Luke: Water goes in there. But where does this go? Let's see. This -- oh! You are bucking for a trip to the garbage heap! Oh, hell. Oh, damn! Oh, God. What the hell is the -- oh, just --

Emily: Ahem. Luke?

Luke: Uh, we're closed.

Emily: Need some help with that?

Luke: Yeah. Is Lucky ok?

Emily: As far as I know.

Luke: What are you doing here?

Emily: Listen, Luke, it was wrong of Nikolas to go after you like that.

Luke: It's ok. Forget it. You know, Emily, it's kind of early.

Emily: I really need to ask you something.

Luke: Well, maybe it could wait till later, because it's very early and --

Emily: How did Laura forgive you for raping her?

Courtney: Hey, Michael.

Michael: Hey.

Courtney: How you doing? You know, I missed you. I would have come by to visit you sooner, but I just wanted to give you some time alone with your mom and dad.

Michael: When were they going to tell me that dad's in jail?

Sam: Did you get any sleep?

Jason: Not much. Did you -- did you take the test?

Sam: You know, I -- I don't want to know. Just -- Jason, just --

Jason: Sam --

Sam: At least not yet.

Jason: Why? Why not?

Sam: Why? Because. You know, once I take that test, I'm either pregnant or I'm not. And if I'm not, I certainly don't need another reason to be sad this morning, so I'd like to just dream, just for a little while longer and imagine you holding our baby.

Reese: Excuse me. Jason?

Jason: Yeah?

Reese: You have to convince Sonny to stop all this. I just spent the entire night at the police station. I got nowhere with him.

Jason: Well, that's Sonny's decision.

Reese: If we all just tell the truth for once, the judge will be lenient with Michael. There is no reason for Sonny to sacrifice himself when he didn't kill A.J. Quartermaine.

Jason: Why do you care so much about what happens to Sonny?

Sonny: How's Michael?

Carly: Ok. He slept through the night.

Sonny: Well, that's good, right?

Carly: You look awful. Have some coffee?

Sonny: Carly, you know what? You need to go back home, seriously, and take care of Michael.

Carly: Jason's with him. I need you to listen to me. I think I can get us out of this. I have a plan.

Emily: I'm sorry to impose like this, Luke, but there's no one else I can ask. Every time my husband touches me, I lose it.

Luke: I don't think I can help you.

Emily: It's like the night I saw you with Skye. Luke, I lose it, ok, and the whole thing happens all over again, and I'm back in that basement.

Luke: Emily, what is it you think I can do for you?

Emily: I had so many chances to leave that house, but I didnít. I chose to stay with Connor, like Laura chose to stay close to you the night it happened.

Luke: You know nothing about that night.

Emily: Listen, Luke, it's coming out all wrong, ok? I'm sorry. It's just -- it's just that Lucky told me something about you and Laura and a disco. And you told her to leave, but she wouldnít. And you were dancing, and -- and it happened. How did you convince Laura to forgive you? To love you? It isn't the same, Luke, I know. Nikolas didn't rape me. But every time I look at him, I see Connor, and I can't let him touch me. But I love Nikolas and I don't want to lose him. And I keep thinking about you and Laura. How did you get past it? How did you start out so terrible and end up with a love that most people can't even imagine?

Luke: Emily, you asked me to help you get Nikolas out of prison. I did what I could. Now, if it cost you more than you expected, things usually do.

Emily: Ok. I didn't mean to upset you.

Luke: Well, then you shouldn't have brought it up.

Emily: I'm so sorry.

Luke: You could make it up to me. Leave.

Alexis: Do you hear the heartbeat? Isn't that cool?

Dr. Meadows: Would you like to see a picture of the baby? Look.

Alexis: Wow.

Dr. Meadows: You see the head and the tiny little fingers?

Alexis: That is so cool. Look at that. That's your little sister or your little brother. I can't tell. Can you tell yet?

Dr. Meadows: Hmm. Wouldn't you like to wait until Ric gets here so that you can hear the news together?

Alexis: You know, I'm not expecting --

Ric: Hi, sweetie. How are you?

Courtney: How did you know about your dad?  Oh, goodness.

Michael: That's why dad never came home.

Courtney: Look, honey, your mom would have told you, ok? She wouldn't have wanted you to find out like this.

Michael: Why did dad say he killed A.J.?

Courtney: Well, he was probably trying to protect your mom.

Michael: Mom didn't do it.

Courtney: Of course not, sweetie.

Michael: Do you really think my dad killed A.J.?

Reese: I'm obviously involved with Sonny. Way too involved. But I also want to help Michael.

Jason: Why can't you understand that Sonny is Michaelís father? He has to do what he thinks is best for his child. I don't --

Reese: I was the only one that was able to break through to Michael, and I know that the secret will ruin his life.

Jason: Michael doesn't remember what he did.

Reese: On some level, he has to. He does, Jason. And we're just not going to make anything better by lying to this poor kid. He has to know the truth so that he can start to learn to deal with it.

Jason: Well, you know, that's not your decision to make. If you tell the truth about Michael, you know what? Sonny will go free. But he'll never trust you again.

Carly: I'd have confessed if I had known about Michael. I'd confess, same goes for Jason. You just beat him by a couple minutes.

Sonny: I know. I know I did.

Carly: We can work our way out of this. We can save it, Sonny.

Sonny: No.

Carly: I have a plan.

Sonny: Let Jason -- let Jason take care of this.

Carly: Jason is part of it. Jason's going to take us out of the country, and I'm going to write a letter to Ric and send copies to Mac and Durant. And I'm going to explain to them that Michael killed A.J.

Sonny: No!

Carly: Sonny, you know that you can't go to prison.

Sonny: I do not want you telling anyone about Michael.

Carly: There's no evidence against you except the confession. We are going to be in a new country with new identities, the whole bit. When you're exonerated, you can come visit us. Michael won't know what he's done.

Sonny: Enough! No, no! It's not an option. Carly, it's not an option. You and Michael are not going anywhere.

Lucky: Emily. How you doing? You ok?

Emily: Yeah, just tell me I'm a fool, ok? A total, blithering idiot.

Lucky: Ok, what happened?

Emily: You know last night when I said I was going to deal with the rape, that I was going to find a way to get through it? Well, I tried. I went straight to the expert.

Lucky: Oh, you spoke to Elizabeth?

Emily: No, I spoke with your father.

Lucky: Oh.

Emily: Yeah. You can imagine how that went. Luke threw me out, and I don't blame him. I actually asked him how he and Laura got past the rape. Can you imagine, Lucky?

Lucky: That probably didn't go over too well.

Emily: No, I know. It's none of my business. You know, I had no right to ask. I mean, how could I possibly go to Luke, of all people? I mean, that's how afraid I am.

Lucky: Actually, you seem better.

Emily: Maybe because I'm realizing that I have to deal with Nikolas face-to-face. You know, it's the only way I'm going to be able to heal.

Lucky: Here's your chance.

Emily: Lucky, wait.

Alexis: Oh, I thought it's kind of good to know if it's a boy or a girl, you know?

Ric: I just would like to wait a little while longer, that's all.

Alexis: Oh, all right. Do you want to wait until the baby's born or until the next ultrasound?

Ric: You know what, Alexis? Do whatever you want.

Alexis: Well, I mean --

Dr. Meadows: Enough. Alexis, it's your call.

Alexis: We'll wait. We'll wait -- for now. That's fine.

Dr. Meadows: Fine. Kristina, would you like to go to the nursery and look at the babies? Come on, let's go. Ok. Your parents have a few things that they need to sort out. Come on.

Alexis: I'll be out in a second, honey.

Ric: Look, if you want to know the gender of the baby, that's fine with me.

Alexis: No, it's --

Ric: I shouldn't have made an issue about it.

Alexis: It's ok. You didn't come home last night.

Ric: Did you think I would?

Alexis: You're upset that I picked up Kristina at Sonny's house?

Ric: Yeah. Among other things.

Alexis: I don't know what would upset you about that. I mean, he murdered people. He's in jail. I don't know who's taking care of her. Is it Carly, is it a nanny, is it someone else? Seemed the perfectly reasonable thing to do.

Ric: Yeah, Sonny's -- Kristinaís living with Sonny because you took her to London without notice or permission.

Alexis: Which I had the legal right to do, and he used that opportunity to snatch her from her own home.

Ric: Right.

Alexis: Enough is enough, Ric. She's paid way too much, and she shouldn't have to pay anymore.

Ric: Yeah, so has Michael.

Alexis: And Michael isn't going to testify. I think that we should just try to cut our losses and work this through.

Ric: You know, I'm not in any position to judge you or -- or anyone, for that matter. You're just not the person that I thought you were, that's all.

Alexis: If you didn't know that I was a mother who would put my daughter first and do whatever was necessary to protect her best interests, then you didn't know me at all, Ric. You thought wrong. We are both fallible human beings.

Ric: Yeah, I can't argue with that.

Alexis: I want you to come home.

Ric: Well, that's not going to happen, at least not today.

Alexis: Kristina misses you. She needs you. So if you're not going to do it for me, do it for her and for our baby.

Carly: If I write a letter telling the truth --

Sonny: Michael will find out, Carly.

Carly: No, we're going to be on a whole other continent. We're going to have new identities.

Sonny: He's going to read about it somewhere, on the internet maybe. Then he will know that he killed A.J.

Carly: Ok, then we'll deal with it.

Sonny: I don't want Michael hurt any more than he already is. We are doing this my way.

Carly: Even if you have to spend the rest of your life in a cell?

Sonny: I can do that.

Carly: No, Sonny, you canít. It will kill you, literally. It will kill you. And why? Because you feel responsible?

Sonny: I am responsible. I couldn't keep Michael safe. I let him be in that hospital. I let him -- I let him near A.J. I should have never done that. You know that.

Carly: Sonny, ok. Fine. You want to punish yourself. But why do you want to punish Michael? Why do you want him to grow up away from you? My plan will get all of us out of all this. Once the police get the letter, they'll go to Monica. They'll question her. She will tell them --

Sonny: Carly, Carly, Carly, please --

Carly: Michael did --

Sonny: Carly! I appreciate that you're trying to help. But it's not going to happen. End of discussion.

Sonny: You would rather spend the rest of your life in hell than be with your children? You're choosing to be away from Michael, knowing how much he needs you, knowing that all he wants is a real family? Ok. Ok, fine. Ok. Enjoy yourself.

John: I want to question Sonny Corinthos right away.

Mac: We may have other priorities at the moment. This just came in from Washington.

Carly: Don't let him near Sonny.

Mac: I don't think that'll be a problem.

Reese: Agent Reese Marshall with the official statement of Michael "Sonny" Corinthos Jr., regarding the murder of A.J. Quartermaine.

Sonny: I have nothing to say to you.

Reese: You made a confession. I need an official statement.

Sonny: You're trying to make me contradict myself.

Reese: It's standard procedure.

Sonny: No, you're trying to prove I didn't kill A.J.

Reese: I'm trying to find the truth.

Sonny: Don't do this.

Nikolas: You ok?

Emily: I will be. Ok. Damn it, I'm not -- I'm not going to cry again.

Nikolas: It's ok, I don't -- I don't mind.

Emily: I do. Nikolas, tears don't solve anything.

Nikolas: What would?

Emily: I wish I knew. I should be happy. I should be delirious with joy because you're free. We have another chance. And you said that you were going to wait for me, no matter how long it takes.

Nikolas: And I will.

Emily: Why aren't you mad at me, Nikolas, after how unfair I've been? I tried to divorce you. I couldn't even find the courage to meet you when you got out of prison.

Nikolas: Emily, Emily --

Emily: I wouldn't even come and see you.

Nikolas: Listen to me. You were -- you were raped by a man who looks like me. Ok? You had your reasons for not wanting to tell me, and I can't even say that you were wrong. I mean, God, if I would have known what happened to you while I was trapped in that prison with no way to help you, I don't know what I would have done. Ok? I understand. I understand that you were just trying to protect me. And -- and maybe you were right. Now, all I know is that we're together now, and I want to help you.

Emily: I know what I have to do. I'm going to go back to that basement now, on my own terms. Not Helenaís, not Connorís. I'm going to confront what happened to me in that room, and I'm going to get on with my life. Will you come with me?

Reese: I'm trying to save you.

Sonny: You're sacrificing Michael.

Reese: Hiding the truth won't help Michael.

Sonny: So are you going to put me on tape? Ask me a lot of questions designed to trip me up, contradict myself? It isn't going to happen, Agent Marshall. I'm not going to let my son spend the rest of his life in prison for killing that pig. And if you care for Michael at all, you'll leave this alone.

Reese: And what if I care about you?

Ric: You questioned him yet?

Reese: Not yet.

Ric: Good. Because I want to hear every word he has to say.

 [Pounding on door]

Alexis: Will you stop it? My daughter is sleeping!

John: Washington faxed it to Mac Scorpio. I've been reassigned to the proverbial desk job in Alaska.

Alexis: Oh, darn. It's cold there.

John: My superiors found out that I accepted a bribe to bring Sonny down. Now, how do you think that happened?

Alexis: I have no idea.

John: You told Ric, didn't you? That was stupid. You're the leak.

Ric: Ok, so let's get this rolling.

Reese: Fine. Mr. Corinthos, please take us through the events leading up to the murder of A.J. Quartermaine.

Sonny: I'd love to. I had a conversation with my business partner, Jason Morgan.

Reese: And what was that conversation about?

Sonny: Coffee shipments.

Reese: Where did that conversation take place?

Sonny: At General Hospital, in the waiting area in the emergency room.

Reese: Did anyone see you there?

Sonny: Well, I assume so. I mean, there was just a lot of people in the waiting room.

Reese: And what did you do after your conversation with Mr. Morgan?

Sonny: Well -- ahem -- I -- I got on the elevator, and I pushed the seventh floor, right? And then I got off the elevator. I turned left, and I walked down to A.J.'s room.

Reese: A.J. Quartermaine?

Sonny: That's pretty much the only dead A.J. I know.

Reese: For the record, Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Yeah, that's right.

Reese: And what did you do after that?

Sonny: No one was around, so I walked into A.J.'s room, and he was asleep.

Reese: And what, if anything, did you do after that?

Sonny: Well, I -- I grabbed a pillow, and I pushed it over his face until he didn't move. And -- and then I walked out.

Reese: So why isn't there any of your D.N.A. on that pillow, or prints on the door?

Sonny: I wore gloves.

Ric: Oh, of course.

Reese: And are these gloves still in your possession?

Sonny: No, I threw them away.

Reese: And, to your knowledge, did anyone see you in the vicinity of A.J. Quartermaine's room at any time?

Sonny: To my knowledge, no.

Reese: Ok. Thank you, Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: You're welcome.

Ric: That's very professional. Very efficient. It's also a total crock.

Carly: Ok, I'm going to write a letter explaining the truth. Then Justus is going to take it to the authorities as soon as the kids and I are safe. And Sonny will go free, and Michael will never know what he's done, and Sonny will reconnect with us eventually. Ok, it's not a perfect plan, but it's all I have.

Sam: Ok, wait a minute. When the cops get your letter, the truth will be out. Michael will eventually hear about it, Carly.

Carly: Do you have a better idea? I'm listening.

Jason: All right, I'll -- I'll start setting things up.

Carly: You'll go with us, right? Just until we get settled in?

Jason: If I don't, I'll make sure someone does.

Carly: What is that supposed to mean?

Jason: You know what? I just -- I need to check with Michael, ok?

Carly: So what am I missing here?

Nikolas: I'll -- I'll go first, ok?

Emily: Ok.

Nikolas: Want me to turn the light on?

Emily: Yeah.

Nikolas: Emily?

Emily: No, I'm -- I'm ok. Ok, I have to face this in my own way, on my own terms.

Nikolas: We can face it together, you know.

Emily: Yeah.

John: I should have started running damage control the moment I knew that you were involved in this!

Alexis: I kept my end of the bargain. I provided you with the information you needed to take Sonny down. If you got caught, that's your problem.

John: If I lose my career over this, I will go public. You will lose your law license for good, and I will make damn well sure that you go to prison for embezzlement.

Alexis: Stop threatening me.

John: You got me into this mess. I am going to get myself out of it. Now, how much damage I do along the way is up to you.

Alexis: What do you want?

John: I want your husband's job.

Sonny: You don't like Agent Marshallís questions here, Ric? Go ahead, ask them yourself.

Ric: There's no need, Sonny, ok, because you're lying.

Sonny: Can you prove that?

Ric: Not yet, but I will.

[Door slams]

Reese: I hope to God you know what you're doing.

Ric: So, what happened in there?

Reese: I took a statement.

Ric: Why didn't you get any details, huh? Why didn't you even bother to try to trip him up?

Reese: I didn't see the need. The suspect seemed clear on what he'd done.

Ric: The suspect is trying to protect somebody. And so are you, for that matter. I want to know who it is.

Jason: Your mom wants to leave the country with you and Morgan.

Michael: Are we going to the island?

Jason: Not this time, buddy.

Michael: I like it there.

Jason: Well, you know what? I'll make sure you like where you're going. I mean, we can pick a place from the globe, like when you were little.

Michael: Will dad come?

Jason: Not right away. You know, there's something I should -- I should tell you. Your dad -- he --

Michael: I already know.

Jason: I wish you hadn't seen this paper, Michael.

Michael: It's all right. Dad's been in jail before. You'll get him out.

Jason: Yeah, but you know what? It could take a while this time.

Michael: How long?

Jason: I'm not sure. And even after that, your dad might not be able to come see you right away.

Michael: Because the cops might follow him.

Jason: Yeah, that's right.

Michael: I'm not leaving dad, not when he's in trouble.

Carly: So what's going on with you and Jason?

Sam: Well, Carly, I don't want you to take this the wrong way, ok? But Jason has a life of his own. He loves you, he loves Sonny, and he loves your children, but you are not all he has anymore.

Carly: Are you pregnant? How far along?

Sam: I skipped my period, that's all. I don't know if I'm pregnant or not.

Carly: And you want to be pregnant so badly that you're afraid to take the test?

Sam: That's right.

Carly: And you feel kind of hopeful not knowing, like buying a lottery ticket and not checking the numbers. As long as you don't check, you can win.

Sam: Exactly. Whatever.

Carly: Baby or not, don't try to talk Jason out of going with us. Me and the kids really need him, and we can't do this without him.

Sam: Look, Carly, if I am pregnant, Jason will want to stay with me.

Carly: Jason wants to help Michael, and that means getting him out of the country. Do yourself a favor -- don't fight him on it. Don't tear Jason in two.

Sam: So as far as you're concerned, Jason is not entitled to a life of his own?

Carly: Jason's life includes me and my kids.

Sam: And me. Pregnant or not, like it or not, I come with the deal!

Carly: Fine. Just don't hurt him, or you'll have me to answer to.

Emily: Helena thought that she could hurt me by bringing me back here.

Nikolas: But you won, Emily. Helena's in jail now, thanks to you.

Emily: If I can beat Helena, then I can beat --

Nikolas: Tell me again what happened.

Emily: I -- I ran down the stairs. Connor was after me, and I locked the door and picked up those shears. He was pounding on the door. He begged me to open it. And then I thought he was gone, but he wasnít. I hit him. He hit me back, hard. And I fell onto this floor, under that light. I couldn't get away. He wouldn't let me go. He wouldn't stop.

Nikolas: Emily, you're ok now. Connor's gone.

Emily: Nikolas, I look at you and I see Connor, and I'm right back here in this basement on this floor.

Nikolas: May I take your hand?

Emily: Yeah.

Nikolas: Emily, please. Please. See? It's me. It's your husband.

Emily: My -- my heart knows that. Nikolas, my mind can tell the difference, but my body canít. And I'm still trapped here with Connor. I'm never going to get out of this basement.

Nikolas: Yes, you will. Listen to me. Yes, you will. I'll get you out of here.

Sonny: Justus, I don't need a lawyer.

Justus: What are you doing? Why did you waive your right to a trial?

Sonny: There's not going to be a trial! I did it!

Justus: Then let me get you in front of a jury, huh? They'll empathize with you. A.J. emotionally abused your son when he kidnapped him. I can get this thing knocked down to voluntary manslaughter, or strike a deal with Ric in the meantime.

Sonny: No!

Justus: Why are you doing this?

Ric: Look, if Sonny were confessing to protect Carly, you'd be fighting him every step of the way.

Reese: All I did was take a statement. It's my job.

Ric: So you want to see Carly get 5 to 10 for manslaughter? Reese, come on. There is a very, very short list of people that Sonny would gladly go to prison for. Carly is one of them. Jason is another. I don't know -- Mike is possible, his father.

Reese: What?

Ric: Why didn't I see this before? It's so obvious. Sonny would do anything, anything to protect his children. And the person that A.J. hurt the most -- the one who was in the hospital, who had the most motive --

Reese: Leave it alone, Ric. You've got a confession.

Ric: No, what I have, Reese, is a lie from a father who is desperate to save his son. Michael did it, didn't he? Michael killed A.J.

Carly: How's Michael?

Jason: He won't go.

Carly: What do you mean, he won't go? He has to.

Jason: He refuses to leave the country, Carly. He found out that Sonny's being held for A.J.'s murder, and he's not going to leave his dad.

Carly: Well, I have to convince him.

Jason: No, no, no. Carly, this is a mistake to push, ok? He's not all the way back yet.

Carly: Ok, then I'll use gentle persuasion -- whatever works -- because we don't have an option. Michael has to leave town. We cannot risk him finding out that he killed A.J.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Emily: We just set a house on fire. Now we're arsonists.

Sam: How do you think you're going to stop him?

Carly: Exactly how I planned.

Jason: This means you can never come back.

Ric: Fine. I'll get confirmation from Sonny. I know what you're doing. You're protecting your son.
