Alexis: It's your job. You have to prosecute Carly.

Ric: Oh, yeah. It's my job to get a conviction on my former sister-in-law who I held hostage while she was pregnant. I'm too close to all this, Alexis. I got to get out now.

John's voice: Your husband must be the one to prosecute Carly. Are we clear?

Alexis: Ric, you have to do it. You have to prosecute her. You can't just walk away.

Reese: Michael saw Carly pick up the pillow and stand over A.J. That means that Michael had to have been in that room before Carly even got there. He overheard his mother say that A.J. needed to be stopped. Now, Michael considers it his job to protect his little brother and sister and he thought he failed and that somehow it all led back to A.J.

Sonny: No.

Reese: Maybe Michael wasn't traumatized by what he saw. Maybe he was traumatized by what he did. And I hate to say this, Sonny, really more than you know, but I think Michael killed A.J.

Sonny: No. There is no way Michael could've done it. Never.

Monica: I went to A.J.'s room the night he died, and to this day, Jason, I don't know why. I don't know why I did, I -- I mean, maybe -- maybe I just wanted to look at him and see if I could find the boy that once was my son. I don't -- I don't know if it was just as benign as that, but it didn't matter anyway. When I got to his room, somebody else was in it. I saw who killed A.J.

Jason: Why didn't you say anything to me before, Monica?

Monica: Because I -- I really wanted to avoid it.

Jason: Just -- just tell me. Tell me who killed him.

Monica: It was Michael.

Michael: I'm sorry for running away and yelling at you, mom.

Carly: There's no need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong.

Emily: Ahem. Excuse me, could I have some water? I'm really thirsty. Ok, fine. Well, I'm going to --

Man: Don't move.

Emily: Have to get it myself.

Emily: Thanks.

Lucky: Dad, what do you mean that Helena took the bait?

Luke: That suitcase full of money --

Skye: That suitcase full of money was the only leverage that we had. Now that Helena has it, she's got no reason to keep Emily alive!

Mac: We didn't have a choice. Helena would've killed Emily if she didn't get what she came for.

Luke: Look, don't worry.

Skye: "Don't worry"? Emily's life is in danger.

Luke: As I tried to say, I planted a tracking device in the suitcase. We can follow it here on this screen and we'll know exactly where Queen of the Damned is holding Emily. Ok?

Sonny: Michael's a little boy. There's no way he could kill A.J.

Reese: I --

Sonny: No matter how bad he was treated by A.J. --

Reese: I hope to God I'm wrong, Sonny.

Sonny: You are wrong.

Reese: The night that A.J. was murdered, Michael overheard Carly telling me that A.J. needed to be stopped, and Carly was very understandably emotional, all right, but a traumatized 9-year-old boy could misunderstand. Michael believed that Morgan and Kristina were -- were still in trouble, that A.J. was still a threat.

Sonny: How do you know this?

Reese: Michael told me.

Sonny: So you're telling me that Michael walked into A.J.'s room, he saw him lying on the bed, he picked up a pillow; put it over his -- impossible.

Reese: When I went upstairs to Michaelís room, Michael was standing at his window. He was clutching a pillow and just staring out into space. He is haunted by a memory and it's tearing him apart, Sonny.

Sonny: Michael was emotionally abused by A.J. He's scared and confused. Does not make him a killer.

Reese: Ok. I agree with you that Michael could never kill somebody to protect himself, ok? But he saw what A.J. did to Morgan and Kristina and how he put their lives in danger. Now, if Michael thought that Morgan and Kristina could still get hurt, what would he do?

Sonny: Well, I mean, you know, whatever's necessary to protect his brother and sister.

Monica: I really didn't know why I went to A.J.'S room. He caused so much pain. He'd done so much damage. I'm his mother. I -- I just wanted it to stop. I felt -- I don't know, maybe I felt responsible, and anyway it didn't really matter. I was so upset. I was so distraught when I got there; I really wasn't ready for what I saw.

Doctor: Dr. Quartermaine. Is everything ok?

Monica: Yes, everything is just fine. My son is sleeping and I need to go over some things on his chart. If you would just follow me. I didn't -- I didn't even have time to think. Somebody was coming and I just -- I reacted on impulse. I did anything just to cover for Michael.

Jason: No, no, no, thank you. I appreciate that.

Monica: I think -- I think A.J. was already gone. But I'm a doctor, Jason. I should've tried to save him.

Jason: Monica. Monica, you saved Michael.

Monica: Oh, God. He broke so many laws. If he'd lived, he probably would've gone to prison for -- for maybe the rest of his life. And Michael has so much ahead of him, I just couldn't -- I couldn't let him get blamed for this. I went to Michaelís room later that night and I -- I just watched him sleeping. He looked so peaceful. And I prayed; I prayed that he would just wake up and think of this as all a really bad dream. He wouldn't remember killing A.J.

Jason: I don't think he -- I don't think he remembers. I don't think he knows what he did.

Monica: I know in my heart, Jason, that A.J. would not want Michaelís life ruined by this. I know that. That's why I didn't say anything. Oh, now Carlyís been arrested for A.J.'s murder, and Michael has been subpoenaed and everything is going to come out.

Jason: No, no. No.

Monica: No, if Michael gets on that stand, he could remember --

Jason: No, Michael is not going to testify. Monica, I can't -- I can't let it happen.

Carly: Honey, I know you saw me in A.J.'s room the night he died. But I promise, when I picked up that pillow, A.J. was already dead. Someone else had killed him. I didn't kill him. Do you believe me?

Michael: I believe you, mom.

Carly: Thank you, sweetheart.

Michael: Are you mad at me?

Carly: Oh, God. No, I couldn't -- A.J. lied to you. You were scared and confused, but you didn't do anything wrong and I would never, ever, ever be mad at you.

Michael: I love you, mom.

Carly: I love you, too. And I promise I'm going to help you get through this, honey.

Michael: I want to see Morgan and Kristina.

Carly: We will, first thing tomorrow morning. And you know what we could do?

Michael: What?

Carly: Well, we could turn that tree house into a clubhouse like you planned. Wouldn't that be fun? Hey.

Jason: Hey.

Carly: Jason. I'm glad you're here. Michael's feeling a lot better, aren't you, sweetie?

Jason: I'm glad to hear that.

Carly: We were just talking about Michaelís tree house and how he's going to turn it into a clubhouse for Morgan and Kristina.

Michael: Could you help?

Jason: Sure, I'll -- I'll do whatever you need.

Carly: Listen, would you guys be ok here for a while? I want to go downstairs and tell Sonny that Michaelís getting better.

Jason: Yeah, yeah, we're fine.

Carly: Listen, I talked to him and he knows that I didn't kill A.J.

Ric: Alexis, whoever prosecutes this case is going to have to force Michael to testify he saw his mother commit murder. I can't do that. The kid is my nephew.

Alexis: Ric, if you back out now, you could make it worse for him. He'll be at the mercy of some ambitious A.D.A. who wants to make a name for himself. He could terrorize Michael up there and he'll never get over it.

Ric: Then I should've never issued the subpoena.

Alexis: There are different ways to get testimony. Whereas someone may go on the attack, you would be supportive.

Ric: Oh, no.

Alexis: You can make sure that he understands that he has nothing to feel guilty about, and more than that, you can make sure that he feels safe up there.

Ric: I hate everything about this.

Alexis: I hate everything about it, too, but what happened, happened. Michael saw Carly kill A.J. and, child or not, it is your job to find some way to get that testimony from him in a safe way.

Ric: That's why it's called conflict of interest, Alexis, ok? It's a little hard for me to do my duty when I'm worried about devastating my brother's son.

Alexis: I understand that. I wish to God I never even heard Michaelís admission. More than that, I wish he didn't have to live through the horror of seeing his mother kill a man, but he did. This happened and it is your job to protect him; to enable him to give his testimony in a safe way.

Ric: You're right. You're right, I'm the only who can put Michael on the stand.

Reese: Michael's whole world has been torn apart, first by Faith and then by A.J. He's confused, nothing makes sense to him anymore, and he still wants to protect Morgan and Kristina. A.J. kidnapped them once before, and in Michaelís mind, he could do it again.

Sonny: Doesn't prove anything. I mean, you know, there's a lot of people who wanted A.J. killed.

Reese: Ok, so somebody comes in the room, kills A.J., leaves. Michael comes in and for no discernible reason hides, watches his mother come in -- that is a lot of traffic in a relatively short period of time.

Sonny: It doesn't mean it couldn't have happened.

Reese: Michael is home here now and he's surrounded by people who love him and he is still completely shut down. He's not communicating. Killing A.J. could explain that, Sonny. He is terrified by what he's done.

Sonny: Well, you know, I guess if -- if he felt that his brother and sister were in danger, I mean, you know, he would try to do anything to protect them, right?

Carly: Michael had a breakthrough. He's coming back to us, Sonny. Our little boy's going to be all right.

Luke: Ok, she's headed south. Helena's on Old Marlton Pike.

Lucky: You could put patrol cars in the area immediately.

Luke: No. She'd see them coming. I have to handle this myself.

Mac: Emily's life is at stake. Don't make this personal.

Luke: The woman shot me point-blank three times in the chest. I think it's already personal.

Skye: You're still alive, Luke. Emily will be dead if we don't get to her fast.

Luke: We will, we will. If Helena keeps going south, I think if I move fast, I can interrupt her at Larrison Road? What -- oh. Oh, no. Oh, no. Damn!

Skye: What happened?

Luke: I've lost the signal.

Skye: How did that happen?

Luke: Maybe she found the bug!

Skye: Now we've got no way to track her.

Lucky: There's no way to find Emily before Helena kills her.

Helena: Did she give you any trouble?

Man: No.

Helena: You may go. I wanted the pleasure of ending your life in private. You see, I consider it a public service ridding the world of weak, pathetic creatures who leech off of others.

Emily: If you kill me, you're going to lose Nikolas forever.

Helena: You have ceased to be a factor in Nikolas' life. It's almost a shame to waste a bullet on you.

Emily: Hold it! "Pathetic creature"? You guess again.

Justus: Dr. Winters?

Louise: Can I help you?

Justus: I'm Justus Ward, attorney for Carly --

Louise: Yes, I know who you are, Mr. Ward, and I know who you work for.

Justus: I have more than one client.

Louise: So this isn't about Sonny Corinthos?

Justus: Not exactly.

Louise: Uh, nice to meet you, Mr. Ward. Now, if you'll excuse me, there are plenty of other therapists in Port Charles. I suggest you contact one of them.

Justus: I need somebody who can think with their heart.

Louise: My compassion is generally reserved for those who need it.

Justus: This is about a 9-year-old little boy that I need to keep from testifying against his own mother.

Louise: Yeah, I'm aware what little Michael Corinthos has gone through, and I feel for him.

Justus: So help him. All you have to do is prove that Michael is unfit to testify. It'll take one session. You can write a written affidavit --

Louise: No, it's never as simple as that. They will challenge my testimony. This thing could take weeks.

Justus: I understand that this is a complex issue. Look, is there any way that we could discuss this over dinner?

Louise: Oh, is Mr. Corinthos picking up the bill for that? Part of the cost of him getting his way?

Justus: Forget the boy's name is Corinthos, ok? Think what this will do to him if his own mother goes to jail based on his own testimony. You can prevent this. Imagine the guilt he will live with for the rest of his life. You can stop this.

Louise: There may be no way to prevent that.

Jason: I'm glad you're feeling better.

Michael: I like being home with everybody here.

Jason: That's good. That's -- that's what we want. We want you to feel safe.

Michael: I wrote you a letter while I was gone.

Jason: I know, I found it. Sam and I figured out where -- where A.J. was living and -- and we went to look for you, but A.J. had already taken you, and I -- I found your suitcase and the letter. Look, I'm glad that you wrote me. You know, I can answer your question now. Your mom and your dad did not stop loving you, Michael, and they never will.

Michael: A.J. was a big, fat liar.

Jason: Yes, he was.

Michael: You know, and mom told me not to believe him, and I did.

Jason: Hey, you didn't do anything wrong, buddy. A.J. did. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry that he tricked you, I'm sorry that he lied to you. But it's over now. He's gone. You won't ever have to think of him again.

Carly: I knew I could reach Michael. All we needed was a little time together.

Reese: So what exactly did he say to you?

Carly: Are you trying to monitor my conversations with my son?

Sonny: Carly. This is important. What did he say?

Carly: That he was sorry for yelling at me and running away. I know that you're just trying to help, but I think all he really needed was his mother. I explained everything to him. He knows I didn't kill A.J.

Sonny: So does he know who did?

Carly: No. How could he?

Sonny: I don't know. I mean, you know, he was in the room.

Carly: No. Michael didn't see anything. It's up to the police to find out who killed A.J.

Sonny: Right.

[Phone rings]

Carly: Ahem. Hello? Justus, it's late.

Sonny: Ahem.

Carly: Uh, fine. All right, I'll be right down there. Uh -- Justus wants to talk to me about my case. I made progress with Michael tonight. Don't do anything to mess it up.

Sonny: I will make sure that he's ok, all right?  Well, I guess, you know, we don't have to worry about Michael, you know, killing A.J.

Reese: Really? You think -- now you're sure?

Sonny: Well, I mean, you heard Carly. He's feeling much better. If he had killed A.J., he would be traumatized, right?

Reese: You know, isn't it possible that he's suppressing the murder even further?

Sonny: Why does it sound like you want him to have done it?

Reese: So, what, you think Carlyís right now? That I've been planting things in Michaelís head to make her look guilty?

Jason: Sonny. I -- I need to speak to you.

Sonny: I know. Carly was just in here.

Jason: No, I need to speak with you about Michael.

Sonny: He's better. She has this theory Michael killed A.J. Can you just tell her that --?

Jason: I -- I really need to speak with you alone about this.

Sonny: Just say it in front of her, it's fine. Tell her that Michael didn't kill A.J.

Jason: Sonny --

Sonny: Tell -- come on, tell her. Tell her.

Jason: Monica saw Michael in A.J.'s room. And she saw him kill A.J.  Monica's been covering for Michael since it happened.

Sonny: I should have killed A.J. myself when I had a chance, when Michael was a baby. Nobody would have missed him; nobody would have -- nobody would have --

Reese: Ok, you guys, it's just important that we stay calm here, and we try to look at this thing from a legal standpoint.

Sonny: Ok. If Michael was your little boy, how calm would you be?

Reese: Michael is 9, and he's been severely traumatized for months. No court in the world is going to find him guilty.

Sonny: I don't want Michael to testify!

Reese: Ok, ok.

Sonny: I don't want that! I don't want my little boy being ripped apart in front of the whole world!

Reese: But under the circumstances, it would be a closed hearing. And the verdict would come back not guilty by reason of diminished capacity.

Sonny: It's not going to happen. It's not going to happen.

Jason: Ok, right now, Michael does not remember killing A.J. At this point, I think it's better if he never does.

Reese: He can't repress the memory forever, Jason. I mean, if the truth comes out, it could destroy him.

Sonny: Hey, hey, are you a shrink, Reese? Honestly. Because how do you know what Michael is going to do?

Jason: If it's public knowledge that Michael killed A.J., he's going to carry it for the rest of his life.

Reese: All right, I understand that you two want to protect Michael. But you have to think long-term here, ok? If you let the truth come out now, it will give Michael a chance to heal, and you can be there to support the process.

Sonny: I just want to see my son.

Reese: Protecting Michael, healing Michael will be a very long and difficult road. But it has to start truth

Justus: There's no way of stopping Michael from testifying. He's going to tell the jury that he saw you kill A.J.

Carly: Michael had a breakthrough. He's communicating again. He knows that I didn't kill A.J.

Justus: Michael is your son. He saw you standing over A.J. with a pillow in your hands.

Carly: Yes.

Justus: That's more than enough evidence to convince the jury that you were the killer.

Carly: Hey, Justus, Michael was traumatized. He knows that I didn't actually put the pillow over A.J.'s face.

Justus: Michael is your son. He's going to want to protect you. The jury's going to see right through this.

Carly: Ok. So we won't let him in court. We'll get a doctor to declare him unfit.

Justus: I've already spoken to Dr. Winters. She doesn't want to have anything to do with this.

Carly: There are other therapists.

Justus: It's just going to make it look like we're trying to keep the truth out of court, further weakening your case.

Carly: Why are you being so negative?

Justus: I'm being realistic. The plea bargain is our best option.

Carly: You think I'm guilty, don't you?

Justus: What I think doesn't matter. It's what the prosecution can prove. I'm going to fight for you with everything I got for as long as this case goes on, but you have to be realistic. Michael has been subpoenaed. The only way to stop him from testifying is to take the deal that Lansingís put on the table.

Lorenzo: Nothing needs to be decided tonight.

Justus: He's speaking for you now?

Carly: Lorenzo's right. I need some time to consider my options and make sure that I'm not making a mistake.

Lorenzo: Thanks for your input, counselor. Carly will get back to you as soon as she can. Shall we?

Helena: If you're looking for your cell phone, I threw it away.

Emily: Ok. Give me yours. Now! Do it!

Helena: You think I'm afraid of you, little bird?

Emily: You should be.

Helena: Well, look at you, so ready for a fight. Where was that courage when you were down here with Connor? Why didn't you stop him? Unless -- unless you enjoyed the experience.

Connor: You want this. You'll want this, you'll see.

Helena: I was right, wasn't I? You wanted Connor to make love to you.

Emily: No. Never.

Nikolas' voice: Emily, I know you're scared. But you can't give into it, ok? Just take your strength from me. Feel how much I love you.

Emily: I'm turning you over to the police.

Helena: Huh. Oh, you overestimate yourself.

Emily: Dead or alive, it doesn't matter to me. Because Nikolas is going to be freed from prison.

Helena: And you won't be able to look him in the eye. You won't want Nikolas to touch you, because it's Connor you really wanted. Nikolas will sense that you've gone cold; that your body belongs to another man. Your so-called marriage to Nikolas will be over. Nikolas will never want you, ever again.

Justus: Have the paperwork delivered to my office. I'll be there when I can.

Ric: These are the terms of the plea bargain we're offering Carly. If she were my client, I'd advise her to accept them.

Justus: Not interested.

Ric: You want to see Carly go to jail, then, huh?

Justus: You have to convict her first. By the way, who told you Michael Corinthos was a witness?

Ric: A reliable source.

Justus: I can get a court order forcing you to disclose the name.

Ric: It was Alexis.

Justus: You might want to warn Alexis to expect a subpoena. I'm going to put her on the stand and I'm going to destroy what's left of her reputation.

Ric: You might want to look over your own reputation there, counselor, all right?

Justus: Alexis has strong reason to lie. She wants Michael to suffer because she lost custody of Kristina.

Ric: That's absurd.

Justus: Oh, is it? I think the judge and the jury will see it my way. I can make a compelling argument that Alexis perjured herself when she named Michael Corinthos as a witness. This is going to get ugly, counselor. You withdraw Michaelís subpoena. It's the only way you can save your wife.

John: Look, I want you to pressure Ric to order a psychiatric exam on Michael.

Alexis: No. No. I'm not doing it. He's already been through too much.

John: Sonny will find out about it, he'll try to stop it, find out that he canít. That is when he will confess to killing A.J. to protect Michael.

Alexis: You're using an already traumatized 9-year-old little boy.

John: Look, Michael is my grandson. I'm not going to do anything to hurt him. But once Sonny confesses, he goes to prison; both of our daughters will be free and clear of him forever. Now, I assume this is something that you still want.

Alexis: More than anything.

Sonny: Hey, buddy.

Michael: Hey, dad.

Sonny: How are you doing?

Michael: Good.

Sonny: Good. Give your dad a hug.

Sonny: Do you know what the saddest day of my life was? When I thought I lost you. And you know what the happiest day of my life was? When I found you, and you were alive.

Michael: I'm sorry. I never should have believed A.J.

Sonny: Hey, hey, hey, A.J. lied to you, he messed with your head, but he's gone now. You don't have to worry about him anymore. He's not going to hurt you, ok?

Michael: Mom didn't kill A.J. I was mixed up before.

Sonny: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? Your mom's going to be ok. I don't want you to worry about that, ok?

Michael: Shouldn't we tell the cops?

Sonny: I'm going to take care of everything. I just -- I want you to just keep getting better.

Michael: But if mom didn't kill A.J., then who did?

Reese: Sooner or later, Michael will remember killing A.J. and he needs treatment to help him deal with it.

Jason: Well, you know what? He's got a lot of people who love him. We can help him.

Reese: Ok, that attitude is naive at best. It's dangerous at worst. Besides, if Michael doesn't come forward, Carly will end up standing trial for a crime she didn't commit.

Jason: You know, Carly would gladly do that for her son.

Reese: And what if she's convicted? Why risk that when telling the truth can only benefit Michael?

Jason: Because. If there is a hearing, A.J.'s death is going to follow Michael forever. People are going to be watching this kid for the rest of his life. He'll be stared at; he'll be whispered about behind his back. People are going to be afraid of him, and I'm not going to let Michael live that way.

Alexis: I'm not going to pressure Ric anymore to put any more pressure on Michael. This whole thing makes me sick. You --

John: You're up to your hips in alligators, counselor. You stole money from your family to grease the wheels of Sonny's demise. Stabs of conscience are a waste of both of our time.

Alexis: He's an innocent little boy. He's your grandson, for God's sake.

John: Hey, it's not my first choice, but it's what we have to work with. And yes, I will use my grandson, and I will use my daughter if it frees them of that sadistic monster.

Alexis: Find another way.

John: The train's already left the station, Alexis. We both agreed to put enough heat on Carly to pressure Sonny to step forward and save her.

Alexis: Not at Michaelís expense. I'm done. I'm not doing it.

Ric: I promise you, Justus, attacking Alexis is not going to help Carly in the eyes of a jury.

Justus: A woman filled with such hostility and anger, it undermines her credibility.

Ric: All right, threaten us all you want. The fact is that Alexis heard Michael say that he saw his own mother murder A.J. He is an eyewitness. I have to call him to testify.

Justus: I'll get a psychiatrist up there who will prove that the boy is too traumatized from his kidnapping to know what he saw. And we'll pray in the process that you don't destroy him.

Ric: You want to help your client, huh? Then you bring me a suspect with as much evidence as I have against Carly. Because right now, that's the only thing that's going to help her.

Carly: I knew I could get through to Michael. But when it actually happened, I just thought my heart was going to burst open with happiness.

Lorenzo: I am so glad that your belief was rewarded.

Carly: Now, if I can just get my lawyer to believe it. Michael knows that I didn't kill A.J., and Justus still wants me to cop a plea for murder.

Lorenzo: I imagine Justus is worried that no one will believe Michael. They'll think he's protecting his mother.

Carly: I don't care what Justus says. I know there's another way.

Lorenzo: There is. New identities for you, Michael, and Morgan. Everything you need to leave the country with me.

Lucky: Emily?

Helena: Go ahead. Use it. I dare you.

Nikolas' voice: Don't give in to the hurt and anger, Emily. Don't let anyone win but you and me.

Emily: Arrest this bitch. Get my husband out of prison.

Reese: We both want the same thing -- what's best for Michael. I know your impulse is to protect him.

Jason: Mm-hmm, that --

Reese: But --

Jason: How's Michael doing?

Sonny: Um -- he asked me who killed A.J.

Reese: What did you tell him?

Sonny: I dodged the -- I didn't -- you know, I dodged the question. I didn't know what to say.

Reese: Well, how about the truth? Michael's life has been ripped out from underneath him. He doesn't know what he did. He doesn't know what's going on. He just knows that he's afraid for his sister and his brother.

Sonny: If he knows, ok, that he killed A.J., it's going to rip him to shreds.

Reese: He'll need therapy. That's a given.

Sonny: Ok, so we're going to send Michael to a shrink so he can relive, you know, what happened to him over and over and over again from every angle? I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that to my son.

Reese: He'll thank you for it, Sonny. Maybe not right now, but when he's older and he realizes what you've done for him.

Sonny: I want you to go upstairs and let him tell you how happy he is to be home, how sorry he feels that he believed everything that A.J. told him. I want you to look at that sweet, smiling little boy, and you tell me if you want to hurt him any more. You know what? There's no point to this. He's already forgotten what has happened. Let's leave it that way.

Jason: She's the least of our problems right now.

Reese: Hey, Michael. How's it going?

Michael: Pretty good.

Reese: Well, I'm glad to hear it.

Michael: Thanks for helping me.

Reese: Hey, I was glad to do it. You know, you're pretty easy to care about. Wow. Look at all those baseball cards, huh? What, you have a Jeter?

Michael: Yep.

Reese: I think Derek Jeter's going to win M.V.P. this season.

Michael: Why?

Reese: Well, because he has to show everybody he can do better than last season.

Michael: My dad's going to take me to see him play.

Reese: Well, that sounds like fun. I bet you're looking forward to that, huh? Huh?

Michael: I'm glad all the bad stuff is over.

Reese: So am I.

John: I misread you, Alexis. I thought you wanted Corinthos put away.

Alexis: This whole thing is over the top.

John: Oh, I don't know. Robbing your nephew while he sits in prison? Now, that's pretty low.

Alexis: This is spiraling out of control. Everyone here cares about Michael, and I'm not doing this to him.

John: Yeah, well, it's out of your hands now. Because of Michael, Carly is under intense pressure. Sonny will have to step in. I didn't have to pay off a single witness. And you just saved a bundle.

Alexis: Fine, then you don't need me anymore.

John: You're right. You did your part when you got Ric to subpoena Michael. No one had to bend the law. You and I can walk away from this thing as squeaky clean as we stepped into it. Money's still in the bank, and I can get back to you with no one being the wiser.

Ric: I gave your client a way out. If she doesn't want to plead down, that's not my problem.

Justus: Ric, explain to me again how you've managed to stay out of prison for the things you've done.

Ric: Huh. You think I'm bad? Consider the guy I replaced. Look, Justus, I took this job for one reason.

Justus: Don't -- don't say absolution. I'd have to laugh --

Ric: Ok, you know what? Why don't we just cut through all of this? Like it or not, I am the D.A. A man has been murdered. The primary suspect happens to be my brother's ex-wife, ok? I didn't go looking for that, I didn't manufacture that. The case fell into my lap, and I am required to prosecute.

Justus: Yeah, but try not to enjoy it so much.

Ric: No, I don't enjoy it. You and I both know, unless something drastic changes, Carlyís going to go to prison for the rest of her life.

Lorenzo: Carly, the only way to keep Michael from testifying is for you to accept a plea bargain from the district attorney. Make no mistake, whatever deal you make is going to include jail time.

Carly: I don't want to run away.

Lorenzo: Look, I rented a villa on the coast of Venezuela. If we like it there, I can buy it. We'll spend the rest of our days in paradise, Carly. There's no downside to that.

Carly: I can't take Michael and Morgan away from their father.

Lorenzo: As soon as things calm down here, Sonny can pay them regular visits. Look, if I thought there was any other way, I'd suggest it, but there isnít.

Carly: Hmm. If I leave, there's no coming back.

Lorenzo: You'll have a good life. You'll be protecting your children. And I think you'll be happier than you ever dreamed. Come on; run away with me, Carly. I love you.

Sonny: We cannot tell Carly that Michael killed A.J., because she'll just, you know, confess to the murder just to protect Michael. You know that, right?

Jason: Ok, yeah, yeah, yeah, but if Carly goes to trial and Michael has to testify, he could remember that he's the one who killed A.J.

Sonny: There's got to be another way.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Lucky: It's over. It's going to be over in a few hours.

Emily: Then what do I do?

Guard: Congratulations, Cassadine. We're cutting you loose.

Lorenzo: We can't waste any time.

Carly: I can't go away with you.

Sonny: We're talking about a 9-year-old. We got to figure out another way to protect him.
