Luke: If you think the cop's still alive, who the hell killed him?

Ric: You know, talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity.

Luke: Guilty as charged. What can I do for you, counselor?

Ric: Well, I need to ask you a few questions about the disappearance of Detective Ross Duncan.

Skye: Ugh. Ew. Ugh. Let me just -- oh.

Skye: Who's there?

Sonny: Listen, Michael, forget what your mother and I told you before. I swear to you before God, I swear to you on my life that if you come back to us, I will figure out a way to make things work with your mama and we can be a family again.

Michael: Daddy?

Sonny: Buddy? Hey, buddy. I'm right here, ok? Don't go back to sleep. Come here.

Carly: Michael, sweetheart? Hey.

Sonny: He woke up. He looked -- he looked right at me.

Carly: Sweetie?

Ric: Detective Duncan was last seen here on the Haunted Star the evening of April 12.

Luke: Well, I heard this from one of your boys in blue, and all I can do is tell you what I told him -- I don't know the guy.

Ric: Ok, this is the problem that we have. Somebody apparently has been sending false emails to the department through Ross' P.D.A.

Luke: I can't help you, Lansing. Why don't you do your job and I'll do mine?

Ric: All right, Iím going to need to question your partner, as well.

Luke: Well, you're in luck. Here's one of them now.

Faith: Well, if it isn't our illustrious district attorney. Are you here for business or pleasure tonight?

Ric: Well, perhaps a little of both. I might be able to add another crime to your rap sheet.

Faith: Oh, haven't you heard? I'm reformed.

Luke: Since when?

Ric: Faith, Iím looking for somebody that you might know -- Detective Ross Duncan?

Faith: Doesn't ring any bells.

Ric: Sure?

Faith: Well, he's cute but, you know, you men all blend together these days into one big hunk. I can't tell them apart, except for you, of course.

Luke: Of course.

Ric: Yeah, see, you were the last person seen with Detective Duncan right here at the casino that night.

Faith: So? Maybe he was looking for the men's room.

Ric: Mm-hmm. Well, that's too bad because, apparently, he may run afoul with the local criminal element, which means he may have been murdered, and in that case, you would be suspect number one and you would be a material witness.

Luke: Ok, now, just so your visit here isn't a complete waste, explain the difference between a material and an immaterial witness.

Ric: Ok, I'm going to need to see you both at the PCPD tomorrow morning -- Skye, as well. I've already questioned all the staff that was onboard that night. Bring a lawyer. I have a feeling you might need one.

[Faith sighs]

Luke: Ok, Goldilocks, spill. Did you whack the detective?

Faith: Uh, Ric said the guy was missing. He didn't say for sure Ross was dead.

Luke: Ross. Yeah, that's his name. So if you don't remember him, how do you know his name? Do you know where to find him?

Faith: Why should I keep track of some detective?

Luke: Cops have their uses, especially if they're on the take.

Faith: When did you get all paranoid?

Luke: The minute the doctor slapped me and I took my first breath. Lansing says somebody's using the pocket computer of the missing detective to send phony emails.

Faith: Yeah. Ok. So if this cop is on the take, why is it a big stretch to think that he cashed out and went into hiding?

Luke: Darling, if the cop was on the take, it's not going to take Lansing very long to figure it out. You took a terrible risk eliminating a cop. What did he do, ask for more money?

Faith: Look, if he's dead, I didn't kill him. But you seem pretty certain that he is, so maybe you took him out yourself.

Luke: If I did, why would I be asking you?

Faith: I don't know, but this is the last thing I need right now. You know, I am facing money-laundering charges. So somebody else is just going to have to look for PCPD's missing detective.

Skye: I know someone's there! Now, come on out or I'm going to call security.

[Pipe rattles]

Skye: Ok.

Tracy: Gotcha.

Mary: Uh-uh. I can't.

Emily: I'm sorry for getting so upset. It was selfish.

Lucky: Hey. You know what -- you could never be selfish.

Emily: Then explain how Iím acting right now, Lucky. I mean, Michaelís in there, he's fighting for his life, and I'm out here feeling sorry for myself.

Lucky: You know what, Emily; you've been through hell the past few weeks. You're afraid for Michael and it's ok. It's all right if it gets to you.

Emily: He's such a sweet little guy and he's so sick right now.

Lucky: You know what? Michaelís going to get through this. I mean the kid's part Spencer, he's Quartermaine, and he's a Corinthos. If you ask me, that's pretty indestructible.

Emily: I hope you're right. You know, I think -- I think losing Nikolas has made it harder for me to trust that things will work out. You know it's like there's this giant fist around my heart and it's trying to squeeze the life out of me. It's like a constant dull ache. I'm not sleeping at night, but I can't get out of bed in the morning, either. And then, you know, I think that Nikolas wouldn't want me to quit. And so I get out of bed in the morning and I just try to face the day without him.

Courtney: Why, what happened to Michael?

Sonny: He looked right at me and he said, "Daddy."

[Monitor alarm]

Carly: Whoa. Hey, hey --

Sonny: We need a doctor! We need a doctor!

Carly: It's ok. What's going on?

Dr. OíDonnell: What do we got?

Carly: He just woke up.

Nurse: Blood pressure's dropped to 64/42.

Dr. OíDonnell: Step out in the hall, please.

Sonny: Come on, come on.

Carly: His blood pressure's dropping.

Jason: They're going to fix it. They got there in time.

Carly: I don't know, but what if the medicine's not working? What if he's bleeding inside and -- oh, my gosh, Sonny, maybe he woke up to say goodbye.

Sonny: Carly, he heard me. He's going to be ok. Our son's going to live.

Sam: "You have a positive result when you see two purple/pink-colored lines on the reference window."

Nikolas: Didn't realize you were so afraid of the water.

Mary: I'm sorry.

Nikolas: Don't be sorry, Mary, just tell me what's going on. Why are you so afraid to be with me?

Mary: I want to be with you.

Nikolas: Then what's stopping you? I --

Mary: You don't know me. Not really. Every time I think about being with you, I -- I just freeze up. And it's not fair, but I have all these expectations of the way we were before.

Nikolas: Before? But you said we share this amazing past, that -- that we've been in love since you were 15. I --

Mary: And you don't remember any of it. In a way, it's like it's the first time for both of us, and I know it's ridiculous, but Iím shy. I feel awkward. I keep thinking I'm going to disappoint you.

Nikolas: Are you afraid I don't love you?

Emily: They've got Michael on clotting medication and we're waiting to see if it works.

Courtney: I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but you and Lucky just looked so upset, so --

Emily: No, I -- I had a bad moment and Lucky let me lean on him.

Lucky: Yeah. Unfortunately, they're not letting anyone see Michael right now.

Courtney: Ok. Well, then I guess all we can do is wait, just keep believing in Michael.

Lucky: Listen, I need to head back to the station, so you call me if there's any news.

Emily: Of course.

Lucky: See you.

Courtney: You know, I was really hoping I could slip in and see Michael.

Emily: They'll probably make an exception for you. I don't want to crowd the I.C.U., but you're Sonny's sister.

Courtney: Yeah. Sonny doesn't want me there.

Emily: Of course he does.

Courtney: No. Um, Emily, I -- I broke the rules. Sonny told me he doesn't want me anywhere near his family.

Emily: Look, whatever Sonny says right now is just stress and worry.

Courtney: There's no reasoning with my brother, Emily. I mean, I did something he didn't approve of and now Iím nothing to him.

Emily: You're his sister, Courtney. If you want proof, ask Michael. I mean, his answer will be simple and true. You're his aunt. No matter how mad Sonny gets, he can't change the way those boys feel about you. You'll be Michaelís family for the rest of his life.

Courtney: God, I love that little kid so much.

Emily: Me, too. And until we know he's in the clear, we can hope together.

[Monitor beeps]

Sonny: What happened, doc?

Carly: Is he ok?

Dr. OíDonnell: Michael's in stable condition.

Carly: Oh, thank God.

Sonny: His blood pressure went back to normal?

Dr. OíDonnell: Yeah, I've never seen anything like it. Michael's blood pressure plummeted so rapidly, I wasn't sure if we could bring it back up, and then for no reason I can see, Michaelís body regulated itself.

Jason: Is he out of danger?

Dr. OíDonnell: Michael is stabilized. I can't make any guarantees, but I'm very optimistic about his recovery.

Carly: Ok, can we -- can we go in?

Dr. OíDonnell: Of course. He may be asleep for some time, though. He's been through a lot and his body needs time to recover.

Carly: Ok. Thank you.

Sonny: Thank you, doctor. Let's go.

Mary: You've been wonderful; kind and gentle and, most of all, patient.

Nikolas: No. No, that would be you. I'm sorry. Go ahead.

Mary: The truth is I feel guilty because Iím the reason you're in this situation, and I'm at least partly responsible for the fact you can't remember.

Nikolas: Did -- did you hit me on the head?

Mary: No.

Nikolas: No, no. Then it's not your fault.

Mary: But I asked you to desert.

Nikolas: And I chose to do it, Mary. You can't blame yourself for my -- for my actions and their consequences.

Mary: Ok, maybe you're right, but I can't change what I feel inside.

Nikolas: No. No, there's something else, something -- something you're not saying. What is it?

Mary: No.

Nikolas: Mary, what -- you can tell me the truth. Was I -- was I abusive before? Did I -- did I do anything like that?

Mary: Never. No.

Nikolas: And I'm not just talking about physical abuse, ok? Maybe I had an affair. Maybe I betrayed you in some other way.

Mary: You never loved anybody else but me, and you were the strongest and kindest and most sensitive man Iíve ever known.

Nikolas: Then what is this about? I'm your husband. You're supposed to be my best friend. If you can't talk to me, then who can you talk to?

Mary: I want to be with you. I wanted to be with you since the very first night that you -- that you came back to me, but every time we get close, this little voice goes off in my head, and it says, "This won't last. You're going to lose him again."

Nikolas: Mary? Mary? This is my home. Where would I go?

Emily: Lucky thinks Michaelís indestructible. He's a genetic mix of Spencer-Quartermaine, and he was raised as a Corinthos on top of it.

Courtney: Well, Luckyís got a point. You know, when I first started hanging out with Michael, I think he must have cheated death at least five times an hour. I mean, he would fly up and down the stairs; he would jump across a glass coffee table, whiz in and out of crowds on his rollerblades.

Emily: Sounds like his aunt. Aren't you the original danger girl?

Courtney: Nah. Not where Michaelís concerned. I mean, God, I would follow him around, you know, check up on him, make sure he was ok. He'd even laugh at me.

Emily: Oh, God, little brat.

Courtney: Yeah. And then afterwards he would tear off again, and I'd look at Carly and think, "How can you not be freaking out every single second?" Well, I guess it comes with being a parent, right?

Emily: You know, Michaelís strong, Courtney. He'll fight to survive.

Courtney: Yeah.

Emily: And the doctors are really good here.

Courtney: Mm-hmm. Besides, what doctor's going to let Sonny Corinthos' son suffer?

Emily: The whole staff's probably terrified.

Courtney: Yeah. Maybe just this once that's a good thing.

Emily: Hey. Do you have any news?

Jason: Michael's back. He's going to be fine.

Emily: Oh, my God. Thank God.

Jason: Oh.

Carly: Michael has been the best and most constant thing in my life. I love you, Michael, so much more than I ever thought was possible.

Sonny: I love you, too, buddy. We're so proud of you. You never gave up. You found your way back to us. I can't wait till you open your eyes and wake up.

Michael: Mommy? Daddy?

Carly: Hey, sweetheart. We're right here.

Sonny: Everything's ok, buddy.

Michael: Am I dreaming?

Carly: You were pretty sick and your body just needed to rest.

Sonny: You were asleep for a long time, buddy, but you're a lot better now.

Carly: How you feeling, sweetie?

Michael: Happy.

Carly: So are we.

Michael: I like having you guys here, like a family.

Sonny: Well, we -- we are a family.

Carly: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: And, you know, you look like you need to go back to sleep, buddy. You got to get some rest, ok?

Carly: Yeah, your body, it's not done healing, so you know what that means? It means lots of dream time.

Michael: But if I fall asleep, you'll go back to fighting.

Sonny: No, no. Hey, we're through fighting. When you wake up, you're going to see us right here. I promise.

Michael: Thanks, Daddy.

Carly: Ok, sweetie, why don't we say your prayers, then you can fall right back to sleep. Yeah?

Michael: "Now I lay me --"

Carly and Michael: "Down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep."

Carly: "Guard my slumbers through the night, and wake me in the morning light." Sweet dreams.

Jason: The doctor said there was no medical reason for Michael to pull through, but he did.

Emily: God, Carly and Sonny must be so relieved.

Jason: They're with him right now. I just want to thank you for sticking this out with me.

Emily: Hey, where else would I be?

Courtney: I'd like to see Michael -- I mean, just long enough to see that he's ok.

Emily: People have tried to keep me away from you for years, Jase, and I never let them. Don't stand in Courtneyís way.

Courtney: Look, I'll just -- I'll just go up to the window and knock and blow him a kiss, and then Iíll leave.

Jason: Courtney, I just -- I don't -- I don't think it's a good idea. I mean, Sonny's with him right now. Maybe you could just come back later?

Mary: Nothing's certain in this world, Connor. When the war broke out, I realized no matter how much I love you; I can't be sure you won't die or leave.

Nikolas: Mary, Everyone worries about losing people they love. Everyone does.

Mary: No, you still haven't remembered us. And part of me just knows that as soon as your past comes back, I'll lose my husband for good.

Nikolas: That -- see, that doesn't make any, any sense to me. We'll be stronger if I remember, don't you --

Mary: One day -- one day in the future. It could be next week, it could be in a month, 10 years from now, you'll remember who you were. And you'll remember the promises that I forced you to break, your commitment to another life.

Nikolas: You're talking about me being a soldier?

Mary: No. No, I'm talking about my own fears. I mean, part of the reason why Iím not sleeping with you is to protect myself -- and I know it sounds insane, but it's real to me. And one day you're going to understand. All the pieces -- no, listen. All of the pieces are going to fall into place and you're going to finally understand what I meant.

Nikolas: No, I -- I understand. I think I understand, ok? I made an oath to fight for my country. I don't remember why it's so important to me or even wanting to do it, but I obviously took it seriously. Right?

Mary: I forced you to break your word.

Nikolas: You're afraid -- you're afraid that Iíll feel obligated to turn myself in if I remember, right? But, see, what you're not considering, Mary, is that you are my wife. You are my wife. I made an oath to you, too.

Mary: You would give up everything else for me?

Nikolas: Yes. Yes. I mean, nothing can really take me away from you. Even if I do turn myself in, even if I do, I'll serve my time and just trust that you'll wait for me.

Mary: I'd wait forever. I would. But that won't help it. One day, my husband is going to disappear from my life forever, and I don't know any better way to explain it than that.

Nikolas: Then look in my eyes -- look in my eyes -- and believe in me. I will never leave you again.

Faith: Ric suspects Ross is dead, but he obviously doesn't have a body yet.

Luke: Well, it's tough but not impossible to prove murder without a body.

Faith: And Ric Lansing is highly motivated. He won't let a little thing like lack of a corpse stop him from sending me up the river.

Luke: Without a canoe.

[Faith chuckles]

Faith: If this guy Ross is dead, I need to figure out who killed him before Ric uses this opportunity to railroad me for it.

Luke: You know, somehow I don't see you as Faith Rosco, girl detective.

Faith: Oh, see, Iím not. Fortunately, I have this fabulous business partner with all the slick, crime-solving savvy I need to get me out of this mess. Now, I just need you to help me figure out who did what so I don't fry for this.

Luke: And what's in it for me?

Faith: Oh, money, baby -- tons and tons of money.

Skye: Faith, get lost.

Faith: Oh, don't worry, honey. I'm sheathing my claws tonight. Bye, Luke.

Skye: Did she confess?

Luke: Bad news, Blaze -- Faith didn't kill Detective Doughnut.

Skye: What? Are you sure?

Luke: Absolutely. Absolutely.

Skye: Oh, my God, that means it's back to me as being the killer.

Tracy: Hiya. I think you need a brighter shade of blush. You look as pale as a corpse.

Luke: Personally, I like a woman with a pale glow.

Tracy: Yes, well, the haunted type suits you.

Skye: Why are you here, Tracy?

Tracy: I'm concerned about your health. You seem jumpy -- your mental health and your physical health.

Luke: Why do you care?

Tracy: I have an investment in Skye. She's helping me protect my position at E.L.Q.

Luke: Tracy, if you're here to spend money, feel free to spend it. Otherwise, you know where the door is.

Tracy: Are you asking me to leave?

Luke: I think I just did.

Tracy: I think you should reconsider. In the light of recent events, I think you should defer to my every whim. On second thought, get some rest. You're going to need it to jump through my hoops.

Luke: Is it just me or is she more smug than usual?

Skye: Oh, she knows something, Iím sure of it.

Tracy: I'd like you to meet me at the Haunted Star. I have some information that Iím dying to give you.

Nikolas: All right, you can come out now.

Mary: You made dinner.

Nikolas: Come on, you had to know you couldn't stall me forever.

Mary: You didn't have to go to any trouble.

Nikolas: Just -- just think of it as me being selfish, ok? Sit down. I wanted to see you smile again, and now you are.

Mary: Thank you.

Nikolas: You're welcome.

Mary: You know, come to think of it, Iím -- I'm starving.

Nikolas: Yeah?

Mary: I can't wait to see what you put together.

Nikolas: Uh-uh -- it's an ancient delicacy, ok?

Mary: Don't keep me in suspense.

Nikolas: Ok. On three, ok?

Mary: Ok.

Nikolas: Ready? One, two, three.

[Mary laughs]

Nikolas: What do you think?

Mary: PB&J!

Nikolas: I don't even know if I like it, but I couldn't remember how to make anything else.

Mary: I love it. And I love you.

Nikolas: Ahem.

Audrey: Right. Ok. Oh, hello, Emily!

Emily: Hey, Audrey!

Audrey: That was Elizabeth. She's so happy to hear that Michael is doing better and, of course, she sends her love.

Emily: Aw. Is she ok?

Audrey: Well, she's a little sad, but at least she's resting, and I'm going to Napa for the delivery.

Emily: Oh. I wish I could go along.

Audrey: You have school, and Elizabeth does understand, dear. So, are these for Michael, the balloons?

Emily: Yes. Can he have them in the I.C.U.?

Audrey: Well, I don't see why not.

Emily: Good. Thank you, Audrey.

Audrey: All right. Bye-bye.

Emily: Hi.

Courtney: Hi. Emily, that's so great. Michael loves balloons.

Emily: Well, I was hoping that you could deliver them for me. I have to call my mom and give her an update on her grandson.

Courtney: Thank you.

Emily: You're his family. Go act like it.

Sonny: Can I talk to you out there?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: He's doing good, huh?

Carly: Yeah, he is. It's a miracle. What'd you want to talk about?

Sonny: Uh, ahem. As you know, you know, my whole life, Iíve -- Iíve had faith in God, and --

[Sonny sighs]

Sonny: Even, you know, when I thought that he failed me or when I defied him, I still believed. And times would get bad and sometimes I would bargain with him, you know. I'd ask him to take care of the people I love.

Carly: That's ok, Sonny. We all ask God for favors. It seems to be how we pray.

Sonny: Yeah, but the -- the doctors don't have an explanation for why Michael lived.

Carly: So, the medicine worked or --

Sonny: No, no, no, no. God answered my prayers. Now, I got to hold up my end of the bargain. I got to keep my promise.

Carly: Ok, so what did you promise him, Sonny?

Courtney: I, uh -- I heard that Michael was doing better. I -- I could come back.

Carly: No, no, no. Hey, no, no, Courtney, wait, wait.

Sonny: Actually, it's a good time. I got -- there's something I got to take care of.

Courtney: I'm sorry to interrupt.

Carly: Uh-uh, no, I am so --

Courtney: Hey.

Carly: I'm so glad to see you right now.

Courtney: Oh, I'm so glad that Michaelís going to be ok. Oh, these are from Emily. Audrey said it was safe for him to have them in here.

Carly: Oh, he's going to love them.

Courtney: Yeah.

Carly: Courtney, have you been waiting in the lounge the whole time?

Courtney: Off and on. Look, I wanted to be here to support you but, you know, with everything that's going on --

Carly: You wanted to avoid Sonny.

Courtney: Yeah.

Carly: Yeah, I don't blame you. A fight would've made everything worse.

Courtney: Well, the important thing is, is that Michael pulled through.

Carly: Yeah. I can't tell you how hard it was for me to watch him go through that.

Courtney: Hey, you're a great mom, Carly.

Carly: Half the time I think Michaelís taking care of me, though. I'm the parent, Courtney. I need to put Michael first, and Morgan. You know, it's my job to make sure they're safe and they're happy and they feel secure and that I can give them the best life possible. That's really -- I don't know, that's all that matters now, and I want to do everything I can to make sure they have a good life.

Jason: Is Michael still asleep?

Sonny: He's doing great. I need you to do something for me.

Jason: Yeah, sure.

Sonny: Find Sam; bring her to the penthouse. Let her know that she's not in any kind of danger. Make sure she understands that.

Jason: Ok.

Sonny: The reason I can't go is because I got to stay with Michael. Let her know Iím not angry.

Jason: Ok, I understand.

Sonny: You can't take no for an answer because what I have to say can't wait. I need to talk to her tonight.

Nikolas: Are you sure?

Mary: Yes.

Nikolas: Yeah?

Mary: I want to be with you, Connor.

[Knock on door]

Emily: Mary? It's Emily.

Skye: Oh, this is bad.

Luke: There are times when that woman sends shivers down my spine.

Skye: Your spine? I'm the one she's going to accuse of murder.

Luke: Well, not necessarily. Let's don't jump to conclusions. There may be some evidence we haven't uncovered yet. Let's go back to the night Detective Doughnut died.

Skye: Luke, I've already told you everything that I can remember.

Luke: Well, it couldn't hurt us to -- I've got those receipts in the car. I think we can bring them in later and -- no, it can't hurt us to go over it again. So you picked him up at Kellyís.

Skye: That's right.

Luke: Did anyone see you leave with him?

Tracy: Oh! I am so delighted you could join me.

Jax: It was on my way.

Tracy: Let's get you a drink.

Jax: You know, whatever offer you're about to make Iím going to decline. I'm not interested in being partners with you on any level.

Tracy: Hmm. Well, I beg to differ, because I'm about to make you an offer that you simply can't refuse. Drink?

[Knock on door]

Jason: Sam?

Sam: Ahem. What do you want?

Jason: Sonny needs to see you.

Sonny: He still asleep?

Carly: Actually, I think he might be waking up.

Michael: Cool balloons.

Carly: Yeah, they're from Emily. Your Aunt Courtney brought them in and she gave you a big kiss while you were sleeping.

Michael: You guys aren't fighting.

Sonny: What did I tell you before you went to sleep?

Michael: You promised.

Sonny: That's right, and here we are. We're not going to let you down, buddy. Things are going to be different now.

Carly: Oh, he's got to be exhausted. What?

Sonny: Let's -- I got to talk to you outside. Let's go in the hall.

Carly: Is this about the promise that you made to God?

Sonny: Yeah. Um -- I promised if he let our son live that I would make sure that Michael had his family again. I want you and the boys to come home so we can live together.

Carly: No.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Lucky: I'm following up on the disappearance of Detective Ross Duncan. I need to ask a few questions.

Emily: Nikolas is close to me. It's something physical.

Sam: I'm not gonna wait around to get kicked to the curb.

Sonny:  I am not giving up until Michael gets the family he needs.
