[Emily and Nikolas giggle]

Justus: Don't even bother to ask me where Faith is because I have no idea.

Jason: She was locked up at the Quartermaines'. You helped her get out.

Justus: I had nothing to do with it. Faith escaped on her own.

Jason: You're lying, Justus. And you keep this up; you're going to get yourself killed.

Sonny: You living with Jason -- it's just -- it's just a bad idea.

Sam: Jason has been wonderful, selfless. He loves this baby like his own.

Sonny: The situation is complicated enough without you and the baby living across the hall from me and Carly, and now you read more into the situation -- this living situation -- than Jason intends. I mean --

Sam: No, you know, Jason just wants to help. Why is that so threatening to you?

Sonny: I hurt you, ok? Maybe, you know -- I don't know, you're looking for some security, a little payback -- I don't know. I mean, but you know what? Living with Jason, getting involved with Jason, whatever --

Sam: "Involved"? There is nothing going on between me and Jason besides a sincere concern for this baby. Our daughter needs a full-time father, Sonny. Now, all of the sudden, you're acting all territorial.

Sonny: I'm going to give my daughter whatever she needs. What are you talking about?

Sam: You can't, Sonny! You have Carly, you have Michael, you have Morgan. It's a simple fact that Jason has more time in his life to spend --

Sonny: Jason works all the time! He works all the time! He's on call 24/7. That's not going to change because you and the baby are living at his house!

Sam: How far are you willing to go to stop Jason from seeing our baby?

Sonny: Ok. You're tired, getting a little emotional.

Sam: Answer the question, Sonny. Are you going to make sure he's too busy working to be with the baby or are you going to put him in danger to keep him from being a part of our daughter's life?

Sonny: Jason's like family. I love him like a brother.

Sam: I've seen the way you love, Sonny. You are devoted and protective until loving someone gets in your way, and then you stop.

Carly: Hi.

Doorman: Oh, can I help you, Miss?

Carly: Oh, no, thanks. I'm just going up to see John Durant.

Doorman: I got to have a name.

Carly: Um -- Carly?

Doorman: Are you related to Mr. Durant?

Carly: Why do you ask?

Doorman: I got strict orders. The only people Mr. Durant wants upstairs are members of his family.

Courtney: Jax --

Jax: Mm-hmm?

Courtney: We have to stop.

Jax: Yeah, well, we will stop tomorrow.

Courtney: No, no --

Jax: Tomorrow we'll stop.

Courtney: Now.

Jax: You know -- you know I don't give a damn about this stupid bet. You know that.

Courtney: That's not it, ok?

Jax: Then why do you keep pretending that you don't want me?

Courtney: Look, I'm ready to make love to you, only I don't want to do it on a chaise lounge in the middle of a snake-infested garden.

Jax: Oh, come on, there was one snake, and that snake is long gone.

Courtney: Why take the risk? I want -- I want our first time to be perfect.

Jax: It will be. It will be perfect. Just give it five minutes, and you won't even know where you are.

Courtney: Music? Champagne? A couple tiki torches to set the mood, maybe? Come on.

Jax: Ok, all right, all right. I will call concierge and see what I can do.

Courtney: Thank you.

Jax: You're welcome.

Courtney: I'll be right back.

Jax: Wait a second. Where are you going?

Courtney: Well, I'm just going to freshen up, change my outfit. Don't worry. I won't be long.

Jax: Really?

Courtney: Uh-uh.

Jax: I don't think so. You're not going anywhere.

Carly: Well, maybe I'm not a member of the family, but I really need to see Mr. Durant. It's very important.

Doorman: Why is that? You got a thing for celebrities?

Carly: What's that supposed to mean?

Doorman: What? You're telling me you haven't seen this?

Carly: "Durant Busts Soho Drug Syndicate." Says here he's -- they call him "The most powerful federal prosecutor in the country."

Doorman: Yeah, he's not a bad tipper, either.

Carly: Huh. Wow, he looks really confident and really strong. I bet he's really, really good at what he does, huh?

Doorman: He's the best. He's out to break the back of the mob. He's taking down the family heads one by one.

Sonny: My life doesn't leave room for betrayal.

Sam: No, it goes deeper than that. You can't stand to be disobeyed.

Sonny: Jason does what he wants. I give him orders. He doesn't always follow them.

Sam: You mean like when you told him to stay away from Courtney?

Sonny: Yeah, that's one. There's other ones, you know, but we get past it.

Sam: Really? Well, this time is different.

Sonny: Why?

Sam: Why?

Sonny: Yeah.

Sam: Because if you see Jason as someone who's going to keep you from your daughter, you're going to see him as an enemy.

Sonny: Ok, first of all, nobody's going to keep me from my daughter.

Sam: Do you honestly believe that I would try and do that?

Sonny: Well, you know what? I mean, it looks like you're on your way.

Sam: You are wrong, Sonny. This is your baby conceived in love, and that's how I will raise her. I want you to be a part of her life.

Jason: Faith was locked in a walk-in freezer. Somebody let her out. It had to be you because nobody else would do it.

Justus: I had my reasons for signing on as Faith's attorney. I never expected you and Sonny to approve.

Jason: You planning to get her out of town?

Justus: I already told you, I --

Jason: You'll never make it. Airports, roads are covered, but that's not your biggest problem.

Justus: I assume that would be you and Sonny.

Jason: No, not us -- Faith. Can't you see she's using you? And when she's done, she's going to stab you in the back without thinking twice.

Justus: I know you're my cousin and everything, but am I really supposed to believe you're worried about me?

Jason: Yeah. Look, I don't want to see you throwing your life away on someone who doesn't deserve it.

Justus: Everyone changes, Jason. You of all people should understand that.

Jason: Faith is Sonny's enemy. You help her and you will be, too.

Justus: And where does that leave you?

Jason: I'm looking for Faith, and I'll find her. I just -- I want to give you the chance not to be there when I do.

Justus: Thank you.

Emily: Ow --

Nikolas: Ow --

Emily: Ow!

Nikolas: Sorry.

[Emily giggles]

Emily: That was smooth.

Nikolas: Sorry.

Emily: I think we're becoming a danger to ourselves.

Nikolas: Did I hurt you?

Emily: No, uh-uh. You couldnít. Now that I have you back, nothing could ever hurt me again.

[Emily sighs]

Emily: Unless --

Nikolas: What?

Emily: No, never mind.

Nikolas: You're still worried about the charges against me?

Emily: Aren't you?

Nikolas: She had already killed two people and then threatened you. Alexis believes she can get me off on self-defense. She already convinced Lansing to reduce the charges to attempted manslaughter.

Emily: But if Maryís found not guilty by reasons of insanity, then what -- what you did to her could seem worse.

Nikolas: Right, but she still has to be evaluated by a doctor. And even then, that doesn't mean she's going to get off.

Emily: But you know how vulnerable she can look, Nikolas. People could feel sorry for her. I mean, they could wind up thinking that she's the victim. She could convince them of that, and we can't --

Nikolas: Shh, shh -- let's not talk about that right now, ok? We're here together, and that's all that really matters. Come here.

Ric: Hello, Mary. How are you feeling?

Mary: Where's Connor? Why didn't you bring my husband to see me?

Courtney: You know, for someone so confident, you sure do worry a lot about being rejected.

Jax: Oh, really?

Courtney: Mm-hmm.

Jax: You know, funny thing -- when you're in my arms, you can't resist me. And in case you hadn't noticed, the feeling's mutual. But as soon as you pull away, you get scared and then you start running.

Courtney: What do you think I'm going to do? You think I'm going to hop in a cab and go to the airport? What?

Jax: Not a chance because I'm not going to let you out of my sight.

Courtney: All I am asking is that our first time is perfect.

Jax: It will be. It will be perfect. And so will the second and the third --

Courtney: You know, it's going to get dark soon, too. Candles might help, don't you think? Maybe?

Jax: We don't need them. We can light up the night all by ourselves.

Courtney: A bed. Why don't we -- a bed would be good -- ahem.

Jax: A bed?

Courtney: Oh, God. No. You're right. This is the right time.

Courtney: Oh, wait a minute, Jax, don't move. The snake is back.

Jax: Oh, good! He can watch.

Courtney: No --

Jax: Come here.

Courtney: Jax, I'm serious, I'm serious. He's curled up right behind you. I don't want you to get hurt.

Jax: That's very funny. You know what? Come here.

Courtney: Jax!

Jax: Ah -- ow! Ow!

Ric: Mary, I -- I'm sorry to tell you this, but Connor is dead.

Mary: No. No, that's not true. He swore we'd spend the rest of our lives together.

Ric: No, dear, he was killed in action. I can get you a copy of his death certificate if that's what you want.

Mary: No. No. You're in on this, aren't you? You're lying to me like the rest of them. Connor is alive, and I'm not going to let you fool me. I'm going to find him right now.

Ric: No, Mary, please --

Mary: No!

Ric: You've just recovered --

Mary: Get away from me! Help! Help me!

Ric: Calm down. Ok. I'm not here to hurt you --

Mary: Don't touch me!

Ric: I just want to ask you a couple of questions.

Nurse: What's going on?

Mary: I don't want these people in my room!

Nurse: Gentlemen, you're going to have to leave.

Ric: I understand. We never meant to upset you.

Mary: I'm not listening to any more of your lies!

Nurse: Now!

Ric: Ok. It's ok. Come on, let's go.

Nurse: I'm going to have to report this to her doctor.

Ric: What do you think?

Lucky: Mary's protecting herself by acting crazy. Everything she said and did was just an act.

Ric: Yeah, she's definitely setting herself up for a plea of insanity.

Lucky: What are the chances of her getting away with this?

Ric: Oh, from what I just saw? A very good one.

Emily: What are you thinking?

Nikolas: How much I love you.

Emily: And? I know there's something worrying you.

Nikolas: We were just -- we were so close to getting our lives back together, you know?

Emily: Hey, I'm still here, aren't I?

Nikolas: I know. For how long?

Emily: Forever.

Nikolas: Mac was right there. Why -- why didn't I just let him take care of it?

Emily: She's insane, Nikolas. You fired in self-defense.

Nikolas: No, we agreed not to talk about this, right?

Emily: Yeah.

Nikolas: Yeah.

Emily: Do you want to take a walk in the garden?

Nikolas: Yeah, yeah, I'd love to, but I need to make some calls about all this legal mess, ok?

Emily: Ok. And try not to worry, ok?

Nikolas: Ok.

Emily: Everything going to work out.

Nikolas: Ok.

Doorman: You know, you can buy one of those on any corner.

Carly: Sorry. Here you go. So, is there any chance that you could just look the other way while I run up to see Mr. Durant?

Doorman: Not likely.

Carly: No? I mean, even if you were just bending over to pick up a $100 bill?

Doorman: You know, another man might take you up on that.

Carly: What, you telling me you can't be bought?

Doorman: Oh, I can be bought. Only I happen to know that Mr. Durant's not up there.

Carly: Well, thanks. Is there -- do you have any idea where he may be?

Doorman: Hmm. After a big win? He's having a bourbon and soda at his favorite saloon.

Carly: Oh, do -- could I know which bar that is?

Doorman: Paddy Macís, but you didn't hear it from me.

Carly: Oh, thank you. Thank you very much. You've been extremely helpful. Paddy Macís.

Sam: So, let me get this straight. You want to be trusted, but you can't trust anyone yourself?

Sonny: Look, this is not about me. It's about you and Jason deciding how much time I get to have with my own daughter!

Sam: You have other obligations. We were trying to be realistic, Sonny. Come on!

Sonny: Ok, listen to me. It's up to me to make sure that my daughter knows how much I love her. And I'm not going to let anybody take my place in her life.

Sam: We all want what's best --

[Door opens]

Sam: Hello.

Sonny: Can you give us a minute?

Sam: Yeah, I think we're about finished, huh?

Jason: I found Justus.

Sonny: Was Faith with him?

Jason: No.

Sonny: Did he tell you where you can find her?

Jason: He said he didn't know.

Sonny: You have him followed?

Jason: No.

Sonny: Jason, come on. What's going on? How come you're not doing what I ask you to do?

Mary: Emily. Hi. Did Connor come with you?

Emily: I agree that you're insane, Mary, but you're not delusional. You know Connor is dead.

Mary: I know you're trying to keep him away from her.

Emily: From "her"?

Mary: Mary. She doesn't have a clue what's happening, poor thing. No, she'll go from here to an institution, spend a few months in minimum security, and then she'll be free.

Emily: "She"?

Mary: Yeah, you're pretty slow on the uptake, aren't you, princess? You kept him from her. You left her alone again. She couldn't do what was necessary to get him back. But I can.

Emily: You are Mary, and you killed two people.

Mary: Oh, well, it's your fault they're dead. You know that, right? You should've let him go when you had the chance. Now I have to go get him back so Mary can be happy.

Emily: You're going to prison, Mary.

Mary: Nobody's going to prosecute Mary for what I did. She'll be released after treatment.

Emily: And what happens then, huh? You spend the rest of your pathetic life chasing after Nikolas?

Mary: I come back here and I cut your heart out.

Justus: Faith? Faith, it's Justus.

Faith: Nikolas and Emily almost caught me.

Justus: They know you're here?

Faith: No. But my heart has been pounding ever since. Did you get the medicine?

Justus: Yeah -- antibiotics, bandages, fresh chicken soup.

Faith: Oh -- oh, thank goodness. I'm so glad you made it back. I've been out of my mind with worry about you.

Justus: I'm worried, too. Jason found me, Faith.

Faith: What?

Sonny: Faith hired someone to try to kill me. She went after my wife, my -- you just let her get away?

Jason: I didn't even have her, Sonny.

Sonny: Justus would've led you straight to Faith. You didn't even bother to have him followed. Why?

Jason: I was --

Sonny: Why?

Jan: I -- I was giving him a chance --

Sonny: Oh, so Faith could get out of town? What?

Jason: No, not for Faith to get out of town, so he wouldn't be there when I found Faith.

Sonny: You feel responsible for him, don't you?

Jason: Yes, I do feel responsible. I pushed him out of the monastery to defend you.

Sonny: I don't want to hear that! I want Faith killed! If Justus is with her, kill him, too!

Jason: I canít.

Carly: Excuse me. Hey. Do you have any idea when John Durantís going to be in?

Bartender: Should be pretty soon. But you can catch him up there right now. They've been running this thing all day.

John: No, no, no, no, no, I want to be very straight about this. The elimination of the Soho Drug Syndicate is not a victory for me. It's a victory for the city. But we can't stop now. It is up to all of us, every citizen, to fight this battle together. And I'll tell you something else -- we got to stop glamorizing the mob on TV and the media and movies and recognize them for the parasites that they are. And then we got to wipe them out like any other terrorist who threatens us. Now, people ask me, am I afraid of payback, retribution? Well, let me clear this up once and for all. It's the gangsters who better be afraid because I will not rest till every last one of them is behind bars. You can take that to the bank.

Emily: You make all the threats you want. You murdered two people, and you're going to go to jail for the rest of your life.

Mary: But Mary doesn't remember anything I did. She's actually innocent.

Emily: No one's going to buy it, Mary.

Mary: Oh, but they will. She'll be put away for a year, two, tops. When she's released, I'll come looking for you.

Emily: I hope you do. Because you'll be eliminated, Mary. No trial, no audience for your phony tears. You'll just be gone like that! I came here to warn you to stay away from me and Nikolas, but I can see that that can't happen! Whatever happens to you now, it's your own fault.

Mary: If Mary doesn't get a happy ending, Emily, I'll make sure you don't, either.

Elizabeth: Emily? Hey! Are you ok?

Emily: Yeah, no, I'm fine. I was -- I was just thinking about some errands that I have to run. How's it going?

Elizabeth: This nursing program is the best thing I've ever done. And I'm already working with the patients.

Emily: Oh.

Elizabeth: And you know what? I think I forgot their water. Could -- could you sit with the cart just for a minute?

Emily: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Elizabeth: I'll be right back.

Emily: No problem. Take your time.

Jax: What happened?

Courtney: An old island expression -- "Sometimes you bite the snake, sometimes the snake bites you."

Jax: Where did you hear that?

Courtney: I didnít. I just made it up.

Jax: Oh. If I got bitten by a snake, how come my head hurts badly?

Courtney: Well, because you jumped out of the chair, bumped your head, and blacked out. I called the doctor.

Jax: What was the prognosis?

Courtney: You were right, the snake wasn't poisonous. But you will be sore for a while. You should survive, ok?

Jax: Well, where were we?

Courtney: No, no, no, no.

Jax: Yeah --

Courtney: The doctor also said that you shouldn't exert yourself for a couple days.

Jax: Can we get a second opinion?

Courtney: Hmm, do you want mine? I told you that there was a snake, Jax, and you didn't listen, and now our little window of opportunity -- it's closed.

Jax: Now, don't be so sure about at.

Justus: I denied helping you, but Jason didn't believe me.

Faith: Do you think he followed you?

Justus: No, he didnít. I'm certain.

Faith: Don't you think that's just a tad naive?

Justus: He's giving me a chance, Faith, all right?

Faith: And why would he do that? Because he's a noble individual?

Justus: Jason and I are cousins. As much as we deny the bond, we both exist on the fringes of the Quartermaines. We know what it's like to be a part of something you despise.

Faith: Jason doesn't connect with anyone. He is Sonny's killing machine.

Justus: Not this time, Faith. He's giving me a chance to get away, and I'm going to take advantage of it.

Faith: Yeah. What about that chance? You going to use it to get away from me while you can?

Justus: That's exactly what I'm going to do.

Sonny: I just gave you an order. I mean, I expect it to be followed.

Jason: You're right, Sonny. Faith has to die. All I did was give Justus a chance not to be there!

Sonny: And what if he is? What if he's decided he cannot live without her, Jason?

Jason: Well, if that happens, then I'll deal with it.

Sonny: Yeah? How you going to deal with it? You going to do the job, or should I get somebody else to do it?

Jason: You know what? Justus helped you when you needed it the most. He got you acquitted for attempted murder.

Sonny: You think I've forgotten that? But I've given him every opportunity to stay clear of her, and he doesn't even listen! He's backed me into a corner!

Jason: Ok! I'll do it, ok?

Sonny: All of it?

Jason: If it's necessary.

Sonny: Ok. I mean, because, you know, someone betrays us, even if it's one of our own; they have to pay for the consequences. And if somebody tries to stop it, then they got to be taken care of. Any questions?

Jason: No.

Sonny: Good. Ahem.

Jason: You shouldn't have listened to that.

Sam: Well, I'm glad I did.

Man: There he is! That's some great work, John!

John: Well, thank you, fellows.

Man: We've been after that group for a while.

John: Well, you would've gotten him, too. I just happened to beat you to it, huh?

Man: Anytime. Congratulations.

John: All right -- hey, Charlie, big day! Round of drinks for all my buddies.

Man: Hey, there we go!

John: Hey.

Carly: Hey.

Man: All right. Fill her all the way up.

Carly: Go ahead.

John: Gentlemen --

Charlie: From Mr. D.

John: To the beginning of the end, huh?

Man: Bottoms up!

John: All right.

Man: All right.

Carly: No!

Man: Hey, hey, hey!

[Carly screams]

Man: You all right?

John: Yeah. Yeah, thanks to this lady. Charlie, call the cops. Get him out of here! I'll be right there.

John: I guess I owe you a thanks.

Charlie: Here, sir.

Carly: Um -- I'm Carly Richards.

John: John Durant. You make it a habit of saving federal prosecutors from getting gunned down?

Carly: I -- I saw the gun. I -- I just -- I jumped the guy. I didn't really have time to think.

John: I'm thankful for your quick reflexes and nonexistent sense of caution.

Carly: Well, I'm glad you can be so light about all this.

John: Yeah, don't be fooled, because I'm shaking like a leaf.

Carly: Well, you wear it well.

John: I don't think I've seen you inside Paddy Macís before. What brings you in?

Carly: You. Listen, I heard you came in here and I really wanted to meet you.

John: Yeah? Why's that?

Carly: I'm a lawyer -- well, I'm a law student, actually, and I want to write a paper about you.

Charlie: Her and everybody else, huh, Mr. D?

John: All right. You have 15 minutes.

Carly: Ok, well -- um -- I know there's been a lot written about your career, but I really wanted to go behind all of that. I want to find out about the man.

John: You're going to need a bigger notepad than that.

Justus: It's not going to take Jason long to realize I'm still helping you. Once he does, he's going to have me followed. We can use that, Faith.

Faith: How?

Justus: I've already got some supplies ready and waiting in the boat. I want you to take it down the lake, get on a bus, and go straight to Miami.

Faith: What about you?

Justus: I'm going to lead Sonny's people in the opposite direction.

Faith: No. You'll not sacrifice yourself for me.

Justus: It's our only chance, Faith. We have to take advantage of this right now.

Faith: If we cannot get away together, I want you out of this. I will face Sonny alone.

Justus: And, what, let him murder you in cold blood? That's not going to happen!

Faith: I knew the risks going in, ok? I have -- I have pushed the guy once too often. Six months ago, if -- I would not have cared if I died. But now, I'm going to miss you.

Justus: You're not going to die, Faith, all right? You're going to get on that boat; you're going to go to the Keys, all right? I'm going to get away from Sonny, and somehow we will find each other, ok?

Faith: That's wishful thinking, Justus.

Justus: Sonny owes me.

Faith: You're not really buying into this man-of-honor crap, are you? How do you think he survived so long? He eliminates anyone who double-crosses him, whether he owes them or not.

Justus: It is my choice to help you. If I die in the process, at least I know I died for a noble cause.

Faith: Ok. I'll go.

Justus: Good.

Faith: But if this is really our last moments together, we should make them count.

Sam: You know, I've never seen Sonny so cold, but it's better -- it's better that I know how vicious he can be.

Jason: Sam, it's business. It's got nothing to do with you.

Sam: I live with you, Jason. You're the one taking all the risk right now.

Jason: It's my job! It's hard for some people to understand.

Sam: So that's it? It's your job? No -- no options? No right to refuse the work if you think it's too dangerous, or if your conscience tells you it's wrong?

Jason: You know what, Sam? I really -- I want to help you. I want to help you, ok? But if you can't handle my job, maybe it's good that we figure this out now. I'll give you some cash; we'll find you a place to live --

Sam: Whoa, whoa, no, no, no, hold on! What, are you throwing me out now?

Jason: I'm just saying that my life is not going to change. It's dangerous, and I understand if you and your daughter don't want to be around it.

Sam: I listened in on your conversation with Sonny because I knew he was mad at you and I didn't want anything to happen. I wanted to make sure of that. But I would never judge you, Jason, or tell you how to live. After everything you've done for me, I'm going to accept you exactly the way you are.

Jax: You know, a snake bite on the bum can be a fantastic opportunity. Instead of doing things the old-fashioned way, we can get creative.

Courtney: Um -- yeah, that's really sweet and tempting, Jax, but -- ahem -- there'll be other times, and it'll be so much better if we just wait.

Jax: What, better than this? Come on. Hmm? Or this? You know, there are so many things that I want to show you. But most of all, I want you to realize what we can have together.

Courtney: Uh-huh. I'm pretty clear on that.

Jax: Now, I'm not talking about making love. I'm sure we'll be great at that. I'm positive.

Courtney: You know -- ahem -- it's actually -- it's pretty amazing. Since I've been hanging out with you, I am a much different person.

Jax: Really? Why don't you tell me about it?

Courtney: Well, you know, I've learned how to take charge of a situation instead of letting it control me.

Jax: Well, that's great.

Courtney: And I am a lot more ruthless; willing to do whatever it takes to get what I want.

Jax: Well, that's excellent. I mean, that'll come in real handy in the future.

Courtney: Actually, you know, it already has. Hmm.

Jax: Hmm, come here.

Courtney: Hmm. Goodbye, Jax.

Jax: What are you talking about?

Courtney: Ahem, you know, a couple of hours ago, I was -- I was ready to give in to you. But now that my head's cleared, I'm going to keep my distance until I win the bet.

Jax: Well, that's going to be pretty difficult because there's not a lot of places to hide and it's a small island.

Courtney: Oh, I know. And that's why I'm getting off of it.

Jax: Ha! I'm not going to let you do that.

Courtney: Hmm, really?

Jax: Yep. What -- what is this? What have you done? What is --?

Courtney: What? I'm giving myself a head start. I'll see you after the deadline.

Jax: Oh, great.

 [Monitor beeps]

[Monitor beeps]

Mary: Oh. It's you. I thought Connor was --

Lucky: Don't, donít. Don't bother, Mary. I know it's an act.

Mary: Why doesn't anybody believe me?

Lucky: Oh, my God.

Mary: My husband -- he's missing, and all I want to do is find him.

Lucky: Oh, God, Mary, playing crazy is not as easy as you think, and one day you are going to slip up, and I'm going to be right there to nail you.

Mary: Why? Why are you being so cruel?

Lucky: Oh, God, you know what? Fine, I'll wait, but I'm not going away! Because sooner or later I'll see you in prison.

Lucky: Hey, I need a doctor in here now!

Nikolas: Hey -- why did you leave without telling me?

Emily: Um -- because I've been neglecting my studies, and, you know, I figured --

Nikolas: Emily, come on.

Emily: You were busy, so I came in --

Nikolas: Come.

Emily: To do some work. Ok. You know me so well. I wanted to warn Mary to stay away from us.

Nikolas: Well, how did she take it?

Nurse: Cold Blue, Room 2-A, I.C.U.!

Emily: Wait a minute, that's Maryís room!

Sam: You know, for two guys who work so closely together, you and Sonny are nothing alike.

Jason: No reason we should be.

Sam: Yeah, I know. I guess it's the way you're different that impresses me. Sonny thinks he owns people, and you encourage them to be themselves.

Jason: It's easier.

Sam: On everyone. Jason, thank you. Thank you for everything that you have done for me, and I just want you to know that I've never felt so protected in my life.

Jason: That's good.

Sam: I know you care about this baby, but I also know you care about me. As her mother, ok? Don't get all --

Jason: Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Faith: No matter how close I am, you always keep a part of yourself to yourself.

Justus: You know how attorneys are. They're supposed to be inscrutable.

Faith: And charming. But I can see through it. Something haunts you. After tonight, after you help me get away, I may never know what it is.

Carly: Were you -- were you always on the side of the law, or were you, like, a wild kid who finally saw the light?

John: Wild? No, I was never wild. Curious. Tried everything -- twice.

Carly: "Everything"? That covers a lot of ground. Uh -- traveling -- traveling. A guy like you, you've probably seen a lot of places, right?

John: I was an army brat, so I traveled a lot as a kid.

Carly: Really? So, any place that you liked the best?

John: I'm a beach guy. Florida's kind of special.

Carly: So, what about family? You have a wife? You got kids?

John: You haven't done your homework, have you?

Carly: Well, you never ask a question if you don't know the answer.

John: Teach you that in law school?

Carly: What about love? When did you first fall? Was it early or later on in life?

John: Where'd you say you were going to school?

Carly: Why? Does it matter?

John: Why don't you just tell me who you really are, what you want?

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Jason: I've got to check on some things, ok?

Sam: Why do you keep running away from me?

Lucky: She stopped breathing.

Doctor: She's in V-Tach. We're going to have to shock her.

Sonny: Only one of you has to die tonight. I'm going to let you do the honors.

John: I figured out who you are.

Carly: You have?
