Ned: Any news?

Monica: Dr. Misra is in with her now. Where's Alan?

Ned: He and grandfather went to pick up A.J. they'll be here.

Dillon: Hey. How's Emily?

Ned: Well, we're waiting to hear. She had a seizure.

Zander: She's unconscious.

Ned: Hey, Georgie, do you mind if I talk to Dillon a moment alone?

Georgie: Sure.

Dillon: Ned, I am so sorry, you know? I mean, I should've gotten to know Emily --

Ned: No, no, I'm the one who should be apologizing to you.

Dillon: For what?

Ned: For not being around more. I mean, I've been so preoccupied with Alexis, the baby, and E.L.Q., and now Emily --

Dillon: Ned, forget it. Please forget it. I don't want --

Ned: No, I can't because you're my brother. You're in an impossible situation, and I want to help you. So my question to you is, do you want my help?

Elizabeth: Lucky, hey. Excuse me -- I just got your message. What happened?

Lucky: It's meningitis. Emily's too weak to fight the infections, and she had a seizure.

Elizabeth: What? How bad?

Lucky: She's unconscious.

Elizabeth: Oh, God. But she's going to wake up, right?

Stefan: Do you understand now why I was against your relationship with Emily? These people are not bankers. If we default on this loan, they mean to kill you.

Nikolas: I think you're exaggerating the risk. But it doesn't matter. I love Emily, and once she wakes up I will marry her.

Stefan: Nikolas, if you propose to Emily, you'll die. For God's sake, this is your life we're talking about.

Nikolas: That's right, it's my life. And I won't waste it on a loveless marriage to save a Cassadine. That's it. I'm marrying her.

Stefan: Then I truly hope she never awakens.

Nikolas: Get out. And don't you ever come near her again.

Scott: Calm down, Lansing. I'm not here to take you in.

Ric: Really? Then what is this?

Faith: Call this your lucky day.

Scott: I'm dropping the charges.

Ric: Why?

Scott: Oh, come on, you're an attorney. You know that every trial is a numbers game. Besides, Carly -- she's an unreliable witness. There's nothing to really back up the allegations.

Faith: Which means you're not going to jail.

Ric: Because Carly's an unreliable witness?

Scott: And because you were shacking up with her in that little private room because you got -- you got this weird sex thing going on.

Ric: Ok, so, you're not filing charges, right?

Scott: Nope.

Ric: Well, then, I have one question. What's in it for you?

Sonny: You told me these flowers were from your mother.

Carly: Because I wanted to avoid this.

Sonny: What, the truth?

Carly: No, I wanted to avoid making things worse.

Sonny: I've asked you not to lie to me. I mean --

Carly: Alcazar has created this whole scenario in his head that doesn't exist, and I'm going to be damned if I'm going to let him do it!

Sonny: He's my enemy. Why are you covering for him?

Carly: Ok, so I made a mistake! Can we just not let it be a big deal?

Sonny: This is the first step, you know, towards breaking our trust.

Courtney: I just want you to know that it -- I never meant for it to be a secret. It just became one.

Jason: So just -- just tell me now.

Courtney: It could change us, Jason. Or maybe it already has.

Jason: Something's been wrong since you came back from South America.

Courtney: I don't know, I guess that Iíve been trying to hide it, but I -- I can't anymore.

Jason: Did Alcazar hurt you? Did he touch you when you were on the boat?

Courtney: No, no. It's not even about Alcazar. It's not even his fault. Jason, I was -- I was pregnant when I went to South America. But I'm not anymore. I lost the baby.

Carly: You don't trust me now?

Sonny: This card is a communication from a man who used my pregnant wife against me for business.

Carly: I can't believe this. After everything we have been through now --

Sonny: That's what I'm talking about. You got to trust me to deal with these things. You can't try to protect me from something you don't understand.

Carly: I do understand.

Sonny: You're the one who said Alcazar's a player. Well, now he's playing you. The harder you try to keep the peace, the more distance you put between me and you. It's a game. Don't let him pull you in.

Carly: Ok.

Sonny: He's working you, ok? Don't let him work you. Listen to what Iím saying. Sit down, ok? Just sit down. If he does something like this again, do not lie to me. I'd rather hear the truth and get angry.

Carly: Ok.

Sonny: Ok?

Carly: Ok.

Sonny: So from now on, there's nothing I don't know between you and Lorenzo Alcazar.

Scott: Well, I'm trying to save the taxpayers some money.

Ric: Right, by avoiding a trial.

Scott: Well, as Faith pointed out, there's not a lot of concrete evidence to prove that Carly was being held against her will. Besides, I got other fish to fry.

Ric: Yeah, I'm sure you do. My brother, for one. So what is it, Scott, I'm the bait in this scenario? Is that it? You figure that Sonny's going to snap when he finds out that you're not going to prosecute, so he comes, he kills me, and then you wind up prosecuting him. You kill two birds with one stone. That's very lucrative.

Scott: Yeah, so wear the bull's-eye or go to jail.

Faith: Take the deal, Ric.

Ric: No, you know -- fine. Fine, you got a deal. But I want protection.

Scott: Go give your statement to the police. Enjoy your freedom.

Ric: That was genius.

Faith: Well, you can thank me while you pack.

Ric: I'm not going anywhere. There's far too many things in this town that are important to me.

Faith: Like what?

Ric: A chance to get my wife back.

Elizabeth: You know how you can tell who your real friends are? The ones you don't have to call all the time or even see, and yet you still think about them every day.

Lucky: Yeah, people can pick right back up like no time has passed.

Elizabeth: That's us with Emily.

Lucky: Well, when we get through this, we'll promised to spend more time together, ok?

Elizabeth: You, me, Nikolas, and Em.

Lucky: Yeah.

Ned: I have an idea. Why don't I find an evening next week and we'll go shoot some pool, hang out.

Dillon: You don't have to do this just because Emilyís sick, ok?

Ned: Look, Emilyís illness has reminded me of what's really important, and you deserve better.

Dillon: It's really no problem, all right? I mean it. You have been really decent to me. You have been --

Ned: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Maybe you can do something over at E.L.Q. for the rest of the summer. Yeah, I mean, at least we'll get a chance to see each other rather than just at the breakfast buffet in the living room.

Dillon: You're -- you're offering me a job?

Ned: Yeah.

Dillon: Doing what?

Ned: Learning, mostly. Office work.

Dillon: Can I -- can I think about it?

Ned: No worries.

Dillon: Ok.

Ned: Job's there if you want it.

Dillon: Ok. Thank you.

Ned: All right.

Georgie: Hey, that looked great.

Dillon: Hi. Can you get me out of here?

Georgie: Sure. Come on.

Courtney: Do you remember the time when I told you that I was feeling nauseous, and you said that it reminded you of when Carly was pregnant with Michael? God, I was so sure that I was just tired and stressed out, and I checked anyway, and -- and, Jason, I wanted to tell you right away --

Jason: You tried. I remember -- but Michael interrupted us. Oh, man.

Courtney: Jason, there was just so much going on, you know? I mean, Carly was missing. And Alcazar -- he was trying to push his drugs through, and Sonny needed you. I just --

Jason: So you held on to this alone?

Courtney: Look, I promised myself that I was going to tell you as soon as you got back. But then Carly -- she called from that clinic, and all I could think about was how both of you were in danger, and I just -- I don't know, I just -- I just figured that if I could get everyone home, that it could come out and -- I took a chance, and it cost us our baby.

Jason: You didn't know you'd be kidnapped.

Courtney: I wasn't in any physical danger with Alcazar, Jason. I mean, the only time that our baby was at risk was when I jumped into that freezing water. I mean, even one of Alcazar's guards -- he warned me. He warned me that it was crazy, and if there was a chance that I couldn't make it, how could I think that our baby would?

Jason: You acted in the moment. Don't blame yourself.

Courtney: There's something else, Jason. I can't get pregnant again. We can't ever have children.  You know, no matter what you say, I know how bad you wanted to be a father. And I took that chance away from you.

Jason: Is the doctor sure?

Courtney: There was -- there was a mistake made in South America when they treated me. Dr. Meadows says that the damage is permanent.

Courtney: Jason, that baby that we lost is the only one that we're ever going to have together, and -- and I didn't tell you until it was too late, and I am so sorry.

Jason: It was an accident.

Courtney: No, and I changed everything for both of us. I mean, our future, our plans. Listen, if you need to take some time --

Jason: Time -- time for what?

Courtney: I don't know -- maybe you don't want to marry me anymore.

Jason: I need you to come with me right now. Will you?

Scott: You gave your goons the day off?

Carly: Scotty, what do you want?

Scott: I came by to let you know Iím dropping the charges against Ric Lansing.

Carly: Are you insane?

Sonny: Ok, Scott, get out of here.

Scott: Ok.

Carly: Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. No, no, no, I'm not going to let you let Ric get away with what he did to me.

Scott: He said that you went with him voluntarily.

Carly: He chained me to a wall. You saw the panic room, Scott.

Scott: Is that what you call it? You know, little sex rooms and contraptions in people's private homes? It's none of my business.

Sonny: Ok, you know what? You delivered your message. Get out of here.

Carly: Ok, no, no, no, Sonny, I want to hear this. I want to hear how this bastard here expects to let a sick freak like Ric run loose on the streets.

Scott: Well, I can't file charges. Insufficient evidence.

Carly: I am pregnant, Scott. Ric kidnapped me. He planned to take my unborn child and then kill me. He deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his miserable life.

Scott: You don't get to make that decision. I do.

Carly: He put my life and the life of my child in jeopardy. You know what, I have rights, and if I want you to press charges, you have to do it.

Scott: It's your word against his, and to be perfectly honest with you, Carly, you're not a very reliable witness.

Sonny: Leave.

Carly: Ok --

Scott: Ok. Listen, I did you a favor, ok? You wouldn't have held up on the witness stand.

Carly: How can Scotty even sink so low to make the kidnapping my fault?

Scott: Calm down, calm down. Ric's not going to be a threat to you or anybody else.

Carly: Sonny, what are you going to do? Sonny, you cannot kill Ric because it's exactly what Scott wants.

Georgie: If you could be anyone, who would you be?

Dillon: Scorsese.

Georgie: Who?

Dillon: He's a -- he's a director. You ever hear of "Mean Streets"?

Georgie: Isn't that a gangster movie?

Dillon: It's an American classic.

Georgie: But everyone ends up alone in those stories.

Dillon: Yeah, but first they're intense and they're passionate.

Georgie: And they're dead.

Dillon: You don't like the idea, huh?

Georgie: Well, sure, as a movie it's great. But as a life goal, no.

Dillon: I -- I guess it's kind of the difference between, you know, living and then living on the edge. Like -- like summer job at E.L.Q. -- working for Lorenzo Alcazar.

Georgie: We always go back to that guy. Why?

Dillon: Because he commands attention. You know, he just -- he walks into a room and it's like people just see him, you know?

Georgie: Well, yeah, sure, they're afraid they're going to get shot! What's the real reason?

Dillon: I think maybe because he notices me.

Georgie: Ned notices you.

Dillon: Ned notices me because he feels obligated to notice me. I mean, I like Ned, but he doesn't have a clue about who I am, and if he did know, would he even like me? You know, I mean, how -- how frigging weird is it that this supposed killer drug dealer evil guy thinks I have more potential than most of my family thinks I do?

Georgie: So you're saying you want Alcazar to like you?

Dillon: I'm saying I want to matter to somebody.

Georgie: Ok, all right. If you want to matter to someone, forget about the Quartermaines and Lorenzo Alcazar. In case you haven't noticed, Dillon, you matter to me. Not because you carry a gun or you're some famous director, but because you're you.

Dillon: Well, if that's true --

Georgie: It is.

Dillon: Then being me pretty much rocks.

Dr. Misra: I'm sorry, Mr. Cassadine, but unless her fever goes down --

Nikolas: It will.  It's ok. You don't worry about him. You just -- you let the doctors hide behind their science, ok? Because I don't need anyone to tell me that you're going to be ok because I know. I know. You can't leave. You're not going anywhere. No, not after I've finally decided to give it all up and just live for us, Emily, so if you can't fight for yourself, then you need to fight for me. I love you, and I need you to love me back. I need one person in my life who keeps their promises. Please, please, stay with me. Please. Please stay with me.

Nikolas: Oh, thank you.

Emily: Nikolas?

Courtney: This is so beautiful.

Jason: Yeah, sometimes it helps just to stop thinking for a while.

Courtney: Could you teach me? You know, ever since that night on the boat, I keep making wishes. First, that I had told you that I was pregnant before you left, and then that I had just never gone to South America at all. You know, I dreamt we had a baby girl, and I saw you holding her. I just can't let go of that image. I just can't believe that it's never going to happen.

Jason: Can you -- can you do something for me?

Courtney: I want to.

Jason: Can you just stop -- just stop wishing, stop looking back, and just be here with me? Ok? We're just going to sit down and we're going to watch the sunrise together.

Nikolas: Has her fever broken?

Dr. Misra: It's coming down. And it's a good thing you're awake.

Emily: Am I better?

Dr. Misra: The infection hasn't subsided. We're still very concerned. We'll need to monitor you closely, but this is a step in the right direction.

Nikolas: How you feeling?

Emily: You know, people really have to stop asking me that.

Nikolas: No problem. So Iíll just -- I'll sit here very quietly and Iíll gaze at you in wonder.

Emily: Yeah. I should probably rest.

Nikolas: I know, I know. There's something I need to say to you first.

Emily: Nikolas, please --

Nikolas: Wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm having my marriage to Lydia annulled. Ok, we can't waste our time together anymore. So Iím asking you, with all the love I have in my heart -- will you marry me? Will you be my wife? What?

Emily: I -- I can't. When -- when the seizure hit, all I wanted was to see Zander. I love him.

Zander: So she's doing better?

Dr. Misra: Emily's conscious, but her immune system is still very weak.

Zander: She's awake. Can I see her?

Monica: Yes. Go! Go.

Ned: That's progress, isn't it?

Monica: Oh, I'm thankful. This could be the turning point that we're hoping for.

Elizabeth: She did it. She's going to be ok.

Lucky: I told you she would.

Elizabeth: Oh, thank God.

Lucky: Back off, Lansing.

Ric: Elizabeth, I have amazing news.

Lucky: No, I mean it. You stay away from her.

Ric: I just want to talk to my wife.

Elizabeth: It's ok. It's --

Ric: Listen, it's amazing. The D.A. has dropped all the charges. I'm a free man. I have a chance to start over.

Elizabeth: How could Scott just drop the charges?

Ric: Insufficient evidence.

Elizabeth: Does Carly know?

Ric: Well, probably not, but I'll make sure that I go over there and I explain to her that I'm willing to make amends for anything --

Elizabeth: Listen to you. In one breath you're talking about making amends, and the next you're ecstatic about getting away with hurting somebody. Is that really reason to celebrate?

Ric: Well, if it gives me the chance to win your love back, yes. Look, can we go someplace else to talk?

Elizabeth: No. No, Ric. You know, you hurt me, but you did so much worse to Carly. And if there were any justice in this world, you'd be in jail right now paying for your crimes. But apparently there isn't, so I just can't care anymore.

Ric: You don't mean that.

Elizabeth: Yes, I mean every word. You're out of my life, Ric, for good. And I guess that means Iím the one who's free. Come on, Lucky.

Jason: The first time I ever saw grief was when Sonny's wife Lily died. It made me understand that bad things happen fast but you live through them slow. Lily was gone in a flash. Her car exploded. But Sonny fell apart for a long time after. He had to relearn how to do everything. You know, the same thing happened with Carly when Michael -- when Michael was born because they thought Michael was going to die, but then it turned out that he was ok. But it wasn't ok for Carly after that. What happened was just -- was too big for her to live through all at once.

Courtney: That's the way this feels, you know. Even though this is only one part of my life, it's like -- it's like the miscarriage -- it's changed everything.

Jason: Losing the baby was my fault, too. If I hadn't --

Courtney: No. Jason, no. You can't blame yourself.

Jason: Then you can't. You canít. It happened. And it hurts. But I know that I can't possibly understand what you're going through. And I know that I'm going to have to give you as much time as you need to get better. I'm not going to rush you.

Courtney: God, I love you so much.

Jason: I love you, too. You know, some people never get to feel that.

Courtney: Thank you for taking me here.

Jason: I'm just trying to tell you that -- that losing something matters. But what we have left matters more.

Sonny: Don't move, Ric.

Ric: Oh.

Sonny: You keep surprising me, sinking lower and lower with every breath.

Ric: Sonny, Baldwin offered me a deal.

Sonny: No, he offered you a chance to lie and victimize a woman and say she asked for it. You know what kind of filth does that, Ric? Do you know?

Ric: What? What kind of filth?

Sonny: A rapist.

Ric: Look, I didn't have a choice, Sonny.

Sonny: Yeah, you had a choice! There's always a choice! But I'm trying to figure out why you keep making the wrong ones, Ric. I think I just figured it out -- because you're a coward.

Ric: Oh, really?

Sonny: Yeah. No?

Ric: Then shoot me.

Sonny: No, shut up!

Ric: Kill me. Finish it.

Sonny: Why would I do that? I'm not going to jail for you. I got a wife and two children to live for. I'm just going to wait and watch, show the world that I have no hate. And then, years from now, when you -- when you think you've finally earned your peace, somebody's going to walk up behind you in the dark and they're going to wrap a wire around your neck. And while you're struggling for your last breath, you're going to hear them say, "This is for Carly." And I'm going to be the one who ordered that execution. And the world will forget Ric Lansing ever existed. And then Iíll be home with my family, safe, asleep next to my wife.

Zander: You're amazing. You fought your way back to us.

Emily: I had to.

Zander: Don't talk. Save your strength. You're going to need it for everything that I got planned.

Emily: Thank you for being here.

Zander: Well, we all sat here and we talked to you and tried to get you to wake up -- your parents, Lucky, Elizabeth, Nikolas.

Emily: You all mean so much to me.

Zander: We love you, Em. I love you. And what happened, you know -- it made me realize that you got to do right by the person that you love.

Emily: I know. And I always will.

Faith: Well, here you are again, not dead. What's the matter? Sonny wasn't feeling like himself today?

Ric: No, he spared me.

Faith: Your brother's getting soft.

Ric: Not really. He made me understand that my life was definitely in his hands. My brother is going to kill me, Faith. He's just biding his time. I need to protect myself, to form alliances.

Faith: Pay your debts?

Ric: Starting with you.

Faith: Too bad I'm out of patience.

Ric: I am doing what you ask. I'm -- Iím considering the possibilities.

Faith: If you do this, you had better be sure it's what you want. Because if it isn't and you hurt me again, I will make you scream so loud the devil will cover his ears. And then I will kill you myself.

Sonny: You all right? Oh, man, I missed all those nights without you.

Carly: I knew that you would come and get me.

Sonny: Yeah.

Carly: You know, trusting you was the only way that I survived.

Sonny: Well, you know what? You keep doing that and I'll always come home, I promise.

Carly: So why'd you scare me like that tonight?

Sonny: I didn't want to, honey. It's just -- you know what Ric deserves. And, you know, I mean, there's things I can't discuss with you. I'm just trying to protect you. You know that.

Carly: But I can still tell you how much you're loved and how much the family needs you. And I can keep asking you to put us first.

Sonny: I will. I can't lose anybody I love anymore, you know? Especially my wife.
