Sonny: When did you see my daughter with her mother?

Nurse: About 10 minutes ago.

Sonny: All right, Iím out of here.

Ric: Where you going?

Sonny: Alexis ran off with my child. I'm going to seal the hospital. That's what I'm going to do.

Ric: Sonny, no.

Steven: See, this is exactly why I have no social life -- I get called to the hospital right in the middle of our da-- enjoyable evening together?

Carly: Very good.

Steven: And I leave you waiting in the lounge, and I'm going to be here for no less than two hours.

Carly: Don't worry about it, Steven. We still had a good time.

Steven: Which, of course, that means that we can do it again?

Carly: Well, I don't know. Why don't you call me and find out?

Steven: So -- whoa -- when do I get to see you again?

Carly: Whoa, so -- I don't know.

Steven: I'm not letting you go until I have, at the very least, a date and -- and a time.

Carly: Ok, you're a little pushy, aren't you?

Steven: No, no, no. See, the word is "persistent."

Carly: Ok, well, in that case, I think I'll keep you in suspense.

[Music plays]

Coleman: I win. Time to pay up. You owe me a dance.

Sam: You know you're lucky you lost?

Coleman: As slow as we can make it. Come on. Come here. Feeling better?

Sam: Better all the time.

Jason: Get your hands off of her.

Coleman: What -- ugh! Come on, get off!

Emily: You have so much to live for, Nikolas. There's -- there's so much ahead of us -- the life you planned and the children we'll have.

[Monitor beeps rapidly]

Nurse: He's arresting. He's in V-fib.

Emily: I understand why you ran. Facing a lifetime of prison, you must've felt that -- that our future was gone. But it's not going to be that way. Because the love we share is too strong to be denied, Nikolas, and as -- as long as we're alive, you and I are going to be together. I'll always be with you, and you'll be with me.

[Monitor flatlines]

Nurse: Charged.

Doctor: Clear.

Nurse: He's still in V-fib!

Doctor: We're losing him. Give it to me again. Come on!

Nurse: Charged.

Doctor: Clear.

Nurse: No change.

Doctor: One more time. Come on, man.

Nurse: Charged.

Doctor: Clear.

Emily's voice: I love you, Nikolas. Always.

Emily: Connor, what are you doing here?

Sam: Hey, hey! He asked me to dance!

Jason: Yeah, and you agreed to let him put his hands all over you?

Coleman: I didn't hear the chick say no, dog.

Sam: Jason, let him go.

Coleman: You know, Sam, you're real cute and all, but you're not worth getting killed over. But if it turns out you're available, let me know.

Sam: You wanted me out of your apartment. Fine, I'm gone. What I do is not your business anymore.

Jason: Well, you said you were going to Kellyís.

Sam: I did, and then I came here for a drink, Jason. It's called getting on with my life.

Jason: With slime like Coleman?

Sam: What? You don't approve? It's my decision, not yours.

Jason: Sam, you deserve better than this.

Sam: Jason, didn't -- didn't you agree that we should go our separate ways? Didn't you say that you had nothing to offer me and I'd only get hurt in the end?

Jason: Yeah.

Sam: Yeah. So then what are you doing here? Unless, of course, there's something else you want to say?

Emily: Nikolas tried to run to freedom and got shot by a policeman, and now he's lying in the emergency room in critical condition.

Connor: I'm sorry.

Emily: Spare me the phony sympathy, Connor.

Connor: I didn't know he got shot, all right?

Emily: So why'd you come here?

Connor: Because I heard on the news that he got life in prison --

Emily: And you're here to gloat?

Connor: No!

Emily: Get out. You have done your damage, you've gotten your revenge, and I hope you choke on it.

Connor: Listen to me; I'm here to help you, Emily.

Emily: You're here -- you've already helped enough. Nikolas has got a life sentence because of you. You wanted us to pay for Maryís death and we are.

Connor: I have a plan if you just --

Emily: Look, get out of this hospital, and get out of Port Charles. I don't want you anywhere near my husband.

Connor: Would you listen to me for a --

Emily: Get out! I hate you. You've ruined our lives. Oh, God. Oh. Oh, dear God, please hear my prayer.

[Monitor beeps]

Emily: Please give Nikolas the strength to hear it, too. Fill him with faith and -- and hope. And let him feel my love, and remind him that life is good and he can't give up. His love saved me in the past. Now, dear God, let mine save him.

Doctor: We're taking him to surgery.

Monica: Yeah, is he stable?

Doctor: No, but we can't wait any longer. We're going to try and save him, but it doesn't look good.

Steven: What night works for you?

Carly: Oh, your social calendar is wide open, huh?

Steven: I have nothing on the horizon except for dinner with you.

Carly: Well, you know, I might need a little time to come down from all the -- whew! -- excitement tonight.

Steven: Then you mean me obviously almost beating you at pool?

Carly: Well, I almost kicked your butt. I was just about to when you -- oh, you didn't, by any chance, fake that page here at the hospital so you could avoid losing to me again, did you?

Steven: Well, see, I hate to ruin this fantasy of yours, but no, no I didnít.

Carly: Hmm. And my family didn't scare you away, either?

Steven: Not in the slightest. And to prove it to you, I'm going to ask you on -- um -- a real date.

Carly: Oh. Uh-uh --

Steven: Don't -- yes. See, that's exactly what you're afraid of.

Carly: Ok, listen, it's -- it's that word, "date," ok? It's conjuring up images of Florida and pimply faced boys, shopping mall, clumsy gropes in movie theaters. It's --

Steven: You dated Sonny.

Carly: No. He got me pregnant and then dragged me home to live with him.

Steven: Would you care to explain that?

Carly: It's a long story.

Steven: Good. Good, because I'd like you to tell me over a long dinner. Friday or Saturday is --

Carly: You are --

[Pager beeps]

Steven: You're off the hook.

Carly: Busy? Aw.

Steven: Yeah, you're off the hook, but I am going to keep the pressure on.

Ric: Everything's under control.

Nurse: Should I call security?

Ric: No. No, it's a family matter. There's no need to bring anybody else into this.

Sonny: I'm calling the police.

Ric: Sonny, please, can you -- can you just trust me just this once, all right? Give me a chance to bring Kristina back. I'm begging you. I'm asking you in our mother's name.

Alexis: My ex-husband isn't expecting us until tomorrow, but because there's the blizzard coming in, we were worried that we'd miss the plane. So I -- I didn't get a chance to call him in advance.

Doorman: Well, Mr. Jacks didn't say anything about visitors.

Alexis: My daughter isn't feeling so great, and I think it's -- you know, I mean, he wouldn't mind, honestly, and rather than go outside in the cold and call a taxi and try to get a hotel -- who knows with reservations --

Doorman: All right, all right.

Alexis: Thank you.

Doorman: I'll let you in.

Alexis: I really appreciate it. Thank you. Thanks. Thank you. Ok, honey, here we go. Here we go. This is nice, huh? Nice and comfortable in here. Ok, baby. As soon as Jax gets home, we'll borrow his plane and we'll go far, far away to someplace safe, ok?

Jason: Sam, Sam, I know --

Sam: No, please!

Jason: I know that you're hurting --

Sam: Jason, it's not your job to look after me. Your plate is already full, remember? You're -- you're taking care of Michael, Sonny, Carly, and Morgan. You took care of me when I was pregnant, but I'm not anymore, so --

Jason: Sam, but you need time to heal.

Sam: Yeah, that's right, I do, and I will find my own way to do it.

Jason: What, by being tough, pretending that you don't give a damn?

Sam: Oh, I hate to disappoint you, but this is who Iíve always been.

Jason: Sam, you cannot make the pain go away by hanging out with bottom feeders like Coleman.

Sam: I have been taking care of myself for most of my life. I don't need you watching out for me.

Jason: Yeah? Well, then prove it. Honor the life of your baby by treating yourself with respect. Show that you're strong enough to face grief with -- without trashing your life.

Alexis: There you go. There you go. Is that all better? Ok. All right.

TV announcer: We interrupt regular programming with a storm warning for tomorrow. Though isolated flurries are currently falling on upstate New York, heavier snows and winds are expected --

Alexis: Ok, honey. All right, as soon as Jax gets here, we're going to get on his plane before the blizzard hits, and before you know it we're going to be across the ocean, ok? All right.

Sonny: How am I supposed to trust the man who dedicated his life to wrecking mine?

Ric: All right, I have hated you in the past, but that all seems a little far behind us right now, Sonny.

Sonny: Yeah? And I'm supposed to believe that?

Ric: Sonny, a little girl has died. Right?

Sonny: Right.

Ric: Another one's trying to fight to survive. We can talk about the past, we can dredge up old vendettas, or we can focus on the present and do what is best for Kristina.

Sonny: Well, that's good advice, Ric.

Ric: Look, Sonny, it's a bad situation! What possible reason could I have for wanting to make it worse?

Sonny: I am not going to let Alexis take my daughter.

Ric: Look, she panicked, Sonny, all right? She saw a bullet rip through her nephew.

Sonny: Am I supposed to -- what, am I supposed to feel sorry now? She has lied to me for three years. She doesn't want me anywhere near Kristina, and Iím supposed to respect her pain? Huh? She blackmails me, but Iím supposed to be all right with that because she cries while she does it. Well, she's probably crying right now, telling herself that, you know what, she shouldn't have taken Kristina and she feels bad, but she has no choice. Well, I got no sympathy left! I don't give a damn anymore how Alexis feels; how sorry she is. I just -- I want my child back.

Ric: All right, well, like -- like a lot of us, Alexis doesn't necessarily think before she acts, Sonny. But if she's given a little bit of time to breathe, I'm sure she'll come around.

Sonny: Maybe, maybe not.

Ric: She deserves that chance.

Sonny: Kristina wasn't due out of the hospital, Ric. Alexis could be endangering her health. Have you thought of that?

Ric: One hour. All I'm asking is one hour. Look, give me a chance to bring Alexis around and get Kristina back here. I can't do it, then Iíll call the police myself.

Sonny: One hour. After that, all bets are off.

Ric: Thanks.

Sonny: Oh, man. Hey. I need you at the hospital. Alexis has gone too far.

Monica: Oh, Em --

Emily: Mom? Hi.

Monica: I came as soon as I got the message. I'm so sorry.

Emily: Nikolas is in the E.R. I have to get to him --

Monica: No, no, he's not. They moved him to O.R.

Emily: What, they got him stabilized?

Monica: Well, they couldn't wait. They had to take him to surgery.

Emily: What happened?

Monica: Well, he had to be revived.

Emily: You mean his -- his heart stopped? What -- what did the doctor say? Is he going to be all right?

Monica: The doctor said he has a chance, ok?

Coleman: Connor Bishop, right? I thought you were long gone, man.

Connor: I was. Now I'm back.

Coleman: What, you didn't want to miss out on our scenic snowstorm?

Connor: My business ain't done here yet.

Lucky: Hey, Coleman, I got a call from one of your neighbors about a noise complaint. What the hell are you doing back in town?

Connor: I heard about Nikolas' sentencing.

Lucky: Oh.

Connor: I thought I could help.

Lucky: So it's not enough that you just come over here and raise a glass to celebrate? It's not bad enough that you ruined the lives of my brother and his wife? You just thought -- hey, you know what? You just had to come back and have one last laugh.

Connor: I'm here to help, Lucky.

Lucky: It's too late. If you even think about stalking Emily just because Nikolas is gone, you better think damn well again.

Connor: Whoa -- he didn't make it?

Lucky: What are you talking about?

Connor: I just saw Emily. She said Nikolas tried to escape and he got shot.

Doctor: Stay ahead four units.

Nurse: Do you want the cell saver brought up?

Doctor: Absolutely. We're going to need it.

Doctor: What do you think you're doing?

Emily: I'm going to hold Nikolas' hand and talk him through the surgery.

Doctor: No one but the surgical team is allowed in.

Emily: Look, Nikolas and I have a special connection. He needs to hear my voice. It's going to help him get through the surgery.

Doctor: I'm sorry, it's impossible. All you can do now for your husband is pray.

Monica: Em? Emily, Emily, it's all right. It's going to be all right. It's going to be all right.

Carly: Sonny.

Sonny: Hey.

Carly: Hey.

Sonny: What happened to your date?

Carly: Um -- I just wanted to stop by and see you. I thought you might be here. Something wrong?

Sonny: Alexis --

Carly: Where's --

Sonny: Yeah, Alexis took Kristina and ran, and Ricís gone after her.

Carly: Did you call the police?

Sonny: Not yet.

Carly: Why not?

Sonny: How is what Alexis is doing any different than what we did to get Michael?

Alexis: The patient's name is Nikolas Cassadine. Yes, Iím -- I'm a member of the family. What? No -- no, I -- I can't --

[Door opens]

Alexis: Jax?

Ric: I had a feeling you'd be here. I flashed my badge and the doorman gave me a key.

Alexis: I need Jaxís help.

Ric: To do what, Alexis, use his jet to help you get Kristina out of the country?

Alexis: Have you come here to talk me out of it, or are you coming with us?

Sam: How'd you know Iíd come to the park and take a detour over the bridge?

Jason: I didn't. Sometimes I come here to think.

Sam: I've been doing a lot of that myself.

Jason: So you decided to go home?

Sam: You mean instead of dancing with a slime like Coleman? Yeah.

Jason: What changed your mind?

Sam: Oh, I don't know -- someone made me realize it was a bad idea. Someone who knows me pretty well.

Monica: Em, the surgery could take quite a while.

Emily: Mom --

Monica: Why don't we sit in the lounge? Come on, sweetheart.

Emily: I can't leave him.

Monica: You can't do anything for him right now.

Emily: Listen, he needs me close by. He can feel my presence, Mom. Mom, Iím sure of it. He did the same for me that night in the hospital when everyone thought that I was going to die. You and Dad, Zander, Elizabeth, Lucky, Jason -- you all -- you all gathered around to say goodbye.

Monica: Yes. We all felt very helpless.

Emily: You thought that when I closed my eyes it was going to be for the very last time. But I fell asleep and I dreamed of Nikolas, and he was in the very next room, Mom, dreaming of me, and it -- it was his love that brought me back from the brink of death.

Monica: Now you want to do the same for him.

Emily: I felt his presence when I was praying for him in the chapel, Mom, and I'm sure he heard me willing him to survive, and I just need to stay here and will his heart to keep beating.

Nikolas: I have to go now.

Emily: You can't leave.

Nikolas: You have years ahead of you. I want you to have a good life.

Emily: But we belong together.

Nikolas: I'll be waiting for you on the other side.

Emily: No, Nikolas, I won't let you.

Doctor: B.P.?

Nurse: 130/80 and holding.

Lucky: Hey. How's Nikolas?

Monica: Oh, we don't know. They're just finishing the operation.

Doctor: We've done everything humanly possible.

Nurse: What's his prognosis, doctor?

Ric: Ok, so what kind of a life are we going to have in hiding, Alexis?

Alexis: What kind of life are we going to have here?

Ric: Alexis, running is not the answer.

Alexis: What other options do I have? Because if I stay here, I can't keep her safe.

Ric: You don't know that.

Alexis: He is going to do anything to get custody, and every time that she climbs into a car, every time that she -- she enters a house, every time she opens up a Christmas present, Iím going to have to worry if it'll explode!

Ric: Ok, ok, yes, the risk is real, but it is not as dire as you are painting it.

Alexis: Which part isn't dire, because you and I both know that any one of those things could happen. Now, there's a snowstorm about to happen any minute, so we need to leave as soon as possible, and I would love it if you would come with us, and I will understand it if you don't.

Ric: Alexis, I want you and Kristina here in Port Charles with me.

Alexis: Will you at least use your resources to help me find Jax?

Ric: I don't -- look, even if I consented to do it -- you said it yourself, there's a snowstorm on --

Alexis: I don't have time to argue with you. He's probably got his thugs out looking for me right now or, ironies of ironies, he's probably called the police.

Ric: No, the police haven't been informed yet, and Sonny's men haven't been informed yet, either.

Alexis: How do you know this?

Ric: I made a deal with Sonny. He promised if I -- if I brought Kristina back within the hour that he wouldn't call the police. So we got 30 minutes.

Alexis: You had no right to bargain with my daughter, especially not with Sonny.

Sonny: You put another man's name on Michaelís birth certificate. You fought a -- a nasty battle in custody court, and I, as a last resort, forced A.J. to sign over his parental rights, all to protect Michael from his biological father.

Carly: You're not A.J.

Sonny: I know, but we cut A.J. out of Michaelís life because we believed that he was harmful to him. Now, in Alexis' eyes, you know, so am I.

Carly: You love your children, Sonny.

Sonny: Yeah.

Carly: You nurture them; you cherish them for who they are. A.J. wanted Michael as a trophy, as some sort of prize that he could trade Edward with for some corporate power. You would never barter your children the way that A.J. did with Michael.

Sonny: I'm just trying to see this from Alexis' point of view. She loves her daughter and she thinks she's doing what's best for her.

Carly: Well, do you agree? I mean, is Kristina better off without you?

Sonny: No, no.

Carly: Have you been acting in Kristinaís best interests?

Sonny: I have gone to her more than once, asked for shared custody, she's turned me down.

Carly: Well, then the way that I see it; you've got two choices here, Sonny. You either do what Alexis wants and you give Kristina up or you fight for her.

Sonny: I'm not going to lose my daughter. You know how I feel about my children.

Carly: Sonny, you're a loving father. We have been through so much. We've been through hurt, we've been through betrayal, and I will tell you there is one thing that I never, ever regretted, and that is letting you adopt my son.

Sonny: And I appreciate you, you know, allowing me to be Michaelís father.

Carly: You love him.

Sonny: Hmm. Yeah.

Carly: And I know that you will love Kristina as much. You'll figure it out.

Sonny: Thanks -- thanks for coming on such short notice.

Jordan: You said it was urgent.

Sonny: Yeah. Alexis took Kristina.

Jordan: She abducted her?

Sonny: Ok, I don't want to put a label on it. I've given Ric an hour to convince her to bring Kristina back.

Jordan: Well, this is exactly what we need to get the judge to overlook the fact that you were dragged out of the custody hearing in handcuffs. Alexis kidnapped your daughter. Use it. We should call the police immediately and have their documentation entered in as evidence.

Sonny: Ok, the hour isn't up yet.

Jordan: Well, that's a generous impulse, but it's undermining your case.

Sonny: I gave my word.

Alexis: What do you think the chances are he's going to wait an hour?

Ric: He promised.

Alexis: Yeah, and the Godfather gives his word. I'm sure he's called the police. There's an A.P.B. out on me right now.

Ric: Alexis, your best course of action is to return Kristina to the hospital safely, and then you can fight for custody in court tomorrow.

Alexis: Yeah, that ought to work really well.

Ric: Alexis, you are an excellent mother. Kristina is a happy, secure child. Sonny is a racketeer whose --

Alexis: Who's never been convicted!

Ric: Whose violence is a matter of public record, all right? He's a dangerous man, and he's a stranger to Kristina.

Alexis: 10-1, the courts won't care.

Ric: You have a fair chance! But if you run, Alexis -- if you run, Sonny is going to track you down. You know that as well as I do. There's no place on earth you're going to be able to go. You can elude the police, but Sonny's going to track you down. He's going to keep trying to track you down until he finds you, and when he does, he's going to bring you into court, and then he will have an ironclad case for custody!

Alexis: I'm just trying to buy enough time to have my daughter grow up.

Ric: All right. Well, let's think about that, huh? What about Kristina? Is she going to have a chance to make friends or feel secure, huh, if you keep moving around? Is that the kind of life that you want for her?

Alexis: No. But at least she'd survive.

Ric: Maybe. Alexis, you got to get her back to the hospital.

Alexis: Dr. Webber said that I was going to be able to take her home next week. I asked him if I took her home today if she'd be all right. He said there'd be a minimal risk.

Ric: Yes, but Dr. Webber also said that the treatment that Kristina received compromised her immune system. Now, kids get sick when they travel under normal circumstances; perfectly healthy ones. Are you so determined to run from Sonny that you're willing to put Kristinaís life at risk?

Doctor: Wait until he's settled in I.C.U.

Emily: How did the surgery go?

Doctor: We did our best to repair internal damage --

Emily: Ok?

Doctor: But there's no guarantee.

Lucky: What do you mean, there's no guarantee?

Doctor: Are there other relatives who might want to be contacted?

Emily: What? Are -- are you saying that he's dying?

Doctor: There's always hope. I've seen miracles before. Your husband needs one tonight.

Sam: What is it about this spot that makes it so special?

Jason: It's peaceful.

Sam: Yeah, it is. Yeah, I think of the baby when Iím here -- in a good way. In a good way.

Jason: What do you think about?

Sam: How I wanted to bring her here in the spring for picnics, you know, just the three of us. And over that bank, under the willow tree. When she was a toddler, I was going to teach her how to feed the ducks, and I just imagine her running and laughing and getting scraped up and dirty. After you left Jakeís, I poured myself another shot of whiskey and I just sat there staring at it, Jason. I couldn't -- I couldn't make myself drink it, because you were right. Getting drunk and dancing with Coleman -- it is not a way to honor my daughter.

Jason: So, what now?

Sam: I don't know. I don't know, but I do know that I cannot go back to the way things were before. I have to find a new way to live.

Jason: I'm sorry that I was the reason that you went to Jakeís.

Sam: No, no -- wasn't your fault. It's not your fault.

Jason: You know what? I shouldn't -- I shouldn't have asked you to move out. Will you come back?

Sam: You saw right through me at Jakeís. The party-girl act -- it's just a sham, Jason. It always was. It's kind of my defense, you know, the armor I put on to protect myself from being hurt or letting anyone get too close. Then I got pregnant, and I felt my baby kick and move inside of me, and I fell in love. My whole world had just -- it kind of shifted, you know? I am not the person I used to be, but I am not quite sure who I am now.

Jason: Hey, you don't have to be alone.

Sam: If I thought for a second that we had a future together, I would pack my bags and I'd be back tonight.

Jason: Sam, we can just take it day by day, whatever works for you.

Sam: I know, I know, but you -- you want to take care of me. That is not what I want. I've got to figure out how to do this on my own again.

Jason: I can walk you back to Kellyís.

Sam: No. Thank you. But I'll be ok. Good night.

Emily: The doctor said one visitor at a time.

Lucky: You should be first, Emily. You're the voice he needs to hear. You're the person that's got to give him strength and the will to survive.

Emily: Nikolas? The doctors say that you need a miracle, but you already have one. Our love is a miracle. We belong together. Our souls are connected. And some day many years from now, you and I are going to be together in heaven. But it's way too soon for you to leave me now. Nikolas, I need to share a lifetime with you, and you need me, too. You wouldn't let go of me when I was sick, and I have no intention of letting you go now. Nikolas, come back to me. Just hear my voice, Nikolas. Come back to me, please. Hey, baby. Hey. Welcome back.

Connor: I need the laser surgery before the holidays.

Man: I'm sorry, my schedule is full.

Connor: This can't wait.

Doctor: Look, I have openings in January.

Connor: This can't wait.

Doctor: You've lived with the scar for years. What difference will a few more weeks make?

Connor: It's personal. This needs to happen now.

Steven: You're back.

Carly: Yeah, you know, you asked me out to dinner tonight, right? But in all the excitement, I realized we didn't end up eating, and so I started thinking about all the things I had at home in my freezer. I've got frozen pizza, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly.

Steven: Sounds like all the makings of a gourmet meal.

Carly: It is. But then all of a sudden I was thinking about the mystery meatloaf right here in the cafeteria, and I was wondering if they had enough for two.

Steven: There's only one way to find out.

Jordan: It's been an hour. Alexis isn't back with Kristina.

Sonny: Jordan, can you just give them a few minutes?

Jordan: Yeah. You're the client. As long as you realize that you're wasting your best chance at full custody.

Sonny: There they --

Ric: Go inside.

Alexis: It's all right, darling. Ooh. It's ok, my angel. Mommy's going to make this all right somehow, ok? I promise.

Ric: So much for your word of honor.

Sonny: I said I wouldn't call the police.

Ric: So you called your custody lawyer instead?

Sonny: No, I'm not going to file any charges against Alexis.

Jordan: Ms. Davis endangered Kristinaís health by removing her from the hospital prematurely. I will submit that fact as evidence tomorrow when the custody hearing resumes.

Ric: You know perfectly well that Kristinaís health was not in danger.

Jordan: The doctor hadn't released her yet. I have everything I need to prove that Alexis is an unfit mother.

Sonny: Tomorrow I will win full custody of my daughter.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Emily: I haven't left your side all night.

Nikolas: Stop.

Connor: I need to get my hair dyed and cut. Yeah, I know exactly how I want to look.

Sonny: Alexis knows she lost.

Alexis: I've done everything I can, but I don't think it was enough.

Lois: Where did you meet this woman who got you shot?

Diego: What are you doing here?
