Scott: Do you actually think that you're going to escape?
Courtney: Sonny's dead.
Alexis: We should tell the truth and acknowledge that the baby's father is Sonny.
A.J.: I want to re-establish my parental rights to my son, Michael.
Brenda: I have always loved him.
Sonny: The best thing we can do at this point is let her keep on thinking that I'm dead.
Luke: Hey, cowboy.
Lucky: Hey, dad.
Lucky: I just found out they're going to be taking you to Pentonville tonight. Now, it's not too late to be staging an accident, if you know what I mean. Don't fight me on this.
Luke: I've got this all covered, but I need your help.
Lucky: Really? Since when?
Luke: Since I saw you last.
Lucky: What's the plan?
Luke: All right, Roy and I have worked this out to the last detail. There will be no spur-of-the-moment choices, no disguises, we're not going to club the D.A. Over the head with a nightstick.
Lucky: All right.
Luke: This is all going to go just like clockwork if you do exactly as I say. Are you in?
Lucky: I'll do whatever it takes.
A.J.: You can do this.
Courtney: I just wish you could be there.
A.J.: So do I.
Courtney: I know that it would hurt Carly. I just still wish --
A.J.: I'll be thinking of you, ok?
Courtney: Thank you for being so understanding after all the terrible things that Sonny did to you.
A.J.: You lost your brother. I have some idea what that's like, and I will help you through it any way I can, ok? We're family, and family sticks together, ok?
Mike: You know, you remind me of Sonny, looking out the window like that.
Carly: I used to tease him about it. He used to say that the water, it helped him think. You know, to me it's just water, you know, the warehouse, docks. We stood and we watched that yacht burning the other night, me and Sonny, and I knew something terrible was going to happen.
Mike: Shh, shh, shh. Look, listen, honey, why don't you just slow down on all of this and wait a couple of days for the funeral.
Carly: I can't. I can't, because you know what? Then Taggert is going to harass me and Jason, and Sonny would hate it.
Mike: Yeah, but it would -- it would give you some time to have a nicer service, and, well, you know, you could find a place that had a view of the river.
Carly: Sonny wouldn't want a big show.
Mike: Yeah. Have his associates been paying their respects?
Carly: I asked Jason to keep them away. You know, tonight's for family. It's for people who loved Sonny and they could see the beauty in his heart. And, you know, Sonny made mistakes, he did terrible things, but, you know, for the people he loved, he was everything.
Andy: Corinthos is dead, lieutenant. There's nothing to follow up with.
Taggert: I need to see for myself.
Andy: Look, the autopsy's clear -- he took five bullets to the chest and back.
Taggert: Corinthos and I hated each other since we were kids in Brooklyn. I want to look straight into his face and wish him straight to hell and never have to think about it again.
Sonny: Thanks. Any word on Alcazar?
Jason: Still underground.
Sonny: Watching every move we make.
Jason: He could have left for a while till things cool off.
Sonny: Alcazar is not going to go anywhere without Brenda. He's going to wait for her to warn Jax, then he's going to grab her.
Jason: Yeah, well, that's not how she thinks. She wants to leave.
Sonny: If I could let Brenda go, I would. The last thing I want to do is hurt her.
[Knock on door]
Jason: The clothes ok? Need anything else?
Brenda: Is that for me?
Brenda: Called Jax yet?
Jason: Brenda, I have someone watching Jax.
Brenda: Ok, here's what you do -- you pick up the phone and you say, "Jax, Alcazar is coming after you."
Jason: Brenda, I'm taking care of it.
Brenda: You're using him as bait because you don't care what happens to him.
Jason: Just stay out of this.
Brenda: Oh, ok, and you'll stop ordering me around, right?
Jason: Ok, first of all, Jax wouldn't believe me, ok? Then he'd do something stupid that would make it easier for Alcazar to come after him.
Brenda: If you give Jax all of the information, he will be careful.
Jason: Then you want me to tell Jax about you?
Jason: Bad idea.
Brenda: Well, if you don't, I will.
Jason: I'm sorry. I can't let that happen.
Brenda: Ok. Sonny is dead because I didn't tell him the truth, and I will not let that happen to Jax.
Brenda: All right, I just want to warn Jax. Look, I don't care if Alcazar catches me as long as I can warn Jax first.
Jason: Once I get rid of Alcazar, you can do whatever you want to do.
Brenda: That is -- that is all I want to do. What else am I going to do? I don't have any money. I don't have an I.D. I don't even exist. Brenda Barrett's dead.
Jason: Ok, well, we'll work something out.
Brenda: No. All right. "Work something out." How about this -- you can send me away. You'd like that, right? Look, as long as you promise me that you'll warn Jax -- maybe I should just leave again. You know, you can send me to an institution, you can send me wherever you want, I don't care, I just don't want to hurt the people that I love anymore.
Jason: After this is over, I'll do whatever you need.
Taggert: Who released Corinthos' body to the funeral home?
Attendant: Lieutenant, the police never did issue a hold and the paperwork was all in order.
Taggert: Nothing is in order here! Now, who signed for the release?
Attendant: I'll find out.
Taggert: Do that.
Andy: Tag, relax. This is all standard procedure.
Taggert: No, standard? No, nothing is standard here, all right? I know what standard is! Look, think about it, all right? He was murdered on the street, his body was removed before the cops could get there, and now he's released from the morgue before the ink even dries on the autopsy.
Attendant: Lieutenant, here it is.
Taggert: Oh, yeah. Look who signed for the release.
Andy: Jason Morgan. What's the big deal?
Taggert: Why do you think Mr. Morgan is in such a hurry to bury his best friend?
Jason: Ok, so Benny's going to stay with Brenda while I'm at the funeral --
Sonny: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Benny? Benny? That was not the plan.
Jason: I know that, but we had to make some changes. How could we know that she was going to show up and that Alcazar was going to leave right afterwards? We had no idea.
Sonny: Just -- you know what? I don't -- my own family grieving at the funeral in front of an empty coffin does not feel right to me.
Jason: I know that.
Sonny: Is Mike around?
Jason: Yeah. She loves you, Sonny. They all do. It is going to hurt.
Sonny: Just doesn't feel right. Carly's going to get the worst of this.
Jason: Carly is tough. She can handle it if anybody can.
Sonny: You take care of her.
Carly: Hey. You doing all right?
Courtney: I guess so.
Carly: You know, Sonny loved you. It's why he tried to run your life.
Courtney: Yeah, oh, I am just starting to figure that out.
Carly: He really had the best intentions, even with the way things turned out.
Courtney: I wish that I had given him a chance. I know that he only wanted to help me.
Mike: Courtney, listen, listen. Sweetheart, Sonny knew. Sonny knew that you loved him.
Courtney: Yeah, but if I had just been willing to just see his side of it, I --
Carly: Oh, no, don't, don't, don't, ok, don't. Really, Sonny lived with way too much grief in his life for too long and he really wouldn't want the same thing for you.
Mike: Carly's right. Your brother lived with a lot of pain, and he wouldn't want to put you through that.
Carly: Don't feel sorry, ok? Don't -- come on, don't blame yourself and play what-if because you just need to know that Sonny loved you. Ok? And he loved you. And that's all that matters. Come on. It's ok.
Lucky: So Roy has everything set up?
Luke: Yeah -- money, tickets, variety of passports and IDs. So you meet him at the elm street pier in 15 minutes. Wait for him there. Ride with him to the ambush.
Lucky: Is there anything else you need?
Luke: No. All I need you to do is wait for Roy on the docks, do exactly what he says. He's my point man on this. This is going to work if you follow instructions.
Officer: Time's up.
Luke: I just need to tell you one more thing.
Luke: I love you, cowboy.
Lucky: I love you, too, Dad. I'll see you.
Luke: I'm counting on it.
Bobbie: Hey, Luke.
Luke: Oh, sweetheart, hi.
Bobbie: Hi. You're up to something.
Bobbie: Yeah. Maybe you're about to vanish without a trace? Or maybe, like, in three or four years from now, I'm going to get a post card from Sri Lanka or London or Mexico or God-knows-where.
Luke: You'll keep an eye on Lulu?
Bobbie: You know I will.
Luke: Take care of yourself, Barbara Jean.
Bobbie: I love you, and I'm on your side no matter what. You know that, don't you?
Luke: I know, little sister. I carry it wherever I go, right here in my heart. You're always with me.
Luke: I thought we were going to take a secret route. And where are my guards? I'm a dangerous man. I need a lot of prison guards around. You know that?
Scott: Just me and you, Spencer.
Luke: This is a very disappointing trip to the slammer, I must say.
Scott: Well, I'm sorry that I foiled your little escape plan.
Luke: Escape? Ha. You flatter me.
Scott: You know, I'm just upset that Sing Sing was booked. But the good news for you, Pentonville you're going to get your own little cell, but I've bribed the warden. He's going to actually let me pull the switch for lock-down.
Luke: Oh. That'll be exciting for you.
Scott: Yes, it will be. You see, you destroyed Laura's life, so now you're going to pay.
Luke: You never got over the fact that I stole your high school sweetheart, the fact that she loved me, she married me, she had kids with me, she left you for me.
Scott: And where did it get her, Spencer? In a straitjacket.
Luke: Yeah, and you could have let her go. But you weren't man enough. You'd rather hang on to her, never mind that you've made sure that her mind's in a thousand pieces.
Scott: No, you're the one that pushed her over the edge.
Luke: So what happens now? You lock me up and you head off to London, give your pathetic little romantic dreams one more try? Well, you know, you might just have a chance this time because, thanks to you, she's wacko.
Scott: Shut up.
Shut up. You are finished. You're kaput. It's over. It's the end of your story.
Luke: So you think you won just because I'm taking the fall for the woman I love, huh? And I'm just stepping out of the picture.
Scott: No, you're stepping out of life because you're never going to see Laura again.
Luke: Yeah, and that makes you the winner, yeah?
Scott: That's right, that's right, I win. This time I win. You lose.
Luke: Hmm, well, that must be a great comfort to you after all these years of being a loser. So you lock me up half a world away from the woman who loves me. Yeah, that makes you the winner, all right. That way you don't have to measure up to me, because we both know you can't. You never could and you never will.
Monica: Well, Jason must be devastated.
Edward: God, I hope Michael's ok.
A.J.: So do I.
Edward: What do you want?
A.J.: What I want is my little boy back. I've contacted my lawyer, but I need money.
Edward: Huh. So you came here.
A.J.: I don't want your help. Mom?
Monica: A.J., If you go after Michael, Carly will go to Jason for support.
Monica: And then the two of you will be at each other's throats.
A.J.: Michael is more important to me than my brother. Don't you understand that? Don't you even care that Michael's in danger? I don't know where he is right now. Now, today at Sonny's funeral, Jason will take over the business. He could be the next target.
Monica: Is that what you want, A.J., For Jason to end up just like Sonny?
A.J.: What I want, is to raise my son.
Monica: Well, I cannot support another custody battle between brothers.
Edward: Well, that -- that could have gone better.
A.J.: Leave me alone.
Edward: Say, you know, you could check with Alan, or maybe even Ned.
A.J.: I don't think so.
Edward: So why don't you come to the one person who can give you what you want, you know, the Quartermaines' own benign cartoonish gas bag -- me, huh?
Andy: Picked him up on his way into the harbor view towers.
Taggert: Thanks for coming in, Morgan. Have a seat. That's a nice look you have there. Is there a special occasion? Oh, yeah, let me guess -- Sonny's funeral, right?
Jason: Instead of flowers, you can make a contribution to the Stone Cates aids wing at General Hospital.
Taggert: What's your hurry to bury Corinthos, huh?
Jason: It's what Carly wants.
Taggert: Oh. I bet you Mrs. C's pretty upset with you, huh, letting her husband get shot and all? Trying to make up for that now, huh, track down the killer?
Jason: Am I under arrest?
Taggert: Nah. I just got one more question.
Jason: Good, make it quick, because I will not be late for that funeral.
Taggert: Why was Sonny standing alone in front of the church in the rain? Where were the bodyguards? Where were you? You know -- ahem -- the autopsy says there were no defensive wounds. Sonny didn't try to run away. He didn't even try to crawl away. It was just bang, bang, bang, and Sonny was dead. Does that seem right to you?
Jason: That's more than one question.
Taggert: Because it just doesn't seem right to me.
Brenda: Well, it's been great having you here. I'm really fine, though.
Brenda: Look, look, I don't really need a babysitter anymore.
Benny: Yeah, look, you meant a great deal to Mr. Corinthos. He wanted you to be safe at all costs. That's all.
Brenda: You know, Sonny wouldn't have wanted me to be locked up.
Benny: "Make sure nothing happens to Brenda." How many times did he say that to me? Many, many times. I'm just doing my job. Ok?
Brenda: Well, I guess you're better than looking at Jason.
Benny: Yeah. Yeah. I'm just the accountant, so --
Brenda: I should be nicer to Jason anyway.
Benny: Yeah, they were good friends.
Brenda: So you think Jason's going to take over again, Benny?
Benny: I don't discuss business.
Brenda: Oh, right, I'm sorry. What about Sonny's family?
Benny: Oh, Jason will look after everybody, don't worry.
Brenda: His poor wife. Carly.
Benny: Carly. Yeah. Jason is -- is with her at Sonny's funeral now.
Brenda: Right. It's good she's with him right now --
Brenda: At his funeral. It's good.
Carly: Jason. I was so worried. I --
Jason: It's ok. Taggert just pulled me in to harass me, that's it.
Carly: Well, I was afraid he was going to lock you up, and if you had missed this funeral, I don't think I could have --
Jason: Carly, it's going to be ok. You just have to get through this.
Bobbie: If you need anything --
Elizabeth: I am so sorry.
Monica: Are you all right?
Jason: So why -- why are you here?
Monica: Because I'm your mother and I know that you are suffering a big loss and I want to do anything I can for you.
Jason: I'm glad you came.
Carly: Who invited you?
Alexis: I thought it was the right thing to do. After what happened to my sister, I have some idea how you felt.
Carly: Oh, well, too bad we didn't cremate him so then I could throw Sonny's ashes in your face. I can weep, I can crawl on the ground. Are you looking for Sonny in there? You want to lie in there with him? I could have done the whole bit you did.
Alexis: I just wanted to show my respects --
Carly: Ok, well, this service the people Sonny loved, which means you don't belong. Get out.
Father Coates: Thank you, all of you, for being here today on this difficult day. We have joined together to pray for the soul of our departed friend, husband, father, brother, and son.
Brenda: You think Sonny was happy, Benny?
Benny: Yeah, I think he was most of the time, sure.
Brenda: I'm just -- I'm happy for him that he -- that he --
Benny: Something the matter?
Brenda: No. I just -- I get these really bad headaches.
Brenda: This one's just really bad. It's ok.
Benny: Well, could I get you something?
Brenda: No, no, I -- no. It's probably good for me to just rest. It's really the only thing that takes them away.
Benny: Do you want -- I'll get the lights.
Brenda: Oh, that'd be great. Thanks.
Brenda: I'll just -- I'm done with this tea.
Lucky: Come on. Yeah, Roy, it's lucky. Listen, I'm at the elm street pier. You were supposed to be here half an hour ago. You know what? Forget it. My dad and I must have got our wires crossed.
Luke: This is nice, riding to the joint with a big man like you, a big hero, a big D.A. The winner. You finally got me out of the picture, didn't you?
Scott: Yeah, I did. You are out of the picture.
Luke: Yeah. I'm out of the picture, all right, and that's good for you because now you don't have to try to measure up. You don't have to come in second all the time. You don't have to think about Laura and me together. You don't have to watch her marry me again. You don't have to stay up nights wondering what we're doing in bed together, and we were in bed together almost every night until you ruined her life.
Scott: I was trying to help her.
Luke: Yeah, well, you did a hell of a bad job of it, didn't you? Because now she's in a rubber room. You're no good at this game, man, no good at all. But that's ok because now when that little voice in the back of your mind tells you you're second best, you can take comfort in the fact that Laura's got about a thousand voices in her mind, thanks to you.
Scott: Just keep talking, Spencer, keep talking, because soon, you're going to be staring at bars.
Luke: I could have protected her, but you wouldn't have it! You would rather destroy her than let her go free.
Scott: You were unable to help her!
Luke: But you could? You could? We could have been in Canada by now or Morocco or Ireland or anywhere, doing what we do best -- loving on the run. But, no, you couldn't have that. You couldn't have that, so you destroyed her. You know, the doctor said that she could just step out of her cell for a little while, be somebody else. She could do that with me. You heard what he said -- she could have done that with me.
Scott: No, she needs doctors!
Luke: Yeah, doctors. She needed to be free. She needed time. She needed love and care, and that's what I could have given her, but not you. No, you wouldn't let that happen. You'd rather destroy her.
Scott: You destroyed her, Spencer! You did!
Luke: Yeah? You lied to her about Theresa Carter. You held that over her head.
Scott: I didn't hold anything over her head! Rick made sure that she was never going to find out about that!
Luke: But you messed that up, too, didn't you? You're not very good at this game, are you? What did you think, that secret was going to make her love you? She's not going to love you. She'll never love you, Scott. She loves me -- don't you get that? She's always going to be mine -- always, always mine. She loves me, Scott.
Scott: Pull over!
Officer: My orders say drive straight to Pentonville.
Luke: My goodness, you got that guy in the palm of your hand, don't you?
Scott: Pull this van over!
Officer: I can't disregard my orders.
Luke: You're so good at this. Nah, you're so good at this.
Scott: I'm the district attorney. I'm telling you what to do -- to pull the van over!
Luke: Very impressive.
Father Coates: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for our sinners, now --
Taggert: Sorry to interrupt!
Mike: I don't believe this.
Taggert: Sonny and the police go way back. I came to pay my respects.
Father Coates: We're in the middle of a service.
Taggert: Well, I'm in the middle of a murder investigation!
Father Coates: Take a seat and we'll continue.
Taggert: Not until I make sure who's in that coffin.
Mike: Can't you just let my son rest in peace?
Taggert: I'd like nothing better. I need to see who's in that coffin.
Father Coates: Can't this wait until after the service?
Carly: Get away from my husband!
Taggert: Get out of my way, Mrs. Cor--
Carly: Taggert, you hounded him in life, and now you're here again even when he can't defend himself!
Father Coates: Mrs. Corinthos --
Carly: No, wait! I mean, he's dead now! Can't you just be glad and leave it alone?
Taggert: Jason, don't make me arrest her.
Carly: Jason, don't. Don't let him do it. Jason, don't! I don't want to see him like that! I want to remember Sonny --
Bobbie: Are you satisfied?
Jason: Taggert, get out.
Carly: I can't handle this, Jason. I can't handle it. I thought I could, but I can't do it. I can't do it.
Jason: Thank you, guys, for coming, but the funeral's over, so I'm sorry, but you can all leave -- now, please.
A.J.: I don't want your money, approval, or anything.
Edward: Well, then, you don't want Michael.
A.J.: When I get my son back, he will live with me and my wife and have no ties to you at all.
Edward: Well, that's a pretty little pipe dream, A.J., But what judge would give you custody?
A.J.: I'm Michael's biological father.
Edward: A.J., You've already signed the boy away more than once and you are a drunk who keeps falling off and getting back on the wagon. And you live in a walkup in the worst part of town and you barely make minimum wage and your wife has a job as a stripper!
A.J.: I'll take my chances.
Edward: Oh. When you're serious about custody, you check with me, all right, because that Michael is my great-grandson and this family needs an heir, and I would prefer one with no Cassadine blood!
A.J.: Hmm. All right, here's the deal, all right? You pay all legal fees. Michael lives with me and Courtney. You see him once a month.
Edward: All right. The -- the boy lives in this house full-time and I'm in charge of his education.
A.J.: He lives with us, goes to public schools. You see him twice a month.
Edward: Michael lives here in this house.
A.J.: Not negotiable.
Edward: He goes to a school of my choice.
A.J.: Not a boarding school.
Edward: Fine. I get full visitation.
A.J.: Once a week with grandmother.
Edward: Oh. Your house, my school, three days.
Edward: All right, two days. Do we have a deal?
Luke: You're a real stickler for procedure, Mr.. D.A.
Officer: Sir, all of this is against procedure.
Scott: I need to speak to the prisoner, so take the van up the road and I'll -- I'll call you.
Luke: Yeah, we got a lot to talk about.
Scott: All right, Spencer.
Luke: You think Laura's locked up right now? You think maybe she's in a straitjacket? You think she's listening to all those voices in her head that you made come to her?
Scott: Shut up! I'm taking these cuffs off of you, Spencer.
Luke: Yeah? Go right ahead, Mr. D.A.
Scott: There we go. There we go. You know why I'm giving you this? Because I'm going to give you the beating that I gave you a long time ago.
Luke: All right, bring it on, barrister boy. Bring it on, man.
Scott: All right.
Luke: Come on, let's go.
Scott: How'd you like that, huh? Huh? How about this one? Huh? Does that feel good? Huh? Come on, come on. Get up, old man! Or are you too old, huh? You --
oh! Ah! Yeah! Looks like you do have something left --
Luke: Well, it took you long enough.
Luke: Ah, don't worry about him. He's breathing. He'll be all right.
Nikolas: Luke, he's going to wake up any second.
Luke: Yeah, and I'll club him with a two-by-four again.
Nikolas: I will say the plan worked, just like you said. I followed the van in a rental, and, in fact, I'm on a dirt road over here, so come on, come on. Where are we going? Canada? What?
Luke: What do you mean, "we"?
Nikolas: I mean, "we," you and me. I can get you out of here.
Luke: No, Nikolas, what you can do is get us both caught before morning. You got to get out of here before the cops double back.
Nikolas: Wait a second. Luke, what else can I do? Huh?
Luke: You can tell Lucky I'm sorry I lied to him. But if somebody had to get caught here, better you than him.
Nikolas: Ok, I understand that.
Luke: And give Lulu a hug and, you know, keep an eye on Barbara Jean. She's a lamb in the forest.
Nikolas: You're going to Mom, aren't you? Aren't you?
Luke: You haven't seen me. You don't know where I am. You got no idea what's going on.
Nikolas: Ok. I will say if anyone can help her, you can.
Luke: Right. Now, go on. Get out of here. Go on. Nikolas?
Nikolas: Yeah, yeah, yeah?
Luke: I'll tell your mother I couldn't have done this without you.
Nikolas: Thank you.
Luke: This fight ain't half over yet, babe.
Lucky: Hey, Taggert? When did my dad get taken to Pentonville?
Taggert: I have no idea.
Lucky: Well, how can I find out?
Taggert: Check with the D.A. tomorrow.
Lucky: Hey! Hey, will you wait a second?
Andy: Tag, hold on.
Taggert: Whatever it is, deal with it, all right?
Andy: We need to put an APB out on Luke Spencer. He got away.
Taggert: He what?
Andy: Yeah, the D.A.'S injured. Shackles? Are you sure? We don't know if Spencer's armed.
Taggert: What do you know about this?
Jason: I'll leave you alone with him.
Carly: Thank you, Jason, for everything.
Father Coates: Right. I couldn't believe it when the police came. I mean, what was I supposed to do? Ignore him? Continue saying the Hail Mary? I prayed mostly. Yeah.
Carly: I wonder if you can hear me. Maybe you can. So that was some funeral, huh? Leave it to Taggert. He just cannot let go. But I'll never let go either, Sonny. I love you now and I love you always. I love everything about us, and I wouldn't change a thing even if I could, not even that first night. You gave me my life, Sonny, and I love you.
Sonny: And I love you, too.
Carly: Hey. Hey.
Sonny: Where'd that -- oh. Ok.
Carly: Welcome back.
Sonny: I was someplace dark, and then I -- I heard your voice. What are we doing here?
Carly: Yeah, I was so scared, Sonny. I was so scared because I didn't think you were in that casket, and when Taggert went to open that lid, I -- I thought for a second you might be dead.
Sonny: Ok, you know what?
Sonny: I had to take something to lie in this thing. I tell you, it knocked me out cold.
Carly: You don't know how horrible this has been, pretending you were dead, going through all the feelings as if I really had lost you.
Sonny: Shh. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Don't, don't, don't, don't. Ok, come here. Come here.
Carly: Don't ever leave me.
Sonny: No. It's good, it's good, it's good, it's good.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Taggert: Looks like the D.A.'s coming down here to question you personally. You're our prime suspect.
A.J.: All is well between you two?
Skye: Yes. But that is not the surprise.
Zander: I'm leaving.
