>> Previously on "General Hospital" --

Brenda: Oh, my God. I shouldn't have kissed you.

Edward: Sonny has to be the father.

Ned: Go, now. Out, all of you. Sonny would have ripped her right out of your arms.

Alexis: He can't know the truth.

Ned: And now he never will.

Courtney: I heard Rosie barking.

Jason: He's in your apartment. You call the cops and you call A.J., and I'll meet you over there.

[Rosie barks]

A.J.: Hey, Courtney?

A.J.: Courtney! Are you all right?

Courtney: No!

A.J.: Courtney!

Courtney: Get away from me!

A.J.: It's me! Hey, hey, hey! Hey, it's me. It's A.J.

Courtney: Oh, my God! A.J., thank God!

A.J.: It's ok. It's ok.

Courtney: I thought you were the stalker!

A.J.: Are you ok?

Courtney: He was in here! He got in!

A.J.: I know, I know. I fought him, but he's gone. He got away.

Courtney: Jason --

A.J.: What?

Courtney: He was hurt. Oh, God. Jason?

[Rosie barks]

Courtney: Jason. Get a washcloth, hurry.

[Rosie stops barking]

Courtney: Jason, can you hear me? It's Courtney. Oh, thank God. Jason, it's Courtney.

Jason: Are you -- are you all right?

Courtney: Yeah. Just don't get up, don't get up, lie still. You were hit in the head, you're bleeding. A.J.?

Officer: Freeze! Police!

[Rosie barks]

woman: Running a little late?

Skye: Oh. Last-minute trip.

Woman: Business or pleasure?

Skye: Business.

Flight attendant: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard flight 1034, nonstop to Zurich, Switzerland.

Jax: Brenda?

Brenda: Hey. Were you dreaming of walking?

Jax: No. No. I was -- I was dreaming of making love to you.

Brenda: Jax.

Jax: It's just, you know -- it's a crazy dream. You know, it's probably just the medication I'm taking.

Brenda: Yeah, drugs can do that to you.

Jax: Yeah.

Brenda: So, you know, my dreams are even worse than they used to be, if you can believe that.

Jax: Really?

Brenda: Yeah. The good news is, you know, when you wake up, they're gone.

Jax: You know, the medication that you're taking, I mean, does it help you at all with your -- with your illness?

Brenda: I don't know. It's supposed to. I don't really want to talk about it.

Jax: Yeah, that's pretty obvious. You never mentioned it before.

Brenda: Well, it's not a very uplifting subject.

Jax: Neither is my paralysis. But, still, you didn't flinch to help me. I want to do the same for you.

Jax: So why don't you tell me how you're really feeling.

Alexis: Carly, it's all right --

Carly: What?

Ned: Are you insane?

Carly: Agh! Agh!

Ned: Just wait!

Sonny: Hey! Get your hands off of my wife!

Carly: Sonny, it's ok! It's ok!

Alexis: Stop it! How many people have to die before you stop it?

Carly: Hey, ok, ok --

Sonny: Come on!

Carly: Hey, hey, hey --

Sonny: Hey!

Carly: Let it go! Let it --

Sonny: Hey!

Carly: Let it go.

Ned: Are you all right?

Alexis: I'm fine. The I.V. Just fell over. It was an accident, all right? It wasn't anybody's fault.

Ned: All right, just get out. Both of you, just get out!

Sonny: We're leaving! We're leaving! I need to make my position clear, though. Alexis, you knew there was a chance that that baby was mine, and you not only lied to me, you chose to run for D.A. So you could send me away to prison so that baby would be safe from me. My advice to you is to let it go. You have a child. Live your life. Let me live mine without interference.

Ned: Is that a threat?

Alexis: Is it?

Sonny: For more than two years, you claimed to be my friend. And fortunate for me, you were also my lawyer, so you can't use whatever I told you against me. Otherwise, it will be violation of attorney-client privilege, and I will have you disbarred. I will retaliate, I know your weaknesses, and I know how to break you. And I'll do it without a second thought. Let's go.

Sonny: I'll see you at home.

Carly: Look, I know that knowing that Ned is the father of the child doesn't change the fact that I kept a secret from you, ok, but you kept the fact that Brenda was alive, so --

Sonny: I can't do this right now. I can't do this right now! Please, I can't. I can't do it. Ok? I can't do it.

Courtney: I didn't notice his clothes. All I saw was the mask.

A.J.: I probably got the clearest look at the guy when I was struggling with him.

Officer: You need to come with us to the station. We'll put you together with a sketch artist.

A.J.: Whatever you need.

Courtney: Oh, we have to wait for the paramedics.

Jason: No, I'm ok.

Courtney: When someone is knocked unconscious, they can't be left alone.

Officer: I want to get your husband with the artist as soon as possible.

Jason: Courtney, just go with him.

Courtney: No.

A.J.: I'm not going to leave you here.

Courtney: A.J., just go. We want to catch this guy, right?

Jason: I'm not waiting for the paramedics. Yeah, there's an ambulance on the way to 243 West End Avenue, Number 3C. I want it canceled. No, it's just a false alarm. No one's hurt.

Courtney: You're hurt. Jason, you were knocked out cold. Your head's bleeding. You need to see someone.

Jason: No, I need to be somewhere, ok? I didn't tell the cops I was all right because I didn't want to go with them.

Courtney: Where are you going?

Jason: To end this.

Courtney: Do you know for sure who the stalker is?

Jason: Look, I was at Jake's earlier. I saw Coleman with some masks, just like what you described.

Courtney: So why didn't you tell the police?

Jason: Because they won't do anything.

Courtney: No, no, Jason, I can't let you do this.

Jason: Look, listen to me. Lock the door and just stay inside, Courtney.

Jax: You risked your life to save mine. You stayed around to help me with my recovery. For that, I'm truly grateful. But you never speak about your own medical condition. Well, I remember how scared you were when you first found out that your mother's illness was hereditary. I'm not going to let you go through this alone.

Brenda: I want to be alone.

Jax: I believe you. I think you've convinced yourself that's the noble thing to do.

Brenda: Oh, really?

Jax: Yes.

Brenda: You mean, the same way you thought it was noble to push all of us away?

Jax: Yes, exactly.

Brenda: Yeah.

Jax: But you didn't go, did you? You stayed. I'm going to do the same. Now, you can fight with me all you want on this, but I'm going to make sure that you're not alone going through this illness.

Brenda: Well, you don't have a choice.

Jax: Oh?

Brenda: Yeah. Jax, over the last four years, I have read every single book on this disease and, yes, it makes you lose your mind, but, you know, I'm pretty sure I've already lost my mind. It also makes you lose your dignity. See, losing your dignity isn't so bad if you're around a bunch of people you don't know.

Jax: I'll make sure you're taken care of.

Brenda: I don't want you to take care of me. I want you to respect my wishes.

Jax: Don't think about running away again, because I will find you. I know that you're alive now, so I will find you anywhere in the world.

Brenda: That's a great idea. You're married. I'm sure Skye will love you running all over the world looking for me. That is exactly what I didn't want you to do.

Nurse: Doctor wants you to rest.

Jax: Oh, I don't really want any more medication.

Nurse: Doctor's orders.

Brenda: Yes. Here.

Jax: I'm already medicated as it is.

Brenda: Do you have some of this for me, too? Just kidding. Take this. The body heals while you sleep. I read that one, too.

Nurse: Thank you.

Jax: Well, thanks.

Brenda: I'll leave as soon as he falls asleep.

Nurse: Ok.

Brenda: Ok?

Jax: This is one argument you're not going to win, ok? I'm not leaving you.

Brenda: Are you tired?

Jax: Yeah. Do you know what? There is no place on earth I won't find you. It's our promise to each other, I remember -- nobody leaves.

Brenda: Go to sleep.

Jax: Ok.

Brenda: Jax?

Brenda: You know what?

Brenda: I am afraid. I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid to lean on you. I'm afraid to lean on anybody. I don't know if I'm strong enough to let you go.

Brenda: Oh. I -- I want you near me. Being loved by you is so, so good. I want us to be a family. I want you to fill my days with love and I want you next to my bedside and I want you to hold my hand through all the ugliness. You are the only person who's ever really loved me. And I want so much to see you smile. I want to see you laugh. I want to set you free because then you'll stop thinking about me and you'll start thinking about yourself, and that's the way it should be. I've always loved you more than I could ever admit to anyone, not even to you.

Brenda: When you wake up, I'll be strong again. I promise, ok? I'll do whatever I have to do. I'll do anything to set you free.

Skye: Oh, thank you. Are we still scheduled to arrive on time in Zurich?

Attendant: Yes, 10:00 Zurich time.

Skye: Oh, great. Thanks.

Attendant: Mm-hmm.

Woman: Perfect. I'll be able to check into my hotel before my meeting.

Skye: Oh. Traveling on business?

Woman: Of a kind. My loving ex-husband tried to hide some of our assets in Switzerland. I'm flying over with a court order to get my share.

Skye: How long were you married?

Woman: 10 very fruitful years. Divorced 10 months. My ex went home for his high school reunion, and I found an excuse not to go. Lo and behold, my ex rediscovers his long-lost first love. I should have put a stop to it. Instead, I convinced myself that Brad just needed to get it out of his system. Big mistake. So, what kind of business is taking you to Zurich?

Skye: Let's just say that I'm trying very hard not to make the same mistake that you did.

Ned: Ok, stop pretending to be asleep.

Alexis: I can't stop thinking about how close my daughter just came to being caught up in the mire of Sonny's life. You know, right before they opened up the DNA test, I saw the look on his face, and I knew at that point that there would be no compromising, no reasoning with him. I knew that he would go after her. He will go after full custody. He would try to take her from me, and at the very least, he would get visitation. Which means that any time that she was with him, her life would be in jeopardy.

Ned: And you know what? It didn't happen. It didn't happen.

Alexis: Thank God, and thank you. I never want her to know the truth. I never want her to know that her father is a cold, relentless, amoral man.

Ned: You know, not that I disagree with anything that you're saying about Sonny, but you're being a little too hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes.

Alexis: "Mistake" does not describe the lapse of judgment I had in having a baby with a man like that.

Ned: Do you regret it?

Alexis: Sleeping with Sonny? Yes. Being pregnant with this baby? Never.

Coleman: Better luck next time, man. We closed early.

Jason: Yeah? You listen to me. You don't touch Courtney again. You don't call her, you don't come to her apartment. The next time you come near her, you die. Oh! Yeah! Come on!

Jason: Come on!

Courtney: No, Jason, don't!

Jason: Get out of here!

Courtney: No! I don't want you to hurt anyone for me! Come on, Jason, we don't know that Coleman's the stalker, and even if he is, I don't want you to do this! Please, Jason, just come with me.

Jason: Tonight never happened. You come near Courtney again, you're dead.

Courtney: What is wrong with you?

Jason: I'm taking you home!

Courtney: What if you had killed Coleman? How am I supposed to feel if you go to prison because of me?

Brenda: Sonny?

Sonny: Hey.

Brenda: Hey. Are you ok?

Sonny: Uh -- I just found out I'm not going to be a father.

Brenda: I'm sorry.

Sonny: I'm not. While you were gone, Carly and I had a baby. It died before it was born. And I realized right there there are some things you just can't have.

Brenda: I'm -- I'm sad to know that you think you're not meant to have a baby.

Sonny: No one gets everything they want, right?

Brenda: Yeah.

Sonny: There are things you know you can't have. You lie to yourself, saying you're better off without them, you know. You make excuses. You were always pretty good at that.

Brenda: Yeah. I don't need any excuses anymore. I don't have time for them.

Sonny: What do you need, Brenda? Would you ever tell me?

Sonny: Uh, you'd better get out of the rain.

Brenda: Yeah.

Sonny: You don't want to get sick.

Brenda: Yeah.

Brenda: Yeah, I wouldn't want to get sick.

Alexis: On behalf of my baby and myself, I want to thank you, because you're the reason that my baby is going to have a chance to grow up safe. You have consistently put her first, and I've been so caught up in my own turmoil that I have been less than careful.

Ned: Well, you had a lot going on.

Alexis: I have so much appreciation for you, for all that you have, and not to mention the brilliant way that you handle Edward. No one else would've bothered after the way that I treated you. I thought that I had everything all figured out. I don't. I was wrong, and yet you help me anyway. And I don't ever know how I'm going to thank you.

Ned: Well, in our long and tortured history together, we've both been right and wrong many times. And whether we're friends or more than friends, we've supported each other. It's second nature to me, and I know you'd do the same for me. Besides, now we're going to be raising this child together. You know, I was down for Brooke's birthday and I told her that she had a little sister on the way. She was thrilled. I already love this child. And, of course, I'm going to do everything I possibly can to protect her. Even if that means saving her stubborn mother.

Alexis: Nice work.

Jason: Look, I gave my word to protect you and I've lost my patience. I want to finish that guy!

Courtney: You can't just bust into places and start beating people up, especially when we don't have evidence! Jason, I am afraid for you. God, look at you, you're still hurt.

Jason: No, it's ok. I'm all right.

Courtney: No, I couldn't stand it if anything happened to you. When I saw you laying on that floor, I thought --

Courtney: This -- this is crazy. I -- I love A.J.

Jason: I know. It won't happen again.

Courtney: It can't.

Jason: It won't.

Courtney: He's probably wondering where I am.

Jason: Ok, I'll take you home. Let's go.

Courtney: No, you have to go to the emergency room.

Jason: Look, I'm ok.

Courtney: I can't be near you. You have to give me your word that you're going to go to the hospital. Promise me!

Jason: All right.

Courtney: Go, now. Just make sure that you're ok.

Courtney: You promised.

Brenda: Jax?

Ned: Are you all right?

Brenda: He's sleeping, so --

Ned: I'm worried about you. What happened?

Brenda: I'm fine.

Brenda: I just -- I get a little overwhelmed sometimes. It'll pass.

Ned: All right, well, let me take you home.

Brenda: No, no, I'm fine. I don't need you to take care of me.

Ned: I'm just --

Brenda: I'm sorry.

Ned: I'm not insinuating that you need to be taken care of. I just want to help you out here.

Brenda: No, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. I'm just -- I just don't know what I'm doing here anymore. I don't know if I'm helping or not and -- I just want Jax and Skye to be happy. Will you go in and see him? I'll talk to you later.

Ned: All right.

Brenda: Ok.

A.J.: I was getting ready to call the police. Where were you?

Courtney: Jason went after Coleman and I followed him to stop him from doing something terrible. Jason's convinced that Coleman's the stalker.

A.J.: Does he have proof?

Courtney: Well, he was at Jake's earlier and he saw some Halloween masks just like the one that the stalker was wearing in Coleman's office.

A.J.: He couldn't call the police. That wouldn't be his style.

Courtney: Who are you calling?

A.J.: I'm calling Taggert.

Courtney: No, no, you can't.

A.J.: What?

Courtney: Can't we just wait? If Coleman is the stalker, then Jason made him pay for it tonight and I doubt he will ever come near me again. But if Coleman's not the stalker, then the police are going to question Jason and he could be arrested. I just can't let that happen.

Dr. Meadows: Well, congratulations. Your blood pressure's only slightly elevated, and that's a whole lot better than it was. The regimen of bed rest is exactly what you needed.

Alexis: And I want to do whatever's necessary to make sure that the baby's healthy.

Dr. Meadows: Number one for you is reducing stress. Have you given that any more thought?

Alexis: I think that I've cut the main source of my stress. I was worried that my baby was at risk from someone dangerous. And I now know for a fact that that someone can never touch my child.

Sonny: Where's Michael?

Marco: Oh, Leticia took him over to Bobbie Spencer's for a sleepover.

Sonny: Ok. Is Carly here yet?

Marco: She's not back yet.

Sonny: Zambrano make that delivery?

Marco: Not yet.

Sonny: Ok, go pick it up, will you?

Marco: Now?

Sonny: Yeah, that's what I just said -- now!

Carly: Jason? Hey. Oh, my God, what happened to your -- what happened?

Jason: Hey, I got hit. I just promised I'd have someone look at it. So tell me, what happened at the meeting with Edward and Alexis?

Carly: The DNA results showed that Ned is the father of Alexis' baby.

Jason: Ned? So why are you upset?

Carly: Because Sonny's leaving me. He may not even know it, but he is halfway out the door and on his way into Brenda's arms. I saw them. I saw them together, standing in the rain, and they had their hands all over each other. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I could see. I could see those looks that they were giving each other.

Jason: Even if Brenda came on to Sonny, that doesn't mean he's going to leave you.

Carly: Jason, you don't know. He is so furious at me right now. Alexis told me months ago that the father was Sonny, and I didn't tell him because I hated what Robin did to me.

Jason: So Sonny found out you kept a secret?

Carly: And he considers it betrayal, the ultimate sin, the unforgivable sin, and his exact reason to go running right back to Brenda.

Jason: Ok, now you're jumping to conclusions.

Carly: No, I'm not. You didn't see them standing in the rain. Jason, I tell him the truth, and now he's going to leave me.

Jason: Ok, come here.

Carly: What?

Jason: "What"?

Carly: What?

Jason: Now you're going to give up, now that you have everything you ever wanted? What about all the times I told you, you were dead wrong and there was no chance you could win, but you refused to quit? And now that you have everything to fight for, you're just going to give up like a coward?

Carly: I am not a coward. I am so sick of having my heart ripped out!

Jason: Then don't stand around and wait for it to happen. Go home to your husband. Tell Sonny what he already knows -- that you love him, he loves you, and you're worth 50 of that whiny idiot Brenda.

Carly: Jason, I can do that -- that's not a problem -- but what happens the next time she shows up at our door?

Jason: She won't.

Carly: Jason, she's probably on her way to the penthouse at this exact moment.

Jason: Carly, you need to make a decision right now about what you want. If you choose to bail on Sonny --

Carly: I am not bailing on him, he's bailing on me.

Jason: Ok, then standing here crying is not a good first strategy. But if you want to fight for your family, I'll make sure Brenda's not a problem.

Carly: How?

Jason: Look, just let me worry about that. Just tell me what you want.

Carly: You know what I want. And I can fight for him. I can do that.

Carly: Thank you. Thanks for reminding me.

Carly: Oh, I love you. You know that, right?

Jason: Yes. Get your stuff and go home.

Carly: Get your head looked at.

Jason: Excuse me. What room is Jasper Jacks in?

Nurse: One second.

Skye: My husband's old love is extremely adept at playing noble. If she's sincere, it's enough to break your heart. But if she's lying? Well, I'm going to stop her cold.

Jax: You seen Brenda?

Ned: Yeah, she just left.

Jax: How'd she seem?

Ned: She's still in love with you. And you're married, and it's breaking her heart to be near you.

Jax: I know. I know. I love Skye, Ned.

Ned: Well, then you have to be fair to Brenda. You got to stop leaning on her. You have to stop seeing her. I mean, if Skye is your choice, I mean, if that's who you love, you got to let Brenda go.

Jax: Brenda's dying. I'm not going to let her do that alone.

Ned: You still love Brenda, don't you?

Carly: What happened? Are you ok? Did you hurt yourself?

Sonny: I'm fine.

Carly: This kind of reminds me of when we first met, you know -- not when we met, but when -- you know, when we got to know each --

Sonny: I'm not having a breakdown. I just -- I lost my temper.

Carly: Because Alexis' baby isn't yours?

Sonny: I told you, I -- I'm more relieved than disappointed.

Carly: Well, was this something Brenda said?

Sonny: What's Brenda got to do with anything?

Carly: Well, I saw you. I saw you two holding each other at the hospital. I didn't see the kiss.

Sonny: That's because there wasn't one.

Carly: Yeah, well, not for lack of effort on Brenda's part.

Sonny: Then if you were watching, you saw that I walked away.

Carly: Do you regret it? Is that what this is all about?

Sonny: No, this is about you, about the lie. You lied to me again, you know? I mean, we can't keep doing it. But then I see Ned grab you, you know -- I lost it.

Carly: Well, you know, it isn't easy loving someone who's not perfect, someone who gets angry and lashes out, who's unreasonable and makes mistakes. Sonny, I can't stop loving you, I can't, so I figure, you know what, I might as well put my energy in trying to make this work. There are no more secrets between us. Ok? And I promise you with all my heart that I will try and be honest and upfront from now on.

Sonny: How am I supposed to believe that?

Carly: I guess I'm going to show you, one day at a time. You know, the important thing is that I am here and I'm not somewhere devising some kind of plan to get you back. And you're here, too. You're smashing our crystal, instead of somewhere kissing Brenda. Maybe it's progress?

Brenda: Great, where we going now?

Jason: We're going to the Quartermaines' so you can pack up and say good-bye and you won't screw up everybody's life.

Brenda: No, no, no, I am not leaving. Jax will come after me.

Jason: Fine, Europe is a perfect solution. You know what, let him come after you and chase you all over the world.

Brenda: Do you have any idea how stupid you are? I can't leave. I have to convince him that I've moved on.

Jason: That's why I'm taking you to Europe.

Brenda: Oh, just shut up. I've already promised Skye that I would stay here and convince him I just want to be friends.

Jason: Oh, yeah, that's a good plan -- jerk Jax around a little bit more. You know what, that's fine, but you leave Sonny the hell alone. Carly and Sonny are happy, and you're not going to mess it up.

Brenda: Oh, my God.

Jason: What?

Brenda: I just got such a gross idea. You're going to hate this.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Elizabeth: Your dad had his will executed here?

Nikolas: You cannot win unless you get married.

Monica: Brenda.

Jax: What happened?

Monica: She's missing.

Edward: Brenda didn't come home last night.

Sonny: I have not seen Brenda since last night.

Courtney: No!
