(With the Port Charles Hotel on fire, Luke demands that they use a lottery system to organize who gets rescued by the helicopter first; Carly and Sonny fall through the hotel floor as it caves in; Emily is devastated to leave Nikolas behind in the burning building as she boards the helicopter.)
Ned: What the hell's going on? Can't the helicopter land on the roof yet?
Alan: How soon are people going to be evacuated?
Lucky: Well, the wind has been giving us problems.
Ned: Most of my family is up there! Do something!
Alan: Including Emily, and I know that she's hurt. We've got to get her down here!
Lucky: Unfortunately, we can only land one helicopter at a time, and it can only hold seven passengers. All right, that's it. I think the two of you can do the math.
Ric: Ok, hey, hey!
Andy: Can we have your attention, please?
Ric: Listen to me! We have to evacuate in an orderly fashion!
Luke: Hey! Life's a gamble, people! This proves it! Everybody's got one chance to save his or her life!

Ric: No, no, no, no, no.
Luke: This is going to be a lottery, folks. Everybody draws a number. Low goes first, high last. The only exceptions will be the badly injured and kids under 18 -- they take priority.
Faith: Who put you in charge?
Luke: This. This is my authority. You want to challenge it, step forward. I won't hesitate to put a bullet in anybody who causes trouble. And one more thing -- all drawings are final. No trading numbers, no selling them off. What you draw is when you leave, period! That all right with you?
Ric: It's a plan.
Sam: Do you realize this is completely insane?
Jax: Not as insane as sitting around waiting to die. At least this way we have a fighting chance.
Sam: Yeah, Jax, about one in 10 million.
Jax: Aren't you the one who said you hated being afraid and not being able to do anything about it?
Sam: Can you just not quote me back to myself right now, please, and tell me what the plan is?
Jax: Ok. This floor is almost fully engulfed in flames. I'm going to rappel down the outside of the building, reenter a couple floors down, and hopefully we'll find our way to the stairwell all the way down to the street. The only question is, do you want to jump on my back, or do you want to do this on your own?
Sam: No, no, no, you go, and I'll just follow, ok?
Jax: Have you-- have you got any climbing experience?
Sam: No, don't worry about me, please. I'm not afraid of heights. Just --
Jax: Listen -- whatever you do, do not look down.
Jax: Ok? Sam, get ready! I'm sending the harness back up!
Ric: Let's go. Easy. Easy.
Nikolas: I'm going to go pull my number, then I'll help you to the door, ok?
Emily: No, I -- I don't need to be on the first flight.
Nikolas: Emily, you're hurt. You're getting on that flight.
Emily: No, I'm not in danger of bleeding to death like Detective Beck. Besides, I don't want any special treatment, Nikolas. I'll just take a number like everyone else.
Nikolas: This more than qualifies as special treatment. You heard what Luke said. The badly injured and kids go. That includes you.
Emily: The helicopter will only take seven. I can wait, ok? If positions were reversed, I know that you would do the same thing, Nikolas.
Nikolas: No, I wouldn't.
Emily: I think that's the first time you've ever lied to me. Come on. We'll both draw numbers.
Nikolas: No. No. That is not acceptable, Emily. You're getting on this flight.
Emily: Open yours.
Nikolas: 34. We're on the same flight.
Emily: Well, we'll be together. That's special treatment enough for me.
Lucky: Dr. Quartermaine, I've got news. The first group of passengers are about to board the helicopter any minute.
Alan: I hope to God Emily and Monica are on it. Emily is hurt. Monica's a doctor.
Lucky: Ok, but I don't have a passenger list. It's up to the people in the Versailles room to determine who comes down when.
Ned: That could easily turn into survival of the fittest. I mean, how many people do you think up there are willing to kill to live?
Ric: This is Detective Beck! He needs to be on this flight!
Andy: He's been shot! He lost a lot of blood!
Man: Go ahead, but he'll be the last on this trip!
Ric: Thank you!
Man: We got four teenagers and two little ones already onboard!
Ric: That's ok! The people left in the Versailles room are all adults, and they've all chosen numbers!
Man: Were you told this chopper can only handle seven passengers at a time? We can't risk overloading in wind like this!
Ric: Yeah, we understand!
Man: All right, stand clear!
Sonny: Jason, do me a favor, will you? If you get out and I don't, make sure my sons never call that bastard "daddy."
Courtney: Carly, hey.
Carly: Hey. How are you? How -- how's Sonny?
Courtney: Well, he tore some ligaments in his knee. He's in pain, but he's holding up ok.
Carly: Do you know what number he got? I'm -- Iím 23, and I was hoping that he could fly out sooner so he could be with the boys no matter what happens.
Lorenzo: You're not going to die tonight, Carly. I can promise you that.
Courtney: Yeah. You know what? For once I agree with him. Listen, we're all going to get evacuated safely. Just try and think positive, ok?
Carly: What number did you get?
Courtney: I got 31. So it looks like Iím going to be in one of the last groups to go.
Carly: It's ok.
Luke: Congratulations. You just pulled number seven for the helicopter ride. I've been holding it for you.
Skye: "No trading numbers, no selling them off. The number you pick is when you leave." Do your own words have a familiar ring?
Luke: I don't follow rules, especially my own.
Skye: I think it's extremely chivalrous of you to offer, but I picked 19. I will go when they call that number.
Luke: I've always heard redheads were fiery and stubborn, full of life, passion. Tonight you proved it, Blaze.
Ric: All right, everyone, the helicopter's coming back. Those people holding numbers one through seven, get ready to board.
Ned: Dillon, Dillon --
Dillon: Oh, man, Ned.
Ned: Oh. Good to see you.
Dillon: You, too.
Ned: Good to see you. I was so worried about you.
Dillon: Well, believe me, it is not -- it's not fun up there.
Georgie: Oh, Lucky.
Lucky: Hey, are you ok?
Georgie: For the most part. I was terrified. I got off the helicopter, and I was -- I was shaking.
Lucky: Listen, I know this isn't easy, everything you've been going through, but do you have any idea how many people are still up in the Versailles room?
Dillon: Oh, hey, Ric Lansing told me to take a head count. He wanted me to pass it on.
Lucky: My dad, he made it up to -- he made it up to the room?
Dillon: Oh, yeah, he was awesome. He, like -- everybody started panicking, he just took charge. He probably stopped a riot or something.
Lucky: God, I was just hoping more people were going to get out. We got to at least make another five trips to get everybody down.
Dillon: Well, five is doable. Isn't it?
Skye: Luke! Luke!
Luke: Oh, way to show a little common sense! Come on, your seat's waiting!
Skye: No! I'm not going in your place! Luke, I just wanted to tell you that I -- I just -- I had to let you know that --
Man: Hey, buddy, you board now or we're taking off without you! Let's go!
Luke: Oh, Red --
Skye: It's ok. Luke, go. Go!
Luke: Whatever you were trying to say -- back at you.
Man: Let's go! Watch your head!
Tracy: Get in here! Would you just get me out of here?
Luke: Sorry, Tracy, something came up. Something important.
Ric: All right, next group, line up, please. Numbers eight through 14.
Helena: I have 11.
Faith: Well, looks like Iím leaving.
Justus: Have a safe trip.
Faith: I hope you make it, counselor. But if you die tonight, look on the bright side. Sooner or later, Iíll be joining you in hell.
Justus: What are you waiting for? Get out of here.
Edward: I own this building. I'm responsible for this. I should stay till the end, and I'm going to give Emily my ticket.
Justus: Luke was right. Trading numbers will only create confusion, which will lead to chaos. You need to set an example. Your number was called. Go.
Ric: Number eight? Who's holding number eight?
Courtney: Right here. Jason's number eight.
Andy: You can forget it. Morgan just shot a cop. There's no way you're taking up a seat on that chopper.
Sonny: We all agreed to abide by the lottery system. Whatever number you pull is the order you leave.
Andy: Standard procedure -- prisoners are evacuated last.
Justus: No warrant has been issued, no evidence presented.
Ric: Detective Beck made a positive I.D.
Justus: Detective Beck was semiconscious suffering from blood loss and smoke inhalation. That I.D. wonít hold up in court, and you know it.
Andy: It holds up here.
Justus: That badge doesn't give you the right to violate Mr. Morgan's civil rights.
Jason: Well, I'm not admitting to anything. But I'll agree to go last on one condition -- I get to give this number to my wife.
Georgie: Dillon -- Dillon --
Georgie: There's an ambulance waiting. We have to get checked out for smoke inhalation.
Dillon: I'm -- you know, I'm going to -- I'm going to stop by later. I just -- I just want to make sure that my mom's ok. You think I'm a wimp, don't you?
Georgie: No, no!
Dillon: Ok. Ok. Yes, the thing is my mom is like a totally rotten person, and -- and she was horrible to you, and she tried every -- every stunt in the book to try to break us up, but -- she's my mom.
Travis: The driver wants to leave.
Georgie: Wait a minute. Where's Sage?
Travis: Already on the van. We're just waiting for you two.
Dillon: I'll find my own way there, ok?
Travis: Whatever. Georgie?
Dillon: Oh, my God. Mom, I was worried you wouldn't make it.
Tracy: You better be careful. I'm going to start to think you like me.
Ned: You got out.
Tracy: Oh! It's going to take more than a fire to keep me away from my boys. Oh, my God, I love you both so much.
Elizabeth: Lucky --
Lucky: Elizabeth, what are you doing here? You should be at home.
Elizabeth: I'm waiting for Ric to be evacuated. When is that going to happen?
Lucky: Well, it depends on what number he drew. They all agreed to come down by a lottery system.
Elizabeth: All right.
Lucky: Hey --
Lucky: Dad --
Paramedic: Hey, got you.
Lucky: I'm glad to see you're all right; you're all in one piece.
Luke: Yeah, not even a broken bone.
Lucky: Yeah, I'm glad.
Luke: Oh. There's a whole lot of people up there. I hope they make it down.
Sam: Ok, Sam, you can do this. Not a problem. You can do a dive in subzero, freezing water, you can do this. Just remember, don't look down. Whatever you do, don't look down, please. Ok.
Sam: I wonít. Jax!
Jason: Make up your mind, Ric. Either I take my rightful place on this flight or Courtney does. Which one?
Ric: Fine. You go last. Courtney, you're number eight. Come on, let's go. You, come here.
Courtney: I don't want this.
Jason: Just -- just don't argue, ok? At least this way I know that you're safe.
Courtney: You have to promise me, Jason, that you're going to live through this. You have to promise me that no matter what it takes, you are going to walk out of here alive.
Jason: I promise.
Jason: Courtney, come on, you need to go.
Courtney: I love you. Ok, I'll see you soon.
Ric: Come on. Hurry. The chopper's waiting. Come on.
Emily: I feel for Courtney. It must be horrible to have to leave Jason behind. I feel so much better knowing that whatever happens, you and I are going to be together.
Andy: Hand over your sweatshirt and your gun.
Justus: What are you doing?
Andy: Collecting evidence.
Justus: You have no way of ensuring --
Ric: Capelli's right! We need the sweatshirt to check for traces of gunpowder against the bullet that shot Detective Beck!
Sonny: Come on, Ric.
Ric: Hand it over, Jason.
Justus: Go ahead. None of this will be admissible in court.
Ric: Don't worry about it, counselor. I'll make sure it gets entered into evidence when we're on the ground.
Andy: You're under arrest, Morgan.
Justus: Aren't you going too far, Capelli?
Andy: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
Sonny: Capelli, we're in a burning building. Where's he -- right to --
Andy: He's going to go down! Down! 20 floors to be exact and Iím taking him.
Ric: You're taking him?
Andy: Yeah. That'll eliminate the rescue chopper from making a final trip.
Ric: No, I'm sorry, Capelli. You work for the department. We don't want to lose you. It's unacceptable.
Andy: It's my job.
Sonny: Ric, this is murder! You know it is -- the kind you like the best, where you don't have to get your hands dirty!
Ric: Go ahead. Take him down and make sure both of you make it.
Carly: Ok, what the hell just happened? Why is Capelli taking Jason?
Sam: Oh, God.
Sam: Now, that was the most exhilarating, exciting thing that I think I have ever done in my entire life.
Jax: Don't get used to it. We still got to navigate our way through 14 floors of burning building. But we're a lot closer to surviving than we were before.
Bobbie: Take Detective Beck to Trauma Three.
Bobbie: Oh, Georgie. Oh, I'm so relieved you're ok. Your sister has been so worried about you.
Sage: Excuse me. Would it be possible to call someone at the fire scene to see if my uncle has been evacuated yet?
Bobbie: You know, my daughter and my brother are up there, too, and Iíve been in constant contact with a friend who's on the emergency team, and I promise I will call back as soon as I can. But right now I need all of you to stay right here in the waiting room till a doctor can examine you, ok? I'm so glad you're all right.
Georgie: Me, too.
Bobbie: Is he ok? How's he doing?
Doctor: Stable, but he's going to need immediate surgery to get that bullet out.
Bobbie: Detective Beck, you're going to need surgery.
Brian: I don't care about that. Courtney Morganís still in the hotel. I need to know that she's safe.
Courtney: Who's in charge here? Excuse me!
Mike: Courtney! Courtney!
Courtney: Dad! There --
Mike: Oh, baby. Baby, baby, I'm so glad to see you. Are you all right, honey? Are you ok?
Courtney: I'm ok. I'm ok. But -- but Jason and Sonny and Carly -- they're still stuck in the Versailles room. Daddy, I was supposed to be on the last flight out. Jason insisted that I -- I take his number. Now they're saying that they might not be able to land again.
Mike: It's ok, honey. It's ok.
Tracy: So, Daddy, we live to fight another day.
Alan: Father -- Father, I'm so glad that you're safe. Where are Emily and Monica?
Edward: They're still up there, Alan.
Alan: They're what?
Edward: You have no idea the level of panic that's going on up there, the -- the primal fear. There was nearly a riot, and we agreed that we would be evacuated by -- by a lottery. And we also agreed that we wouldn't trade numbers to avoid confusion.
Alan: I don't care what --
Edward: I had to set an example, Alan. I had no choice.
Luke: You had choices, Edward. You could've brought the electrical system up to code. You could've closed the damn hotel. Personally, I don't mind risking my life -- I kind of like the rush -- but you chose to let hundreds of people be sitting ducks in a substandard building. You had choices!
Edward: No --
Carly: Couldn't Justus stop Capelli from taking Jason?
Sonny: He tried. I'm -- Iím the one who should've thought of a way to stop it.
Justus: Mr. And Mrs. Corinthos are having a private conversation. Why don't you let them be?
Carly: What is the point of cuffing Jason and dragging him through a burning building except to gratify Capelliís ego?
Sonny: Ric would've stopped it.
Carly: Ric was probably enjoying the whole thing.
Sonny: You don't understand. I -- I insulted Ric, got him upset. That's why he let Capelli do it. It's my fault. If I hadn't lost my temper, a lot of things would be different.
Justus: There's no way they could've survived that fall. Sonny and Carly are dead.
Lorenzo: That's a lie. Carly's not dead.
Nikolas: Hey, you go and you lose your chance to be evacuated.
Lorenzo: I don't give a damn. I'm going to find Carly. She's alive.
Justus: Where are you going?
Ric: Sonny's my brother. I got to help him.
Justus: Sonny's dead. Think about it.
Ric: We don't know that!
Justus: You have a wife and a baby on the way. They need you. You don't have the right to risk your life anymore. Sonny wouldn't expect that from you.
Skye: The helicopter's landing. We have to go.
Nikolas: Oh -- ok. After this next group leaves, we'll go up on the roof. It'll be safer there, ok?
Jax: Oh --
Jax: Ah. I can't believe we made it.
Sam: We're alive.
Jax: Yes, we are. Yes, we are.
Maxie: Georgie -- oh, my God.
Georgie: Oh, my God.
Maxie: Thank God. I was so scared I lost you.
Georgie: Oh, I was so scared, too. But I'm fine, it's ok. I mean, you would not believe it, but Lorenzo Alcazar saved me. Dad is going to flip when he hears that. By the way, where is he? I thought he would've been at the hotel, but I didn't see him. Is he at the station?
Maxie: Georgie, you're going to have to be really strong, ok?
Georgie: Oh, my God. What happened to my dad?
Maxie: Mac's in the I.C.U. I was helping Zander hide in the basement of the hotel, and Mac somehow found out that he was hiding there. And when Mac went after him, he got caught in a back draft. He's burned really bad, Georgie, and it's all my fault.
Bobbie: We're going to take you upstairs and prep you for surgery.
Brian: What about Courtney?
Bobbie: I spoke to some friends who are on the emergency team just a few moments ago. Courtney made it down safely.
Brian: What about her husband?
Bobbie: Well, some people are still unaccounted for. My daughter is one of them. Jason's another.
Andy: That's far enough.
Jason: How'd I know this would happen?
Andy: Codes, Morgan. You have yours, we have ours. Cops have to stick together, and you shot one tonight, and I'm going to avenge him. Why bother with the expense and hassle of a trial only to watch you walk away yet again when Iím in prime position for making that happen.
Alan: Skye -- Skye -- oh, God, Iím so glad to see you. Are you all right?
Skye: Yeah. Just a little -- a little shaky, but I'm ok.
Alan: Do you know anything about Monica and Emily?
Skye: Yes. Yes, they are on the next flight. Emily -- Emilyís holding her own.
Ric: Officer -- see that forensics gets this right away.
Officer: I got it.
Ric: She's all right, she's all right.
Elizabeth: God, baby.
Ric: I'm all right. I love you so much.
Elizabeth: Oh, God, I love you, too.
Ric: I hope I did the right thing.
Elizabeth: Why? What happened? What -- what are you talking about?
Ric: Carly and -- the floor opened up, and Carly and Sonny just vanished.
Elizabeth: Oh --
Ric: Alcazar went after them, but I don't know. Maybe I should've, too.
Elizabeth: No. God, no, no. I'm glad you didnít.
Ric: Justus thinks they're dead.
Elizabeth: Honey, Iím sorry.
Ric: You know, the funny thing is, I've -- I've hated my brother most of my life.
Courtney: Justus! Justus, maybe I got my numbers confused, but I thought Sonny was supposed to be on that flight. Something happened. What?
Justus: Part of the floor where Sonny was standing fell through. He fell in.
Mike: Well, somebody went after him, right? They're -- they're going to get my son out.
Justus: Lorenzo Alcazar insisted on searching for them.
Justus: Carly and Sonny were together. I'm sorry. I don't see how they could've survived.
Sonny: Carly? Carly?
Sonny: Don't you die on me. Don't you die on me. You'll feel so confident underneath it all.
Skye: There you are.
Skye: Oh, God.
Luke: You made it!
Skye: I did!
Skye: Yeah. Look -- lucky number 19!
Luke: 19. I love that number. I'm going to be betting every cent I have on it every chance I get.
Skye: Listen -- what just happened up on the roof --
Luke: Oh, yeah, yeah, up on the roof. Listen, I got carried away, and you can just give me a good slap if you want.
Skye: Oh, that won't be necessary.
Luke: But -- but Iím not going to apologize for it.
Skye: No apology needed. So, anyway, I mean, now that, you know, we made it out and we're ok -- at least for the next five minutes, anyway --
Luke: Oh, the thing on the roof -- it never happened.
Skye: Yeah, I mean -- yeah, why -- why mess up a beautiful friendship, right?
Luke: Yeah, right. That's -- that's -- that's right. I got to tell you, though, for something that never happened -- Mm-hmm!
Skye: Me, too.
Luke: Great. Well, I've been to worse parties. The only thing that bugs me is that -- that treasure. Where is it? Who got away with the treasure?
Skye: Ugh -- listen to me. I will be so happy if I never hear about that miserable treasure ever again. Do you understand that?
Luke: Oh, I -- I hear you. I hear you.
Ned: Just got confirmation from the fire captain. The helicopter's about to land.
Alan: Oh, thank God Emily and Monica finally are going to be evacuated.
Edward: And as soon as they're down safely, we -- we can all go home.
Lucky: Sorry, old man, you're not going home. Mr. Edward Quartermaine, you're under arrest for criminal negligence in the hotel fire.
Justus: Wait a minute --
Ned: Justus, Justus, you got to put a stop --
Lucky: You have the right to remain silent --
Ned: You can't be arresting --
Edward: Oh! Oh!
Ned: You cannot arrest --
Lucky: Anything you say can and will be used against --
Alan: He's not faking it.
Lucky: Medic! We need a medic!
Alan: I need help over here! My father's having a heart attack!
Lucky: Get me a medic now!
Tracy: Daddy, daddy --
Alan: Get someone over here!
Courtney? Listen, I know that you're Sonny's sister. I need to know if he's been evacuated yet.
Courtney: No, he hasnít. Sonny and his wife died. They died together. Isn't this a sweet little picture -- the sick freak reunited with his clueless wife and unborn child.
Ric: I guess you heard about Sonny and Carly.
Courtney: Yeah, Sonny and Carly are dead, Jason is trapped, and here you are, Ric -- good old Ric who tormented all of us, you son of a -- damn it, you! I hate you!
Andy: You could have gone easy, Morgan -- a bullet to the head -- but now you're going to have to wait for the fire to get you.
Jason: How are you going to explain the cuffs?
Andy: You were too violent to move, had to be restrained, and then I left you in what I thought was a place of relative safety. Oops.
Jason: You're not going to get away with it.
Andy: I might have to deal with some questions, maybe an internal investigation. See, Lansing has no use for you, either. He'll cover for me. Well, been real, Morgan, but I have a helicopter to catch.
Lorenzo: Carly! Carly, where are you?
Sonny: Maybe it's better if you don't wake up. I don't think we're going to make it out of here.
Sonny: I don't want you to be afraid. I'd give my life if you were just home with the boys, taking care of them. I've never loved or hated anyone the way I loved and hated you. The way I hate and love you right now. Please wake up.
Sonny: Hey, hey.
Sonny: I'm right here. I'm right here.
Andy: Hold up! I'm claiming a seat on that chopper!
Emily: Where's my brother? You were supposed to be escorting Jason down!
Andy: Morgan became violent, tried to attack me! But I left him in an area where there was no fire!
Monica: You let my son burn in that building?
Man: The wind's picking up! We need to take off now!
Andy: I have a right to be on this flight! Besides, Iím a police officer!
Emily: I'll wait with you!
Man: I'm sorry, but there won't be another flight! With this wind picking up again, it's too dangerous to land!
Emily: Then Nikolas has to fly out with us!
Man: I can't allow that! Overcrowding this chopper in this wind could cause us to crash!
Nikolas: It's ok! I can make it down on my own!
Emily: No, no, no --
Nikolas: Don't argue with me!
Emily: No, no, no, no!
Nikolas: Don't argue with me! You're going on the flight!
Emily: We stay together -- we stay together like we promised!
Nikolas: You can't make it down the stairs, baby! You can't make it!
Monica: Emily -- Emily, we've got to go!
Emily: No, I don't want to leave you.
Nikolas: Please. I love you. I love you, and you have to do this for me. You have to do this for me.
Emily: I love you so much.
Nikolas: Get her out of here!
Man: Come on, ma'am! You got to go!
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Sonny: Get me to the elevator.
Lorenzo: All right, fine.
Courtney: Where's Jason?
Andy: Morgan won't be coming out.
Nikolas: Don't move.
Jason: You know how to use that thing?
Emily: Any word on Nikolas or Jason?
Ric: Fire captain's abandoning the search.
