Elizabeth: You both are nothing to me.
Judge: Doesn't anyone know how to elope anymore?
Laura: I'm just not ready.
Jason: We never say what happened, we never say how.
Elizabeth: Oh, my God. Zander!
Zander: No police.
Tony: Would it be better if I contacted Sonny?
Jason: Let her go with Zander. He understands the rules now.
Nurse: Your friend dropped these.
Luke: We are getting married, my darling. This choo-choo is on the tracks and I for one am really happy about it.
Laura: But you've been brooding all day. I wish you would tell me why.
Luke: Nothing. Nothing. Everything's fine, really.
Laura: And that's why you've disappeared to parts unknown again?
Luke: Ah, you know me. I just get a little restless, have to get out, get a little air. Listen, I got to go.
Laura: Go where? Where are you?
Luke: I love you.
Laura: Oh, Luke.
[Knock on door]
Bobbie: Hey, Laura.
Bobbie: What's wrong?
Laura: Well, I'm not sure just yet.
Guard: They're ready for you.
Guard: Right this way. You know the drill.
Elizabeth: Oh, God! Lucky, don't sneak up on me like that.
Lucky: I'm sorry. Are you okay?
Elizabeth: I'm fine, fine. I'm just going to my studio.
Lucky: Hey, Elizabeth, wait a minute -- tell me what's going on.
Carly: Zander was attacked?
Carly: Well, is he -- is he all right?
Taggert: He's -- he's pretty bad, but he can still talk, which I'm sure is going to be a big disappointment to whoever did this.
Carly: Well, what are you doing here? Why aren't you out there trying to track down whoever did this to him?
Taggert: We know who did this. Welcome back, anger boy. Didn't waste any time getting back to work, did you?
Carly: Oh, you're saying that Jason did this to Zander? Okay, you know what? That's a lie, so unless you have a signed warrant to be here, get the hell out of my house!
Taggert: He was roughed up by a professional, all right? And he will recover. That was the intention, wasn't it? Nobody has anything to say? All righty, then. I guess we just have to go by Zander's statement.
Carly: Okay, fine, you do that. Now get out.
Taggert: You know, I -- I thought you and Zander were friends. Huh? Kid tells a pretty good story, you know. He paints your hus-- oh. Ex, ex -- I'm sorry. I have trouble remembering that. Anyways, Zander's testimony is going to cause a lot of problems for Mr. Corinthos and Mr. Morgan.
Sonny: Taggert, you got nothing because there is nothing. You barge in here without a warrant. You've been asked to leave and you donít. You're violating our rights -- again. I'm going to have to sue.
Taggert: You know, you-all don't seem all that upset about this or that surprised.
Carly: Okay. I want to go see Zander.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah.
Taggert: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll bet Sonny does, too, right? You want to make sure he keeps his mouth shut, right? Ain't that right, Sonny boy?
Carly: All right, I'm going to go tell Leticia we got to go.
Taggert: Yeah, yeah, you do that. You are good, anger boy. You think you're good enough to get away with it? Or can you think? Maybe you just do what Sonny tells you to do, huh? That is a conspiracy, by the way -- murder with special circumstances?
Sonny: Did somebody die?
Taggert: They always do when you're involved, Sonny. That's the way you do business, isn't it? You profit, people pay the price. How do you sleep at night?
Alexis: Zander, I am trying to help you. You have got to tell me who did this to you. Was it Sonny? Did Sonny have someone do this to you?
Zander: You know, I'm kind of tired, Alexis. I don't really feel like talking right now.
Alexis: You're still here?
Ned: Uh -- yeah. I thought you might need a friend.
Bobbie: Laura, what are you looking for? Did Luke say something to you on the phone just now?
Laura: It's not what he said. It's what he didn't say.
Bobbie: Oh. What does that mean?
Laura: It's not him, Bobbie. It's me. I just -- I don't know. I guess I have this -- this feeling, this apprehension, I guess, you know, right in the pit of my stomach.
Bobbie: Oh. I think what you have is butterflies.
Laura: No, Bobbie. I think it's a little more than that.
Bobbie: No, no, no. I think you and Luke both have a case of pre-wedding jitters. My goodness, you're acting as if you've never been married before.
Laura: It's not just how I feel. My new engagement ring is gone.
Guard: The warden says thanks for the bottle of scotch.
Luke: Well, tell him he's welcome, and the cigars I promised are in the mail.
Helena: Well, Luke, darling.
Luke: Hello, pumpkin. I was never here.
Guard: Yeah, the warden made that clear.
Helena: Well, I've been expecting you. But I must admit the timing surprises me a bit.
Luke: Well, timing's everything to the incarcerated.
Helena: Have you really missed me that much? Arranging this mysterious little tÍte-ŗ-tÍte? You couldn't stay away, could you? I'm flattered. I was feeling a bit neglected.
Luke: I'm feeling a bit neglected myself, waiting for your next move. So what's it going to be, darling? What are you after this time?
Lucky: I just -- I don't want you to feel like you have to avoid me.
Elizabeth: We're going to run into each other, Lucky. It's inevitable, but that doesn't mean that I feel like confiding in you.
Lucky: Yeah, well, you know, we're talking now. I feel like that's progress. I got something I need to say about your sister and about this whole situation.
Elizabeth: Look, please don't bother, Lucky, what's done is done.
Lucky: No, just let me get it out, okay? I am sorry for hurting you.
Elizabeth: I'm over it. I have moved on. Feel free to do the same.
Lucky: Hey, I'm not trying to make excuses about this whole thing. There's something you should know -- it wasn't deliberate, I wasn't expecting it, I wasn't even looking for it.
Elizabeth: Okay, you know what? This is way more information than I need.
Lucky: Elizabeth -- the point is sometimes things happen between two people, things that you can't plan.
Elizabeth: Okay, and it happened between you and Sarah. Fine, I get it.
Lucky: I'll always care about you, Elizabeth. Always. Now, I want you to be happy. That's as true now as it ever was and even if it is with Jason.
Elizabeth: Would you stop -- just stop talking, okay? I get it. You're free, I'm free. You're moving on and wishing me well -- I'm doing the same. It's way past time that both of us move on.
Lucky: Take care, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: You, too.
Elizabeth: Are you looking for me? Or are you returning to the scene of the crime? Please tell me you didn't do it. Tell me you didn't beat up Zander.
Ned: Do you really need to be down here in the middle of all this?
Alexis: Zander is in trouble and he needs my help.
Ned: What about what you need? You look exhausted.
Ned: Look, I don't mean to interfere. And maybe I am a little too overprotective like your sister keeps insisting. She thinks I'm too concerned about you, that I'm blowing things out of proportion.
Alexis: Yeah, well, I think you are because I can handle this myself.
Ned: No, but something was wrong when we brought you down here the other night when you fell.
Alexis: Yeah, I thought something was wrong, but it turns out that I was wrong.
Ned: Alexis, I know you, maybe too well. Now, I'm concerned. I'd like to help if you'd let me.
Alexis: There's a lot going on right now and a lot of it's happening all at once.
Carly: Alexis? How is Zander?
Alexis: He's in a lot of pain.
Carly: I'm going in to see him.
Alexis: May I have a word with you?
Alexis: Someone that I care about is lying in there, badly beaten. You said that you cared about Zander and that you wanted to protect him.
Sonny: That's true.
Alexis: Are you responsible for his beating?
Alexis: I'm not interested in creative semantics. Did you order it? Did you contribute to it in any way?
Sonny: Why would you think that?
Alexis: Well, because Zander, he's awake and he's lucid, and at some point, he might be seeking justice or revenge, and I wanted to start a defense assuming that you or your associates might be requiring legal attention.
Sonny: I'm not going to need you on this.
Alexis: You did it and you're not even sorry. You are cold-blooded and you are heartless. How in God's name could you do this to someone that you care about?
Ned: Can I take you home?
Alexis: Please. Get me out of here.
Elizabeth: Jason, I need to know. Are you the one who beat up Zander?
Jason: Maybe you should ask Zander.
Elizabeth: I did. He said he tripped and fell. Look, when you beat up Lucky, you said he came after you with a knife. I didn't believe you then. Of course, now I know the truth. I jumped to conclusions; I blamed you before I even heard your side. I don't want to do that again. So just tell me what happened. I promise -- I'll accept whatever you tell me.
Jason: Can you leave it alone?
Elizabeth: No! No -- I'm the one who called 911 for Zander. I found him laying there, Jason, right after you had walked away. You're the only one who could've done this. I just need to know there's a reason, an explanation -- something. I can deal with it, I swear. I just -- I need you to be honest with me, though. Just about everybody in my life who's important to me has lied to me, and I can't take that from you.
Jason: You want the truth? It's time for you to make a choice.
Lucky: Hey, Sarah. You got a minute?
Sarah: Yeah, sure. Is everything all right?
Lucky: I saw Elizabeth on the pier just a little while ago.
Lucky: And I had a genuine conversation with her for the first time. I talked to her about you and me and her, and I was honest with her, Sarah, which is what Elizabeth wants -- I'm convinced of that. That's all she's ever wanted.
Sarah: Yeah, well, I'm not so sure of that. I remember how well honesty went down the last time.
Lucky: Yeah, I'm just trying to make a situation better. You want a relationship with Elizabeth, don't you? Well, talking it out's a big step. I mean, this was a big step considering the mood that she was in when I first saw her.
Sarah: She was probably just worried about that guy Zander. She brought him into the E.R.
Lucky: What happened?
Sarah: He was attacked. It was pretty vicious.
Lucky: And Elizabeth was with him? She should know better than that. Everybody who gets close to that guy ends up getting hurt sooner or later. She should know that.
Sarah: Zander was the one hurt, Lucky.
Lucky: No, you don't know Zander. He used to deal drugs and he kidnapped Emily Quartermaine at gunpoint. And he walks around Port Charles talking about reform, but all of it's just a lie. What's Elizabeth doing with him in the first place?
Sarah: What do you care who she's with?
Lucky: I'm just concerned, that's all.
Carly: Hey, how do you feel?
Sonny: I'm sorry this had to happen, Zander. Make it worth something. Learn from it.
Zander: Yeah, I get it now.
Sonny: Yeah, good. I -- you don't have to worry about the medical expenses because I'm taking care of everything.
Taggert: You already took care of everything. Isn't that right, Sonny?
Carly: Why are you following us around?
Taggert: Do you want to tell her or should I? Okay. Well, apparently, your hus-- ex-- whatever -- he was a little upset with Zander here, so he sent Jason Morgan to deliver an unmistakable warning.
Carly: Don't you have anything better to do with your time? Would you look at him? Why are you coming here trying to make trouble?
Taggert: Trouble's already been made. Don't let Sonny get away with this, all right? I will guarantee your protection. You I.D. Jason Morgan, you testify Sonny was behind it, you will be protected. This is your chance, Mr. Smith. I suggest you take it. It could be your last. Merry Christmas.
Taggert: This man had you beaten. He thinks you're intimidated, that you're under his control. Now's your chance to show him you're not afraid, Zander.
Carly: You are out of your mind. Sonny had nothing to do with this, and Zander knows it.
Taggert: Think about it, Zander. You don't owe this man a damn thing, all right? You were loyal to him. This is how he repays you?
Carly: Sonny had Zander released when you and the rest of the pcpd had Zander locked up for a crime he didn't commit. And now, all of a sudden, you're his best friend? You're trying to use him, and Zander knows it, don't you, Zander?
Taggert: They left you on a dock. They dumped you like old garbage. You don't owe Sonny a damn thing.
Zander: Yeah, you're right about that. And I owe Jason Morgan even less. So you know what? What -- what the hell? You want to know what happened? I'll tell you. My eyes were opened. Sonny made everything really clear. With Jason back, there's no future for me working for Sonny. I gave him everything I had, just to be shut down when something better came along.
Taggert: Sonny's only loyal when it behooves him.
Zander: Yeah, you're right about that. I got ticked off. I got so mad, I couldn't even see straight. Which is exactly why I tripped and fell on the pier.
Taggert: You expect me to believe that?
Zander: Believe whatever the hell you want. I tripped and fell. That's all there is to it.
Taggert: I'll tell you what. We'll continue this conversation when the puppet master's not here to pull your strings.
Zander: Come back as much as you want. The story's still going to be the same.
Taggert: You are a sorrier fool than I thought.
Carly: I am so sorry, Zander. So sorry. About a lot of things.
Bobbie: Oh, it has to be here somewhere.
Laura: No, we've looked every place it could possibly be.
Bobbie: Oh. Well, you know, maybe it's not gone. Maybe you just misplaced it, you know? I mean, you are a little distracted because of the wedding.
Laura: I know. I do have a lot on my mind, but it just -- that still doesn't explain this feeling that I've got.
Bobbie: Well, could you be overreacting?
Laura: Well, yes, I suppose I could be. But I am not reacting to nothing, you know? And generally, my feelings are pretty accurate.
Bobbie: Well, you know, then just keep in mind it's just a ring. I mean, it's metal and stone. And you know what? Nobody's hurt, nobody's sick, nobody's missing. Everybody's fine.
Laura: You're right. I know.
Bobbie: And you know what? We'll find it. And if we don't find it, you'll buy another one, or you could get another one custom made. I think Luke would be fine with that.
Laura: I know you're right. You know, I know this sounds a little bit crazy, but we're so close to getting everything we ever wanted, I can't help but feel that something's going to go wrong, that it's all going to be snatched away from us, you know? And the scary part is that I think that Luke is feeling that, too.
Helena: You're not afraid being alone here with a dangerous criminal like me?
Luke: Afraid? No. I've always considered our time alone extremely romantic.
Helena: Fear can be quite the aphrodisiac.
Luke: Yeah. It's always gotten my juices flowing.
Helena: Oh, you did miss me, didn't you? Tell me, how are the wedding plans coming? Oh, surely you didn't imagine that I would try to interfere in any way. I told you, I'm finished with that.
Luke: Yes, you've told me a lot of things. Some of them, amazingly enough, were even true. Don't worry about the wedding. I'll send you an invitation as soon as they're back from the engravers.
Helena: Believe me, I fervently hope that the wedding goes off exactly as planned. No, it'll be everything that you expect. The only mystery is why it hasn't happened yet. Is all that initial rush of excitement waning? The powerful passion dissipating? That could explain your presence here.
Luke: You. You know me so well.
Helena: We are two of a kind, my darling.
Luke: Two rats in a maze. But we've had some fun now and then, haven't we?
Helena: Now, my only regret is hearing you refer to it in the past tense.
Luke: Oh, it's not all past. But there were some great times. I remember specifically that time that I came on to the yacht in the middle of the night, found you alone in bed.
Helena: Tell me more.
Luke: What's to tell? There you were -- I thought. I looked down at you sleeping like a fallen angel. I wanted nothing more than to just slip under those covers and -- well, you know. Do you remember?
Helena: Well, I think I do. In fact, I think I remember it vividly. It was a fabulous night.
Luke: Wasn't it? But when I got under the covers, you weren't there. Just a wig, some carefully placed pillows. Imagine my surprise when I turned around to find you behind me with that gleaming, aluminum spear gun pointed at my chest.
Helena: Oh. Oh, that was wonderful.
Luke: But it never happened, not like that. Who are you? Who are you? Where is Helena Cassadine?
Luke: Come on, lady. Where is Helena?
Woman: I don't know where she is. She could be somewhere in Europe. She's very fond of Switzerland. No extradition treaties there.
Luke: Switzerland? Okay, where in Switzerland specifically? Where?
Woman: I can't be specific, I don't know.
Luke: You better know. You don't want the kind of trouble I can get for you in here. I have connections. This may well be the end of your life.
Woman: It is anyway.
Luke: What are you saying?
Woman: I'm dying. Oh, why else do you think I'd be going through this?
Luke: So she got you to go to prison and die for her?
Woman: Ooh, how succinct. Not to mention brutal. Helena and I are cousins.
Luke: Identical cousins. You talk alike, you walk alike, you even lie alike.
Helena's cousin: Ah, but I was much prettier. Though, she had our differences changed surgically so we could deceive even you.
Luke: I'm flattered. All those plots and plans and all that trouble just for little old me.
Jason: You have to decide what you want.
Elizabeth: What does that have to do with whether or not you put Zander in the hospital?
Jason: I'm not going to answer you. Elizabeth, you knew that before you asked me.
Elizabeth: I know, I know. I -- all I'm asking is that you're honest with me.
Jason: I said as much as I'm going to. Now you need to decide if that's enough. You know who I am and what I do. And there's always going to be reasons, and I don't explain them and I can't. Not even to you. If you can't accept that, I understand. But it's how my life works. So you get to decide whether or not you want to be my friend. I can't choose for you.
Alexis: You were right, okay?
Ned: Alexis, why don't we sit down?
Alexis: You want to make me say it, I can say it. I never thought that Sonny was capable of doing what he did tonight.
Ned: Well, now at least you know the truth.
Alexis: I knew what Sonny did for a living. So why am I so surprised?
Ned: Well, because you wanted to believe that he was better than that.
Alexis: He sat there on that couch -- he sat there and he told me that he believed that Zander was his family. He told me -- he swore to me that he would never hold anything over on Zander, so why am I so stupid?
Ned: Sonny Corinthos is a world-class manipulator. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so successful at what he does.
Alexis: I know what he does. I just refused to look. All I had to do was open up my eyes. It was right in front of me. You saw it -- everybody saw it, so what's wrong with me? I swear to you that I would never have believed that he could do something to someone that he cares about. I would never have believed in him if I thought that he could do that.
Ned: We'll talk about it later, okay? Come on. We'll get something to eat.
Alexis: You have no idea how much I needed this right now. I just need someone to talk to.
Ned: I know.
Carly: Don't -- don't. Don't you touch me. How could you? You had Zander beat up because he wanted to go to bed with me? That was my fault, Sonny, not his! I went to him because I wanted to get back at you.
Sonny: Come on.
Carly: Don't -- don't.
Sonny: I don't owe you any explanation.
Carly: Oh, yeah. That's right, the great Sonny Corinthos, he does whatever he wants, and everybody else has to take his orders!
Sonny: I'll tell you. I will -- I will tell you. I will explain myself. I'll tell you everything that happened.
Sonny: Because you're back in my life and I want you to know.
Sonny: Zander went behind my back. He sold me out to my enemies, gave them information to use against me. He should be dead. If it was anybody else, he would be.
Carly: Zander sold you out?
Sonny: That's right.
Carly: He was hurt. He didn't know what he was doing, because if he did, he never would have done that.
Sonny: That's why I let him off with a warning. Nobody who does that should be allowed to live, you know? It's my business. It's how I survive. The only reason I made an exception for Zander is because I know he matters to you, and I knew that you would blame yourself. I didn't want you to be hurt. There's not going to be anymore exceptions. This is, you know, my life. I can't change it. So if you want to walk, now's the time. Because we're not going to have this conversation again.
Laura: It's gone.
Bobbie: Well, you know, maybe it's not even in the house. Maybe you lost it outside somewhere, like on the porch or in the driveway.
Laura: Yeah, I suppose that's possible. I mean, it could have fallen off my finger. But, see, I would never have taken it off and just left it somewhere. And it can't vanish. So somebody had to come and take it.
Bobbie: Well, look, the important thing is you have Luke and he has you.
Laura: But first, my wedding dress, and now my ring?
Bobbie: Well, yeah, it is a coincidence, but maybe that's all it is.
Laura: No, Bobbie. I don't believe in coincidences. Something is wrong.
Luke: Well, you got to hand it to Helena -- she is brilliant. All this time, she's had you waiting in the wings to take the fall for her if things got too tight.
Helena's cousin: You'll never prove it.
Luke: I don't have to prove it. I just have to find her.
Carly: I don't want to walk away. I spent the whole year trying to do it, and I only got as far as the other side of town. I understand how your life works. And I'm not afraid of it anymore. You do things to survive, and I accept it because I love you.
Alexis: I'm sorry. I just need someone to lean on, and I shouldn't be leaning on you.
Ned: That's okay. It's no problem.
Alexis: I'm all right, really.
Ned: I'm sure you will be. But you're also not invulnerable. You had a lot of illusions destroyed today. And that's going to take a little time to process.
Alexis: Would you do me a favor and not talk to Kristina about this?
Ned: Yeah. This isn't about Kristina, it's about you. And I care about you, and I want to help you any way I can -- even if that means saying nothing at all.
Alexis: Thank you. I'm okay.
Ned: Somehow, I knew you'd say that.
Ned: We'll talk?
Alexis: There's always good news and there's bad news. The bad news is your father will never know the value of doing the right thing. And the good news is that I do.
Alexis: I'm right with you.
Alexis: It's nice to know you, little one. And we're on our own.
Lucky: Hey, Sarah. Hey. Why'd you walk off before?
Sarah: I got paged.
Lucky: No -- you're upset because I'm worried about Elizabeth. I mean, what can I say? It's habit.
Sarah: Fine, Lucky, okay.
Lucky: I'm always going to be concerned about Elizabeth. You're going to have to understand that.
Sarah: Yes, Lucky, I do. The fact that Elizabeth might be with Zander really bothered you. That sounds like jealousy to me.
Lucky: Well, you don't know Zander. He's involved in some really bad stuff.
Sarah: It's not up to you anymore, Lucky. Don't you get that? You don't have anything to say about who Elizabeth is with anymore.
Elizabeth: You have always been a good friend to me. They're not easy to find anymore. And you have always been honest with me, no matter what. I don't want to lose that. I don't want to lose you. So that's my decision. I want you in my life.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Maxie: Mom and I were talking about you. One of us has the hots for you.
Laura: What if it's Helena?
Carly: I need a little help.
Jason: What'd you do?
Carly: It's what I'm about to do.
Alexis: I'm moving out of the penthouse at the end of the month.
Sonny: Does it have anything to do with Carly?
