General Hospital Transcript Tuesday 12/24/02
>> Previously on "General Hospital" --
Luke: I know someone who gave up the life. She got herself out. It can be done.
Brenda: Where are we going?
Jax: Our flight plan says Cancun. We're actually flying to the Caribbean.
Scott: Sonny Corinthos -- you mean that's who called you?
Ida: No, I told you, he never said his name.
Taggert: If neither of your bribed that witness to leave town, then who did?
Coleman: We're partners now, guys, now more than ever.
Cameron: How's Kristina doing?
Alexis: Really well, thank you.
Cameron: Nice you'll be able to spend Christmas Eve with her.
Alexis: Where else would I be?
Cameron: In a courthouse, police station, scene of the crime maybe. For somebody who couldn't be dragged out of this room with wild horses, you've been pretty immersed in the Alcazar case recently.
Alexis: You sound like Ned.
Cameron: Is Ned wrong?
Alexis: Why did you come here spreading such Christmas cheer? Don't you have better ways to occupy yourself other than gratuitous psychoanalysis?
Cameron: Yeah. Maybe there's something better I could be doing for your daughter's first Christmas.
Bobbie: That's good. Just if you can get that string out of the middle of it so it's straight down.
Georgie: All right, I'm --
Bobbie: Hey, Lucas.
Georgie: Oh, my God.
Bobbie: Oh, honey, careful!
Georgie: I'm -- I'm fine.
Bobbie: Yeah, well, I don't want you falling or anything happening to you. You are pivotal to the Christmas party this year.
Edward: Can we go yet?
Ned: Grandmother is expecting to meet you here, so you just stand her up at your own risk.
Edward: Why does Lila insist on putting me through this? I put in an appearance; I gave them a generous contribution. Now what I really want to do is go home and spend the evening with my family.
Alan: That's the spirit. Scrooge has nothing on you.
Bobbie: Oh, Edward, come on now. This party is for the children. They've all been looking forward to this for weeks.
Monica: Hello, everybody.
Alan: Hey, where were you? They were already --
Monica: Tony has just been called into emergency surgery. Therefore, we have no Santa Claus.
Edward: Oh, no.
Elizabeth: Hi. Any chance your brother's going to get out by Christmas?
Courtney: I don't know. Sonny promised Michael last night after they arrested him, but Scott Baldwin made it sound like there wasn't a chance.
Elizabeth: "As the hunt for prime suspect Brenda Barrett continues, Sonny Corinthos, with longtime associate Jason Morgan, are in police custody, charged --"
Ric: Do you mind if I look at that?
Courtney: Yeah, you know, what that doesn't say is that the police showed up at my brother's house last night and handcuffed him in front of his little boy. As far as I can tell, they don't even have any proof at all. This is all about, you know, Scott Baldwin hating my brother and Jason.
A.J.: I know what you are doing, okay? I've done it myself. There's not enough booze in the world that will take this pain away. You know that as well as I do --
Skye: Ugh, blah, blah -- A.J., look, I -- you know, I don't have the stamina to do that whole moral inventory searching A.A. thing, all right? Look, I -- I hurt all the time, and drinking just makes me feel good. That's -- that's all that I want right now.
A.J.: Skye, our plan is working.
Skye: Our plan?
Skye: Your plan is working, A.J. Jason is going to go away for life, out of Courtney's life for good, and Jax and Brenda are going to go off into the sunset together. That's really great for you.
A.J.: Would you just keep it down? Are you trying to screw this up for the both of us? Is that what you're trying to do?
Skye: You know what? Just show me a little gratitude, all right? With enough money, lies, and hard work, you -- you're making Jason go away for something he didn't even do. Well, enjoy your triumph and don't tell me what to do, all right?
Carly: Hey. What you doing?
Carly: Writing -- oh, for Santa. So, want to play a game? No?
Michael: What time is it?
Carly: What time is it? Well, I think it's still too early for the reindeer to come.
Michael: Daddy promised he'd be home on Christmas.
Carly: And he will be, sweetie, just like he promised.
Sonny: As soon as they issue the order, we'll just post bail and we can get out of here.
Taggert: It's Christmas Eve, Sonny. You know, past history tells me it's going to be real tough to find a judge with enough Christmas spirit to order an issue of release tonight. Looks like you're spending the holidays with us. Merry Christmas.
Jax: Listen -- we don't want to be disturbed.
Bellhop: Yes, Sir. Thank you.
Jax: Thank you very much. Well, we made it.
Brenda: You know customs knew that our passports were fake, right?
Jax: We're here, aren't we?
Brenda: Yeah, but too many people know about this. Did you see the guy, the bellhop guy? He was just watching me. You know, he kept watching me.
Jax: What -- what do you mean, watching you?
Brenda: I mean he was watching me. He was staring at me. You didn't see that? What if he recognized us?
Jax: Hey! What the hell's going on here?
Jax: Why are you so interested in the woman I'm with?
Bellhop: I swear, I meant no disrespect. Please, I need this job. I'll apologize. Just don't tell my boss.
Brenda: Jax, it's okay.
Jax: I'm sorry. We've had a long flight, so just -- just forget about this and so will I, okay?
Bellhop: Thank you, Sir. Thank you.
Jax: All right. Be on your way. Nothing -- just some kid taken by the sight of your beauty.
Brenda: You know what? Forget it. We have to go back.
Jax: No --
Brenda: This isn't right.
Jax: No, no, no, no --
Brenda: I can feel it.
Jax: We're safe!
Brenda: We shouldn't be here.
Jax: Listen to me, Brenda. It's safe here, okay?
Jax: We do have some decisions to make, though, about the future and what you want that to be because we can't go back.
Brenda: You think I killed Luis?
Jax: As long as the evidence points against you, there's not much we can do.
Skye: It came upon a midnight clear oh -- not so clear after
Skye: Whoo. Pretty. Is -- is it snowing where you are, Jax? Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.
Felicia: You look good.
Bobbie: You do. You do. Really festive.
Lucas: Maybe if he smiled.
Ned: I can think of a lot of adjectives, but "jolly" isn't one of them.
Monica: No, no, come on, come on. He -- it's perfect.
Edward: I look ridiculous. I'm telling you people something -- this is below and beneath the call of duty.
Monica: Okay, Edward, put a sock in it. Just remember, this isn't for you. It is for the children.
Felicia: Right. The children are going to be thrilled, you'll see.
Edward: Find somebody else.
Felicia: You'll make a wonderful Santa Claus.
Monica: Yes, you are.
Felicia: You will!
Bobbie: Edward, lighten up. It's not exactly typecasting, is it?
Girl: It's Santa!
Edward: Ho, ho, ho! Ho! Hmm.
Nurse: Be careful. This really is a little soon for this.
Nurse: In fact, if it weren't for Dr. Lewis, this wouldn't be happening right now at all.
Alexis: Okay. Hey. Hi.
Nurse: Merry Christmas.
Alexis: Thank you. Hi, sweetheart. My angel. Oh. Hi, baby. Merry Christmas, angel. This is the best Christmas present I've ever had. Thank you. Hey. Oh, I know. Hello, sweetheart. Hello, angel.
Jason: Why are they going to keep holding us if they're not going to ask us any questions?
Sonny: Gives them an excuse to keep the cuffs on. It's not enough for Taggert to drag me out of my home in front of my child. Now he's going to lock us up until our arms fall off. What happened with Brenda? You didn't say anything.
Jason: Okay. I got Brenda out of the Quartermaines', brought her back to her place so she could grab some stuff and -- Jax snuck up behind me and knocked me unconscious.
Sonny: Well, you know what? We got to give him some credit. He got Brenda out of the country, you and me charged with murder, locked up away from my family on Christmas Eve. And I got to tell you something -- that's what bothers me the most. I promised Michael that I'd -- I'd be home for Christmas. Now they're going to make me a liar.
Courtney: Sonny's in jail on Christmas Eve. Don't you want to -- I don't know -- tell him that you're thinking of him?
Mike: All we're going to do is fight.
Courtney: Okay. Then fight if that's the way you show you love each other. It's better than staying away.
Mac: Well, I assume you're here to see Sonny. You'll have to go in one at a time. Let's go. Step in here. Jason, let's go outside. Come on in, Mike. Well, in the spirit of the holiday, I'll give you a choice. You want to be locked in the cage or chained to a desk?
Mac: Let's go.
Mac: Taggert, I'm going to the hospital Christmas party. If there's any trouble, page me.
Courtney: Merry Christmas.
Mike: How you doing?
Sonny: Well, considering it's Christmas Eve and I'm in lockup, I guess I'm doing okay. You look better.
Mike: Thanks -- I think.
Sonny: Did you knock off the drinking?
Mike: Cut back.
Sonny: Need some money?
Mike: I came to see you because that's what your sister wanted.
Sonny: My sister. Well, you know, it's -- do you realize it's been a year since I found out the truth about my sister?
Mike: I remember.
Sonny: And you remember how furious I was? I didn't want to hear your lies, I didn't want to hear your explanations -- same way you treated me when I pretended to be dead.
Mike: What -- what is the point in going over this again?
Sonny: Well, I was hoping that we wouldn't. I was just -- I was thinking we could just call it even instead.
Felicia: Your turn's coming up pretty soon, okay?
Carolers: Deck the halls with boughs of holly fa-la-la-la-la la-la la la 'tis the season to be jolly fa-la-la-la-la la-la la la
Felicia: Where are you? Look, let me see you. Come here.
Georgie: Oh, come on. It looked way better on Maxie.
Felicia: Can you just get out here and let me take a look at you, please? You make the perfect little elf!
Georgie: I look like a dork. Will you still make me wear the hat?
Felicia: Oh, honey, it's for a good cause, and Maxie's sick and you said that you --
Georgie: No, Maxie's playing sick because she wants to get out of elf duty. She knows how stupid this looks. And look -- look, the kids don't even care. All they care about is Santa.
Felicia: And Santa needs a helper, and you said that you would do it. Remember when Robin did it and Emily and Elizabeth and Amy? They all felt like a bunch of dorks, but they did it anyway. They made a lot of children happy, and you were one of them. So in order to thank them, you get out there and continue on with the tradition. So, go!
Carolers: 'Tis the season to be jolly
Georgie: Oh --
Lucas: Oh, hey. You look fantastic.
Georgie: For an elf.
Lucas: No. A beautiful elf.
Sonny: I'm sorry, you know, for making you grieve. It had to be done. You got hurt, and it wasn't my intention.
Mike: Are you asking my forgiveness?
Mike: Because you refuse to ask for anything.
Sonny: No, because it's what I -- you know, I did what I had to do.
Mike: Michael, it's the same thing. You don't ask to be understood and you don't admit that you were wrong.
Sonny: I wasn't.
Mike: I know, because that's who you are and that's how you think. And that's hard to live with, Michael. But I don't see that I've got any other choice. So, let's call it even.
Mike: You're welcome.
Mike: Is there anything I can do to help?
Sonny: No, no. You know, the lawyers will get me out eventually.
Mike: Well, what about Jason and Brenda?
Sonny: Well, Jason could be in a little bit of trouble. Brenda's gone.
Mike: That must be hard on you.
Sonny: Yeah. Yeah, it is hard. I mean, you know, Brenda's the primary suspect. If she disappears, it helps incriminate Jason.
Mike: I meant that she took off with Jax.
Sonny: Mike, who cares?
Mike: Well, I assumed that you would.
Sonny: Now, assuming that I don't get convicted and sent to prison, you know, I'm happy for Brenda that she’s alive and all that. But where she is and who she's with -- it's none of my business.
Mike: You're sure about that?
Sonny: Yeah, I am.
Jason: I'm sorry about all this.
Courtney: No. Don't apologize because Scott Baldwin has -- has it out for you and A.J.'s --
Jason: No. Everything's going to be okay.
Courtney: No, not when you're arrested for no reason. Jason, you shouldn't be here, and neither should Sonny. He should be at home with his family, and you should be at the loft with me, enjoying our tree.
Jason: I like that tree.
Courtney: Yeah, me, too. You know, I went out and I got a bunch of lights and decorations, and I was going to surprise you and have it all done up. But then I looked at it, and, you know, it's just right the way it is. Just one beautiful tree with one perfect ornament that looks like Rosie. I couldn't change it.
Jason: That's good.
Courtney: Why good? What, you have an aversion to decorating trees or something?
Jason: Hmm -- maybe or maybe, you know, I just like knowing how it looks. I got that picture in my head -- that room, that tree, and you.
Taggert: All right, time's up. Let's go. Visit's over.
Sonny: Thank you for coming. I mean that.
Courtney: You don't have much luck with Christmases, do you?
Sonny: Well, I mean, two years ago, I was shot and I lived. A year ago, I found out that I had a sister, and here you are now, coming to visit me. I think, overall, it's improving.
Courtney: Yeah. For me, too.
Sonny: Aw, that's sweet.
Courtney: Merry Christmas, Sonny.
Sonny: Yeah, Merry Christmas.
Mike: Merry Christmas, Michael.
Taggert: You're first, all right? Let's go. We're going down to lockup.
Sonny: Hey, my wife's coming to visit me.
Taggert: Really? Well, you know what? She's too late. I need to process you, get you downstairs before the patrol cars start bringing in all the --
Sonny: You don't have a heart?
Officer: Call on line three. Judge Weston’s office.
Taggert: Don't move.
Jason: Did you call in a favor?
Sonny: No, I didn't. I couldn't reach anyone. I don't know what the hell's going on.
Brenda: Thought you said you believed me when I told you I was innocent.
Jax: I want to. I'm just being honest with you. And the police have an independent eyewitness that saw you murder Alcazar.
Brenda: Well, I don't really care how many eyewitnesses they have or who said they saw me do anything because I didn't do it.
Brenda: I didn't kill Luis. I mean, Jax, I couldn't kill anyone. Don't you know that? You think I'd let you come out here and risk your whole life and be with me and then lie to you about what happened? I mean, don't you think that if I actually did this that I would tell you?
Jax: Okay, okay. But it still brings us back to this woman. I mean, Skye had a reason to lie, but this woman --
Brenda: This woman has a reason to lie, too, obviously. I mean, something's going on with her. She's either confused or -- I don't know -- maybe she saw my picture in the paper and she wants to be part of the big case, you know, like those freaks who actually want to be famous?
Jax: Or maybe -- maybe someone paid her to lie.
Coleman: Skye. Skye, hey, wake up. Wake up. Hey. Hey, come on. Hey, wake up. Hey, can you hear me? Huh? Come on. Damn, you're freezing. Skye, wake up. Come on, hey, wake up! Wake up! Hey, come on. Skye? Skye? Come on. Wake up. Skye?
Alan: "In those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled, each in their own town. And Joseph went up from Galilee to the city of David, that is called Bethlehem, to be enrolled with Mary, his wife, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for Mary to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn. Now, there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shown around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, 'Fear not, for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy that will be for all people. For today, in the city of David, a savior has been born, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you. You will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.'"
Alexis: I don't know how to thank you.
Cameron: You already have. Parents belong with their children on Christmas.
Alexis: What were your Christmases like?
Cameron: Pretty much what you'd expect. Greeting card stuff. A lot of decorations, school Christmas pageants, that one toy one of the kids had their heart set on that wasn't available anywhere.
Alexis: That sounds good. Yes.
Cameron: Yeah, it was -- till I made some mistakes. You get the life you make for yourself.
Alexis: I mean, how can you say that? Look at me. Look at her. It's never too late. Isn't that what they say?
Cameron: Sometimes they're wrong.
Taggert: I don't know about you, Mr. Morgan, but I'd be a little dissed there. Your boss there -- he calls up a judge, wakes him up Christmas Eve, pulls in a favor, gets a letter of release, and he leaves you here to twist in the wind. Talk about loyalty.
Sonny: Are you going to get those paperwork -- that paperwork for me to sign or not?
Taggert: Oh, yes, Sir, Mr. Corinthos. Wouldn't want to get you a little tiffy there -- call your personal judge and have me up on harassment charges.
Sonny: Well, I don't know what's going on, but I'll get you released as soon as -- as soon as I can. You all right?
Sonny: You sure?
Carly: Sonny? Hey. I'm sorry I'm late. It took me forever to get Michael settled. I was going to bring you a present, but I figured the police would just confiscate --
Sonny: I don't need any presents because I'm -- I'm coming home.
Sonny: Yeah. Somehow, I'm getting released. I don't know --
Carly: Oh, my gosh, this is the best Christmas present ever. Oh. So, what are we waiting for, hmm? Taggert, come on. Unlock Jason. We need to get going.
Taggert: Firstly, Jason isn't going anywhere. Secondly, you don't show me a little respect, neither is your husband. I want you to look these papers over, sign page one, three, and the last one.
Sonny: Judge Weston is a friend of yours?
Ric: Judge is a Harvard grad. We traded a few cigars.
Taggert: You also traded a few favors, huh?
Ric: Well, if you're implying that there's some sort of illegal coercion going on here, Lieutenant, I'm afraid you're sadly mistaken. No, the judge looked over Mr. Corinthos' papers, found them to be in order. He released him on bail.
Taggert: Totally legal.
Ric: At least as legal as sitting on the paperwork until the courts close on Christmas, thereby extending the time the PCPD could hold Mr. Corinthos in the lockup.
Taggert: Mr. Corinthos isn't in lockup. All he's got to do is sign those papers and he's free to go.
Sonny: Hey, hey -- I didn't hire you to represent me. I didn't -- I didn't ask you to get me released. Did you?
Carly: No, but -- but who really cares --
Sonny: Okay, you know what? Let me just -- you are not my attorney, Ric Lansing. I don't want you working on my behalf. If my wife wants to employ you, that's her business, but you do not represent me.
Carly: Sonny --
Sonny: Wait a minute! Now, whatever I owe you, you go ahead, send me the bill. I don't want to discuss this again.
Ric: See, I was under the impression that you might not want to spend Christmas in jail.
Sonny: See, I was under the impression that I told you to stay out of my business.
Carly: Sonny, can I speak to you for a minute, please?
Carly: Do you mind if I ask Ric to help get Jason out? Listen, it's not about business right now. It's about Christmas. And I know Ric overstepped his bounds. He did something -- I don't know -- okay, but he's getting you to come home. And I'd like it if Jason was able to come home, too.
Sonny: I don't know about this guy.
Carly: I know.
Sonny: And I don't want you interceding for him, you know what I'm saying?
Carly: I won't, I promise. This is just for Jason.
Sonny: For Jason?
Carly: It's Christmas.
Sonny: Right. Hey. I want -- I want -- I want to see what you can do to get Jason released.
Ric: Okay, just so we understand each other here, Mr. Corinthos, you are instructing me to represent you and Mr. Morgan in this matter?
Carly: Okay, will you please just, Ric, do what you can to help get Jason out? Sonny and I have to go home. Michael's waiting for us.
Ric: I'll make a couple of calls.
Carly: You okay?
Jason: Yeah, I'm fine.
Carly: Listen, I just thought Ric could help and get Jason out, so --
Sonny: Well, I'm sure he can if he's as good as, you know, he says he is, right?
Carly: Well, just in case, Merry Christmas, okay?
Sonny: I'll get you out, man.
Jax: All right, so someone paid off the eyewitness to lie. Now, it must have been somebody who saw you or knew that you were in Alcazar's hotel suite the night of the murder.
Brenda: Or it's just the somebody who did it.
Jax: What about Skye?
Brenda: Is Skye really capable of killing someone?
Jax: I don't know. I mean, it's possible.
Brenda: She is framing me. All she'd have to do is just find somebody and pay them to lie, right?
Brenda: She's falling apart. I don't think she could do this by herself. If she -- if she's done this, somebody's helping her.
Jax: I -- I don't want to think that it's possible that Skye would do something like that. But I know that Skye strikes back when she's hurt. So, yeah -- yeah, it is a possibility.
Brenda: This is a woman that you were with. If anyone knows, it's you. I mean, would she send me to prison just to keep us apart?
Jax: Yeah, she would. It would be just like Skye to help send you to prison and then, when it's too late, regret what she did. But don't worry because there is nothing -- nothing else she can do to hurt us.
Doctor: Hypothermia -- a relatively mild case, fortunately. No signs of permanent damage. She should recover pretty quickly. She's lucky. With all that alcohol in her system, it's a good thing you found her when you did. You literally saved her life.
Skye: Alcazar -- I hate you. You deserve it.
Skye: Oh, sorry. So sorry. I should have died. Oh.
Coleman: Shh, shh, it's okay.
Carolers: Caroling caroling, down we go Christmas bells are ringing caroling, caroling through the snow
Tony: All right, now I know what they mean by Christmas miracle.
Mac: I guess he's all right as a substitute Santa, but he's still more like Ebenezer Scrooge. Excuse me.
Carolers: Caroling caroling through the snow
Bobbie: I'm going to give each one --
Felicia: Oh, okay.
Bobbie: Excuse me, okay? Hey, Mac.
Mac: Hi, Bobbie. Merry Christmas.
Bobbie: Merry Christmas.
Georgie: Lucas. What do you have behind your back?
Lucas: Nothing. I was going to give it to your mother.
Georgie: You got my mom a present? Oh, it's for Maxie.
Lucas: Who would have thought she'd be sick?
Georgie: I'll give it to her if you want.
Lucas: Sure. Thanks.
Lucas: Merry Christmas.
Georgie: Yeah, Merry Christmas.
Edward: Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas, you kids.
Children: Merry Christmas, Santa!
Zander: Is this a bad time?
Alexis: This is the best time.
Zander: I wanted to come and say Merry Christmas and maybe meet your little girl.
Alexis: Well, then, come over here and say hello.
Zander: Wow. She's beautiful.
Alexis: She is, isn't she?
Zander: But I brought something for you. Actually, it's for her.
Alexis: You know, you're a lot more thoughtful than you let on.
Zander: Yeah, well, don't let it get around.
Alexis: I won’t. You can put it over there.
Zander: All right.
Alexis: Thank you. So, you think she's enjoying her first Christmas?
Zander: She's with you. I'll bet that's what she wants.
Alexis: That makes two of us.
Zander: Well, I'll -- I'll get out of here. Get out of your way.
Alexis: You don't have to go. Zander, do you have anyplace to be tonight?
Zander: I've never been that big on Christmas.
Ric: Elizabeth? I thought you'd be gone by now.
Elizabeth: Nope, still here.
Ric: Well, it's Christmas Eve. I -- aren't you going to be with family or friends?
Elizabeth: Well, I'm supposed to be on my way to my grandmother's, but I don't know. For some reason, I can't make myself leave. And I think maybe it's because I know when I do get to my grandmother's house, then it really is Christmas, and I'm just not ready for it.
Elizabeth: What about you?
Ric: I was just going to crawl up to my room and celebrate with a little legal research.
Elizabeth: What if I have a better idea?
Michael: Santa? Daddy! You're home!
Sonny: Hey! Merry Christmas!
Carly: You see, baby? Christmas wishes really do come true.
Sonny: Merry Christmas, buddy.
A.J.: You found her in the park?
Coleman: She was passed out on a bench.
A.J.: Jax did this to her. She was in recovery. She believed in A.A., man.
Coleman: Yeah. Well, your sister definitely has a hate on for somebody, but it ain't Jax.
A.J.: You know what? I'm in no mood for riddles, Coleman.
Coleman: All I'm saying is she made some sense while she was rambling in there. She said something about what happened the night of the murder.
A.J.: While blind drunk and suffering from hypothermia?
Coleman: See --
A.J.: Why do I find that hard to believe?
Coleman: All this time, I thought the reason she wanted to frame Brenda was to keep Brenda away from her husband.
A.J.: You think there's another reason?
Coleman: I don't know. Maybe not. Hell, what other reason could there be, right?
Jax: And that is the first light of Christmas day.
Brenda: Merry Christmas.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Alan: You're not ready to leave this hospital, Skye.
Coleman: You ready to go?
Skye: Am I ever.
Felicia: Who hates Jason enough to frame him?
Carly: What do you want now, A.J.?
Brenda: I think I should call Jason.
Jax: No, it's a bad idea.
Courtney: Let's just get out of here now. I don't want you to go to jail again. We could just run.
