Maxie: Don't you dare, Georgie. Turn around.
Georgie: I have to go, Maxie, so you can have my heart.
Maxie: The only thing I want is for you to live.
Tony: No response.
Nikolas: I told the guard you'd want to see me.
Emily: Yeah. Always.
Nikolas: See, I knew you'd say that. Emily, I love you, but you need to stop telling me what you think I want to hear.
Reese: Oh, damn it! Oh!
Ric: Shh, shh. No, no, no, don't scream, don't scream. Don't scream. I've had an interesting night. Your ex-husband tried to kill me -- Charlotte.
Sonny: Somebody want to tell me what the hell's going on?

Reese: How did you know I was here?
Sonny: I got a better question. How did your ex-husband end up dead, and why?
Ric: I -- I killed him, Sonny.
Sonny: You killed him?
Ric: It was self-defense, all right? Look, I also called the cops, and the two of you better get out of here before our newly appointed D.A. Durant decides to make this a murder and frame you for it.
Jason: No, he canít. Forensics is going to tell what happened.
Ric: Oh, come on, you think a little thing like the truth is going to stop John Durant? Jason, look, he can switch the forensics, he can do whatever he needs to in order to make Sonny look guilty. Look, it's my mess, all right? I'll clean it up.
Ric: Look, you didn't do anything, all right? Just get out of here before you make things more complicated than they have to be.
Sonny: He's right. Let's go. You, too.
Reese: Sonny, I canít.
Emily: You're still mad at me, aren't you?
Nikolas: What am I supposed to feel, Emily? You let Sonny kick me out of here. When I asked you to come with me, you refused to go. What --
Emily: Sonny misinterpreted the argument that we were having, Nikolas, and I needed to make it clear to him that I'm not in an abusive relationship.
Nikolas: Oh, is that what he thinks? Huh? Yeah, of course it is. Violence is always the answer for Sonny, isn't it?
Emily: I told him that you were frustrated, ok? Justifiably so. And as I heard myself saying the words, Nikolas, I realized that you were right. I have been using Michael, at least in part as a reason to hide, not from you, but from myself.
Nikolas: But I don't know. What does that mean? I don't know what that means.
Emily: I want to put the rape in the past and get on with the wonderful life that we planned together, but it's not that easy, Nikolas. And when it doesn't happen in a timely manner, I get frustrated, ok? I feel helpless and weak and I want to do something where I can feel effective, that you feel some sort of forward motion, and Michael gives me that right now. I'm better at being his godmother than I am your wife, and I know it's not fair, and I'm working really hard to try to turn that around.
Nikolas: "Working"? If you have to work at it, Emily, then what is the point?
Lorenzo: Have the jet fueled, ready to go.
Diego: Hey, you think you could finish that on your cell phone? I'm waiting for the hospital to call me and update me on my friends.
Lorenzo: I'll get back to you. What happened?
Diego: Well, Maxieís not doing great at all, and Georgie fell and hit her head, and they're both critical.
Lorenzo: I'm sorry.
Diego: Yeah, well, look, I was waiting in the lounge, sitting and waiting for the news, and I felt like I was intruding, and I came back here, and I'm just thinking I want to do something, ok, like find a way to help. I don't know how.
Lorenzo: Well, sometimes it isn't in your power to help. Believe me, I know how frustrating that can be.
Diego: Anyway, I'm sorry for interrupting. Sounds like you're planning a trip. Thanks.
Lorenzo: Uh -- I was just indulging my own frustration. Carly and I had a disagreement.
Diego: Over what? I'm sorry. I shouldn't ask.
Lorenzo: You can ask me anything.
Diego: I -- I'm still trying to get used to this whole father-son thing.
Lorenzo: Yeah, well, we're both finding our way around that.
Diego: Ok, so what's going on? I mean, you and Carly just got married. You're already fighting?
Lorenzo: Carly is waging war against Sonny's current girlfriend. She doesn't think she's good enough or trustworthy enough or -- God knows what.
Diego: All right. Carly and Sonny have been together for a long time. And if Carly doesn't like Sonny's girlfriend and if the girlfriend's going to be coming around, be in contact with the kids --
Lorenzo: You think I'm being unreasonable.
Diego: I'm just saying --
Lorenzo: You're probably right.
Carly: Mom! Oh, I need your advice.
Bobbie: Oh, Carly, not now.
Carly: I'm so worried about Sonny's new mattress babe. It's just like I -- why, you might ask. Because she's an F.B.I. agent!
Bobbie: Carly, please donít. No, I can't do this right now. I really can't, not now.
Carly: Well, you're upset. What's wrong?
Bobbie: Maxie is rejecting B.J.'s heart, and Georgie just had emergency surgery, and she might not make it.
Carly: Oh, my God.
Bobbie: And if she doesn't survive, Felicia and Mac are thinking about giving Georgieís heart to Maxie.
Carly: I'm so sorry. I had no idea.
Bobbie: And so, you know, it's just like the day that B.J. passed, and I don't understand why God's making all of this happen again.
Carly: Ok. History doesn't always repeat itself. Maxie and Georgie could both come out of this being just fine. It's ok to hope, mama. It's more than ok; it's necessary. Hold on to that, and I'll hold on with you.
Monica: Let's hope this epi helps.
Tony: This isn't looking good. We're losing her.
Maxie: I don't want you to die for me, Georgie. I want you to live. You have so many wonderful things to look forward to, and I want you to have every bit of it. Marry Dillon and have three brilliant but really strange kids. Write the greatest novel since "To Kill a Mockingbird." Climb Mount Everest, never leave Port Charles -- it doesn't matter, as long as you live a long and happy life that has so much love in it.
Georgie: Maxie, I want those same things for you.
Maxie: So do I. But if it's not meant to be, then I expect you to go on for both of us. Make every second count double and know that I will always be there with you, loving you even more than I do today.
Monica: Oh, her B.P.'s coming up. And she's breathing on her own.
Felicia: So it's ok? I can breathe again? My baby girl's going to be ok?
Tony: Yeah, at this point, there's every indication that Georgie will make a full recovery.
Felicia: Hey, did you hear that? Did you hear that? You're going to be as good as new.
Mac: You are such a trooper, Georgie. We love you so much. We're so proud of you. All of us.
Dillon: Hi. We were worried there for a minute, but Tony and Monica say you're going to be ok, so --
Felicia: Maxie's going to be ok, too. You'll see.
Monica: Um -- Mac, Felicia, I need to talk to you.
Felicia: Why do you look serious again? You just said Georgieís going to be ok.
Monica: This is about Maxie.
Nikolas: Being together used to be so easy, you know. And now, yeah, it does feel like work. I second-guess everything that comes out of my mouth. I'm constantly watching for your reaction every time I try and get close to you. It's no good, Emily, not for either one of us.
Emily: Ok, so what are you saying?
Nikolas: I'm saying that I love you, but my love is hurting you more than it's helping you. So I'm just going to keep my distance.
Emily: Nikolas, no.
Nikolas: Listen, listen, listen. It's not to punish you. It's just the opposite. I'm going to give you the space you need to heal.
Emily: Nikolas, wait. I love you.
Nikolas: And I love you, too.
John: Well, you keep this up; people are going to start to think you're as lethal as your brother.
Ric: It wasn't intentional, Durant. There was a struggle for the gun.
John: Mm-hmm. Maybe you want to start from the beginning.
Ric: Look, Evan was a prime suspect in both attempts on Reeseís life. I saw a picture of him, I recognized him in the hospital, and I -- I decided to follow him.
John: This might be a good place to remind you that it is no longer your job to be chasing suspects --
Ric: Look, do you want to hear this or not, Durant?
John: Oh, I'm going to hear it.
Ric: Ok, look, Evan was already here. I saw him pacing back and forth, checking his watch. Obviously, he came here to meet somebody. So I approached him, I told him I knew who he was, and I asked him why he was here. That's when he pulled the gun.
John: That's it?
Ric: Yeah, that's it.
John: No provocation? No conversation?
Ric: Look, all right, look, there's a struggle for the gun, Evan was shot, he's dead, I called 911. What more do you want from me? I'm a little upset here. That's when Reese showed up afterward.
John: Evan was meeting you here?
Reese: Yes. I was going to tell him that we caused each other enough heartache, beg him to leave town, but I was too late. Evan was already dead when I got here.
John: Well, it all seems very straightforward and aboveboard, a little bit too much for my suspicious mind. Anyway, it is all going to come out sooner or later. So if there's anything you want to tell me, you might want to do it now when it matters. Did Evan say anything of any interest before he died?
Jason: Sonny, it didn't make sense to leave before the cops showed up. There's no way either one of us is going to be implicated for Evanís death.
Sonny: Durant might have tried to twist the facts to make it look like Ric lied on my behalf.
Jason: You know what's more likely? You know what's more likely? He didn't want us to hear what he was going to tell the cops. Same goes for Reese. It's no coincidence that she, Ric, and her dead ex-husband were all in the same place, not wanting us anywhere around.
Sonny: Reese may have lied. Ric didnít.
Jason: When in the hell did you start trusting Ric?
Sonny: Say what you want about Ric, but he came through for me in a major way when he acquitted me of A.J.'s murder. He lost his marriage and his career, so what do you say?
Jason: That's fine, that's fine. That doesn't mean you can trust him.
Sonny: He just proved it. He doesn't want to send me to prison. Ok, he's the one who insisted we leave the scene of Evanís murder.
Jason: Ok, you remember when Ric first showed up?
Jason: How hard he worked to get you to trust him, while he was lying through his teeth? He lied about where he came from, who he was, why he was here.
Jason: He came to Port Charles to destroy you, Sonny. He kidnapped Carly when she was pregnant, chained to a wall like an animal so he could try to --
Sonny: Ric had -- he had a breakdown. He went temporarily insane. Obviously, it runs in the family. How can I hold that against my brother when it's happened to me more than once?
John: All right, this was just a preliminary interrogation. I plan on having you both come down to the station for further questioning.
Ric: Nobody has anything to hide here.
John: We'll see.
Reese: You know that's not true. We both know that I have plenty to hide. But you lied to protect me. Why?
Ric: I'd like to hear your version of the events.
Reese: What did Evan tell you?
Ric: Well, he told me a lot of things, but most interesting was that you and Carly knew each other in high school.
Reese: Yeah, she was Caroline back then.
Ric: So it's true?
Ric: So were you close?
Reese: You could say that.
Ric: What happened?
Reese: We got in a fight.
Ric: Look, I don't really feel like pulling this out of you, Reese. What kind of a fight?
Reese: It was a simple high school girl fight. And then I got in my car and Caroline didn't, and I got creamed head-on by a drunk driver. I spent weeks comatose and months in plastic surgery fixing my face.
Ric: So that's why Carly didn't recognize you?
Reese: I don't look anything like I used to.
Ric: But you recognized her, right? When did that happen, exactly? Was that before or after you were assigned to find her children?
Reese: About two years before.
Reese: The F.B.I. file on Sonny Corinthos came across my desk, and there she was, Mrs. Carly Corinthos, A.K.A. Caroline Benson, my old high school pal. And she had the handsome, powerful husband, and a little boy who'd be about my son's age if he had lived. I don't know what to say. It didn't seem fair that Caroline had everything that I was supposed to have.
Ric: And you decided to take it back.
Carly: I had a friend growing up, and I used to pretend she was my sister. But it was just a game. There wasn't that connection the way real sisters take turns being strong for each other. The funny thing is I never met B.J. but I feel that sister connection to her. I feel like I know what B.J. was like, because I can see her in your eyes. I'm your daughter, too, and I'm here now. I love you, mom, and I want to do anything I can to help you.
Bobbie: Carly, thank you. Thank you very much, because that means more to me than I can say.
Carly: Are you sure there's nothing I can do to help you?
Bobbie: You pray, and pray for Maxie and for Georgie to live. Ok? I'm going to go, because I want to go check on them.
Carly: I'll wait.
Bobbie: Oh, no, no. You don't need to wait. I'm going to be just fine. You know something, honey? You've helped me a lot more than you'll ever know.
Lorenzo: Hey. I'm glad you're still here.
Carly: Oh. I'm glad you came back.
Bobbie: Hey. What's going on?
Tony: Prognosis for Georgie is good. Barring something completely unexpected, she should make a full recovery.
Bobbie: Oh, yes!
Tony: But Maxie is growing weaker, and Monicaís ordered a whole new round of tests.
Dillon: I promise you I'm going to stay with you until you wake up and every single millisecond after that. Your parents think they're sick of me now. You watch. You're going to be sick of me. I think I realized something tonight, and that is that you are my world. You're my whole world. You know, our parents, they call it puppy love or whatever, and they say that we're not old enough to know our own hearts, but they're wrong. This is it. This is how I'm going to feel for the rest of my life.
Felicia: She's in the room across the hall.
Maxie: How is she?
Felicia: Your sister came through surgery like the champ that she is.
Maxie: Don't worry, mom. She's going to be ok. She's going to live a long, happy life. She promised me.
Monica: None of the medications we've tried are working. Maxie's blood pressure is staying way too low, and she's -- she's going into renal failure.
Felicia: What does that mean?
Monica: It means if she continues to deteriorate, she could have total organ shutdown. She will die.
Reese: I'll admit it. I have resentment toward Carly.
Ric: That's a very clinical way to describe something red-hot.
Reese: What do you mean, Ric?
Ric: Oh, I think you know. Tell me, how many nights have you stared into the bottom of a wine glass, Reese? Hmm? Stomach all in knots thinking about all the different ways that it should've been? Reminding yourself that Carly had everything that should've been yours, and you're justifying any means necessary to get back what was stolen from you.
Reese: So how do you know about it?
Ric: Sonny's my brother, remember? He's the one who grew up with our mother. He's the one who snubbed his nose at law enforcement every day, and he went home to that cozy little family that he made. Reese, I felt the very same way about Sonny as you do about Carly, and let me tell you what I learned. Revenge is worse than pointless. It is counterproductive.
Reese: I've already figured that part out for myself. And whatever vague ideas I might've had at getting back at Carly, I'm over it.
Reese: I'm over it.
Ric: Ok, so that's why you're with her ex-husband?
Reese: I'm attracted to Sonny because I'm attracted to Sonny.
Reese: Ric, it has nothing to do with Carly.
Ric: All right. If you want to have any measure of happiness with this man, just take some hard-won advice from me. Be honest with him, Reese, just tell him who you are.
Reese: If I tell Sonny the truth, I'll lose him, Ric.
Ric: Ok. I know this is your decision. You just better make damn sure that Carly doesn't recognize you as her old friend Charlotte Roberts.
Carly: I know you think I'm jealous of Reese, but it's more than that. I have a bad feeling about her.
Lorenzo: Carly, you don't have to explain or defend yourself to me unless you feel an overpowering need to. Look, I don't want us to have the kind of relationship you had with Sonny where I'm policing your thoughts, telling you how to feel --
Carly: Hey -- we just worked out our first marital problem.
Sam: For the record, anything you say to me, nothing at all leaves this room. Promise.
Emily: Ok. Thanks.
Sam: You're welcome.
Emily: I needed to hear that. Um -- I'm afraid that I'm going to lose Nikolas because I can't be close to him, you know, physically.
Sam: Come here. Well, do you think that it's because of the rape or because he looks almost exactly like your attacker?
Emily: Well, I'm in therapy and I'm definitely making progress. I'm able to separate Nikolas from Connor, you know, for the most part.
Sam: Well, that definitely sounds like progress.
Emily: Yeah, but that's where I'm stuck. You know, the memories don't come, but I'm always on alert, waiting for them to sneak up and ambush me when I least expect it. So it keeps me outside myself, outside the moment, and Nikolas knows me so well. He can sense it, you know, that I can't let go enough to really be with him. So he tenses up expecting rejection, which is what it is, you know, no matter how lovingly I try to do it, and --
Sam: I think you do, ok? I think that the elephant in the room is called sex. Let's face it. Nikolas has been in prison for, what, at least six months now. He'd be frustrated even if you hadn't been raped, but you were. And you have kind of shut that part of yourself down --
Sam: So Nikolas is shutting that part of himself down so he doesn't hurt any of your recovery. It's a stalemate, Emily, and you are the only one who can break it.
Emily: So you think I should make love to Nikolas?
Sam: Well, I think that's your call, but if you want my advice, I think you should try. Trust the love between the two of you, that bond, Emily, that bond that goes deeper than any other. If Nikolas can give you back your body, your sensuality, well, you couldn't give you -- or him -- a more precious gift.
Sonny: I have not forgotten the hell Ric put Carly through. How could I? But I know what makes me weak -- how passionately I can hate, the dark thoughts that fill my head -- and I can't get past them. And I think Ric has those tendencies, not some wack job, you know, who goes out kidnapping pregnant women just for fun. He was a grieving father, an envious brother who snapped. Since then, he's done everything he could to rebuild his life, and when I needed him most, he came through. You may not like it, and I don't expect you to, but at least you have to admit that Ric is not out to get me anymore.
Jason: What about Reese?
Sonny: Well, yeah.
Jason: She worked just as hard to get you acquitted as Ric did. Are you just going to overlook the fact that she lied to you tonight?
Jason: You going to make excuses for Reese --
Jason: Like you are for Ric, because what if you're wrong? What if you can't trust either one of them?
Reese: Then I would think Sonny would tell me to my face.
Monica: We'll continue to administer medication, but -- uh -- it doesn't look good.
Mac: Is -- uh -- is Maxie in pain?
Monica: No. No, no. She's comfortable. She's sleepy. Eventually, she will lose consciousness and her -- her heart will stop. I -- I just wanted to say this to you -- uh -- because this would be the time to say your goodbyes.
Felicia: Absolutely not. I am not going to walk in there and tell Maxie that she's dying.
Felicia: We are going to encourage Maxie to fight for her life and stay with us as long as she can, whether it's seven minutes or seventy years.
Dillon: Dr. Jones? Is there any chance that Georgie will wake up in time?
Tony: Even if Georgie regains consciousness, she should not be moved, all right?
Bobbie: I just never thought this was possible. I never thought B.J.'s heart would ever fail Maxie.
Tony: I know. It's like we're losing her all over again, isn't it?
Maxie: Did I fall asleep again?
Mac: Hey, it's ok.
Maxie: No. I want to stay with you guys.
Dillon: Ok, Georgie, I know what you would want, so you need to help me give it to you now. Ok, wake up, or you're going to miss out on your last chance to see Maxie. I need you to wake up. I need you to wake up. Hear my voice, ok? Hear my voice. Hear me. Listen -- listen to my voice. Wake up. Wake up. Thank you. Thank you. Ok.
Georgie: What's going on?
Nikolas: You shouldn't have come here.
Emily: Nikolas, I realized something -- I don't want space, I want you.
Nikolas: All right. All right, this isn't fair, ok? I'm trying to do the right thing; I'm trying to respect your need for distance. You can't come in here and say --
Emily: Nikolas, you want to make love to me, don't you? It's ok. I will. I want to make love with you.
Nikolas: Well, I'm not sure who you're trying to convince, me or you. Regardless, it's too soon. That's obvious.
Emily: No, it isnít. Look, Connor didn't leave me physically damaged, and therapy's helped me to make the separation between you and Connor. It's exactly the right time.
Nikolas: And what if it isn't?
Emily: Well, then I'll need your love and your understanding and your patience. Nikolas, I don't know how I'm going to react to lovemaking, but we can't keep going on like this. Putting it off is going to tear us apart and I don't want that to happen.
Nikolas: I just -- I don't want to hurt you.
Emily: Then help me heal. Nikolas, I trust you with my heart and with my body. Make love to me.
Reese: So how did you end up on the pier tonight? Somehow I don't think coincidence is the answer.
Sonny: I just had you followed.
Reese: Oh. So I guess Jason has nothing to worry about, then, because you really don't trust me.
Sonny: I trust that you're stubborn, that you're resourceful, that you are annoyingly independent. That's probably why you didn't come with me when I asked you to. You sent me in the wrong direction because you believed that I was going to kill Evan, so you were going to do everything you could to -- for that not to happen.
Reese: So then you're not angry?
Sonny: I'm not angry. I just want to know what the hell is going on. Why are you so vulnerable, and what does this Evan guy have on you? Did you go to Evan tonight because you wanted to kill him?
Reese: No. No.
Sonny: Well, I mean, it would've been understandable. I mean, his arrogance cost you your son. That kind of rage you have inside -- anybody would understand that, right?
Reese: I didn't want Evan to die, Sonny. I just wanted him to go away and take my past with him -- the person I was, the choices I made -- because it doesn't matter anymore. That part of my life -- it's over. Do you believe me?
Sonny: I want to believe you, but you've lied to me more than once -- I mean, about a dangerous man, a potential threat. I don't take that lightly.
Reese: I know, Sonny.
Sonny: Now you say that, you know, you sent him away. How do I know that's not a lie, you know? And one lie leads to another lie, and then all of a sudden all you've got is lies. I've gone down that road with Carly. I can't -- I can't do that. I can't do that anymore.
Reese: I know, Sonny.
Sonny: So what I'm saying to you is if you can't be honest with me, you can just go ahead and leave, no harm done.
Reese: Is that what you want?
Sonny: I just want the truth.
Ric: Why'd you call me here?
Jason: Why don't you tell me how you found Reeseís ex. How he ended up dead.
Ric: I already gave my statement to Durant.
Jason: Yeah, well, thanks to you, I wasn't present to hear it. But I'm listening now. Be sure to include the reason you were so anxious to get rid of me and Sonny. Come on, Ric, I know you're hiding something. Why don't you just tell me what it is?
Nikolas: Are you ok?
Emily: I'm a little nervous, but I love you and I want this.
Nikolas: Ok, just -- you have to promise me that if you start feeling scared or panicked or anything, just -- just tell me, ok? I won't get angry.
Dillon: Maxie's heart is failing. She's in the room across the hall. She's dying, Georgie.
Georgie: Dillon, I need to be with my sister.
Dillon: I know, I know. Just so you know, Tony said you shouldn't be moved.
Georgie: Listen, don't tell him I'm awake. Just please, please get me to Maxie.
Maxie: You've been such a great dad. How do I thank you?
Mac: You don't have to. You and Georgie have been an incredible blessing to me.
Maxie: And an incredible curse.
Mac: Yeah. Yeah, that, too.
Maxie: Thank you for always being there to take care of me. You know, for making pancakes every Saturday. I don't know many dads who would do that.
Felicia: You're talking too much, ok? You just rest for a while.
Maxie: No, I'm just -- I'm just really tired, but I want to say all this. I love you, mom. And I really am sorry for every single fight we had, and for being so judgmental. You're my hero.
Felicia: And you're mine. I am very proud and feel very blessed to have you as a daughter. Maxie? Sweetheart?
Georgie: Mom? Maxie?
Felicia: Maxie? Maxie, wake up, sweetie, Georgieís here.
Georgie: Maxie? Maxie, can you hear me?
Maxie: Hey, Georgie. I've been waiting for you. I wanted to say goodbye.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Ric: It happened exactly the way I said.
Jason: What, are you Sonny's big defender now or it is Reese?
Sonny: I'll never lie to your face, and I don't want you to lie to mine.
Georgie: I will not say goodbye.
Georgie: No, Maxie.
