Previously on "General Hospital" --

Faith: I was halfway up the stairs when I heard the glass break. I turned around and came back and saw her lying on the floor.

Ned: There's no evidence of foul play whatsoever. I owe you an apology.

Alexis: I killed Alcazar and I was cognizant of it every second.

Scott: Taggert, she's faking.

Ric: I think we were wonderful last night.

Sonny: Could you be pregnant?

Carly: I'm afraid, ok?

Sonny: Why?

[Knock on door]

Jax: Just a sec. Just put the tray down --

Skye: Oh.

Jax: Skye.

Skye: I'm so sorry. I should have called.

Jax: Yeah, that's probably always a good idea. Come on in.

Skye: Do you want to get changed or something?

Jax: I'm sure this won't take long, will it?
Skye: Well, I just came by to make sure you were all right.

Jax: Yeah, I'm fine.

Skye: Oh, Jax, come on. I mean, your best friend is in restraints. Brenda has disappeared. I know that's got to be hard.

Jax: Don't worry about me and Brenda.

Skye: Oh, it's got to be tough, that's all I'm trying to say, and you don't have to pretend that it isn't, especially with me.

Jax: Look, I appreciate you stopping by, but --

Skye: But now isn't a good time?

Jax: This is -- yeah, this is not a good time.

Skye: Well, I was just coming by to make sure you were handling things ok.

Woman: Did the coffee arrive?

Jax: Not yet. Room service is running a little late. There's a restaurant downstairs that's pretty good.

Woman: Oh. Good idea. I'll get back to you when the deal closes.

Jax: Great. I'll see you soon.

[Door opens and closes]

Skye: Well, I'd say you're handling things pretty good.

Faith: Are you leaving so soon?

Ned: Yeah, I have to get going.

Faith: But can't we just enjoy ourselves a little longer? I mean, it's what my grandmother would have wanted.

Ned: I'm bringing my baby back from the hospital today.

Faith: Here?

Ned: I live here.

Faith: And will she be around for long?

Ned: That's not your concern.

Faith: And I assume you want me gone.

Ned: That should go without saying.

Faith: You're really much colder than you look.

Ned: We work together against Sonny, and the rest of our life is off-limits.

Faith: What about last night?

Ned: Last night is beside the point, and you know that, Faith.

Faith: You're such a romantic.

Ned: I don't want to have to say this again. I don't want you anywhere near my daughter.

Faith: Is this because you're afraid the crazy lawyer lady is going to freak out again?

Ned: If you give Alexis one moment's trouble, you're on your own against Sonny, so, please, be gone before I come back.

Faith: Oh! God.

Alexis: How did it go last night? Scott must have been ecstatic when you showed him the files and told him everything.

Cameron: Feeling a little paranoid, are we?

Alexis: Are the police on their way? Did you come here to keep me calm?

Cameron: Delusional, too.

Alexis: Did you turn me in or not?

Cameron: I covered for you.

Alexis: I've been a wreck.

Cameron: Well, what else is new? I needed time to think.

Alexis: I guess I shouldn't have written anything down.

Cameron: No question.

Alexis: And any decent attorney would know that the search was illegal.

Cameron: Maybe. But if Scott had seen your notes on disassociate identity defenses --

Alexis: I'm glad you were there. You do know that you are now an accessory after the fact in about 15 different ways?

Cameron: Oh, yeah.

Alexis: And that you could lose your license, your job, and even end up in jail?

Cameron: Sounds about right.

Alexis: Why are you doing this for me?

Cameron: You risked everything for the sake of your child. I admire that.

Alexis: But I killed a man.

Cameron: In self-defense.

Alexis: Scott's not going to buy that.

Cameron: You already lost your sister because of Alcazar. You shouldn't have to lose your daughter, too. I have some idea what that's like.

Alexis: So this is because of Zander?

Cameron: Yeah. I know it sounds completely irrational, but I have this feeling that if I can help you keep your baby --

Alexis: That you'll get him back?

Cameron: Maybe Lukeís right. Maybe I am as crazy as my patients.
Alexis: I think that's entirely possible. So what do we do now?

Cameron: Don't know. Baldwin's not going to give up.

Alexis: Even with the videotape?

Cameron: He's determined to have a trial.

Alexis: Why? Why? All he has to do is tell a judge that Iím crazy, I'll be committed, and he gets to keep his job. He's already botched this case in a public way. Why does he think he's going to win now?

Cameron: Well, gee, maybe he thinks you're faking.

Scott: We need strong expert testimony for the prosecution. We got to cut through this split personality thing. Ok, call it whatever you want. We just got to prove that Alexis is faking. $4,000? What, are you a crook? All right, all right, calm down, calm down. You just tell the jury what I want them to hear. Yeah. I'll be in touch. Good-bye.

Taggert: $4,000? Are you out of your mind?

Scott: Well, if it isn't Mr. Big ears.

Taggert: Look, you got voters out there in the unemployment line, and you're already thinking of ways to spend the taxpayers' money by having a second trial.

Scott: They want a trial just like I do.

Taggert: By paying a guy to say whatever you want? The jury will see through it, and so will the public.

Scott: Not if I pull it off.

Sonny: The shipment land ok?

Jason: Yeah, it's on time and complete. Benny said Morales called. He's pushing to renegotiate.

Sonny: Well, he claims to be taking a bigger risk at his end. He wants more of the profits. I was thinking of maybe sending you to go meet with him and -- if that's all right.
Jason: I don't usually handle negotiations.

Sonny: I can't get away -- Bennyís heart attack and all that. I was thinking it might be a good idea for you to get out of town for a little while.

Jason: No, it's not a good time.

Sonny: Is this about Courtney?

Jason: No, it's about business. There's trouble.

Courtney: Hey.

Carly: Hey. So, any word on or from Jason?

Courtney: Not yet.

Carly: Well, hang in there. He'll come around. Just give him a little bit of time.

Courtney: Yeah, well, that, I can give him.

Carly: Oh, hey, can you make that tea?

Courtney: Are you serious?

Carly: Herbal, actually?

Courtney: So, what, are you swearing off caffeine?

Carly: I might be pregnant.

Jason: There's a shooter heading in.

Sonny: Who's the hit?

Jason: Don't know.

Sonny: Well, there's a lot of tension between the five families.

Jason: Well, there's a lot of tension between you and Faith right now.

Sonny: Any idea who the shooter is?

Jason: It's that guy nobody's ever seen.

Sonny: Sam, the one with no last name, who took out Chavez?

Jason: Yeah, that's right.

Sonny: God! Must be a top-dollar hit.

Jason: Sounds that way.

Sonny: Ok. See what you can do to confirm. All we know now is we didn't call him.

Courtney: Are you serious?

Carly: Well, it could just be wishful thinking.

Courtney: Oh, Carly, this is the best news I have heard in forever.

Ric: What news could that be?

Courtney: Can I tell him?

Carly: I -- yeah, Michael made his first goal in soccer today.

Ric: Congratulations.

Courtney: Yeah, isn't that great?

Ric: Yeah.

Carly: Yeah, but I'll be so much happier when he can play outdoors and he won't hurt himself on that turf.

Ric: Yeah. I have a tough time imagining you as a soccer mom.

Courtney: Carly is a wonderful soccer mom.

Ric: Yeah, well, I'm sure you guys are the experts. Me, I'm just in charge of colleges, which you have two interviews I need --

Carly: Ok, you know what? Courtney does not need my husband running her life, thank you very much.
Courtney: That is absolutely right.

Ric: You know, I'm just doing my job.

Carly: Hmm.

Courtney: Listen, I'm not leaving Port Charles anytime soon. And when I do go to college, I'll pay for it myself.

Ric: Fine. I just won't tell Sonny what happened here.

Courtney: You can tell him whatever you want. Oh, Carly, Iím so sorry. I almost blabbed.

Carly: That's ok. It's -- it could be the stomach flu. I haven't taken a test or anything yet, so --

Courtney: Well, does Sonny know?

Carly: Yeah, well, he knows it's a possibility, but seeing what happened last time, we don't want to get our hopes up.

Courtney: So you just aren't letting yourself get happy yet.

Carly: Yeah. That's right. Also, I can't stop thinking about Catherine.

Courtney: Yeah, it's so weird how she died visiting your club.

Carly: I know. Maybe it was supposed to be that way. It was Catherineís dream --

Courtney: Listen, Carly, are you still ok with me working at the club?

Carly: Well, why wouldn't I be?

Courtney: I don't know. I just -- I thought it might be kind of awkward, you know, with everything that's going on with Sonny and Jason.

Carly: No, Courtney, you have to stay there. What are you talking about?

Courtney: Well, I -- it's -- I can find another job. It's no problem, really.

Carly: Ok, Courtney, Courtney, if you don't work at my club, then you won't have the opportunity to run into Jason. And if you don't run into Jason, how is he going to realize what he's missing if he doesn't realize what he's missing? Then he's not going to know that he made the biggest mistake of his entire life.

Courtney: Ok, ok, ok, ok. You win, you win. I'll never quit, ever.

Carly: Good.

Courtney: Ok.

Carly: Great. Well, I'll see you tonight. And wear something fabulous.

Gia: Thanks, Peg.

Zander: You forgot your wallet, right? Oldest trick in the book.

Gia: My wallet is right here, thank you very much. I just didn't realize Bobbie raised the prices.

Zander: Aren't you loaded from that modeling gig?

Gia: Well, how do you think Iím paying for law school? Nikolas paid for everything else.

Zander: Welcome back to the real world.

Gia: Look, can you wait here for one second? I'm going to run out to the cash machine.

Zander: You don't have to pay. Just tell them that you had a fly on your scrambled eggs or something.

Gia: But I had waffles.

Zander: Same difference.

Gia: No, no, no, no, I ate them all.

Zander: Courtney? Could you come here for a second?

Gia: What are you doing?

Zander: No, just wait a second.

Gia: No, no, don't you --

Zander: We got a problem over here. I'm paying for Gia's breakfast. No matter what she says, don't take her money.

Courtney: Ok, got it.

Gia: That was cute.

Zander: What'd you think I was going to say to her?

Gia: Look, I'll pay you back, all right?

Zander: No hurry. I kind of like you owing me.

Gia: What's wrong?

Zander: I don't need this.

Gia: Look, just don't start throwing chairs, ok?

Zander: Coming here to check up on me?

Cameron: No, I need a moment with Gia.

Zander: Don't let me get in your way.

Cameron: I wonít.

Gia: You could be a little nicer to him.

Cameron: I'm here about Alexis.

Gia: He's your son. Don't you even care?

Cameron: Baldwin wants to drag her through a trial, put her away for life.

Gia: Did you hear anything I just said?

Cameron: Maybe this wasn't a good idea.

Gia: What do you want?

Cameron: Baldwin works closely with your brother.
Gia: I'm not breaking into anyone's office.

Cameron: Well, that idea hadn't occurred to me, but maybe you could talk to him about finding out Scottís strategy.

Gia: You want me to use Marcus to help Alexis?

Cameron: Well, there's been a little friction between the two of them lately.

Gia: And you want me to capitalize on that?

Cameron: If Alexis loses this case, Gia, she loses the baby. You don't want that to happen.

Gia: Maybe you should worry about your own kid instead of Alexis' kid all the time.

Edward: Are you all right?

Faith: I'm glad you came.

Edward: I don't like meeting here. It's far too risky.

Faith: I know, I know, and you came anyway. Thank you, Edward.

Edward: You told me it was important.

Faith: Yes. Well, you see, it's just that Iíve been so upset. It hit me when my grandmother died.

Edward: Mm-hmm.

Faith: What am I doing with my life?

Edward: I know you miss her terribly, dear. I know.

Faith: I know. I always meant to be closer, you know, but did I take the time? If I had it to do again, I would just --

Edward: Well, if you would just focus on our plan, I guarantee you, you'll feel much better.

Faith: Well, I would like to, but it's hard when I know what we're doing would break her heart.

Edward: All right, my dear, you have put on a very good show. Now tell me what you want, hmm?

Ned: I want what's best for you and your daughter, you know that.

Alexis: We've had this discussion.

Ned: I really want to take Kristina home with me today.

Alexis: Ned, no. Please, please, no.

Ned: She really needs to be out of the hospital.

Alexis: It's too soon.

Ned: She's been ready to leave for weeks now.

Alexis: She'll be confused. She'll wonder where I am.

Ned: Well, then, we'll come by and visit, you know that.

Alexis: What about Faith?

Ned: Faith will have nothing to do with her.

Alexis: You got to promise me, Ned. You can't just say that to me --

Ned: I promise, I promise. I'm not going to say it. I promise she will have nothing to do with her.

Alexis: What happens if she gets sick?

Ned: Well, I'm at the gatehouse. Alan and Monica are right up the driveway.

Alexis: Who's going to take care of her?

Ned: I will, at first.

Alexis: And some nanny that Iíve never met?
Ned: I've already done the interviews.

Alexis: I can't -- I can't do it.

Ned: So, you want to keep her in the hospital nursery for the whole trial?

Alexis: There may not be a trial.

Ned: Baldwin's out to get you. He's going to make this last as long as he possibly can, but you -- you need to take care of yourself, Alexis.

Alexis: Because I'm crazy. It's ok. You can say it, Ned.

Ned: Kristina needs full-time care, and you can't give her that right now.

Alexis: I'm afraid that you'll take her and you won't bring her back.

Ned: Come on. You know me better than that. Please, just do this for your daughter. Sign the papers so I can take her home.

Alexis: I canít. I canít.

Skye: Not that you owe me any explanation, but don't you think maybe it's a little too soon --

Jax: Skye, there's really nothing to explain. Andrea and I were just working on a business deal together.

Skye: Oh. Then I show up and ruin everything.

Jax: I wouldn't go that far, but thanks for your concern.

Skye: You know, I am really in no position to throw stones, believe me.

Jax: Listen, do we really have to discuss this?

Skye: But sleeping with strangers -- Jax, I know it can get you through the night, it may even be fun, but we both know that it's a bad idea.

Jax: Ok, ok. You really don't need to worry about me.

Skye: No, listen to me. You think that, ok, just this once, that it'll be good, no complications, no pain. And then you wake up with this person, this stranger -- and, believe me, everybody looks worse in the morning -- and you close your eyes and you open them and he's still there, and you realize you don't even know how this person likes his coffee. Believe me, it costs you more than you think.

Jax: I can afford it.

Skye: A stranger can never give you what you really need.

Jax: Why not?

Skye: She can't give you love.

Jax: Well, that's exactly the point, Skye. Love isn't an option for me anymore. I'm done.

Skye: You expect me to believe that you've given up on love?

Jax: That's right.

Skye: Jax, the white knight? Jax, the hero?

Jax: Why should I try to rescue women when Iím not good at it?

Skye: Since when?

Jax: I had no idea how sick Alexis was.

Skye: Nobody did.

Jax: I couldn't save Brenda from Alcazar or anyone else, but now God knows where she is.

Skye: Oh, Jax, come on. You can't blame yourself for that.

Jax: I couldn't keep my promises to you, Skye. I hurt you and that was the last thing that you needed. I'll always regret what happened between us.

Skye: So will I.

Jax: So Iím going back to doing what I do best -- making money, chasing after a deal.

Skye: Not to mention the beautiful woman.

Jax: Well, I've always liked the chase more than the kill.

Skye: You expect me to believe one word of this?

Jax: You haven't known me for very long.

Skye: No, but I know you for the wonderful man that you really are.

Jax: It's an illusion, Skye.

Skye: Jax, love is more important than any business deal. You taught me that.

Jax: Well, not for me. Not anymore.

Skye: I don't believe it.

Jax: Believe it, Skye. I am not the man that you think I am. You deserve better.

[Knock on door]

Taggert: Baldwin will be back in a while.

Gia: Actually, I'm here to see you.

Taggert: What's the problem?

Gia: Why does there always got to be a problem?

Taggert: Mm-hmm.

Gia: Oh, you could be happy that Iím not breaking into some office or destroying evidence or something.

Taggert: Or dragging a dead body around.

Gia: Look, Baldwinís pulling out all the stops to convict Alexis. I know you've been concerned about his tactics for a long time, and she doesn't even have a defense team together. She's so sick, you know, I don't think she could even deal with the trial.

Taggert: What do you need me to do?

Gia: What's Baldwinís strategy? What does he have on Alexis?

Cameron: About before -- I was wrong to shut you out.

Zander: Gia laid the guilt on, right?

Cameron: I want us to get past what happened.

Zander: But you can't, right? You just -- you keep seeing me, and it keeps coming back.

Cameron: We've already lost too many years together.

Zander: And whose fault is that?

Cameron: Mine. No question.

Zander: So what's the catch?

Cameron: Most people don't get a second chance. We have one. I don't want to waste it.

Zander: When I met Emily and we went away to Canada --

Cameron: The young woman you dragged out of the rave at gunpoint?

Zander: I kept stealing cars, and they kept breaking down, and we end up stuck on the side of the road with all sorts of people after us.

Cameron: Yeah, I heard the F.B.I. was involved.

Zander: I kept thinking that you'd drive by, you know? That you'd been hunting up in Canada, and that you'd drive by and there Iíd be, by myself on the side of the road.

Cameron: In a stolen car with a hostage.

Zander: And you didn't even stop then. Even in my imagination, you just kept driving.

Cameron: I don't want us to live in the past.

Zander: I'm trying to get over my past, and you're a part of that.

Ned: Kristina needs to get out of this hospital. You know that.

Alexis: I have to be able to trust you, Ned. This can't be a trick.

Ned: You've read the forms. All it does is give me the right to take Kristina out of the hospital. It says that I will take care of her until you're better. That's it.  I'm on your side. You know that. I have been from the start.

Alexis: My daughter is all that I have.

Ned: I know. And I know you want to give her a good life.

Alexis: I do. That's what I'm trying to do.

Ned: By leaving her in the hospital? I mean, what kind of life is that? And who's going to -- who's going to hear her when she starts trying to say words? A nurse? Hospital volunteer? The janitor? Who's going to sing to her every single night? Pick her up when she cries?

Alexis: I want to.

Ned: I know you do, and you will, but you can't right now. You can't right now. Kristina's getting very good care here at the hospital, but she needs to be with people who want her. You never had that. Neither did I. Now's your chance to give your daughter more. Give Kristina what you never had -- a real life in a real home.

Alexis: Take good care of my baby.

Ned: Come here.

Alexis: Please.

Ned: Yeah. I will. I'll take good care of her.

Faith: I'm doing the best I can with Ned, but all he thinks about is that baby.

Edward: I know. That child has been a problem right from the start.

Faith: And he's bringing the brat here. Can you imagine?

Edward: I'll bet that makes it inconvenient for you, huh?

Faith: Ah, yes. He practically threw me out of bed. He's gone to the hospital to get her right now.

Edward: Ned's bringing Kristina here today?

Faith: Mm-hmm. Does that mess with our plans, or what?

Edward: Oh, that certainly doesn't help. Hmm.

Faith: How are we going to undercut Ned with a baby in the house, especially since he doesn't want me anywhere near it?

Edward: Ned told you this?

Faith: To my face, repeatedly. This kid is a complication that we don't need.

Edward: I certainly agree with you on that. Hmm.

Faith: So you see the problem.

Edward: Mm-hmm. All right, you know, I am -- Iím very grateful that you asked me over here today, dear.

Faith: Can you help?

Edward: Hmm. Well, you -- you better go get changed, and Iíll handle Ned.

Faith: I knew I could count on you.

Edward: Always. All right, run along.

Edward: We have to mobilize -- now.

Carly: So you still think a party for Catherine is a good idea?

Sonny: If you want, but you barely knew the woman.

Carly: I know, but her -- her death has hit me harder than I thought.

Sonny: Maybe you're just a little more emotional these days, you know.

Carly: You're not going to stop until I go get a test, are you?

Sonny: No, I'm not.

Carly: Fine. I will.

Sonny: All right.

Carly: But I just keep thinking about Catherine. She had dreams, and she could never see them through, and I just want to honor her life. I want to honor her dreams.

Sonny: What did you know about her life?

Carly: I knew enough. I knew about the best and the worst night she ever saw, and I knew that her husband was considered to be a very bad man but never to her. And I also knew she had great happiness, and then she lost it all and she was never bitter about it. And I also know that even though we only met one time, she and I -- we are so much alike, Sonny.

Sonny: If she's anything like you, Iíd have liked her.

Carly: What do you want?

Sonny: You have no business here.

Faith: What happened before -- the things that I said -- I wanted to apologize.

Carly: You don't think we're going to buy that, do you?

Faith: My grandmother was very fond of you.

Sonny: They only met once.

Faith: But she listened. Look, you -- you understood the history of the place. You appreciated what she was trying to do.

Carly: You're laying it on a little thick here, Faith.

Faith: You brought her dream back to life. I just wanted to say thank you.

Carly: You believe a word that she said?

Sonny: Not for a minute.

Taggert: Does anyone else know you're asking about Baldwinís game plan?

Gia: Dr. Lewis suggested it. I thought it was a bad idea at first.

Taggert: It may be.

Gia: It isn't fair to you, so if there's any problem -- but I know you don't like the way Baldwinís dealing with this case.

Taggert: I've never made any secret about that.

Gia: And Alexis has been so supportive of me.

Taggert: You helped her out, too.

Gia: But I just keep thinking about her baby. I mean, what happens if Alexis goes to prison?

Taggert: So you think it's ok that she committed murder?

Gia: Well, do you think her confession will stand up in court?

Taggert: I'm a cop, not an attorney.

Gia: Alexis is mentally ill. She isn't responsible.

Taggert: What if Alexis isn't mentally ill?

Gia: She's been diagnosed by at least one psychiatrist.

Taggert: What if Baldwin isn't buying this whole multiple personality diagnosis?

Gia: It's a real condition, whether he likes it or not.

Taggert: What if Baldwin thinks she's faking?

Alexis: Did you see Kristina on the way out? Is she all right?

Jax: Alexis?

Alexis: Yeah? Yes. Ned took Kristina home. I just wanted to know if she was all right.

Jax: Oh, she's well enough to go home? That's great.

Alexis: I hope Ned knows what to do with her, that's all.

Jax: Oh, I'm sure he'll just feed her lots of ice cream.

Alexis: That's not making me feel any better.

Jax: It was a joke. I was kidding.

Alexis: I know.

Jax: I'm sure Ned will be fine. He'll give her everything she needs and more.

Alexis: I know. You're right.

Jax: Yeah. He knows what he's doing.

Alexis: Ok. Yeah, I know. I just can't help worrying, I'm sorry.

Jax: Don't be.

Alexis: I just never expected to be in this situation.

Jax: Well, you won't be for much longer. I stopped by to tell you that Iíve arranged for your attorney.

Alexis: Thank you.

Jax: Now, is there anything else you need? Chocolate, perhaps?

Alexis: No, thanks.

Jax: I guess champagne's out of the question.

Alexis: You know, Brendaís a fool, in case you were wondering.

Jax: Well, you know, Brendaís history.

Alexis: You expect me to believe that?

Jax: Yes, I do.

Cameron: Jax?

Alexis: Did you speak to Baldwin?

Cameron: Not yet.

Jax: Alexis will have the best defense money can buy.

Cameron: Good. She's going to need it.

Alexis: So you'll check with Ned and then you'll call me?

Jax: Yes, I will.

Alexis: Thanks.

Jax: All right, Iíll be touch, ok?

Cameron: You have loyal friends.

Alexis: I do.

Cameron: Rich friends.

Alexis: All the money in the world isn't going to get me out of this.

Ned: Home, sweet home. Stay asleep. I'll get you all settled in.

Edward: Surprise, Ned.

[Edward laughs]

Ned: Who told you?

Edward: Welcome home, Kristina. You don't have to thank me. You don't have to thank me. I'm just doing my bit for the newest little Quartermaine.

Ned: Oh. You must have called the hospital.

Edward: You see, no one could think of bringing a newborn home to a bachelor pad. And, Ned, what difference does it make who told me? Kristina is family, and it's my business to be sure that she's taken care of.

Ned: We've been through this, Grandfather.

Edward: There's a video monitor that's all set up and working, and look, look, look -- this bed is absolutely state-of-the-art with extra support for the little neck and head. And look, these mobiles have been proven to stimulate early reading skills.

Ned: Reading skills? Really?

Edward: Mm-hmm, and you will need a full staff of nannies, given the baby's condition and the mother's health, so I have three women coming in for --

Ned: I know what you're doing.

Edward: Well, all I'm trying to do is --

Ned: I know what you're doing. You're building a nest for your new heir.

Edward: You had a chance to raise a child, Ned. And where is she? She is in Brooklyn with the Cerullos and all because you couldn't accept the responsibility of becoming a parent.

Ned: That's not true, and you know it.

Edward: And now you have a second chance and a second child. And how have you started? You brought this kid home without even thinking.

Ned: I don't need you to help me make my decisions.

Edward: Where were you planning for her to sleep? In a shoe box? Do you have anything in the kitchen for the kid to eat? What if she doesn't sleep through the night? Do you have any idea how to take care of a baby?

Ned: Kristina's room is upstairs and it's all ready. Second door on the left, if you'd bothered to check.

Edward: I did, and I can't believe you weren't willing to do better for your child.

Ned: I don't want your help.

Edward: I will not allow another Quartermaine baby to slip through our fingers.

Ned: And I will not allow you to run my daughter's life.

Edward: Oh, you won't? Then who will if I don't? You, who can't even make a commitment to anything or anybody? What -- what about Alexis? I told you that the Cassadine instability would show itself, and, by God, it has. I just hope that that little tyke over there doesn't realize that her mother is a raving lunatic.

Ned: Just keep your voice down, she's sleeping.

Edward: Do you want Alexis to raise her? Thank God you didn't marry her.

Ned: I don't need this.

Edward: Oh, Ned, you need my help. How are you going to run E.L.Q. and bring down Sonny Corinthos and bring up a baby with health problems? You need my help, Ned, and you need grandmother's help, too. Oh, Lila is so thrilled to have Kristina come home and live here with us.

Ned: See, that's it.

Edward: What?

Ned: That's an all-time low, even for you. Trying to use grandmother to manipulate me. That's it. You're gone.

Edward: No -- no, I -- anything that will help Kristina --

Ned: Out. Out now. Here. Take him with you.

Edward: He will settle down, baby. I'll see you later.

Ned: Go!

Edward: Oh! Ned --

Ned: Yeah.

Cameron: Must've been hard to let Ned take your baby.

Alexis: It was. It was horrible. But I did what I thought was right. I'm worried that he might be suspicious.

Cameron: Because you let him take Kristina home?

Alexis: No, because I didn't flip into my sister.

Cameron: He'll think you're getting better.

Alexis: You think so?

Cameron: You have a great doctor. What else could he think?

Alexis: It's good you can make jokes right now.

Cameron: Ned doesn't suspect anything.

Alexis: Are you sure?

Cameron: Look at it this way -- at least you're not faking the paranoia.

Gia: Dr. Lewis, Iím glad I caught you.

Cameron: Did you find out anything?

Gia: Scott Baldwin thinks you're faking.

Alexis: Oh, my God.

Cameron: Are you sure?

Gia: Yeah, he's got all sorts of experts to tear you to shreds on the stand.

Cameron: We get the idea.

Gia: Is it true? Are you faking?

Alexis: Gia, how can you say something like that to me? What on earth would make me want to do something like that to my daughter? To everyone around me?

Gia: I'm sorry. It must be terrible for you.

Alexis: It's all right, Gia. I just didn't expect something like that from you. I expect it from Baldwin but not you.

Sonny: It's too convenient the way Catherine died -- while Faith was in this room.

Carly: Do you think Faith killed her?

Sonny: Well, it depends whether, you know, there was something in it for Faith.

Carly: Well, it's certainly not Catherineís fault that she's got a granddaughter who's a psychopath, so I still want to honor her life.

Sonny: All right.

Carly: Hey.

Courtney: Hey.

Sonny: Hey.

Courtney: I'm a little early. I'll just help you set up, ok?

Carly: Great. Thanks.

Sonny: Is that -- is that the way you always dress for work?

Courtney: When I feel like it, yeah.

Sonny: Well, maybe this hostess job --

Carly: Sonny -- don't.

Sonny: You know what? You both make it worse. I'm not joking.

Courtney: Hey.

Jason: Uh -- the club isn't open yet. Why are you here so early?

Courtney: I'm glad to see you, too.

Jason: Sonny and I will just meet someplace else next time.

Courtney: It doesn't matter. I've already made my choice. You know how I feel about you.

Jax: Yeah, I'll take three million shares. Uh-huh, that's right. Well, if they go down any lower, then by the end of the day, I'll just buy the company. Right. Thanks. It's good to be back.

[Knock on door]

Jax: I'm busy. Call my secretary.

Andrea: It's me, Andrťa. The deal closed.

Jax: Well, that was quick.

Andrea: You're now the proud owner of Haskell and Sons, makers of tools and dies and a million other gadgets that people use every day.

Jax: Wow, sold for almost nothing.

Andrea: Well, they panicked, just like you said they would. And now you hold the life's work of one Albert Haskell right there in your hands.

Jax: It's just a deal, nothing more.

Andrea: What are you planning to do with the company?

Jax: Break it up, sell the bits.

Andrea: Well, I think it's time to celebrate, don't you think?

Jax: You know, maybe some other time.

Andrea: Ok, I understand. But congratulations, all the same.

Jax: Thanks. It's what I do best.

Alexis: How do you think Baldwin figured it out?

Cameron: He suspects, that's all.

Alexis: What if I can't fool the experts? They'll take away my daughter forever.

Faith: You must be Sam.

Jason: I found out more about the shooter.

Faith: I just heard it from one of the staff. Carly is having a wake for my grandmother downstairs, Friday evening. It used to be a speakeasy down there, site of a terrible shootout. I want history to repeat itself.

Sonny: You're sure they're bringing in Sam?

Jason: The guy's already in town.

On the next "General Hospital" --

Jax: It's a simple business transaction -- cash for pleasure.

Elizabeth: Are you ok? Caryís pregnant, isn't she?

Sonny: The day I found out she could be pregnant, a hit man shows up in town -- the timing could not be worse.

Sam: It's going to cost you.

Faith: I can afford to pay whatever it takes to get rid of Sonny.
