Emily: We got here as soon as we could.
Nikolas: Did you speak to Sonny?
Nikolas: The plan was for you to have Sonny order Jason to implicate Capelli in Zanderís murder, right?
Emily: You haven't changed your mind?
Ric: Not about the plan, about the approach. I think it's better if we go through Jason directly. Look, Jason hates me. He wouldn't spit on me if I was lying dead in the street, which is why I need an intermediary or two.
Emily: You want us to go to him?
Ric: You two have a snowball's chance of persuading him, and we're going to have to. Elizabeth is still determined to confess to Zanderís murder if we don't pull this off.
Felicia: How's he doing?
Nurse: Commissioner Scorpioís showing remarkable improvement.
Nurse: His vital signs are much stronger than they were just last night.
Felicia: Thank you.
Nurse: You're welcome.
Jason: I've been waiting for you.
Carly: Yeah, well, what did I do now?
Jason: Actually, something -- something good. You had a chance to ruin Sonny yesterday and you didn't.
Carly: You have no idea how close I came. I was ready to testify against Sonny because of his emotional instability.
Jason: Why didn't you?
Carly: I just looked at him and I saw all the years of love, and I realized I couldn't hurt Sonny in that way.
Sam: I am really glad you could have breakfast with me.
Sonny: It'd be better if we were having it in bed.
Sam: Oh, yeah? Are you flirting with me?
Sonny: Uh, am I? No. Maybe a little bit, I don't know. Hey, listen, you know what? Once this custody hearing's over and things settle down, I'll be able to spend a little more time with you. I'm kind of looking forward to it.
Sam: So am I.
Sonny: Maybe, I don't know, I shouldn't be doing this right now, but I don't know.
Alexis: How fortuitous. I was just going to a process server to have him track you down, and now I can save the taxpayers their money. There, you're served. You're going to be testifying in a custody hearing.
Nikolas: If Jason agrees to lie for us, how will he explain what took him so long to come forward?
Ric: Well, it's certainly consistent with Jasonís past behavior with law enforcement. He flat-out refuses to cooperate. He can say the only reason that this time is different is because he doesn't want to see you convicted of a crime you didn't commit, all right? Jason has no allegiance to Capelli, no reason to keep his dirty little secret. This statement writes itself. All we have to do is get Jason to sign it and then were home free.
Emily: Uh-uh. I want to protect Elizabeth, but I am not comfortable asking my brother to commit perjury.
Ric: Look, we all agreed to this. Now, none of us wants to see Elizabeth go to trial, much less go to prison. That means no one who knows the truth will ever tell it.
Faith: Well, look at you. That looks nice. Isn't it a fabulous day?
Lorenzo: What are you so happy about?
Faith: Well, the custody hearing. I mean, I couldn't have planned it better myself. Courtney is so anxious to avoid violence, she's practically begging me to use her piers.
Lorenzo: I'm sure you're exaggerating.
Faith: You're not going to spoil my mood, so you might as well not even try. And tell me, Lorenzo, what can I do to brighten your day?
Lorenzo: I've been thinking about when Carly took the stand yesterday.
Faith: You were thinking about Carly? I'm stunned.
Lorenzo: Alexis asked some very pointed questions about Sonny's mental stability.
Faith: Alexis is a lawyer. It's her job to make people look bad.
Lorenzo: Once again, you miss the point. I know Carly. I understand her. She's trying to protect Sonny.
Faith: Oh, my God, another shocking revelation.
Lorenzo: The weakness Alexis alluded to is definitely real. Now, you're going to help me win Carlyís kids by pushing Sonny to his breaking point and beyond it.
Justus: Why are we meeting here?
Courtney: Because if I called you to my office, Jason would assume -- correctly, as it happens -- that Faith threatened me again.
Justus: Oh, jeez. How bad?
Courtney: She took a shot at me yesterday.
Justus: Faith tried to kill you?
Courtney: No, she said it was a warning, but I got the message. Anyway, Faith thinks that she has all the control and that Iíll do whatever she wants.
Justus: That's good.
Courtney: No, Justus, it's unbearable.
Justus: You have to resist the temptation to go to Sonny and Jason on this. If the Corinthos faction goes after Faith and a mob war breaks out, those boys could well end up in foster care.
Courtney: Yeah, I realize that, but I am not going to stand aside while Faith Rosco moves drugs through my piers.
Justus: Then go to the police.
Courtney: Lucky and I already tried to trap Faith with a wire, and we all know how well that turned out.
Justus: Then inundate her with paperwork. File a complaint against Faith for carrying an unlicensed firearm. Have her pulled in for questioning or arrested for assaults. Once the cops are sniffing around that pier, Faith will back up long enough for us to get through this hearing.
Courtney: Ok, fine, I'll think of something. But just know this -- as soon as that custody hearing is over, all bets with that psycho are off.
Sonny: What is your point in putting Sam on the stand? She's had minimal contact with my children. She can't comment on my fitness as a parent or Carlyís.
Alexis: She's your lover. That makes her relationship with you germane to this case.
Sonny: I don't understand. What is going on with you? You hate Carly, but you're defending her. You're going out of your way to antagonize me.
Alexis: I'm doing the job that Carlyís paying me to do.
Sonny: Oh, is this -- what, is this all because we had a connection once? Well, let me tell you something, I will treat you like anybody else who has wronged me. But I got an advantage because I know your weaknesses. And I will break you, Alexis.
Alexis: This conversation is moot. The judge already signed the subpoena. Be prepared to testify today.
Sam: Ok --
Sonny: Let me see that, let me see that.
Sam: You and Alexis had a former connection? What was that all about? Wait, wait, I'm not allowed to ask, right?
Sonny: No, no, that's fine, that's fine. Alexis used to be my lawyer. I considered her a friend and we slept together one night, and ever since that happened, nothing's been the same.
Carly: Dragging me into court, trying to take my kids away? I don't think I'm ever going to be able to forgive Sonny again, ever. But you know what, there are things Iíve done he's never going to be able to forgive me for, either, so it's just as well. But I still love him, Jason, and I just couldn't imagine saying to the world that he has breakdowns when he has done everything he can to hide it.
Jason: I'm glad you couldnít.
Carly: Although, you know, he really doesn't have anything to be ashamed about with it. Everything that I have read says that these mood swings are a symptom of his illness, and I was hoping next time it happens that I could convince him to go to a doctor bec-- listen to me. Here I am, and Iím still talking like -- like Iím his wife.
Jason: Well, technically, you still are.
Carly: It's over, Jason. It's just paperwork.
Jason: I don't know. I don't know if you and Sonny are really over, Carly.
Carly: Yeah, well, I don't know what it's going to take to convince him.
Jason: If you would've told about Sonny's breakdowns on the stand, I might have believed it, but you didnít. I mean, I don't know if this is some kind of history, but this is the first time that you ever stopped at the brink instead of flying over it.
Carly: Yeah, well --
Jason: Which means, you know what, no matter what the decision the judge makes about the boys, you two won't have destroyed each other on that stand.
Carly: You know, I didn't stop just for Sonny. I stopped for you, too. Jason, I -- I knew that you would never look at me the same way, and you are the place that I go to before I fall. I couldn't lose you, too. Oh, Jason.
Jason: I'm sorry. I am sorry that you're hurting so much. But you're going to be ok, because you're strong. You're one of the strongest people I know, and no matter what, you're going to be able to handle it and come out that much stronger, Carly, I know it.
Carly: Yeah, well, I wish that I was as sure about it as you are.
Lorenzo: Carly, you all right?
Carly: Yeah, I'm fine. Jason and I, we were just going to walk over to the court.
Lorenzo: Before you do, I need to speak to you, alone.
Felicia: Hey there. You're awake. I've got good news, Mac. The nurse says that you are making a remarkable recovery, and that's the word that she used -- "remarkable." Your vital signs improved overnight. You're a star around here! Do you need something? I wish you could talk to me. You want to try to talk to me? Can you say my name? Try.
Felicia: No, you know what? Don't, don't. That's a really bad idea. Your lungs have taken a real beating. You just need to rest and recover. There's plenty of time to talk later. Right now what matters is that you're coming back to us.
[Knock on door]
Ric: How's my beautiful wife, hmm?
Elizabeth: Trying to be good and not stress.
Ric: Ah, let me see. I think it's safe to assume that you're not having much luck, huh?
Elizabeth: Uh-uh. My mind's going a mile a minute. Why would Jason lie for us?
Ric: Well, you have to remember, with the exception of me, people that are approaching him are people that he does care about.
Elizabeth: I thought you were approaching Sonny.
Ric: No, I don't think we need to involve my brother if at all possible. Remember, Emily is Jasonís adored little sister, and Nikolas did save his life. And then there is you. As much as I hate to say it, you were involved with Jason once and I think he would sign more than a false statement if it would protect you and your baby.
Jason: Don't tell me you guys got subpoenaed, too.
Nikolas: No, no.
Emily: We're here to ask you a really, really big favor, one that we realize we have no right to ask.
Jason: Just tell me what you need.
Emily: Ok. Elizabeth killed Zander.
Jason: Are -- are you guys sure?
Nikolas: Yeah, well, she admitted it. Zander was blackmailing Elizabeth with the baby, threatening to cause all kinds of trouble if she didn't help him get Emily back. She panicked and then hit him with a pipe.
Jason: Ok, how many people know?
Nikolas: Other than myself, Emily, Lucky, Ric, Elizabeth, and now yourself.
Jason: And this is where the favor comes in?
Emily: Um, Elizabeth was about to confess, but we came up with the idea of pinning Zanderís murder on Capelli.
Nikolas: You know, bad cop, he's already dead.
Jason: Ok, no, I get it, I get it. You want me to say that Capelli told me he killed Zander before I shot him.
Emily: Yeah, and we realize that it is an outrageous request, and if Elizabethís entire life and the life of her baby weren't at stake, then --
Jason: Ok, you know what? If I swear to something that I know is a lie, that's perjury. This could be Ricís way to set me up.
Carly: This hearing is to decide what is in the best interests of Michael and Morgan. It is not a way to get revenge on Sonny.
Lorenzo: That's incredibly generous, considering how poorly he's treated you.
Carly: Listen, Sonny doesn't react very well when he's hurt, and I understand that because I don't, either. I lash out. I do things that I end up sorry for.
Lorenzo: Really? I hadn't noticed. Oh, did that come out of my mouth?
Carly: Oh, Lorenzo. Look, I do, I really believe that you love me. But I also believe that you hate Sonny enough to do whatever you can to hurt him, and that includes going through me. And so, yeah, that makes it a little difficult to deal with sometimes.
Lorenzo: I'm sorry. I don't mean to make you feel any more pressure. Maybe things will ease up now that I sold my local businesses to Faith. Just don't detach when we're so close to having something together.
Sam: So you and Carly almost divorced?
Sonny: We got as far as filing the papers, and then we got them pulled.
Sam: Well, if it happened once, it could happen again.
Sonny: Well, the first time, Carly and I couldn't move on. This time it's already done.
Sam: Where does Alexis fit in?
Sonny: Well, like I said, you know, she was my attorney. We used to hang out after work and, you know, I mean, flirt a little bit, but no big deal, you know.
Sam: Oh, come on, Sonny, obviously, it went a little further than that.
Sonny: No, no, not really. I mean, one night, we -- we had sex, and that was pretty much the end of the story. But Alexis, I think, was hoping for more, and she got her feelings hurt. But after that, she turned against me. I think it had to do -- her sister died in an explosion that was meant for me, and after that, it was over. She hated me ever since.
Sam: Another beautiful friendship sacrificed on the altar of the casual fling.
Sonny: Well, that's why Iím trying to be clear with you. There's only so much I can give, you know? And at this point, I don't want to -- I don't want to lose another friend. I don't got very many left. So you do not want to fall in love with a guy like me because I would only disappoint you, and disappointment sometimes, you know, can turn into hate. And I like you too much to -- to risk that.
Sam: Oh, good. Well, you're lucky I like you back, because that was probably one of the most arrogant statements I've ever heard in my life. You don't have anything to worry about. I have no intention of falling in love with you, Mr. Irresistible. In fact, if you ever gave me the indication that that's what you were looking for, I would run screaming in the other direction.
Sonny: All right. Hey, I mean, this is a lot more trouble than you bargained for, and I had no idea you were going to get called on the stand.
Sam: Oh, come on, what's the worst that can happen? Alexis is going to ask me what I think of you, right? And I'll tell her the truth. I think you're terrific.
Jason: You know why Iím here.
Ric: Got your statement all prepared and ready for a signature.
Jason: I don't even get to lie my own way?
Ric: I'm just trying to speed this whole process up, Jason. I don't want to take up any more of your valuable time than is necessary. Please.
Ric: You're welcome to read it over. Make any changes that you deem necessary.
Jason: If I sign this, it's perjury, Ric.
Ric: Look, Jason, I spoke on Sonny's behalf at his custody hearing. That means he owes me. I'm calling in that favor so that I can help my wife, which I'm going to do anyway. I would appreciate your help. That's why I asked Emily and Nikolas here to intercede. If that's a problem, you just let me know and I'll be happy to go to Sonny, have him order you to help me.
Jason: No, Ric, you are making dangerous assumptions if you think Sonny owns me or that he would do anything for you for any reason.
Ric: You know what? We all hate each other -- you, me, Sonny, ok? It's a big mutual contempt society. Can we acknowledge that and then move on so that we can think about Elizabeth here? She meant something to you at one point, or am I wrong about that?
Ric: All right. You're holding her life in your hands. If you agree to help us pin Zanderís murder on Capelli, then she can move on, she can be the mother and the wife that she so desperately wants to be. If you don't, she's going to confess, she's going to go to prison, and Iím sure you don't want that.
Jason: I get the plan, Ric, ok, and it makes sense. But for this to work, I have to trust you, and I donít.
Ric: Do it for my wife, Jason, ok? Nobody's going to contradict your statement. Zander and Capelli are both dead, and everybody in this room is on the same page.
Emily: Please, Jason.
Felicia: Oh, hey. Guess who's here -- Maxie.
Maxie: Hiya, Mac. Would it be ok if I talk to Mac alone? I have something really important to tell him.
Felicia: Well, sure. I'll make a run to the cafeteria. You want something?
Maxie: No, I'm fine.
Felicia: Are you sure? Ok.
Maxie: Look at you. I'm so sorry, Mac. This is all my fault.
Courtney: I don't have time for you.
Faith: Oh, I'll keep it brief since you're obviously on your way to the custody hearing. I'm expecting a shipment tonight, Pier Seven. Make sure there are no security guards in the way. I want to unload my shipment without interference.
Courtney: Go to hell.
Faith: Oh, you know what? You'd be a scary little bunny if you were in any kind of position to actually refuse.
Courtney: Don't be so sure.
Faith: I don't think so. You see, you can't go running to big brother for help because I'll fight back, and if Sonny were to engage, he would lose his no-neck brats for good. So better run along. Don't want to be late for the custody hearing, do you?
Sam: I slammed on my brakes and Sonny pulled me out of my car.
Alexis: Did he have a gun?
Sam: Yes, but I never felt like my life was in danger. He just -- he wanted to get away, and he made that very clear to me.
Alexis: How long have you and Mr. Corinthos been sleeping together?
Sam: Since mid-January.
Alexis: Has Mr. Corinthos ever paid you for sex?
Sam: Excuse me?
Justus: Objection, your honor.
Alexis: Your honor, I have proof that Ms. McCall worked as a prostitute on more than one occasion.
Judge: I'll allow it.
Alexis: Has Mr. Corinthos ever paid you for sex?
Sam: Absolutely not!
Alexis: Let's see what we've got here. According to your criminal record, you pleaded no contest to solicitation two years ago in Texas.
Sam: The cops were lying. They were just looking --
Alexis: It's a "yes" or "no" question, Ms. McCall.
Alexis: Thank you. I also see entered pleas of no contest to multiple counts of petty theft and fraud in several states. You have a history of bad debt and you were charged with 19 counts of grand auto theft.
Sam: I was never convicted.
Alexis: Right, because the charges were dropped in exchange for your testimony against the leader of the grand theft auto ring, who was your boyfriend at the time. Isn't that correct?
Sam: I was 18 and he was 27. He lied to me and he used me, so I agreed to testify against him. What does any of this have to do with Sonny losing custody of his kids?
Alexis: Ms. McCall has Mr. Corinthos ever introduced you to his children or allowed you to spend any time with them? Would you like a tissue, Ms. McCall?
Sam: No, I'm fine.
Alexis: Would you like a glass of water?
Sam: I said Iím fine, thank you.
Alexis: Good, then answer the question, please. Has Mr. Corinthos allowed you to have contact with his children?
Sam: I've met Michael, briefly.
Alexis: When was the last time that you were in Mr. Corinthos' home?
Sam: Last night.
Alexis: Was Michael there?
Alexis: Was Morgan there?
Sam: I assume he was up--
Alexis: You assume he was upstairs? Where else would a baby in diapers be, Ms. McCall, taking a stroll on the waterfront?
Justus: Objection, your honor!
Alexis: Were both of Mr. Corinthos' sons in the penthouse when you visited last night?
Alexis: Nothing further.
Justus: I have only two questions for you, Ms. McCall. Did Mr. Corinthos ever ask you to be a part of his boys' lives, to take on a maternal role?
Justus: Did you ever tell Mr. Corinthos that you'd been arrested for solicitation or any other crime?
Sam: No, I did not.
Justus: Thank you.
Judge: Ms. McCall, you may step down.
Justus: No eye contact. Don't look at her if she walks by -- nothing.
Nikolas: Jason, I completely understand where you're coming from. I mean, I hate being in a position where we have to trust Ric. But I believe, in this case, that he's motivated not to betray us, given this is about saving Elizabeth.
Emily: I mean, would I rather do it another way? Of course, but it seems like this is the only solution.
Ric: Look, if you've got an alternative plan, I'm sure we'd all be happy to hear it.
Jason: Are we done?
Ric: The case is officially closed.
Emily: Oh, God, Iím so grateful. Thank you.
Jason: Yeah. You know what, I want Elizabeth to have the life that she finally deserves, even if this is what it takes, Ric. Don't trust him. No matter what Elizabeth wants you to believe, he is not your friend.
Ric: Your brother's certainly consistent.
Emily: He did what you wanted, didn't he?
Ric: Yeah. Capelli's officially Zanderís killer of record. I'm going to take care of the paperwork. Thank you both.
Emily: Oh, God.
Nikolas: Hey, hey. Try not to worry. In this one instance, I think Ric is trustworthy. He has the most to lose here.
Emily: Yeah, I have to believe this is the best solution for everyone, even Zander.
Jason: What are you doing here?
Courtney: Oh, I just -- I had to pay a parking ticket.
Jason: You're lying. Just like in the courthouse when you said you were late because you ran out of gas.
Courtney: Look, Jason, it's nothing you need to worry about.
Jason: No, Courtney, it's too late. I'm asking you, trust me enough to tell me what's going on.
Maxie: I tried to tell you the night of the fire, but you couldn't hear me, so that made things a lot easier. But now, it's -- it's time for you to know the truth, Mac. I've been lying to you for a really long time about Zander. When the police were in the hospital, I helped Zander get out and I took him home, where he slept in my room. But he was a total gentleman. He -- he slept on the floor and he never even tried to kiss me. I know I shouldn't have gotten involved and I should have come to you. But, Mac, I really wanted to help him. People don't understand Zander. He's not this -- this mean, horrible person. He was really sweet, and I honestly thought he was my friend. And now he's dead and you're here burned so bad you can't even speak, all because I didn't tell the truth when I should've. I'm so sorry, Mac. I love you so much. And I'll never, ever lie to you again.
Justus: What line of work are you in, Mr. Alcazar?
Lorenzo: I'm in international finance.
Justus: "International finance." Did you kidnap Carly Corinthos?
Lorenzo: I flew her to South America without her consent.
Justus: I'll take that as a "yes," your honor.
Lorenzo: It's true, I covered all expenses for a woman to have reconstructive surgery to resemble Sonny's former wife.
Justus: To what end, Mr. Alcazar?
Lorenzo: To cause a rift between Sonny and Carly.
Justus: Seems like an awful lot of trouble.
Lorenzo: I was in love with Carly. I still am.
Justus: Love? Or a sick obsession with another man's wife?
Courtney: Jason, you have to give me your word that you will not act on what Iím about to say until the custody hearing is over.
Jason: I can't make any promises. If you're in danger, I am going to protect you, that's it.
Courtney: Well, then if you can't do what I ask, then I will handle it myself.
Jason: All right.
Courtney: Faith wants to move her shipments through my piers. She threatened me, so -- so I went to Lucky, he set up a wire. I tried to get her to say something incriminating, but it didn't work.
Jason: Why -- why would you go to Lucky? Why wouldn't you come to me first?
Courtney: Because I knew that you would get in her face, Jason, and then she would get in yours, and then next thing you know, anybody knows. And even if Sonny managed to stay out of it, you know, some violence would break out somewhere, it would be splattered all over the news, Sonny would lose any chance of visiting with Michael and Morgan -- forget about keeping them.
Jason: This is ridiculous. Faith has to be stopped.
Courtney: You're right, but you can't be the one to do it.
Justus: Men fall in love with married women all the time, but you've gone to an extreme, Mr. Alcazar. You kidnapped Mrs. Corinthos. You sent her gifts even though she made it clear they weren't welcome. You stalked her, despite her repeated protests against it. Breaking up Mrs. Corinthos' marriage became the sole focus of your life. Do you consider this normal behavior?
Alexis: Oh, objection. Your honor, Mr. Ward's views on normalcy, however fascinating, have absolutely no bearing on this case. Why did you want to break up my client's marriage, Mr. Alcazar?
Lorenzo: I was concerned for Carlyís safety. I saw an amazing woman trapped in an abusive marriage and went to extreme lengths to end it. Carly's life was at risk every single day she was with him.
Alexis: Because of outside forces?
Lorenzo: Because of her husband. Sonny's jealous; prone to fits of rage. I wanted Carly away from him.
Alexis: Do you feel that your fears were justified?
Lorenzo: I think the record speaks for itself. The man shot me while I was trying to deliver his child and the bullet went into his own wife's head.
Felicia: Are you in pain? Oh, good. You know, Mac, it's most unusual to have you so silent. I don't think I've ever observed that in all the years that Iíve known you. You know what I could do? I could take advantage of that and I could go over all the arguments that we have ever had and make you see why I deserved to win them.
Felicia: Oh, you're right. What would be the fun in that? Then you wouldn't be able to fight back, right? That's the fun of it. Besides, it's quite clear that you're always completely wrong and I'm always completely right. I mean, it's just so easy, you know?
Nurse: Sorry to interrupt, but it's time to change Mr. Scorpio's bandages.
Felicia: Oh, ok. I'll be back.
Man: No. No, please.
Sonny: Michael has lived with me since he was 2 years old. He's as much my son as Morgan.
Justus: You adopted Michael, is that correct?
Sonny: I was honored to. He's an exceptional little boy.
Justus: Why don't you tell the court about your relationship with your boys?
Sonny: They're, you know -- they're my heart. I mean, they're the greatest children in the world. There's nothing I wouldn't do for either of them.
Justus: Do you consider Michael and Morgan safe while they're in your care?
Sonny: I have guards at my door the majority of the time, I have a state-of-the-art security system, and I have bulletproof windows.
Justus: You also live in a penthouse, don't you?
Sonny: That's just for extra precaution.
Justus: I have no further questions, your honor.
Alexis: Isn't it true that you detonated a bomb in your penthouse?
Man: When you pulling out?
Sam: In the next few days. I just want to pay my fees and taxes in full.
Man: Well, you owe 75 bucks. You know, if I know when you're coming back, I can hold your berth for you.
Sam: No, thank you, I won't be coming back. I don't have any reason to stay in Port Charles anymore.
Alexis: Lily Rivera-Corinthos was your first wife?
Alexis: How did she die?
Sonny: Died in a car bomb.
Alexis: Meant for you?
Alexis: Was she pregnant at the time?
Alexis: Prior to your first marriage, were you living with a woman named Brenda Barrett?
Alexis: So is it safe to conclude that people around you are often the target of violence?
Sonny: If you're referring to my sons, like I testified, I do everything I can to make sure they are safe.
Alexis: What about the danger they face from you, Mr. Corinthos?
Sonny: What are you talking about?
Alexis: Are you claustrophobic? Would you like me to repeat the question?
Sonny: No, that's not necessary. Uh -- uh, I don't like enclosed spaces.
Alexis: Any particular reason?
Sonny: I don't know.
Alexis: Is it true that you were locked in a closet and beaten by your stepfather when you were a small child and that those beatings have caused lasting psychological damage?
Justus: Objection, your honor.
Alexis: And that --
Alexis: You're subject to mood swings --
Carly: Alexis, stop it! Leave him alone!
Ric: Feeling better?
Elizabeth: Like a huge weight has been lifted.
Elizabeth: I mean, our baby's ok, you're the father this little one will know and love, and Zander will just be a name.
Emily: What's wrong?
Nikolas: I was about to ask you the same thing. I mean, I'm cleared of the murder charge, Zanderís case is closed, Elizabethís free to have her baby in peace. Seems like you should be a little happier.
Emily: I know, it's just, I mean, to you and to Ric and to even Elizabeth, you know, Zanderís -- Zanderís death is a problem to solve. It was something to be covered up and never discussed again.
Nikolas: I know. I'm sorry. I know you used to love him. I understand it's difficult for you.
Emily: I'm just -- I'm trying to pull it into focus, you know? I'm sorry Zander is gone, but I'm relieved that no one else is going to have to pay for his death. You know? It really is over, isn't it?
Nikolas: It's over.
Nurse: There's no notation of your bandages being changed earlier.
Man: Did two hours ago. Painful. Not again.
Nurse: Of course not. I'll note your chart. I want to jump out of bed in the morning.
Luke: Why hasn't this fire inspection report been filed with the national office?
Man: Because it's preliminary.
Luke: That's no excuse.
Man: It's policy.
Luke: It was policy. Didn't you get the memo?
Man: Who the hell are you?
Luke: We're federal fire inspectors straight from the capital.
Man: Yeah? Well, let me see your identification.
Luke: Ah, you should have asked for that identification right off the bat. I'm afraid Iím going to have to cite you for that.
Skye: Why aren't the Quartermaines implicated in this report?
Man: Because their building was up to code.
Skye: Really? How much did they bribe you to say that?
Man: Hey --
Luke: You took a bribe, didn't you?
Man: No! I would never take --
Skye: Well, we're just going to have to take this to the national office, I'm afraid.
Man: But it's preliminary.
Luke: Yes, well, preliminary is important to us, and we will take it and we will contact you in three days from the capital. I'm watching you.
Luke: Let's go.
Man: Yeah, well, I knew you weren't from New Orleans. Uh-huh.
Luke: Are we good or are we great?
Skye: Oh, we're fabulous.
Ned: Good evening, inspector. Where's the report?
Sam: You don't need to worry about Mr. Alcazar. He's not going to hurt you or anyone else in your family, ok?
Michael: What about Mommy? He says he's her friend.
Sam: Why don't you just let your daddy take care of this?
Michael: He has a lot of other things to take care of.
Sam: Yeah, that's true. But you -- you and Morgan are most important.
Michael: Why can't Mommy come home, then?
Sonny: What's going on here?
Michael: It's ok, Daddy. It's business.
Tracy: What do you mean the Feds have the fire report?
Ned: They got to the inspector first.
Tracy: Oh. That's what you get for soul-searching! If you'd left when I told you to leave --
Ned: Calm down! We'll think of something else.
Tracy: I already did, thank god!
Edward: Get out of here, both of you. You have no business being in this house.
Tracy: Where the hell have you been?
Edward: I got proof. It's over. I'm not to blame for that fire.
Ned: How did you get that report?
Edward: I'm resourceful, unlike my offspring.
Tracy: Let me see that.
Edward: Ah. Uh-uh. Doesn't say who did it, only that I didn't do it.
Tracy: Let me see it, Daddy!
Luke: Oh, oh, oh --
Tracy: Daddy, give it --
Luke: Keep-away -- my favorite game. Agent Spencer reporting for duty, sir.
Tracy: Well, I guess I should have known.
Luke: And the ever-lovely agent blaze, of course.
Skye: We posted that report on the internet, gave it to WLPC, and dropped it off at the "Port Charles Herald."
Luke: Eddie wins, you lose.
Edward: Brandy, anyone?
[Knock on door]
Tracy: Thank heavens you got here so quickly.
Skye: You -- you wouldnít.
Tracy: Please, help my poor father. Take him to Shadybrook -- for his own good.
Elizabeth: Ok, why should anyone else have to pay for what Iíve done?
Nikolas: Wait a minute. What if -- what if the killer's already dead?
Lucky: What, from the fire?
Nikolas: He was shot soon after.
Nikolas: Yeah. Why not?
Lucky: Well, he murdered Brian beck and tried to kill Jason.
Nikolas: Well, why not say he killed Zander, as well?
Elizabeth: Because he didnít. I did.
Emily: Capelli's dead. If we can blame Zanderís death on him, then no one else will get hurt.
Ric: What if Capelli bragged about killing Zander and someone overheard him?
Lucky: What if that someone is Jason?
Nikolas: Yeah, would Jason say that?
Emily: Maybe -- to help me.
Nikolas: To help you, but not -- but not to help Ric?
Emily: Unless -- unless Sonny gave him the order.
Nikolas: Well, Ric, you'll just have to convince Sonny to give that order.
Monica: Well, are you all ready for the ultrasound?
Lorenzo: I am trying to understand. Why did you sabotage your own case?
Carly: That was not my intention.
Lorenzo: You're saying Alexis fabricated Sonny's breakdowns?
Carly: Yeah, I did say that -- about 15 times under oath.
Lorenzo: Ok, fine, maybe Alexis went overboard, but clearly you are trying to protect Sonny. Why? He wants your children.
Carly: Listen to me. If Sonny and I trash each other, the judge could put our kids into foster care.
Lorenzo: The violence in Sonny's life is a matter of public record.
Carly: Yeah, I understand that, but there are certain lines that I will not cross.
Jason: You followed Alcazar to the pier?
Jason: That's after you snuck onto Samís boat?
Michael: She told him to get off her boat or she'd shoot him.
Sonny: Jason, can you take Sam home, please?
Sam: Don't be too hard on him. Why don't you just say it? It was wrong for me to be here. I should have just stayed out of it, right?
Jason: You want what's best for Michael and Morgan?
Jason: So do I.
Sonny: How many times are you going to run off, Michael? It's not Leticiaís fault that you lied to her. I mean, I -- but I got to be able to trust that you're going to stay with her. Otherwise, Iím going to have to put a guard on you at all times -- Danny, max. I can't have you running off by yourself.
Michael: I just want to fix things. You know, like you fix things.
Edward: Get out of my house now!
Tracy: It's going to be all right.
Edward: Ned, do something.
Ned: I -- I am. This is for the good of the family.
Skye: Ned, you don't want to see him locked up.
Edward: I'm not crazy.
Tracy: Daddy, don't be afraid.
Skye: Let me see those. I don't believe this.
Edward: Oh, no. No, no, no. This -- it's a forgery. It's -- it's got to be a forgery. Alan and Monica would never agree to get me to go into Shadybrook. They would --
Skye: What, are you trying to kill him?
Tracy: Daddy needs to be in the hospital, Skye.
Skye: Ned, this man has devoted his entire life to you, to this family. Yes, he has made mistakes, but he's always loved you. You just can't -- you just can't throw him away like this.
Tracy: It's difficult for everyone, but don't you worry, Daddy. You're going to be just fine.
Edward: Will you tell your grandmother I love her? And I will be back soon.
Skye: Edward, I will do whatever I can to get you out of there as soon as I can, I promise.
Luke: Institutions are my specialty, Edward.
Edward: I appreciate everything you can do. Now, what the hell are you waiting for? Let's go.
Tracy: Buh-bye, Daddy.
Luke: Brr! It's cold in here.
Skye: You're going to pay for this, both of you.
Tracy: The next step is to nullify the will.
Skye: That won't happen.
Tracy: My father was deluded, confused. You took advantage of him, you cow.
Skye: So, tell me, Ned. How will you ever explain this to Lila?
Ned: She understands Edward better than anyone. She knows that he brought this on himself.
Luke: I know a thing or two about loony bins -- who's supposed to be in and who's supposed to not be in. Edward's an annoying pain in the butt, but he's not crazy. Skye and I will make sure the old codger doesn't suffer because of you two. Right?
Skye: That's right.
Ric: Is everything all right? Can you see anything?
Monica: Well, so far so good.
Elizabeth: Look, honey, it's our baby.
Monica: And he -- or she -- is doing just fine.
Emily: See, Elizabeth? It's all going to work out.
Nikolas: Yeah. All you need to do is relax and take care of that baby.
Lucky: Yeah, and figure out which one us you're going to name the godparents.
Elizabeth: I love you all so much.
Ric: The worst part's over.
Lorenzo: Carly, I am trying to warn you before you make a critical mistake. You are thinking with your emotions. Sonny wonít. He's looking at this as a problem to be solved, and if you're not careful, he's going to win.
Carly: Not with Faith Rosco making him look bad on your orders.
Lorenzo: I sold out to Faith to help you.
Carly: Really? Well, Faith showed up here today in court, and I'm pretty certain that she did something to Courtney to make her late.
Lorenzo: She did, but Courtney denies it.
Carly: Well, then, Courtney is trying to keep the peace, but I'm not so sure that you are. Lorenzo, I honestly -- I don't know what you want out of this.
Sonny: Listen, you don't have to fix things, that's my job.
Michael: Then why can't you fix it so Mommy can come home?
Sonny: Because that's not what Mommy wants. Mommy loves you very much. She loves Morgan very much. But things will never be the way they were.
Michael: What did the judge say?
Sonny: Nothing yet.
Michael: Was the hearing scary?
Sonny: Yeah, sometimes, you know, but actually some good things happened. Your mother got on the stand to testify, and she -- she could have said some mean things to hurt your daddy, but she didn't. You know, and then I probably would have gotten up and gotten mad and said some mean things to hurt her, and it would have been the worst fight ever. But you know what? Your mother did -- ahem -- a very difficult thing today. She backed down. And now maybe I can back down a little bit, you know. And things can work out for all of us. Come here.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Faith: Tell me, Lorenzo, what can I do to brighten your day?
Courtney: They threatened me again.
Justus: Oh. How bad?
Alexis: There, you're served.
Sonny: You're going out of your way to antagonize me.
Alexis: Your honor, I have proof that Ms. McCall worked as a prostitute on more than one occasion.
Judge: I'll allow it.
