Nikolas: The one thing I will not do is run. We're not going anywhere.

Sarah: What do you want, Lucky?

Courtney: He's my husband! We were married today. He's my husband.

Skye: A.J's not interested in you. He's only getting back at your brother.

A.J.: You want your sister back, don't you? Want to hear my proposal?

Lucky: I'm sorry. Sarah, I guess I --

Sarah: Don't be. I wanted it to happen.

Nikolas: Elizabeth, please wait.

Elizabeth: I was looking for Lucky. He's obviously not here.

Nikolas: I -- I want to speak to you.

Elizabeth: You know, he was pretty shaken up after he left Lukeís. Not that I blame him, I mean, with you and Gia showing up uninvited. Oh, that's right. You were just thinking about yourselves.

Nikolas: Hear me out please? I think that you at least owe me that.

Elizabeth: I owe you? Since when? Gia really did a number on you, Nikolas. Lying about the accident, helping Helena escape. I don't owe you a thing.

Nikolas: How about a chance to apologize?

Alan: Monica. Monica. Monica, what the hell is going on?

Monica: A.J.

Alan: Oh, my God. How?

Monica: Sonny Corinthos. But you shouldn't be surprised. I am not, however, completely sure that A.J. is dead yet.

Alan: Is this some kind of a sick joke?

Monica: More like a trial run, thanks to your indifference and self-absorption.

Alan: What the hell are you talking about?

Monica: I asked you to come with me to intervene with A.J. and Sonny Corinthos' sister, but you refused, remember?

Alan: I told you to go on your own, and nobody stopped you!

Monica: Well, it was too late, Alan. He had already left the St. Ana's hotel for God knows where. So now Sonny Corinthos will be the first to find him and you will have your son's death on your shoulders!

A.J.: Awfully quiet all of a sudden. Maybe you don't understand. It's very simple, really. You have something of mine. I have something of yours. Proposing an even trade -- your sister for my son. Deal of a lifetime, wouldn't you say?

Courtney: What none of you seem to understand is that I love A.J. and he loves me. And we are husband and wife now, and there isn't anything that any of you can do about it. So if you're here to try, just leave.

Alexis: Courtney, a lot of people came here on your behalf. We just want to make sure that everything works out all right for you.

Courtney: It already has. I'm married and I don't need any of you telling me how to think or how to feel or anything else.

Ned: Well, I can't speak for everyone, but -- it's not my intention. I would like to stay, though, if only to make sure that you don't become the quickest widow on record.

A.J.: I'm prepared to go in there right now, Sonny, end it all. I've got a petition already drawn up, legally reinstating me as Michaelís father. Of course, Carly would have to consent, but I know how persuasive you can be. Not that I won't miss your sister. We've had a really great time. Really great. Especially the honeymoon.

Sonny: You really do want to die, don't you?

A.J.: Now, why would I want to die? Life is good. I finally have the upper hand. You thought you'd get away with it, didn't you? You really did. You thought that you could steal my son, adopt him, and cut me out? This is about family, flesh and blood, a real father and son -- something you wouldn't know anything about, Sonny. Now, like I said, I'll go in there right now and I'll end the whole thing. I will annul the marriage. Yeah, I'll hurt her -- maybe. But the bright side is you'll be the big shot. Her big brother was right all along. I'm the creep that you all warned her I am. Come on, man. I'll go in there right now. I'll even tell her that I used her and it was all about revenge on you. But the price tag is Michael. You return my son to me.

Alexis: We're all a little confused right now. And as comfortable as I am -- well, I think we're all uncomfortable about this -- but I think it's better if nobody left until we've made sure that you are safe.

Courtney: Safe?

Ned: In the meantime, I guess that makes you my cousin-in-law, right? Would anyone mind if I tried to make the best of the situation?

Courtney: Please, somebody do that.

Skye: What's going on out there?

Jax: It's not good. And it's not going to get any better.

A.J.: Just so we're straight, I'm not talking about visitation and weekends. I'm talking full custody, Sonny. And don't worry. I will allow Carly to remain in Michaelís life for his sake. But you? No way. Your adoption -- revoked. And now here's the best part. And this is a deal breaker, my friend. I want to watch while you bring my son home to me, and I want to hear you say, "Michael, this is your father. You're going to be living with him now." You got that? If I don't hear that, if those words don't come out of your mouth, deal's off. And your sister is going to be mine, sharing my bed.

Sonny: You'd better stop right there.

A.J.: Oh, I hit a nerve? You held my son hostage in your life. Well, I guess now I'm holding Courtney hostage in mine. You say I can't face you? Well, I'm facing you right now, aren't I? So you better face me. What's it going to be, my son or your sister?

Nikolas: You're afraid of me now?

Elizabeth: Try suspicious, disappointed, feeling used and betrayed. But afraid? No.

Nikolas: Then will you at least listen to me, please? I am so sorry. Really, I am. I love Lucky, Elizabeth, and I love you, too. You know that.

Elizabeth: Oh, I know you did at one point. But now?

Nikolas: This is my fault, yes. And if I could go back and change it or undo it in any way, I would. You got to help me, please. How do I make this up to you?

Elizabeth: You want me to tell you what to do?

Nikolas: Listen. Look, everything around me is spinning out of control, and I am -- I am barely hanging on. I'm having dreams at night now, you know -- look at me, please. This is true -- of my father congratulating me on turning out to be just like him. And it's scaring the hell out of me. I can't sleep --

Elizabeth: Oh, Nikolas, please --

Nikolas: Elizabeth, please, listen to me. Let me finish. I lay awake and I stare at the ceiling. And I ask myself how in the hell I got where I am, how I surrounded myself with all this anger and all these lies. You know, what happened to my family, my friends, the people I love, the people I counted on?

Elizabeth: You know what you did. You know how I feel about it, and you know how Lucky feels about it. You must, right? We used to be close.

Nikolas: So you don't know me anymore? You won't even let me -- let me get near you?

Elizabeth: Oh, that's not even the point.

Nikolas: It is the point, Elizabeth. You know, it's -- no matter what you think I've done --

Elizabeth: That's the point, Nikolas, right there. You can't even admit to it. You just keep lying and dodging. God, Nikolas, what happened to you?

Nikolas: Elizabeth, no one hates themselves more than I hate myself right now. No one is angrier with the things I've done. No one is more afraid.

Elizabeth: Well, I don't know what you expect me to do about it because I can't change what happened, either.

Nikolas: No, you can't, you canít. And I can't go back on it, either. But you can certainly change what happens next.

Lucky: So, what -- what are you telling me? Are you telling me you felt this way, too?

Sarah: That night at the stables during the rainstorm -- that's when I knew. And then again at Elizabethís studio.

Lucky: God! You know -- I didn't think I could be any more of a jerk where Elizabethís concerned. This is a hell of a way to start.

Sarah: You know what happens if she finds out. Elizabeth already thinks that you can't love her the way you used to. Lucky, this would kill her.

Lucky: How'd this happen?

Sarah: It's nothing that we intended. But that wouldn't matter to my sister.

Lucky: How is she going to react? How is she going to react when I tell her?

Sarah: No, Lucky, you can't tell her.

Elizabeth: Why do I have to fix anything?

Nikolas: You're the only chance that we might have.

Elizabeth: And what makes you think I would even want to?

Nikolas: Because you know how much it means to Lucky and to me to stay brothers. He listens to you, Elizabeth. Please help him get past all this anger. That's all I want. I just want to work this out. I want my brother back.

Elizabeth: Oh. Oh, so this whole big apology was about getting me to fix things for you with Lucky?

Nikolas: No, no, no. No, absolutely not. I -- I -- listen -- look at me, please. I want to work things out with the both of you. I do. You tell me how to do it, and I will.

Elizabeth: I don't know! I don't know. Because we're all hurt, Nikolas. Not just you.

Nikolas: I know.

Elizabeth: Lucky counted on you. He went from hating the very sight of you to trusting you more than anyone in the world. He feels completely betrayed. Now, you tell me how he's supposed to get past that.

Nikolas: Elizabeth, but you're the only chance that we might have. Please, please, give us that chance.

Elizabeth: And what if I did? Could you promise me I wouldn't be setting up Lucky's heart to get broken again? I mean, you've betrayed him once. Who's to say you wouldn't do it again?

Gia: Wait a minute. How dare you be so self-righteous? Like you and Lucky have any right to pass judgment on trust.

Nikolas: Gia, just leave it alone.

Gia: No, I don't care, Nikolas. You know, while you're standing out here, coming down on Nikolas for betraying poor Lucky, your so-called boyfriend is out betraying you with your tramp of a sister.

Lucky: How can I not tell Elizabeth what I've done? I mean, she asked me for one thing after the wedding. That was honesty. How could I feel this way about you and not tell Elizabeth how I feel? Think about what we've done here.

Sarah: Lucky -- if things could just magically go back to the way they were, if you could start loving Elizabeth like you used to, right this second, would you do it?

Lucky: In a heartbeat.

Sarah: Then trust me. Don't say a word about this, okay? I know my sister, and all our lives she's felt like we've been in some sort of competition. If I break you two up for good, if she even thinks that I could, then she'll lose it. And any chance that I've had of being a part of her life will be lost, just like any chance that you might still have. Is that what you want?

A.J.: If you want, you know, you can take your time, if you need a second. If not, let's go in there right now, drop the bomb on Courtney. Hmm? I won't deny a thing. It's your call, man. Let's go.

Jax: Look, Courtney, I know how confusing this is for you.

Courtney: Not at all. I know exactly what I'm doing. I married A.J. because I love him. What we have is separate from all those things that happened in the past. Sonny needs to accept that, and so do all the rest of you. So thanks for the concern, but I'm fine. It's really okay for you to go now.

Jax: Well, you know, I would like to say good night to the reluctant host.

A.J.: I believe Sonny has an announcement to make.

Sonny: I'd like to have a word with Courtney alone.

A.J.: Sure. It's okay. Go ahead.

Sonny: It won't take long.

A.J.: Uh -- folks, I really want to apologize. I was a little unprepared, you know. I didn't expect all of you. But I'm -- I'm glad you're all here.

Jax: A.J., could I have a word with you?

A.J.: What do you want, Jax?

Jax: I heard the offer you made Sonny.

Skye: What offer? Jax, what did A.J. offer Sonny?

Jax: You're despicable. Trying to trade that young woman for your son -- that's low.

Skye: A.J., did you really do that? You offered Courtney for Michael?

A.J.: I'll do anything for my son.

Courtney: This was my wedding dress. I put it on so that you could see. A.J.'s not trying to take advantage of me, Sonny. He's not going to hurt me. He's been wonderful. You don't need to protect me from him. And we don't need to fight. I don't want to fight with you, Sonny. But please just understand -- this is what I want.

Sonny: I need to know one thing. You know, I -- I just want an honest answer.

Courtney: Okay.

Sonny: Do you love A.J.?

Courtney: Do you think that I would've done this if I didn't? Yes. I love A.J.

Courtney: He's -- he's gentle and he's caring and kind. And he makes me laugh. You know what it is? For the first time in my life, somebody -- a man -- he actually -- he respects me. He treats me like I'm somebody, like I deserve it. I'm so happy, Sonny. I -- I want you to be happy for me instead of telling me that I'm wrong.

Alexis: Are we speaking?

Ned: Speaking? Sure. If you're asking whether I trust you -- no, no, never again. Yeah, I -- I truly believed, even after everything that went wrong, that we'd built a lasting trust. I still believed in you. But I won't make that mistake again.

Sonny: I'm glad everybody's here. Um -- I have an announcement to make.

Lucky: It's not that simple.

Sarah: Make it simple. Just keep this between us.

Lucky: What do you mean, Sarah? You mean lie? Nothing can happen between us. You know that.

Sarah: I know. I agree. It was one kiss, Lucky. It doesn't have to change anything. Don't let it. And if you and Elizabeth believe that you guys still have a future together, then go for it. I just wish I still had a chance.

Lucky: What are you talking about? You talking about that guy you were with before you came here to Port Charles?

Sarah: We were married.

Lucky: Oh. Did you get a divorce or something?

Sarah: He's dead.

Elizabeth: This is a new low, even for you, Gia. Because, yes, this would be the most hurtful lie possible, and you expect me to believe it?

Gia: Go ahead, Elizabeth. Live in denial. But I just came from Jakeís, and Lucky was outside with Sarah, and they were kissing. No, no, make that groping each other.

Elizabeth: Oh, Gia, please --

Nikolas: Knock it off.

Gia: What? I swear to God, Nikolas, it's true. You don't want to believe me, Elizabeth? That's fine. Just remember who told you. And remember this -- anybody can betray anybody, even the perfect Lucky Spencer. And you don't exactly live in a glass house, either.

Nikolas: That's enough.

Gia: Everyone lies, Elizabeth -- even to people they care about. But everyone deserves a second chance. You know, at least what Nikolas did was out of love. Lucky's cheating on you with your sister on the back wall of a beer joint. Not much love there, huh?

Elizabeth: I swear to God, Gia, don't say another word, okay? You know what? I'm done. I am through with the both of you. So don't try to come near me or Lucky ever again. You got it?

Gia: Fine by me. Good luck. What?

Alan: You crossed the line -- pretending A.J. is dead, what, just to scare me?

Monica: You should be scared, Alan. I am. This is Sonny Corinthos we are talking about -- the same Sonny that destroyed Jasonís life and is now in a perfect position to do the same with A.J.

Alan: You're exaggerating.

Monica: And you are sticking your head in the sand. Because according to you, saving A.J.'s life is not worth your time or energy.

Alan: A.J. lied to me.

Monica: Oh --

Alan: He deceived me. It is time that he took some responsibility for his behavior.

Monica: Well, now is a real good time to teach him one of life's little lessons. A fat lot of good it's going to do him dead.

Alan: A.J. is not dead. And what kind of mother would say that he is dead just to prove a point?

Monica: I will do anything I have to do to get you involved in your son's life!

Alan: Oh, God! Can we please, please stop trying to rip each other apart?

Monica: Why? What's left of our lives, anyway?

Alan: You don't mean that.

Monica: Well, I must, Alan. I just said it.

Edward: If this is supposed to be some kind of a prank, it's in horrendous taste. Oh -- oh, God, don't -- don't tell me it's some sort of experimental seduction technique. Have -- have we come to that?

Alan: No, but we certainly have good reason to mourn.

Edward: My God, Alan, can't you and Monica be together for 24 hours without being at each other's throats?

Alan: Apparently not.

Edward: Well, there will be no mourning here. Not anymore. A new life is coming into this house. A reason to celebrate. Mm-hmm.

Alan: Oh, father, what have you done now?

Edward: Oh, I've done nothing. But A.J., huh? A.J. may end up my favorite grandchild after all.

Sonny: I've had a chance to talk with my sister and my new brother-in-law. And certain things are clear to me now that weren't before. It's time to make concessions. I'd like to congratulate you on your marriage to my sister.

Courtney: Sonny, do you really mean that?

Sonny: All I want is for you to be happy, and A.J. persuaded me that he loves you. He assured me that he's going to do everything possible to keep you well and safe. I'm taking him on his word. Now, I'm not going to lie to you. You know how I feel about him. But you love him. And I'm counting on him to devote his whole life to making you happy, right?

[Courtney laughs]

Sonny: So -- in honor of your wedding, I want to give you a reception. The owner of one of the main hotels on this island is an associate of mine, and I'm going to have him bring down some champagne, cake -- whatever my beautiful little sister wants on this special day.

Courtney: Thank you, Sonny. This means everything to me.

Sonny: All right.

Courtney: Okay. I know I'm totally contradicting myself, but I would really like it if you would all stay.

Ned: I'd be delighted to celebrate. And I hope you and Alan Jr. will be very happy. Since I'll be probably making the toast on behalf of the family, I think you'd better tell me a little bit about yourself because I don't really know you. I know A.J., but I don't know anything about you, so --

Jax: Well, congratulations, A.J. Looks like you just went straight from the frying pan into the fire. Sonny told you to go shove your deal, didn't he?

Sonny: Pronto, por favor. Gracias.

Alexis: I assume there was a reason for that performance?

Sonny: A.J. offered to trade his new wife for Michael.

Alexis: Then you did the only thing you could.

Sonny: What about Courtney? I left her in A.J.'s hands.

Alexis: She's a big girl. She can take care of herself. You were very smooth. You were very dignified. You did the right thing. You did the smart thing. You did it exactly right.

Sonny: Then why does it feel like a knife in my gut?

Sarah: I was in Budapest. I had two weeks vacation from med school. Christmas break. It was getting dark. Snow was falling. So beautiful. Then all of a sudden, he was there, like in a dream. If there's such a thing as love at first sight -- we went out for coffee. Six hours over one cup. We were married for three months. I have never been that in love, Lucky, that connected, that happy, with anybody. We took a trip to Bosnia. I wanted to surprise my parents. He kissed me. He was late for a meeting. He missed my cheek completely. Kissed my nose. He laughed. I remember that. And the wave he gave me as he walked into the building. The explosion knocked me off my feet. I turned back, and there was nothing left.

Lucky: I'm so sorry.

Sarah: Nobody knows -- not Gram, not my parents. I couldn't even tell Lizzie. It just hurts too much to think about it, to talk about it, to remember the --

Lucky: I know. It's all right. It's okay. It's all right.

Alan: Hi, Rae. It's Alan. How are you?

Sonny: A toast to my sister. Yeah, it's true -- I haven't known her very long. But I want you to know and I want everybody to know that Courtney's happiness and joy is the most important thing in the world to me. And I know that my new brother-in-law will do everything he can to love her and give her the life she deserves. Till death do they part. To A.J. -- To A.J. and Courtney -- a long, prosperous union. May it be everything you expect and may it be nothing you donít. Salut.

Courtney: Salut.

Sonny: All right.

[Music plays]

Sonny: Can I have this dance?

Courtney: Well, it's tradition, right, if the bride's father can't be at her wedding so she dances her first dance with her brother?

Sonny: Yeah.

Courtney: Okay.

Sonny: You make a beautiful bride.

Courtney: Thank you. You know, it's actually starting to feel pretty good to have a brother. I want you to know how grateful I am. I know how much this is costing you.

Sonny: Anything else would cost me a lot more.

A.J.: He's boxing me in, forcing me to stay married. He thinks I'm trapped.

Skye: So turn the tables on him. Get divorced.

A.J.: No. I will stay married. I'll show him. I'll show you all.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Audrey: 10,000 days. Where did they go so fast?

Nikolas: Just be a little bit patient. Time really does heal everything.

Bobbie: Who's having a baby?

Woman: I need to push!

Scott: No --

Luke: Don't push, don't push.
