Emily: Where's your attorney?
Nikolas: Good question.
Emily: Alexis said she would find one for you in time for the arraignment.
Nikolas: And I haven't heard from Alexis. She obviously has other priorities.
Alexis: Carly wants you to testify for her in her upcoming custody hearing.
Courtney: And she hired you to represent her?
Alexis: That would be why I'm here.
Courtney: Ok, I don't get it, Alexis. You hate Carly. Why would you agree to take her case? And why on earth would she trust you to do it?
Carly: Do you want a bite, huh?
Lorenzo: No thanks.
Carly: Uh-oh. This could be trouble.
Carly: Hmm? I don't know you --
Carly: All that well yet, and are you the type that thinks that doughnuts and junk food are full of chemicals and empty calories?
Lorenzo: They are.
Carly: You going to become the food police?
Lorenzo: I'm not Sonny. I'm not going to tell you what to eat or how to act or question every move you make. I like you just the way you are.
Carly: You like them? You sure?
Faith: Well, if it isn't the man who gave up everything for love. Not that Iím complaining, you know, but I just have to wonder, what's in it for you?
Sonny: What were you thinking, going along with Courtney?
Jason: Ok. First of all, all the information on the bill of lading was legit, so I gave it to her. That's it.
Sonny: Which -- ok, which implies we're going to go along with her impossible terms.
Jason: No, it -- she owns half the waterfront. At the first sign of violence, she's going to pull all the leases.
Sonny: I'm not going to change how I do my business, Jason, because some woman handed Courtney over a chunk of real estate. She's your wife. Get her under control before she trashes my business the way Carly has trashed my life.
Ric: Look, if you don't have an attorney within the next 24 hours, we'd be happy to appoint a public defender.
Emily: No, Nikolas won't need one. Alexis is providing a referral.
Ric: Well, she better hurry. She's going to have a lot of work to prepare.
Nikolas: Wait. You're the prosecutor. It works to your advantage if my attorney isn't ready.
Ric: This conviction's going to go by the book.
Nikolas: There's not going to be a conviction, Ric, because I didn't kill Zander.
Sage: Thank you so much for coming.
Dillon: You -- you said you're in trouble?
Sage: Big-time. You have to help me cover so my uncle won't find out.
Faith: Let me get this straight. You're going to get on the stand and tell the judge that you're dating Carly. And he's going to say, "But, wait, you're a sleazy, murderous drug lord." And you're going to say, "No, no, no, Iíve changed. I am now a wonderful, clean-cut guy"?
Lorenzo: The deal works to your advantage. Why are you questioning my motives?
Faith: Oh, I don't know. I just can't help but wonder why you're selling me your territory.
Lorenzo: This is a one-time deal, Faith. You need to take it or leave it.
Faith: Oh, I'm taking it. You see, that's why I'm here. We need a few minutes to go over the finer points. Honey, why don't run home and warm up the sheets?
Lorenzo: Carly and I are out for a walk. You'll hear from me when Iím ready to negotiate.
Faith: I can hardly wait.
Carly: Are you sure that it is a good idea to sell off all your territory to Faith? It is an incredible amount of power.
Lorenzo: You afraid she'll go after Sonny?
Carly: That woman is lethal.
Lorenzo: After all he's done to you, you're still protecting him.
Alexis: I would've died in that fire if it weren't for Carly, so this is my way of repaying the debt.
Courtney: Ok, well, I still don't understand why Carly would choose you.
Alexis: Well, I'm afraid you're going to have to ask her that. In the meantime, Iíd like to address your testimony. You've spent a considerable amount of time with Carly and her children. Would you say that she's a good mother?
Courtney: Yeah, absolutely.
Alexis: Would you be willing to testify to the fact that Morgan and Michael should reside with Carly?
Jason: Excuse me. I'm sorry. I need to talk to you.
Courtney: Yeah, I'm -- Iím in the middle of something.
Jason: I know. It's really important.
Courtney: I -- listen, I need to think on whether or not I want to testify. I'll call you when Iíve made up my mind.
Alexis: That may not be an option, Courtney. You may be subpoenaed. So could you.
Courtney: So, what's -- what's so important?
Jason: I need your help.
Sam: Excuse me. Can you tell me what room Mr. Quartermaine's in?
Jax: Checking in to see how the old boy's feeling?
Sam: No, Jax, I need a new berth for the Lazarus III.
Jax: You want to use one of the E.L.Q. piers?
Sam: Yeah. I was just kind of hoping maybe the Quartermaines would give me a discount, considering all my stuff burned in the hotel fire.
Jax: How did I know there'd be an angle?
Sam: Disappointed in me as usual, I see.
Jax: No. No, not at all. I meant what I said before. No, I wish you all the best and I hope that you're happy.
Sam: I will be happy once I have a place to dock the boat.
Jax: Why don't you contact Pride-Phillips? They own half the piers on the waterfront. They should be able to rent you a berth.
Emily: You know, there's a weird kind of symmetry to this. Zander spent months in PCPD lockup awaiting trial for murder, and now you're here and -- and Zanderís the murder victim.
Nikolas: I didn't kill him, Emily. I swear. All we did was fight, that's all.
Emily: I know, I know. Someone else killed Zander before that fire started.
Nikolas: Who, then?
Emily: Lucky knows you're innocent. He's going to find the real killer.
Nikolas: Yeah, if the fire hasn't covered up all the evidence.
Elizabeth: So, when is Nikolas being released on bail?
Ric: His arraignment was postponed. His lawyer was a no-show.
Elizabeth: Well, what about the investigation? I mean, have you, you know, found any more evidence that Scott Baldwin may have killed Zander?
Ric: Sweetheart, I told you -- I told you I'd look into it.
Elizabeth: Ok, did you check Zanderís room? Because I think there might be stuff in there that --
Ric: I'm handling -- Liz, I'm handling it. Don't worry.
Elizabeth: It just makes sense. That's all Iím saying.
Ric: I know -- listen to me. I know that Nikolas and Emily are your best friends, but you are pregnant, ok? I want you to take it easy. Please, don't -- don't get involved.
Elizabeth: I already am.
Sage: Ok. Maybe I was a little drunk, but it's not like I was driving. I was arguing with the bouncer at this club. And the cops brought me to the station and made me spend the night in this disgusting cell. And now they won't release --
Sage: Now they won't release me without a parent or guardian.
Dillon: So call your uncle.
Sage: No! There has to be another way to get me out of here.
Dillon: Oh, my God. Sage, your uncle loves you. He thinks you're great, ok, and he's going to give you major points for honesty.
Sage: You don't get it. Uncle Lorenzo will send me back to boarding school.
Dillon: You don't know that.
Sage: Yeah, I do. Maybe you're hoping I go because then you'll be free to go back to Georgie.
Travis: Georgie, wait.
Georgie: Hey. Hey, sorry I didn't call you back the other night.
Travis: Oh, don't worry about it. How's your dad?
Georgie: He's still in the burn unit. I spent all day at the hospital.
Travis: I'm really sorry.
Georgie: It's ok. The doctors say he's going to get better.
Travis: So you think you'll be able to take some time off? I got a game on Friday. I'm starting. You could come watch -- I mean, if you're not busy.
Georgie: I don't think that would be such a good idea.
Travis: We'll go get some pizza afterwards.
Georgie: Well, the thing is, ever since the fire and everything that's been going on since, it seems kind of silly for us to keep pretending like we're dating.
Travis: So our deal is off?
Georgie: Yeah, I'll still do your papers like I promised, but you don't have to pretend to be in love with me anymore.
Lorenzo: You didn't say three words all the way home.
Carly: I was thinking. Maybe it's true what you said.
Lorenzo: About you protecting Sonny?
Carly: It's like second nature, you know? You -- you spend years with a person, you can't just get over it overnight.
Lorenzo: Hmm. I can't say I'm happy about it, but I understand.
Carly: I'm worried about you, too, Lorenzo. Faith is capable of anything.
Lorenzo: I can handle her.
Carly: No, she's paranoid. I'm sure she's thinking that you might be taking back your territory and -- what if she decides to kill you, hmm? How are you going to protect yourself?
Lorenzo: You are worried.
Carly: Well, yeah. You know, I've actually gotten used to having you around. I don't want to be the reason that -- that you would die.
Lorenzo: I have no intention of dying, not when Iím about to get everything I ever wanted.
Jason: I gave you papers to prove that our business on the piers would be legit, but there's no way that I can guarantee there's not going to be any violence.
Courtney: All right, well, then, we may as well just save time and pull the leases right now.
Jason: Courtney, I'm asking you not to as a favor to Sonny.
Courtney: Jason, we have already been through this.
Jason: I know. This thing with Carly is killing him, ok? He's angry all the time, and right now he's making some bad decisions.
Courtney: Yeah, I've noticed.
Jason: What if -- what if you refuse to lease and it just pushes Sonny over the edge? What if Sonny's screaming and yelling and smashing things when -- when the social worker shows up to determine if he's a fit parent?
Courtney: I am not responsible Sonny's behavior!
Jason: I know that you're not, but you can help. Just give him -- give him some time to calm down, to think things through. Just back the leases off for six months.
Courtney: Jason, I told you this yesterday -- I am not going to turn a blind eye while you guys are breaking the law.
Jason: I know that you don't want to be a part of the life --
Courtney: No, I can't!
Jason: That I lead, ok? I'm just asking you to put aside the feelings that you have for me -- whether you're angry or you're disappointed or whatever it is!
Courtney: Ok, look, I don't want someone to be killed or get hurt on my property, ok? It goes against everything that I believe in.
Jason: Sonny needs you! You're his sister. He loves you, and I know that -- I know that you love him. Please help him.
Sonny: Ok, listen, why don't you go with Leticia and Morgan to the doctor. I'll meet you there.
Michael: Can you come now?
Sonny: I will be there as soon as I can.
Michael: But the doctors are going to give me a shot. I hate shots. They hurt.
Sonny: I --
Michael: You have to be there.
Sonny: I will be there, but --
Jax: Why don't you go over and join them?
Sam: Jax, Sonny's kids are going through enough. They don't need daddy's new girlfriend rammed down their throats.
Jax: Ah, so you're keeping your distance?
Sam: For now, yes, I am.
Jax: Was that your idea or Sonny's?
Sonny: You guys go in there. I'll be there.
Sonny: Thanks for not coming over.
Sam: No worries. Michael -- he obviously needed you.
Sonny: I don't want you to think that I don't want to talk to you or something. I was just, you know --
Sam: Yeah. Look, your kids and I -- we're not going to bond. That's ok with me. I'm -- I am not and have never been good with children, so --
Sonny: Really? I don't believe that. But I appreciate that because -- just for Michaelís sake.
Sam: Yeah. Yeah, I have a life of my own. See you when I want, and that's fine by me.
Edward: Oh, Jax. What a delightful surprise.
Jax: Edward. How are you feeling?
Edward: Oh, I've been better. But I'm surprised to see you, dear boy. I thought you would be on your honeymoon with Skye. Ooh, you didn't come back here just on my account.
Jax: Oh, I heard that you were a little confused. I suppose that means that you don't remember agreeing to sell me the pharmaceutical division of E.L.Q.
Edward: That's a bald-faced lie!
Jax: Well, well, well. Same manipulator you've always been.
Edward: I mean, I -- I thought I was going to sell you all of E.L.Q. I don't think my children would mind.
Jax: Give it up, Edward.
Jax: Ok, you're faking it to duck the liability for the Port Charles Hotel fire. Frankly, it's not a bad idea.
Tracy: Lie back, daddy. You need to relax.
Alan: Jax, what are you doing here? My father is delusional.
Edward: Forget it. Forget it, Alan. He's no fool. He knows everything that's going on.
Jax: Yeah. Get your stories straight, decide who's in charge of E.L.Q., and give me a call. I might be willing to take that pharmaceutical division from you.
Alan: We don't want your help.
Jax: No, you'll need the money. Edward's crazy act is not going to hold the creditors off for too long.
Tracy: Would you sedate him, please, before he drives us directly to the poorhouse?
Emily: We can't wait for Alexis any longer. I'm going to go find Justus, ok?
Nikolas: Better him than a public defender.
Emily: I'll be back as soon as I can, ok?
Elizabeth: Hey, Em. I heard about the mess-up with Nikolas' arraignment. Is there anything I can do?
Emily: Yeah, how about persuading your husband to drop charges, Liz?
Elizabeth: Em, I'm sorry.
Emily: No, I am. Listen, I know you're caught in the middle.
Elizabeth: I don't doubt for a second that Nikolas is innocent.
Emily: And all we have to do is prove it.
Sage: Think of the upside, Dillon. Once Iím gone, you can beg Georgieís forgiveness and tell her how I put some sort of spell on you and how you regret every minute you spent with me.
Dillon: I donít. I mean I don't regret every minute.
Sage: What, just some of the minutes?
Dillon: Sage, I -- I like you, ok? I like you. You're smart, you're unpredictable, you're funny, ok?
Sage: But Georgie is the girl you love.
Dillon: Yes. Yeah, I do, and I probably always will. I -- I wish I could be together with her again.
Sage: Well, you'll have your chance once Iím in boarding school.
Dillon: You know, just because I want to be with Georgie doesn't mean that I want you to go away. We've been through a lot of stuff together and somewhere along the way we became friends. That matters to me. So do me a favor -- be straight with your uncle and convince him to get you out of here, ok?
Sage: I'll try.
Lorenzo: Thanks for waiting with Sage. I'll handle it from here.
Dillon: If you need me to stick around --
Lorenzo: No thanks.
Sage: It's ok. I'll be fine.
Dillon: Ok. Bye.
Courtney: What do you want?
Sam: I want to speak to whoever's in charge of renting dock space at Pride-Phillips.
Courtney: Well, you're looking at her.
Sam: Seriously, who's in charge?
Courtney: I own Pride-Phillips, and if you're looking to rent a berth, you're not exactly convincing me to say yes.
Sam: No, you are a waitress, not a businesswoman.
Courtney: Well, things change.
Sam: I've run enough cons in my life to know one when I see one. What are you here for, a job interview? Stepping in while the boss is out?
Courtney: Well, you know what? If you don't believe me, you can go check the County Clerk's office.
Sam: Better yet, I think I'll check with your brother because I think he'd know if his sister was an overnight real estate mogul.
Courtney: Don't you dare use me as an excuse to go see my brother.
Sam: I don't need an excuse to see your brother. He wants to see me, and that's fine by me.
Courtney: You know what? Carly is my best friend. And you may be sleeping with her husband -- I can't stop you -- but I will never do you any favors. So why don't you take your trashy little home-wrecking ass out of my office now and don't come back.
Alexis: I just spoke to Courtney.
Carly: And did she agree to testify?
Alexis: She said that she would think about it.
Carly: This isn't easy for her. She and Sonny worked real hard to build a relationship, and she knows that it'll be ruined if she takes my side in court.
Alexis: Do you think she'll turn you down?
Carly: No, she will say yes. I think she knows in her heart that the kids belong with me.
Alexis: Good, because her testimony is pivotal, and so is Jasonís. You think you can get him to testify in your favor?
Jason: Hey. Hey, buddy, how'd it go with the doctor?
Michael: Fine. Wish mommy was there to make it feel better.
Sonny: But you're doing good now, right, buddy?
Sonny: All right. Do me a favor -- go upstairs with Leticia and your brother. We got something to discuss.
Jason: I spoke to Courtney. She's going to hold all the leases off for about six months.
Sonny: Six -- that's not good enough.
Jason: What are you -- what are you -- Sonny, it's going to give us time.
Sonny: Time for what?
Jason: Time to work something out, find a middle ground.
Sonny: There is no middle ground. We've been working this operation for years. We know how it works. Courtney doesn't have a clue. No way am I going to let her dictate to us.
Jason: Sonny, she owns that company --
Sonny: No, tell her I want her out, make her an offer. I'll buy all the piers if I have to!
Jason: I don't think she's going to sell all the piers.
Sonny: Then you better find a way to change her mind!
Jason: I've already talked to her!
Sonny: You know what? I used to tell you what to do before, you never even blinked! You would just do it! Now every time I turn around, you're telling me I'm wrong, I'm --
Jason: That's not -- Sonny, that's not what I'm doing.
Sonny: I've been -- Iíve been -- the last hour -- Morgan screaming in my arms, Michael crying because he's getting a shot, asking where his mother is. "Where's mommy? Where's mommy? She's the only one who can fix things." What am I supposed to say to him? "Mommy's in bed with a drug lord"?
Jason: Sonny, calm -- Sonny, calm down.
Sonny: No, I'm not going to calm down! I'm tired of -- I'm tired of listening to all the reasons why we can't get a lease condition! Get it done!
Sonny: What the hell did you do that for?
Jason: I'm getting your attention! Sonny, you have to stop. If you lose it again, it's going to cost you everything.
Edward: Oh, would you stop overreacting?
Tracy: "Overreacting"? Excuse me. You just told Jax you weren't senile!
Edward: He connected the dots himself.
Tracy: Well, good for him. Now he can ruin our plan. Thank you.
Alan: Will you two give it a rest?
Emily: What's going on here?
Tracy: Oh, yay.
Emily: Grandfather, you're supposed to be taking it easy.
Edward: Well, I'm glad to see you, my dear, and we're so relieved that -- that Nikolas is all right.
Tracy: Yes, and never mind that pesky little murder charge.
Emily: It was unfair of me to blame you for everything that happened, grandfather. But I'm glad to see you've got your energy back.
Edward: Well, why don't you stay here with me while you two go have a latte or something, hmm?
Emily: Actually, I can't stay.
Emily: I'm looking for Justus. Nikolas needs a lawyer.
Tracy: Why don't you have his lunatic aunt represent him?
Emily: She's busy on another case right now, Tracy.
Tracy: Oh. Does that translate as "Alexis knows he's guilty"?
Emily: He's not.
Tracy: Would you get hold of yourself? Nikolas murdered Zander and, in the process, started the fire which burned the hotel, which is bankrupting the Quartermaine family.
Emily: No, that is not what happened! Nikolas is innocent!
Edward: Oh, nothing of the sort, dear. He admitted to fighting with Zander in the basement.
Emily: Yeah, and that's all he did, grandfather.
Edward: Oh, now, come on --
Tracy: Really? Were you there?
Emily: No, Nikolas told me what happened.
Alan: Nikolas wouldn't tell you everything. You were married to Zander. He's only trying to protect you.
Emily: Dad, he isn't lying. He's always been honest with me.
Tracy: Well, I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but he is going to be convicted and he's going to go to prison and he will be out of our lives forever.
Emily: You know what? If you don't want to help me, fine. But one way or another, I'm going to make sure Nikolas is acquitted.
Nikolas: Zander was unconscious when I left, but he was definitely alive, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: Which means somebody must have entered the basement.
Nikolas: I -- yeah, he could have -- maybe Zander woke up, they struggled.
Elizabeth: It makes sense that it was Scott Baldwin.
Nikolas: I don't know. I'm more interested in proving that I didn't kill Zander than finding out who did.
Ric: Shouldn't you be getting to the hospital? You're going to be late for your ultrasound.
Elizabeth: I've got time.
Ric: Yeah, but, see, I'm pulling rank as a concerned husband. Come on, let's go.
Nikolas: Just -- it's all right. Go ahead. He's right. The police station is no place for a mother-to-be, although I appreciate the visit.
Elizabeth: You sure you're going to be ok?
Nikolas: Yeah, yeah. Emily will be back soon. I'll be ok.
Lorenzo: Won't be any more trouble from my niece.
Sage: I'm sorry to embarrass you.
Lorenzo: I'm concerned, Sage. You shouldn't be drinking.
Sage: I party now and then. A lot of kids do it.
Lorenzo: You're not a lot of kids. You're my niece.
Sage: I guess I'm pretty inconvenient these days, aren't I? You and Carly are on your way to happily ever after, and you'll be playing daddy to her two adorable kids. The last thing you need is your bad news niece hanging around. So when do I leave for boarding school?
Lorenzo: I love you, Sage. I'm not sending you away. And if Carly and I happen to get married someday, you will be part of our family.
Carly: Can't we just leave Jason out of the custody hearing?
Alexis: No, we can't, because Jason is Sonny's business partner. He also cohabitated with you for several months. He's Morganís Godfather. And the bottom line is your children are too young to get to decide where they want to live.
Carly: Ok. Well, then, like I said, you just need to prove that I am the more stable parent.
Alexis: It's not quite that simple.
Carly: It is to me.
Alexis: Look, Jason and Courtney are the two adults closest to this situation. So when it comes to "He said, she said," the court is going to listen to their opinion.
Carly: Are you telling me that Jason and Courtney get to decide who gets Michael and Morgan?
Alexis: I didn't say that, Carly. I said that the court is going to consider input from other sources, but -- but Jason and Courtney will hold a lot of weight.
Carly: Ok. Well, like I said, Courtney will side with me.
Alexis: And what about Jason?
Carly: I don't know. He may -- he may take Sonny's side.
Alexis: Well, you need to get him to change his mind because you may very well lose your children if Jason doesn't testify on your behalf.
Jason: Carly isn't here to keep Michael upstairs or make excuses if you lose it, Sonny. You have to find a way to control yourself if you want custody --
Sonny: I know --
Jason: Of Michael and Morgan.
Sonny: I know, I know, I know. I just -- it just keeps getting worse. I can't -- half the time, I want to put my fist through a wall, Jason.
Jason: I understand, but you got to find a way to deal with this, you know, make some kind of compromise.
Sonny: That's hard, ok? Carly is together with Alcazar. They -- you know, he is a monster. I can't have him anywhere near my children, and I can't trust that Carly will stay away from him.
Jason: The boys miss their mother.
Sonny: I know that, and Carly misses them, too. Sometimes I see how much Iím hurting her, and I hate myself. When the kids were crying, it took everything in me not to call her so she could come over and comfort them. But I knew it wouldn't be good because, in the end, it would just hurt them worse. My children -- Michael and Morgan are my children. They stay with me. That's it.
Carly: Jase, it's me.
Jason: Carly. What's up?
Carly: Can you come over?
Jason: What? Now?
Carly: Yeah, this isn't a trap or anything. I just -- I really -- I need to talk to you.
Jason: All right. I'll be right over.
Dillon: Hey, Georgie.
Georgie: Dillon. I thought you were going to be here bright and early to check on your grandfather. What happened?
Dillon: Yeah, I know. I had to help Sage.
Georgie: "Had to"?
Dillon: Yeah, she got in trouble again, and I kind of was trying to bail her out of it.
Georgie: No, you mean she whistled and you came running?
Dillon: Georgie, Sage doesn't have a whole lot of friends in this town, ok?
Georgie: I'm sorry. I -- I didn't mean to come down on you. Look, you're a really nice guy, Dillon, and you helped Sage out like Tom helps me.
[Elevator door opens]
Travis: Hey, Dillon. Could you do me a favor?
Dillon: I am really not the right person to ask for this.
Travis: It's about Georgie. I want to move things up with her, you know, like get closer. Girls like romance, right? So I was figuring if I do something romantic, Georgie will think I'm great.
Dillon: Sounds like a plan.
Travis: But, Dillon, you know her more than anyone. What do you think she'll go for?
Dillon: Um -- well, Georgieís a -- she's a real physical kind of girl. She likes making out in public.
Travis: Since when? I make out with Georgie all the time in public. She's not really into getting felt up.
Dillon: Yeah, yeah. I know, I know. It's all an act. I'm telling you, she likes guys that are spontaneous and aggressive, ok? The hotter, the better, man. Oh, yeah.
Travis: So more than kissing, like really mack on her?
Dillon: Oh, yeah. I mean, I -- Iím telling you. You know what? You know what? Next time -- next time you see her, don't even say hi. Don't even say hi. Just, like, walk up and bam.
Jax: You're working for Pride-Phillips?
Courtney: No, not exactly. I -- I met Louise Phillips during the fire.
Jax: Oh, so Louise hired you directly. Well, I'm not surprised. I've known her for years. She's an eccentric old girl but very savvy.
Courtney: Yeah, and very generous.
Jax: You said you were making a change in your life, but I doubt working as a secretary is your true calling.
Courtney: Well, how would you know? You've only seen me wait tables at Kellyís.
Jax: You have the makings of a fine executive, Courtney, and I'm willing to prove it. I'll double whatever Louise is paying you if you come work for me.
Courtney: Oh, my God. You know, that is the third or fourth job offer that you have given me.
Jax: Well, doesn't that tell you that Iím impressed with you?
Courtney: Yeah, well, you're just forgetting one minor little detail, Jax.
Jax: What's that?
Courtney: I keep turning you down. So when are you going to take no for an answer?
Jax: How about never? How about that?
Sam: Did you just come from visiting your grandfather?
Sam: Great. I thought Edward was on 10.
Emily: You know what? If you missed your floor, just wait to go back down.
Emily: Oh. Oh, this is -- this is -- this is perfect. This is perfect. We are stuck because of you.
Sam: Because of me? You know what? I am sick of being blamed for everything. For your information, I am not responsible for every damn elevator that breaks down.
Emily: Yes, but you are responsible for trying to steal the treasure, which started this whole God-awful mess that has ended in Nikolas being arrested for murder. So you know what? Just don't -- don't expect any sympathy from me.
Sam: Fine. Get in line. I've ruined Jax and Sonny's lives. Why not add yours to the list?
Carly: Thanks for coming. Does -- does this mean that you've forgiven me?
Jason: For what?
Carly: Last time I saw you, I threatened to have you arrested.
Jason: Yeah well, you know, Sonny was going to take your kids, so you had a right to be upset.
Carly: I know you're loyal to Sonny, but I also know in my heart that you will never let me down. I mean, every time I have been in trouble, you've helped me out, and there is no logical reason for it. Because after all the garbage that Iíve put you through, you really should hate my guts, but you donít. And I do know that if I really, really need you, you will be there. And I really need you now, Jason, so do Michael and Morgan. And, please, I am -- I'm just asking you to please promise me that you will testify and tell the court that they belong with me.
Faith: Glad you could join me.
Sonny: Ok, you got about two minutes.
Faith: Well, that could stretch into three, maybe even four once you hear my offer.
Sonny: Say what you need to say.
Faith: You might want to start treating me with a little more respect now that Iím taking over Lorenzo Alcazar's territory.
Sonny: Ah! You know what? Go ahead. Start a war. You guys kill each other. Just don't come to me for help.
Lorenzo: Faith and I have reached an agreement that suits us both. She'll be taking over my interests.
Faith: Yeah. See, that means that Iím going to be just as powerful as you now, Sonny. So, guess that just makes your day, doesn't it?
Sonny: You know what? Just -- can you just stay away from me? We'll get along fine.
Faith: Well, actually, it's going to work a little bit more like this. You're going to go home and sit down and think real hard about all the ways you're going to cooperate with me. That or I will take you out.
Sonny: Wow. I got to -- I got to hand it to you. You just set up one hell of a trap.
Dillon: Now's your chance. Now's your chance.
Travis: You really think it'll work?
Dillon: See for yourself.
Georgie: Hey, Tom, what's --
Sage: Dillon -- you were right. Uncle Lorenzo was extremely understanding, and Iím going to stay right here. Isn't that great?
Alexis: I'm sorry I'm late. I -- I was non-stop all day. I just checked my messages and found out you're supposed to be arraigned.
Nikolas: It's all right. Emily's working on plan B as we speak.
Alexis: This is exactly why I shouldn't consult, Nikolas -- because you deserve an attorney that can you give you their full attention right now.
Nikolas: Look, I know you love me.
Alexis: I do love you. And -- and you know that I would do this if I could.
Nikolas: But there's one person in your life who comes before me, and that's Kristina. This is about her, isn't it?
Alexis: It has everything to do with her.
Emily: You aren't helping.
Sam: No, of course I'm not helping. Why would I help? I am a greedy, treasure-hunting, home-wrecking whore. Don't you know that by now?
Emily: I was out of line before.
Sam: No. No, not at -- not at all. Ask Jax. Ask Sonny's sister. Ask his miserable, unfaithful wife. I am the lowest of low. I -- I -- I am the cause of everyone's problems. Can't you see that?
Sam: Oh, great.
Emily: Well, no.
[Sam and Emily laugh]
Jax: Courtney, you could start as an executive assistant and work your way up to management.
Courtney: All right, and whose assistant would I be?
Jax: Mine, of course.
Jax: I'll teach you everything you need to know.
Courtney: That's generous.
Jax: I'm impressed with you. I keep telling you that.
Courtney: Well, I guess Louise Phillips was, too, since she gave me $10 million and control of this company. Look, I -- I don't need a job or a teacher or a boyfriend. Do you have anything else you can offer me?
Jason: Look, I don't -- I don't think the kids are better off with you or Sonny. Ok, Michael and Morgan need both their parents. You guys should have joint custody.
Carly: I already offered that to Sonny, and he turned me down.
Jason: Try again.
Carly: Jason, come on. You know he's not going to agree to that. Sonny has decided I am an unfit parent and he's going for sole custody, and so I have got to do the same. I just -- I need you to support me in court.
Jason: Carly, you --
Carly: Please --
Jason: If the judge happens to ask my opinion, Iím going to say that I think that joint custody is in the best interest of those kids, and you could say the same thing.
Carly: No, I canít. It is too risky. You know that Sonny is going to fight this until he wins and that I could lose my kids completely!
Jason: That's -- Carly, that's not going to happen!
Carly: Yes, it could! Sonny is trying to punish me! He is screaming, he's yelling, he is acting out in anger, and you have seen this for yourself!
Jason: You have to do what's best for the kids! You guys can't make this about hurting each other all the time!
Carly: I am going to do whatever it takes for me to keep my kids!
Carly: Ok, Jason, you know what? I did some -- some research after Sonny's last breakdown and I am pretty sure that he is manic-depressive. And if you do not testify on my behalf, then I am going to have to tell the court that he is mentally unstable.
Sonny: This whole thing's a setup. You give your territory to Faith so that way, you know, she'll start a fight with me. With any luck, Iíll die. You'll be clear.
Lorenzo: I don't want you dead. I want Carly to have those children.
Sonny: You know no judge is going to buy this, you know, "Iím getting out of the mob" thing. You're trying to get rid of me.
Lorenzo: You know, Faith is a big believer in violence. I think you're about to get caught in a war just as the custody hearing is about to begin. You retaliate; you look like a dangerous man. Choose to do nothing, you may lose your territory, and the courts will still see you as a target of violence. So you, my friend, are in a box. The only way out -- give up custody of those children. Otherwise, the courts will do it for you. And a war with Faith makes you look like what you are --an unfit father. So Michael and Morgan are going to Carly, just as I promised.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Carly: Tell the court that Michael and Morgan belong with me.
Jason: Don't ever ask me to choose between you and Sonny.
Justus: What if the judge decides you're both unfit? Who wins if the boys are taken away and placed in foster care?
Carly: You're going to tell the judge that the kids belong with me, right?
