>> Previously on "General Hospital" --

Luke: What are you really doing here?

Rick: I may go into a business.

Carly: You won't tell Alexis that we spoke?

Les: The firm will be so glad to have her back; no one will ask many questions.

Man: Are you there?

Jason: Yeah.

Sonny: So they want Pier 52 in return for Elizabeth? What about Zander?

Jason: He went into a bar, nobody's seen him since.

Elizabeth: Come find me.

Rick: Two weeks will be just fine. That'll be enough time.

Elizabeth: Come on! Oh, thank you.

[Door opens]

Elizabeth: Zander? Oh, my God. Zander? What did you do to him?

Man: He tried to interfere.

Elizabeth: Oh, Zander, you okay? Come on, can you hear me? Please, Zander, wake up. Come on.

Man: He's alive. At least he was on the way over.

Elizabeth: Take him out of here. You don’t need him. You already have me.

Man: He asked all the wrong questions. He stays here.

Elizabeth: Oh, come on, Zander. He needs a doctor.

Man: You got bigger problems, hon, like hoping Jason Morgan follows the ransom instructions.

Elizabeth: Come on, Zander, wake up.

Man: Jason Morgan. Hey, how about a beer on the house, huh?

Jason: Elizabeth Webber was grabbed by two men. Who are they? Where did they take her?

Man: Man, I don't know what you're talking about.

Jason: Hey, one of the men who grabbed her used to work for Roscoe, and Roscoe uses this place to meet. Do you see where I'm heading?

Man: Yeah. Look, man, I don't want any trouble.

Jason: Okay, then answer my question. Zander Smith -- 22 years old, dark hair, used to deal for Sorel. Maybe he came in here looking for Roscoe's people.

Man: Yeah, he was in here with a guy named Kent who used to work for Roscoe.

Jason: Okay, keep going.

Man: Oh, come on, I'm trying to remember.

Jason: First you're going to do something for me.

Luke: What kind of business are you here for, Rick?

Rick: It's in the medical field.

Luke: But I thought you gave up your practice.

Rick: I have. Look, I'm here in Port Charles for one thing -- to see you and Laura married. Now, if anything else happens, that's gravy.

Luke: I see. So you're here early so you can do the business?

Rick: I wouldn't be here at all if it wasn't for Laura. When she called me, I was thrilled. We have shared many, many special moments.

Luke: Why haven't you been in touch with her before now? I mean, when was the last time you saw her? It had to be a decade at least.

Rick: It was difficult for the two of you, it was difficult for me. I love Laura and there is a very special connection between us.

Luke: Yes, I know, and I saw the way she was smiling at you. It's just like old times.

Rick: Good. Thank you. You got to forgive me, but I've got to run. There are a couple people at the hospital I have to touch base with.

Luke: Okay. Well, I'm glad you're here, and I'll see you later.

Rick: Thanks.

Lesley Lu: This is where Mom used to play when she was a kid.

Maxie: Wow. Lucky her. My mom would never let us come up here alone when we were your age. Wow! Look at all this old stuff!

Lesley Lu: Look, some hats! This is a hat.

Maxie: And dresses and shoes. And wigs. How do I look?

Lesley Lu: Silly.

Maxie: You're supposed to say, "Like a movie star." Hey, I have a good idea. Let's play dress up.

Lesley Lu: Okay.

Maxie: Come on, girl, we need supplies.

Carly: You know what? We shouldn't be seeing each other.

Sonny: I want to see more of you, actually.

Carly: No -- no, we're going to renew our vows in a couple of hours and it's very bad luck.

Sonny: We're already married.

Carly: I know, but I don't want to take any chances.

Sonny: You take more chances than anybody I know. You're fearless.

Carly: I know, and it drives you crazy. I do crazy things and take chances and screw up.

Sonny: I know who you are, all right? All of it -- it's okay.

Carly: I know.

Sonny: What are you afraid of?

Carly: I just love you so much, Sonny, and I just want this to last forever.

Sonny: It will, I promise.

[Knock on door]

Sonny: Why? Why? Why?

Carly: I don't know. Because you don't have a bodyguard anymore.

Alexis: Hi. I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to speak with you.

Carly: You know what? This isn't a really good time.

Alexis: This really shouldn't wait.

Sonny: If Alexis says it's important, it is.

Carly: It's more important than -- than us to have --

Alexis: Actually, Carly, this will interest you, too. I've been offered a position at a firm in Manhattan.

Sonny: You're leaving town?

Alexis: A firm that I used and I know the partners, they know me, and they've offered me a lot of leeway when it comes to vacation time and so on.

Sonny: How did it happen? Did -- you know, did you call them, tell them you're available?

Alexis: Well, they've made a lot of overtures in the past and, to be honest, I thought they had given up, and then out of the blue, one of the partners called. At first I thought it was just too coincidental, but then I realized why it happened.

Alexis: This offer came up because it was the right thing for me. I've been wanting a change and I've been thinking about moving back to Manhattan, and when the right thing comes up, you need to recognize it and act on it.

Sonny: So you took the job?

Alexis: Yes, I did.

Carly: Well, for you it must've been a really great offer.

Alexis: Yes, it was a good offer. Manhattan's a very expensive city, so the compensation was more than adequate. So, that's it.

Sonny: So -- your mind's made up? You're ready to make a change? I'm not going to stand in your way.

Alexis: So I've summarized your litigation pending and in progress and here's a list of all the attorneys that I think are at the top of their field in each area. The list is long because some of them may turn you down and, finally, here's a formal letter of resignation.

Sonny: It's very formal.

Alexis: I'll still fulfill my contractual obligations, but the firm wants me in New York right away.

Carly: Okay, well, you know, we wish you all the best.

Alexis: I'll be available to help you with the transition.

Sonny: You don't have to worry about me.

Alexis: I will leave you my number and my address as soon as I get settled.

Carly: Alexis, I really hope that you know that I only had your best interest at heart when I suggested that you leave.

Alexis: Your suggestion had absolutely nothing to do with my decision, Carly.

Carly: You realized that it was time to call it quits and start fresh. You know what? I do respect that.

Alexis: Then that's it. Take care.

Sonny: You, too.

Bobbie: I still haven't heard "yes."

Scott: I'm sorry, what was the question?

Bobbie: Will you be my date for Luke and Laura’s wedding?

Scott: Yes, I will. And do you want to know why?

Bobbie: Did I ask why?

Scott: Well, I'm going to tell you why because you probably think I would come up with any excuse in the world to avoid Luke and Laura’s second wedding and if I did, you'd think that I was carrying a torch for Laura.

Bobbie: That's right.

Scott: Well, I love Laura. I care about her. I'm not in love with her. I want -- I want her to be happy, and if it's with your brother, then so be it. I will be at the wedding and I will be dancing, if only to get to dance with you.

Bobbie: Aw. Well, then you got yourself a date.

Monica: Thank you.

Rick: Monica.

Monica: I can't believe it.

Rick: You haven't changed one bit, not one bit.

Monica: And -- well, you always knew the right thing to say.

Rick: I mean what I say.

Monica: So, what brings you back to Port Charles?

Rick: Laura's wedding -- how's that for déjà vu?

Monica: Oh, I'm so glad that she invited you.

Rick: Actually, I'm going to repeat my role as father of the bride. I'm going to walk her down the aisle.

Monica: Really?

Rick: Mm-hmm.

Alan: You conveniently left out the other reason you came.

Rick: Alan, the meetings at this point are still very informal.

Monica: What -- what meetings?

Alan: The takeover meetings. You see, Rick is the advance man for the consortium that wants to buy out General Hospital.

Monica: Oh, yeah. We've heard about that. Kappa health care.

Rick: That's right.

Alan: Yep -- medical care goes down, profits go up. That's your credo, right?

Rick: A lot of doctors feel that way, Alan, until they study our plan. Then they see there's a difference. They see the real picture.

Alan: According to you.

Rick: Don't rush to judgment, please, have an open mind. My group owns Mercy Hospital. This evening I'm having a very impromptu gathering at Luke's club. Now, I'm inviting some of the staff of Mercy and some of the staff from here. If you go, you'd be able to talk to the doctors there, and they can explain to you exactly how our procedure works. And I would like very much -- and I'm very sincere, please -- if the two of you come tonight.

Monica: Sounds interesting.

Rick: Alan, can I count on you?

Alan: I'll see if my schedule works out.

Rick: Hey. Now you know the ugly truth.

Monica: Oh, come on, Rick. You wouldn't be involved with something if you didn't believe in it.

Rick: Thank you for not just assuming that I'm the devil's incarnate.

Monica: I do have a question, though.

Rick: Sure.

Monica: Well, I know that you and Ginny are divorced. I also know that you're not wearing a wedding ring. I just wondered why some lucky girl hasn't managed to snatch you up.

Elizabeth: Zander? Zander, wake up, please. Can you hear me? It's me, Elizabeth. Zander? Zander, please, I'm right here. Oh, God. Hey, how do you feel?

Zander: Oh, God, like they played soccer practice with my head.

Elizabeth: Okay, here, let me help you. Wait, take it easy. Just go slow. Slow, slow, slow.

Zander: Where are we?

Elizabeth: Oh, God. In a crypt in the cemetery.

Zander: In a crypt? What? Oh, God. I'm so sorry.

Elizabeth: For what?

Zander: I screwed up. I thought I'd convince -- convince Roscoe's guys that I wanted in. I thought I could maybe find you.

Elizabeth: Wait. Wait. How did you know who took me?

Zander: I went to your studio and I heard you scream. I went out to the window and I saw two guys throw you in a car. I ran down, but I couldn't get there fast enough. One of them was Roscoe's guy. Have they hurt you?

Elizabeth: No, no. No, they have scared me half to death, but I'm -- I'm fine.

[Zander groans]

Elizabeth: Listen, careful.

Zander: I'm all right. You've been here the whole time?

Elizabeth: Yeah. I -- I tried to get out. I unscrewed those bolts from the wall and used them as a pry bar on the door, but all I ended up doing was opening the vault or whatever you call it.

Zander: What, you want me to close it?

Elizabeth: No. I'm sure it's too heavy.

Zander: Well, I say it's worth a try. These bones are kind of freaking me out, too.

Elizabeth: Yeah, well, try being locked alone in here with them.

Zander: Well, do you still have the bolts?

Elizabeth: Yeah, a couple of them. Here.

[Zander groans]

Elizabeth: Hey. Hey -- you know what? Forget it.

Zander: No.

Elizabeth: Forget it. You need to rest. Sit down.

Zander: No, no, no, no. We'll -- if it doesn't work, I'll rest, okay? Come on, let's try it.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Zander: All right. On the count of three.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Zander: One --

Elizabeth: Yeah.

Zander: Two, three.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Elizabeth: You can hold it?

Zander: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Wait. My side's not in.

Zander: Can you get that side in?

Elizabeth: No. Move it over.

[Zander groans]

Elizabeth: Okay. Okay, okay, okay.

Zander: Can you get it?

Elizabeth: I think so.

Zander: All right, come on.

Elizabeth: Oh.

Zander: There, can you get that side? You got it?

Elizabeth: Yeah, almost, almost.

[Zander groans]

Zander: Shove it. All right. Let me test it out. All right. Let's see.

Elizabeth: Thank God. Oh.

Zander: Rest in peace, Jerry Quinn.

Elizabeth: Thank you. It was making me sick every time I'd look at those guys.

Zander: Yeah, I don't blame you.

Zander: Elizabeth, have they told you what's going on?

Elizabeth: Just they need something from Jason.

Zander: And when they get it, they're -- they're not going to let us live.

Elizabeth: Well, maybe -- maybe Jason's just stalling till -- until he figures out where we are.

Zander: They're upping the ante. They're making threats. If we want to make it out of here, we got to come up with a plan.

Man: Hey. This better be good, man. I don't like being summoned.

Jason: Where's Elizabeth Webber?

Man: Hey, man, I never heard of her.

Jason: Try again.

Man: I left a poker game for this.

Jason: Hey. Maybe I wasn't making myself clear. You need to tell me where Elizabeth Webber is now.

Elizabeth: He's dead! You killed him! I told you he needed a doctor! Now he's dead! Are you listening to me?

Man: He's not dead.

Elizabeth: Oh, yeah? Well, he stopped breathing. He stopped breathing. What did you do to him, huh? What did you do to him?

Man: Quit your screaming, will you? He's just unconscious.

Elizabeth: No, he's not! He's dead!

Man: No.

Elizabeth: Zander --

Zander: Run, Elizabeth!

Elizabeth: Get off of him! Get off of him!

Zander: No! No!

Man: You mean more to me alive -- for now.

Bobbie: So Rick is part of this health consortium.

Luke: That's circling General Hospital right now like a hungry shark.

Bobbie: Hmm, something like that.

Luke: You think he's going to pull it off?

Bobbie: Alan thinks so. You should've seen his reaction. He was spitting nails.

Luke: I get the feeling Alan might be worked up about something other than General Hospital.

Monica: Okay, okay. So maybe General Hospital does need a few improvements.

Rick: I didn't say one word about your chief of staff.

Monica: Alan did not inherit his father's skilled money management.

Rick: Boy, you went straight out there like you always did.

Monica: Hmm. Not exactly a compliment.

Rick: For you, it is. It's one of your finest qualities.

Rick: What?

Monica: Us. I mean, us -- we're standing here, we're talking and it's just like it's -- everything has faded away and you -- you just left yesterday.

Rick: I know what you mean.

Monica: We worked well together, didn't we?

Rick: No, we were in sync. We read each other's thoughts, Monica.

Monica: And now I -- I miss that sometimes.

Rick: I miss that, and I miss you.

Monica: So, how long are you staying here?

Rick: Through the wedding, unless negotiations go the way I think they can go, then I'll be back.

Monica: I like that.

Rick: In the meantime --

Monica: Yeah?

Rick: I need someone that -- no, I need you on my team. I need a doctor that has your brilliance, your vision, and your passion to make General Hospital what it should be.

Scott: Monica, come on, you're not going to buy that garbage.

Carly: Sonny, I didn't mean it the way it sounded. Well, you know what? Honestly, I did, but I really, truly -- I think it's a good move for Alexis. And although I'm probably not the person she wanted to hear it from, but I think that --

[Knock on door]

Sonny: Oh. Let me get my -- there you go, buddy.

Carly: What is that?

Sonny: Open it and see.

Carly: A dress?

Sonny: For you, tonight.

Carly: You know, this is becoming a tradition with us. Sonny, you can't seem to say your vows to me unless I'm wearing a dress that you bought me.

Sonny: I hope you like it.

Carly: Oh, Sonny. Oh, it's gorgeous.

Sonny: This is our last time, so I just want everything to be perfect, okay?

Carly: It's already perfect. It's just you and me and no witnesses.

Sonny: Yeah. I don't want you running upstairs, okay? I want you to stay by my side.

Carly: You know, the first time we got married it was so different. I loved you. I did so much, but I just didn't believe you loved me, and I think if Jason hadn't been here, there's no way I would've gone through with it. But he made me realize that you love me, too.

Sonny: And I always will.

Carly: You know I feel like I don't deserve all this happiness that just -- just thinking about it that -- that something's going to go wrong. I know it's crazy, but --

Sonny: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's crazy.

Carly: I just couldn't stand it if anything pulled us apart.

Sonny: Will you stop with the "what ifs?" This is happening, we're getting married.

Carly: Yeah, but I just want to make it this time.

Sonny: We made it already. What are you talking about? Look how much we've been through, right? And we're still standing. Nothing's going to get in our way.

Luke: Feel like you stepped into a medical convention?

Alexis: It's not your usual crowd.

Luke: No, it's a private party, sort of. Well, it's not really private, but Dr. Rick Webber is throwing it. He's plying all the lambs with liquor before he leads them to the slaughter. It's a sordid story.

Alexis: Well, then we'll just leave it at that.

Luke: That's wise. Well, if you have any ailments, this is the place to be tonight. I'll check you, make sure your vital signs are still working in a little while. Have fun.

Dr. Bonds: Ms. Davis.

Alexis: Dr. Bonds. I certainly didn't expect to see you here.

Dr. Bonds: Oh, this is my first time in this colorful club. I'm here on behalf of Mercy Hospital.

Alexis: Oh, well, of course you are. Listen, this is fortuitous anyway because there's something that I want to speak to you about.

Dr. Bonds: Oh, is everything all right?

Alexis: Yeah –

Luke: Now, what kind of a doctor would you be? Knowing this walking Rorschach test the way I do, I'd say you're probably a shrink. Am I right?

Lesley Lu: How do I look?

Maxie: Ooh, very glam, but I get dibs on the flowery hat.

Lesley Lu: Let's pretend we're sisters and we're going to a fancy ball in a fancy carriage!

Maxie: Okay. Hey, I can teach you how to waltz.

Lesley Lu: Really?

Maxie: Yeah.

[Phone rings]

Maxie: Why don't you put on your pink shoes?

Maxie: Hey, Cody. Can you speak up? No, my parents aren't around. What? You're -- you're breaking up. I can hardly hear you. I'm going to the back yard. This call's about homework. You okay for a minute?

Lesley Lu: I guess.

Maxie: Okay. I'll be right back.

Lesley Lu: Okay.

Alexis: Good. This way I don't have to have two separate conversations.

Luke: About what?

Alexis: I'm moving back to Manhattan.

Luke: You're joking.

Alexis: No, I'm serious. I got a plum offer at my old firm, and I decided to take it.

Luke: Just like that?

Alexis: I was hoping that you might be able to refer me to a general practitioner?

Dr. Bonds: I'll call you tomorrow with a couple of names.

Alexis: Good. Thank you.

Dr. Bonds: Nice to meet you.

Luke: Nice meeting you, Doctor. Why are you doing this?

Alexis: Because I need a change of scenery.

Luke: You? What about me? Who am I supposed to call next time I get arrested? Baldwin?

Alexis: He's an excellent attorney.

Luke: He's a hack.

Alexis: Whatever.

Luke: You know you're not going to have any fun at all in Manhattan without me.

Alexis: I'll take the risk.

Luke: Well, I'll miss you, and you're going to miss me, too, because I'm a very intriguing client.

Alexis: You're a pain in my butt.

Luke: Well, thank you.

Alexis: I'll miss you.

Luke: I'll miss you, too. You've got style. And you're the only other person I know other than me that hates Helena with a raging passion.

Alexis: I've always appreciated that trait in you.

Luke: Yeah, likewise. Look, you're doing this for the right reason, aren't you? I mean, you're not doing this out of some martyred need to save somebody or protect somebody or -- I mean, that's all counterproductive. You're not doing any of that, are you?

Alexis: I'm doing what's right for me. I'm being very selfish.

Luke: Good. Good. Well, good luck.

Alexis: Oh. Oh. Oh.

Scott: You're running your hospitals like fast-food restaurants.

Monica: Scott, come on now.

Scott: Monica, he's just trying to charm you so you don't see the reality.

Rick: Scott, if you listen to our presentation, I think you'll change your mind.

Scott: Every time a hospital is taken over, it's the same old story -- patients suffer, the nurses, the doctors, and I'm not going to let that happen to General Hospital.

Alan: So what do you think about what's going on?

Scott: It stinks. And I hate what it's going to do to Bobbie.

Alan: Not just Bobbie, but every employee in the hospital.

Scott: Bobbie's a great nurse, you know? The whole staff. You know, if you want to put up a fight, you count me in.

[Music plays]

Monica: Rick, really, I'm sorry. Scott was completely out of line.

Rick: Look, I've heard everything a 1,000 times. In some instances, it's almost accurate. I'm continually having to clear up misapprehensions.

Monica: Well, not with me because I intend to keep an open mind.

Rick: Good. That -- does that mean you're going to help me for old times' sakes?

Monica: Oh, well --

Rick: No pressure. Absolutely no pressure.

Monica: Good, good, because I would like to think about it.

Rick: Oh, please, think about it. You want to dance while you're thinking?

Monica: For old times' sake?

Rick: No, for new.

Jason: 2.2 pounds of pressure. That's all it takes. Where's Elizabeth?

Man: All right. All right, I'll tell you.

Minister: So would you like a traditional ceremony?

Sonny: Whatever you think is appropriate. We also have our own vows --

Minister: Great.

Sonny: So I don't know.

Minister: That's good.

Carly: You like?

Sonny: Will you marry me?

Carly: I thought you'd never ask.

Minister: We have come together in the presence of God to witness and bless the joining together of this man and this woman in holy matrimony. The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy, for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity. Therefore, marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God. Caroline, would you like to begin?

Carly: Sonny, I have loved you for so long and so deeply. I can hardly remember a time without you in my life. You make my life whole. And I have done a lot of things to try and push you away, but through them all, I have always loved you, and I thank you for knowing that. You're a part of me, Sonny, no matter whatever happens between us. I will love you for the rest of my life. And nothing will ever change that.

Sonny: I'm not an easy man, and you know that. I've lived the kind of life that I never thought I would ask anyone to share. And then you came along, and I found what I was missing. You never hold back. I don't know anybody who - who lives a life as full as you do, and that's what I love about you. I know you think I drive you -- well, you drive me crazy sometimes, but -- and sometimes I think you do, but the truth is I need you, okay? And this past year when I couldn't forgive you, I went through some hard times. My life was less without you in it. But time is precious, and I don't want to waste it. I realized that when you were gone, and I also realized that I need to forgive you and I need to trust you, and I do.

Scott: Spencer, have you heard from Laura?

Luke: What do you mean?

Scott: Well, I know that she left town suddenly.

Luke: Look, that's personal business, all right?

Scott: You think maybe she's getting cold feet?

Luke: No, Baldwin, she ain't getting cold feet.

Scott: Well, I know that she's smart and levelheaded except when it comes to you, but to leave town just like that for no reason, I mean, I know she was upset, but --

Luke: Who told you all this? Who?

Maxie: Cody, I can’t. Because I'm babysitting, that's why. Well, yeah, she's up in the attic playing dress up. I'm really not supposed to. Maybe for just a little while -- 10 minutes max, okay? Okay, I'll meet you on the corner.

Zander: Are you okay?

Elizabeth: I'm fine. But you got hit pretty hard, and I know your ribs aren't healed yet.

Zander: No, I'm fine. I'm fine, okay? You just have to promise me not to fight him again, Elizabeth, okay? Promise me.

Elizabeth: I should've run. I should've run, but I thought he was going to kill you.

Zander: Oh, no, it's okay. It's okay. Now, you said he's the only one watching you, right?

Elizabeth: Right.

Zander: Okay. We'll rest now, we'll figure out someway to get out of here; we'll come up with a plan.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Zander: Good.

Jason: Where is Elizabeth Webber? Tell me.

Man: E.L.Q. --

Jason: What about E.L.Q.? What, the office? One of the properties? What? Tell me where Elizabeth is!

Man: You'll never figure -- figure it out.

Jason: No.

Sonny: Everything we've been through -- all the hard times -- has led me to you.

Sonny: I want to have a child, Carly. I haven't been able to think about that for a long time. Now I see it as clear as a picture. A baby in our arms. It'll be a way of showing we have faith in our family and hope for our future.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Sonny: What do you think you're doing?

Taggert: I got a warrant. Tear the place apart.

Officer: What happened?

Andy: Jason Morgan’s back in town.

Alan: Look at her, gushing at her age -- it's disgusting.

Luke: My wife is none of your concern.

Scott: She'll always be my concern!
