Bobbie: What happened?
Courtney: I'm not sure. We were just eating at Kellyís and Jax had a seizure and collapsed.
Nurse: His B.P. is dangerously low and he's having difficulty breathing.
Bobbie: I'll alert the doctor on emergency rotation.
Rachel: I'm right here. Don't worry; I'll take good care of Jax.
A.J.: Man, look, I didn't want to do this, not tonight. Listen, Michael, Sonny's busy, ok? He doesn't have time to deal with a son that he can't depend on, who's in trouble all the time. So he -- he gave you back to me.
Michael: No, he didnít.
A.J.: I wanted to give you back. He told me to keep you for good.
Michael: My dad would never say that.
A.J.: I know that this is a tough way to find out but, Michael, Sonny doesn't want you anymore.
Michael: Yes, he does. He loves me.
A.J.: That was before his real kids came along. Didn't you ever wonder why Sonny fought so hard to be a father to Kristina? Because she's his flesh and blood, just like Morgan. You're not, Michael. You're not Sonny's child. You're mine.
[Knock on door]
Sam: Hold on!
Skye: Hey. I need to see Jason right away.
Sam: Well, come in, but what's going on? He's not here.
Skye: Sonny and Jason are planning to kill Luke because he freed Faith from prison. They're holding him indirectly responsible for Michaelís death. Sam, I need you to find Jason and stop him. Please. I need you to help me save Lukeís life.
Luke: I know this is just business. You want me dead because you messed up. You didn't kill Faith when you had the chance.
Jason: Doesn't matter what I want. Sonny gives the orders. It's up to him to decide what happens to you.
Luke: Well, that's as it should be.
Sonny: Glad you're here, Luke. I need your advice. How do I deal with the man who let Faith out of prison?
Rachel: Men -- you will just do anything to be the center of attention, won't you?
Jax: So what's the verdict?
Rachel: I think you're going to live.
Jax: That's good.
Courtney: Is it all right if I come in?
Jax: Hey. Yeah, come in.
Jax: Hey. Hi.
Courtney: So -- um -- have you figured out what happened?
Rachel: Well, the blood work's still out, but from my educated guess, I'd say he was allergic to something that he ingested.
Courtney: Allergic? Doesn't that mean breaking out in hives or sneezing a lot? Jax had a seizure and collapsed.
Rachel: It's just that some reactions tend to be more dangerous than others.
Jax: Well, that's the last time I try Mike's mystery plate. It's strange, though, because I can't remember ever being allergic to anything.
Rachel: Well, body chemistry changes. Things that were once innocuous can turn on you and become your worst enemy. Something is introduced into your system and soon as you know it, without warning you're flat on your back in a hospital bed -- or worse. Ok, Courtney, well, I'm going to have to ask you to step out for a minute. I need to finish up Jaxís examination and get him ready for the night.
Courtney: No way am I leaving this room, so you might as well not waste your breath asking.
A.J.: Michael, you're a smart kid. Use your head. Think about the way this stuff went down, huh? Just consider the sequence of events.
Michael: I don't know what that means.
A.J.: I'm sorry. Um -- the order -- the order things happened, ok? For example, it all started when Morgan was born. Your mother got really sick, right?
Michael: She was in a coma.
A.J.: Must've been pretty scary, huh? Even for a brave little guy like you. Sonny wasn't around to comfort you, though, was he? Why? Because he was busy taking care of Morgan, his little boy. Yeah, sure, you were trying to be a good little soldier, trying to keep the peace, but couldn't you feel that all of a sudden you didn't matter as much as you used to to Sonny and your mom?
Michael: My parents love me. My mom would never give me away.
A.J.: You know, she would if Sonny told her to. Michael, you probably don't remember this -- your mother abandoned you when you were born.
Michael: She was sick.
A.J.: Is she sick now? Where is she? Huh? She's doing it all over again. I'm not saying that your mother doesn't love you. She probably does in her own way. But she doesn't love you nearly as much as she loves Sonny. And, little man, in a race between you and Sonny, you don't even place.
John: Hey, Agent Marshall. What a coincidence.
Reese: Really? How's that, Mr. Durant?
John: Well, I just finished reading your report on the Corinthos kidnappings.
Reese: Isn't that kind of like reading yesterday's newspaper?
John: Hmm. Not by a long shot. I actually found the file fascinating. I also found out something new about you. You're quite the editor, huh? All that time you spent with Sonny one-on-one, getting into his mind, listening to him spill his guts about his business dealings, his background -- not one shred of anything that indicts Sonny for being the bottom-feeding gangster that he is. No mention of enemies, no skeletons hanging precariously in the closet, not even a body count. So tell me, how does something like that happen?
Reese: Sonny's a very guarded man. He knew I was in the F.B.I. and, missing kids or not, he's not about to tell me anything that I could use against him -- assuming, of course, there's something to get.
John: Lady, don't play coy with me. Sonny and Jason break the law every single day. You know it, you can prove it, yet you do nothing about it, even though it's your job. So that brings a question to mind -- why?
Sam: I don't know where Jason is, and if I did, I wouldn't tell you. I don't interfere with his business, Skye.
Skye: "His business"? What is the matter with you? A man's life is at risk here, a man I happen to love -- despite our differences -- much like you with Jason, I would guess. It's within your power, Sam, to stop Luke from being murdered in cold blood, and you're not going to do anything?
Sam: I'm sorry! There is nothing I can do!
Skye: What, are they brainwashing you? What part of "Jasonís going to kill Luke" don't you understand?
Sam: I think you're the one who doesn't seem to get it. I do not interfere with his business. Life is tough sometimes and so is payback, so -- ooh --
Luke: I've always appreciated your taste in liquor.
Sonny: Remember the case we kept in the backroom of the club?
Luke: Owners' Reserve. To the good stuff.
Sonny: Good stuff.
Luke: Mmm. Do me a favor. Jason, if you're going to blow my head off, do it now. I'll be a happy man.
Sonny: Jason, can you wait out in the foyer?
Luke: Maybe time for a second drink?
Sonny: Well, you know, I don't imagine you'd go down without a fight, you know. I just bought this place, so I don't want bullets in the paneling or blood on the carpet.
Luke: Creature comforts were always your weakness, Sonny.
Sonny: What can I say? I -- I like what money can buy, which a lot of it came from Frank Smith's old territory, which I picked up courtesy of you.
Luke: It's gratifying to be remembered.
Sonny: Oh, I remember a lot. I remember when we used to be friends, when I -- I remember when I picked you up at that old house on Charles Street. We were doing some job for Frank, and Laura came out and she asked me to promise her that I would never let anything happen to you. I gave Laura my word. How do I break it now?
Skye: I came to you because I thought that you of all people would do everything within your power to prevent another death. You couldn't save your own child's life or Michaelís, but this is a situation you can affect. Luke doesn't have to die. His family doesn't have to experience the same soul-numbing grief that Sonny's family is going through right now. Or tell me, Sam, don't other people's families even matter to you? You listen to me. Luke did not break Faith out of prison so she could go after Sonny's kids. He did it to clear me of false murder charges. Now, if he's paying for that with his life, that means that I'm just as culpable. Or -- or maybe I'm already on some hit list somewhere, huh? But you? You're just going to turn your head and avert your gaze while the bodies pile up, huh? Stay in the kitchen making chili mac for your hit man boyfriend because it's not your problem? Well, let me tell you something. If Sonny considers Michaelís blood on Lukeís hands, then I consider Lukeís on yours.
Sam: Are you finished?
Skye: Yeah. I'm sorry I bothered you. And for the record, Lukeís not the reason that Faith went after Sonny's kids. Sonny earned that all on his own.
Reese: Everything pertinent to the kidnappings is in my report.
John: Hmm. But it's not half of what you could've included, right? You have more -- money trails, laundering systems. You were privy to Sonny's private conversations. You know who his enemies are. You know how they got that way.
Reese: I'm sorry, were you in the room when I was questioning Sonny, because I didn't notice.
John: No, but I know that the bureau is keeping you in town for a reason.
Reese: Right, and they are who I answer to, not you.
John: You like playing it close to the vest, don't you? The way I see it, there's two possible scenarios going on here. Either Sonny has gotten to you and you're trying to protect him, or you're just marking time until you find something that Sonny won't be able to walk away from. So which one is it?
Reese: Well, that seems to be the burning question, now, doesn't it?
Sonny: When you and I first met, Lucky was a little older than Michael is -- Michael was. You were a good father, Luke. I used to watch you with Lucky. Never in a million years did I think that I'd ever have a son of my own -- as a matter of fact, I was sure of that -- but you know what they say -- you know, "Life is what happens when you're making other plans." Michael came to live with me, he became my son. Now he is dead, shot and thrown in a swamp by a bitch I should've killed nine times over, and you let out of prison. I can't get past that, Luke. I mean, you know? It's like driving drunk -- even if you don't set out to kill, you're taking a chance with other people's lives, and even if you didn't know what you were doing, you did it, you know? It's --
Luke: I know. I think you should kill me.
Sonny: Why? What good would it do? It's not going to bring my son back. Jason wants you dead because it's business. You see, the Sandovals -- I'm having a lot of problems with the Sandovals, and killing you would make a statement, but I don't want to make a statement that badly. I want to remember the camping trips. I want to remember how good you were to Stone. The only memory I have of my son is in a swamp somewhere in Louisiana. I don't want to make it any uglier by having your death on my conscience.
Sonny: So you're in no -- you're in no danger, ok, of me or anybody who works for me.
Sonny: I'd like the same guarantee.
Luke: Oh, Sonny. I got no reason -- no reason to want you dead, unless you try to kill me first. And I guess we've established that that isn't going to happen -- at least right now.
Sonny: Thanks for coming here and settling this.
Luke: I'm glad we could reach an agreement. Thanks for the drink.
Sonny: It's settled.
Jason: Luke left?
Sonny: I gave Luke my word. He's in no danger of me or anybody in the organization.
Jason: It's your decision.
Sonny: You think I'm crazy?
Jason: I think the Sandovals are going to move.
Sonny: Let them. Luke's alive because he's my friend. Anybody else who crosses me is gone. No negotiating, no mercy. Gone.
Jax: You know, I'm feeling better by the minute. Whatever happened seems to be over.
Courtney: I certainly hope so.
Jax: I love you for -- for offering, but you really don't need to stay. It's fine.
Courtney: Jax, I want to.
Jax: I think the idea for me is to get some rest. I mean, I can't follow doctor's orders if you're here distracting me, now, can I?
Bobbie: I'm sorry to interrupt, but we need some more blood from you. It'll just take a few minutes.
Jax: Ah, no problem. Why don't you pick me up first thing tomorrow?
Courtney: You can count on it. Ok.
Rachel: I knew something was on your mind.
Courtney: You did this, didn't you? You poisoned Jax somehow.
Rachel: That's right, I did. And I need you to know that I can do this anytime I like.
Courtney: You really are insane.
Rachel: Me? Courtney, this is your fault. You forced my hand. You knew that Jax was being suspicious and you didn't do anything to divert his attention. If anything, you were about to tell him that I killed A.J., and you know that that is not part of our deal.
Courtney: "Deal"? We never had a deal, Rachel.
Rachel: Oh, we have a deal. It's just been revised. Look, you don't have to kill Steven Webber anymore, but you have to keep your mouth shut about me killing A.J. That murder is going to be unsolved and we are both going to go on with our lives.
Courtney: No, you tried to kill my fiancť.
Rachel: If I wanted Jax dead, he would be in the morgue right now. I knew exactly how much I was giving him.
Courtney: Which is what, by the way?
Rachel: Well, that's nothing you need to be concerned with. Just know that I can get my hands on it anytime I like. By the way, it's completely untraceable. So maybe you should keep that in mind the next time you feel like baring your soul to Jax, or anyone else for that matter.
Sam: Hey. Hi. There's some meatloaf in the refrigerator if you want any.
Jason: No. I'm good. What are you doing?
Sam: Look, Reese dropped off a copy of the kidnapping file and she said that -- I don't know -- there might be some answers to the questions you have about Michael. I have been looking through it for hours and I can't seem to come up with anything different.
Jason: I just did.
Skye: Oh -- thank God! I was so afraid Sonny and Jason were going to try to kill you! So what happened? How did you talk your way out of a bullet through your head?
Luke: Corinthos and I came to an agreement. Thank you for your concern.
Skye: "Concern"? I have been running all over town, trying to talk to Carly and Sam, trying to get them to intercede for you! I was even going to talk to Bobbie to get --
Luke: You worry too much, Red.
Skye: Yeah? Well, you give me good reason. I may want you maimed and tortured, but I certainly don't want you dead.
Luke: I think I appreciate that.
Skye: Well, you can show your appreciation by leaving the state, the country, preferably the continent -- immediately.
Carly: Sonny? Sonny, can I talk to you for a minute?
Sonny: Yeah. What's on your mind?
Carly: Sonny, I want to take Morgan and I want to go back to the apartment.
Sonny: Ok -- ahem. I'll have Max and Enzo go with you. That way, nobody bothers you.
Carly: Sonny, Skye came by today.
Carly: So did Sam. They want to know if Lukeís in danger.
Sonny: Nope. He's not.
Carly: Even though he helped set Faith free and she kidnapped our kids?
Sonny: Even though.
Carly: Ok, Sonny, what now? Hmm? Because the way I see it, you have two choices here. You could take your pain over Michael and you can turn it in on yourself, and you can bury yourself in it, or you can lash out at the people you love. But you cannot go around and murder anyone who ever helped Faith.
Sonny: This goes way beyond Faith. I've let too many of my enemies slip through the cracks. They got to get the message. You know, the message has to be loud and clear. Anybody who threatens me or my family will be eliminated!
Carly: There you go.
Michael: Guys, I made it! I escaped from A.J.!
Sonny: Why'd you run away from A.J.? He's your father.
Michael: No, he isnít. You are.
Sonny: Uh -- that's not exactly the case anymore.
Michael: What do you mean?
Sonny: Well, see, your mom and I, we got this family thing going on now. We got Morgan; we got Kristina. We don't really need you, you know?
Michael: I'm your son, too.
Sonny: Yeah, not in the way that matters. I know this is tough to hear, but you don't really fit in the family anymore, ok? So, you know, go back to A.J. Everything will be fine.
Michael: You don't mean that.
Sonny: Come on, Carly. Let's tuck our boy in.
Carly: Want to get the truck? Ok. Ooh.
Sonny: There we go.
Carly: You get the truck?
Sonny: Yeah, you want me to get the truck?
Carly: Yeah. Morgan likes the truck, right? Ooh.
Michael: I hate you, Sonny! You hear me? I hate you! I hate you, Sonny! Sonny, I hate you! You hear me? I hate you!
Skye: Sonny is a grieving father, Luke. Why would you want to taunt him with your continued presence? Do you know how dangerous that is? Do you know how reckless you're being?
Luke: Reckless, huh? Well, that's a hell of a lot better than some of the things you've been calling me lately. Actually, I'll answer to all of them but "coward."
Skye: Come on, this isn't about running. Luke, this is about finishing what you started. Go find Helena. Prove she's alive so that Nikolas can get out of prison and he can go home to Emily, and those two kids can have the beautiful lives that they planned together.
Luke: There ain't no such thing, Red.
Skye: Maybe not for us.
Luke: Not for anybody. Time those two kids learned the ugly realities of life. There ain't no Santa Claus, no Easter Bunny, no Tooth Fairy, no bearded man in the clouds scrutinizing your every thought and deed. There is no justice, and "happily ever after" only happens in children's books and sappy movies.
Skye: Maybe you're right. Maybe it's a lesson they're just going to have to learn on their own. But they at least deserve a shot at that happy ending. And if you can give it to them, and you can get out of Port Charles while the heat dies down at the same time, why not do it?
A.J.: Here, you should eat something. Come on. If you don't want the sandwich, at least eat the candy bar.
Michael: I told you I'm not hungry.
A.J.: All right. You know, you sounded like you -- like you were having a bad dream.
Michael: I don't remember.
A.J.: Well, sometimes that's a good thing. We're going to need shelter soon. And, you know, maybe tomorrow we should figure out a way to signal for help -- write an S.O.S. on the beach with rocks or something. I don't want you to worry, Michael. I'm going to take care of you.
Michael: I can take care of myself.
A.J.: Suit yourself.
Michael: I don't believe it! It's my dad! He's come for us! Hey! Help, we're over here! Help! Hey, we're over here! Come on!
Michael's voice: Over here, Dad! Over here! Pass me the ball!
Jason: Reese dropped off a report of the kidnapping. You remember all the stuff you told about the organization?
Sonny: Is it coming back to bite me?
Jason: Just the opposite. This report doesn't contain one thing even remotely incriminating.
Sonny: All right, thanks for letting me know.
Reese: Hello, Sonny.
Sam: So Reese said she made Sonny an offer. If he gets out of the business, flips a few people, then --
Jason: The feds would cut him a deal --
Jason: Put him in the witness protection program. It's not going to happen. Sonny's not going to leave the business. And as long as he's in, I'm in, if that's what you're asking me.
Sam: No, no, no, I -- I think I knew that. But I did have to make a few choices of my own tonight.
Jason: Why? What happened?
Sam: Well, Lucky figured out that Sonny was going after Luke, so he tried to get information out of me, and then Skye showed up here wanting me to stop you.
Jason: What'd you tell them?
Sam: Oh, come on. What do you think? That I don't interfere with your business.
Sam: Although, you haven't heard the part where you'll probably be mad at me for. I went to Carly to see if she could warn Sonny that people were aware of what you were planning tonight, that you were in danger of being caught.
Jason: If this is your way of asking me if Lukeís dead, he isnít.
Sam: Well -- I mean, thanks for telling me. That's not what I was asking. I was just -- you know, I wanted to fill you in on what went on while you were gone. I figured it was better than keeping any kind of secrets or anything.
Jason: Yeah, no, that's good. I do appreciate that.
Sam: Jason -- there is something you can do for me, though, something I need to know. I mean, is there anything that I can do for you? You've been running on empty, whether you want to admit it or not. You haven't been eating or sleeping or --
Jason: Sam, I'm --
Sam: Come on, come on. There must be something you need that I can give you. Just ask, please.
Jason: You can be honest with me about something.
Jason: Just tell me I'm chasing a ghost, and Michaelís really gone.
Jax: Hey. You're back.
Courtney: Well, you're irresistible. I couldn't stay away. How you feeling?
Jax: I'm fine. Yeah. Bobbie said the blood results were normal, so they just want to keep me overnight as extra caution.
Jax: Something wrong?
Courtney: No, I just had images of you in a different kind of bed tonight, that's all.
Jax: I'd like to believe that, but from what little I remember right before I hit the deck, you were about to -- you were about to tell me something.
Courtney: Was I?
Courtney: Hmm. Well, it must not have been very important because I don't remember it now. Hey, all that matters is that you're ok and that you stay that way. I'm going to have to take extra-special care of you now.
Jax: I couldn't agree more. You can start with this right here.
Courtney: Oh, yeah?
Rachel: So all I have to do is help you fake your own death, and then set Courtney up to take the fall? Well, what are you going to do in the meantime?
A.J.: You're not the only one with scores to settle. You have Steven, who you'd like to wipe off the face of the earth, and I have -- well, lots of people. But my priority is to get back something that was stolen from me, no matter what I have to do.
A.J.'s voice: Hi, it's A.J. Leave a message and I'll get back to you.
[Answering machine beeps]
A.J.: For a minute there, I thought you were going to prove me wrong.
Michael: You are wrong.
A.J.: Yeah, we'll see. In the meantime, we are stuck. So why don't we try to get along? What do you say?
Michael: I'm never going to trust you.
A.J.: Of course not. All you know about me, Michael, is what your mom and Sonny have told you. You know what I'm counting on? That once we spend a little time together, you will form an opinion of your own. Well, I found these blankets, ok? I think it's time we get a little sleep, don't you? What are you doing? You sure you want to do that, huh?
Michael: I'll be fine.
A.J.: It's cold.
Michael: I'll be fine.
A.J.: Suit yourself.
Sonny: You gave Jason your file on the kidnappings?
Reese: Yeah, I thought it might help with -- with closure.
Sonny: Oh. Well, yeah. But what we both find interesting is what you didn't include -- I mean, my associates in the Caribbean, what happens to my money. I gave you a gold mine of incriminating information when we were looking for my children, and what you handed over to them makes me look like a model citizen. Why?
Reese: What we discussed wasn't relevant to the case. I thought, why include it?
Sonny: Case closed. Why aren't you using the information against me now?
Skye: I hope you packed more than bar towels this time.
Luke: Oh, I got all the essentials here -- weapons, booze, change of underwear.
Skye: Where will you start looking?
Luke: It'll be simple -- I'll just follow the shedding scales. I'll find Helena. I always do. I don't suppose there's any reason for me to expect you to be here when I get back?
Skye: No, I suppose there isnít. But I'll keep an eye on the place while you're gone.
Luke: Take good care of yourself, Blaze.
Courtney: There. All my foundation business is taken care of.
Jax: Have you come to say good night?
Courtney: Hmm. Saying "good night" would imply that I'm leaving.
Jax: Well. Have you ever considered a second career in medicine? This is very healing.
Courtney: The only person I care about being healthy is you.
Jax: Hmm. That's nice.
Jason: Just tell me to stop chasing after Michaelís body like it's going to solve something or heal something or --
Sam: Or bring him back? Jason, I know I said that I wanted to give you something you need, but I cannot tell you to stop looking for Michael, because you are following your instincts. If something inside you is telling you to keep on pursuing this, then that's what you need to do. Ok? And I -- I -- I have to be the only one who knows, you know? You don't have to tell anyone about this, and I love you, and I will be by you every step of the way, and I will help you in any way that you let me. We're in this together, ok?
Reese: This is the second case that I've headed up that's resulted in the death of a child.
Sonny: You told me.
Reese: The point is I showed you vulnerable sides of me, you showed me vulnerable sides of you. Maybe this makes us even.
Sonny: Bull, bull. You don't know me. I'm not your friend. You're a federal agent. It's your job to come after me. What the hell kind of game you think you're playing here?
Reese: That seems to be the burning question of the day.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Elizabeth: You moving into Wyndemere is a bad idea.
Lucky: You and I both know that Emily can't be alone.
Carly: Agent Marshall, there's something I want to get clear.
Sonny: What are you doing here?
Lorenzo: You're planning to send a message to the Sandovals. I'm trying to stop you from making a fatal error.
