General Hospital Transcript Thursday 7/18/02
>> Previously on "General Hospital" --
Edward: I want Treycon Industries. Find out what Jax is offering so that I can outbid him.
Sonny: Am I the father?
Ned: No. I am.
Kristina: Congratulations. Ned told me the wonderful news.
Carly: I begged you to choose me for once. You broke my heart for the last time. You are the only one who is always there to catch me when I fall.
Skye: Wake up. Catch up here. Pay attention. You are on the fast track now. No downtime, no letup. Blink and you're left behind. In case you haven't noticed, the minimum standards have changed. "Good enough" won't cut it. From this point on, "amazing" will be our starting place, and we are only going to go up from there. I don't want to see anyone on this team acting like they know the drill, all right? You know the old drill. The new one is going to give every patron who walks through that door exactly what they hope for. And do you what that is?
R.C.: A good time?
Skye: An unforgettable night. The club-going experience of their dreams. Fabulous ambiance and flawless service. Do you get the picture?
R.C.: Yes, yes, yes.
Skye: Good. Then I want you to forget everything you know about working for Carly and you focus on meeting my expectations.
Jax: I love a woman know what she wants.
Reginald: I told you to sell.
Edward: If you feel the need to give some advice, why don't you tell Alan how to run the hospital and leave me alone?
Alan: I know how to run the hospital, thank you very much.
Edward: Oh, really? Then why are you running around in circles ever since Rick Webber reappeared?
Kristina: All right. This is it. I'm going. Who wants this key? What the hell is this -- see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil? I mean, what's going on? What is this, a new Quartermaine mantra? When one of you acts like a jerk, the rest of you act clueless?
Edward: I can only assume that Ned has done something completely objectionable.
Kristina: Oh, no, no. You know what? It's actually me. I am so picky. Can you believe it bothers me when the man I live with tells me he's gotten my sister pregnant?
Alexis: Oh, I didn't order that.
Waiter: Compliments of the gentleman at the corner table.
Sonny: Can I sit down? There's something we need to figure out.
Carly: Sonny --
Jason: Did you have a bad dream?
Carly: I -- I don't know. I can't remember. It's gone. Thanks for staying.
Jason: You know you called out for Sonny?
Carly: Yeah, well, it's a bad habit and I'll get over it. I lived apart from Sonny for over a year, and I didn't cry myself to sleep every night. I got over it eventually. And I'll get over him a lot faster this time. Jason, I'm a lot stronger than you think.
Jason: I know that you're strong. That's not the point.
Carly: Jason, you know me. I do not give up. You can put me in an insane asylum, you can put me 50 feet underwater, and I will keep fighting. I can't fight for Sonny anymore. I don't want to do it again. I mean, God, if I have to keep proving to him that I am good enough to be loved, then is -- I mean, is that even love? Jason, you don't know. You don't know what it was like. You don't know how many times I crawled to him just so he could turn me away and go and confide in her. You know, you got a problem, go to Alexis. What good is Carly?
Jason: Alexis was his lawyer.
Carly: And he swore to me that it was just a professional relationship. But I knew better, Jason. I knew it. I knew that Alexis wanted him, and she got him eventually, and it was in my bed.
Jason: All right, look, Sonny slept with Alexis once while you were divorced. I thought you guys were past this. He said he was sorry and you forgave him.
Carly: And he still went back to Alexis.
Alexis: Yeah, to find out if she was pregnant with his child.
Carly: You don't get it, Jase. I love Sonny with all my heart, and he loves me when it's convenient. I can't do this anymore. It hurts too much.
Jason: You think it's Sonny?
Carly: I don't know, but you know what? If it is, tell him I don't want to see him.
Jason: No. Whatever you have to say, you are going to tell him yourself.
Carly: Fine. Fine. Go to hell!
Alexis: There's nothing to figure out here. There's nothing to discuss. Okay, I'm not your attorney anymore. I'm not your tenant. My personal life is just off limits to you, period. So if you'll excuse me, I have a contract that I need to work on.
Sonny: I'm glad to see you're working on your nutrition.
Alexis: What I drink, what I eat -- that falls under the category --
Ned: Sonny, just back off. Alexis' diet is none of your concern, all right? Alexis herself is none of your concern.
Alexis: Ned, I don't need you monitoring my conversations or my diet, either. I came here for a nice, quiet, stress-free breakfast and to get some work done. So leave, please, both of you.
Sonny: I have one quick question --
Ned: Sonny, did you hear what she said? "Stress-free."
Alexis: The sooner you go back to your table, the sooner he'll leave. Make it quick.
Sonny: I didn't really care for the attorneys you recommended. Is there anybody else you can suggest?
Alexis: No problem.
Sonny: You know what? Not that it's any of my business, but maybe you should cut Ashton some slack. It's only natural for a man to take care of the woman who's carrying his child.
Carly: I thought you were someone else.
Bobbie: Well, that's comforting. Hi. What's going on?
Jason: You know, I should -- I should go.
Carly: I just -- I didn't sleep well, that's all. I didn't get much sleep. Did you?
Jason: Yeah, I got some.
Carly: Liar. You're probably exhausted.
Bobbie: Is Michael here?
Jason: Leticia took him to swim class just before you woke up.
Carly: Hey, thank you. Thank you so much for coming. I needed you so much last night.
Jason: Anytime. Anytime.
Carly: Thanks for being in my life.
Jason: Bye, Bobbie.
Bobbie: Oh, Carly. I don't care what Sonny did. What were you thinking, sleeping with Jason?
Edward: God, another illegitimate Quartermaine baby.
Reginald: How many does that make now?
Edward: This family is going to hell in a handbasket.
Alan: Illegitimate children are a Quartermaine tradition, lest you forget the fact that you started an entirely new branch of the Quartermaines when you were on ship-to-shore leave.
Edward: Now, listen, that was during wartime. And I tell you, Mary Mae was an extraordinary woman. She wasn't some skittish, neurotic, overbred, ancient-curse-carrying Cassadine.
Kristina: Okay, can we please not compare family problems right now?
Alan: I actually think that I prefer Helena Cassadine over you.
Edward: Oh, please. Sit down. Sit down, dear. Despite my -- my well-known disdain for the Cassadines, you and I hit it off right from the start. We did. I've grown even fonder of you since. And you recall that I was the one who hoped that you and Ned would produce a whole new Quartermaine brood. But unfortunately -- mm-hmm -- you dragged your feet and Ned reproduced with the wrong sister.
Alan: Pay no attention to my father. Scapegoating is what he does best.
Edward: It's just obvious that Ned has not gotten over Alexis, and he probably never will.
Reginald: You know, you should probably be happy that your children aren't being raised in this family. Quartermaine offspring don't do so well.
Edward: Due largely to Alan and Monicaís anemic parenting techniques.
Alan: In addition to the fact that my father has a tendency to sell some of his grandchildren.
Skye: And the dance floor is going to be moved to where it should've been in the first place so that diners here can have private conversation if they'd like. And along with the other 20 or 30 other minor changes, I guess I'll have to just live with Carly's choices for the time being.
Jax: Sounds expensive.
Skye: Hey, takes money to make money.
Jax: Are you trying to bankrupt me?
Skye: That is the plan. How long do you think that's going to take?
Jax: Oh, I think that's going to -- that would take a good, long while.
Skye: Oh. You're maybe overconfident.
Jax: I'm never overconfident. This Treycon Industries deal is seriously profitable.
Skye: Oh. Well, the second you close, we should celebrate.
Jax: Too late.
Skye: Well -- what do you mean, "Too late"?
Jax: I wrapped up the deal last night -- that meeting I had to rush off to. Dotted the I's and crossed the Tís. Signed, sealed, and delivered. Treycon Industries is now mine. To tell you the truth, it was -- it was quite easy. I thought Edward would at least make a stab at sabotaging it.
Skye: So did I.
Edward: And that was the exact figure, hmm?
Skye: You lying --
Edward: What --
Skye: Rotten, two-faced snake in the grass. You are going to pay for jerking me around.
Edward: Calm down!
Skye: No, we had a deal!
Edward: We still have a deal.
Skye: I smiled in Jax's face and I slept in his bed to get you that information that you swore was going to bring him down. Whatever happened to "he's not going to know what hit him" or "I can't wait to see the look on that Aussie playboy's face when he realizes we've left him penniless"?
Edward: Lower your voice. These walls have ears.
Skye: No, whatever happened to outbidding him, Grandfather? Or was that the ploy all along, huh? To compromise me?
Edward: My dear, you know, last night was a test, and you passed with flying colors. Jax's prowess with women is -- oh, it's legendary -- and I just had to be sure that you still weren't under his spell and were going to stab me in the back. I had to test your resolve. I had to make sure that the information you were giving me was accurate. That -- that phone call right there that I was making that you interrupted was verifying the information that you slipped me last night. I had to make sure that you were on my side.
Skye: I am not on your side, Grandfather. I am on my own. Now, we have a contract, and I fulfilled my obligation.
Edward: My dear, no, no, no. You just proved that we trust each other sufficiently to move forward. Divide and conquer is Jax's favorite game, and I don't want him playing it with you.
Skye: Have you ever been plowed down by stiletto heels, Grandfather? Oh, that's right. Yes, you have. Now, I did it once and I will do it again if I even think that you are double-crossing me. We have a deal -- I help you destroy Jax and you make me sole beneficiary of all of your assets irreversible. Now, I have jumped through my last hoop, Grandfather. I have stopped going for your love or your approval or even invitations into this house. What I want is that payback. And if you cheat me, I will grind you into dust.
Ned: How did you know it was me?
Kristina: Because I know your touch. I know your smell. I can feel your aura 10 feet away.
Ned: I didn't even know what an aura was, let alone that I had one, until you blasted into my life. Whatever my aura was, you made it better with your beautiful smile, your dancing eyes, the way you jump from one tangent to another but always come back to what you meant to say, the way you brought order into my life and, at the same time, this marvelous sense of chaos. I know. I know I made a mistake. And I know I've broken your heart, and I am sorry. I am truly, truly sorry. And I'm just begging you -- I'm begging you for a second chance.
Kristina: Ned -- I'm just being hit by a million different emotions right now. And all I know is that I never want to hurt this way again.
Ned: I know. I know. It was a mistake. It was one night. It will never happen again.
Kristina: What about -- what about all the lies that came after it?
Ned: Alexis and I would like nothing better for that whole night to go away, but it won't. We have to deal with this, and we will. But I don't want to lose you, Kristina.
Kristina: I just don't know if I can trust you again.
Ned: There's only one sure way to find out. Why don't you let me pull my car around? We'll put this luggage in the car. You can sit in there, sit inside, and you can just decide what you want to do. I'll be right back.
Alexis: Oh, Ned -- hey, hey, hey. Oh, I think that's you. Is that you? Yeah. Listen --
Ned: Alexis --
Alexis: You can't send me milk to the table anymore, okay?
Ned: Alexis --
Alexis: What? Yeah?
Carly: Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mom. I'm really glad to see you've got so much faith in me.
Bobbie: It's obvious you and Sonny have had another fight.
Carly: Yeah, well, it wasn't just a fight, okay? It's over.
Bobbie: It will be if you've done something crazy and vindictive, like sleeping with Jason.
Carly: I didn't sleep with Jason.
Bobbie: Carly, I hope that's true because nothing would hurt Sonny more than to find out you had slept with his best friend. I mean it. I don't think he'd ever get over it. He would be completely destroyed.
Carly: Yeah, you're right. It would destroy him, wouldn't it?
Sonny: Come up with anything on Roy DiLucca?
Jason: He's definitely been asking questions about your operation.
Jason: That's for sure. And he's inquiring about some other properties on the waterfront.
Sonny: Are they for sale?
Jason: Not all of them.
Sonny: Has Benny had any luck tracing Roy's money?
Jason: Yeah -- all cash transfers.
Jason: Most likely it's a courier who drops it off to him. The one thing we do know for sure is that the $1 million cash that they put up is not from some great uncle, some inheritance that Felicia got.
Sonny: Well, a lot of people want to take me on, but not a lot of people have that kind of money. Quartermaines is a possibility. Jax. Stay on it. Hey, listen -- has Carly called you?
Jason: Yeah, I was over at her house.
Sonny: She still upset?
Jason: She cried all night, if that's what you're asking.
Sonny: She's acting like I left her for Alexis when all I did was go find out if Alexis is pregnant with my child. And she -- she's not. I know Carly's hurt. I'm -- I just got to go over there, make it up to her. You know, everything will be fine.
Jason: I don't know. I don't know if it's going to be like that.
Sonny: Is there something you know that I don't?
Jason: Carly told me about the fight.
Jason: Then I spent most of the night watching her cry.
Sonny: So you know she's overreacting.
Jason: That's -- that's what I mean. Don't say that to Carly. Not if you want her back.
Sonny: Okay, whatever you're saying to me, I'm not getting.
Jason: Okay, listen, to Carly --
Jason: She did not make this up in her head.
Jason: She asked you not to go to Alexis --
Sonny: I went to find out of the child was mine --
Jason: Okay, just hold on.
Sonny: I mean --
Jason: Just hold on. Carly asked you not to go. She asked you to choose her, and you didn't.
Sonny: I didn't leave her.
Jason: I know you didnít. She thinks you did.
Sonny: Okay, you know, I know you're trying to help me, but, you know, it's -- it's not working.
Jason: Okay, I was trying to explain why she was upset.
Sonny: Okay, why don't you just tell me how to fix it? What does Carly want?
Jason: Just ask her.
Sonny: I did! I went over there, and she told me to leave. I don't -- you know?
Jason: Carly doesn't think you respect her.
Sonny: Jason --
Jason: Sonny, I --
Sonny: I love her. I -- I married her three times. What more respect do you want than that? Okay, you know what it is? I'll tell you what it is. Carly thought that Alexis was going to have my child, right --
Sonny: When Carly couldnít. But the fact is Alexis' child is not mine. Now Carly and I can have a child of our own. I did not tell you. Doctor called. The fertility treatments worked. So, now, when Carly finds out, it'll all be okay. Right? Go see Jax. Make him an offer he can't refuse. Carly misses the club. I'll buy it back. It's a start, Jason.
Jason: Yeah, if you say so.
Bobbie: Carly, I know that look, and that look has always led to disaster. Whatever you and Sonny have fought about, I think you need to sit down with him and discuss it because he loves you and you love him, and he suffered when you were gone.
Carly: No, Mama, that was guilt.
Bobbie: No, that wasn't guilt. That was love. I know because I was there and I saw it. Don't do this. Don't -- don't lash out again and then live to resent it. You know, you two -- you have a very complicated marriage. But even a complicated marriage has its boundaries, and you need to respect that. Otherwise, it's over. There's no going back.
Carly: That is the point. I keep going back to Sonny, and I don't want to anymore. I want to burn the bridge and I want revenge.
Alexis: I'm so sorry. I didn't see you standing there. I was simply overreacting to his passing show of concern.
Kristina: Oh, I wouldn't say that it's a passing show of concern. I would say that it'll last for about 18 years. And then there is college, and then there's college graduation, and then there's the first job, which will probably be in another city. So both of you will probably fly to that other city to set up the first apartment. Oh, God. You know, sorry. I'm just getting ahead of myself, aren't I? Why don't we start with the present moment? First there is the first sonogram, and then there's the birthing class, and then there's the birth. Ned, you're going to want to be there for the birth of your child. What dad wouldn't want to be there? And then you're going to want to introduce the baby to Brooke Lynn. And then what about the first time the baby gets sick? Both parents are going to rush to the hospital. They're going to hold hands, be worried, hoping, praying. And then when the doctor comes out and says that everything's okay, you'll hold each other. You'll clutch each other, thankful that everything's fine.
Alexis: Kristina, we're -- we're just going to raise the baby together. There's -- there's no other relationship here --
Kristina: Parenting is a relationship. I think I've shown that pretty conclusively, and I've only covered the first six months and after college graduation. Imagine all the other moments in between then. Imagine that they're all little dots, and you connect those dots together, and what do you have? You have a family. You have a mother and a father and a child.
Alexis: Ned and I are not connected that way.
Ned: And we never will be. Look -- look at Lois and I, okay? We can still be parents and lead separate lives --
Alexis: This isn't --
Ned: And that's what we will do.
Alexis: It's not a storybook kind of family.
Kristina: Well, maybe not now. Maybe not now, but give it time. Alexis, you have a huge gap in your life where the person you love should be, and, unfortunately, that person is not available. So Ned and the baby over time will morph into the right shape and fill that gap.
Ned: No. No.
Kristina: And sooner or later, the gap won't be there anymore because a family has filled it. What kind of a person would I be if I took that away from you?
Kristina: You know, your Grandfather was right, Ned. You still hold a torch for Alexis. Looks like the only person who doesn't fit into this equation is me.
Alexis: Kristina --
Alexis: That is absolutely --
Alexis: Not true.
Kristina: Who are you trying to justify it to, Alexis, me or yourself?
Ned: Alexis, please, just let Kristina and I work this out.
Kristina: There is nothing to work out.
Alexis: For God's sake, go after her.
Ned: No. No, no. I will after she -- she needs to be alone for a while, okay? She needs time to process this, to somehow -- somehow get beyond this -- if, in fact, she ever does.
Alexis: You really love her, don't you?
Ned: Yes, I do. Oh.
Alexis: I am so sorry for all of this.
Ned: I'm the one who jumped into the middle of your conversation with Sonny. I'm the one who declared myself the father.
Alexis: You were just trying to protect me and the baby.
Ned: Yeah? Hello?
Edward: Ned, I -- I need you over here immediately. There's a -- there's a family emergency.
Ned: I'll be right there.
Edward: No, wait, wait -- Ned, wait.
Edward: Bring Alexis, all right?
Skye: We're not open. And even if we were, you wouldn't be welcome.
Jason: I have a meeting with Jax.
Skye: Why would Jax be meeting with you?
Jason: It's about the club.
Skye: This club isn't for sale.
Jason: I'll wait for the owner.
Skye: Well, must be pretty satisfying to ride around on your motorcycle pretending to be some fearless thug while waiting for your inheritance to kick in. Well, I got news for you -- there won't be any inheritance for you or any other Quartermaine besides me. So you just sit there as smug as you want, treating me like I'm hardly a consideration, but let's see who's smug in the end when I'm Edward's only heir.
Jason: What are you talking about? That's what you think about -- taking people's money after they're dead?
Skye: Unlike you who threaten people, who destroy businesses, destroy families. Does it ever bother you how you make money?
Jax: Answer to that would be no. Don't waste your time, Skye. It's like talking to a wall. What do you want?
Jason: Sonny wants to buy the club for Carly.
Jax: Not interested. Anything else?
Jason: Come on, Jax. You don't need this place.
Jax: Well, I've already given the manager's position to Skye --
Jax: So I can't very well rescind her job.
Jason: You're not holding onto this place for Skye. It's a way for you to get over on Sonny.
Jax: Well, that's not my primary consideration, but it does always have its fringe benefits.
Jason: How far would you go to wreck Sonny? Would you set him up, maybe pay someone else to do it?
Jax: You know, for a man who doesn't say much, you have a lot of questions. Is your boss in some kind of trouble?
Jason: No. But you could be.
Jax: Oh, there's the threat, right on time. Well, I'll say this for you, Jason -- you're remarkably consistent.
Jason: Jax, I don't threaten people.
Jax: That's right. You're just the messenger. So here's my message for Sonny -- club's not for sale to him at any price. And don't bother showing up around here again because you'll be turned away at the door. Sorry about that. I tried to give you a heads up. I tried to call you on your cell phone.
Skye: Oh, yeah, I had an errand to run.
Jax: You okay?
Skye: Oh, I can handle Jason.
Jax: There's something else going on here. You want to tell me now, or do I have to find out on my own?
Skye: A month ago, you know, I was running E.L.Q., a multinational company. Today I'm running a nightclub while you're out making million-dollar deals. It's kind of tough on a former C.E.O.'s pride.
Skye: Not that I'm blaming you or it's your fault. No, it's my fault for not really paying attention. But, you know, I -- I really don't want to dwell on it. I donít. I'd much rather celebrate your profitable deal with you.
Jax: Nice try, but there's more to it than that.
Ned: I have a pretty good idea why we're here, so let me preempt any family madness by laying out some ground rules.
Edward: Ned, we know about the pregnancy. So, when do you plan to announce the impending birth of the newest Quartermaine heir, huh?
Ned: Not yet.
Alexis: Oh, God. How did you find out?
Alan: Well, your sister was quite eager to spread the news. So if you were hoping to keep it a secret, forget about it.
Edward: Now that it's all out in the open, we can get started planning the little one's future. You have to get ahead of this sort of thing.
Alan: However, you must be very careful that Father doesn't sell your child.
Ned: All details concerning this child are no one's business but ours. Now, we gave you the courtesy of coming over here and accepting your congratulations face to face, but don't let that give you the impression that we care what you think, Grandfather, because we don't. This child is off limits.
Lila: Oh. Reginald said that Edward has a surprise for me.
Edward: So, tell your grandmother the happy news, huh?
Carly: Sonny is way past due for some payback, and I know just how I'm going to give it to him.
Bobbie: You know who's going to get hurt in all of this? You are.
Carly: I am already hurting. Okay, now it's Sonny's turn. Whatever goes around comes around, and Sonny's going to get exactly what he deserves.
Bobbie: Do you realize all you're going to manage to do is to make him furious.
Bobbie: Oh, honey, come on. Instead of escalating this, why don't you sit down and try to work it out with him?
Carly: No, there is not a chance in that. Sonny broke my heart. Now it's my turn to break his.
Bobbie: Oh, so that's your idea of a solution -- making sure that both of you are miserable?
Carly: How come it's okay for Sonny to hurt me but I'm not allowed to hurt him? He can stomp all over my heart, and then I'm supposed to forgive him. Or even better yet, I'm supposed to say it's my fault. Do you know what? It's not my fault. This is Sonny's fault, and he is going to pay this time.
Kristina: Get out of my way. I want to talk to Sonny.
Johnny: Wait out here. I'll tell him.
[Knock on door]
Kristina: Sonny? Sonny, it's Kristina. I have to talk to you. Fine. If you want to have the discussion this way -- do you realize that you're the reason why my sister's pregnant?
Skye: Hey, I am not complaining about running the club. I mean, certainly it gives me something to focus on, and, as we both know, I do tend to get into trouble with too much free time on my hands. And, besides, there's a certain cachet from turning this place into something bigger than Carly ever dreamed of, hmm?
Jax: Hmm. You still haven't answered my question. I heard what you said to Jason just now. So what's this about you being Edward's only heir? You conspiring with your grandfather? Have the two of you joined forces?
Ned: Hello, Grandmother.
Edward: Lila, Ned and Alexis have some life-altering news.
Lila: Oh, I've always known it would happen. You two are reuniting.
Ned: Well, not exactly.
Edward: Are you going to tell her or am I?
Ned: Alexis and I -- um -- we're expecting a child.
Lila: Oh, how lovely! Another great-grandchild. What a precious gift. And now we have a wedding to plan. You two have made me very happy.
Kristina: You broke my sister's heart! You seduced her and then you dropped her like a hot potato, so she rebounded to Ned. Because of your callous rejection, her judgment was temporarily impaired, so she had sex with a man who she'd already rejected. Do you know why? Because she couldn't think straight. Because she went temporarily insane because you chose that crazy, hateful, spiteful wife of yours over her. Well, I got news for you. You are the reason that Alexis is pregnant. Now it's your turn to step up to the plate, Sonny. Get rid of Carly. Open your heart. Open your life up to a woman who deserves your love. You can't even count the things that Alexis has done for you. She has lost friends because of her loyalty to you. She has made your life a priority instead of her own life. She is one of the most exceptional women I have ever met and you know you have ever met in your life, while Carly is a focus study in a doctoral psychology class on evil --
Sonny: Don't talk about -- don't talk about my wife again. Don't insult her. Don't even say her name. My personal life is none of your business and yours is of no interest --
Kristina: Sonny --
Sonny: Shut up! If you're upset because Ned went back to Alexis, you take it up with him.
Kristina: This is all your fault.
Sonny: You don't even live in this building. Your sister doesn't even work for me anymore. Don't come back here again.
Kristina: You broke my sister's beautiful heart. Well, your heart is next, buddy. That's how it works.
Carly: I want to pay you back for last night. Come on, let me treat you to dinner here.
Jason: You can thank me by cooking for someone else we both know.
Carly: I will order it in, okay? You just name the place.
Jason: Carly, you really need to work this out with Sonny.
Carly: I need you, okay? Come on, Jase, just be my friend.
Carly: All right, what kind of food do you want?
Jason: Something you don't cook. Pizza. Pizza would be good.
Carly: All right, I'll see you tonight.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Bobbie: You are arranging for Sonny to walk in and find you and Jason in bed.
Sonny: Do not let her do anything crazy.
Jason: Carly does what she wants.
Elizabeth: Who is it? Answer me!
Laura: It happened on a night like this.
Luke: What did you see?
