Jax: I have no reason to maintain my peace with you.
Jason: I'm here to guard you. It's nonnegotiable.
Taggert: I have a few questions.
Lucky: Maybe Mom killed Rick.
Luke: I need you to remember, Laura.
Laura: I remember.
Sonny: I'm going to show you what you've done to your wife!
Laura: Luke's got me. He won't let me go.
[Pounding on door]
Luke: Hang up the phone, Laura!
Laura: No! Go away!
Nikolas: Is that Luke?
Laura: Please, come and get me. Hurry, please!
Nikolas: Mom -- Mom, where are you?
Luke: Give me the damn phone!
Nikolas: Mom, what's hap --
Lucky: Are you out of your mind?
Nikolas: What are you doing?
Gia: That was Laura!
Lucky: Yeah, so what? The phones are tapped.
Nikolas: Lucky, if I would have stayed on for one or two more seconds, she might have told me where she is.
Lucky: Would you feel better if Scott Baldwin found out where she is before we do?
Nikolas: It's not what we think. Luke and Laura did not run away together. He is holding her hostage.
Taggert: They hung up.
Scott: Taggert, what are you doing here? Finish the trace on Laura's call. You had her on for 30 seconds. That's plenty of time!
Taggert: Hey -- hey! We're doing all we can do here.
Scott: Well, do more! Luke is holding her against her will. We've got to get her away from him!
Laura: Please -- don't do this to me, please.
Luke: Sweetheart, I need you to listen to me.
Laura: Stay back.
Luke: I -- I won't come near you. I won't touch you, I -- I promise.
Laura: Let me go.
Luke: I will as soon as I can.
Laura: No, now.
Luke: You have to try to understand -- the cops are after us, Laura.
Laura: No, I don't believe you.
Luke: You can't make phone calls. You called Lucky, didn't you? His line is tapped. You can't keep calling people, or even the dimwits at the PCPD will figure out where we are.
Luke: No, that's not good. We don't need cops. And your son doesn't need cops. It isn't safe.
Laura: I've never been safe with you.
Luke: Outside of this place, none of us are safe.
Laura: I want to see my children.
Luke: Your kids are fine, honey.
Laura: No, they're not! I want to see my children! Why won't you let me?
Luke: I will. We'll both see them.
Laura: No. You're lying to me again! You see? You always lie to me. That's what you do! You always lie to me!
Luke: No, Laura -- Laura!
Laura: Let me go.
Luke: Laura, we're on the run. Just like the old days.
Laura: No. No, you're holding me prisoner!
Luke: We are on the run. We're laying low, honey. You know how to do that. You're an expert at it.
Laura: No. I want to go home! I want to go home to the people who love me.
Luke: I love you. I'm doing this because I love you.
Laura: Then prove it to me! Prove it! Let me go!
Alexis: I'm sorry to be calling you so late, Judge, but I have reason to believe that the district attorney is --
[Knock on door]
Alexis: Violating my client's rights. Yeah, he's put an illegal tap on Lucky Spencer's phone. So if any warrants based on that information come across -- yeah, I can prove that it's inadmissible. Thank you. I'd appreciate it. And again I'm sorry to call you so late. Good night.
Jax: Yeah, it's a little late to be calling judges, isn't it?
Alexis: Scott Baldwin is out of control.
Jax: Well, that's a good thing, as long as he's going after Corinthos.
Alexis: Yeah, well, his new target is Lucky Spencer.
Alexis: I'm sorry about Skye. I heard about it.
Jax: Well, I can't say I wasn't warned.
Alexis: If anyone on this planet deserves to be loved, it's you.
Jax: Yeah -- when you finally saw Sonny for what he is, did you want to be reminded?
Alexis: Nice weather we're having.
Jax: Don't have to go quite that far, but --
Alexis: Okay. How about those Yankees? Well, we could talk about soccer. I don't know anything about soccer. Why do they wear those shorts?
Jax: I need a lawyer. Someone out there seems hell-bent on bankrupting me. My family and I could lose everything if I don't do something.
Alexis: Do you have any idea who it is?
Jax: Well, it seems to be the same person that's going after Sonny.
Sonny: You call me filth? You call me a killer, A.J.? Look what your wife does to support her husband. I want you to make sure Courtney gets home, okay? Don't let him hurt her, but don't get in the way, either.
Sonny: Enjoy the show, my man.
Man: Let's give it up for the pride of the Oasis, the hottest little flower in the desert. And I do mean hot. Our main attraction -- Daisy!
Courtney: Are you ready, boys?
Courtney: Oh, come on, you're going to have to do better than that.
A.J.: Stop it! Stop it right now! Stop it! Stop! Stop!
A.J.: Let's go. Come on, I'm taking you home right now. Get off this stage. Let's go.
Coleman: Daisy isn't going anywhere, my man. She's got a job to do.
Coleman: Oh, go right ahead. You want to hit me, rich boy? Huh? Come on, man, give me your best shot.
Courtney: A.J., just get out of here!
A.J.: No --
Coleman: No, I'll be glad to press charges, send your sorry butt to jail.
A.J.: Let's go.
Courtney: Please, just go!
Coleman: Just hit me. Hit me.
A.J.: Not without you! I'm not going anywhere without you! Let's go, please.
Courtney: No, I have to stay.
A.J.: No, you don't. Don't let him do this to you, Courtney. Please, come home with me right now. Please.
Coleman: You're trespassing, loser.
A.J.: Get out of my face! Let's go.
Courtney: Just leave. Just leave.
A.J.: No, not without you. Please --
Courtney: Please, just leave. Please, just get him out of here!
A.J.: Courtney, no, they just -- get your hands off me, Jason!
A.J.: No. Courtney!
Coleman: Easy, killer. Easy, killer. Bye-bye.
[Cheers and applause]
Man: Come on! Hey, let's pump it up, right?
[Cheers and applause]
Nikolas: Laura was terrified. He was pounding on the door, screaming at her.
Lucky: You must have misunderstood --
Nikolas: I did not misunderstand, Lucky. She said it herself, straight out. He won't let her go. She needs our help.
Lucky: Dad would never hurt our mom.
Nikolas: Come on; come on, man, why can't you admit that we might have called this one wrong this time? She obviously saw him kill Rick Webber. She was the only witness. He grabbed her, now holding her hostage. We're not helping her by stonewalling the police. We're not helping!
Lucky: My dad would never hurt our mom!
Nikolas: I'm sorry, I can't take that chance.
Lucky: No, no, no -- wait a minute! Just wait a second!
Nikolas: What? What? What? What?
Lucky: Just think -- what good would it do to go down to the police department and tell them that we dragged Rick Webber's body all around town? That we knew about Theresa Carter? Now, you honestly believe that Scott Baldwin won't press charges, murder charges on all of us?
Gia: Lucky's right. Look, my brother warned me that Scott Baldwin is out for blood.
Lucky: And what if Mom calls? Who's going to answer the phone? The cops aren't on our side.
Nikolas: You got a better idea, huh?
Lucky: No, I don't -- not yet. But my dad's helping her, and I know that.
Nikolas: Not from what I just heard, he's not.
Lucky: What if she's losing it?
Nikolas: No, that's completely ridiculous.
Lucky: No, no, no --
Nikolas: It's ridiculous!
Lucky: Give it a second here. Just think about this. All those weird moments she was having in the attic -- those memories. And then, all the pressure from the wedding. And suddenly Rick Webber shows up in town weeks too early, and then he's dead? That sounds like a lot to me.
Gia: What do you think, Laura flipped out?
Lucky: And my dad's protecting her.
Nikolas: Oh, come on, Lucky, don't you think that's a little convenient?
Lucky: No, because my dad would have to take her away, wouldn't he? To figure out what he had to do next? What if that was what you heard? What if my dad's trying to save our mom?
Taggert: The call is untraceable, okay? I don't know how many ways I can tell you that. It was made from a cell phone. Laura could be anywhere.
Scott: Well, then get out there and start looking. In fact, let's just make it official -- I want an APB put out on Luke Spencer. He's armed, he's dangerous, and he has a hostage, all right?
Taggert: You mean Laura?
Taggert: I don't think so.
Scott: Listen, I don't give a damn what you think, Taggert! Do it!
Taggert: You know, I'm not too crazy about Luke Spencer, either, all right? The guy's always breaking the law. I can even buy that he killed Rick Webber, but he would never hurt Laura.
Scott: Listen to this.
Laura's voice: Luke's got me. He won't let me go.
[Pounding on door]
Luke's voice: Hang up the phone, Laura!
Laura's voice: No, go away!
Nikolas' voice: Is that Luke?
Laura's voice: Please, come and get me. Hurry, please!
Nikolas' voice: Mom, where are you?
Luke's voice: Give me the damn phone!
Scott: What do you think now, Taggert?
Taggert: Well, if Luke knew that Lucky Spencer's phone was tapped --
Scott: Luke is capable of hurting Laura. He's done it before, and he's doing it now, so I want you to get your people out there, and use whatever it takes to stop Spencer. I want him stopped!
[Door opens and closes]
Luke: Okay. Okay.
Luke: We've loved each other for such a long time. We made a life out of nothing. A good life. Stay with me. Stay with me. Let's fight this through together.
Laura: I don't know where we are.
Luke: Trust me. Trust me. You -- you always trusted me, even before I trusted myself. You've saved me so many times, Laura. Let me help you this time.
Laura: I'm scared.
Luke: Trust me. So many times I've put out my hand, and you took it on faith alone. Just one more time. Just take my --
Laura: Luke, I'm scared.
Luke: It's okay. Oh, baby, baby. I'll make this right. I promise. I promise. I promise.
Jax: Well, you know, a lot depends on the oil lease map. My family's made a considerable investment in this project.
Alexis: So you think Roy is a suspect? Why?
Jax: Well, one minute, he's a bartender, the next minute, he's buying Pier 52. I mean, somebody's backing him to start a war with Sonny. And it cost you Kristina. Look, if this is too painful for you, I'll find another way.
Alexis: I owe it to my sister to find out what happened, and whoever's responsible for that explosion should be punished.
Jax: You're okay, then?
Alexis: All right, this so-called mystery man -- you think he's using Roy to go after Sonny?
Jax: Yeah, Roy stole the oil map.
Alexis: Are you sure it wasn't Skye?
Jax: Well, she says she didn't. I have no reason to believe her, but it hasn't shown up at E.L.Q., and no one has claimed any leases.
Alexis: Maybe she's biding her time.
Jax: It's possible. But here's the strange part -- somebody sent me back half the oil map. Now, that was way before Edward's stroke, and he would never have let that happen.
Alexis: All right, this is a stretch, but maybe Skye is having an attack of guilt.
Jax: Well, why would she only send back half the map?
Alexis: As a bargaining chip.
Jax: What if Skye has nothing to do with it? What if the mystery man is dealing with a turncoat?
Alexis: Dissensions in the rank?
Jax: Either way, I still have to protect myself.
Alexis: How's Edward?
Ned: About the same.
Jax: Your timing's impeccable as usual.
Alexis: We're having one of those attorney-client confidentiality moments.
Jax: Well, actually, I could use his input.
Ned: Sure. What's up?
Jax: Who hates Sonny enough to use Roy against him?
Ned: Who cares?
Alexis: Well, the mystery man seems to be going after Jax, too.
Ned: Well, then, Jax, why don't you just get out of the way, so we can let the mystery man destroy Sonny? Save the rest of us the trouble.
Sonny: Is he all right?
Carly: Yeah. He wanted to wait up until you got home, make sure you were okay. Didn't quite make it, did you, Mr. Man?
Sonny: Ohh. He's had a long day.
Carly: We all have.
Sonny: I'll take him up.
Carly: Got him?
Carly: I'm glad you're home.
Coleman: Hey, man, thanks for helping me out with that guy.
Jason: Yeah, do you know Sonny Corinthos? Courtney is his sister.
Jason: Yeah. She'll be leaving, and she won't be coming back.
Coleman: Courtney and I have a deal. She wants to honor it.
Jason: Hey, we're not negotiating. Courtney's finished. Mr. Corinthos does not want you to bother her again. You will not try to get her to dance again. You will not threaten to send her husband to jail.
Coleman: Look, Mr. Corinthos was just in here himself, so they've obviously got something worked out.
Jason: You know what, he has a problem with you blackmailing his sister, and my job is to eliminate his problems. Is that clear?
Coleman: Yeah. We're clear. Tell Mr. Corinthos I said no problem, okay? I understand.
Jason: That's it. Come on. You can go.
Courtney: I have to do this for my husband.
Jax: No, no, no, you can leave right now. Just walk off the stage.
Courtney: He saw me. Oh, God, A.J. saw me.
Jason: That's okay.
Jax: What happened to Ned Ashton, the mild-mannered music promoter?
Ned: He has left the building.
Jax: The corporate shark's back?
Ned: Losing Kristina made me realize who we're dealing with here. Sonny has to be stopped at any cost. So why don't we just let this guy take Sonny out?
Jax: Because he's coming after me, too.
Ned: Why do you think God gave us Switzerland? Off-shore banking? Consolidate your debt. Liquidate everything if you have to. Just hide your money, and let this guy focus on Corinthos.
Jax: You want me to cut my losses?
Ned: Yeah. Isn't that what you do best?
Jax: Why should I go into hiding?
Ned: Why would you want to fight Sonny's enemy for him? Wouldn't that make you his ally? But if you step out of the way, Jax, listen to me, Sonny could lose everything -- all of his money, all of his power. Isn't that what you want?
Alexis: That's a good plan, Jax.
Jax: I guess I'll have to reconsider my options. Thanks.
Alexis: I'll help you in any way that I can.
Jax: I'll talk to you soon.
Alexis: You'll call me if you need anything.
Alexis: You amaze me, even now.
Ned: Then you like my plan?
Alexis: It's certainly a way to make sure that my baby stays safe from Sonny.
Carly: Why don't you come to bed?
Sonny: No, no, no.
A.J.: Get out of my way.
Johnny: You're leaving now.
A.J.: Get your hands off me.
Sonny: Okay, go upstairs.
Carly: No, no, no, I've got something to say to A.J. first.
Sonny: Let him in, Johnny.
A.J.: How long did you know?
Sonny: Okay, okay, keep it down.
A.J.: How long did you know my wife was stripping?
Sonny: My son is upstairs. If you don't keep your voice down, you're going to leave.
A.J.: You knew for weeks, didn't you, Sonny? You let my wife degrade herself just waiting for the right moment to shove it in my face?
Carly: No, your wife is stripping because she wants to keep you out of jail, because you were driving drunk, because you are too weak and pathetic to take care of your own mistakes. You know, you are no man, A.J., and you're never going to be. You break my son's heart for revenge.
A.J.: I told him the truth.
Carly: No, you hurt him so you could back at me.
A.J.: Yeah, and who let him out in the middle of the night, roaming the pier, huh? Who couldn't keep him at home? And who started this whole thing by lying to people about my little boy? You caused this whole thing, and now my wife is supposed to pay for it?
Carly: No, Courtney is paying because of you, A.J.
A.J.: You know, you are the one who should be up on that stage stripping, the slut that you are.
Sonny: Hey, wait, wait, wait. You have anything else to say to him?
Carly: Yeah. You're never going to hurt my son again. Ever.
Sonny: All right, first of all, when I found out that Courtney was stripping, I asked her to stop. She refused because she wanted to honor the deal to protect --
A.J.: Oh, come on.
Sonny: What do you mean?
A.J.: You expect me to believe that? For all I know, Sonny, you owned it, and you were pimping her out. Is it worth it? Is it really worth it just to see the look on my face? You think I hurt your little boy, my little boy, so now you destroy your sister? What is this, some kind of a code of honor thing?
Sonny: I showed you the truth, A.J.
A.J.: You want the truth? The truth is what I told Michael.
Sonny: What is that?
A.J.: You kill people.
A.J.: You ruin people's lives, Sonny.
Sonny: If Courtney is ruined, it's because of you.
Courtney: My purse is in the dressing room.
Jason: I'll take care of it.
Courtney: So are my clothes.
Jason: You never have to go back to that place again.
Courtney: I am supposed to be there right now. God, I only had two more weeks left. Five days a week, five dances a night, 50 more times on stage, and it would have been done. A.J. would never have seen me. Why did you have to bring my husband to that place? Why did you have to hurt him like that?
Jason: Do you want to take a shower or change your clothes or something?
Courtney: Why? Don't you like me like this? Come on, Jason. It isn't anything you haven't seen before. Sitting there in the dark, watching me, show after show, guarding me. I thought you understood what it was costing me to be up there. God, how much I hated it.
Jason: I know you hated it.
Courtney: Then why? Why did you make all this for nothing? Why did you bring my husband to that place? Why did you make him see me dancing in front of all those men? No, you did this. You made A.J. hate me. You did this!
Courtney: I want you to leave.
Jason: I can't.
Courtney: My brother told you to guard me while I was dancing. Well, I am not dancing anymore, so get out. Sonny has what he wants. Sonny did this. Sonny made you drag A.J. to that club, didn't he? That's what happened, right? Why are you protecting him? Why won't you just admit that Sonny did this? God, it had to be Sonny.
Jason: What happened happened. There's nothing you can change. All that matters now is what you do with it.
Courtney: What I do with it? What, are you out of your mind? I lost the man that I love tonight, the man that gave up his fortune to be with me. My husband saw me stripping, okay? He asked me to leave with him. But did I? No. No, I get his brother to drag him out while I take off the rest of my clothes for a bunch of drunks.
Jason: You were doing it to help A.J., to keep him out of prison.
Courtney: He's never going to believe that. A.J. thinks that I am perfect, clean. But now I'm just dirty. And I will always be. And he's never going to want to lay a hand on me.
Jason: Your husband needed help, so you stood up, even though it really hurt. If A.J. can't see that, he doesn't deserve you.
Sonny: I used to run a strip club. And the women who danced for me always had reasons. Some would break your heart, but no woman who ever worked for me stripped to keep her husband out of prison. That's how much my sister loves you.
A.J.: I love Courtney, too, Sonny, but you can't handle that.
Sonny: Is that how you show your love? By marrying a woman under false pretenses? By trying to trade -- trying to trade Michael on your wedding night? You have her waiting tables to pay your rent? And then you drive drunk with her beside you.
A.J.: Now, I told her not to get in the car with me, but she wouldn't listen.
Sonny: But you drove away, anyway. And other people have to pay the price, like Jason, like Michael.
A.J.: Look, I would never deliberately hurt Courtney. Not like you just did.
Sonny: Oh, yeah, you would.
A.J.: Oh, would I?
Sonny: Yeah. You just won't admit it. You hurt her the night you married her. You hurt her when you drank. You hurt her when you slammed your car into that strip joint.
A.J.: I didn't know she was --
Sonny: You have -- shut up! You have failed Courtney in every way a husband can fail a wife. Don't say a word.
Sonny: And then you tell Michael that I kill people.
A.J.: Do you deny it?
Sonny: I do what I got to do to protect the people, yeah, that I care about -- my wife, my family. Carly would never humiliate herself to clean up my mess because she'll always be protected, always be honored. Not like your wife. She has no choice. She's taking off her clothes in front of drunk people to save you, to save you because you can't save yourself. You're not a husband. You're not a father. You're nothing. And I want you -- every time you look at Courtney, I want you to remember that she's stripping, and I want you to remember why. It's going to be like something, you know, there forever. Like an invisible wall between you and Courtney.
A.J.: Courtesy of Sonny Corinthos.
Sonny: Hey, she's dancing on that stage because of you, A.J., nobody else. I didn't tell you to leave.
A.J.: Don't --
Sonny: Hey, wait a minute.
A.J.: You know what?
Sonny: I did not ask you to leave. You think that's funny? You think that's funny?
A.J.: Are you almost finished?
Sonny: You think that's funny? Next time you see Michael, and you even think to break his heart or break his faith in his family, remember this night and stay away.
Nikolas: I'm with you, all right, but as far as Mom losing her mind, I think that's grasping at straws, man. I do.
Lucky: It's happened before. You know it. Back when she thought that I was dead?
Nikolas: Yeah, and it was a nightmare for everyone involved.
Lucky: Yeah, but that put her in the hospital, right? And then you came along, and when I hid Lulu, I mean, she completely lost it. Maybe that's happening again.
Gia: If she actually saw Luke kill Rick Webber --
Nikolas: Okay, yeah, it would be a traumatic experience, yes.
Lucky: What if it's the other way around? What if my dad saw what really happened? What if our mother killed Rick Webber?
Laura: I want to go home.
Luke: We'll find our way home. We always do.
Laura: Yeah. Okay. Okay. I'll do whatever you want.
Luke: You mean that?
Laura: Yeah. I want to go back home. I want to see our children again. And our wedding -- we haven't had our wedding yet.
Laura: Oh, Lesley Lu wants to be the flower girl so badly. And Rick -- he came all this way just to give me away again.
Luke: Darling, that can't happen.
Scott: Yeah, yeah, I know it's past deadline, but you don't want to miss this story.
Taggert: Hey, you know what? An APB based on an illegally taped phone conversation will never hold up in court.
Scott: Taggert, did you just get a law degree?
Taggert: Hey, you know what? Fine. It's your case. You deal with it.
Scott: You're damn right it's my case. I want Spencer caught.
Taggert: And they say I'm obsessed.
Jax: You didn't have to call a press conference on my behalf.
Taggert: Good luck taking the limelight away from the D.A.
Jax: What can I do for you, detective?
Taggert: I'm trying to locate Skye Quartermaine.
Jax: I'm no longer in touch with Skye. The engagement is off, in case you hadn't heard.
Taggert: Did she go back to Llanview?
Jax: She could be there. She could be in Timbuktu for all I know.
Taggert: So I guess it won't bother you to hear that Skye is the prime suspect in who pulled the plug on Edward's ventilator.
Jax: Not in the least.
Taggert: Is that why you dumped her?
Lucky: Hey, Nikolas, put on the TV, please.
Nikolas: They found Laura?
Gia: Is that why the police called here?
Lucky: No, Scott Baldwin's giving a press conference. Here, quick.
Nikolas: There he is.
Scott: The district attorney's office has discovered compelling new evidence in the tragic murder of Rick Webber. Based on that evidence, we're issuing a warrant for the arrest of Luke Spencer --
Scott: For the murder of Dr. Rick Webber and kidnapping of Laura Spencer.
Nikolas: He heard the phone call.
Lucky: I told you.
Scott: An all-points bulletin has been issued. Luke Spencer's considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Nikolas: Okay. All right. What do we do now, huh?
Lucky: I don't know. I just hope my dad does.
Laura: Why can't it happen? You said you were going to make everything okay.
Luke: Yes, but we have to deal with reality, Laura. Rick Webber is dead.
Laura: No, he's not. I talked to him. He's -- that's why he's coming back to Port Charles, to give me away.
Luke: Sweetheart, Rick is dead. He died in the attic. It was an accident.
Laura: No, he didn't. No, he didn't! He didn't die! No! He didn't. No!
Alexis: My loyalty is getting the best of me.
Ned: What do you mean?
Alexis: Despite everything that's happened, I still want to warn Sonny. I want to tell him to beware of the mystery man.
Ned: But you won't.
Alexis: But I can't because, in truth, my child will have a better shot at life if the mystery man wins, if Sonny is powerless, bankrupt, and driven out of town.
Ned: I will do whatever it takes to keep your child away from Sonny.
Alexis: I forgot how ruthless you can be.
Ned: Is that a problem?
Alexis: I'm glad you're on my side.
Carly: Hey. I love you.
Courtney: Did A.J. call while I was in the shower?
Jason: The phone hasn't rung.
Courtney: You planning on staying all night?
Courtney: Do you really want to help me?
Jason: Yeah, if I can.
Courtney: Then go find A.J. He's in trouble. I'm not.
Jason: My orders are to guard you.
Courtney: Look, I'm safe here. He's out wandering the streets. He's drunk by now.
Courtney: A.J. gets crazy when he's drinking.
Jason: I know.
Courtney: He does things. He hurts himself.
Jason: He hurts other people more.
Courtney: I can't help him, but you can.
Jason: I can't.
Courtney: Please. Jason, please help me. Please, if he does something terrible tonight, it's going to be all my fault.
A.J.: A toast! To Daisy, the hottest -- the hottest desert flower. Or whatever the hell they say -- the hottest flower in the desert. Yeah, that's it. And I do mean hot. And it's all for me. All for me.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Sonny: The Oasis burned down last night.
Sonny: Ask Courtney's husband.
Jax: Now that we're face-to-face, there's something familiar about you.
Luke: Rick's dead.
Laura: Oh, God, no.
