Jax: Sam, you all right? You okay?

Sam: What happened?

[Sam coughs]

Jax: Just sit up. Just sit up. Just -- nice and easy.

[Dillon coughs]

Georgie: I feel so weird.

Dillon: I think --

Dillon: I think we might've been drugged or something.

Luke: Who's got my cards?

Jax: The cards. The cards were in my hand. Did you do this? Did you do this?

A.J.: Asphyxiate myself? No, no, I think our host pulled a double cross, my friend.

Luke: I had nothing to do with tranking anybody. This was a fair -- slightly illegal, but it was fair, this auction. And you owe me 10 million bucks.

Lucky: Nobody move.

A.J.: Oh.

Jax: Oh.

Scott: All right. Everybody's under arrest here for aiding and abetting the caped, crusading fugitive.

Emily: I love you so much.

Zander: Please, don't let me stop you. I just want Emily to look me in the face and admit this is what she wanted all along.

Sonny: I'm flying down tomorrow.

Jason: I'm going with you. You need backup.

Sonny: You know what? It's your life. You're going to do what you're going to do. I'm not going to stop you. Tell Benny to make the arrangements.

Carly: Um -- excuse me, Mr. Corinthos? Hi. I'm Carly Rob-- Carly Alcazar. I don't know if you remember me or not, but I used to wait on you and your wife at Kelly’s.

Sonny: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember. I remember, yeah.

Carly: I just wanted to tell you I'm really sorry for your loss. I didn't know your wife very well, but she seemed like a genuinely good person. She obviously loved you a lot.

Sonny: Yeah, she did. She loved me a lot. She was very loyal. And I killed her.

Sonny: You're in charge now. It all belongs to you -- the casinos, the waterfront, the transport network -- everything I thought was so damn important, everything I risked Carly's life to keep.

Jason: No. No, Sonny --

Sonny: What do you mean, no?

Jason: I'll run things for you until Carly gets better, but I'm not going to take what's yours.

Sonny: You need to grow up here! This is not about loyalty. It's about business! I can't run my territory if I can't shoot a gun!

Jason: I'll shoot it for you.

Sonny: Oh, you're going to -- you're going to shadow me? You're going to run things in my name? That's not going to work, and I don't want it to work. I shot my wife! Do you understand that? I shot my wife! It's the last time I shoot anybody!

Zander: Say we are over, Emily. How hard can that be for you? Just admit that you have been playing me for months. Or are you going to keep lying to me all the way to the very end?

Emily: All right, how many times can I say that I messed up, Zander? When you wanted to break up, I agreed. And when you changed your mind and you wanted to try again, I backed away from Nikolas. I tried to be fair to both --

Zander: You call this fair? Hooking up with Nikolas in a house that we lived in together?

Emily: All right, no matter what I do, I hurt you. And the harder I try not to, the worse --

Zander: No, Emily, you didn't do this for me. You did this for yourself because you are selfish, because that is all --

Emily: We're done, Zander! I love Nikolas. And I want to be with him. Only him.

Zander: You saved my life. I never got over that till now. Goodbye, Emily Quartermaine. Go to hell. Take your boyfriend with you.

[Door slams]

Nikolas: Did you mean it?

Emily: Every word.

Lucky: This was found in the duct by the air conditioner. We're going to send it to the lab for analysis.

Scott: Yeah. All right, you know, I'm wondering why somebody went to all this trouble to knock everybody out in here and nobody was robbed. My next question is, what are you all doing hanging out with this known felon?

Luke: They came in for a drink. Nobody knew I'd be here.

Scott: Officer Spencer, cuff your father to the other baboon over there. I'm going to check his office.

Sonny: Guns are for people with nothing to lose. That's when you started carrying one. You had no past, no conscience. And I made it easy for you because I told you -- I told you who to shoot, when to shoot, and you made it work for yourself. You didn't hate the way I hated when I shot Alcazar, when I pulled that trigger.

Jason: Sonny, you were trying -- come on, you were trying to protect Carly.

Sonny: It never occurred to me not to shoot. I knew she was right behind him! It's easy, Jason. It's easy to pull the trigger. It's easy to fire, but you can't -- you can't take back what happens next. You can't undo the damage. The only way to stop it is not to carry a gun. And if I can't defend myself, I cannot run my territory.

Jason: You know that the only way out is to disappear.

Sonny: Well, okay, I'll disappear. As soon as, you know, Carly gets better, I'll take her and the kids, we'll go -- we'll go someplace else.

Jason: If that's what you want.

Sonny: You know what I want? I want Carly to wake up. I want her to be able to hold her children. The night Lily died, I learned you can have a family, and you can have a business, but you cannot have both. When I shot Carly, I learned that truth all over again. The difference is Carly's alive, so are my children. I will not lose them.

Jason: Okay, I'll take over.

Sonny: Thank you. I'm going back to the hospital to Carly.

[Sonny sighs]

Courtney: I was listening.

Jason: You shouldn't have.

Courtney: Sonny's right. If you can have a family or the business, but never both, which do you choose?

Scott: Spencer, seven phony passports -- a record. Lucky, uncuff the jackass from the baboon over there and put him in the squad car.

Lucky: Why didn't you run while you had the chance?

Luke: I got distracted. What do you care, anyway? You can stamp "case closed" on my file and get a nice gold star from Baldwin for bringing me in.

Scott: All right, Lucky, cut the family chitchat. Get him in the car and get him down to his little 5 x 7 cell. And I want statements from everybody in here about what happened, whether you were robbed or not. And if you lie, that's perjury --

[Phone rings]

Scott: And I'll arrest you.

Jax: You know, you're just dragging this out longer --

Sam: What? Where the hell are you?

A.J.: A.J. Quartermaine. Alan James Jr., if it matters.

Sam: Oh, God, no.

A.J.: I live at 66 Harbor View Road.

Sam: Okay.

A.J.: C.E.O. of E.L.Q. address, 5754 –

Coleman: Are you here to meet somebody?

Elizabeth: I'm just here to have a drink. That's all.

Coleman: Well, first one's on the house. Happy Halloween.

Elizabeth: No, thanks.

Coleman: You know, you'd be a real heartbreaker if you ever learned how to smile once in a while, you know that?

Zander: What happened to you? Jake's isn't your usual style.

Elizabeth: I'm here to break a very bad habit.

Zander: Well, that makes two of us.

Nikolas: We don't have to do this. We can both agree that tonight didn't work out. Just call each other tomorrow, try to figure things out.

Emily: Is that what you want?

Nikolas: No. I just built a fire -- because -- just to keep me from touching you. And I'm standing on the other side of the room from you, because if I get too close I'll just -- I'll kiss you and I won't be able to stop.

Emily: What if I want the same thing?

Nikolas: I love you. And I know you love me. But if -- if we sleep together right now, and you're sorry afterward, it'll crush me. So, if you feel that that may happen, I'd rather just wait than have you regret making love to me.

Courtney: What were you thinking in the warehouse when Faith's men opened fire?

Jason: Just, you know, get down, take cover.

Courtney: So you didn't think that you were going to die?

Jason: I mean, there really -- really wasn't any time to -- to think. Besides, that's not how it works for me. I mean, in those situations, everything just gets clear and almost still, and I know what I have to do and then I do it.

Courtney: So you weren't scared?

Jason: No, not really.

Courtney: You know, when I was driving to the warehouse, I was trying to stay calm, but I -- I couldn't stop shaking and I just -- I felt like I was going to throw up. You know, by that time it was on the radio, and they said "no apparent survivors," but I just -- I just kept thinking that they're wrong, that -- that you were going to hold on until I got there in time to say goodbye.

Courtney: God, Jason, I don't want you to die.

Jason: I know, I know you're scared. And I wish I could help you.

Courtney: You can.

Jason: No.

Courtney: Please, Jason. Sonny's quitting. Why can't you?

Sonny: Hey. It's Sonny. Sorry I left. I had -- I -- I had to take care of something very important. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, not much has lately. The truth is I went to -- I went to kill Faith. And for whatever reason I -- I couldn't follow through. I can't fire another gun.

Carly: Can I get you something? Another drink maybe?

Sonny: No, thank you.

Carly: I read in the paper that -- um -- it happened here, out in the parking lot, and maybe it's none of my business, but I just don't --

Sonny: Yeah, you're right, you're right. It's none of your business.

Carly: Listen, Lily and I -- we weren't great friends or anything, but she was really nice to me and she didn't have to be. And I just can't imagine that she'd want you sitting here alone in the place where she died.

Sonny: Maybe you didn't hear me, but I killed her.

Carly: I think that might be your guilt talking.

Sonny: Yeah?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: How do you know?

Carly: Because the police in this town hate you, and if you had anything to do with your wife's death, I could imagine they would come and arrest you.

Sonny: My wife died because I was going to leave her for another woman. That's the kind of husband I am. Her father thought she was on her way to Puerto Rico, so he sent somebody to put a bomb in my car. I was supposed to die, not her.

Carly: Well, then it was your father-in-law's fault, not yours.

Sonny: Well, now we're going to die together. Because I'm going to shoot him, his people are going to shoot me. C'est la vie.

Carly: Don't throw your life away.

Sonny: I remember that time you asked me to get out of the organization. And I told you I couldn't change. I can. I have to.

Sonny: I know you can hear me. I'm out of the business, Carly. I gave everything to Jason. I've retired. The violence is over. You and the kids are going to be safe with me now.

Carly: Lily wouldn't want you doing this.

Sonny: What the hell do you know about my wife? You waited on her at Kelly’s and that gives you the right to speak for her?

Carly: Did she know that you were cheating on her?

Sonny: Yeah.

Carly: And she went back to you anyway.

Sonny: Yeah.

Carly: That's because she loved you. She wouldn't want you to die.

Sonny: Look, Lily wanted -- she wanted a child. She didn't get that. She wanted my love. She didn't get that, either. I married her for her father's territory, to get me out of jail. That's who I am. I lie, I steal, I run down whoever gets in my way. I love power, and now it's all I have.

Carly: Okay. So was Lily stupid or blind? Hmm? She make up the reasons to forgive you and go back to you? She made up the good that she saw in you? No, she loved you. And maybe you weren't worth it, so be worth it now. You start all over. You honor her life.

Sonny: I don't want to start over. I don't want to feel. I don't want to miss her.

Sonny: I never thought I'd walk away from power, but I did. You may not trust that yet, but you're going to have -- you're going to have to help me out here. You're going to have to wake up, and I will prove it to you. Let me give you and the children a life without fear.

Courtney: Look, I understand that I'm being unfair. I agreed that I could accept the work that you do, but I guess I'm just more selfish than I thought. Jason, I want a lifetime with you.

Jason: I'll -- I'll do everything -- everything I can to stay safe, but I can't quit.

Courtney: Why?

Jason: Because it's the only thing that I'm good at. It's the only thing that I know. I need to do it. I mean, I can't remember the first 20 years of my life. I can't -- I can't imagine what's not real. But I can get shot at and not panic. I can meet a dangerous situation and it doesn't bother me because it's like breathing for me.

[Courtney sighs]

Jason: Look, everything about my work -- the risks that I take, the chance of getting caught, all the things that could go wrong -- those are all the reasons that I can't give it up.

Zander: I saw you at the party with Ric. What happened?

Elizabeth: Well, he kidnapped a pregnant Carly and kept her chained to a wall in our house, where we were supposed to be starting our married life.

Zander: You win, hands down.

Elizabeth: Oh, yeah? What's the contest?

Zander: Worst misuse of a newlywed home. Emily's having sex with Nikolas in ours right now.

Elizabeth: Oh. God, I'm sorry.

Zander: Oh, it's pretty boring and ordinary compared to a pregnant lady in a panic room.

[Elizabeth laughs]

Zander: Just the girl that I thought I loved, taking all her clothes off for a guy I hate. Elizabeth?

Elizabeth: Hmm?

Zander: You're Emily’s best friend. You knew this was going to happen all the time, didn't you?

Elizabeth: I knew eventually she would have to choose. Yeah, I kind of thought it would be Nikolas.

Zander: You know the funny thing? I thought the same thing.

Elizabeth: So how does it feel?

Zander: Elizabeth, you don't want to know.

Elizabeth: But that's just it, I think I do. I -- I want to know how that feels. I need to get to the place where there is no going back to Ric. Or at least make it so he doesn't want to come back to me.

Zander: How's that?

Elizabeth: Maybe by doing something unforgivable.

Zander: Elizabeth, you don't want to trash yourself.

Nikolas: They say you can't miss what you never had. But I don't really believe that that's true. I missed love my whole life until I had it with you. I feel that it would've been worse if I'd have had love and then lost it. No matter how bad I want you right now, I want a future with you a whole lot more.

Emily: Can't tonight be the beginning of our future?

Nikolas: Yes.

[Emily sighs]

Emily: I love you, Nikolas. And I want to love you with my soul and with my heart, my body. Every way we can be together.

Emily: I won't regret tonight. I'll treasure it.

Sam: Hey. Two shots.

Coleman: Two shots? What, are you -- you here to shoot a little pool?

Sam: No, I'm here to mind my business. You think you could do the same?

Coleman: I'll tell you what -- I'll be around if you change your mind.

Man: Did you order this for me?

Sam: No, I did not. Order your own.

Man: Easy on the attitude. You should be happy to see me.

Sam: You may be the best pilot anyone has every saw, Mr. Right stuff, but you are the sorriest excuse for a boyfriend. And I am really, really sorry I wasted even five minutes of my time with you.

[Phone rings]

Jax: This is Jax.

Coleman: Hey, Jax, it's Coleman. Look, man, I got a little proposition for you. For two G’s, I can tell you where Sam McCall is, who she's meeting, and what they're talking about.

Man: I hate it when you're mad at me, Sammy. I came all this way to make it up to you.

Sam: There's nothing to make up. I haven't thought about you in months.

Man: You've been too busy looking for your cards, right? Well, guess who found them.

Sam: You've got my cards?

Sonny: You know, I can -- I can still feel the gun in my hand, the cold steel wet from the rain, the pressure on my finger when I -- when I pulled the trigger. I got to tell you -- you know, the only time I don't feel a gun is when I'm holding your hand.

Sonny: Did the newspaper article say she was pregnant?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: We just found out. We wanted kids from the start. I just never thought I'd be a really good father, you know. A good father -- I mean, what -- a good father doesn't get his child killed before he's born.

Carly: "He"?

Sonny: Yeah. I was -- I always felt he was a boy. Anyway -- um -- they're in heaven, you know. And Lily and my baby -- you know, at least Lily's not alone. I used to -- I used to leave her alone a lot, you know, and she never complained, and I used to, like -- I'd come home and she'd be on the couch and she'd have this big smile --

Lorenzo: Carly?

Carly: Hey, honey. When did you get here?

Lorenzo: Just now.

Carly: Yeah? Hey.

Lorenzo: Hey. Our table's waiting.

Carly: Okay. This is my husband, Professor Alcazar. This is Sonny --

Lorenzo: Yes, I've read about Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Yeah, I bet you have. Okay -- um -- thank you, thank you for your time.

Carly: You are welcome. Don't go to Puerto Rico.

Lorenzo: What was that about?

Carly: His wife just died.

Lorenzo: Yes, starting his car. It's an effective way to get rid of the competition.

Carly: And it's horrible.

Lorenzo: Yes, it is. But that's the life the man chose. I don't want you anywhere near it, Carly.

Carly: Well, he just seemed sad and I wanted to help.

Lorenzo: You can't help a man like Corinthos. I know. My father and my brother are the same. Promise me you'll stay away from him.

Carly: I probably will never say three words to the man again.

Lorenzo: Promise?

Carly: Okay. All right, if it makes you feel better, I -- I promise.

Lorenzo: Thank you.

Emily: When you were little, did anyone ever read you fairy tales?

Nikolas: Hmm. Most of the time I got Greek myths full of violence and illicit love affairs.

Emily: Well, the best fairy tales are variations on one story.

Nikolas: Mm-hmm?

Emily: There's this girl, and for whatever reason, something's not right in her life. She's lost a parent, or she's locked in a tower, or she has to sweep floors.

Nikolas: Hmm.

Emily: And then come the witches and the poisoned apples and sleeping for 100 years. And then after all her mistakes are behind her -- and, trust me, some of these girls may make huge mistakes --

[Emily laughs]

Emily: If she's -- if she's very, very lucky, the girl gets her prince.

Nikolas: Well, if you -- if you look at it from the prince's point of view, you know, he's -- he's facing a lifetime of duty and loneliness until -- until there's --

[Emily giggles]

Nikolas: You know, a spell, a witch, a poisoned apple, whatever, and that's -- then everything changes.

Emily: Yeah.

Nikolas: Everything changes. He remains steadfast and -- and honorable. And also very, very lucky -- prince gets his girl.

Zander: You want to go back downstairs and get another drink? Or you just want to call the whole thing off?

Elizabeth: Zander, I don't -- I don't want to hurt you.

Zander: Elizabeth, I'm not looking for you to fall in love with me. If you need me, I'm here. If not --

Singer: The fire within will grow the fire is all I've ever known deception takes its toll break it down heal us all

Sam: You knocked us all out and walked in in your space suit.

Man: Closed-oxygen system -- there's nothing better.

Sam: You misused government equipment to steal my cards.

Man: You weren't holding them, Sammy. The guy in the tux was. I did you a favor and took the cards someplace safe.

Sam: Okay. I'm touched, and -- and that was extremely thoughtful of you. Now hand them over, please.

Man: Uh-uh, uh-uh. There's got to be something in it for me -- a reward.

Sam: I'm broke.

Man: I'll settle for affection -- one night in bed together?

Sam: You can forget it.

Man: Oh, come on, Sammy. Don't be so mean. You know how good we are together.

Sam: I am not going to trade my body for those cards.

Jax: Yes, she will.

Sam: What, are you stalking me? Take a hike! This has nothing to do with you.

Jax: Let's clarify the terms, shall we? You spend one night with Sam, and, in return, you give her Wild Bill Hickok's dead man's hand.

Man: That's my offer. Take it or leave it, baby.

Jax: She'll take it.

Singer: Staring at the sun

[Jason sighs]

Jason: How's Morgan?

Courtney: He's fine. Leticia's packing her stuff. Jason, I'm taking the boys and I'm leaving tonight.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Jax: You said you wanted the cards at any cost.

Sam: You're offering my body.

Elizabeth: I ran into Zander. We had sex.

Zander: Oh, my God. What do you want from me?

Jason: Come on, she's panicking. Don't let her take your kids away.

Lorenzo: How did I end up here, in love with another man's wife?
