Courtney: A.J. would feel terrible if he knew I was working here. He doesn't know anything about this and he canít.
Man: Roy DiLucca.
Roy: It's about time.
Rick: It is over. It's done.
Bobbie: Sonny's about to get arrested for kidnapping my daughter.
Sonny: I don't love Alexis. I'm here with you now because I chose to be.
Jax: Marry me.
Luke: Oh, perfect timing.
Bobbie: Hey, what are you doing? Luke, you can't just stroll in here and start using hospital property.
Luke: Well, no, but you can, and that's why it's perfect timing that you came right along. Look, I need to find out something about a woman who used to work here -- red hair, late 20s/early 30s, a real good-looking gal who just suddenly departed in the summer of 1978.
Bobbie: Is this more about the things that Laura has been remembering from the attic?
Luke: Yeah. This woman is a key to it all.
Bobbie: You're worried.
Luke: Something happened in that attic, Barbara. Whatever it is, it won't let Laura go.
Bobbie: Okay. Is there anything else you can tell me about her?
Luke: She was hitting the sheets with Dr. Rick Webber.
Rick: You all right, sweetheart? You look like you've seen a ghost. Just -- just relax.
Rick: Don't be afraid of me, honey.
Luke: Is there a problem here?
Jax: Again, I've taken you by surprise. That's not an easy task, by the way.
Skye: Just when I think I had you all figured out.
Jax: Where's the fun in that?
Skye: Jax, are you serious? This -- this isn't your idea of some incredibly unfunny joke?
Jax: This isn't a question I throw around lightly, Skye. I love you. I want us to spend the rest of our lives together. I am asking you to marry me. And if it takes you longer than five seconds to decide -- four, three, two, one --
Courtney: Wynona. What are you doing here?
Wynona: Well, I was just running an errand in the neighborhood and I thought I'd stop in and check out Daisy's day job.
Courtney: Don't call me that here, okay?
Wynona: Oh. Sorry. Well, I thought maybe you'd want a ride to the club.
Courtney: Oh, yeah, I would love that. I hate taking the bus so late.
Courtney: A.J. Hi.
A.J.: Aren't you going to introduce us?
Roy: Let's start with your name.
Man: Luis Ramon Alcazar.
Roy: Been looking forward to meeting you, Mr. Alcazar. It's not every day that one stranger leaves another a million in cash, no apparent strings attached. But since we both know that's not the case, why don't we do each other the courtesy of keeping this short and sweet. You meant to buy me with that money. The question is, what do you expect in return?
Carly: You really mean that? You'd actually -- you'd stay with me even if Alexis' baby was yours?
Sonny: We've come close to losing each other enough times. I -- I realize we're no good apart.
Carly: Well, I'm about to do something that I swore that I never would do. Because you're standing there with your heart in your hand and you're coming at me with nothing but the truth. I want to be worthy of this moment, Sonny. Can we sit?
Carly: Sonny, I knew.
Carly: I knew that Alexis was pregnant long before you ever did. I knew and I kept it from you.
Carly: You remember when I was at Mercy Hospital and you found me with a chart on my lap? It was hers. Alexis ended up at Mercy like I did with the same doctor and I overheard she was pregnant, and I thought it was in my best interest to get a copy of her chart and to look in it. I mean, after all, I'd walked in on you guys and it wasn't so far-fetched that you could be the father. But when I opened her chart, the name for the father was left blank, and you know what, it scared me even more because I was convinced that it had to be you then. So I did everything that I could to get rid of Alexis. I took the money from the club to bribe Alexis' law firm in Manhattan to hire her back.
Sonny: Oh, wow. You lied to me?
Sonny: You slept in my bed, wearing my wedding band, and lied to my face?
Carly: Yeah, that's right.
Sonny: You stood and looked in my eyes as we renewed our vows, knowing you were lying, knowing damn well that the bottom was going to drop out because not one promise you made, not one word that came out of your mouth was the truth.
Carly: You want to know what the truth is? The truth is that I love you and I can't stop it. And believe me, I have tried. So I lie, Sonny. I lie so I can stay with you. I lie to protect myself. I lie because I am so afraid that I am going to lose you. And you know what, I end up losing you anyway.
Sonny: Don't sit -- don't sit there and tell me that you're afraid and that's why you did it. I -- I cut myself for you. I bled to prove to you that you can trust me. I have forgiven -- forgiven things that I never thought I would forgive anybody, and how do you repay my faith? By lying to me?
Carly: Yeah, you know what? Sonny, you're right. I'm a horrible person. I'm a horrible individual.
Sonny: I'm not saying you're a horrible person.
Carly: You know what, you should just -- you should get down on your knees --
Sonny: I'm not saying --
Carly: And you should thank God that you don't have to deal with me anymore.
Sonny: Let me talk!
Sonny: I thought you were dead, that you were taken from me, like everybody else who I've ever loved. And then you came back to me and I said to myself that I would never lose you again, that I wouldn't waste my time punishing you. I learned what you mean to me, that I would do anything in the world for you. But not this. I will not have my wife lie to me. I gave you my name, my heart, my honor, and I expect the same in return. If you cannot give me that, if you cannot look -- if you can't look at your husband in the eye and promise the truth, you won. I let you go.
A.J.: Wynona -- hmm. I don't remember Courtney ever mentioning you. I certainly would've remembered.
Courtney: Wynona's a security guard.
Courtney: Well, I know you're in a hurry, so thanks for stopping by.
Wynona: Yeah, it was good to meet you, A.J.
Courtney: Okay, I've got to go.
A.J.: If you don't mind, I'd -- I'd really like to get your take on -- on working at a bank.
Rick: I was walking by, she looked ill. I -- I wanted to see if I could help her.
Luke: Are you ill?
Laura: No. No. I was thinking of something and you just startled me, that's all.
Rick: Sweetheart, I know that my just being here in town has brought up a lot of bad memories, and I'm -- I'm sorry about that.
Laura: Don't be silly. It's not your fault.
Rick: Good. But I got an idea. Want to hear it?
Laura: Yeah, sure.
Rick: Your wedding is not even a week away now. Why don't you start focusing on what's going to happen this week, start building new memories and just get rid of everything that's in the past?
Luke: That should work great for some of us.
Rick: Okay. Either one of you need anything, please let me know, sweetheart. Okay?
Bobbie: Hey. You look like you could use this.
Laura: Thank you, Bobbie.
Luke: Did you come up with anything over there?
Bobbie: Luke, I'm sorry, but, you know, you haven't really given me very much to go on.
Luke: Hmm. Oh. Well, I got this. I should've showed you this earlier. What about that? You know her?
Bobbie: You know what? I'm not sure. Let me check on something. I'll be right back.
Luke: What really went down over here, baby?
Laura: I had another memory. This time it was Rick coming at me with a syringe. He was -- he was going to inject me with something.
Luke: Oh, my God.
Luke: Why don't I just go beat the information out of him? We'll get it a lot faster than you having to put this together one piece at a time. This is too painful.
Bobbie: I was right. Her name is Theresa Carter, and she was a nurse here in the 1970s and she did have a thing with Rick. As a matter of fact, everybody was talking about it, especially Theresa.
Laura: Well, is there anything else you can tell us about her?
Bobbie: I remember her as being very moody and unpredictable and temperamental, and then overnight she just quit and that was the last anybody ever heard of her.
Laura: Oh! Oh, I'm sorry.
Luke: It's okay.
Laura: I was in the attic and I was hiding and I was really afraid. But I don't know why. I know it was really dark and it was still raining.
Luke: Is it that same night?
Laura: I think so, but later.
Luke: What did you see?
Laura: I don't know. I -- I don't know why I'm so alone and I'm so scared. I heard something in the yard and then I got up and I went to the window and I looked out and I -- I saw them.
Laura: I don't know.
Luke: Rick and Theresa? Scott? Lesley?
Laura: I don't know. I can't tell. It's just raining too hard. I can't remember. Damn it. I want to -- I want to get out of here.
Bobbie: All right. Luke, call me if you need anything.
Laura: Yeah, we will.
Luke: And keep your eyes and ears open.
Bobbie: Oh, you can count on that.
Luke: Thanks. Come on, angel, I'll take you home.
Laura: No, I don't want to go home. Let me make a stop first.
Luis: I don't see what I've done as buying you, per se.
Roy: What would you call it, per se?
Luis: I found it suits me to have influential businessmen as friends in key places. If one isn't available, I create him.
Roy: If you're thinking of me as your creation, you're in for a rude awakening, I'm afraid.
Luis: You're awfully prickly for a man who's been given over a million dollars.
Roy: I still haven't heard what I'm expected to do for it.
Luis: Right now, invest it. Make it grow. I'll remain in the background as a silent partner, and you can enjoy your half of the profits with your beautiful friend. Felicia, is it?
Roy: How does Sonny Corinthos fit in?
Luis: Only know the man by reputation. We've never met.
Roy: See, now, I didn't ask you that. You had me buy a pier in Mr. Corinthos' name, a pier he obviously covets, a place he needs to centralize and control his waterfront operations. Makes a person wonder. Some kind of history going on here? You have some kind of grudge against Sonny I should know about?
Luis: No more or less than I would have against any man who stood between me and something I want.
Carly: You know that a lie doesn't mean the same thing to me as it means to you, Sonny. You would die before you broke your word. Well, you know what, I'm not that way. I'm not because if I had to choose between the truth or your life, or the truth or our marriage, you know, I'm going to pick a lie any single day of the week. You know what, all our promises -- promises get broken all the time. Fine, Sonny. You want honesty, I'll give you honesty, okay? I am not going to promise that I'm never going to lie to you again. But I give you my heart and you get to choose whether it's good enough.
Sonny: I'm not going to spend the rest of my life doubting you.
Carly: Then don't, Sonny. Donít. Why do you keep coming back to me? Why? If I'm such a liar and a betrayer, then why don't you just let me go?
Sonny: I don't know! You know, I don't know. Every time I want to leave, you do something that makes me want to -- makes me want to be with you, all right? You do the wrong things for the right reasons, you stand up when it matters, and you fight like hell for the people you love.
Carly: I love you, Sonny.
Sonny: Well you --
Carly: Sonny, I just can't continue doing this. I can't continue trying to prove that I'm worthy of your love. Either I am and you accept me for who I am or just let me go and walk away!
Sonny: I just can't, you know -- I don't know. I don't know what to say.
Sonny: Okay, I'll tell you what -- I just want to get clear on this, all right? You say you love me, right, so you reserve the right to just go ahead and lie to me whenever you want --
Sonny: Whenever you think it's necessary?
Sonny: Then what?
Carly: I am just saying that I want to -- I want to be loved the way that I love you.
Sonny: And how is that? How is it? How do you want me to love you?
Carly: You know what, Sonny? I don't ask you to change, do I? I don't ask you to stop being -- to stop being a control freak or stop being, you know, so emotionally closed to me, do I? I accept you for who you are. And that's a hell of a lot more than you can say for a lot of those other people who fall in love with your charm and your dimples, and then they run screaming from you as soon as they find out who you are. I know who you are and I stay anyway. Because I love you, Sonny. All I'm asking for is for you to love me the same way, good or bad.
Sonny: The truth beyond the lies?
Carly: Yeah. Can you do it? Can you? Can you please just trust that even when I screw up, I still love you? I do.
Sonny: I know, but, you know, the -- damn. I guess I want to -- you know, I guess I can trust you, you know, because you're -- you're part of me, right?
Carly: Okay. Okay.
Sonny: "Okay," what?
Carly: Okay, you win. I want to be your wife, and I want to spend the rest of our lives together.
Sonny: All right. I guess -- I guess we can do that. I guess, you know, we still got about 20 hours left here if you want to go for a swim, maybe go gambling. Maybe we could make love in our bedroom.
Carly: I want to do the last thing.
Sonny: Or we can go back to Port Charles.
Carly: You have work?
Carly: So it probably wasn't the best idea for you to take me out to a tropical island, huh?
Carly: But you did it anyway.
Sonny: Marriage is a priority.
Carly: For me, too. Come on. Mr. Corinthos, let's just go home.
Skye: It's probably best if you keep this.
Jax: I have no use for it. It's your necklace. Am I allowed to ask why you're turning down my proposal?
Skye: How far are you willing to take this?
Jax: Look, I'm sorry if this is too sudden. I -- I apologize. But I thought you understood that I was serious about you.
Skye: I can't marry a liar, okay?
Jax: Now, where in the world did that come from?
Skye: Oh, God, you're good. Look at that face -- so surprised, so wounded. Well, you lied to me, Jax, all right? That so-called Australian business trip? Well, I know for a fact that you were in Paris with some hootchie who was wearing the same necklace that you're trying to palm off on me right now! What's the matter? She didn't like it? Huh? Or is it not the same as her wearing it without you in her bed?
Jax: Skye, stop.
Skye: No, don't tell me to stop! And don't you dare try to deny it because I called your hotel room in Paris and that bimbo answered the phone, all right? And since you've been back, you haven't even come this close to telling me the truth and I've given you every opportunity.
Jax: Skye, the woman is Celine Dubois. She's a jewelry broker and an old family friend.
Skye: Well, I don't understand.
Jax: No, obviously, you don't, which is why you should've asked. Look, I didn't tell you I was going to Paris because I wanted the necklace to be a surprise. You flipped over it in that auction catalog, and I knew that you would remember the date, and if you knew that I was in Paris, you would've -- you would've known what I was up to.
Skye: Yeah, but you came back and you still didn't give it to me.
Jax: I was waiting for the right moment, and there was a flaw in one of the diamonds. Celine had to have it replaced. What, you don't believe me? Then call my mother. You trust her.
Skye: My God, Jax, I -- I don't know what to say.
Jax: I could've cleared this up a long time ago if you would've told me what you thought you knew. But, no, no, you would rather try to catch me in a lie.
Skye: Jax, I am so sorry. Oh, God, I've been such an idiot. Why -- why did I ever listen to Edward?
Jax: Edward? What does he have to do with this?
A.J.: Security guard? Hmm. Odd job for a woman, don't you think? I mean, no offense, but you don't exactly scare me.
Wynona: Oh, well, now, that's not very politically correct, is it? I mean, women are perfectly capable of defending themselves. Didn't you see "La Femme Nikita"?
Courtney: Hey. I'm all done, so we can go home.
Wynona: Great. Well, again, really good to meet you, A.J., and I'll see you tonight?
Courtney: Sure thing.
Courtney: Well, you two seemed to hit it off.
A.J.: Yeah, well, you know, I just -- I worry about you, sweetheart, you know, working after-hours in a deserted bank. I just want to make sure you're safe.
Courtney: Well, I hope Wynona reassured you.
A.J.: Not entirely. That's why I was thinking maybe we -- I should just ride the bus back and forth with you -- you know, make sure you get there safe, bring you home with me. You know?
Courtney: Yeah, that's really sweet, A.J., but it's completely unnecessary. I mean, not to mention a total waste of bus fare, you know. Wynona keeps a special eye out for me. I'm really fine.
A.J.: You know what; she may keep a special eye out for you, but not at a bank, Courtney. She doesn't work at a bank and neither do you.
A.J.: Before you say anything -- I called the bank the other night. They -- they never heard of you, Courtney.
Courtney: All right. You caught me. Sit down.
Courtney: I didn't want you to know because I was ashamed. Okay, I'm not a data processor. I'm a cleaning woman, A.J. I -- I scrub floors and I empty garbage cans and I'm not listed as a bank employee because, well, the cleaning service -- it's an independent contractor.
A.J.: So all this time, that's -- I wish you would've told me.
Courtney: Well, I couldnít. I mean, I knew that you'd want me to quit.
A.J.: You're right about that.
Courtney: Look, A.J., this isn't my first choice, either. I mean, look at you. You should be running a company, not a forklift. But we are doing what we have to. And you know what, my job -- it's hard enough without having to argue about it or defend it. And anyway, I'm going to miss my bus right now and if I'm late, I'll be docked.
A.J.: I'm sorry if I upset you. It's just the thought of you, of all people, lying to me about anything -- it freaked me out, that's all. Okay?
Courtney: Look, I'm really sorry. Okay? I just -- I'd do a lot more than clean a few dirty floors to ensure our future.
A.J.: I love you, too.
Courtney: I'll see you at home.
Scott: Hey, Bobbie. Are you off Lukeís time clock?
Bobbie: Yeah, I am.
Scott: What's the matter? You look a little funny. Are you worried about something or someone?
Bobbie: Actually, I am. You know me very well. I'm a little worried about Laura. She's been upset over all of this weird business with the attic.
Scott: Did something else happen?
Bobbie: Well, yeah. Well, you know, Luke asked me to help him track down this nurse that used to work here. Actually, she was an old lover of Rickís and, well, I didn't have much luck until they showed me this sketch of her and then I actually remembered who she was.
Bobbie: Theresa Carter.
Scott: Did that name mean something to Laura?
Bobbie: Well, yeah. It kind of jogged her memory in another direction because all of a sudden she remembered she was at a window and she saw these two people standing out in the rain in a back yard, but she couldn't make out who they were. And for some reason, it was very upsetting to her.
Scott: Oh, I got to cancel dinner tonight. I'm sorry.
Scott: Yeah. Uh -- you know, I should've called you ahead of time, but I'll use any excuse just to see you.
Bobbie: You're very charming. Why? What happened?
Scott: Well, you know, being back in the D.A.'s office, I forgot what it's like. You know, you're always jumping there.
Bobbie: Yeah, well, that's a good thing. And I can make the adjustment if you can. And I'll let you make it up to me. Besides, I have a lot of I have to do here anyway, so --
Rick: Scott, we got problems.
Scott: Yeah. Yeah, we do, and we got to make it go away.
Luke: Are you sure about this, honey? Your memories didn't seem to come back when you were inside the attic.
Laura: I just need five minutes, that's all. There's something that's floating right on the edge of my memory and I want to see if it'll come back.
Skye: Grandfather never lets up, you know? He's -- he's always on me constantly, always going on and on about your big rep as a ladies' man and how the only way you'll close a deal is in a vulnerable woman's bed. He says that it's a pattern and that I'm just next in your long list of conquests.
Jax: You know, Edward tries to undermine my faith in you, too. But I choose not to let him. So why would you? You know perfectly well that he's always working an agenda.
Skye: You say that with such confidence. See, that's the difference between us, Jax. You're so sure of yourself. You never doubt your instincts. Me, I'm always so busy trying to protect myself that I never have anything left over to learn how to trust -- you know, I mean, to really trust. And I want to do that. I really do. I want to do that more than anything in the world, is to trust you, Jax.
Jax: Skye, listen to me. Listen to me because I'm going to tell you this one last time -- why you are the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time.
Luis: I've done some research on my own and Mr. Corinthos isn't the only powerful man in town. There's Jasper Jacks and Edward Quartermaine.
Roy: But you chose to stick your finger in the middle of Sonny's pie, and you used me to do it. Why do you need a front man?
Luis: Let's just say I have legal difficulties in this country. I needed someone with the right profile to work on my behalf.
Roy: And that profile would be?
Luis: A strong, proud man with guts and determination, someone hungry whose full potential hasn't been realized or appreciated. Perhaps someone with an ax of their own to grind against the good citizens of this town, including Mr. Corinthos.
Roy: How do I get in touch?
Luis: You donít. I'll find you.
Roy: Oh, my God. Please tell me you haven't been here this whole time listening to us.
Felicia: I did better than that. I documented the high points.
Roy: Felicia, are you out of your mind?
Laura: Nothing. I can't even remember where they were standing.
Luke: You still don't know who they are?
Laura: I was right there at the window and it was raining. Why -- why won't it come back?
Luke: Well, probably because you're trying to force it. If instant memory was that easy, you'd have remembered the whole thing.
Laura: What do you think this is about, Luke?
Luke: I don't know. It's kind of strange. You seem to be remembering before and after, but there's that big, black void of whatever the event was itself.
Laura: Well, what do you think could be so bad that I would just block it out completely? I mean, why do you think that Rick is there? And what would be in the syringe?
Luke: These are great questions. I wish I knew the answers.
Laura: And I know my mother knows more than she's saying. I know she does.
Luke: I say we go home and you let somebody who's crazy about you tuck you in. Yeah?
Luke: Come on.
Rick: They're gone. Let's go.
Jax: It's true. Our family experiences were completely opposite. But I was lucky enough to go out into the world confident in my abilities. But that didn't protect me from loss. I wasn't sure that I was ever able to love again after I lost Brenda. I wasn't sure I wanted to. But then you barreled into my life, irritating as all hell, driving me insane with frustration one minute and sheer delight the next. A whirlwind of a woman who made her way inside my heart and didn't let go. Well, I'm not letting go, either.
Skye: But, Jax, marriage?
Jax: Yes, marriage.
Skye: If I marry you, I'll lose you for sure.
Courtney: Hey. I owe you so big for covering with A.J. for me. Thank you.
Wynona: Yeah, well, don't get too excited. We're not as brilliant as we thought.
Courtney: What do you mean?
Wynona: Well, he must have followed you here. A.J.'s in a cab parked right across the street.
Felicia: This is the best picture of Alcazar. I snapped it just before you took my head off.
Roy: Felicia, if Alcazar had caught you, the situation would have become problematic to say the least.
Felicia: I was just thinking by using these pictures, we might be able to better find out who he is and what he wants.
Roy: One thing is clear as glass -- he's got a score to settle with Sonny, and it's over something way more valuable than a pier.
Maid: She had a bad night. We gave her the medication as you instructed. It took a while, but she finally drifted off.
Luis: Thank you.
Luis: You're under my care and protection. You're safe and you're mine, and I will never let anyone come between us.
Carly: I cannot wait to tell my mom that we are back together. She's going to be very happy.
Carly: Yeah. And then I'm going to pack up that cottage.
Sonny: I'll see you back at the penthouse. Don't forget your key.
Carly: How long have you been carrying that around?
Sonny: Oh, since the night you left.
Carly: Oh, you are so irritatingly sure of yourself, aren't you?
Sonny: No, just sure of us.
Carly: See you.
Sonny: All right.
Sonny: Oh, boy, again? This is like a record.
Taggert: You're looking good.
Sonny: Thank you.
Taggert: You're under arrest.
Taggert: Kidnapping Carly Corinthos, the unlawful violation of a restraining order.
Sonny: That's funny. But you know what, we got back together, so you go ahead and ask Carly. She's inside there.
Taggert: Tell it to Scotty Baldwin, all right? He's the new D.A. and, well, you know, I think he -- well, he hates you even more than I do. Cuff him.
Sonny: Oh, come on. You're not se--
Taggert: You have the right to remain silent.
Sonny: Again you're going to do this?
Taggert: Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
Sonny: "In a court of law."
Scott: Oh, come on. This is pointless.
Rick: Just keep digging.
Scott: I mean, has it occurred to you how we're going to explain this hole in Feliciaís back yard?
Rick: I have it figured out. One thing at a time, Scotty.
Scott: Yeah, you've got it figured it out, but how do you know we're digging in the right place? I don't even remember anything. I was just a kid!
Rick: I think we found her.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Rick: You all right, Scotty?
Courtney: What am I going to say?
Wynona: I wouldn't suggest a lap dance.
Jax: Take a chance on us.
Zander: It's none of your business, okay?
Elizabeth: It is if you're going after Jason because of me.
Jason: They arrested Sonny for kidnapping you.
Alexis: I am Mr. Corinthos' attorney.
