Sam: You think I have the cards?
Jax: Well, cynic that I am, that thought crossed my mind.
Sam: Well, you're wrong. I don't have them, but I think I have an idea who does. You sneaky, low-life, double-crossing dog. You haven't changed a bit, have you? Using the dead man's hand to bargain your way into bed with me when you knew you didn't have them.
Chase: I wouldn't be all morally outraged if I were you. You were low-down and desperate enough to agree.
Jax: Okay, you know what? This little insight into your relationship's fascinating, but the timing's a little off, so who's got the cards?
Georgie: I know you like Luke and you think he's really cool, but he's also in it for himself. And the threat from your mom -- it's here now, directly affecting us. Dillon, every time I think about you going away to some military academy hundreds of miles away, I want to die.
Dillon: Okay. Yeah, you're right. I feel the same way. You know what? I'm not going to lose you. I don't care what it takes. My mom it is.
Georgie: Then it's settled.
Dillon: All right.
Georgie: All right, let's go.
Jax: Not by a long shot.
Emily: God, I can hardly believe that we're finally free to kiss on the pier.
Nikolas: Or any other place we want, for that matter.
Nikolas: And it's just the beginning. Mmm. Ah. My ship came in.
Nikolas: Literally. It's going to make me a lot of money. Not only enough to clear the debt but to pay Jason back what he loaned me for the interest payments.
Nikolas: That money's the only thing standing between Alcazar's thugs and me, you know?
Emily: Yeah. How long do you think it'll take to pay back the loan?
Man: Too long.
Emily: Who are you? Leave him alone. Leave him alone.
Man: Shh. Isn't that right, used-to-be rich boy?
Nikolas: I think there's a little misunderstanding here. I assume you're here about the loan. Yeah? Well, I made the last interest payment ahead of schedule.
Man: Jason Morganís money's no good anymore.
Nikolas: Since when?
Zander: Look, Faith, I'm telling you for your sake, this is a bad idea. Someone is bound to tell Sonny that you just rolled into Carly's club like you own the place.
Faith: Maybe I do.
Zander: He's going to come gunning for you in about five minutes.
Faith: Oh, my. We wouldn't want that, now, would we?
Zander: I don't advise it.
Faith: Hmm. Big, scary Sonny and his goons are going to come storming in the place with their big, scary weapons. So if we're going to be here anyway, we should do the smart thing and find some darkened corner to sit quietly and not draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves? Is that what you're thinking? Oops.
Courtney: Oh, my God. Oh, I've missed you.
Jason: I miss you, too.
Courtney: Oh, my God, I hate this, Jason. I hate this -- not falling asleep in your arms every night, you being so angry at me.
Jason: You know I love you. And I can't -- I can't turn that off, no matter how angry I get.
Courtney: I hope you never do.
Jason: This is -- this is wrong, living apart like this.
Courtney: I know. It's awful.
Jason: Then pack up the kids and come home. We can leave right away.
Courtney: No, I can't do that.
Brian: That Jason Morgan.
Officer: Hot on somebody's trail, Sheriff?
Brian: Just surfing. Checking out to see what else is going on in the world.
Lorenzo: You're so strong, Carly. You may be the strongest person I know. You're going to have to call on that. You left a lot behind in this world. Start fighting to get it back.
Lorenzo: Where have you been?
Carly: I was just about to ask you the same thing. Your assistant called, said that you didn't show up for work.
Lorenzo: Mm-hmm. What did you tell her?
Carly: Well, I pretended the cell phone went out of range, and I hung up so I could find you and get an answer. Is that it?
Lorenzo: No. It has a name. It is out on the street getting away with literal murder when he's not stalking my wife!
Carly: Oh, forget Sonny.
Lorenzo: How can I when he always comes between us?
Carly: You could stop putting him there.
Lorenzo: He goes out of his way to run into you, buy you expensive presents.
Carly: Yeah? So what, Lorenzo?
Lorenzo: And whether you admit it not, he is making inroads.
Carly: That is not true.
Lorenzo: You know, calling off that hit was a mistake.
Carly: Do you have any idea how insulting it is when you leave me out of the equation? Like it's some sort of spitting contest between you and Sonny and I'm extraneous? As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that should matter is what I want. And that is you and our life together! And this baby, which we conceived in love, which is about to make some grand, howling entrance in a couple of weeks. We should not be fighting, Lorenzo, especially now, especially over someone that does not matter.
Lorenzo: You haven't answered my question.
Carly: Where was I? I was planning an evening for us together so we could have some fun, like we used to. I made a reservation at the cellar. I thought we could have dinner; we could go out dancing, maybe.
Lorenzo: I have papers to correct.
Carly: No, you have a life that you need to live with me. I have an appointment with Dr. Meadows first. I will meet you afterwards, okay? Please, Lorenzo, I need this.
Lorenzo: When have I ever refused you?
Carly: Thank you. I love you.
Lorenzo: I love you, too.
Jax: I'd like to keep this exchange civil, handle it like gentlemen.
Dillon: As opposed to what, beating me up and taking the cards, anyway?
Jax: I'm sure it won't come to that. I'm willing to offer you $5 million for the cards.
Dillon: Listen, you don't understand. My mom, okay, she's not going to kill me. She's going to make me wish I were dead.
Jax: Any idea why Tracy wants those cards?
Dillon: No. I don't know. I don't care. I didn't ask, okay? But the thing with my mom is, she wants something, that's all that matters. And you know what? She usually gets it.
Georgie: Can I ask you a question?
Jax: Of course.
Georgie: Why are the cards so important to you?
Jax: They belong to my father. He's near death as we speak. Now, I might not share his belief that five antique playing cards hold some kind of miracle cure, but my father is convinced of that and I promised him that I would get the cards at any cost.
Dillon: Wow. I'm really not impressed, if that's the best story the both of you could come up with.
Jax: I'm sorry?
Dillon: That's the same story the chick in my bedroom told me the other night.
Jax: What -- what chick would that be?
Jax: Don't you have any shame at all?
Faith: What's the matter? Can't you people take a joke?
Zander: Faith, what the hell's wrong with you? Do you have some kind of death wish or something?
Faith: You know what? You give Sonny far too much credit, but that's okay. You'll learn. Can I get you something?
Zander: Yeah, how about out of here before Sonny makes your death wish come true.
Faith: Okay, ground rules. First, stop whining about Sonny. It bores me, and you really, really don't want to do that. Secondly, if you are going to run with me, we're going to have to do a little bit with this attire, you know what I mean? This whole rebel without a cause thing -- painfully passť.
Zander: I'm so flattered.
Faith: The good news is I see potential I can work with. And that will do for now. Except for one essential accessory. Moment of truth, Zander. Are you in or are you out?
Courtney: So, did Sonny send you? Decide that he wasn't happy about the move after all?
Jason: I -- I came on my own to see you.
Courtney: And to try and talk me into coming back home with you.
Courtney: Yeah, I missed you more than you can imagine.
Jason: Come home with me. Just come home. We can work out the rest.
Courtney: Jason, that isn't possible. It's not, because the violence -- it just -- it doesn't end. I can't take those two children back until Carly wakes up and decides for herself. Did -- did you look around when you were driving up here? I mean, Jason, it's beautiful. It's quiet and green. We have a huge backyard with old shade trees. But most importantly, it's safe. I'm doing what Carly would want.
Jason: I know --
Courtney: I know it.
Jason: I know you want to believe that.
Courtney: Well, there is another solution.
Courtney: You can come here and move in with us.
Jason: Courtney, come on. You know I can't. You know that I got to stay -- I got to stay in Port Charles and keep Sonny's business running.
Courtney: Why, why? Why is that your responsibility? Sonny is quitting. He said he's not going back.
Jason: Sonny's decision isn't mine. You know, I tried to explain that to you the night that you left. You know, I'm not like other people. Maybe it was the accident, maybe it wasnít. Maybe that's just how I am, but I can't turn 180 degrees and make my life into something it isn't. I tried that once, and I ended up right back where I started.
Courtney: So you're just going to dedicate the rest of your life to Sonny's organization when he doesn't even want it.
Jason: Hey, you know, Sonny might change his mind, okay? And in the meantime, I have -- I have made choices, and I've taken on responsibilities that I can't go back on.
Courtney: Okay, so then I guess that all the promises that you made to me on our wedding day didn't mean anything.
Brian: I hope I didn't follow a wrong impulse, but I was on my way home and -- sorry. Wrong impulse. I didn't know you had company.
Courtney: No, it's fine, really. Come in.
Brian: Are you sure?
Courtney: Yeah, absolutely come in.
Courtney: Brian, this is Jason, my husband. Jason, this is Sheriff Brian Beck.
Sam: Okay, so it wasn't one of my more shining moments, but I was desperate to get the cards. You had a sympathetic story going about your father, and it was certainly better than anything I could come up with in the moment.
Georgie: What happened? Math tutor got old?
Sam: Well, it worked, didn't it?
Jax: You know what, Sam? I don't care why you lie. I got more pressing matters. I will handle Tracy. I'll offer her enough money to make her forget all about the cards, and I will talk to her about sending you away.
Dillon: You going to weigh in on this?
Georgie: Oh -- I have to admit, after listening to Jax and considering that his father is sick, our reasons for keeping the cards are a little shallow.
Jax: You won't regret this. Now I got to get going.
Dillon: Am I, like, the biggest idiot ever?
Georgie: You are a genius, and I love you.
Sam: Wait, Jax, wait. I want to come with you.
Sam: I want to be with you. Okay? Is that what you want to hear?
Jax: No, no, that's not what I want to hear.
Sam: So that kiss meant nothing?
Jax: That kiss was about as phony as this little act of yours. You know, if you hurry, maybe you can catch the next shuttle with your ex-boyfriend.
Brian: Pleased to meet you.
Jason: Yeah. You, too.
Courtney: You know, Brian isn't just the sheriff. He is also the local handyman.
Jason: Is that so?
Brian: Yeah, I like to keep busy. So, what line of work are you in?
Jason: Import/export over in Port Charles.
Brian: Wow, I hear that's a busy harbor.
Courtney: So, Brian, what -- what brings you by?
Brian: Oh. I -- I wanted you to have this on hand. The plumbing in this house could use some upkeep, so if there's ever a busted pipe and I'm not immediately available, you'd be able to shut off the water at the back porch valve.
Courtney: Well, that was very thoughtful of you. Thank you. Would you like some coffee or pie? Coffee and pie?
Brian: Yeah, if it wouldn't be too much trouble.
Courtney: No, it's no trouble at all.
Jason: I wouldn't think a nice, peaceful town like this would exactly keep the law enforcement jumping.
Courtney: Yeah, it's pretty slow most of the time. I had plans of getting out of here once.
Jason: Yeah? Where to?
Brian: Washington. Yeah, big city life and the F.B.I. But my father was a sheriff here, his father before him, so I picked up the torch.
Courtney: Well, your dad must be real proud.
Brian: I -- I imagine he would be if he were still alive. He was shot a few years back. Had all the earmarks of a mob hit.
Lorenzo: Next time do what I pay you for and handle it. I've got better things to do with my time than manage your traffic.
Nikolas: What happened to our arrangement?
Lorenzo: Can I help you?
Nikolas: I just got dunned by a couple of your goon collectors. You were fine with me making payments on the loan until I got my family's businesses back on track. What happened?
Lorenzo: That is not my concern anymore. I sold the Cassadine debt.
Emily: You sold it?
Nikolas: Sold it? What do you mean, you sold it?
Lorenzo: Don't sound so shocked.
Emily: Did it occur to you to maybe give Nikolas advanced warning?
Lorenzo: Frankly, no. It's a business transaction. I was approached by someone who had the cash. I took it. It would have been foolish not to.
Nikolas: We're talking about a substantial amount of money here.
Lorenzo: And someone was willing to pay it to have leverage over you.
Faith: Oh, look who's here. Predictable, as always.
Sonny: Heard you were having a party.
Faith: The more, the merrier.
Sonny: Yeah, well, I brought a few of my friends, just in case you guys -- Vic, Vic, Vic, Vic, Vic. Get back, get back. There's no need for that, Zander. So you pulled off a pretty big coup the other night, wasting the heads of the five families. Don't you think, you know, trying to mess around with Carly's club is a little juvenile?
Faith: Don't sweat it. My insurance will cover any damage I choose to inflict. Because, you see, this isn't Carly's club anymore. It's mine.
Lorenzo: Thank you. Oh, that's great. Mmm. Excuse me.
Sonny: Those for Carly? Beautiful -- beautiful roses. I suppose that's the best you can do on a professor's salary. But, hey, you know, it's the thought that counts.
Lorenzo: I don't fear you, Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny: Well, that's a miscalculation there.
Lorenzo: What kind of man are you, hounding a married woman with a baby on the way?
Sonny: Carly's wasted on you.
Lorenzo: But she's mine, and I intend to keep it that way. Now, move aside. My wife is waiting.
Sonny: I know, and you're not going to make it.
Carly: I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up.
Sonny: I wouldn't have missed tonight for anything.
Carly: Okay, I should call home.
Sonny: It kind of looks like your husband stood you up.
Carly: No, he wouldn't do that. Especially with you on the prowl.
Sonny: Why do I matter?
Carly: Well, because my husband has this crazy idea that you're some sort of threat to our marriage, and that's obviously not the case.
Sonny: Mm-hmm. Prove it.
Carly: What, to Lorenzo?
Sonny: No, no, no. To yourself.
Carly: God, you're really arrogant.
Sonny: Okay, then stick a pin in my ego, cut me down to size, and prove to me that I have no chance with you.
Sonny: Well, I mean --
Sonny: Dance with me. Unless you -- unless, maybe, that's too close for comfort.
Carly: Oh, God, not only arrogant --
Carly: You're delusional, too. Okay, fine, fine.
Sonny: Are you sure?
Carly: Yeah, let's dance.
Sonny: All right. I mean, you know --
Carly: Mm-hmm. Come on.
Sonny: All right.
Carly: See, you have no effect on me whatsoever.
Sonny: Well, I guess your husband's got nothing to worry about, then, huh?
Carly: Like I told him. Just like I told you.
Sonny: Then I guess it wouldn't be -- wouldn't be that big of a deal if -- I don't know -- you know, like you give me just a little bit of a kiss, you know?
Carly: Why would I do that?
Sonny: Well, I -- not -- not -- it's just for, like, experimental purposes, you know, like your lips together, your lips apart. I mean, it'd be over in the blink of an eye. I mean, you know. It -- if there's no threat, there's -- there's no harm. But, you know, whatever you -- I don't know if you want to or not.
Sonny: You know what the problem is? Ahem -- you know all those hair products that you use? They fried your brain. Try to follow this, all right? The Cellar and Kellyís are all part of the same Spencer-owned building. Carly leased the club from Bobbie and Luke, so there's no way in hell --
Sonny: You can get your hands on this place.
Faith: Wrong again. It's about time.
Man: No sudden moves by anybody.
Second man: You want us to search these guys?
Sonny: We don't have a gun. It's all good.
Faith: Won't be necessary. See, Sonny has an aversion to guns ever since he shot his wife. But if he moves at all -- if he sneezes, shoot to kill. Now, you try to follow. See, I've done my homework. The Cellar and the rinky-dink diner above it have split deeds, you see, so Bobbie never had the right to rent it to anyone. It wasn't hers in the first place.
Sonny: Well, see, that's a lie because I know for a fact that Ric did a thorough title search, so what are you trying to do to me here?
Faith: It wasn't thorough enough. See, this place originally belonged to my grandmother, which means that now it belongs to me. And I don't really know what you're worrying about because I hear that if Carly wakes up from her coma, she will have all the cognizance of a carrot.
Sonny: I know what you're trying to do. It's not going to work.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. You're trying to bait me into, you know, starting another cycle of violence and wars. And you know what? If you want this place this that bad, you can have it. I'll just buy Carly another club. And then you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to buy Kellyís from Bobbie, and I'm going to have it come down crashing on your big hair.
Faith: Mm-hmm? With what? The proceeds from your "regular or decaf" empire?
Sonny: All right, I'm leaving now. So if you want your men to shoot me in the back, go ahead. Come on, guys.
Zander: You got some nerve.
Faith: Thanks for noticing.
Zander: So Sonny's out of business?
Faith: So he says.
Zander: Do you believe him?
Faith: Yeah, I do. Being responsible for putting a bullet in his wife's brain has taken all the fight out of him. Sonny isn't a player anymore.
Zander: What about Jason?
Brian: Some local lowlifes got wind of an armored car routed through Port Charles. They jacked it, killed the drivers, and hid out somewhere on the south side of town. Dad picked up on some suspicious activity, started doing what cops do. I guess he asked too many questions, got too close, because he was found dead one morning in his own bed.
Courtney: What about the suspects?
Brian: Found dead as well.
Jason: How about the cash?
Brian: Gone. So I left D.C. to come home for the funeral and I've been here ever since. Took over as sheriff. I promised my dead father that whatever lead to his death would never touch this town again.
Brian: One second. I got to take this.
Courtney: Wow. What a story.
Jason: He had a reason for bringing it up.
Courtney: What do you mean?
Jason: Did you tell Brian who I am?
Jax: Mom, it's Jax. Hello? Mom, can you hear me? I know, I know. I'm driving through the desert. The reception's not very good. But listen -- listen, I've got good news, okay? Tell Dad that I have the cards. Hello? Mom, did you get that? Listen, I have the cards, okay? Mom? Damn it.
Sam: Ow. Oh.
Sam: Are we there yet?
Courtney: I -- I didn't even mention your name to Brian. The first time he heard it was when I introduced you.
Jason: I trust my instincts, okay, and they're telling me that Brian knows who I am and what I do.
Courtney: I don't even know where you would get that from.
Jason: The way he -- the way he looked at me and how fast he was to accept your invitation to coffee. Come on.
Courtney: Jason, come on, not everybody outside of your world has ulterior motives.
Courtney: I got to go get the baby.
Brian: Duty calls. Tell Courtney I said thanks for the java.
Jason: No trouble, I hope?
Brian: No, nothing major. Just some kids blowing off some steam, but I have to go.
Jason: And while you're gone, you'll run a make on my car -- if you haven't already.
Brian: That wouldn't be necessary.
Jason: No, I don't imagine it would since you already know who I am.
Lorenzo: You are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. So peaceful, serene, like you just drifted off to sleep. Doesn't surprise me that Sonny gave up his business for you. What man wouldn't do whatever it takes to have you, Carly?
Sonny: Did you get ahold of him?
Carly: No, there's no answer. I -- I don't -- I don't understand where he could be. Wow. What time is it? The whole place cleared out. No one's here. Everybody's gone.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. Well, that's just because I paid the manager to close it up, you know. We got the place till -- till the sun comes up.
Carly: What makes you think that I want to stay here with you?
Sonny: Well, just -- just, you know, just like an hour or two.
Carly: It's late.
Sonny: Well, it's not any later than it would have been if your husband had, you know, bothered to show up. But, I mean, you know what? Deed's done, you know? Why don't we just have fun, right, and whatever. And -- unless, you know, you're afraid.
Sonny: Well, I don't know. Maybe I'm getting to you a little bit.
Carly: In your dreams.
Sonny: Then, what's the problem?
Sonny: Whoa --
Sonny: Hey, hey, you all right?
Carly: Ow. Oh --
Sonny: What's the problem?
Carly: It's the baby.
Sonny: The baby? I'm going to go -- okay, I'll come somebody.
Carly: Oh, no, no, no --
Sonny: What, what?
Carly: No, no, no, no -- the baby's coming. It's coming now.
Sonny: What do you mean? Right here and now?
Carly: Yeah. You're going to have to help me deliver this baby.
Sonny: Uh --
[Monitor beeps faster]
Sonny: What'd you do to her?
Nikolas: I understand you bought my family's loan from Lorenzo Alcazar.
Faith: That I did. Your uncle got in a little over his pompadour, didn't he?
Nikolas: I'd like to work out some sort of arrangement, if I may.
Faith: Fine. I wouldn't be adverse to that.
Nikolas: What are your terms?
Faith: Well, let's see. I need something. Oh -- oh, I know. How about that nice shiny new boat that you just brought into the harbor?
Nikolas: You want me to give you my ship?
Faith: No. No, no, no. See, I just want to use it. All you have to do is turn your back every once in a while while I piggyback a shipment.
Nikolas: Forget it.
Faith: Well, I strongly advise you to reconsider.
Nikolas: I don't do drugs, Faith, in any way, shape, or fashion.
Faith: Oh, dear. That's unfortunate. See, because you're forcing me to use my secret weapon.
Sam: So I suppose you're going to say that if I hadn't been in the car, you wouldn't have hit all three potholes, of course, right?
Jax: Well, there doesn't seem to be any permanent damage. That's a good thing out here.
Sam: That is exactly why I should be with you. In case you've forgotten, Jax, I am a very resourceful woman.
Jax: Well, you're going to need that little trade when I leave you out here all by yourself in the desert.
Sam: You're going to leave me out here in the middle of nowhere?
Jax: It's not exactly in the middle of nowhere. There's a casino right up there. You can hitch a ride. You know, you can gamble all night and do what you do best.
Sam: Okay. I'll be off, then. It's been real.
Jax: Wow. Hold on. Hold -- hold it just a second.
Jax: You don't give up this easily. Wait right there. Don't move.
Jax: That cynical streak again. I had to make sure that you didn't appropriate the cards while I had my back turned.
Sam: Would I do that?
Jax: In a heartbeat. Good luck.
Sam: You know, tough guy, if you need some help here, I'm sure I could --
Jax: You know what? Just -- just back away from the car, okay? This is your bad luck at work. Just back away.
Jax: Damn it.
Sam: There are plenty of phones at the casino. Come on. Come on, what are you going to do, sit out here? Let's go. And while we're waiting for a tow, we could see just how lucky those cards are.
Emily: Zander, what are you doing?
Zander: It's not yours to worry about.
Faith: That's right, Emmy. You can't have all the hunky boy toys in town. Zander's mine now.
Nikolas: Forget it, Faith. You're not using my ship for drugs. Let's go, Em.
Nikolas: Hey, get off me.
Emily: All right, let him go.
Nikolas: Get your hands off of her.
Emily: Leave him alone, Faith!
Faith: The girl can go.
Emily: What --
Faith: He stays. I am sick of being treated like something that has to be wiped off the collective shoes of the town. It is going to stop now with you. Give Mr. Cassadine a sorely needed lesson in respect.
Brian: When I was here doing repairs, Michael mentioned your name. Rang a bell, so I punched it up on the computer, and there you were -- Sonny Corinthos' right-hand man. The rap sheet as thick as the local phone book. You and your boss have been running Port Charles for a long time.
Jason: I live there.
Brian: You do a lot more than that. This is a quiet town, and I work really hard to keep it that way, so I want to be perfectly clear. The last thing I want or intend to allow in this town is trouble from your kind.
Sonny: This isn't good.
Lorenzo: This is exactly what the doctor wanted.
Sonny: I don't care what the doctor wanted. I need you to get out of here.
Lorenzo: No, Carly could be having a breakthrough finally --
Sonny: I need you --
Sonny: Out of here.
Sonny: You hang on. You're going to be -- you're going to be all right.
Carly: I can't!
Sonny: Yes, you can. Just push. The baby -- I see the baby!
Carly: Ow! Ow!
Sonny: Just breathe. Breathe. Breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe.
Sonny: There you go.
Carly: Okay, you listen to me. Listen to me. If there is a choice that needs to be made --
Sonny: Just breathe.
Carly: Between me and the baby, you've got to choose the baby.
Sonny: I can't -- I don't know if I can do -- breathe. Come on, come on!
Carly: Listen, this baby is a gift --
Sonny: I can see the head!
Carly: For me and my husband.
Sonny: It's coming out!
Carly: Promise me!
Sonny: It's coming out! I can't do that! Let's go! Let's go! You're going to make it! You're going to make it! Go -- keep going. Keep going. It's right there. Now!
Sonny: Carly? Carly. Carly? My God.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Georgie: I want our first time to be something you never forget.
Jason: You and the kids are leaving right now.
Nikolas: What are you waiting for?
Sonny: Get a doctor. Carly's waking up.
Sam: Be on the runway any minute.
