Reese: I am clear on my assignment -- gather enough evidence against Sonny Corinthos to secure a conviction. I told you, Agent Marquist, I will do my duty, but Iíll do it my way.
Sonny: I thought you'd be on your way back to Washington by now.
Reese: Yeah, so did I, but --
Sonny: But what? Case is closed. Your work's done.
Reese: I told you Iíd bring back all your children alive and I -- I didnít. I can't just walk away from the case -- or from you.
Sam: Hey. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, it's ok. It's ok.
Jason: It's Michael -- Michael was calling me.
Singer: I've been queen for a day Iíve had luck come my way
Singer: I've been hoping someday
Dillon: You ok?
Georgie: Yeah, I'm fine.
Singer: Someone like you
Dillon: You're not having second thoughts, are you?
Georgie: No, no, absolutely not. Last night was -- was wonderful.
Singer: All the beauty of life
Dillon: For me, too.
Georgie: It's just -- I don't know -- I'm feeling self-conscious or -- shy. I don't know, it's silly. We've known each other for forever.
Dillon: Yeah, but it's different now. I mean, we're kind of, in a way, closer than we've ever been before.
Georgie: Yeah, and I've pictured making love to you so many times, I just -- I didn't picture the rest of it. You know, I mean, sleeping together, waking up the next morning?
Dillon: Yeah. Maybe I should've walked you home last night.
Georgie: No. No -- I wanted to be here with you.
Georgie: Yeah, it's just -- it's all new, but good new.
Dillon: I know there's -- I don't think there's anything to be shy about. I mean, we're still us, just we're now -- I don't know. I don't even want to say sleeping together because last night was so much more than sex. It was -- love.
Georgie: We waited till we were sure, and it was right, Dillon. I -- it just felt right.
Singer: Through a time
Dillon: No regrets?
Georgie: Not a one. I will love you forever.
Singer: You're the one I--
Sam: Are you all right?
Jason: I just can't stop thinking about my dream.
Sam: Oh, you said Michael called to you?
Jason: Yeah. Michael called me. I was in Sonny's old penthouse. So I went upstairs. I was walking down the hall and up to his room, and I opened the door and I was in that swamp in Louisiana, next to the grave. I don't know, it was weird. Sonny and Carly were burying some toy that -- some boat that I gave Michael, but Michael just kept calling me.
Sam: Do you feel like there are any loose ends or anything about the case that's still bothering you?
Jason: I don't know. I'm just -- I don't know.
Sam: Are you -- are you blaming Sonny? Do you think that it's -- that it's his fault that he didn't save Michael?
Sam: No? What about the F.B.I. or Reese? What about them? Do you think it's their fault?
Jason: They did all they could.
Sam: What about you? Are you blaming yourself? Jason, you did more than anyone. Do you understand that? You went further. You took more chances. You've risked your life again and again to find Michael.
Jason: Sam, I know -- I know you're right, but I just keep hearing Michaelís voice in my dream, you know, so clear like -- like he was right there alive.
Lorenzo: You're here early.
Carly: I wanted to set up the memorial myself, you know? I just wanted to make sure everything here was perfect.
Lorenzo: I'm sure it will be. The church looks beautiful.
Carly: Thanks. You know, Michael really liked flowers so much. He would always comment about how pretty they were when I had them cut up in vases at home, so -- what do you think?
Lorenzo: He looks happy.
Carly: Yeah. That's why I picked it. Even though he doesn't have his teeth there, I just -- he looks so happy and he's smiling and, God, I loved his sense of humor. We were always laughing so much. This one time we went to a bookstore and we got this little joke book, and he -- sorry.
Lorenzo: What for?
Carly: I just keep doing this. You know, I have these random little memories, and Iím just -- I just keep talking about them.
Lorenzo: That's what today's all about, Carly.
Carly: Yeah. Yes, it is. All right. Lorenzo, you know, I know it's traditional to have a photograph at a memorial but I don't know because it's almost like it's a -- a memorial for a picture and not a person, and -- I don't know. But people expect it, so I should probably just leave it up there.
Lorenzo: Carly, just do what you believe is right, all right? Whatever feels right.
Carly: Tell me what's right about outliving your child. It doesn't make sense. It's not supposed to happen.
Lorenzo: No. It's not.
Carly: Lorenzo, it's like I am split in two right now, these two different people. It's like this -- one is walking around, talking, waking up, getting Morgan breakfast, and there's this other one that just wants to stay curled up in a ball, and just dreads --
Carly: I just dread waking up another day and processing that Iím never going to see him again. You know? What's up -- it just hurts so much sometimes. It's like I can't breathe. And all that part of me wants to do is just shut out everybody, you know, and everything and -- I just want God to give me my baby back.
Sonny: You -- you did everything you could for Michael.
Reese: It wasn't enough.
Sonny: Through no fault of yours. You went the extra mile, you know, both personally and professionally, and you left yourself open for criticism for breaking the rules, especially when you let me in on the search. I trusted you, and I'm glad that I did.
Reese: I just came by to show my support on the day of your son's memorial.
Sonny: I'll get through it, yeah, one minute at a time, right? You just got to take one step, another step, another step.
Reese: And tomorrow?
Sonny: I'll get through it. I still have two children, and I'm going to make sure that what happened to Michael never happens to them.
Dillon: So -- so you're sure you're not going to get, like, in trouble or anything, right?
Georgie: No, I'm positive.
Georgie: Mac thinks Iím staying at Shellyís house, and she's covering for me.
Dillon: Oh, good, good, because he would, like, flip.
Georgie: Yeah, I know.
Dillon: You know, ok.
Georgie: Trust me. But, you know, part of me is tempted to tell Mom that we made love, and we were responsible and we used protection. That way, she'd just quit lecturing me.
Dillon: Um -- a little suggestion -- let's table that conversation for a little later down the line, please?
Georgie: Yeah, I guess you're right. I should probably, you know, just ease her into it.
Georgie: Aw, Kellyís is closed.
Dillon: Oh, no, Michaelís memorial service is today.
Georgie: I need to go home and get changed, and you need to do the same thing.
Dillon: I don't think I'm going to be able to take this -- this service knowing that it's partially my fault.
Georgie: Dillon, that is not true.
Dillon: It is true, Georgie. It is true. I mean, if Faith was still locked up right now, none of this would've happened. I mean, Luke was saving Skye. What did I -- I wanted to be cool. It made me feel edgy and rebellious to be a part of a caper with you, but that's the most selfish reason I can think of for doing something you know is wrong.
Elizabeth: Hey, Lucky, you're only supposed to be using your crutches in physical therapy.
Lucky: Oh, hey, Iím not going to go to Michaelís memorial in a wheelchair.
Elizabeth: That's right because you're not going to go.
Lucky: You know my family needs me and Emily does, too.
Elizabeth: Come on, Lucky, you've spent weeks on life-support. Yes, you're recovering quickly, but don't push yourself. You have a long way to go.
Lucky: I know I wasn't close to Michael, but he was Emilyís nephew and godson. Now, with his loss and everything else that happened to Emily, I just -- if we expect her to open up, I need to be there for her.
Emily: I'm doing a reading at the memorial.
Monica: Oh, sweetheart. Are you up to it? It's going to be a hard day.
Emily: Yeah, especially for Jason. I just want to help him through this, Mom, and maybe these words will give him a little bit of comfort.
Alan: Jason doesn't deserve any comfort. He's as much to blame for Michaelís death as Faith.
Emily: What is wrong with you? Dad, can't you see that the people around you are hurting? I mean, Jason is destroyed. Michael was like his own son. Where is your compassion? I don't understand you, and I don't want to.
Monica: Stay away from the memorial.
Alan: Michael is my grandson.
Monica: And this is a day for people to get together and grieve and celebrate a little boy's life. Now, Michael loved Sonny and Carly and Jason and Courtney -- all the people you are vilifying. If you can't honor that child and go to the service without anger, then stay away altogether!
Jason: Thank you.
Sam: Hey, you look really nice.
Jason: You do, too.
Sam: Am I driving you crazy, hovering over you like this? I feel a little awkward.
Jason: No. No, Sam. I -- I need you.
[Knock on door]
Sam: Carly, hi. Come in, please. Ahem. I'm going to meet you at the service, ok?
Jason: How you -- how you doing?
Carly: I don't know. Jason, I was at the church this morning. I was making sure everything was set and it was ok. And I was just on my way back to Sonny's when I had this memory of me 8 1/2 months pregnant running through the rain to find you, because Iíd trashed my life and A.J. was going to take my baby away. And you made sure that didn't happen, Jason. You made sure that I could be his mother, and you were the reason that I was for nine years. Oh, Jase, you were there in the beginning, and now I just need you to be there with me at the end. Oh, God.
Ric: Alexis and Kristina are in the living room. We haven't told Kristina about -- about Michael.
Sonny: She'd been asking about him?
Ric: Yeah. She wants to know when he's coming back. We thought that maybe you would like to -- well, you'd like to tell her.
Sonny: I appreciate that.
Ric: There aren't any words to express how I -- if there's anything that you need, Alexis and I will -- if there's anything.
Sonny: Hey, hey. Um -- you brought Kristina here. That's more than enough.
Alexis: There he is.
Sonny: Thanks for bringing her.
Alexis: You bet. You want to go see your daddy? That's a good girl.
Sonny: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, how you doing? So you miss your big brother, huh? So do I. Ok.
Courtney: Hi, Dad.
Mike: Hey, sweetheart. I -- I still can't quite believe why we're here today.
Courtney: Yeah. Yeah, a few months ago we were here for Kristinaís baptism.
Mike: Yeah, Michael was so proud of his little sister.
Courtney: Remember how sweet he was? You know, reassuring her, giving her a flower and a kiss on the cheek. Now this. It just -- it doesn't make sense.
Mike: Yeah. Well, it's rather hard to keep faith in a God that would let this happen.
Jax: Michael's death is so recent it's overshadowing his life. But in time, that will change.
Courtney: You're right. You're right, you know, instead of focusing on his death, we should be celebrating his life. Hi, Sam.
Courtney: Is Jason with you?
Sam: No. Carly stopped by, and I could tell it was obvious they needed to talk, so I came early to pray.
Courtney: How is he?
Sam: He is grieving so deeply, he cannot express it. And I am just not sure what to say to him, you know?
Courtney: Yeah, there isn't -- there isn't anything anyone can say.
Sam: I'm just -- I'm trying to stay close, you know? If he wants to talk about it, we talk. If he doesn't, then it's ok.
Courtney: Yeah, Jason loved Michael so much. I'm glad that he has you to help him through this.
Carly: You know, the reception's at our -- Sonny's house after the memorial, and there's caterers there. They're setting it up right now, and, Jase, I know you hate anything social, but your family's going to be there, and I just -- I know it's going to be hard, but --
Jason: I'll -- I'll do whatever you need me to do.
Carly: You know, so many people really, really loved Michael, and I just -- I think we owe it to him to let them share their memories and pay their condolences. Sonny agreed. I'm not sure he remembers, though.
Jason: How bad is he?
Carly: Jase, he is completely removed. Completely. He's going through the motions, and I just -- I keep expecting him to explode, you know, throw something, cry and -- the only time he's engaged is when he's with Morgan and, otherwise, he's completely detached.
Jason: He's blaming himself.
Carly: Yeah. He's blaming himself more than he even blames Faith. And I'm worried that the pain and the guilt is going to get so bad he can't take it anymore.
Sonny: So, do you want me to tell you a story? Ok. What happened was Michael went to live with God and the angels. He loved you very much and he wanted to stay here, but you know what? God decided that it was time for Michael to live with him in heaven. So he's in a beautiful place right now. There's -- you know, there's no fear, there's no anger. There's just light and goodness and -- and he's going to be there forever. Forever. But, you know, anytime that -- anytime that you think of Michael, anytime that you think of him, he'll always be right there with you. He's looking down on all of us right now. And I'll tell you another thing about him. He will always keep on loving you from heaven.
Monica: I'm so sorry, Bobbie.
Bobbie: Hey, Michael was your grandson, too. And I know you loved him just as deeply as I did.
Monica: And please, please tell Carly that my heart does go out to her.
Bobbie: Thank you. Family differences seem so trivial at a time like this, don't they?
Monica: Yes, they do.
Tracy: I don't mean to wax sentimental, but I love you with all my heart and I always will.
Dillon: I love you, too.
Brook Lynn: Hey. I'm really going to miss him.
Jax: Yeah, we all are.
Felicia: I'm so sorry for your loss.
Monica: Thank you.
Felicia: I think of him.
Bobbie: Thank you for being here. I know you loved him, too.
Georgie: Hey. You ok?
Dillon: Not liking myself very much at the moment, but --
Georgie: Dillon, I love you. You're an amazing person and Iím going to keep reminding you until you believe it.
Ric: Agent Marshall. I'm surprised to see you here.
Reese: I came to pay my respects to the little boy I couldn't save.
Elizabeth: Is Lucky here yet?
Emily: Was he allowed to leave the hospital?
Elizabeth: Well, he was so determined, the doctors finally agreed.
Emily: Oh, good. I know he should stay put, but it's going to be good to have him here.
Monica: Please, no fighting. I really couldn't handle it.
Alan: I won't do anything wrong, I promise -- for Michaelís sake.
Ned: Alcazar's here. I thought he and Sonny hated each other.
Lois: Yeah, well, he's in love with Carly, so he's probably here to support her.
Lorenzo: My condolences on Michaelís death.
Courtney: Thank you.
Lorenzo: Carly and your brother have suffered a terrible loss.
Courtney: She said that -- that you gave clues to the police to help find Kristina and Morgan. Carly is so grateful for that, so for her sake, I will try to accept that you're here as a friend of the family.
Sonny: It's Michaelís. It's got -- it's got a feature that records your best scores. He used to get, like, 590. I can't even get 300.
Carly: Sonny -- Sonny, it's time that we left for the service.
[Sonny turns game off]
Carly: Come on, let's ride together, ok?
Sonny: Yeah. Ok. I just -- I want to tell you guys -- you know, I wasn't there when Michael was born or when he was baptized, you two were, and you -- you gave me the privilege of, you know, being his father. It's just -- it's the greatest gift Iíve ever received. And I just want to thank you for sharing it with me.
Father Coates: We are gathered to remember a child we all loved. God in his wisdom knows the span of our days. He has chosen to call Michael to himself, whom he adopted as his own in baptism. Our firm belief is that Michael has entered a new and radiant life that'll never end. Our firm hope is that one day we shall all do the same. Let us ask God to comfort his family and friends, and to increase our desire --
Bobbie: Very good. Just keep your hand behind the neck and support it. Hold him really close to your body. Good. Babies like that.
Jason: How's this?
Bobbie: Well, ask him.
Jason: You comfortable, kid?
Jason: Come on, you can tell me.
Emily: "There is an appointed time for everything; a time for every affair under the heavens. A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant. A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to tear down, and a time to build. A time to weep, and a time to laugh."
Sonny: Like you said, you're home. That means you're staying.
Sonny: Well, I mean, that's the plan, right? We're a family, so that means that we're going to start living like one.
Michael: If we're a real family, how come I don't get to call you "Daddy"?
Sonny: Well, because -- you know what? I'm your father, right? And I'm going to always be your father, so that means you can get to call me whatever you like.
Michael: Except for "Bozo," "Pumpkinhead," and "Bigfoot."
Sonny: Yeah, don't call me those, please, but anything else you want to call me you can, ok?
Michael: I like "Daddy."
Sonny: Yeah, I like "Daddy," too.
Courtney: "Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing. If tongues, they will cease. If knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophesy partially. But when perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things. At present, we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face."
Carly: You know, sweetie? You don't have to take care of me. No. I'm supposed to take care of you. But I also know that just by saying it doesn't mean you're necessarily going to stop, because you're a lot like me.
Carly: Yeah, like me. I know you may think like your dad and want to act like your dad, but deep down inside you -- you are exactly like me.
Michael: That's cool.
Carly: It is?
Michael: I mean, you're smart, you're pretty, and everyone says you're really brave. I love you a lot and you love me a lot, too. I'm glad that you're my mom.
Father Coates: "Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"
Bobbie: It was a beautiful service, honey.
Carly: Thanks, mama. Oh, you were such a wonderful grandmother to Michael. You know, his face used to just light up every time he saw you.
Bobbie: Well, that's because he knew how much I adored him.
Carly: He did. You'll help me with this reception, right?
Bobbie: Of course I will.
Carly: It's just there are so many people who are coming and half of us can't stand each other, and I just -- I don't know if I can deal with that.
Bobbie: But the one thing that we all have in common is that we all loved Michael, and that'll keep us on our good behavior.
Carly: Oh, I hope so.
Bobbie: You leave it to me.
Bobbie: It's ok. There, there.
Elizabeth: Hi, Carly. We are so sorry for your loss.
Emily: It was a beautiful service.
Carly: Thanks, Emily, and thank you. Thanks for the reading. Guys, the reception's in the dining room. Feel free to enjoy the food and stuff.
Courtney: Oh, Carly. Look, I know how hard this is on both of you.
Courtney: What can I do?
Carly: Oh, you know what? Your being here means everything to me.
Courtney: How's Sonny?
Carly: He's not doing so well. I really don't know how he's going to get over this. I'm just going --
John: So Agent Marquist informs me you're going to be staying in Port Charles, gather evidence against Sonny, secure a conviction, take him down.
Reese: That's the assignment.
John: What's the matter, Agent Marshall? Don't tell me sentiments got in the way.
Reese: A little boy was murdered. I attended the memorial, and now Iím attending the reception. It's called respect for the dead.
John: And meanwhile, Sonny's going to show his respect by retaliating against anyone who ever did business with Faith, starting with the Sandoval crime family. They've been making inroads while Sonny's been searching for his children. The not-so-distraught father is going to want to make up for lost ground, and that means bullets are going to start to fly. And that should give you the proof you need to arrest him.
Reese: You're wrong. If Sonny's not retired, he will be soon. Michael's death has left him a broken man.
Sonny: When Jason arrives, I need to see him right away.
Jason: Just do me a favor and just pay attention at the reception.
Sam: What am I looking for?
Jason: Anything that's out of place, a guest who says something off about Michael, who might know too much, or covering something up. I don't know.
Sam: Well, what do you think, that Faith was working with an accomplice?
Jason: I don't know, Sam. I do know that Iím not ready to live my life without Michael. So Iím going to keep searching until I know for sure what happened to him -- and why.
Michael: Hey -- whoever's in there, I've been kidnapped. My dad is Sonny Corinthos, and he'll pay a lot of money to get me back.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Jason: How's he doing?
Carly: He's scared. I'm afraid he's going to hurt somebody.
Jason: Max said you wanted to see me about Luke.
Luke: I guess you went to Michaelís memorial?
Skye: Yes, and it's given me time to think.
Sam: Can I please see the photograph?
Reese: You're not convinced that Michaelís really dead.
