Gia: I'll help you get away.

Sharifa: That is the video that fell into my lap.

Sonny: We need to face this for Michael’s sake. Carly might be dead.

Zander: I put Carly in that car just as much as you and Sonny.

Jax: This is not your fault.

Alexis: Yes, it is.

Luke: The body they pulled out of the lake is Carly.

Bobbie: No! No!

Zander: I'm here to say goodbye to you.

Nikolas: Ready?

Gia: Yes.

Nikolas: There's one. There's two.

Gia: Thank you. If I keep this up, I'm not going to be able to walk.

Nikolas: Oh, poor baby. You know what? I got to get some work done before we go to Carly's funeral, but we have enough time for a hot bath if you're interested.

Gia: Oh? Sounds interesting.

Nikolas: Yeah? Good. Then let's go.

Gia: Oh, please be careful.

Sharifa: Okay. Where was I?

[Door opens]

Gia: What are you doing at Nikolas' computer?

Sharifa: You caught me red-handed.

A.J.: I'm here. What are you so anxious to discuss?

Edward: Well, little Michael, of course.

A.J.: Oh.

Edward: Carly's death is a -- is a real tragedy, but the only thing that is good about it at all is it gives us a chance to get her son back in this family.

A.J.: Way ahead of you.

Edward: Hmm?

A.J.: I know exactly how to stick it to Sonny. I'm taking Courtney to Carly's funeral.

Alan: How many nurses have expressed interest in attending? Well, then, just the funeral, not the wake, Audrey. Thank you. Are those for Bobbie?

Monica: Yes, I wanted to bring her something. I feel so helpless. I don't know what to do.

Alan: Well, what we mustn't do is bring up the issue of this painful custody. I've been trying to impress that upon Father.

A.J.: I will persuade Courtney that it would be a supportive gesture towards Sonny to attend Carly's funeral.

Monica: Excuse me? A.J., you’re not going anywhere near that funeral.

Bobbie: I almost said "Good morning." Well, the caterers you sent did a beautiful job. I was going to prepare for the wake myself, but so many of our friends brought flowers and food. You took care of everything.

Sonny: I hope I wasn't intruding. I just -- I didn't want you to have to deal with it.

Bobbie: You know, it used to drive Carly crazy the way you would step in and control things. But, in a way, she loved it, too. I think she adored having someone so powerful and attentive taking care of her. For all the fighting you two did, Carly always knew she could count on you.

Sonny: I wanted to take care of Carly. I never wanted anything I did to hurt her.

Alexis: Yeah, I'm the attorney for Carly Corinthos' trustee. Right, Mrs. Corinthos' ex-husband, who's the surviving legal parent, is -- oh, yeah, she has a son. It would be really helpful if we could finalize the death certificate as soon as possible so Mr. Corinthos can act freely regarding decisions about the little boy. Right. Where -- okay. Thank you very much.

Kristina: I picked up yours, too.

Alexis: Thanks.

Kristina: I figured you might want to wear the single-breasted black suit to Carly's funeral.

Alexis: What I need to do is find the trustee order for Carly's will because Sonny is Michael’s sole trustee. He also manages a trust that Jason set up, and if I can combine the two --

Kristina: Why are you doing this right now?

Alexis: Well, because if I can combine the two, it's easier to manage one trust than two.

Kristina: Alexis, why are you doing this right now?

Alexis: Because I need to do something and I don't know what to do, so --

Kristina: So you're planning on working instead of going to Carly's funeral?

Alexis: I think that would be best, yeah.

Kristina: Best for who? What about Sonny? Don't you think that Sonny is going to need you right now?

Gia: Nikolas will be real interested to know that his new friend was searching through his computer.

Sharifa: Hey, I thought this was, like, the public room. I mean, I'm just checking my e-mail.

Gia: Uh-huh. Well, out of respect for Nikolas, maybe you should ask his permission first.

Sharifa: Now who sounds like someone's grandmother?

Gia: No, I sound like the fiancée of a guy who is letting you stay in this mansion rent-free.

Sharifa: Okay. Look, you won't see me anywhere near that computer again. Okay?

Alexis: I don't want to intrude on Carly's family's grief. I think it was no secret that Carly and I weren’t the best of friends.

Kristina: Well, what about what Sonny's going through?

Alexis: I think helping Bobbie and Sonny through a legal situation and making it easier for them is the only thing that I have to contribute here.

Kristina: Alexis, Carly's death was not your fault.

Alexis: I don't belong at her funeral.

Kristina: Carly's death was not your fault.

Alexis: I know what happened to Carly and why and who's to blame, and there's nothing else to say.

Kristina: Well, if that's the way you want it. I got to go over to l&B. Promise me you're not going to work too hard?

Alexis: I promise.

Kristina: Oh, hey.

Zander: Is Alexis here?

Kristina: Yeah. I was just going to head over to l&b, but do you need me to stay here?

Zander: No, I need to speak to Alexis.

Kristina: All right. Well, call me if you need me, both of you.

Zander: Thanks.

Zander: Wyndham's sent over this suit to my room. I tried to figure out who would send me a suit except for Carly, and she's -- well -- then I figured it must've been you. Probably figured that the only suit I had was the one that I wore at my trial and it's wrecked. So you wanted me to have something nice for the funeral, is that right?

Alexis: Yeah.

Zander: Who's this supposed to make feel better, Alexis? You, who Carly found in bed with the man she loved, or me, who sent her away and, because of that, she died?

Sonny: Is Michael home?

Bobbie: I -- I asked Leticia to take him to the park. I haven't told him yet. And I just thought it would be a good idea for him to be away from here today.

Sonny: You know, Bobbie, we're going to -- we're going to have to tell him soon before somebody else does.

Bobbie: I know. But you know he's going to insist that we're wrong. He's going to say he saw Carly in the back yard.

Sonny: Yeah, well, we're just going to have to convince him otherwise, or, you know, he's just going to go on waiting for her, and eventually he's going to think he did something wrong and that's why she left. I know how that works. I don't -- I don't -- I don't want that for Michael.

Bobbie: Okay. Okay. I know you're right. I mean, I know we have to tell him. I just -- I haven't figured out how to do it.

Sonny: Do you want me to tell him? I mean, I'm his sole parent now.

Bobbie: I'm very grateful for that. I am so grateful it's you and not A.J. Can you imagine what A.J. would like to be telling Michael right now? Scott resigned as his attorney -- although I'm sure A.J.'S already gotten someone else to drag us into court to fight for custody of Michael.

Sonny: That's not going to happen.

Bobbie: I know. Alexis is an excellent attorney. She's been very loyal, very supportive of you. And I know she will find a way so that Michael can be with people who love him.

Sonny: She'll do whatever it takes, yeah.

Bobbie: Thanks to Alexis, you are Michael’s legal parent and A.J. is not going to have a chance to interfere.

Taggert: Call this undercover -- waiting for me where I live?

Sharifa: Your little sister and her fiancé are on the island, okay? Look, Gia caught me on Nikolas' computer today. I covered, but I don't think she bought it. That videotape may be the last evidence I can get.

Taggert: The case we're building is against Nikolas.

Sharifa: Marcus, your sister is on that tape acting alone.

Taggert: I'm not backing down from this investigation, and I'm not switching my focus. The evidence we need is against Nikolas, not Gia. At worst, she's an accessory.

Sharifa: Is that -- is that Taggert the cop talking or Marcus, Gia's big brother?

Elizabeth: I'm here because I'm looking for my necklace. I think Mrs. Lansbury didn't pack it when she was packing my things.

Nikolas: Well, I'm just glad to -- to see you. I miss you, you know, and I hate this distance between us. I hate the mistrust that's in your eyes.

Elizabeth: Me, too. But you know what? I've learned something from breaking up with Lucky. You can't go back. You can't make people into who they used to be.

Nikolas: I'm your friend, Elizabeth, and I always will be. I just hope someday you -- you believe that, you know? Well, you know where your old room is. It's good to see you.

Gia: You know what? I am sick of your high and mighty act, Miss Perfect. I am so ready to slap you down off your pedestal once and for all.

Zander: I'm not interested in making you feel better for what you did.

Alexis: That wasn't my intention, Zander. I meant it as a gift. I know you care about Carly and --

Zander: Oh, how in God's name could you know how I felt about Carly when I didn't? There were times when I thought Carly was the best fried I ever had, and there were times when she drove me crazy. You know, in some ways, we were completely alike. In other ways, we were total opposites. But I wrecked things with Carly. I made it about sex, and there was no way the friendship could survive. If I would have just been her friend that night instead of letting my feelings get away, I could have talked her down. But instead I was too busy feeling used, and I tried to make our friendship into something that it was not supposed to be, and because of that now she is dead!

Alexis: Zander, Carly loved Sonny. She stormed into your apartment because she wanted to get back at him, and you knew that. And you turned her down because you were trying to help her --

Zander: No, no, no, Alexis, I let her leave when she was upset. Now, you and I both owed Carly. Do you remember when Sorel held us hostage? He was going to kill us, and she saved our lives. And how did we repay her? By you sleeping with the man that she loved and me throwing her out when she needed me most. I'm sorry, Alexis. That was a cheap shot and -- I know you didn't like Carly, but you never tried to push her away and -- you know, Sonny and Carly were how they were, and Sonny was divorced. You had every right to sleep with him. I'm just -- I'm just mad at myself, and I'm -- I'm taking it out on you, and that's wrong. I'm sorry.

Alexis: It's obvious that Carly cared a great deal about you, and I know -- I'm sure she wouldn't want you to blame yourself.

Zander: Well, thanks for the suit.

Sonny: I agree that Michael shouldn't be at the funeral. Let him spend the day with Leticia. I'll come by tomorrow and tell him about Carly. I'd like you to be part of it. It might reassure Michael to hear about -- you know -- from the both of us. But I understand if you can't do it. I mean, I'm --

Bobbie: None of this seems real to me. But I agree that we have to tell Michael. I'll support whatever you want to do because you are his family now.

Sonny: I haven't even considered where he should live or --

Bobbie: No, I haven't, either, but you and I will be able to work something out together.

Sonny: Yeah.

Bobbie: Sonny?

Sonny: Yeah?

Bobbie: You're a good father. You're wonderful. And if you want him with you, I understand.

Sonny: Okay, Bobbie, I'll think about it. Um -- I got to get to the funeral. I'll see you there, okay?

Bobbie: Okay.

Sonny: All right.

Bobbie: Carly loved you very much, and I know why. You're a good man.

Sonny: Carly loved you, too.

Luke: Hey.

Sonny: Wow. Who sent those?

Man: There's a card.

Sonny: Yeah?

Luke: Somebody sent a funereal forest.

Sonny: They're from A.J. Quartermaine.

Sonny: I want these flowers destroyed, not used as another arrangement or given to anybody else. I want them burned, shredded, thrown in the garbage. Am I making myself clear?

Man: Yes, Sir. I'll take care of it.

Luke: A.J. hitting the bottle now, or is he just trying to insult my sister on the day she buries her daughter?

Sonny: A.J. thinks he's invulnerable. He thinks because he's married to my sister, he believes he can't be touched.

Luke: Oh, I can touch him. And if he messes with her anymore, I'll be happy to do it.

Sonny: Those were directed at me. He's goading me.

Luke: What's he trying to do, get you to show up at his door with a baseball bat, beat him to death in front of witnesses?

Sonny: Yeah, something like that.

Luke: Well, if you decide to, I'll hold your coat. And if he messes with her anymore, I'll be the one with the bat in my hand.

Sonny: Be my guest.

Luke: Look, I'm sorry this thing happened, but since it did, I am glad that you're the son-in-law that Bobbie’s left with because I know you'll do right by her. I know you'll make sure her grandson stays close and you will honor the memory of her daughter.

Sonny: I appreciate your faith.

A.J.: Of course we're going to Carly's funeral. It's appropriate. She was the mother of my son. My wife is Sonny's sister. It's only right to extend our condolences.

Alan: What about the possibility that Sonny could lose it and attack you?

Edward: Huh. So much the better. Sonny can prove to a church full of witnesses that he is an unreliable thug, and we will get little Michael back here all that much sooner.

Monica: A.J., Bobbie is one of my dearest friends. She has just lost her child. Now, I'm not going to allow you to exploit her grief or use that funeral in some sort of destructive maneuver --

Edward: No, no, listen. What's destructive is the way this boy --

Monica: Shut up, Edward. A.J., you promise me you will not go to that funeral.

A.J.: No problem. You think it'll be difficult for Bobbie, we'll stay away from the funeral.

Monica: Thank you.

A.J.: I'll let Courtney know.

Alan: And you are not to raise the subject of Michael, either at the funeral or the wake.

Monica: He may be too young to go, but if he is there --

Edward: Don't tell me that I can't walk across the room and say hello to my only great-grandson.

Alan: I'll keep an eye on him. And thank you for the stand you took with A.J.

Monica: Well, there wasn't anything else to do. He has to respect Bobbie’s grief.

Gia: Where the hell do you get off looking down your nose at Nikolas? You know, if he doesn't measure up to your lofty standards, well, that's just too damn bad. I'm glad to have him.

Elizabeth: Sure you are, now that you've cut him off from his friends and family. You know what? I know exactly what happened with Helena. She went after you, didn't she? Somehow she found out about the accident and threatened to expose you, and then Nikolas jumps in to protect you and lost everything that matters to him. You did this to him, Gia. But you know what? What goes around comes around, and eventually you'll pay. I'm sure of it.

Alexis: "I, Caroline Corinthos, appoint Michael Corinthos Jr., my former husband, as sole trustee in the event of my incapacitation or death."

Carly's voice: You know what, Alexis? You do not know him -- the good or the bad. You know, you can't possibly know what he carries inside him -- all those things. And what he is going through right now and feeling -- you don't know these things.

[Knock on door]

Felicia: Hi.

Roy: Hi there.

Felicia: Are you getting some afternoon sun?

Roy: Yeah. I'm just giving Bobbie a minute with Luke.

Felicia: Oh.

Roy: I figure she needs a brother right now more than a well-meaning friend offering condolence.

Felicia: Well, in that case, maybe I'd better just hang out here with you.

Roy: Yeah, why don't you?

Felicia: Besides, it's nice. The sun feels nice and warm.

Roy: Yeah.

Felicia: The air smells like spring. Doesn't it?

Roy: It's a beautiful day.

Felicia: Yes. I get so busy sometimes with car pool and all the cases that I'm working on and being a parent to a teenager that I forget just what a gift it is to be alive.

Roy: I hear you.

Felicia: I remember when Maxie got her heart. And I was forced to leave the hospital because it was about 4:00 in the morning, and we were walking through the park. And it smelled so good -- the spring air. And I remember thinking how safe I felt with her there in the hospital, Barbara Jean’s heart beating inside of her. And then I started thinking about Bobbie and how hard it must be to not be able to see her ever again. Not be able to look into her face or hear her little voice. And it's happened again. It's happened to her again. I don't know if she's going to be able to bear it.

Roy: You know, Felicia, she told me all about that. It helped her so much to know that B.J. had made it possible for Maxie to live. You know, I'm sure it helps her still, just to see you with your girls.

Felicia: I owe her everything. I owe her every day I have with Maxie. I just hope there's something I can do to help her through all this.

Luke: Here -- sit down, sit down, sit down. Take a load off. Just settle for a minute, will you, please? That's better. Just relax for a second.

Bobbie: It was very thoughtful of Sonny to send over a caterer, but I really wish he hadn't because I need something to do. You know, I -- I need something to think about besides the fact that I'm getting ready to go to my daughter's funeral.

Luke: We don't have to have the wake here. We could do it at the club.

Bobbie: Thank you, but no. Because Carly always hated your club.

Luke: Carly hated everything about me.

Bobbie: No, she didn't. But she was difficult and so are you, which only proves that you're family.

Bobbie: Do you remember when I told you I was pregnant? I was so scared. I was 15 years old. And I knew from the start that I would never be able to raise my baby. I knew that I would have to give it up. And when I held her in those few minutes after she was born, I remember looking at her, trying to store up every precious detail about her because I knew that that memory had to last the rest of my life. And then, years later, there she was. And isn't it ironic that the last woman on earth I wanted for a daughter turned out to be everything I ever dreamed of? I just find it impossible to believe that Carly could leave my life as abruptly as she came into it. And I keep waiting for the grief to hit, the sense of finality, that it's ended, like I had with B.J. But it won't come. It's as if Carly has grabbed on and is keeping her place in my life. It's as if she's still present.

Luke: You know, most of the time she was a colossal pain in the butt. But she was a true Spencer. She pushed the boundaries, challenged the limits, never accepted any form of so-called authority. She gave 'em hell, Bobbie. She did you proud.

Bobbie: Yeah, she did. I am very proud of her. I need you, Luke. I need you to help me get through today because I can't -- I can't do this by myself.

Luke: You don't have to. I'm here. I'm holding onto you, and I will not let you go.

Sonny: I -- I just saw Bobbie at the brownstone.

Alexis: How is she?

Sonny: She -- you know, she's fighting it. She's -- she's telling herself it's -- it's a bad dream and she'll wake up. She hasn't told Michael that Carly's gone yet. I mean, he's spending the day with Leticia, and I'm going to have to do it tomorrow. I just don't know -- you know, I don't know how I'm going to do it but -- what I'm going to say, I don't think it's going to matter because he's -- he's not really going to understand.

Alexis: Well, you just need to reassure him that he's not going to lose you, too.

Sonny: That's why I'm here.

Alexis: A.J. is going to attempt to have the adoption revoked, but he's not going to be able to do that because it's legal and it's signed. He did -- he signed away his parental rights. And I'm taking steps now to protect you as the custodial parent.

Sonny: Thanks, but that's not what I meant. I don't handle death well. I basically don't handle it at all, and that's wrong, I know. I mean -- I can't really do it this time, you know? I mean, I hurt the people around me to hurt myself. I push them away and I shut down. I cannot shut down on Michael or on you. You matter to me, and if I ever act like you don't, you need to call me on it, okay? Because at this time I -- I just need you, you know, around, and -- so if -- unless, you know, you decide you don't want me around or something. I don't know. You know what I'm trying to say.

Alexis: That's highly unlikely. Can I get you anything? Do you want some coffee? I mean, I can let you make it.

Sonny: No, no. I got to make some arrangements. I got -- you coming to this funeral?

Alexis: I don't think so. I just don't think it's the right thing to do.

Sonny: I understand.

[Knock on door]

Gia: Marcus. What are you doing here?

Felicia: Chocolate chip cookie?

Roy: No, thanks.

Luke: No, thank you. Bobbie's already stuffed me full of food. Why is it when somebody dies women think everybody else in the family is suddenly starving?

Felicia: It's just a chocolate chip cookie. I don't know how else to help.

Roy: Is -- is Lucky going to the funeral?

Luke: Yeah. Why?

Roy: Well, I'll get him to help me if A.J. causes any trouble. That way you can stay with Bobbie.

Luke: Good idea.

Felicia: Going to be a strange group of people between Bobbie’s friends and Sonny's associates.

Bobbie: And Carly would've liked that. My daughter liked things noisy and complicated and all about her.

Felicia: Yeah, she did. What can I do for you, hmm?

Bobbie: Actually, I've made a decision, and I'm going to need help from all of you.

Sonny: I'm supposed to tell Michael that you're -- that you're dead tomorrow. I don't know how to find the words to explain the unthinkable. I mean, I think I'm probably just going to tell him that you're in heaven with the angels. Which might be a little bit of an exaggeration because if -- if the nuns were right and you go to purgatory first to pay for what you did on earth, that means you're going to -- you're going to be there a little while. But you're going to get to heaven eventually because God not only sees what you do, he sees why you do it. He sees your heart. And in your heart, you always acted out of love. Screwed up, crazy, wrong-headed, but who am I to criticize? I mean, that's how I loved, too. That's why we worked. That's why you died. It's too late to fix that and it's too late to give you everything that I always wanted. It's too late to say everything I wanted to say to you, but I'm going to say it now anyway. So maybe in purgatory you can hear them and then you can smile a little bit.

Sonny: I respect you, Carly. I think you're smart and loyal and you have great instincts. You're the bravest person I know and the bravest person I'll ever meet. I forgive you -- every screw-up, every lie -- and I hope to God you forgive me someday. I love you, Carly. And I am sorry I had to get shot to say it the first time, and I'm sorry I didn't get to say it the last time. But I love you. And I won’t fail you. You said you wanted Michael safe from A.J., and he will be, so help me God.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Taggert: I am taking you to Brooklyn, Gia.

Gia: No possible way.

Bobbie: That is not my daughter!

Luke: The D.N.A. matched.

Felicia: You're not going to the funeral?

A.J.: Life here will never be the same now that you're gone.

Sonny: Are you finished?
