Jax: I'm sorry, Sister. I -- I don't know what to say.
Nun: Oh, for shame, Father.
Jax: Yeah, it was a mistaken case of identity --
Nun: Do not try to -- to justify reprehensible behavior. I -- I stand here appalled and dismayed, and I -- I can't think of one single reason why I shouldn't have you brought in front of the provincial for a disciplinary hearing. Ahem.
Jax: This might take the sting off it a little. I'm -- I知 not actually a priest.
Nun: Then you're a -- a predator.
Carly: You know, what I found out doesn't really matter. It's just that you were right all along. I never had a father. I don't miraculously have one now.
Bobbie: But you know something. So, come on, Carly, share it. After all these years, don't you think I deserve to know the name of the stranger who fathered my daughter?
John: You're sure?
Steven: Yeah, the D.N.A. results are definitive. You've been excluded as a match. Carly's not your daughter.
John: What about the samples you ran in New York? They indicate some sort of blood relationship between me and Carly.
Steven: Well, I told you at the time that those results were preliminary, and you may very well be a distant relative of Carly痴, second or third cousin. But the fact remains -- she's not your daughter, so you can't use her to go after Sonny.
Sonny: I just want what's best for my child. I don't --
Sam: It is my child, too, Sonny! That's what I'm trying to --
Jason: Stop! This has to end!
Sonny: Then end it now! Get her to sign the damn papers!
Jason: Sam, you need to listen.
Sam: Don't do this to me, Jason.
Jason: Now, you don't have to sign anything you don't want to.
Jax: Despite appearances to the contrary, I知 not a pervert.
Jax: I'm fully dressed under this thing. See?
Nun: Oh. Oh -- um -- well, you said that you could explain, and I知 willing to listen to you.
Jax: Well, the woman I mentioned? Courtney.
Jax: She's driven me to distraction. I haven't been able to act rationally for quite some time now. Mostly when I'm -- when I'm around her, which, you know -- it drives me to crazy measures like this. The lady gives me no choice. You see, she was hurt badly in a previous relationship, and you know what they say -- "Once bitten, twice shy." Well, that's what they say, and, anyway, she -- she's fighting her feelings for me. That's why she came here -- to hide from her feelings that she has for me.
Nun: But your personal feelings for this girl don't give you the right to try and tempt her away from her sacred vows.
Jax: Oh, no, no, no, no. No, she hasn't taken any vows. I mean, you know, she isn't no -- she's no more a nun than I am a priest. She's doing exactly what I said she's doing -- she's hiding here. So I知 going to take her home. So, we're just two people fumbling our way down the path to romance. So have a heart, Sister -- for the cause of what could be true love by looking the other way, and I promise the both of us will be out of your hair -- and your wimple.
Nun: Well -- um -- I've been distracted from my evening prayers too long, and if you happen to leave while my back is turned, I'll forget tonight ever happened.
Jax: Bless you, Sister.
Nun: Oh --
Faith: You got a smudge.
Skye: Hey -- get away from me!
Faith: I was just trying to help.
Skye: Yeah, well, I've been bathing myself for years. I don't need any help, especially yours.
Faith: Why do you have to be so hostile?
Skye: Because I can't stand you.
Faith: Well, you know what? That was on the outside when you had a choice. Now we're going to be stuck in this tiny, little cell together for who knows how long. I thought we were starting to develop a level of trust.
Skye: Hmm. Whatever gave you that idea?
Faith: Gee, maybe the -- the hole that we've been digging out of this place?
Skye: No, that would be the lack of choice you mentioned, not a bonding experience. You're blackmailing me. I have no choice but to cooperate with you. It doesn't mean I want to be girlfriends.
Faith: Then how about being my bitch?
Faith: Look, we have got some long, lonely nights ahead of us. Why not make the best of the situation? Frankly, I kind of like the idea. It's exciting, and, you know, I've always kind of been drawn to you.
Skye: My God, you really are insane.
Faith: You know that whole ice princess thing? It screams passionate nature dying to get out. We both have needs. How about we help each other fill them?
John: No. No, it does not add up. Why would a mobster's wife approach me, of all people, a man whose entire life is dedicated to wiping organized crime off the map? And why was she so curious about my family?
Steven: She might've been on a fishing expedition for her husband. And you've always been high profile, so Sonny's going to know who you are. And he's got to realize that eventually he's going to make it to the top of your hit list, so he could've decided to do a preemptive strike by sending his very attractive wife to pump you for personal information which he could use should the need arise.
John: Plausible. But not likely. He'd never send his wife -- the mother of his children -- as a spy.
Steven: You would.
John: Corinthos isn't me. He'd want women and children off the boat first, always. No. No, something's off. I want you to stay very close to Carly. If she's not my daughter, I want to know more than ever why she tracked me down.
Carly: I admit -- I mean, finding my father filled every romantic notion that I have. Long-lost daughter and father are reunited, and daughter finds that missing piece and she becomes whole. And love surmounts all obstacles.
Bobbie: Hmm. Why are we like that?
Carly: Well, Sonny says it's because we read too many fairy tales at too young an age, and so we buy into that whole Prince Charming thing so much that we forget to notice the old crones, you know, that eat the children for dinner. I don't know. Anyway, it's just -- the more I thought about it, the more it slapped me in the face. I do not think it could work, you know? Even if my father had a place for me in his life, I certainly don't have one for him, you know, because of Sonny's business. We can't risk letting strangers in. I mean, what if my father turned out to be not such a nice guy, and he tried to blackmail Sonny or he tried to exploit my relationship with him in some way?
Bobbie: I think you're right. And it may be painful to give up your dream, but getting to know your father could have a devastating effect down the line.
Carly: Yeah. Besides, you know, I don't need to reach out to strangers. I have all the family that I need right here.
Sonny: This is what I知 trying to avoid -- arguments, misunderstandings. I want this over before the baby is born. Can you just sign the papers, Sam?
Jason: Sonny, that's her decision.
Sonny: Sam is my daughter's mother. I intend to do what's best for both of them. Right now that means finalizing the agreement, Jason.
Jason: How is it an agreement if you keep ordering her to sign the papers?
Sonny: Why are you putting yourself in the middle of this? This is my child!
Jason: I am in the middle of this!
Sam: Stop it, both of you, please! I do not want you fighting over me or this baby. It is enough now.
Jason: Ok, Sam, I just need a second, ok?
[Door opens and closes]
Jason: Sonny, don't you get this? If you keep pushing Sam, she's going to run. That's her first instinct. She could hurt herself and the baby just trying to get away from you.
Skye: Ugh! What the hell is wrong with you?
Faith: Why are you so uptight? What's a little kiss between cellmates?
Skye: Hey, listen, whatever floats your boat is fine. That's none of my business, all right, but I happen to like men, so just get it out of your mind, all right?
Faith: Where's your sense of adventure? Who knows? You might have a life-altering experience. I've been told I知 very capable.
Faith: Guard! Guard!
Skye: Hey! What are you screaming about?
Skye: I'm the one being molested here!
Faith: Help! I need help in here!
Skye: You snake! You want me thrown in solitary so you can take advantage of that tunnel that I've been busting my butt for months to dig.
Faith: Brilliant, isn't it? Guard --
Skye: You shut up right now, you hear me? There's no way I知 going to let you get away with this!
Faith: The only way that you're going to get away with it is if you tell him about that tunnel, and I don't see that happening.
Skye: Oh, yeah? Try me.
Faith: Guard! Guard!
Skye: Hey! Hey!
Officer: Now what's going on in here?
Both: She assaulted me!
Courtney: Oh, God.
Courtney: It's Courtney. I need to speak with Jason.
Sam: He's not here right now. Is everything all right?
Courtney: No. Can you just tell him to call me? It's important.
Jason: Sonny, please. Sam needs some room right now, that's all.
Sonny: She's not going to get sole custody, Jason.
Jason: That's not want she wants. This whole thing wouldn't be an issue if you hadn't had the papers drawn up.
Sonny: Sam's the one making this a fight. What are you talking about?
Jason: Then you need to be the one just to back down for once.
Sonny: I'm going to be a good father. That, I'm not backing off from.
Jason: And a good father puts his child's needs above his own. When are you going to start doing that?
John: I'm looking for Carly Corinthos. Do you know her?
Elizabeth: Everybody knows Carly.
John: Hmm. Well, I heard that she's somewhere here in the hospital, meeting with her mother --
John: Whose name unfortunately escapes me.
Elizabeth: Bobbie Spencer?
John: Right. Right. Bobbie Spencer.
Faith: Look -- look what she did to me! Look!
Skye: I was defending myself against this woman's unwanted sexual advances.
Faith: She is a liar. She came on to me. I could -- I could barely hold her off! It was all I could do to fight her off me. And, look, for your information, I have never been attracted to a woman in my life. And if I were to start experimenting, it would not be with somebody as unstable and dangerous as you!
Faith: Look, clearly -- clearly, this woman needs to be caged, like the wild animal she is.
Officer: What I see is this living arrangement ain't going to work.
Faith: Oh, thank God. Finally, a woman with sense.
Skye: You can't possibly believe these outrageous lies!
Officer: Back away from the doors.
Faith: What are you doing? Get your hands off me! What are you doing?
Officer: You're going to solitary --
Faith: No, no, no, no, no!
Officer: For your own protection.
Faith: She -- she's the one that -- she attacked me! No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no! No, no, no, no, no, no! No, no, she attacked me. No, no! Please, listen to me! Listen to me! No, really, listen to me!
Skye: Ah. Bye-bye, psycho woman.
Courtney: Oh, God. You got here sooner than I thought.
Jax: It was a nice try. But I'm not going to let you win our bet on a steal.
Jason: Sam? Sam?
Sam's voice: "Dear Jason, I don't have the words to thank you for everything you've done for me and my daughter, but I won't be the reason you and Sonny fight or the wedge that comes between you and the family you fought so hard to save. So, pick up the pieces and start over. I'll be somewhere doing the same. All my best, Sam. Oh, P.S., Courtney wants you to call. She said it's important."
Sam: Bobbie, hi. I was hoping you were here.
Bobbie: Oh, yeah, but not for long. I'm on a break, and I got to get back to the hospital.
Sam: Ok. Before you go, I just -- I wanted to know if I could maybe rent a room.
Bobbie: Here? I thought you were happily ensconced with Jason.
Sam: Not anymore, no.
Bobbie: Oh, well, sorry, but I don't think I can help you.
Sam: Ok, then, if it's not too much trouble, maybe you could put me on a waiting list or something?
Bobbie: Look, Sam, I知 not saying that I don't have a vacancy, but I don't think Carly would be very happy if I rented a room to you.
Sam: Trust me; I think Carly would do a dance of joy if she knew I wasn't living across the hall from her anymore.
Bobbie: Well, somehow I think Carly would be a lot happier if you moved a lot farther away than Kelly痴.
Steven: Hey. Why'd you call me back here?
John: Just made an interesting discovery. I wanted to share it with you. See the redhead in there? Name is Barbara Jean Spencer. Last time I saw her was 29 years ago in Florida. She was a prostitute. I was her best customer. You know what else?
John: She has a 28-year-old daughter. Care to guess her name? Don't worry; I値l spare you the mental effort. Carly Corinthos. Wow. One hell of a coincidence, huh? I mean, it has to be a coincidence, right, because you stood here not more than an hour ago and you told me that Carly was not my daughter.
Steven: I lied. Carly Corinthos is your daughter.
Carly: I think we have a problem, and I知 not sure how big. It could be huge.
Sonny: Well, you better tell me.
Carly: I haven't been honest with you. You know John Durant, the federal prosecutor from Manhattan?
Sonny: What about him?
Carly: I think he's my father.
Jax: You know, you're a lot more devious than I imagined. A Sister hiding out in a convent?
Courtney: You are in no position to talk, Jax. Not only did you impersonate a priest, but you violated the sanctity of the confessional.
Jax: Oh, so you knew that I was on the other side of the screen? You just decided to go along with it, huh?
Jax: Is that why your confession was so titillating? You were setting me up.
Courtney: Why don't you take responsibility for your own actions, Jax? It's not my fault you pulled some unsuspecting nun into a lip lock.
Jax: That unsuspecting nun was very understanding, once I explained that you deliberately deceived me.
Courtney: That's so not true, Jax. I just needed to get away.
Jax: No, let me explain something to you --
Jax: You cheated, ok?
Jax: You're a cheat. Actually, I'm flattered about that. It means that you're on the breaking point. It means that, you know, you're -- you're barely restraining yourself --
Jax: And you're going to invite me into your bed anytime and beg me to make love to you.
Courtney: In your dreams.
Jax: I don't know. According to you, that would be in your dreams. See, you're afraid that you won't be able to hold out until the deadline. That's why you resorted to trickery.
Courtney: Go away.
Jax: No, no, no, you're not listening. When we made this bet, we agreed -- we never agreed that you would hide out for three months. We agreed that I would have reasonable access to you --
Jax: For dating and dancing and kissing.
Courtney: No, I -- I agreed to one or two kisses, as the occasion warranted. That's it.
Jax: Well, this one does.
Sam: I am so sorry. If I would've given it a second thought, I would've probably known your answer. It's not my intention to put you in the middle of anything. I'm lucky enough that you let me even eat here. I'm not going to push my luck.
Bobbie: Thank you for understanding my position.
Jason: I thought you might come here.
Sam: Apparently, being pregnant with Sonny's child disqualifies me as a tenant.
Jason: Where are you going to go?
Sam: I haven't really thought about that. You got my note?
Jason: I really do appreciate what you're trying to do, but do not leave or stay because of me. Sam, you have a tough decision to make, and you need to forget about everything else that has happened, and base it on what's best for you and the baby, period.
John: You and I have worked together for years, doc. I trusted you, and I don't trust anybody. And for all those years we worked together, your work was above reproach. Now, two days after meeting Carly Corinthos, all of a sudden you're falsifying D.N.A. reports, you're lying to me about her true identity -- what -- I'm sorry, did I miss something here? What is this, love at first sight? Did her gangster husband pay you off?
Steven: I lied for you to protect you from violating your own principles.
John: Well, with all due respect, Steve, that's not your call to make. Carly is my daughter, and I had a right to know.
Steven: And what about Carly? What about her right to tell you if she wants you to know?
Sonny: Are you sure? How long have you known?
Carly: Look, I still don't know for sure. I mean, there is no proof that he's my father. There's no D.N.A. That says so, but I just believe it. And I think he suspects it, and that's why he's here.
Sonny: Durant's in Port Charles?
Carly: I just saw him at the hospital. He was asking questions about Bobbie.
Sonny: Ok. Tell me everything from the beginning.
Carly: Ok, Sonny, my first day in Manhattan, I -- I looked up a John Durant that was in Ruby's ledger. It turned out he was a federal prosecutor. I figured out where he went for drinks, and I found out a way to meet him. I lied to him. I told him I was a law student, and I told him I was writing a book, and -- Sonny, right away I realized there was no possible way that this guy could be a father to me, so I left. I went back to the hotel room, and Coleman was waiting there for me --
Sonny: And he tried to blackmail you? Right?
Carly: Yeah, and then you showed up. And then Coleman left, and then -- and then he came back, and he showed up with that file already all prepared. All I could do was play along. And then when you told me that you realized that Durant had an agent bug our room, I thought he was after you, not me. God, Sonny, I -- I don't know how he could have possibly figured out that he could be my father.
Sonny: Did he buy you a drink?
Jax: Not even close.
Courtney: No, you're groping, Jax. I distinctly remember you promising you wouldn't grope.
Jax: Yeah, and you -- and I remember you promising that you would give me a fair chance.
Courtney: Oh, come on. I have been more than fair, Jax. I mean -- oh, come on. I've spent countless, endless evenings in your company. I've -- I've flown to Europe and the Caribbean. I've put up with all your lame come-ons --
Courtney: And I have been pawed within an inch of my life. I need a break.
Jax: No, you don稚. You need a place to hide or you're going to lose the bet. Every day, it's harder for you to resist me.
Courtney: Oh, my God. You're -- you're relentless, Jax, you are.
Courtney: Ok, fine, fine. You're right. You're right, I want you.
Courtney: I want you. I have erotic dreams about you at night.
Jax: I know.
Courtney: I have fantasies about you during the day. Everything that I said in that confessional was true.
Jax: I know.
Courtney: It is. I melt every time you touch me. But none of that matters because I will not be making love to you.
Jax: Why is winning so important to you?
Courtney: Oh, no, no, uh-uh --
Jax: No, really, seriously, why --
Courtney: No, no, that would be you, Jax, that would be you. Seriously. I mean, you're the one -- you're the one who wants to win at any cost. You know it, too. I see it over and over.
Courtney: The quest is everything for you. And then the competition is over, and then you're on to the next new thing. Ok, I'll admit, I've never -- I've never met anyone like you, Jax, ok? You're -- you're amazing, all right? Every sane woman would want you. I mean, you're -- you're handsome, you're sexy, you're fun. I mean, you're caring and considerate, and on top of it, you're filthy rich.
Jax: I'm not hearing a problem.
Courtney: Oh. Look, I'm sure -- I'm sure sleeping with you would be a transcendent experience.
Courtney: But it's the morning after that I can't wrap my head around. Somehow, I think I won't be as fascinating to you once I知 no longer out of reach.
Jax: You really underestimate yourself, you know that? Sure, you've been a challenge, but you're also beautiful. I mean, you came into my life and you lit up all the dark places. You made me feel again. You really did that. So I don't think that I will be walking away from this anytime soon. And I promise you, if we make love, it won't be the end. It will be a new beginning for both of us.
Jax: What was that for?
Courtney: I'm sorry. You -- I don't trust you, Jax, and right now, I really -- I don't trust myself.
Jason: If you think it's better for you and the baby to move on, you're not going to have to depend on Sonny's money. I'm going to give you whatever you need. But if you decide to go the other way, and, you know, you want to keep peace with Sonny by signing the paper, I'm not going to try to talk you out of it, Sam.
Sam: No, Jason, the last thing I want to do is sign Sonny's paper. But if I refuse, he's going to blame you.
Jason: Look, I already told you, you don't have to worry about me.
Sam: Oh, I'm sorry, but I can't help it. Sonny can be lethal, and nothing puts fire in his eyes more than battling over one of his children. He might even put you in a dangerous situation, and if you got hurt -- or God forbid, killed -- I would never be able to forgive myself, and I don't think Sonny would be able to forgive himself, either. He can't see past his own paranoia right now, and he's being arbitrary and mean, probably over the guilt of getting me pregnant in the first place, but that is about me. It has nothing to do with you.
Jason: I'm loyal to Sonny, but that does not mean that I can't see when he's wrong, Sam. And right now, he's not being fair to you. And I'd like to be. Ok? So whatever you need for this baby, just to have this baby in peace, I want to give it to you. Even, you know, if that means me keeping my distance. Is that what you want?
Steven: Do you think it's right or ethical for a man to use his own child? Because that's what you told me you were going to do if Carly turned out to be your daughter. You said you were going to use her to get evidence against Sonny.
John: Oh, come on, kid. We're not talking about a 5-year-old girl in bobby socks here. We're talking about Carly Corinthos, a grown woman who, by the way, happens to have profited greatly from her husband's illegal business activities.
Steven: She is your flesh and blood. That bond is sacred. It's to be treasured and honored, not abused or exploited. I know what I'm talking about. I have a mother straight out of hell. And from the day I was born, she used me to extort money to manipulate my father. I was a pawn to her, and I despise her for it. It's a terrible feeling to hate your parent, and I certainly wish better for you. Carly may seem like an easy way into the biggest win of your career, but she is your only child. If you disrespect that connection, you're going to lose her forever.
Sonny: John Durant is a federal prosecutor. He has access to state-of-the-art forensics. Probably had your glass analyzed. Once you were identified, he did a background check, right, which gave him all the information he needed -- where you live, who your husband is, who your mother is. Once he saw Bobbie痴 name, he probably, you know, ordered a D.N.A. test.
Carly: Sonny, why do I feel violated all of a sudden? Oh, my God!
Sonny: Let me tell you something. If this guy is your father, he is a cold and calculating man. You cannot lose sight of that because everything we hold sacred would be wrecked.
Carly: I just opened the door to a man who means you nothing but harm.
Sonny: Not intentionally. But at least -- you know, at least you're telling me now, right? Why don't you help me understand why you lied to me?
Carly: Because I didn't want what is about to happen. I didn't want you and my father to be mortal enemies.
Officer: Quartermaine? Quartermaine? Hit the alarm. There's an escape in progress.
Faith: Enjoy it while you can, Skye. Because one day, I am going to make you real sorry you left me in here.
Courtney: Jason, it's me again. Look, I'm -- I知 really sorry to bother you, but I need a huge favor. Jax and I -- we're coming to the end of this stupid bet and he's pulling out all the stops and the only -- the only way to back him off is if you help me, so please just call me. Look, I know it's a strange request, but I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't desperate.
Jax: You know, if the last three months haven't proven that you can trust me, I'll make sure the next 24 hours will. I'm going to make love to you and then I知 going to stay the night, and then you will know what I already know -- you and I are for real.
Sam: It's true. I was leaving because of you because I don't want to be the reason you lose anything, Jason.
Jason: Sam, I can take care of myself. And I can take care of you and the baby if that's what you want.
Sam: It is. I want to go back to your apartment and I want to bore you with all my baby books and DVD痴 and stuff. Look, I know you've done, like, everything for me, and if you don't mind --
Sam: I'm starving, but I don't have any money. Would you buy me something to eat, please? I know.
Jason: You know, I'm going to take your bag to the car and I'm going to let you order yourself something.
Sam: Thank you.
Bobbie: Audrey told me you'd joined the staff, so welcome.
Steven: Thank you very much.
Bobbie: And you -- you must be so happy to have your big brother back in town.
Elizabeth: I have missed him so much.
Steven: Ok, I'm going to remind you you said that when I知 driving you crazy.
Elizabeth: Oh, stop.
Bobbie: Hmm, well, I値l be a witness to that.
Elizabeth: I've got to get back to work, you guys. You just get acquainted, ok?
Steven: I'd like that. Your reputation precedes you. I've already heard from every doctor here that Bobby Spencer is the best O.R. Nurse General Hospital's ever seen.
Bobbie: Well, don't tell anybody, but I pay them to say that. You wrapped my daughter Carly痴 arm when she twisted it and they brought her in.
Steven: Guilty as charged.
Bobbie: Actually, I'm just a little curious about something because any intern could've taken care of that kind of a minor procedure, so I致e been wondering why you decided to take such a special interest.
Steven: Well, I had met Carly and her sons before and they were very kind to me, so I was just returning the favor. Did I do something wrong?
Bobbie: Not as long as you understand that Carly is very married and she leads a complicated life.
Carly: When I found out that John Durant was a federal prosecutor, I assumed there was no way that we could have a father/daughter relationship, but I wanted to look into his eyes. I just wanted to hear his voice.
Sonny: It must've been hard not to say anything.
Carly: Sonny, I wasn't going to risk the family that I have with you for some fantasy connection with a man who didn't even know that I existed.
Sonny: You should've told me.
Carly: I know. I know that now. I just wish I'd never put this whole thing in motion.
Sonny: Well, there's nothing wrong with, you know, wanting to know where you come from.
Carly: You're not mad at me?
Sonny: Look, I can kind of see why you chose not to tell me the truth. I know it -- you know, it was probably hard and it -- at least you're coming clean with me now.
Carly: Sonny, it's not hard. This is easy. There is no way that I am going to let John Durant, now that he's here and obviously a threat, put you in danger because I'm keeping a secret.
Sonny: You're not worried about your father?
Carly: I don't know him. I'm worried about you.
[Knock on door]
Max: John Durant is asking to see you.
Sonny: Let him in.
Sonny: Are you here on federal business or did you come to see your daughter?
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Simon: Are you ready?
Brook Lynn: For what?
Simon: For your extreme makeover.
Lorenzo: I'm glad we ran into each other. I missed you.
Jason: It's a bet?
Jax: Why am I to blame for you kissing Jason?
Courtney: Because you pushed me to do it!
John: I came to see my daughter.
