Mary: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I hate to do this to you again, but we have to stop.

Nikolas: What's wrong?

Mary: I can't make love to a stranger.

Courtney: Hey, Carly, it's Courtney. Look, I had to change, but I'm on my way over to check on Alcazar, so you can take your time getting the kids settled with Sonny. Bye. Oh -- hey.

Jason: Where are you going?

Courtney: I was actually -- I was coming to see you.

Carly: Your daddy -- he loves you very much, and you and Morgan will always have a home here.

Michael: What about you?

Carly: Well -- you know what? Your daddy and I -- we are connected in a very special way.

Michael: Do you still love Daddy?

Carly: I'll always love him.

Michael: Hi, Daddy.

[Morgan cries]

Carly: It's ok. Michael, I need you to go upstairs, honey.

Michael: Why do I always have to go upstairs?

Carly: Just --

Sonny: Michael -- Michael, go -- go upstairs now. Max? Max? Come here. Do me a favor. Take the kids upstairs, ok?

Max: Yeah, no problem.

Carly: Thank you, Max.

Max: You got it. Hey, little buddy.

Carly: Go with Max. It's ok.

Max: Come on, Michael, let's go.

Carly: Ok, now it's your turn to get out.

Sam: Ahem. You don't live here anymore, Carly. I do.

Luke: Look, if you're mad at me, why don't you just bust that bottle right across --

Skye: I'm not mad at you.

Luke: You just said you were.

Skye: What I said was I don't give a damn about you, ok? So get over yourself, please. You're not the only snake in the grass.

Luke: Ah. Now we're getting somewhere. Would this snake that we're talking about have a name that starts with Q?

Skye: Warm.

Luke: The fire-breathing, money-grubbing daughter, perhaps?

Skye: Cold.

Luke: The would-be heir apparent provider?

Skye: Colder.

Luke: Well, it's not Lila, and the Doctors Quartermaine wouldn't stab you in the heart -- Monica might want to, but Alan wouldn't let her -- so that leaves old Papa Snake.

Skye: Burning.

Luke: What'd he do now?

Skye: Well, he proved you right, which makes it even more intolerable.

Luke: Is this about the will?

Skye: Oh, Luke, right again! You are truly amazing! Let me drink to you.

Luke: I think I'll drink to me, too. Give me a glass.

Skye: Oh.

Luke: Thanks.

Skye: The only reason Edward made me Quartermaine heir was so that I'd help keep him out of the loony bin where his miserable excuse for a daughter wanted to dump him. The minute that threat had passed, I was cut out of the will. God, I hate men.

Faith: About the investigation into my alleged money laundering --

Ross: Please don't worry. I'm choking your case with as much red tape and paperwork as I can find.

Faith: Hmm. Didn't take you long to learn how things work in this town.

Ross: Thank you.

Faith: For your excellent work so far. Don't spend it all in one place.

Skye: Why -- I don't know why I don't learn my lesson by now. I mean, really, I should know it by heart, you know? All men are pigs and liars. Every single one from young to the old, and every stinker in between. Well, I guess practice makes perfect because Edward is the biggest, stinkingest, bold-faced liar of them all.

Luke: Yeah, well, that's true. You know, he's been at it longer. He's perfected his game.

Skye: What, is he some kind of role model to you? Is this -- is he something that young men aspire to be? Well, you know what? I'm going to be a little generous and give you a tip here from the old master's book. Show no mercy when it comes to exploiting their fear and insecurity. Especially when -- when the target wears it on her sleeve. Mine happens to be this crazy desire I have to want to be wanted, to belong to people I care about and have them belong to me back. I guess -- I guess that's what you'd call a family, although you certainly wouldn't know what that is because you'd grab something you're just not into. You know, kind of like that straight-haired/curly-haired thing where you want what you don't have and hold in contempt what you do. I -- is that one bottle?

Luke: Yep, that's one bottle right there.

Skye: I suppose this is the part where you tell me to put it down and go home and sleep it off, huh?

Luke: No, I would never do that. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, there you go. There you go.

Skye: Ooh.

Emily: I want the service to be about celebrating Nikolas' life, rather than mourning his death.

Lucky: Any idea where you want to have it?

Emily: Not Wyndemere. I think that place must be cursed. No one can be happy there.

Lucky: You remember when Nikolas -- he -- he told me he wished that he could live a simple life on a tropical island?

Emily: Yeah.

[Lucky laughs]

Emily: You laughed in his face and you told him that he'd need two islands -- one for his simple life and one for the staff he'd fly out the next week, since there was no way that he'd be able to get along without them.

Lucky: You know, we used to tease each other like that. The prince and the commoner.

Emily: I'm so sorry, Lucky. I've been so consumed in my own sorrow over losing the man I love, and I need to remember that you lost your brother.

Nikolas: You're going to have to help me out here, Mary, because -- because I don't understand.

Mary: I know.

Nikolas: I -- yes, you are a stranger to me, but I am still your same husband.

Mary: Not really.

Nikolas: What, not -- what, because I lost my memory, I'm not --

Mary: No -- um -- yes, that's the obvious reason, but there's something else.

Nikolas: Tell me.

Mary: The man that I sent off to war was my first and my only, and that's not the man that I'm looking at right now. I was alone for a long time and I changed, too.

Nikolas: Ok, look, I'm sure that that's true. What are you saying exactly, huh? Tell me.

Mary: If I knew, I would say it better.

Nikolas: Well, tell me anyway. Try, ok? It's important.

Mary: There are a lot of things that -- that we don't know about each other.

Nikolas: And that -- that's so terrible?

Mary: If -- if those things are inside of us and they're working against us and we don't even know about it.

Nikolas: Ok -- ok, so we'll pay special attention to that. But I don't want some unspecified, you know, whatever, getting in the way of us having our lives back. I want to make love to you.

Mary: I want you, too, Connor, but -- but if it's not the same --

Nikolas: Then it'll be different. We can deal with that. I mean, there are other possibilities here. You know, I -- making love to you could -- could trigger my memory. Isn't that a chance worth taking?

Jason: Why didn't you just call instead of heading out into the storm?

Courtney: I -- I wanted to see you face to face.

Jason: Good, because I -- I wanted to see you, too. So you --

Courtney: You -- you first.

Jason: Ok. Um -- you know, after I left, I just -- I started thinking about Emily and Nikolas, and how, you know, one day they were together and the next they weren't. I just think we're missing a major chance.

Courtney: Not missing, throwing away.

Jason: And, look, I understand why the divorce makes sense. My life is risky, it's unpredictable, and I can't guarantee that I won't -- that I won't get killed, but I can do everything that I possibly can to keep safe. I realize that might not even be good enough, but I do know this. However much time I have -- if I die tomorrow or if I live to be 100 -- I want to spend every moment I can with you.

Courtney: That's all Iíve ever wanted.

Jason: Now, were you going to -- are you going to tell me what's wrong?

Carly: Sonny invited you to stay here so he could protect you. It does not give you carte blanche to camp out here for the rest of your life.

Sam: Well, this isn't really your business, Carly.

Carly: Oh, yeah. As long as my sons come to visit their father, you're damn straight it is my business. Now, you may look too much like Brenda for Sonny to have the heart to tell you when you're not wanted, but I certainly --

Sonny: Carly, I asked Sam to move in with me. What are you doing here? We didn't -- we didn't have a visit scheduled.

Carly: I'm not saying a word as long as she is standing in the room.

Sonny: She can -- anything you tell me, she can hear. It's not a big --

Sam: No -- Sonny, you know what? I will go back to -- to the casino, see if my luck is still holding, ok? I won't be long.

Carly: That skank is living here?

Sonny: We're not discussing Sam. I want to know what you're doing here. It's Alcazar, isn't it? What'd he do to you?

Carly: Sonny, it is not what Alcazar did to me. It's what I did to him.

Skye: Good choice -- letting me have this drink without a fight. I'd hate to waste good drinking time wrestling you to the floor.

Luke: Wait, is that an option?

Skye: You're not funny.

Luke: You know, a bullet would be quicker.

Skye: Do you have one? Hey! Hey, everybody! Anybody got a bullet to spare? Huh? Huh? Just kidding. I don't need a bullet. No, this, ladies and gentlemen, is the way to go. Feeling the warm glow in your gut as the vodka finds its way home, the way it blurs the edges and softens the mind. To the gods of 90 proof for inducing their blissful ignorance in the face of hateful vermin who'd otherwise rub your nose in their mean-spirited reality. Mmm. Down with the perpetrators of lies and despair -- otherwise known as men. Bottom-feeding subspecies who thrive on the abuse and deception of women! Well, take this one, for example. Doesn't he look all nice there with his arm, his girlfriend -- where's your wife, jackass? Remember her? I certainly do. I've see you in here with her enough. Hmm. Hmm -- who's this one? Joey. Joey the stud-muffin. Oh, I bet you ladies all think he's rich, but you know what? He's not! He's just some rich woman's boy toy, and if she knew he was out here strutting around putting it out for you, she'd kick him back to that escort service he came from. Bum!

Luke: Hey, Blaze, you might want to rethink this move.

Skye: Oh, you know what? Just -- don't -- I'm just getting to you! And don't call me "Blaze." You know what? I don't like it. I don't like it. It implies a closeness in a friendship that we don't share. You, Luke Spencer, are the worst of them all.

Luke: I'm not surprised you think so.

Skye: You lied to me; using me, making me think that Iíd actually fallen into a partnership where I was more than just an accessory. Well, shame on me. Shame on me for believing one word you ever said to me. For believing that your kisses were more than just a dramatic way to say goodbye. Oh, the rooftop of a burning building, a helicopter waiting. You couldn't have written a better script yourself because you actually like saying goodbye, don't you, Luke? Or is it not saying goodbye and then just disappearing all the same, huh? Is that it? Well, you know what? I'm pretty good at goodbyes myself, so thanks for nothing!

Luke: That was a really good floorshow.

Skye: Just leave me -- I don't need you. I don't even want you. I don't even like you. No. I don't need -- need anybody.

Faith: Ahem. Well, looks like your evening just opened up for me.

Lucky: Remember how long it took me and Nikolas to accept each other?

Emily: "Accept"? It took forever for you two to even tolerate each other.

Lucky: Yeah, it was a learned behavior. When I think back on it, I can't remember a time when I wasn't aware that the Cassadines and the Spencers were mortal enemies.

Emily: It was the same for Nikolas. To him, you and Luke were the family his mother abandoned him for.

Lucky: To me, Nikolas was a slap in the face. I mean, he just stepped in out of nowhere, saved my little sister's life when I couldnít.

Emily: You got over it, and you and Nikolas refused to carry on your families' ridiculous war into the next generation.

Lucky: Yeah, we always made my mom happy for a while. She said that Nikolas was the one good thing that came out of her time with the Cassadines.

Emily: Hmm.

Lucky: She'd say if you ever lose anything important, life finds a way to bring something back. Something good.

Emily: That's a nice philosophy, but what about losing Nikolas could ever be considered good for either one of us?

Jason: Now, will you please tell me what's wrong?

Courtney: I'm -- I'm just distracted. There's someplace else Iím supposed to be, that's all.

Jason: Courtney, I know you, and you've been hiding something all night. I mean, do you really want to get back together or are you just saying that so I won't question you?

Courtney: What? Come on, Jason, I wouldn't use our love that way. I love you, and I miss you. And I desperately want us to get back what we had.

Jason: Except?

Courtney: Oh, except I -- I promised Carly Iíd do her a favor. But I don't want to because it means I'd have to leave you right now. I don't ever want to have to do that again.

Carly: I found out Lorenzo was lying to me.

Sonny: What else is new?

Carly: Sonny, don't. This is hard enough, ok?

Sonny: No, what's hard is that you ever believed him at all.

Carly: Well, you know, you should be really happy because I ended it tonight.

Sonny: Good. It's about time.

Carly: Lorenzo loves me, but it's just -- it's not a love that I can live with.

Sonny: What happened?

Carly: I don't know, I mean, I guess -- I went to Lorenzo because of -- because of the brain injury, because of the dreams. And I stayed with him because he was really kind to me when you were really awful, and I don't know, maybe it was -- was gratitude, I guess --

Sonny: I don't want to hear about your feelings for Alcazar. I want to know about the lie that was so big that you took our kids and left. You found proof he blew up my limo, didn't you?

Carly: Sonny, I know you --

Sonny: Quit stalling, Carly. You defended Alcazar all along. All of a sudden, you stop; you bring the kids over here with no warning?

Carly: Look, don't make me sorry that I did, ok?

Sonny: I know what Alcazar's capable of, and it's about time you did, too. I just got evidence that links Alcazar to the guy who blew up my limo.

Carly: I already know.

Courtney: Jason -- Jason, wait -- ooh --

Jason: It's ok, I know. I know you got to go. I'll go with you, ok?

Courtney: No. Look, I -- ooh, I told Carly that I would -- I would help her with something that she wants to keep to herself right now, and I have to respect her wishes.

Jason: Yeah, ok. Is it, you know, the kind of thing where she called me 14 times, and then it turned out to be nothing? Or --

Courtney: Please, Jason. Come on, we've made amazing progress, and I don't want a promise I made to my best friend ruin it. Hey -- it's Carlyís business. Just leave it alone, ok? Look, I won't be long. Do you think that we could -- ahem -- we could meet someplace later?

Jason: Wherever you want.

Courtney: Ok. I'll call you.

Skye: No -- damn it!

Ross: Here, let me help you.

Skye: Ooh -- Iíve got it.

Ross: Ooh, you're icy.

Skye: Yeah. I must've left without my coat.

Ross: Here. Is that better?

Skye: Than what?

Ross: Why don't you tell me over a hot cup of coffee? I have a dry shoulder to offer.

Skye: I got a better idea. Why don't you and your dry shoulder come back to my place for a dry martini?

Ross: Yeah, that -- that's a better idea. Ok, but I do the driving.

Skye: Ok.

Faith: Ahem. We both know the Haunted Star is loaded with potential we haven't even started to tap into yet. And now that the Girl Scout who was holding us down is not an issue anymore, sky's the limit -- so to speak. We can really start making some money.

Luke: What do you have in mind?

Faith: Windfalls, two. Ok, first, we rig the tables, ok? And then we take the profits from that and reinvest in another casino in Atlantic City where we can really start making some money.

Luke: Didn't we already have this conversation? Faith, let me try to explain something to you. I like having you around here because, to me, you're an exotic convenience. But if you get any more inconvenient, I'm going to have to rethink exactly how exotic you are.

Sam: Thank you.

Ric: It's all right. This one's on me.

Sonny: Get the word out. I want Alcazar found tonight.

Max: I'm on it.

[Door opens and closes]

[Sonny sighs]

Carly: Sonny, Lorenzo never, ever intended for anyone to get hurt, ok? He just bombed your car to make you look bad so I could get full custody of the kids.

Sonny: You found this out tonight?

Carly: After you killed the bomber.

Sonny: How did this come out? What happened? What --

Carly: Look, I found a piece of paper --

Sonny: All right.

Carly: In Lorenzoís jacket pocket. It was bloodstained. It had a phone number on it, and I figured that he must've gotten it off the bomber. So I picked up the paper, I called the number, and it was one of Lorenzoís cell phones. I confronted him, and I confronted him into an admission.

Sonny: Where's Alcazar now? Where's Alcazar now, Carly?

Courtney: Lorenzo? Oh, my God! Lorenzo, it's Courtney! Can you hear me? Ok -- Lorenzo, wake up! Ok. Oh, God -- Lorenzo? Ok. Oh, God. Oh, God. Ok. Lorenzo, can you hear me? Jeez -- ok, ok. Hold on, hold on. This stupid thing -- oh, here. Oh. Ok. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Lucky: So have you thought about whether you want the service large or small?

Emily: I'm selfish when it comes to Nikolas. I'd rather keep it just us and Elizabeth.

Lucky: The four musketeers?

Emily: And I know he'd want it open to anyone who feels they should be there.

Lucky: Yeah, I think Nikolas would want the people he cared about who couldn't get along while he was alive just to find 10 minutes of peace together saying goodbye.

Nikolas: The rain's letting up a little bit, but lightning struck the power lines. We might be without electricity for a while.

Mary: What else is new? The power always goes out around here.

Nikolas: Yeah.

Mary: We'll be ok, though. We have plenty of candles, and batteries for the radio.

Nikolas: So were you the one who was always prepared, or was that me?

Mary: You always made sure I had what I needed.

Nikolas: Dance with me.

[Music plays]

Mary: Now?

Nikolas: No, tomorrow. Yes, now. Unless I wasn't a very good dancer, in which case, let's not do that.

Mary: No, you were never Fred Astaire, but Iím willing to give it a whirl if you are.

Nikolas: Oh. Beautiful and brave.

Singer: And no matter how I hope well, I'm still drowning completely in the memories we've made and I know I would give anything

Nikolas: So far so good.

Singer: For one more time

Mary: It's more than good. It's wonderful.

Singer: One more moment with one more day

Luke: So what I'm saying, little lady, is you're perfectly welcome to hang here as long as you pay your way, but the business deal that you and I have is going to be kept way in the background.

Faith: Are you sure that's what you really want?

Luke: Yeah, I'm sure. And my partner -- she's three sheets to the wind tonight, but when she dries out and she comes back, everything here is going to be exactly as she left it, including her partnership with me.

Faith: Hmm. Bad call, Luke. You're backing the wrong player.

Luke: Life's a gamble.

Ric: Seems that you and I got off on the wrong foot.

Sam: You were pretty hostile.

Ric: Well, it's a knee-jerk reaction, you know? My brother seems to have the market cornered on all of the beautiful women in this town. It gets kind of irritating.

Sam: Well, Sonny hasn't cornered the market on me yet. We're not exclusive.

Ric: Well, what are you, then?

Sam: Passing time.

Ric: Hmm -- till something better comes along.

Sam: Maybe.

Ric: So that would mean, what, a guy like me might have a chance with you?

Sam: Well, let's just say I find you much more attractive than Sonny.

Ric: Really? Then why don't you and I get out of here and we can explore the possibilities.

Sam: I thought Sonny might possibly be exaggerating, but you truly are enough of a slime to take me to bed just so you could put your filthy mark on something that belongs to Sonny. No wonder your pregnant wife walked out on you -- and by the way, I can see you're real torn up about it.

Ric: That's tough words from a whore.

Sam: Oh, what, did I strike a nerve? Look, so there's no misunderstanding, I wouldn't have sex with you if you were the last man on earth. Don't compete with Sonny. You will always end up the loser.

Ric: Yeah, well, I wouldn't be too smug if I were you, Ms. McCall. See, you're no better or different than any other woman that Sonny's taken to bed and then ruined. That is, before you show him the door or grave or the quickest way to a nervous breakdown. And just so there's no misunderstanding, the minute he thinks that there is a chance with him and Carly, you're going to be a memory.

Carly: Look, I told Lorenzo that I don't want to be with him ever again. He's got no reason to stay in Port Charles anymore.

[Phone rings]

Sonny: Yeah. What do you got? Uh-huh. Ok. Stay on it. One thing's for sure -- Alcazar's dropped out of sight, but there's a funny thing -- all his stuff is still in his apartment, and there's not one indication that he left Port Charles. Carly, Carly, you're still protecting this bastard? Come on! You know where he is. You're going to tell me.

Courtney: Ooh -- oh! Come on, Alcazar, don't die on me. Breathe! Breathe, damn it!

[Lorenzo coughs]

Courtney: Oh, thank God.

Emily: When I was in the hospital, I caught a glimpse of death. See, it was only scary because it was unfamiliar, and I guess it wasn't my time. But there was light, Lucky, and an indescribable sense of peace. I hope it's like that for Nikolas.

[Music ends]

Mary: Hmm. That was lovely.

Nikolas: Yeah. Beats the hell out of carving ducks. Maybe there's something to be said about starting from a clean slate.

Mary: I'm beginning to realize I don't have a choice. The life I used to live in this house is over.

Lucky: Nikolas is going to be in our hearts. Something about him just -- it'll trigger a memory, make us laugh or cry.

Emily: It's hard to believe that's all we have left of him.

Mary: All I have is now, and you. I can live with that.

Emily: Somehow I'll have to learn to live with it.

Lucky: We both do. You're not alone, Emily.

Nikolas: You'll never have to be alone again, ok? Unless Iím at work or something.

Mary: Hmm. Work?

Nikolas: I have to make a living somehow, don't I?

Mary: No. No, no, no reality talk. Not tonight. I just want to be close.

Nikolas: Sounds good to me.

Mary: I'll go heat up the chili and we can cuddle by the fire.

Nikolas: Ok. Ok.

[Music plays]

Singer: Can you hear me when I talk to you?

Lucky: What? What is it?

Emily: This song. It was in my dream when I was unconscious in the hospital, and not long after I heard it, Nikolas came and he pulled me back.

Singer: Can you hear me when I talk to you?

Emily: Maybe it's a sign that wherever he is, he's thinking of me.

Lucky: I'm sure of it.

Singer: Can you hear me when I talk to you? 'Cause Iíd give anything

Skye: You want?

Ross: No, thanks.

Skye: I -- uh -- don't normally invite strangers into my home, you know.

Ross: We can fix that. I'm Ross.

Skye: Skye. I know who you are. I saw you arresting Faith at the casino. I was rather impressed by your work ethic. Do you enjoy being a cop?

Ross: Detective. You see, there's a little difference -- we get to wear plain clothes.

Skye: So you work undercover?

Ross: At times.

Skye: So where's your weapon? Or is that undercover, too?

Ross: I've been known to pull it out on special occasions.

Skye: Well, then let's make it special.

Courtney: Look, Carly found out that Alcazar hired the bomber. They got in a fight, she tried to get him to leave town, but he refused, Jason. Carly freaked out and she handcuffed him to a pipe in the basement.

Jason: What did she think she was going to do?

Courtney: I don't know; convince him that -- that it wasn't going to work out, that she wasn't going to take him back, so he'd go. Carly knew that if -- if Alcazar didn't disappear, that you and Sonny would kill him. Look, Jason, when I got here, the basement was flooded and he was drowning. I didn't --

Jason: Ok, you can go. I'm going to take it from here.

Courtney: Jason, no.

Jason: You need to leave.

Courtney: No. What, what, so you can kill him? I am not going to let you throw your life away, Jason!

Jason: Courtney, you need to leave right now.  Go home and stay there!

[Door opens and closes]

Carly: Even if I knew where Lorenzo is, I'm not going to tell you where he is because you are out of control, just like you always are where he is concerned. You already put a bullet in his back that went through my head. Isn't that enough?

Sonny: No, it's not enough until Alcazar is dead, Carly! No -- you know what? You are not going anywhere. You're not looking for Alcazar. You understand what I'm saying?

[Phone rings]

Jason: Yeah.

Sonny: Listen, Alcazar admitted to Carly that he hired that assassin. She's got him someplace. She doesn't want to tell me. I need you to find him, and I need you to kill him.

Jason: It's done.

[Skye groans]

Skye: Luke? What are you doing here?

Luke: Looks like you had yourself quite a time.

Skye: Yeah. There was some other guy.

Luke: Well, he's still here. He ain't going anywhere.

[Skye gasps]

>> Todayís episode featured music by Ashley Gearing.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Georgie: I want to start over. I want us to make love tonight.

Tracy: I've got you exactly where I want you.

Jason: You did this to me? You knocked me out to save Alcazar?

Carly: I don't love him because I never did and I want you.
