>> Previously on "General Hospital" --
Courtney: I can get by without any help from you.
Gia: It was awful.
Scott: Poor Rick. He died in a drunk-driving accident, but he barely drank.
Jax: I want everyone to see how happy we are.
Skye: Tear up that contract. I am begging you!
Edward: How could I say no?
Sonny: Tell me who's running it before it's too late.
Lucky: Hey, Dad, is that you? Oh! God!
Rick: Doesn't matter what you do to try to cover it up, Lucky. Your father killed me, and soon everyone will know.
Scott: Scott Baldwin. You sound like I woke you up.
Lucky: What do you want, Scott?
Scott: You and I need to talk about Rick's -- well, let's just call it an accident for now.
Courtney: A.J., what are you doing here?
A.J.: You ready?
Courtney: Did I forget something?
A.J.: Jax and Skye’s engagement party?
Courtney: Oh, I forgot. I can't go.
A.J.: Why not?
Courtney: Well, A, I have my other job, and, B, oh, your family's going to be there, and I thought we agreed it'd be best to just keep our distance.
A.J.: We did, we did, okay? You're right. But she's my sister. She's the only real family I've got. It's important to support her. God knows, she's done the same for me.
Courtney: I can understand that.
A.J.: I really want you with me, you know? I mean, if the family stuff starts flying, Grandfather starts in on me, I --
Courtney: Wait -- you're afraid you might drink?
A.J.: What can I do to convince you? I really want you with me.
Roy: You know, I was sort of taking the day off and I don't appreciate being summoned. My days of being one of Sonny's lackeys are over. That's a change you ought to consider making yourself, pal.
Jason: He wants a meeting at the penthouse.
Roy: What's it about?
Jason: It's important. That's all you need to know.
Roy: Oh. I'll tell you what -- I'll make myself available, but I'm not going to go to his penthouse any more than he can come to mine. You tell him, he wants to talk to me so bad, he can come and find me. I'll be at the -- at the Oasis.
Elizabeth: Here you go. That's it? We can't even say hello to each other?
Elizabeth: Jason, wait.
Jason: Elizabeth, you are getting too close.
Elizabeth: To what, exactly? Danger? Or you?
Jason: I have someplace to be. Do us both a favor. Do not end up there.
Zander: Oh --
Woman: Good, you're awake. I was afraid I might have hit you too hard.
Zander: You hit me?
Woman: The guards would have done worse.
Zander: Okay, look, because there's obviously some kind of misunderstanding, okay? Just let me talk to your boss and we can get all this cleared up.
Woman: That's impossible. You need to stay here quietly or you'll get discovered and killed.
Zander: Okay, no, look, see, I have information, okay?
Woman: Good. The woman I work for will be glad to hear it.
Carly: Ugh. Okay, enjoy. Enjoy. He has to pay. Hey, Sonny.
Sonny: Hey, what's up?
Carly: Nothing -- sitting here thinking about what we're going to do tonight. You have any thoughts?
Sonny: No, no, I haven't thought about it.
Sonny: What are you planning?
Alexis: This is for you.
Skye: Oh. Thank you. Thank you so much for coming.
Jax: Yeah, you know, we weren't -- we weren't exactly sure, so soon after Kristina.
Ned: Well, we think the best way to honor Kristina is to go on with our lives.
Alexis: I know that she would want me to be here, so she owes a lot to you and so do I.
Skye: You know, Jax and I were just talking about that -- how life goes on. That's what your baby's all about. You two are very lucky to have each other, but I'm sure you already know that. Oh -- I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?
Alexis and Ned: No.
Ned: Absolutely not.
Alexis: No. No.
Skye: Oh, if you'll excuse me.
Alan: Well, I have to say it. I have never seen you look more beautiful.
Skye: Oh. Well, I'm happy and terrified. Oh, did I mention "terrified"?
Alan: Well, terror is a natural reaction when you're going to get married.
Monica: Yes, and I wouldn't take it lightly if I were you. I was terrified the day I married Alan and I just tossed it off to pre-wedding jitters. Talk about not having proper respect for foreboding.
Alan: What exactly are you trying to say?
Monica: I'm saying be afraid. Be very afraid.
Skye: Oh, well, thank you for coming.
Alan: That is so nice of you, Monica, to spew all of that bitterness and cynicism on my daughter's engagement party.
Monica: I was just trying to be pleasant.
Alan: Well, try harder.
Skye: Did you bring the contract?
Edward: I certainly did. Mm-hmm.
Skye: Oh, my God. Grandfather, you cannot show that -- that document in public. If you do, my life will be finished!
Jax: Edward, what a surprise. Lila called. She said she was in bed with a cold. I assumed you'd stay home with her.
Edward: Oh, no, I -- I wouldn't miss this for the world.
Jax: You came bearing gifts.
Jax: That's very generous of you. Well, it doesn't tick. That's good news.
Skye: You know what? I'll just take that.
Jax: That's okay. I've got it.
Edward: No, let's put it here where it belongs, huh?
Jax: You enjoy yourself, Edward.
Edward: Thank you.
Skye: What kind of sick game are you playing?
Edward: You'll figure it out for yourself soon enough.
Skye: Grandfather, if Jax sees that document with my signature on the bottom in which I promise to betray him for the family fortune, I will lose everything that matters to me.
Edward: Well, then, my dear, it promises to be a very interesting evening, doesn't it, huh?
Zander: Okay. Look, look, look, I don't mean to sound sexist or anything, okay, but the things is I can be useful, all right, but only to the man in charge, not to some girlfriend, okay? I have important information on Sonny Corinthos.
Woman: Pay attention, Mr. Smith. It's important that you understand. He will take what you have to offer and kill you anyway.
Zander: Wait a second. How do you know my name?
Woman: I checked your wallet.
Zander: Okay. Okay, okay, okay, look. I will answer any questions anybody asks for a price.
Woman: I'll pass that along.
Zander: Wait a second. Does the woman you work for, does she have a name?
Woman: Yes, she does.
Carly: I realize it was childish and borderline regressive, but you know what? I have a right to my feelings.
Carly: God, that jerk, Jax, he took my club and he gave it to that skanky, conniving Quartermaine tramp. You know, I should just sue him.
Sonny: No, no, no, no, no. Come here, come here, come here, come here.
Sonny: That's too much trouble. I'll just buy you a new club.
Carly: It's very nice of you, Sonny, and I know you would, but it's not the point. You know what? That was my club. I put my heart and my soul into it and it was mine.
Sonny: Yeah, but now it's theirs. Business is business. Sometimes you can't keep what you want.
Carly: Ugh, I hate it when you're logical.
Sonny: Hey, can you stop fussing and -- kiss me?
Carly: Why don't you just take me somewhere and distract me?
Sonny: All right, but I got -- I got a meeting first.
Carly: Things getting worse?
Sonny: No, stalled, but it's nothing for you to worry about, because I've added security, and you and Michael are going to be fine.
[Knock on door]
Carly: Hmm. Hey, Jason.
Carly: All right, I'm going to go. I'll change into something so fabulous. No Name sound good?
Sonny: Whatever you like.
Carly: Yeah, that's good. See you, Jason.
Sonny: No Roy?
Jason: He insisted on a neutral site. Want to guess where?
Sonny: The Oasis.
Jason: I could always bring him back here whether he likes it or not.
Sonny: No, I'm going to play it his way this time. I got a feeling after tonight, Roy’s going to be a lot more cooperative.
A.J.: You sure I can't change your mind?
Courtney: Hey, if I thought that you honestly couldn't get through tonight without me, I would bail on my job in a second. You'll be fine.
A.J.: All right. I'll do the party thing; you go to work, okay? At least let me walk you to the bus. Oh.
Nikolas: Oh, you know what? I never liked Scott Baldwin that much, and now that he's acting D.A., he just gave new meaning to the term "insufferable."
Nikolas: What's up?
Lucky: Thanks for giving me the heads up about Baldwin.
Nikolas: It's fine, man. You know what? It's a united front and all.
Gia: Well, I know why he included me. I mean, I covered brilliantly at the scene of Rick's accident. You don't think they could suspect me of anything, do you?
Lucky: Not as long as we keep our cool and we don't let Baldwin trip us up.
Nikolas: He's got a point. Let's go.
Scott: Well. Glad you guys could join me. Elizabeth, can we get a pot of coffee over here? I thought this would be a little more relaxed than dragging you guys down to the police station.
Nikolas: Scott, let me ask you something. Are you actually accusing us of something?
Scott: It just depends on how you answer a few questions.
Jax: Skye, I need you. May I have everyone's attention, please? I want to make a toast to the woman I'm going to marry. It's been one hell of a ride, this journey you and I have taken. I can't say I've loved every moment, but I can say without any reservation that I love where it's taken us. You changed my life, Skye. I didn't think that I was able to love again. I didn't really want to try. But you changed that. You made me stand up and take notice. But here we are, about to embark on the most important journey of our lives, as husband and wife. And I say to you, in front of all these witnesses, that I've been humbled by the gift of your trust, and I intend to spend the rest of my life living up to that.
Jax: To my future wife.
Alan: Hear, hear.
Ned: Hear, hear.
Alexis: Hear, hear.
Jax: I love you. I always will.
Jax: Well, folks, you can consider the buffet officially open.
Edward: Oh, oh, oh, not so fast. Skye, isn't there something that you need to say to this man that you love, hmm?
Scott: If it would make you feel better to have a lawyer present before we go any further, I won't hold it against you.
Nikolas: Why would we need lawyers?
Scott: I don't know. Some people insist on the little devils.
Lucky: Not us. We don't got anything to hide.
Scott: Oh -- you know, I love it when people say that. Okay. Let's see what we know. Luke and Laura disappear the night before their wedding. So does Rick Webber. Luke makes no bones about how he feels about Rick. The night that Rick is supposed to take over the hospital, he's found dead. What we don't know is why a guy that doesn't drink that much ends up in a drunk-driving accident with a bottle of vodka. Now let's talk about coincidences. Gia, you just happened to pop up on a stretch of highway deserted out there and offer us an eyewitness report of the accident. And, Lucky, you have got a scratch on your head that looks like you were in a car accident. So, as acting D.A., what do you think I should think about all of this?
Lucky: Well, I believe you said it best, Scott -- unanswered questions and coincidences.
Scott: Is that your explanation, too?
Gia: What else?
Scott: I got ways to find things out.
Gia: What are you doing?
Scott: Take a little fingerprint test.
Lucky: No, no, no, I don't think so. You can't do that.
Scott: Why not?
Nikolas: Not without a warrant you can't, Scott.
Scott: Warrant --
Nikolas: Yeah, that's right, a warrant.
Scott: Oh, right. Pesky little warrant. You know what? I'm going to have to run down to the office and get one, and then I'll be back. Coffee's on me.
Woman: Your instincts are right. I think this guy can help you. I'll find out everything I can.
Jax: I'm not sure what I'm hearing in your voice, Edward, but I don't like it. If my engagement to Skye seems to you like an opportunity to mock her, I'd rather you leave now.
Edward: Oh, oh, how protective.
Jax: Good night, Edward.
Skye: No, Jax -- it's okay. Grandfather's right. I do have something to say to you, and I would like him to hear every word. In fact, I want everyone to hear what I have to say. Jax, you said that we made quite a journey together. Well, I say that I was the one who had the furthest to go. You see, I couldn't find my heart. It was buried under all those layers of mistrust and deception, I hadn't even felt it for so long. And then suddenly, you were there. Strong and true and clear enough to see right through me, right down to my very core. And then the most amazing thing happened. You accepted me. Me, Skye, with all my stupid walls and defenses, the queen of self-destruction. You came into my life and restarted my heart. I feel every beat now. And I love you more than I thought it was ever possible to love. I am done with the games and the fear and the mad dash for money and power. I know now that they are only diversions to keep you busy from the last time you see the person you love to the next. And you are that person for me, Jax. Forever and always.
Skye: To love. It really does exist.
A.J.: Hear, hear.
Skye: Oh -- A.J. You came.
A.J.: Absolutely. Congratulations.
Skye: Oh. Hey.
Skye: I just -- I know that it's really hard for you to walk into a room like this.
A.J.: Oh, come on. These people can't hurt me anymore. Besides, I have my priorities in line now, you know, and it's more important for me to be here for you than to stay away for me.
Skye: Oh, boy. If I don't get to a powder room right now, I'm going to ruin my makeup, okay?
A.J.: Okay. All right.
Skye: Excuse me.
Edward: A.J., I -- I don't see your child bride anywhere. What did you do? Did you send her out to check our car seats for loose change?
A.J.: No, she decided to express both of our feelings about this family by staying away.
Jax: So, Edward, did you hear what Skye and I said to each other?
Edward: Yes, I heard.
Jax: Do you now believe that we are truly in love? That I have no intention of going after your precious empire by using her?
Edward: Well, if that's true, then I stand duly corrected.
Jax: Well, it doesn't mean that I don't plan to acquire it. I just don't intend to use her.
Edward: Good luck to you, Jax, because after you're married, you're going to need all the luck you can get.
Jax: Skye? What's going on? And why is Edward’s gift so important?
Woman: My employer has agreed to hear your information. She's given me a list of questions to ask.
Zander: That's fine. But like I said, my information comes with a price tag.
Woman: I understand. Answers in exchange for your life. I need you to tell me everything you know about Sonny Corinthos.
Coleman: Hey, hey. How's it going, baby? Come on.
Man: Yeah. Whoa.
[Cheers and whistles]
Roy: I hear you have something to say.
Sonny: It's more like show-and-tell, actually.
Roy: Let's have a seat.
Sonny: What is your attachment to this place, Roy?
Roy: It amuses me to see you here, Sonny. Of course, it's harder for accidents to happen in public places.
Sonny: I've been giving a lot of thought to the nature of accidents. You know, the way they just come out of nowhere, happen to anybody. Take this guy, for instance, right here.
Roy: Well, let me guess. This guy's gun accidentally went off six times while he was cleaning it.
Sonny: Accidental drowning. And this guy right here, somehow he managed to run over himself. All right? And then this guy right here -- he slipped with his razor.
Roy: And your point would be?
Sonny: I do my homework. Roy, these are previous business associates of your new boss he has backed in the past. Silent partners. And Mr. Alcazar is making damn sure they stay that way. And I got names, I've got dates if you want to check it out. But you're going to find out I'm telling the truth.
Roy: What's the deal with that? I mean, you're obviously not here to cover my back. What do you want?
Man: This will take just a moment.
Second man: You are not authorized to be here.
Elizabeth: All right, how many times do I have to tell you -- I am friends with the guy --
Man: We are leaving now.
Carly: What is all the noise?
Man: We found this young lady loitering where Mr. Morgan usually parks his bike. She claims to be a close friend.
Second man: We tried to check on her story, but Mr. Morgan isn't home.
Carly: Hmm. Okay. I can vouch for the little missy. Thank you, guys.
Carly: Jason had to go somewhere, but you're more than welcome to wait for him here.
Elizabeth: Thank you.
Carly: Sure. You know, stalking Jason these days?
Elizabeth: Oh, you must be having one of your little memory lapses, because I'm not that pathetic.
Carly: Oh, yet here you stand, and Jason's keeping you at a distance, and you can't stand it, right? You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to share a little tidbit of information with you, not because I care whether you get with Jason, but for some ungodly reason, he likes you, and I want him to be happy.
Elizabeth: Go ahead, Carly. You can say whatever you want. Doesn't mean I have to listen.
Carly: That's fair enough. Okay, but if you are going to insist on being the little gangster's woman, you really need to learn some rules. First of all, when the guy in question tells you to do something, you do it, especially if it's dangerous and he tells you to keep your nose out of his business because if you don't, it's only going to complicate things.
Elizabeth: Hey, well, Jason didn't tell me to do anything. I just came by to see him.
Carly: Oh. Well, Jason's going to see you when he wants to. You push him too far, and he's going to cut you off. It's going to feel like you got whiplash. Oh -- or maybe you already think that that's happened.
Elizabeth: Thank you, but I really don't need your advice. Jason and I are doing just fine without it.
Carly: God, you are so green. I give you a month.
Carly: Until you get yourself or Jason killed.
Zander: I was high up on Sonny's ladder. I worked pretty closely with him. I did everything for him. Anything he asked, and then some. And then one day, boom, he cut me off, no warnings, no considerations. So the thing is I have a score to settle. Now, I know his shipping schedules. I know the names of key people in his organizations.
Woman: What about his wife?
Zander: Carly? What about her?
Woman: Describe her to me. What's their relationship like?
Zander: Sonny and Carly have this weird relationship. I mean, they're always mad at each other. They -- they're constantly fighting. They break up, they get back together, they break up, and then, you know, they always get back. They're in each other's blood.
Woman: Tell me more about this Carly.
Zander: She's a whack job. One scheme after another, and it -- she's always thinking ahead about Carly or Sonny or how he pertains to her at any given moment.
Woman: She sounds selfish.
Zander: Well, she is, but that's not the whole thing with Carly. I mean, she's -- she's really a good person underneath. She's just -- well, she's got a lot of love to give, but don't think for one second that it's for anybody but Sonny Corinthos. But wait, wait a second. How is any of this going to help anybody?
Woman: Why do you think Sonny always takes her back?
Zander: He loves her.
Woman: Maybe. That doesn't mean that he's the love of her life. Men can love women in different ways over a course of a lifetime.
Zander: Yeah, whatever. I'm just giving you my read.
Woman: All right. Let's move on.
Zander: That's all I know.
Woman: Oh, we're not finished. Tell me about Jasper Jacks.
Zander: Okay -- why does he matter?
Skye: Oh -- I just -- I wanted to open it and make sure we weren't going to be embarrassed in case Edward gave us something, you know, horrible.
Jax: You know what? Edward is upsetting you, so I'm going to ask him to leave and get rid of this, as well.
Skye: No, no, no, no, Jax. It's -- it's okay, really. I don't want to make a scene tonight. Just --
Skye: Just hold me, okay?
Monica: How are you doing?
A.J.: Better all the time, Mother.
Monica: Good, good. And I know that I should say this more often, but I am very proud of you. I'm proud of your job and -- staying sober.
A.J.: Thanks. It's all due to my wife. It's amazing what can happen to a person if he gets honest, loving support, when he trusts, and more importantly, is trusted in return. I didn't realize what I found in Courtney was even possible.
Alan: I'm really happy for you, son.
A.J.: You sound like you mean it.
Alan: I do.
A.J.: Excuse me.
Edward: Are you looking for this?
Skye: Okay. Look, you've had your fun. Now you give me that contract like we agreed so I can destroy it.
Edward: You know, my dear, we have certainly had our share of agreements, haven't we? And our share of disagreements, too. In fact, I don't seem to remember that your getting to keep Jax was a part of this particular deal.
Skye: What are you saying? That you're going to keep the contract now?
Edward: No. No, I'm going to give it to Jax.
Nikolas: You guys, I'm serious about this. Hey, listen to me. Do you think our prints can be identified on that burnt car?
Gia: Look, that's it. We are going to get blamed for murder.
Nikolas: We just need to calm down and we need to play it safe.
Gia: Don't tell me that. I am tired of staying calm and hiding things and I will not do it anymore. I'm going to Marcus and I'm going to tell him everything before Scott Baldwin throws us in prison.
Nikolas: No, Gia --
Lucky: Hey, hey, hey.
Nikolas: We got to do something, man. We got to do something.
Lucky: We got to stop her. Come on.
Nikolas: Come on. Go, go.
Scott: Hello? Scott Baldwin. Hey, Phil. Yeah, listen, thanks for dropping everything and running those tests for me. Yeah. So, you got the results? Perfect.
Skye: You cannot give Jax that contract! It will ruin everything for me!
Edward: You know, you surprise me, Skye. You don't play this game nearly as well as one might think.
Skye: You bastard. You never intended to give me that contract back -- or make me sole heir, did you?
Edward: Never. I was just biding my time, waiting until I got you right where I wanted you, where I could impose maximum damage.
Skye: My God, I'm your granddaughter! Your flesh and blood. You really want to destroy me so completely?
Edward: The same way that you would destroy me if you had the brains. Now, you and Jax need to take some lessons from someone about going up against me, lady, and the first and most important one being that you can't win. You can never win.
Skye: A.J. was right to walk out on you. You are dead inside.
Edward: I may be, but I sure as hell can add some life to this party.
Skye: Over my dead body!
Woman: Tell me about Skye and Jax.
Zander: Okay. Skye is a trip. She's selfish, she's unpredictable. She almost got me and the woman that I love killed. I wouldn't trust her around the corner.
Woman: And this woman is engaged to Jax?
Zander: I don't know. Who cares?
Woman: The woman I work for.
Zander: Okay, why? Why? Why does this lady want to know so much about Jax and Sonny's personal lives?
Sonny: It doesn't make any sense, Roy. Alcazar uses you to bring me down, then Jax. He's an arms dealer. There's no connection. Is there?
Roy: Your guess is as good as mine.
Announcer: Okay, gents, it's star time. The lady you've all been waiting for. Pick of the Oasis -- Daisy.
Sonny: This is not a guess. Alcazar is trying to make this personal, and I want to know why.
[Cheers and whistles]
Man: All right! Yeah! Yeah!
Second man: Whoa!
[Music is turned up]
Lucky: How's Gia?
Nikolas: She'd chilled out by the time I got her to the car. I made sure that one of my drivers is going to take her back to Wyndemere.
Lucky: And you don't think she's going to be spilling her guts to her brother, do you?
Nikolas: No, no, no, no. I think we dodged that bullet, at least for tonight. Listen. Listen to me. I was thinking about something -- should we go to Alexis?
Lucky: Oh, man, I don't --
Nikolas: Lucky, think about it, think about this. Come on, come on.
Scott: Well, I'm glad you two are still here. I just got the report back from forensics. It's an interesting science because it can get people in trouble, get them out of trouble. In your case and Gia's, you got lucky. You didn't. Now I need a motive. Was it an accident? Tell me why you killed Rick Webber.
Woman: It seems Sonny is in a volatile but loving marriage with this Carly. Jax is involved with a strong woman, as well, and they're about to be married.
Skye: You are not going to do this to me and Jax! He is a good man.
Edward: You don't deserve Jax any more than you deserve to be a Quartermaine!
Skye: No, give it!
Edward: Not a chance! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Skye: Oh, God, please. I'm not falling for that phony heart attack routine. Now give me --
Edward: I don't -- I don't know what's happening.
Skye: Please, look, give me that!
Jax: Edward? Skye! What the hell is going on here?
Elizabeth: All right, Carly, you know what? I have definitely heard enough.
Carly: Well, you're going to find out what I said is true. But at least you've already been shot and kidnapped, so you're not totally unprepared, and the good news in all this is that you still get Jason -- that is if he still wants you. But you know what? You better decide if you want the whole package because there is no separating the two.
Elizabeth: You know what? Save it for someone naive enough to listen to you.
Carly: Well, don't say I never tried to help you.
Jason: What the hell you think you're doing messing with my life?
Sonny: There's something you know you're not saying, Roy. Why don't you just tell me?
Roy: I'll tell you this much. It is personal with Alcazar. It's about as personal as it gets.
Sonny: Can you be more specific?
Roy: I don't do freebies anymore. You want information, it's going to cost you -- building permits, union cooperation, that kind of thing. I'll put together a list.
Sonny: You don't get it, Roy. I'm not asking you for a favor. I'm giving you a chance to survive.
Roy: I'll be in touch. Enjoy the show.
[Cheers and whistles]
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Lucky: Why would I kill Rick Webber?
Scott: Why don't you tell me?
Jason: Will you promise to stay out of my life?
Monica: Skye, what did you say to him?
Skye: Nothing. He's fine.
Coleman: Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny: Tell me how this happened.
