>> Previously on "General Hospital" --

Ned: She gave us every opportunity to trust her with the truth, and we didn’t.

Elizabeth: He said Sonny will never touch him because he has what Sonny wants.

Sonny: The only thing Jax and I have in common is Brenda. Brenda's dead.

Zander: Who are you?

Skye: I have your copy of the contract, but I’m sure there are others out there just waiting to get themselves into Jax's hands.

Michael: Are you taping?

Carly: Yep. I'm taping.

Michael: Come on, work this time!

[Knock on door]

Carly: Whoa. Oop -- hold on, hold on. Hey.

Woman: Hi. I came by to pick up Bryan. Come on, honey, let's get your things together.

Carly: Oh, you know, there must be some mix-up on the time. Bryan just got here.

Woman: You know, the nanny set up this play date. I hadn't realized that you and Michael had moved back in with your husband. Bryan won't be coming here again.

Carly: Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. Hey, Bryan? Thanks for coming by. We'll see you.

Bryan: Bye.

Michael: Bye.

Michael: Why does Bryan have to leave? Did I do something bad?

[Zander groans]

Woman: What are you doing out of bed?

Zander: I want out of here.

Woman: You'll make a noise and be discovered.

Zander: Look, you think I should stay here and let you drug me some more?

Woman: Trust me, if Alcazar finds out you're here, you'll be killed.

Zander: Okay, then help me. Help me escape, please.

Woman: Not until my mistress finds out everything she needs to know about Sonny Corinthos and Jasper Jacks.

Jason: No need for any weapons.

Alcazar: Looks like you got me surrounded.

Sonny: I understand you have something I want.

Monica: Well, Skye is still here.

Alan: She's been sitting there all night. She said she's given up the battle for E.L.Q. I think she means it.

Monica: Or maybe she's just waiting for the coast to be clear so she can pull the plug.

Alan: I don't appreciate that, Monica. I really believe that she's changed. Her priorities are different.

Jax: As amazing as it may seem, your happy family is not the center of Skye’s universe anymore. It's a real pity that you didn't get to know her when she was living under your roof. You didn't get to see what an amazing woman she is.

Skye: I hate that I made a deal with you to ruin the man that I love. Why did you play on my fears and insecurities? But I was stupid enough to believe you instead of Jax. Part of me wishes you'd never wake up. Unfortunately, I need to know if the copies of the contract that I have are the only ones out there or if you've planted others for Jax to find. Grandfather, the doctors don't think you're going to make it. Please, for once in your life, will you do the right thing towards me?

Petra: I found this in the maestro's desk. It was addressed to you, to be opened in the event of his death. I thought you'd want to have it right away.

Edward's voice: "Ned, if you're reading this, it means that Skye has already done her worst. I trust you will use the enclosed to exact proper retribution. Spare Lila’s feelings wherever possible, but get rid of that viper Skye for the good of the family."

Petra: What does it mean?

Ned: It means my dear cousin Skye is about to have her world blown apart.

Carly: Sweetheart, you didn't do anything wrong.

Michael: Then why did Bryan have to leave? Why doesn't Bryan’s mommy like it that I'm living with Daddy now?

Carly: Well, sweetie, you know what? It is too bad, but Bryan’s mommy -- she doesn't like Daddy.

Michael: Why? Did they have a fight?

Carly: No, sweetie. You know, Bryan’s mom doesn't even know your daddy and she is making a mistake. Like a lot of people do, she's judging him without knowing him.

Michael: Why?

Carly: Michael, your daddy is a very powerful man. He has a lot of money, and, more importantly, he is in charge of a lot of people, and they do what he tells them to.

Michael: Like Max and Johnny?

Carly: That's right. Max and Johnny do what Daddy tells them to. And so do all the workers in his warehouse and on the island where we go sometimes. And, you know, they all -- they all work for Daddy and doing what he wants is just part of their job.

Michael: But what's Daddy's job?

Sonny: I assume you're here to open negotiations.

Alcazar: I have no interest in doing business with you.

Sonny: Well, you went to a lot of trouble to get my attention. You bankrolled that snitch DiLucca to come after me. You blew up my warehouse. You interfered with my business.

Alcazar: Why would I bother?

Sonny: Well, you tell me. You moved Roy against me. Now you got him going after Jax. That can't be good for your real business. People buy arms from you. They like discretion. And they're based in Europe, right?

Alcazar: You're well informed.

Sonny: Yeah. I make it a point to know everything about the people who make trouble for me.

Alcazar: Well, I can assure you, you don't know everything about me.

Sonny: Well, what I do know is there is nothing for you here. Go back to Europe. Take Roy with you if you need a little errand boy. But you're not going to be comfortable here and you're not going to be successful.

Alcazar: You need to understand who you're dealing with, Mr. Corinthos. You take off your well-tailored suit, you're just a soldier from Bensonhurst in over his head. Now, I'm going to make you a one-time offer -- disappear now while you still can.

Sonny: I guess this concludes our negotiations. I made you an offer to walk away. You refused. The next move is mine.

Jason: He's acting like he has leverage against you.

Sonny: Find out what it is.

Zander: Tell whoever you are working for I don't know anything else. Sonny is married. Sonny and Carly are at each other's throats one second and then they're crazy about each other the next. He even adopted her kid. Jax is engaged and -- I mean, why does any of this matter to the woman you're working for?

Woman: What if I told you at one time she loved both these men? She wants to find out if they still love her.

Zander: Okay, look, I don't know that much about Jax, okay? He seems happy enough. But Sonny I've worked with. I saw him almost every day, and he never mentioned any woman from the past. So whoever this lady is that you're working for, Sonny got over it a long time ago.

Alan: For my daughter's sake and for my family's, I hope that Skye’s not the only one who's changed. The last thing that my father needs if he -- when he recovers is to be drawn back into a battle over E.L.Q.

Jax: The last thing you need, you mean. Because your father loves the fight, you know that.

Alan: Whether he loves it or not, it's killing him, and I don't want Skye caught in the middle.

Jax: Well, I couldn't agree more. Your family's done enough damage where Skye is concerned.

Alan: You don't know anything.

Monica: Look, I'm not standing up for Skye, but it is very difficult for all of us to trust you when the whole relationship has been about E.L.Q. right from the start.

Jax: Right. Yeah, it has been. When I first met Skye, we -- we helped each other out to get what we want.

Alan: E.L.Q.

Jax: But we're past that now. We're getting married because we love each other, because we want to spend the rest of our lives together.

Alan: Well, then I hope that you and my daughter will be very happy and that you'll leave E.L.Q. alone. Skye needs to stop obsessing about destructive vendettas and start concentrating on positive things.

[Pager beeps]

Jax: Right.

Monica: Excuse me. I'm going to be in OR 3 if there's any change.

Alan: I'll walk you down.

[Phone rings]

Jax: Hey, Dad. Have they countered yet? No, of course not. We're not going to sign anything until we've seen the final specs. Yeah, damn right. This would be a done deal if we had the complete map. Yes, dad, I understand what's at stake here. Right. I'll get on it right away. Bye. I have to take care of something. You okay?

Jax: Did he showing any sign --

Skye: Of coming to? No. I thought maybe it was something, but it was nothing.

Jax: I'll be back soon.

Ned: Jax? I have something here you'll want to see.

Jax: It's going to have to wait.

Ned: No. No, it's important.

Jax: I'll call you.

Ned: Today. He thinks you love him.

Skye: I do.

Ned: I have a contract right here that says you intended to cut Jax's head off and hand it to Grandfather on a platter. And you better believe I'm going to show Jax this contract.

Ned: Grandfather, I got your letter. Don't you worry, Skye will never get her hands on E.L.Q.

Skye: I don't want E.L.Q.

Ned: Save it! I know the whole ugly truth. I know this whole falling in love with Jax was nothing but a plan.

Skye: I am in love with Jax.

Ned: I read the contract, Skye!

Skye: Look, I was in a jealous rage when I was manipulated into signing that, okay? I don't want E.L.Q. I love Jax.

Ned: Really? Well, I'd almost believe you if I hadn't read the contract that says if you help bankrupt Jax, Grandfather will make you his sole heir.

Skye: Look, Grandfather played on my fears and insecurities, and he led me to believe that Jax was cheating on me.

Ned: Really? So you believed Grandfather over the man you swear you love?

Skye: Look, I panicked, okay, and Grandfather took advantage of that.

Ned: Stop talking right now. I know your so-called love is a scam. And once I tell Jax about this contract, he will drop you so fast that Grandfather may wake up to lead the cheer. And since you failed to bankrupt Jax, well, that means the contract is void and you won't get one dime, not one single share of E.L.Q.

Skye: Look, Ned, I can explain this, okay?

Ned: Oh, please do.

Skye: Listen, after Grandfather misled me and I signed that, I found out that Jax had never been unfaithful. Grandfather showed me a photograph of Jax giving another woman a necklace, and it turns out she was just an old family friend who's in the jewelry business and who acted as an agent in buying this necklace, my -- my engagement gift.

Ned: So there won't be a problem if I tell the Jax the truth because you've already been honest with him? That's what I thought.

Skye: Ned, please, just -- look, Jax loves me, okay? He wants to make a life with me. That is all I care about. Now, Grandfather has been hanging that contract over my head, trying to get me to sabotage Jax and his business dealings, but I wouldn't cooperate, okay? I don't want E.L.Q. You're welcome to it. All I want is to marry Jax. Please.

Ned: So you've been trying to get out of this deal?

Skye: Yes.

Ned: Hmm. And Grandfather being Grandfather laughed in your face because, well, he wouldn't let you out.

Skye: Well, it was a brilliant plan. I mean, he bankrupts Jax, he takes away my happiness -- two birds with one stone. Not that he had an ounce of compassion for you. If that contract had actually been enforced, you and the rest of the Quartermaines would have been left out of that will completely.

Ned: You asked Grandfather to tear up this contract, and he refused.

Skye: I begged him.

Ned: You know, I can actually see Grandfather, you know, holding you to this deal, forcing you to go through with stabbing Jax in the back. Is that what you were arguing about when he had a stroke?

Skye: Yeah. I was trying to get him to give me his copy of the contract.

Ned: And he refused, so you pushed him into a stroke.

Skye: No!

Ned: Just like you pushed him into the heart attack earlier.

Skye: No!

Ned: What did you say to him?

Skye: I didn't say anything!

Ned: You tried to kill him!

Skye: No, I didn't, damn it! Damn you, wake up! You wake up right now and you tell him I didn't do anything to you!

Carly: Okay, so your daddy has two businesses. One is casinos -- you know, it's where people -- they play those games and they try and win a lot of money.

Michael: What's wrong with that?

Carly: Well, nothing's wrong with that, sweetheart, and nothing is wrong with your daddy's other business, either. You know how grownups like to drink coffee? Yeah. Well, coffee -- it doesn't come from this country. Coffee grows on a plant that grows in a country where it doesn't get cold in the winter, I think. Anyway, what your daddy does is he buys coffee from those countries, and the people -- they stick them on a ship and they ship them over here into the Port Charles harbor. And then the people who work for your daddy -- they take it off the ship, they put it in the warehouse, and your daddy sells it to stores, a lot of stores.

Michael: And that makes Daddy powerful?

Carly: Sweetheart, it's more than just what your daddy owns, okay? He's a very smart man and he's -- he's very good at getting people to do what he wants. And sometimes people get jealous because of it and they say bad things about him.

Michael: They're wrong. Daddy's good. He's the best dad in the world.

Carly: You know what? You are right about that. He is the best dad in the world. And you know what? He is the best husband, and no matter what anybody thinks, it is up to you and it's up to me to tell them that every chance we get. Okay? Okay.

Sonny: What does Alcazar have on me? What does he mean, he's got something I want?

Jason: Hey, look, it could be a bluff. He was talking to Roy. Who knows what Alcazar tells Roy to get him to cooperate? Okay, come here. Right here. That's his yacht, the one with the zephyr alongside it.

Sonny: He's asked me to come after him.

Jason: You think it's a trap?

Sonny: No, I think Alcazar -- he's bluffing. He's under so much pressure that he wants me to back off for whatever reason. But you know what? As long as I don't move, the pressure's just going to get worse for Mr. Alcazar. And desperate people make mistakes.

Man: Corinthos is a dangerous man. He can hurt us.

Alcazar: I'll handle Corinthos. He's in my way, and I'm going to obliterate him, even a memory of him.

Jason: Somebody else just walked in.

Sonny: Let me see.

Sonny: There's no one visible.

Jason: They must have just walked out.

Sonny: Did you get a look at anybody?

Jason: No, it was just Alcazar. I didn't see the woman's face.

Sonny: All right, I want -- I want you to find out everything you can about her. I want you to get a photo. Maybe she can be useful in dealing with this Alcazar. Now, as long as he's making it easy, we'll keep surveillance on him and his yacht at all times. I want to know everything there is to know about this guy. I want his weaknesses. I want his schedule. I want to know what he wants so we can take it from him.

Carly: Okay. It's almost ready here. Hey, Michael? Sweetie, are you still upset about what happened with Bryan’s mommy?

Michael: I'm just coming up with ways to tell Daddy how much we love him.

Carly: Yeah? Well, any of them you want to share with me? Huh?

[Phone rings]

Carly: Oh. You hold that thought, okay? Here. Hello? Oh, hey. Yeah. Oh, no, no. This time I want to redo the guest bedroom. Yeah. Hey, hang on one second. Hey, Michael, I'll be right back, okay? Yeah, I've got some colors already in mind, and I've got some paint samples upstairs. Yeah.

Michael: Hi, Dad. It's me, Michael. I just want to tell you how much I love you and I'm glad that you're my daddy.

Carly: Hey, Michael? Since Leticia’s not back yet, I need you to run an errand with me, okay? We need to go to the paint store and we're going to meet the painter there and we're going to pick out some colors. Sound good?

Michael: Okay.

Carly: Okay.

Zander: I've told you what I know.

Woman: I have to go.

Zander: No, wait a second. You let me out of here. You let me talk to this Alcazar guy.

Woman: No. You need to stay here out of sight. Haven't you heard anything that I've said?

Zander: Look, alcazar is who I came here to see, okay, before you hit me on the head.

Woman: Alcazar will kill you if he finds out you're here. Be quiet.

Zander: I have information to sell him.

Woman: He doesn't need your information. He already knows everything he needs to know about Sonny Corinthos.

Zander: Well, then you let him tell me to my face. Or you know what? Forget Alcazar completely and just help me get out of here. Look, I have answered all of your stupid questions. I've told you everything I know about Jax and Sonny's love lives.

Woman: Do you want to die? Alcazar will kill you. He doesn't tolerate uninvited guests. And he'll kill you if you don't stay absolutely quiet. I'll be back.

Alcazar: You went to a lot of trouble to see me. Here I am.

Skye: I did not try to kill Grandfather. You can't make someone have a stroke. I didn't want this to happen.

Ned: Of course you did. It would solve all your problems.

Skye: No, I went to Grandfather to try and get out of the contract. He had a stroke before he could destroy it.

Ned: I don't believe that for one second. That's why Grandfather sent me the contract -- because he knew you would come after him. He wants me to protect E.L.Q. --

Skye: Ned, take the damn company, all right? Just tear up that contract and --

Ned: And trust you?

Skye: And never show Jax --

Ned: And trust you? The way you turn on people? The way you say one thing to a person's face and then turn around and stab them in the back? I'm going to tell Jax the truth because that's what I want him to tell me. Nobody wants to be played for a fool, and finding out early is a hell of lot better than finding out later.

Skye: Ned, I was the fool, okay? Something wonderful happened to me, and I couldn't trust it. And then I made a mistake, and I made it worse by trying to cover it up. Haven't you ever done anything like that? Haven't you ever wished for a second chance? Wished with all your heart that you'd done things a little different and maybe you'd been a little more honest? Ned, please, I found love. Don't take it away from me.

Ned: Jax needs to be told. Anything less will destroy him in the end. Because that's what secrets do. They kill love. They even kill people.

Skye: Hey, Ned, whatever happened between you and Kristina --

Ned: Jax will be told!

Skye: Please, just let me be the one to tell him.

Jax: Tell me what?

Jax: Is this about what you wanted to show me before?

Skye: Please.

Ned: Skye will fill you in.

Jax: Since when do you and Ned collaborate on anything?

Skye: That document that Ned was holding was a contract with my signature on it. I made a deal with the devil. And the devil was Grandfather.

Jax: A contract for what?

Monica: Alan?

Alan: Hi. Sorry, I didn't hear you. How did the surgery go?

Monica: Well, actually it was -- I think he had a textbook response. I think he's going to make a full recovery.

Alan: Well, that's because he had a brilliant surgeon.

Monica: It must be pretty bad.

Alan: Excuse me?

Monica: Whatever is in that file must be pretty bad because you never pay me a compliment unless something is troubling you or you're cheating on me. And I haven't seen any signs of an affair lately.

Alan: Where would I find the time, Monica? Between trying to run the hospital and worrying about my father, I barely have time to take a breath, let alone sneak off with somebody.

Monica: Would that be Edward’s file?

Alan: I had it copied so I could have a look at his records. He should have woken up by now. What if he doesn't? I don't want to see him be in a coma for years. And I'm sure that he doesn't want it, either.

Monica: Are you thinking of taking him off life-support? \

Zander: I used to -- used to work for Sonny Corinthos, so I know a lot about his operation -- personnel, shipping schedules, security. And I can find out more.

Alcazar: That's not the information I want from you. I want to know what the nurse asked you about Corinthos and Jasper Jacks.

Zander: Their love lives. Everything about their love lives.

Alcazar: Go on.

Zander: Well, I don't know that much about their love lives, so I didn't have that many answers.

Alcazar: What were the questions?

Zander: Uh -- are they married? When did they get married? How long have they been engaged? What's Sonny's relationship with his adopted son like? Is he in love with his wife? Is Jax in love with the woman that he's engaged to? I mean, just weird questions.

Alcazar: And what did you tell the nurse?

Zander: Well, just -- all I know is that Sonny just remarried his wife and Jax is engaged and they seem to be doing fine in that department.

Alcazar: Sit down. Did you speak to anyone but the nurse?

Zander: No.

Alcazar: Did the nurse say what prompted her to ask these questions?

Zander: The woman she works for.

Alcazar: Did the nurse indicate why her mistress has any interest in these two men?

Zander: The lady used to love Sonny and Jax and she wanted to see if there was a chance that either of them still loved her.

Alcazar: And what was your answer?

Zander: That they both moved on. So, this mistress, is -- is she your wife? Your girlfriend? Is that why you're going after Sonny? Are you going to go after Jax next? Is that what this is all about?

Alcazar: Corinthos and Jacks are potential obstacles, bad habits my woman could return to unless they're taken care of.

Zander: You're going to kill them?

Alcazar: It's always a possibility. But first I want her to lose all respect for them. See, a woman's respect is more valuable than her love.

Zander: So you're going to wreck Sonny and Jax just to keep this woman all to yourself?

Alcazar: That's exactly what I'm going to do.

Jason: Alcazar's a professional. He definitely knows how to protect himself.

Sonny: Well, this man's pushing this. He's pushing me. He thinks I won't end it? Watch. He comes to hurt me, I'll hurt him back. If he comes after me again, send that boat to the bottom of the harbor with him in it.

Sonny: This man came after me. I don't even know why. I mean, I didn't go looking for this. But I'll tell you what, I'll do what I got to do to protect what's mine.

Jason: You want me to take care of it?

Michael: Daddy!

Sonny: Hey, hey, hey! What's up?

Michael: Nothing.

Jason: I'll wait for your call.

Michael: Jason, do you and Daddy want to play with my new robot?

Jason: You know what? I'll come back later to play with you, okay? All right.

Sonny: So, did you and your buddy have a good time?

Michael: Bryan's mommy said he can't come here anymore.

Carly: You know, it was just a change of plans, and you know what? We went to the paint store instead, and I really could use your opinion on a couple of them. Want to see? Come on.

Sonny: I'll be right back.

Sonny: To hurt me, I'll hurt him back. If he comes after me again, I will send that boat to the bottom of the harbor with him in it.

Zander: Okay, look, I know a lot more about Sonny than I do about Jax, but I can work him over, too.

Alcazar: I'm not hiring you.

Zander: Wait a second. Then why did you tell me all this?

Alcazar: Do I strike you as someone who confides in strangers?

Zander: Okay. Look, you need somebody around town that can move around without drawing attention.

Alcazar: I don't take advice from people who trespass on my property.

Zander: I'm a lot more useful to you alive than I am dead.

Alcazar: You're a tie between my woman and a past I want her to forget. You have to be eliminated, just like all the other bad memories.

Zander: You're twisted.

Alcazar: No. I'm thorough. I'll do anything I have to to hold on to her.

Alan: Do you know how many times I've wanted to kill my father?

Monica: About as many as I have.

Alan: More. He's only been making you miserable for the last couple of decades. I've had to deal with him my entire life. And I don't mean to sentimentalize the old man. He is a vile, vindictive, greedy tyrant.

Monica: And you love him.

Alan: And I have no idea why. The only thing he has ever done for me is drive away my children -- except, of course, for the one that he sold. He tormented my wife, and he criticized me. And please don't say to me that that's the way he shows his love for me.

Monica: No, I think you're telling yourself that.

Alan: I'm not the son that he wanted, and he's not the father that I wanted. But I'm telling you, if he wakes up, we're not going to find some kind of common meeting ground and everything is going to be all peaches and cream. We're going to go right back to the way we were, and we will argue with each other, and we will blackmail each other, and that's exactly the way it's supposed to be. Now, isn't that absurd, Monica? But I want him back. I want him in this world. I want to be able to argue with him and blackmail him. And I want to be able to tell him to his face that I want to kill him.

Monica: Oh, sweetheart. Hey, you don't have to apologize for wanting to kill your father or for loving him. You know, that's a perfectly natural response to a man like Edward. But I wouldn't -- I wouldn't even start thinking about taking him off life-support right now. Edward may not be a very nice man, but he's an awful stubborn one. And I really don't think he has any intention of dying right now.

Skye: Grandfather had me primed to believe that you were just using me to get E.L.Q. He even had a list of the names of wives of C.E.O.s to contact, women who you'd seduced to get information on their husbands' companies. And then you lied about going to Australia when you really went to Paris, and suddenly Edward had this photograph of you with this woman and you were giving her a necklace. And I didn't know what to believe. I didn't want to believe -- but it was you in the picture. And -- well, I kept waiting for you to explain it to me, but you couldn't because you were trying to surprise me with my -- my beautiful gift. But to me it just seemed like you were supporting the lie, you know, covering up for an affair. And, well, Grandfather knew how insecure I was about love, and I chose to believe what any other woman would have -- that you were being unfaithful. That's when Grandfather offered me this deal. I don't know what I was thinking. I wasn't thinking straight. I was -- my heart was breaking into a million pieces. I was hurt and I was angry and I wanted you to hurt the way that I hurt, and then Grandfather was offering me this chance to wipe you out. And then came the topper. If I helped him bankrupt you, he'd make me sole heir.

Jax: And you -- and you put this in a written contract?

Skye: Yes.

Jax: You sell me out and Edward gives you his entire estate?

Skye: Jax, you lied to me, okay? I thought you were cheating on me, that you were saying you loved me and you were sleeping with somebody else, okay? Well, then when you came back and you explained to me who the woman was and you gave me the necklace, I realized that -- you know, what a mistake I made. Then you asked me to marry you? And then I realized that you meant it, that you really did love me, and I realized what a horrible mistake it was. And I tried to get out of the contract. I did. I begged Edward to rip it up, but he wouldn’t. He was determined to humiliate us both, to bankrupt you, and to destroy my happiness. I did. I begged him. I stalled him. I ran around town like a crazy woman, trying to get every copy of the contract that I could so you wouldn't find out. I even -- I even prayed that he would die so you wouldn't find out. Please, Jax, please. You have to believe me. I don't care about E.L.Q. I just -- I love you. You made me believe in your love. Please, please believe in mine. Wait -- Jax, wait. You just can't walk out. You have to tell me what you're thinking.

Jax: I'm thinking why I should believe a word that comes out of your mouth.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Scott: This is my investigation. I'll handle it my way.

Alexis: Evidence?

Michael: You wouldn't do anything bad, would you, Daddy?

Alcazar: Throw him overboard to drown. Make it look like an accident.

Jax: I fell in love with the woman I wanted you to be, not the woman you are.
