Georgie: Maxie's arteries are blocked. She's going to need another operation.

Maxie: Georgie, what else did Monica say?

Georgie: Maxieís supposed to be asleep.

Maxie: Don't look so scared. I may be sick, but I'm not dying.

Courtney: I am going to marry Jax. I'm sorry you don't like it, but it is not up to you.

Jane: I saw you in Jasonís arms. I told Jax.

Courtney: Why?

Jane: If Jax really were in love with you, he would be here now, fighting for you, trying to work things out.

Courtney: Do you know where Jax is?

Jane: Flying away in his jet, I hope.

Courtney: I can't believe you did this.

Jane: I don't mean to cause you pain. But I had to tell Jax the truth. It's better for everyone. Now Jax can escape with his heart intact, and Jason is all yours.

Jason: You're going to marry Courtney today if I have to drag you to the park myself.

Jax: Why would I want to marry Courtney when she was just downstairs hugging on you? I mean, it's obvious that she still has feelings for you.

Carly: Oh. I can't believe you brought her here.

Sonny: Carly, Reese -- she's my guest.

Carly: Right, right, of course she is. This whole wedding is about the wrong people being together.

Sonny: Carly, you promised you would not ruin Courtneyís wedding.

Carly: So did you. And look who you showed up with.

Reese: I knew this was a mistake, Sonny.

Sonny: No, no --

Carly: But what -- what, he talked you into it, though, right? Let me guess. Uh -- he doesn't want to rush into anything. The wedding's a family event. A perfect chance to show you off to everyone, right?

Sonny: Is there a point to this, Carly?

Carly: Sonny's only doing this to hurt me. You get that, right?

Sonny: Ok -- you need to back off.

Courtney: You never wanted this wedding to happen.

Jane: Well, I've made no secret of that.

Courtney: You never trusted me.

Jane: I don't have to trust you; Jax does. And you've shown him today that he can't, at least not with Jason.

Courtney: Ok, not that I owe you an explanation, but Jason was wishing me well. He wants for me to be happy. He knows that I love Jax.

Jane: I don't mean to be unkind, but Jax broke his heart over Brenda, and they never stood a chance because she was always in love with another man, and so are you!

Courtney: No -- I want to make Jax happy. Ok, I want to be the kind of wife he deserves. I want to spend the rest of my life with him, and there's no way in hell I'm going to let you take that away from me.

Jason: Jax, I went -- I went to see Courtney about Michael. The kid is hurting, ok? I'm sorry; it was bad timing. Courtney and I are over. We both know it. Why don't you know it? What is this?

Jax: Those are my wedding vows.

Jason: "My entire life has been leading to this moment. You've made me the happiest man alive." It's obvious that you love her.

Jax: I do. I do love her. This is ridiculous. I'm -- I'm going to marry Courtney. I am.

Jason: Go.

Jax: I'm gone. Oh, hey -- please do me a favor and keep this between us, you know.

Sam: Dr. Quartermaine, hi. Um -- do you know where Dr. Thomas' office is?

Alan: What happened to your face?

Sam: What? Oh.

Alan: Did Jason hit you?

Sam: No! Gosh, no, of course not. Do you know where his office is?

Alan: You know he's a child psychiatrist?

Sam: Yes, I know that.

Alan: I hope to God you're going to go see him about Michael. He's grieving terribly over the loss of A.J., and I'm sure that Carly and Sonny won't allow him to express his feelings.

Sam: Look, do you know where his office is, please?

Alan: Second floor, number 254.

Sam: Thank you very much.

Brook Lynn: Hey.

Diego: Hi. How are you?

Brook Lynn: Sorry. Look, Diego, I was completely unfair. All right, I could have been supportive about your new car and --

Diego: No, no, no, look, I -- I'm the one who's sorry. Um -- you know what? Because I got mad at you, and -- and Maxie got in the middle of it, so --

Brook Lynn: Oh. Uh-huh. Oh, ok. So this is for Maxie? That's nice. Um -- you're here to see her, then, right?

Diego: Yeah. Well, you know, she's -- she's sick, so --

Brook Lynn: Right. Well -- um -- look, it's really cool of you to bring her the bear. I think she'll really like it.

Georgie: They're going to give you an angioplasty, you know, get all the gunk out.

Dillon: It's kind of like a roto-rooter for your arteries.

Maxie: Yuck.

Dillon: Yeah. And they're probably going to put you on one of those heart-smart diets. You know, nothing but broccoli and tofu all day long.

Maxie: You're making me feel so much better.

Mac: Hey. How you doing?

Maxie: Angioplasty?

Monica: It's a fairly routine procedure, Maxie, and it may just be all you need.

Maxie: And what if it isn't?

Monica: Well, let's just take one step at a time, shall we?

Felicia: You're going to be out of this hospital before you know it.

Sonny: Why are you acting like this?

Carly: You could have warned me.

Sonny: You know I'm seeing Reese. Why -- don't get yourself all upset about that.

Carly: Admit it, Sonny. That's why you brought her here. You want me to be upset.

Sonny: We decided to move on. That's what I'm doing.

Carly: So what if I strolled in here with Lorenzo?

Sonny: Well --

Carly: Yeah, that's what I thought.

Sonny: Ok -- no.

Carly: No, it's ok for you to move on, but I'm supposed to, what, just stand around and watch?

Sonny: I'm not doing this to hurt you, so I don't understand what -- where are you going?

Carly: No, you're not doing it to hurt me. You're just moving on with your life -- got it. You look beautiful.

Courtney: Have you seen Jax yet?

Carly: No, I haven't seen him anywhere.

Courtney: Oh, God, she was right.

Carly: Who?

Courtney: Jax's mom. She said that he wasn't going to show up for the wedding.

Carly: Wait -- so did Jax walk in on you and Jason? I didn't tell him to go up there, I swear.

Courtney: No, Jax didn't. Jane did. And she saw something, or at least she thinks she did. I -- I don't know --

Carly: Ok, what happened?

Courtney: Jason just wanted the name of a doctor for Michael, and --

Carly: So, what, they couldn't deal with it until five seconds before you got married?

Courtney: Well, maybe he just wanted to wish me well, Carly -- which he did. Jason is happy that I'm happy. But then I thanked him, and we hugged, and Jane saw us. She misinterpreted, and she told Jax.

Carly: So Jax disappeared?

Courtney: Yeah, it looks that way.

Carly: Hmm. Look, I'm really sorry --

Courtney: No, Carly --

Carly: I hate to say this --

Courtney: Don't you dare say that this is for the best, ok? I love Jax. I love him. I know that you don't like that, but I do. And I want to marry him. And I cannot believe that one misunderstanding is going to ruin everything.

Carly: Courtney, if he's bailing on you without giving you a chance to explain --

Courtney: No -- you know what? I -- I'm going to find Jax, and I am going to make him understand. I am. I don't care if we get married today, or ever. I -- he is still the man that I love. He is still the man that I want to spend my life with.

[Guests applaud]

Jax: Hey, thanks for coming.

Ned: You look good.

Carly: I don't believe it.

Courtney: I do. Jax trusts me. Even when he has no reason, he still gives me the benefit of the doubt. I should have known he'd show up. Because that's the way marriage works, Carly. You show up for the person you love.

Georgie: Well, the infection's complicated everything a little bit, but -- well, Monicaís done 1,000 angioplasties, and she was there for her transplant.

Brook Lynn: Which is great. You know, it's great, because Monica knows exactly what she's doing.

Georgie: Are you ok?

Brook Lynn: Why didn't we bring Maxie, like, something, you know? Anything -- just to be thoughtful and to make her feel better.

Georgie: Well, I -- I brought Maxie some magazines. There's -- you know, Brook, there's nothing you can really do --

Brook Lynn: Diego brought her a bear.

Georgie: Oh.

Brook Lynn: Yeah.

Georgie: Brook, I'm sure it's just like he said. He's just being thoughtful.

Brook Lynn: No. Um -- I think -- I think Diego actually likes Maxie.

Georgie: You guys had a fight. You'll get through this.

Mac: Is that for Maxie?

Diego: Um -- is that ok?

Felicia: I suppose so. Just don't stay too long, all right?

Diego: Ok.

Mac: How do you know Maxie?

Diego: Um -- I donít. Well, no, I -- I don't very well, but I was there when she collapsed. And I want her to be ok.

Maxie: Mom? Mac? Please stop interrogating my visitors, especially the ones who bring me presents.

Mac: All right, we'll be down the hall.

Maxie: Bye.

Diego: Hey, maybe this is a bad time, so --

Maxie: No, no, don't worry about them. They -- they just had some major problems with your uncle.

Diego: Yeah, from what I hear, so did everyone else so -- oh, yeah -- this is for you, so --

Maxie: I love him. He's really cute.

Diego: Love -- him? Wait, how do you -- how do you know that's a boy? Maybe she's a girl, and she's someone you can talk to and tell her your secrets and stuff.

Maxie: Are you implying that I can't tell my secrets to a boy?

Diego: Uh -- well, I guess that depends on the boy.

Bobbie: Hey, Maxie. We have to prep her.

Diego: Oh, sure. No problem. I'll -- I'll be here when you wake up.

Maxie: Ok.

Diego: Good luck.

Maxie: Thanks. Diego --

Diego: Hmm?

Maxie: Thank you.

Sam: Dr. Thomas? Dr. Thomas?

Dr. Thomas: Ahem -- oh.

[Dr. Thomas coughs]

Sam: Actually, I -- maybe I have the wrong room.

Dr. Thomas: No, no, no -- I'm I I'm Dr. Thomas. Consider it a power nap. I should have locked the door.

Sam: I can come back later. That's not a problem.

Dr. Thomas: No, no -- do we have an appointment?

Sam: Um -- I'm Sam McCall. I called about a 9-year-old boy.

Dr. Thomas: Oh, yeah, yeah, you weren't very specific over the phone. Come on in.

Sam: Thank you. So, I am concerned about some legal issues.

Dr. Thomas: Did the boy attack you?

Sam: What? No. This? Uh-uh. It was his mother, actually, and I started it, so --

Dr. Thomas: Well, if you're concerned about domestic abuse --

Sam: No -- look, we were in a bar; I punched her. That's not why I'm here, so I'd rather not discuss it if --

Dr. Thomas: Understood.

Sam: Ok, um -- where are you on, you know, the -- the doctor/patient thing? Specifically, confidentiality?

Dr. Thomas: Oh, well, I -- I consider doctor/patient confidentiality to be sacred.

Sam: So, you never, never tell anybody anything?

Dr. Thomas: Whatever a child tells me stays in this room.

Sam: Even though by law, at some point, you might be subpoenaed?

Dr. Thomas: No.

Sam: No matter what?

Dr. Thomas: No matter what.

Sam: Good. Good, I like you already.

Dr. Thomas: The feeling's mutual.

 [String quartet plays]

Grace: Hi.

Courtney: Hey.

Bridget: Hi.

Courtney: Hey.

Bridget: Hey, you guys. Look at you. You look gorgeous.

Courtney: Oh, thank you, all of you, for coming. It's really nice to have the moral support.

Bridget: That would be us.

Grace: Come on, hurry. We're -- we're late.

Bridget: Bye.

Courtney: Good bye. Thank you.  Thank you. Both of you. Well, I know that you had your doubts. I'm just glad that you could put them aside and be here today.

Mike: I -- I love you, sweetheart. And I wish you and Jax all the happiness in the world.

Courtney: I love you, too, daddy. Whew. Oh.

Carly: Are you absolutely sure?

Courtney: Positive.

["Bridal march" plays]

Mike: Take care of my princess.

Jax: I will.

Mike: I love you.

Courtney: I love you.

[Music stops]

Minister: Everyone, please be seated. We are gathered here on this beautiful day to celebrate the union of two hearts, two minds, the marriage of Jasper Jacks and Courtney Matthews. If there's any reason why these two people should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now. - I'm ready! - I don't think so.

Carly: Well, don't look at me.

Minister: Jax, would you like to go first?

Jax: I -- I had my vows written down. But something happened this afternoon. And it made me think about if what we were doing is right. I tried to imagine my life without you in it. And I couldnít. Because you and I belong together. I love you, Courtney. And I want to share my life with you. I want to see you smile. I want to hold you when you cry. I want us to be partners, lovers, and best friends. I realized today that if I can't trust you, we have nothing. No matter how much I love you, we can't survive without trust. So from this day forward, I promise to trust you. No holds barred. No questions asked, no matter what, as we live this life together.

 [Monitor beeps]

Felicia: It's like before. I just waited and I waited and I still can't help her.

Mac: Hey, hey, hey. Hey -- but she lived. Felicia, she lived, ok? And she's going to make it this time, too. We just have to hold on. Ok?

Bobbie: Her pressure's dropping.

Bobbie: Monica?

Monica: Damn.

Bobbie: Her pressure's still falling.

Monica: She's got a coronary spasm. What's her E.K.G.?

Bobbie: 120.

Monica: All right, 200 cc's normal saline right now.

Monica: Let's abort the procedure. The angioplasty's the least of our worries right now. Now we just need to get her stabilized.

Dr. Thomas: Well, issue all the subpoenas you want. I will not testify against my own patient. Sorry for the interruption.

Sam: What was that about?

Dr. Thomas: Well, I can't give you the details, but a -- a teenage client of mine confided things in a session that a D.A. in the next county wants disclosed.

Sam: Well, do you have to comply?

Dr. Thomas: Not a chance. I mean, they can take me to court if they want, but I will not repeat what my clients tell me. Sorry for pontificating. Why don't you fill me in on Michael? I take it he's not your son?

Sam: No. Michael Corinthos III -- like I said, he is not my son. I am just very concerned.

Dr. Thomas: As well you should be. I followed that case.

Sam: Yeah. A lot of people did. Too many, in my opinion, if you ask me.

Dr. Thomas: Well, John Durant should be disbarred as --

Sam: I absolutely agree with you.

Dr. Thomas: Yeah, I'm surprised that Michael isn't already seeing someone.

Sam: Well, you know, his -- his parents -- they kind of don't want to rush into things.

Dr. Thomas: Well, he's obviously been severely traumatized.

Sam: Dr. Thomas, would you -- would you meet with him?

Dr. Thomas: Yeah. But if I don't work out, I -- please, get him to another doctor right away. I mean, Michael needs help as soon as possible.

Sam: Yeah.

[Knock on door]

Dr. Thomas: I'm in a meeting.

Sam: I am really glad you made it in time. Dr. Thomas, this is my better half, Jason Morgan. Jason, Dr. Thomas.

Jason: We know each other.

Courtney: I love you, Jax. It took me a long time to understand that. I was so caught up in not loving you, so determined to protect my heart, that I didn't realize I had already given my heart to you. You have taught me so much -- about appreciating life's gifts, about trusting myself. You have been so patient while I learned what you already knew -- we belong together. You're the one I want beside me in the good times, and the one I want to lean on in the bad. I trust you, Jax. And I will never, never give you reason not to trust me. You're the man that I want, the man that I love. And I can't wait for us to start our life together.

Minister: May we have the rings?

Ned: Ahem. Here you go.

Minister: Jasper, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to honor and love her, to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others?

Jax: I do.

Minister: Courtney, do you take this man for your husband? Do you promise to honor and love him, to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others?

Carly: No, she doesnít.

[Guests murmur]

Courtney: Carly, don't do this.

Carly: Courtney, I have to.

Courtney: Carly, you promised not to do this.

Carly: This whole thing is wrong, and we all know it.

Georgie: Maxie should be out of that procedure by now.

Dillon: She will be.

Georgie: You know, it's -- it's really weird having her sick. I don't know how to feel. You know, I know she's not some saint. She's still Maxie, but -- oh, but I'm starting to realize just how precious she really is. I feel so stupid and so guilty for every time I've ever been jealous and I think Brook understands or at least, you know, she kind of feels the same way because Diego and Maxie hardly know each other and, you know, he bought her a present and everything like that and --

Dillon: Diego got her a present?

Georgie: Yeah. It was a stuffed animal. It was no big deal.

Dillon: Oh. I should've done that.

Georgie: You wanted to get her a present?

Dillon: Yeah, you know, because that's a good idea, you know? It helps a little bit -- get her a present.

Georgie: That's thoughtful, Dillon.

Dillon: I don't know. I mean, Maxieís been so grateful. It seems like every second, every day that she has B.J.'s heart, it's like -- it's like she knows that she's living on borrowed time. I mean, we all are, in a way. She's being really incredible.

Dr. Thomas: I consulted with Kevin Collins after Jasonís accident. He experienced severe head trauma.

Jason: Yeah, Sam knows all about that.

Dr. Thomas: I admire the progress you've made despite the considerable limitations to your cognitive functions.

Jason: We'll let you know about Michael. Let's go.

Sam: Ok.

Courtney: Carly, you promised me you wouldn't do this.

Carly: Ok, I can't let you ruin your life.

Courtney: I am not. This is what I want!

Carly: You'll never be over Jason, not really, not in your heart.

Courtney: Carly, that's not true.

Carly: How can you promise your love to one man when your heart is with another?

Courtney: My heart belongs to Jax.

Carly: He's the consolation prize. This is a consolation wedding.

Courtney: Carly, you are my best friend even when I want to wring your neck, and believe me, I really do right now. I know that you want what's best for me, and I promise you, Carly, this is it. I found love again with Jax. Sometimes you just have to let go to realize what is actually yours. You have to stop running to see what is right in front of you. Sometimes things don't turn out the way you planned. Sometimes they turn out better, and that's what happened for me, and I pray to God that happens for you, too. However good it was, the past is the past and you can't go back or you are going to throw away all the possibilities that are ahead of you. God, Carly, look -- I love Jax. I do. I am committed to him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him, no doubts, no hesitations. I am sure of Jax, and every day for the rest of our lives, Jax can be sure of me, too.

Carly: I hope you're right.

Jax: Well, what's a wedding without a little excitement?

Jax: You were saying?

Courtney: I, Courtney, take thee, Jax, to be my husband for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. I promise to love, honor, cherish, and trust you for the rest of my days.

Minister: I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.

 [Monitor beeps]

Dillon: How you feeling?

Maxie: How do you think?

Diego: Told you I'd be here.

Bobbie: Oh, it's way too soon for visitors. Give Maxie a chance to wake up.

Maxie: Bobbie.

Bobbie: Hey, sweetie, how you feeling?

Maxie: I saw her. She's fine.

Bobbie: Who did you see?

Maxie: B.J. She came out of this really bright light and she held her hand out to me. I think she's been waiting for me this whole time.

Bobbie: Well, anesthesia can do strange things.

Maxie: She seemed happy. I could tell.

Bobbie: Well, I dream about B.J., too, all the time.

Maxie: This wasn't a dream exactly. She really seemed to be there. I -- do you think she wants me to go with her?

Felicia: Barbara Jean wants you to stay here and fight. She gave you the life that you have right now. She wants you to live it.

Jason: I just -- I just don't know about Dr. Thomas. I should've recognized the name when Courtney gave it to me.

Sam: Ok. But, look, he is exactly what you said we needed. Dr. Thomas swears by patient/doctor confidentiality, he seemed easy and approachable, and I think -- I really do think it's someone that Michael would feel safe with.

Jason: What do you think?

Sam: What? I mean, it doesn't really matter what I think, Jason. You're the one who has to make this decision.

Courtney: Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone. Thank you all for being here to celebrate our new life together.

Woman: Aw.

Ned: Well, isn't it time for the bride and groom to have the first dance?

Skye: Yeah.

All: Yeah.

[Music plays]

Jax: We made it.

Courtney: Hmm -- barely.

Jax: Well, nothing worth having ever comes easy. And you and I together -- it's worth everything.

Alexis: Has there ever been a more perfect ex-husband than Jasper Jacks?

Skye: If there was, I never married him.

Ned: Who's ready to join the happy couple?

Alexis: Ok.

Reese: You want to dance?

Sonny: Um -- you know what? I think it's best that -- Jax and I, we're not exactly great friends, you know. I don't want to cause any more tension.

Reese: Because it's so much more relaxing just to stand here glowering.

Sonny: I'm sorry. Look, I should have never pressured you into coming here. And I know that I did and all that, but --

Reese: Not a problem, Sonny. You know what? My hotel room is right downstairs, so I think this is the perfect time for me to make a graceful exit. Tell your sister and Jax congratulations, ok?

Lorenzo: May I join you?

Carly: Sure.  I really -- I really blew it this time.

Lorenzo: No. You made several valid points.

Carly: You were at the wedding?

Lorenzo: It's a public park.

Carly: I made a complete fool of myself.

Lorenzo: No. Not necessarily.

Carly: Courtney was right, though. You can't go backward. The past is over. You need to let go to see what's right in front of you.

Mac: So how's she doing?

Felicia: Tell us, please, exactly what happened.

Monica: Well, Maxie had another heart attack on the table.

Felicia: Oh, my God!

Monica: It was mild and we got it under control, but we had to abandon the angioplasty.

Mac: Will you try again?

Monica: Well, the wall of her heart was compromised and the infection just made it worse.

Felicia: Will she recover?

Monica: We're going to have to start thinking of getting her a new heart.

Felicia: Oh, God!

Sam: Look, I don't want Michael to see Dr. Thomas unless you feel good about him, ok?

Jason: The problem is I hated all the doctors who treated me after the accident.

Sam: Well, was Dr. Thomas mean to you?

Jason: Nah -- I mean, not really. I was -- you know, I was mad and he was there. You know, this doesn't matter. It's not about me. Michael -- Michael needs help, and Dr. Thomas is exactly who we've been looking for. He's not going to go to the cops about what Michael did to A.J. so --

Sam: So --

Jason: Can you -- can you make the appointment?

Sam: Are you sure? Are you sure?

Jason: Yeah.

Sam: Yes.

Jason: Let's just -- I need to do this for Michael. I'm sure, ok?

Sam: Ok, ok. I'm going to do it.

[Phone rings]

Dr. Thomas: Dr. Thomas.

Sam: Hi. It's Sam McCall. I would like to go ahead and make that appointment for Michael.

Dr. Thomas: Does Jason understand what we're doing?

Sam: Yes, of course he does.

Dr. Thomas: Ok. What about Wednesday the 8th at 2:00?

Sam: Excellent. Sounds good.

Dr. Thomas: All right. I'll see Michael then. I look forward to helping him.

Sam: Ok. Thank you very much.

Dr. Thomas: We're in.

 [Music plays]

Jax: Pretty good dancer, Mrs. Jacks.

Courtney: Oh, why thank you, Mr. Jacks.

Jax: I -- I have to speak to her.

Courtney: Well, I hope you can work something out.

Jax: Ok. So do I.

Courtney: Ok. Good luck.

Jax: Mom?

Jane: I really don't know what to say. I keep wondering what your father would do.

Jax: He would enjoy the party; find a way to appreciate Courtney. And he'd be happy because I am.

Jane: I only want you to be loved.

Jax: I am. I know that you're worried, but think of this marriage as Alaska. Remember? We packed up everything, we struck out on faith. We made all our dreams come true. Well, that's what Courtney is for me.

Jane: Well, then all I can do is wish you the best, dear.

Jax: Come with me. May I have everyone's attention? I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful wife. Made me the happiest man alive.

Man: Hear, hear!

All: Hear, hear!

Carly: It took making a fool of myself to realize how wrong I've been.

Lorenzo: No, you were just worried about your friend.

Carly: No. Courtney's figured her life out -- now it's my turn. Why should I be stuck in the past? Look at all that I have in the present -- Michael, Morgan, you. You have been here all along loving me, forgiving me, listening to me, waiting. I just didn't realize what that meant until now. Lorenzo Alcazar, will you marry me?

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Courtney: Wait here while I slip out of this dress.

Jason: How am I supposed to convince Sonny about a psychiatrist when I'm not even sure myself?

Reese: Sonny and I were over before we ever really started.

Lorenzo: What if Sonny said he wanted to try again?

Carly: He's not the man I want. Please say you'll marry me.
