you manipulated me, you know that I would be out of here so -- or you think that I would be out of here so fast.
Sonny: I like having you around. You might have forgotten that, and I'm being straight with you right now.
Reese: I am trained to know when people are lying to me, and you are so damn good at it and I have such a hard time at being objective about you.
Sonny: You think I'm lying right now?
Reese: I think you're still holding back, and you probably don't even know that you're doing it. But you keep me at arm's length, you do, and you just give me, like, a little bit here and there, you know? So when, Sonny, are you truly going to open up to me? Or is this as close as I'm ever going to get?
Sonny: We handle things differently. And I know when it comes to Michael, you care about him, and I know that you lost your own son. But what I'm --
Reese: This isn't just about Michael, Sonny. This is about you.
Sonny: Reese, I'm trying -- I'm trying to open up here.
Sonny: All right?
Reese: I mean, I realize that. I'm sorry.
Reese: I know you're trying.
Sonny: When Michael was kidnapped, I told you things about me and my life that could have got me locked up.
Reese: Yeah, but those were facts. I'm talking about feelings.
Sonny: I don't know -- what is it that you want from me? Just tell me. What?
Reese: I don't know, Sonny. You're -- you're a complicated man with complicated emotions, and I just feel like you keep some things so tightly guarded and it feels to me like you're hiding things from me. I don't know what to make of that.
Sonny: Well, I could say the same about you.
Reese: You think that I keep things inside?
Sonny: Well, I mean, you know, everybody does. People always keep secrets.
Reese: I guess so.
Sonny: All right? That's what makes us less vulnerable when we're a kid. And as you get older, you know, you still try to keep your defenses up.
Reese: So you had secrets when you were a kid?
Sonny: I was hurt by people that I trusted, and I had to learn how to protect myself. Maybe that's why I'm so overprotective with Michael, you know, because it's a way for me to survive. You know what I mean?
Reese: You trust Jason.
Sonny: I trust him with my life. But that's different than trusting somebody with your heart.
Ofc. Logan: Emily Cassadine?
Emily: What do you want?
Ofc. Logan: D.A. Durant wants to see you downtown to answer some questions about the disappearance of Michael Corinthos.
Jason: You sure you're ok?
Jason: You know you can talk to me about anything.
Michael: I know.
Jason: I know that we had to leave suddenly. I bet -- I bet you miss your mom and dad.
Michael: A little, but I'm glad I'm with you, and it'll be fun living on a boat. Maybe I'll finally get to see the places you read to me about when I was a little kid.
Jason: All right, I'll tell you what -- Sam and I will take you to Spain and Egypt and Kenya -- another time. But for now, we're sailing the Caribbean.
Jason: Are you positive that you're ok about being on this boat trip?
Michael: Yes. I feel much better. It's almost like the bad stuff never happened.
Jax: Elizabeth is the surrogate. We're the baby's parents.
Courtney: I know, but --
Courtney: Well, for the next nine months I'm basically not needed, and --
Jax: Hey, no, no, no, no, no, I need you.
Courtney: I know, but it's just Elizabeth is the one who's pregnant, having checkups, taking prenatal vitamins, feeling the child growing inside her, and I --
Jax: You're the one who's about to be a mother. I mean, seriously, what's nine months compared to the rest of our lives?
Courtney: True, but still --
Jax: No, no, no. No, no. We have a lot of work to do, you and I, the two of us, together, ok, because there's a lot of things that we need to get. There's baby furniture, there's the car seat, and there's a lot of that other paraphernalia I have absolutely no idea about.
Courtney: Well, I've got it covered, I do. Oh, and we need to take a childcare class at the hospital, too.
Jax: You see? See how much I need you? I would have never thought of that.
Courtney: Mm-hmm. You know, you are going to be so cute with this baby.
Jax: Our. Our baby.
Courtney: Our baby. Ok, our baby.
Courtney: You know, I can just see you carrying her around.
Jax: "Her"? What if it's a boy?
Courtney: No, I don't think we have any control over that part.
Jax: Then I guess we should just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Courtney: Mm-hmm. Good. Well, then, ok. In the meantime, you can look through all of these, and we'll just make a decision when I get back.
Jax: You're going?
Courtney: Yeah. The foundation is taking in this girl for a few days rather than letting her sit in juvie, so I have to be there soon to file the paperwork.
Jax: "Soon" sounds flexible.
Courtney: No, I really have to go, I do.
Jax: No, really, come on, give me five minutes. Really.
Courtney: Well --
Jax: Hmm? Come on.
Courtney: Ah! You know, you're pretty good at negotiating. I bet it comes in real handy with your business deals.
Jax: It's even better at home.
Courtney: Is it?
[Knock on door]
Courtney: I guess fate is keeping us apart.
Jax: Not if I can help it.
Elizabeth: I have some news about the baby. I'm not interrupting something, am I?
Jax: No, no, no. Come in.
Elizabeth: Thanks. I had my first checkup today, and I just wanted you guys to know that the baby and I are both in excellent condition.
Jax: Oh, that's great.
Jax: That's fantastic news. Isn't that great?
Courtney: Yeah, it's great.
Jax: So, what are all these numbers and figures?
Elizabeth: The test results, which are all very good.
Jax: So this is, like, the baby's first report card?
Elizabeth: Yeah, that's exactly what I thought.
Courtney: Well, I'd better get going before I'm late.
Elizabeth: All right. Yeah, I have some laundry to do, so I'm going to get going, too. Hey, are these for the baby's nursery?
Jax: Yeah, Courtney and I were just picking out fabric.
Elizabeth: Oh, they're great. Do you mind if I throw in my artistic two cents?
Nikolas: Emily, you want to take a break and come --
Lucky: Nikolas, it's Lucky. You might want to get down to the station.
Nikolas: Why? What's going on?
Lucky: Durant had Emily brought in for questioning about her brother and Sam about running off with Michael.
Nikolas: I'll be right there.
Mac: Spencer? We need to go over a few things.
Lucky's voice: Just let her go. Leave Maxie with us and just take off, ok? We won't stop you.
Ofc. Murphy's voice: Sorry. She's my insurance policy, and no one's going to shoot at me as long as I have her. Now, come on, let's go, let's go.
Maxie's voice: Ok, ok.
Ofc. Murphy's voice: Let's go! Ow!
Maxie's voice: Oh --
Mac: Interesting tape.
Maxie: Is that it? Is that all you have to say? Dad, is it really that hard for you to admit that Jesse was innocent and I was right?
Mac: I have to finish up here, Maxie. We'll talk at home -- about a lot of things.
Mac: The wire was a nice touch -- not that I enjoyed knowing my daughter was in danger.
Lucky: Mac, I'm sorry. If I had --
Mac: I don't want to hear your excuses, Lucky.
Jesse: It's my fault, sir.
Mac: You know, both of you were supposed to protect Maxie. If this is your idea of doing so, we've got a big problem.
John: Oh, you might want to use that phone to call your lawyer.
Emily: Or try to call my brother so he'll find out I'm here and come back?
John: Smart girl. Not smart enough to talk your brother out of running off with my grandson when he's wanted for murder.
Emily: No comment.
John: Well, you'll make one soon enough. See, I got everybody in this town exactly where I want them.
Reese: It's not just your heart that's involved, Sonny. It's mine, too.
Sonny: So, you insisted I should have let you in on the plan for Jason and Sam to take Michael?
Reese: I could have helped. I mean, come on, this wouldn't have been the first time that I compromised everything for you.
Sonny: So you're telling me you wouldn't have tried to talk me out of it; wasted valuable time?
Reese: All right, you know, Michael is on the run without his family.
Reese: His worst secret is on the front page of the news, Sonny.
Sonny: See? Even now you're trying to talk me out of it.
Reese: Ok, fine, I admit it.
Reese: I just would have let the old-fashioned justice system take its course but -- all right, you know what? This wasn't my call to make, and I'm going to back you up no matter what you decide to do next.
Sonny: All right, I -- ahem -- I appreciate that.
Reese: It doesn't make me look weak in your eyes?
Sonny: Weak? I would never think of you as weak.
Reese: So how would you describe me?
Sonny: Let me see, let me think. Hmm. Smart. Maybe a little strong, right? Very sexy. Right? I don't know.
Sonny: I'm sorry. Hello.
Emily: Sonny, it's Emily.
Sonny: Where are you?
Emily: I'm at the PCPD. Listen, I think I'm going to need some help.
Sam: Well, we've had quite a day, haven't we?
Sam: Yes, we have.
Michael: I'm wiped.
Sam: Good. That's good because you need to get some sleep, ok?
Jason: And Sam’s the captain, you better listen to her.
Michael: Aye, aye, capitaine.
Sam: Oh, that's right. All right, we're going to be on deck if you need us, ok?
Michael: Aye, aye.
Michael: I like that -- saying that.
Sam: What's wrong?
Jason: I'm still not sure.
Michael: Jodie, come on.
Jodie: What do you bet they're going to go kiss or something?
Michael: Just tell me what happened the night A.J. died. If I didn't kill him, who did?
Mac: Sit! Sit down, Lucky. I told you not to expose Maxie to danger and you ignored me.
Lucky: We thought Maxie had left.
Mac: You thought wrong. You know how Maxie gets when she sets her mind to something.
Jesse: We screwed up. But she's safe, and Murphy’s in custody. It's over.
Mac: Unfortunately, it's not. Murphy's at the hospital, not admitting to anything.
Lucky: And you know he's guilty. You have our testimony.
Mac: But that doesn't solve the drug problem, and it's not going to stop overnight. You two are officially partners as of now.
Jesse: Does this mean that I'm no longer suspended?
Mac: Effective immediately.
Jesse: So I'm still Detective Beaudry, and he's still Officer Spencer?
Lucky: Ok, wait a second.
Jesse: So that makes me a superior.
Lucky: No way.
Jesse: "No way, sir."
Mac: Hey, get over it, both of you. And, you -- you so much as glance at my daughter, you'll be on traffic detail.
Jesse: Yes, sir. See you later, partner.
Lucky: Mac, I know I should have done a better job watching Maxie, but don't make me answer to this punk.
Mac: Think of it more as being "this punk's" chaperone.
Lucky: So you want me to just watch over Jesse and make sure he stays away from Maxie?
Mac: Bingo. And if he doesn't, you're going to be writing parking tickets right alongside him.
Elizabeth: You could do a whole skyscape with this -- I mean, a moon, stars, clouds. This is --
Jax: It's a really nice idea, but this is kind of Courtney’s project.
Elizabeth: Yeah, of course. I was just throwing my ideas out there, that's all.
Jax: Yeah, she wants to do it herself. You know, she picked out all the swatches, met with an interior designer, and she's really on top of this. This is going to be a really, really beautiful nursery, and I love what she's --
Courtney: Jax, hey, it's ok. If Elizabeth wants to help, I'm fine with it. Look, you're welcome to look through the swatches if you want.
Jax: Yeah, but you were just down to the final choices.
Courtney: Jax, honestly, it's ok, it's fine. I'll see you guys later.
Jax: Ok, so, say we were to go with your skyscape theme. What fabric would you pick?
Elizabeth: You don't have to pretend. I realize that Courtney wants to do this with you and not me. You're the parents. It's your nursery.
Jax: Well, you used to be a professional artist. I would appreciate your opinion, really.
Elizabeth: That's what's going to make you such a good dad. You're very sensitive to people's feelings -- mine, Courtney’s, and soon this little baby’s.
Jax: I can hardly wait.
Elizabeth: Excuse me for a minute. Hello?
Lucky: Hey. I'm -- I'm sorry I'm running late. Where are you? I'll come pick you up.
Elizabeth: Hey, I'm a Jax’s. Where have you been? I've been worried about you.
Lucky: Yeah. We busted Murphy, and somehow the paperwork doubles when shots are fired.
Elizabeth: You were shot at?
Lucky: Yeah. Listen -- I shot and injured Murphy but, listen, I'll just explain it to you when we get home.
Elizabeth: Ok -- I'll see you soon, honey. I love you.
Jax: Hey -- are you ok?
Elizabeth: It's nothing.
Jax: Ooh --
Emily: What makes you think I had anything to do with Michael’s disappearance?
John: Oh, come on, you and I both know that Sonny and Jason have a habit of using women in their criminal activity.
Emily: Like you're doing now?
John: You are becoming dangerously close to being charged as an accomplice.
Reese: And you're close to being charged with violation of a citizen's rights to counsel before questioning -- or in this case, railroading.
Sonny: You ok?
Emily: Yeah, I'm -- I'm fine. He has nothing.
John: You're hiding your brother, Sam, and Michael on Spoon Island. Right now I got officers out there gathering evidence --
Sonny: You have a search warrant?
John: Emily aided and abetted!
Reese: In other words, you don’t.
John: All right, look, you're both stonewalling. A family of fugitives is on the run, you know where they're hiding, and you're breaking the law by remaining silent.
Reese: Emily, you're free to go, and whatever Durant’s goons have against you will be inadmissible.
John: If Jason and Sam don't turn themselves in, I'm going to move forward and charge them, and I got plenty to prosecute.
Nikolas: Maybe you didn't hear right. Emily's free to go.
Emily: I want to thank you for coming.
Sonny: No, hey, thanks for calling.
Emily: All right. Listen, I know that you're upset that I called Sonny and not you.
Nikolas: You're just lucky you're not in jail, Emily.
Emily: Can we talk about this somewhere else, please?
Nikolas: Well, that doesn't surprise me. We don't talk about much of anything anymore.
Sam: All right, you see those lights out in the distance there? That is the sea islands of South Carolina. We can stop there and pick up some supplies.
Jason: You know, the police might know what we look like.
Sam: No, no, no, no, no, Jason, it's a heavy tourist trade. I can easily blend in. Plus, I think a few people there owe me some favors, so -- why are you looking at me like that?
Jason: Because of you.
Sam: Me? What, you don't think I can pull it off?
Jason: I think -- I think you miss this life.
Sam: I used to love being at sea, yes. Jason, on land, you know, people disappointed me, and out here at sea I could be myself and I felt free and independent. I think I felt safest here -- until I met you.
Jason: The time I spent away from Port Charles I -- I traveled everywhere. You know, if a place caught my interest, I would just go.
Sam: Oh. I bet you loved it, too.
Jason: I loved the same things you did -- independence, freedom. And the best was I'd go days without talking to another soul.
Sam: I can imagine.
Jason: You know, Sam, I think I talk more with you than I ever have in my entire life.
Sam: Good. Because I like listening to you.
Jason: That's the part I missed. When I traveled, you know, I'd see something just amazing and want to be with someone I could share it with, someone who understood, someone who got it. I finally found her.
Sam: Uh-oh. We have company.
Jason: What's wrong, buddy? Did you have another nightmare?
Michael: There's something I have to tell you.
Michael: We're not the only ones on this boat.
Maxie: Jesse, hey. Are you ok? Is everything cool with my dad?
Jesse: Yep. It's over. Thanks for your help.
Jesse: I got what I wanted from you. Murphy's busted and I'm in the clear. You go back to your clean-cut, middle-class life.
Maxie: You don't mean that.
Jesse: You served your purpose, ok? You gave me the help that I needed, and I gave you the adventure you were looking for. We'll call it even.
Maxie: No, no, we meant more to each other than that and you know it.
Jesse: I was playing you, Maxie. If you don't want to see that, then I don't know what to tell you.
Maxie: No, I don't, because I don't believe you. We had a connection right from the start. In my hospital room you told me --
Jesse: I told you what you wanted to hear, and you bought it. I don't need you hanging on anymore.
Maxie: You know, for an undercover cop, you're a pretty bad liar. I almost get hurt, so you're -- you're protecting me by pretending to dump me.
Jesse: I'm not pretending.
Maxie: Well, I'm not giving up on you.
Jesse: You don't have a choice.
Jax: Just sit back and put your feet up.
Elizabeth: I'm ok.
Jax: No, no, really.
Elizabeth: Jax, I'm fine --
Jax: Come on, you fainted, ok? I don't want that to happen again.
Elizabeth: It won’t. I just got really worried about Lucky, that's all.
Jax: Yeah, I heard that -- you said he was shot at?
Elizabeth: Yeah, he was involved in busting a bad cop.
Jax: Did he get hurt?
Elizabeth: No. No, thank God, but just the thought that he could have been really --
Jax: Yeah, you know, it's a cop's life. You know, it must really be hard on you.
Elizabeth: I mean, I get that his job is dangerous but, God, you have no idea how hard it is to watch him walk out that door every morning, knowing that he might not come back that night. This is exactly what I was worried about when I was with Jason, and now here I am in the same situation with Lucky. There's not a whole lot I can do about it.
Nikolas: Look, I can believe that you would hide Jason, Sam, and Michael in the grottoes. I -- I don't blame you. What I can't buy is why you wouldn't let me know about it.
Emily: What are you more angry about, Nikolas? That, or the fact that I didn't come to you when I was in trouble?
Nikolas: Well, tell me, why didn't you? Huh? Why didn't you?
Emily: I was afraid that I -- I might jeopardize Jason or Michael or Sam.
Nikolas: What? What, you thought that they wouldn't be safe if you told me?
Emily: That's not what --
Nikolas: What, do you think I would tattletale on them, turn them all in?
Emily: I was trying to stay quiet, Nikolas. I didn't think it out past that.
Nikolas: Think it out -- you didn't think it out at all, Emily. You took a huge, unnecessary risk by hiding them that could have cost you your career as a doctor. I mean, if you absolutely felt that you needed to do, you could have at least let me help you.
Emily: And have you try to talk me out of it like you're doing right now, Nikolas? I was careful. I made sure that nobody was --
Nikolas: The bottom line is that if you would have been caught you could have gone to jail. And you knew that, so why in the hell did you do it in the first place?
Sonny: She was only doing what we asked her to, and we didn't want you involved, Nik.
Nikolas: I'm talking to my wife right now.
Sonny: I was protecting my son.
Nikolas: Your -- and what -- yeah, what about Emily, huh? Who -- who was protecting her? Certainly not you because people around you either end up getting injured or they end up getting killed. You know, I'm -- did you even care that you might be putting Emily in danger? Did you care?
Sonny: Emily could have said no. We would have understood.
Nikolas: Emily would never go against her brother, but that -- you knew that already, which is probably what you were counting on, no?
Sonny: Emily's loyal.
Nikolas: And you took advantage of it, because that's what you do, Sonny Corinthos. You use people to get what you want. In the end, that's just all that matters to you, isn't it?
Emily: Stop it, Nikolas.
Sonny: You don't understand what you're talking about.
Emily: You're not mad at Sonny, you're mad at me, ok? This isn't about anything but us and our crumbling marriage.
Nikolas: Well, so much for working it out, huh?
Jason: Michael, what are you talking about? Did you hear someone else onboard?
Michael: Well, it's my friend Jodie. She stowed away.
Sam: Ok, wait a minute, I thought you said that Jodie’s family moved her to a different town.
Michael: They did, but she lied to them and ran away. She's been staying at the house for a few weeks now. I've been hiding her.
Jason: Michael, how did she know we were going to get on this boat? We didn't even know that ourselves until the last minute. Did you call her?
Michael: No. I don't need to. She kind of always knows where I am.
Sam: Ok -- Michael, why is she here?
Michael: Oh, she had to tell me something. She said that I didn't kill A.J., and she knows who did.
Jax: Can I get you anything else?
Elizabeth: Oh, Jax --
Jax: Like, do you want a cup of tea or water?
Elizabeth: No. I'm fine. Listen, occasional dizziness just comes along with being pregnant.
Jax: Well, the stress of Lucky's job isn't helping. Can I get you some chicken, because we have some leftover chicken? Are you hungry?
Elizabeth: No, no. God, you are going to spoil this child rotten, aren't you?
Jax: If you'll let me.
Elizabeth: Do you mind if I give you some child-raising advice?
Jax: Be my guest.
Elizabeth: Loving the child, letting them have every opportunity is great, just as long as they learn to earn things in life. I mean, don't let them expect to be handed everything.
Jax: You know, Cameron’s a very lucky young man.
Elizabeth: Tell me that when he's a teenager, will you?
Jax: You know what? Tell me every tip that comes through your mind in the next nine months, ok? Anything that'll help.
Elizabeth: Oh, really? Well, I hope you don't regret saying that.
[Knock on door]
Jax: Lucky, come in.
Lucky: Hey, I'm sorry I'm late.
Elizabeth: Hi, baby. Oh. Jax and I were just going over some -- some nursery things. Lucky, is this what I think it is?
Lucky: Listen, Murphy got off one shot.
Elizabeth: Oh, God.
Lucky: It's ok.
Elizabeth: Ok -- I'll just -- I'll sew it up when we get home, all right?
Jax: You know, Lucky, being a street cop puts a lot of -- a lot of stress on Elizabeth. Have you ever thought about transferring to a desk job?
Lucky: Yeah, the pay is lousy.
Jax: Well, I mean, I could make up the difference -- at least until the baby is born.
Lucky: Listen, I'll tell you what you can do with your money.
Courtney: Wow. I taught you well.
Nikolas: Sorry. I'm having a lousy day.
Courtney: Yeah, join the club.
Courtney: Yeah, the usual. Now we just keep trying to connect, and we're just growing further and further apart.
Nikolas: Yeah, well, you're way ahead of me and Emily. We're not even talking.
Sonny: I'm sorry about coming in between you guys, arguing --
Emily: No, no, no, no, it's -- it's not your fault. It's just -- oh, you don't need to hear this.
Sonny: If Jason were here, would you tell him?
Emily: I can tell Jason pretty much anything.
Sonny: You think maybe you can think of me like a stand-in brother? I don't listen as well as Jason, but I can try.
Emily: It's what I blurted out to Nikolas about our crumbling marriage. I know how much that hurt him.
Sonny: You think maybe you can tell him you didn't mean it?
Emily: But I did. I just didn't mean to hurt him, and I can't help myself. We keep trying to get back to that comfortable, easy relationship that we used to have.
Emily: You know, maybe that's part of the problem. We never had to try before. Everything just came so naturally. We were always in sync.
Sonny: Well, that's great, you know, but sometimes it's just hard to keep that up.
Emily: And I know Nikolas still loves me and I love him. But despite our best intentions, we keep missing. You know, instead of growing closer, all we're doing is getting frustrated and more resentful. You know, what we had was so wonderful, and now it's so painful. I just don't understand how that could happen.
Reese: Excuse me, Emily? I have a court order for you from John Durant, and it's not good.
Michael: Come on, Jodie. Sam and Jason are my friends. Tell them who really killed A.J.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Lucky: I'm not about to bury my career to satisfy a control freak.
Nikolas: Sonny has now made himself Emily’s protector.
Sonny: What is it this time?
Reese: It names Emily as the person of interest in the disappearance of Michael.
Sam: Hi, Jodie. It's nice to finally meet you.
