Coleman: It's a very interesting choice of cocktail. I guess I never pegged you as a Cuba Libre woman.
Chase: She is when she's with me.
Coleman: Hey, man.
Sam: I was beginning to think you weren't going to show.
Chase: I almost didn’t.
Sam: Listen, Chase, I have to apologize for that caveman act of Jax. He was so over the top and he just goes --
Chase: And you liked it.
Sam: What I liked was being with you again. And I was thinking maybe we could go back to your room and --
Jax: Sam wants those cards and so do I. What do you want, Chase? One exciting night with your girlfriend or enough money to buy excitement for the rest of your life?
Georgie: Dillon, this is a bad idea. There's got to be a better way to stay out of military school.
Dillon: Look, look, Luke is smart, okay? If he wants something to happen, he's going to make it happen.
Luke: I don't suppose one of you's got a law degree.
Dillon: We just need your advice. It'll take a few seconds, I promise.
Luke: Okay, it's a slow day on cellblock six. Let's go.
Officer: Hey! One at a time.
Georgie: Go ahead.
Luke: So, what's up? Military school again?
Dillon: Yeah, well, if I don't get those cards, I'm on my way.
Luke: If you'd have given me those cards when I asked for them, I'd be in Tangiers right now, reloading my hookah pipe, so, you tell me why I should give you the time of day.
Dillon: Stefan Cassadine's funeral. I dressed in drag for you so you could have a decoy. You said you owed me for that. And besides that, you're not going to do anything with the cards in here, you know, but they can still save my life -- kind of -- in a way.
Luke: All right, what the hell. I may have a couple of ideas about where they are.
Scott: Your Honor, permission to treat Mr. Ashton as a hostile witness.
Ned: I won't testify against Alexis.
Scott: Well, then, you'll be held in contempt in court.
Ned: I'm withdrawing charges.
Scott: Your Honor, I have enough evidence to put her away!
Skye: Ned, don't let Alexis manipulate you!
[Judge pounds gavel]
Judge: Order in the court! And since the victim refuses to testify, to continue would be pointless. This case is dismissed. Ms. Davis is free to go.
Dara: Looks like it's your lucky day.
Skye: You won't get away with this, you hear me? You don't deserve Kristina.
Courtney: Okay, sweetie, go upstairs with your brother, all right? Don't move and stay low.
Brian: Ooh! Hold it right there!
Brian: You pack quite a punch.
Courtney: So, what, you're the sheriff, too?
Brian: I'm also the notary and I fill in as Santa at the school Christmas show.
Courtney: Okay, so, how's your police training?
Brian: You called 911.
Courtney: Yeah, I heard gunfire in my backyard.
Brian: Okay, it's deer hunting season. What you probably heard was the echo of buckshots in the woods behind your yards.
Courtney: Hunters don't use automatic weapons. I heard a series of shots.
Brian: Well, I'll check it out.
Courtney: Wait -- well, you can't just go out there without any backup.
Brian: My deputy's not available.
Courtney: All right, fine, I'll -- I'll cover you.
Brian: I know what's going on here. You've got all the signs, if you don't mind my saying so.
Courtney: Signs of what?
Brian: I'm guessing you come from a family of cops.
Sonny: You want to help Carly? Like you helped my sister when you kidnapped her? Like you helped Carly when you flew her down to South America and held her hostage?
Lorenzo: Yes, Sonny Corinthos. He's obsessed with my wife. I've told him to leave her alone, but he won’t. Look, Luis, I need to have him -- Gracias, Luis.
Carly: What are you doing? Huh? You just called your brother to ask him to kill Sonny, didn't you?
Lorenzo: Corinthos is dangerous.
Carly: He hasn't done anything wrong.
Lorenzo: He will because he wants you.
Carly: I don't want him.
Lorenzo: It doesn't matter. I have to get rid of him before he gets rid of me.
Lorenzo: I helped Carly give birth. You came in and shot us both. She's in a coma because you pulled that trigger.
Sonny: Get out of here.
Lorenzo: I'm not leaving Carly.
Tony: There are some new developments in Carly’s condition.
Sonny: Jason, get him out of here.
Jason: Let's go.
Tony: Actually, Mr. Alcazar should hear this.
Georgie: How'd it go?
Dillon: Luke and I have an understanding.
Georgie: Well, does that understanding have anything to do with guns, explosions, or wearing a dress?
Dillon: Not so far.
Skye: Ned -- how can pleasing Alexis mean more to you than the happiness and security of your own child?
Ned: I didn't do this for Alexis.
Skye: Did you apologize to Alexis for my outburst? Huh? Did you? Or maybe you promised to build her a new wing on the Quartermaine mansion. Or maybe you just threw in on the chance and you asked her to marry you again -- not that she would accept. No, she probably would. She probably wouldn't go through with it. I really think it amuses her to watch you grovel.
Ned: Skye, please, just give it a rest.
Skye: You're a fool, Ned! You had custody in your hands. We could've been a family! But, no, you chose to just throw it all away so Alexis could trample you again.
Ned: I did this for Kristina.
Skye: Well, you know what? I happen to love Kristina, too. I do. And maybe, just maybe, you could've given me a little warning about your little change of heart, instead of letting me sit there and get hit by a two-by-four!
Ned: You want me to cut Alexis out of Kristina’s life. I can't do that! I can't do it. Okay, she is her mother.
Ned: Okay? And this child needs to be loved by her mother.
Skye: Her mother is a sociopath!
Ned: Enough. Skye, enough. Just stop it right now.
Skye: You know something, Ned? I don't even know you anymore. I don't -- that man that I was falling in love with -- that man was kind and wonderful and never would've stabbed me in the back, let alone betray his own child.
Ned: I don't suppose you're interested in knowing why -- why I dropped the charges.
Skye: Oh, please. I've heard how you rationalized it, but you know what? I don't buy it for a second. The fact is you still love Alexis, and you will do anything to please her, including betray your own child. That's fine, Ned. It's pretty clear where I stand. You're making that really clear. You -- you want me out of your life, and you want me out of Kristina’s --
Skye: And -- no, it's -- listen to me. It's breaking my heart, but I will get over it because I've done it before, okay? But the one who's going to be hurt here is Kristina. What defenses does that little girl have against that maniac that you're putting her in the hands of, hmm? In the name of what? Maternal instinct? I guess in the end, Kristina’s happiness and security don't mean a thing, do they? Because really, all she is, is just Alexis' property.
Ned: I made the only choice I could make. And if you can't or won't understand that, there is nothing left for me to say.
Dara: You're free to go. Congratulations.
Cameron: Thanks, Dara. Well, Ned's just full of surprises, isn't he?
Cameron: I got to take this.
Ned: Alexis? I need to speak with you.
Alexis: Thank you.
Ned: You're welcome.
Alexis: I appreciate what you did, Ned. But in light of everything that's gone on between us, I have to ask you if there's something that you want in return.
Brian: Illegal fireworks, set off by Hayes' Landing's version of a street gang -- the Collingswood boys, ages 12 and 14.
Courtney: Oh, great. Well, I guess I overreacted. You know, Michael handled the whole thing better than I did. He's playing a video game. Morgan's asleep. I'm the only paranoid wacko.
Brian: Well, fireworks do sound like gunfire.
Courtney: And they also sound like fireworks.
Brian: So, am I right? Is your family involved in law enforcement?
Courtney: Not exactly. Ahem.
Brian: Sorry. I'm getting personal.
Courtney: It's just -- I'm trying to move on, you know, and it's easier if I don't talk about the past. At least for now.
Brian: I know what you mean. You think you got things pretty well figured out, and then one day, bottom drops out and leaves a hole in your life. Stuff happens, right?
Courtney: Yeah, well, the best thing that you can do is to move on. Huh. Oh, well, you -- you know what? You fixed my railing, you saved me from a street gang all in one afternoon. The least I could do is offer you a cup of coffee?
Brian: That'd be great.
Jason: How many times have I asked you to listen to me? I hope you can hear me now. Our lives have stopped without you, Carly. Sonny can't do anything but stay here, stay close to you, waiting and praying that you'll wake up, and he should, but he's at this place, Carly, where he doesn't care what happens to him. Michael and Morgan need their mother. Courtney took them away to a place that she thinks is safe, and she's not going to bring them back until you wake up. You know, I'm trying to hold everything together here, and it's no good. And I miss you. I need you back.
Sonny: You just spent the last 10 minutes wasting my time using long, scientific words, trying to explain that you don't know why this is happening. You don't know if it's a good sign -- what if Carly doesn't get better? That's not what you told me yesterday, Tony.
Tony: Carly is responding on some level.
Sonny: What if she's hearing what we say? What if she's responding to her dreams?
Lorenzo: The point is Carly’s heart rate --
Sonny: No, the point is I don't want this man stalking my wife. If you want to do it in a medical way, Tony, then you go ahead and do it. Otherwise, I'm going to sit by my wife. I'm going to hold her hand. I'm going to talk to her.
Tony: You can do more. You can let Mr. Alcazar visit with Carly. Because the monitors indicate that she responds to his voice.
Jax: You see, Sam will say just about anything to get her hands on the cards.
Sam: I was being honest with Chase.
Chase: You'll stick to our deal?
Jax: I'll give you $1 million for the cards.
Sam: I have been with other men, but no one has quite measured up.
Jax: 1.25 million.
Sam: And here you are, back in my life again.
Jax: $2 million.
Sam: What? Come on, what do you mean, sold?
Jax: "Sold," you know, as in the cards now belong to me.
Sam: Oh, okay, and that's it? The money's all you care about?
Chase: I also care about my skull, which you were intending to bash in at the hotel.
Sam: What are you talking about?
Chase: Well, I've heard of mints on the pillow, but a marble statue under it? Shame on you, Sammy. No, the least I can do is accept Mr. Jacks' offer, considering he stormed in just in time to save me from a killer hangover.
Jax: Yes, yes, shame on you, Sammy. Hand over the cards and we'll complete the transaction.
Ned: I claimed to be Kristina’s father because I wanted to help you.
Alexis: And I have paid dearly for that help.
Ned: Please, just stop. There's been too much animosity between us, and I want it to end.
Alexis: So do I. But we need to allow a reasonable amount of time to establish trust again. Do you have an angle, Ned?
Ned: No. I don't have an angle. And the pregnant woman I helped would've known that because she was my friend. We'd been through a lot together, and we came out the other side. But somewhere along the way, that Alexis became bitter and suspicious and angry.
Alexis: I think you're twisting things around.
Ned: I am not twisting anything around. I love this child, and I have always believed that she needed her mother. But not the person you've become -- the person you used to be and maybe -- and maybe, I don't know, maybe that wonderful woman is gone -- but for Kristina’s sake, I sincerely hope not.
Alexis: What do you want, Ned?
Ned: What do I want is actually what you want. I'm finally agreeing with you. And I hope that this turns the cold-blooded creature you've become into the decent human being that you used to be. This is for you. I've relinquished all paternal rights --
Ned: To Kristina, and I am petitioning Judge Farmer to grant you sole custody. And I know that the judge may think this means that I'm not committed to this child, but I think you know the truth -- that I love this child as much as any father could ever love a child.
Courtney: So, have you always wanted to be a sheriff?
Brian: Yes. But as I got bigger, my dreams got bigger, too. I left Hayes' Landing for college, then started training at Quantico.
Courtney: You were in the F.B.I.?
Brian: I graduated from the academy, but then I gave it up and came home.
Brian: Stuff happens, right?
Brian: This is a small town. Not a lot of use for all that training, so, I'm going to make a change, do something different with my life.
Courtney: What, like a new profession?
Brian: I like being in law enforcement. I wouldn't mind moving, though, relocating in a different town. Someplace bigger, maybe.
Courtney: Hmm. So you're tired of living here in Hayes' Landing?
Brian: Too many memories. Anyhow, I've been sending out applications to police departments in larger towns.
Courtney: Like where?
Michael: Can we call Daddy?
Jason: Courtney thinks she's doing what you would want. But I know she's wrong. I know you wouldn't want your kids away from you or Sonny. I mean, the boys are safe. Courtney's safe. That should be enough. I should be able to let this go, but I can’t. You know I love Courtney, but she's wrong. I miss her. All I want for you is just to wake up, okay, and for Courtney to come home.
Jason: What did the doctor say?
Sonny: The longer she's in a coma, the less chance of her coming out.
Jason: Come on, there's got to be something they can do.
Sonny: They have this radical new therapy -- Lorenzo Alcazar.
Dillon: There he is, Chase Newell, astronaut.
Georgie: Are you sure that's him?
Dillon: Yeah, that's him. You saw the picture on the website. That's definitely him. And besides that, Jax and Sam both want the cards, and they're, like, grilling the guy, so, all we have to do now is wait for somebody to take out the cards.
Georgie: Well, how are we going to get them away from someone?
Dillon: We'll improvise.
Jax: I'm going to need those cards delivered by this afternoon.
Chase: Why wait? Let's get this over with before anyone changes their mind.
Jax: Well, that's fine by me.
Chase: I'll get the cards.
Georgie: Do we follow Chase or stay here?
Dillon: I'll follow the space man, you hang out here.
Sam: I don't suppose I could interest you in a wild night of blazing, passionate sex?
Sonny: Tony claims that Carly’s responding to Alcazar's voice.
Jason: Oh, come on, that can't be right.
Sonny: Could be fear, could be anger. But either way, Tony says that any sign is a good sign. The fact that she's reacting -- you know, it helps her chances. So he -- he wants Alcazar to sit with her.
Jason: Dr. Jones has been wrong before. He was wrong about me.
Sonny: If there's a slight chance, then I owe it to Carly to give it to her. Let's not forget who fired the bullet that's in her head.
Carly: Get down!
Sonny: Hey, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa.
Sonny: Whew! Are you all right?
Carly: Yeah, I'm fine. And you?
Sonny: How'd you know it was going to happen?
Carly: I just -- I just saw the guy with the gun, and my reflexes -- they kicked in.
Sonny: Wow. Is there something you're not telling me?
Carly: No, that's it.
Sonny: Like, I don't know, maybe you like me a little bit? That's a joke.
Carly: I think I like you enough to not want to see you get riddled with bullets. But I am a happily married woman, and my husband thinks you're a dangerous man.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. What do you think?
Carly: I think he's a fine, upstanding man.
Sonny: Sounds like a speech for a politician to me.
Carly: Well, that's not what I meant.
Sonny: No, I'm sorry. You're right. It's -- well, you know, loving your husband is a good thing.
Carly: Yes, it is.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah. Well -- yeah. I'm grateful for your reflexes and whatever prompted you to save my life.
Sonny: I love you, Carly. I'd do anything to pull you out of this.
Brian: Well, that noise sounded like gunfire, but it was just firecrackers.
Michael: Are you sure?
Brian: Sheriffs know stuff like that.
Michael: Hmm. If you're a real sheriff, how come you pretended to be a handyman?
Brian: I have two jobs. A lot of people do around here.
Courtney: I'll be right back. You two okay?
Brian: We're fine.
Brian: So how do you like your new house?
Michael: It's not my house. I'm just staying here until my mom gets home from the hospital.
Brian: Courtney's not your mom?
Michael: Nah, she's my aunt. She doesn't have any kids, but she has Jason. They're married, but he's not here right now.
Brian: So I'm sure you must like being a big brother, huh?
Michael: Yeah. Morgan's a good baby.
Brian: That's a good name. It's good for either a boy or a girl.
Michael: Morgan's a boy. He was named after my uncle, Jason Morgan.
Courtney: Well, Morgan’s back asleep. Do you want more cookies?
Courtney: Hey, no, not you, mister. You've had too much already. I was asking Brian.
Brian: Actually, I've got to run. Thanks for your hospitality.
Courtney: Yeah, anytime. Bye.
Michael: Brian's the nicest policeman I ever met.
Skye: I've got an offer you can't refuse.
Luke: Try me.
Skye: You haven't even heard it yet.
Luke: So, let's hear the offer.
Skye: I'll help get you out of prison if you help me destroy the Quartermaines.
Jax: "A wild night of blazing, passionate sex." Wow, that sounds intriguing.
Sam: Doesn't it?
Jax: I'm just not sure if I'm ready for that. It's a little fast.
Sam: Really? Not to me. I've always found you attractive, Jax, and I was just thinking, you know, we could move to a deeper level of friendship.
Sam: Friends -- they help each other. Meet in the middle, give and take.
Jax: I don't think so.
Sam: You're not even listening to a word that I have to say right now.
Jax: My father needs those cards.
Sam: Did I say I want you to give them to me?
Jax: Well, that's a moot point. I just -- the cards are mine now.
Sam: I'm suggesting a compromise. All I'm saying that -- after your father is better, maybe you could loan the cards to me for a couple of nights, just until I get on my feet again.
Sam: Why? I need the luck. Come on, you saw my winning streak when I had them.
Jax: There's no such thing as luck, Sam. There's only skill and talent and determination and wit and charisma --
Jax: All of which you have. You have everything you need to achieve whatever you want, Sam. You're a beautiful woman.
Chase: Do you still want the dead man's hand, Mr. Jacks? Or has there been a change of plans?
Alexis: Oh. I certainly wasn't expecting to see her. She's sleeping.
Cameron: Judge Farmer objects to our living arrangement.
Alexis: Did Skye tell her?
Cameron: No, actually, it was Kristina’s caseworker. The judge informs me that I'm "violating the intent of her custody ruling."
Cameron: I'm here to surrender Kristina.
Alexis: To whom? Ned? Ned's relinquished custody. She doesn't want her with me. What are they going to do, put her in a foster home? This is unbelievable.
Michael: Hey, Courtney, look what I found.
Courtney: Hey, where'd you find those?
Michael: In a drawer under the bunk bed.
Courtney: Hmm. Let me see. Well, it says it belongs to a boy named Henry.
Michael: Do we have to find Henry and give it back to him?
Courtney: I don't know. I mean, I don't know who lived here before us, but I guess we could ask the real estate agent. On the other hand, Henry hasn't come back to get them, has he?
Michael: Maybe he doesn't want it anymore.
Courtney: I'll tell you what. If Henry doesn't come back to get them, you can keep them.
Courtney: And if he does, well, then, I don't think he would mind you playing with them for now.
Michael: All right.
Sonny: I wish to God I could go back in time, do things differently. But I can't, and I can't move forward unless you come back to me. I need you to come back. Look, I don't know what to do, okay? I don't know what's right or wrong. Now the doctors are telling me that Alcazar's voice is reaching you. Maybe he's making you angry, maybe he's scaring you, maybe he's making you remember things that you don't want to remember. But even so, bad thoughts are better than you slipping further and further away. I'm -- I just pray that I'm not hurting you more by doing this. But I'm desperate, and I don't know what else to try.
Jax: $2 million for the dead man's hand. Where is it?
Chase: You get the cards as soon as I verify the funds in your account.
Jax: Very good.
Sam: We were discussing a compromise.
Jax: No, we weren’t. I just said that you were beautiful.
Sam: Jax, I'm not trying to trick you.
Jax: Well, you have before. Okay, every chance you got, as a matter of fact.
Jax: So why should I trust you now?
Sam: Because nothing is more important than your father's life. All I'm saying is that once he is healthy and well and sure his luck has returned, maybe -- just maybe you could loan me the cards for a few nights of poker.
Jax: You want to borrow the cards?
Sam: I will pay for the privilege.
Jax: Sam --
Chase: Your check is good. Congratulations. You're the proud owner of the dead man's hand.
Jax: Don't tell me that you misplaced the cards.
Chase: The cards were in my pocket.
Chase: They're not here. Damn it!
Jax: How the hell did you do that?
Georgie: Did you get the dead man's hand?
Dillon: Piece of cake.
Georgie: Oh, great! Call your mom and tell her.
Dillon: Um, there's this -- there's this little thing -- since Luke was the one who spotted the name tag on the spacesuit, and he was the one who gave me the lead on Newell --
Georgie: Dillon --
Dillon: I made a promise to him. Look, he just wants to -- he wants to try the auction thing over again, okay?
Georgie: This isn't a game, Dillon. It's your future. Now, here's where you need to decide which is more important -- Luke's freedom or your own.
Luke: Are you telling me that life with the Quartermaines ain't all caviar and waxed fruit?
Skye: I want them to pay, and you're going to help.
Luke: Why me?
Skye: Because you're sly, underhanded, and willing to break every rule in the book.
Luke: Flattery will get you everything. But there's just one small problem.
Luke: Driving a stake through Count Vlad's bloodless heart seems to have limited my horizons.
Skye: Yeah, well, you should've driven a stake through Alexis' heart. The woman is a vampire, sucking the life out of every man she ever meets, and damn it, time after time, she gets away with it. This time she got away with the ultimate prize -- Ned's daughter.
Luke: Oh, look, I don't want to hear details.
Skye: Oh, he gave Kristina away without even warning me! I don't matter. No, my feelings don't count. The Quartermaines' favorite hobby is crushing my heart to pieces.
Skye: Yeah, my sentiments exactly.
Luke: Well, don't take it so personally. They treat everybody nasty, including each other. Blame rabid capitalism and cliché family values.
Skye: I'm the castoff, Luke -- you know, the disposable one. But they've yanked my chain one too many times, so I will help you get acquitted of Stefan’s murder if you help me obliterate Ned and his family.
Luke: Who says I want to be acquitted?
Judge Farmer: I'm impressed by Mr. Ashton's generosity.
Alexis: His intention is for me to have sole custody of this baby.
Judge Farmer: I don't know if it's in the best interest of the child.
Alexis: Well, Judge Farmer, I do know. I have made mistakes. But everything I've done has been out of love for my daughter. And everything that I've done has been in order to protect her best interests, whereas -- and I say this with all due respect -- the court has not been able to do. I want to take my daughter home where she belongs. Please allow me the opportunity to do that.
Judge Farmer: Dr. Lewis?
Cameron: I have no objection.
Judge Farmer: Very well. I'll honor Mr. Ashton's wishes and grant you sole custody, Ms. Davis.
Alexis: Thank you.
Judge Farmer: However, if I find out that you have abused this responsibility, Kristina will be permanently removed from your care.
Alexis: She will have a wonderful life. I assure you.
Alexis: Shh, shh, shh, shh.
Cameron: You finally got Kristina all to yourself at last. No Ned, no extended family. After months of maniacal effort, your wish has finally come true. You are now Kristina’s entire life and will remain so until she grows up and you find yourself alone.
[Knock on door]
Brian: Now, the 911 was firecrackers in the new family's backyard. Mrs. Farrell's cat got stuck up a tree again, and the Gibson kids stole candy from the drugstore for the fifth time. Yeah, I'll see you in the morning.
Brian: That Jason Morgan.
Lorenzo: You were right not to fire a second shot. You could've hit my wife. You'll get the other half of the payment tomorrow. Are you suicidal? Is Corinthos so important to you that you risk our baby's life as well as your own?
Carly: No. I didn't want him to die because he flirted with me.
Lorenzo: Are you in love with him?
Carly: No, I am in love with you, my husband, the history professor who refused to go into his family's illegal business. You're not a violent man, Lorenzo.
Lorenzo: No, but Corinthos is. This is the only way to defend us against him.
Carly: No, you're wrong. Sonny's not a threat to our happiness. But his murder would shatter our lives. It would always hang over us -- over our marriage, over our children, over our future. Please, Lorenzo. Please cancel the hit on Sonny.
Lorenzo: All right. All right.
Carly: Thank you. Thank you.
On the next "General Hospital" --
Nikolas: Oh --
Man: Too long.
Emily: Who are you? Leave him alone!
Jax: I'm willing to offer you $5 million for the cards.
Faith: Moment of truth, Zander -- are you in or are you out?
Courtney: Jason, this is Sheriff Brian Beck.
Sonny: What'd you do to her?
