Elton: Do I get to know where you're going?
Laura: Make sure that Roy gets the note and mind the store.
Zander: Nothing can happen, Carly. You are Sonny's wife.
Carly: Oh, I'm no such thing.
Skye: We could just go to bed together and get it out of the way.
Luke: Jennifer -- Smith, is it, again? Or are you still a Boggs?
Jennifer: You were right the first time. I'm flattered you remember.
Luke: Hey, you knew I'd remember. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here.
Jennifer: Still, it's a step in the right direction. Some things really don't change.
Luke: Some things do. You look good -- no surprise intended.
Jennifer: Oh, you were always quick with a compliment, not to mention a wedding.
Luke: Yeah. Speaking of that, where's your insignificant other?
Jennifer: Billy "bags"? Oh, a distant, annoying memory. Oh, he was just a hanger-on. Bad haircut in a cheap suit. I only wish I could have cut my losses sooner. I discovered that what I really need is someone with potential. Which brings me to the point of this little reunion.
Luke: Good. I was hoping we'd get there soon.
Jennifer: It's just you and me now, Luke, and we're going to pick up right where we left off.
Elizabeth: I never stopped being your valentine.
Lucky: I stopped being yours, but not because I wanted to. Don't worry. I cut off all the thorns, so you can't possibly stick yourself this time. Listen. You hear that? Exactly. I knew it was going to be quiet in here, so I brought the solution.
Lucky: Better? Good, because I have one more surprise for you.
Elizabeth: Lucky, please, just stop. It's too hard and it hurts too much. We have to end this.
Jax: You know, not that I'm adverse to the idea, but don't you think having sex might complicate things between us?
Skye: On the contrary, I think it might simplify things. It's perfectly reasonable. Natural, really. I'm a woman, you're a man. We're both unattached, both tolerably attractive. Don't tell me you've never considered the possibility.
Jax: From time to time.
Skye: Whenever we're together, I feel it, even when we didn't like each other. I'm sure it isn't just me.
Jax: It isn't.
Skye: Then you know what I mean. That faint little charge, that slight fission of electricity that kind of makes the hairs on the back of your neck just stand up.
Jax: Your description is picturesque, to put it mildly. Only question is, what do you want to do about it?
Kristina: Bank the 6 ball off the striped one into the corner pocket. Just a suggestion.
Zander: That's not a bad eye. You play?
Kristina: Oh, I have a decent eye, but my follow-through is a little lacking. Just ask my sister. Well, come on, are you going to take your shot?
Zander: What exactly are we talking about here? It's definitely not pool.
Kristina: You're right. We're not talking about pool. It's Sonny. How risky is it getting close to him?
Alexis: They're beautiful. Thank you.
Sonny: You're welcome.
Sonny: Well, your memories of that night are probably a little hazy, but mine are crystal clear. You -- you know, one more drink, who knows what would've happened.
Alexis: Well, happily, we'll never find out.
Sonny: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you know, that's why I sent you gardenias instead of rum.
Zander: What's this about?
Kristina: Look, I need to know more about Sonny. How he works, what's important to him. I need to know the Sonny that nobody else sees.
Zander: Ask him.
Kristina: Zander, a woman's heart is at stake here. How dangerous it getting close to him?
Zander: Kristina, if you're falling for Sonny, stop yourself now.
Kristina: So, what if I am falling for Sonny? I mean, I see him all the time, but what if I want to see him more? Why shouldn't I?
Zander: Because you'll get hurt.
Kristina: How do you know that?
Zander: I just do. Anyway, he's unavailable, okay?
Kristina: What does "unavailable" mean?
Zander: Sonny's not over Carly. He never will be. And anybody that gets in the way of that is going to lose big time.
Carly: We really should stop meeting like this. You dropped something. What's that? Flowers from Sonny. "Breathe." Yeah, well, that's good advice for any occasion. What is the occasion? Oh, I almost I forgot. It's Valentines Day.
Sonny: Why did you come? Is Michael all right?
Carly: Michael is fine. This is between us -- what's left of us, anyway. You know what? There's something in the divorce agreement that doesn't make sense to me, and I thought if you had a magnifying glass handy that we could look over the fine print.
Sonny: Well, I'm just on my way out. I don't --
Carly: It is not going to take a long time, okay? And as soon as we're done, the two of you can get back to breathing.
Sonny: Well, I don't want to stand here and argue with you for 20 minutes, so let's go.
Carly: Thank you for your time, Sonny. I so appreciate it.
Alexis: You know, why don't I let you two work this out.
Carly: You know what, Alexis, I want you in on this. You drafted the agreement papers, so maybe you could make it clear for me. And don't worry, you are on the clock.
Sonny: Sorry about that.
Alexis: It's okay. Let's just get it straightened out.
Sonny: All right.
Sonny: Okay, Carly. What's the problem?
Carly: I still don't -- I don't see it.
Alexis: What are you looking for, Carly?
Carly: The clause in here that says that Sonny can get on with his life but I can't.
Skye: What to do? Always a difficult question.
Jax: Well, speaking from experience --
Skye: Oh, so this has happened to you before?
Jax: Yeah, more than once.
Skye: Then you know how important it is for us to be candid about it. I mean, things have been going so well except for the occasional difficulty.
Jax: Yeah. I wouldn't want this to cause a problem between us.
Skye: Oh, no. No, in fact, I'm glad that it's out in the open. I think we should thank Ned for bringing it up.
Jax: Yes, you know, you're absolutely right. Next time I see Ned, I will thank him.
Skye: So, then, we're agreed we're attracted to each other. Fortunately, there are ways to deal with this.
Jax: Yes. I could think of a few. But why don't you run down your list first?
Skye: Suppression? But that's so unhealthy, and that never works. Or we could acknowledge it like we just did and try to rise above it. But, well, that's hardly a solution.
Jax: So where does that leave us, exactly?
Skye: At door number three. We could act on it. I mean, really, that's -- it's the only way to get past it, or else it'll just, you know, hang there like this not-so-invisible curtain, just affecting everything we do or say.
Jax: No. Can't have that, now, can we?
Skye: I -- I guess not, given how tempting the alternative is.
Jax: Well, then, I guess we should open door number three.
Skye: Yeah, if -- if you insist.
Luke: Jennifer, it's just you and me and these three salivating hyenas. Now, if the animal act gets its way, the only thing left to pick up will be my autopsy report.
Jennifer: Keep your pistols in your pockets, gentlemen. Don't worry about anything, Luke. I call the shots.
Luke: That's an interesting way to put it.
Jennifer: You have nothing to fear as long as you do as I ask.
Luke: Uh-huh. And what would that be, exactly? You know, at the point of being obvious here, there's not a hell of a lot to pick up. Jennifer, I pretended to be dead to get out of marrying you 20 years ago. 20 years, Jennifer.
Jennifer: Oh, you were just playing hard-to-get. The good ones always do. By the way, I forgive you.
Luke: Thank you.
Jennifer: Abe? The truth is we never had a chance. The odds were always against us. Too much outside interference -- my father, his associates, and then -- oh, yes -- Laura.
Luke: Well, I'd hardly call Laura outside interference, darling. You know, your father told me if I didn't marry you that he was going to kill her, and I still love her, Jennifer. She's -- hey, hey, hey! Watch seam!
Jennifer: Abe, we'll alter the tux after Luke tries it on.
Luke: Tux? Black-tie? Well, what are we celebrating?
Jennifer: My wedding.
Luke: Congratulations. Who's the Lucky guy?
Jennifer: You are, peaches.
Luke: I knew you were going to say that!
Jennifer: Do we have a problem?
Luke: No. No, no, darling, we don't have no problem. It's just that, see, I didn't live this long to share a piece of wedding cake with you.
Jennifer: Oh, what a shame. Because if you don't marry me, the boys will shoot you.
Lucky: No, Elizabeth, I can't do this. I can't give up on you. I wont.
Elizabeth: Lucky, we have to face it. Pretending to date? Making believe we can magically start over? This isn't fair to either one of us. You're feeling obligated and guilty, and all I'm feeling is empty. It's time to let each other go.
Lucky: We can't.
Elizabeth: It isn't love, and it's never going to be. Love isn't something you should think about or question or arrange. Love should be as natural as breathing, and we don't have that. I know this because we used to.
Lucky: And you used to believe in second chances. I won't give up on you, Elizabeth.
Skye: That was --
Jax: It certainly was.
Skye: Please don't.
Jax: Why? You didn't like that?
Skye: On the contrary, I -- I liked it too much. Enough that maybe we should just forget that it happened.
Jax: It's a little late for that.
Skye: You know, maybe -- maybe "forget" was too strong a word. Perhaps "disregard," or even "ignore"?
Jax: You know, denial is just as bad as suppression. Like you said, we're both adults, we're both unattached.
Skye: Yeah. Maybe it's better if we both stay that way.
Jax: I thought this was supposed to simplify things.
Skye: Oh, it has. Everything is much clearer now.
Jax: What are you afraid of?
Skye: I'm afraid of how I feel when I'm in your arms, Jax. Look, there's too much that I want to accomplish, okay? I've worked too hard and I've sacrificed too much to simply let sex get in the way, okay?
Jax: How do you know it would?
Skye: After that kiss, you don't think that it would? No, I -- I think that it would better if you and I just go back to being plain and simple business partners. It would just be safer for everyone involved.
Jax: Since when do you play it safe? Hmm?
Skye: That's just a dare.
Jax: Are you taking me up on it? Look, I won't push you, Skye, although I'm tempted.
Skye: Well, you wouldn't have to push very far, trust me. But -- but don't. Unless, of course, maybe it would get you to tell me what you have on Edward.
Jax: Oh, I see. So this is about power? About leverage?
Skye: Oh, and this isn't about power and leverage for you? Just think how much power and leverage we'd have together, Jax.
Sonny: What -- what's going on? What are you doing here?
Carly: I want to know where the lines are drawn, okay? Apart from the money and the fact that you're Michaels adopted father, that I can do whatever it is that I want, that there is no clause in here that prohibits that.
Alexis: Carly, there is no such clause.
Carly: I want to hear you say it, hmm? I want to hear you say the words.
Sonny: What words?
Carly: That you don't own me.
Sonny: I never owned you.
Carly: You know what? You don't even see it. God, it is so much a part of how you live and how you operate that you don't even know that you're doing it.
Sonny: Doing what, Carly?
Carly: You have people watching me and reporting back to you. There is practically a sign around my neck that says "Property of Sonny Corinthos."
Sonny: You are not my property.
Carly: Okay, you heard that? I want you to put it in writing and put it in the agreement.
Sonny: You know -- okay, you know what? What's going on? What happened?
Carly: You want to know?
Carly: You really want to know?
Sonny: Yeah, I want to know.
Carly: I just want to make sure that I'm not going behind your back or breaking any of your precious rules because some really great guy kissed me and I kissed him back, and I may want to do it again. So that's okay, right? It's fine by you?
Zander: Can we drop this?
Kristina: Look, you can trust me.
Zander: Why? Because you say so? Look, I like you, but I don't know you all that well. And the only reason I've gone this far is because you're Alexis' sister and I owe her. So if keeping you out of a bad situation makes her life easier, then I'll do all I can to help. And I like the way you sing.
Kristina: Where did that come from?
Zander: Maybe you should focus on that instead of Sonny.
Kristina: Listen, Zander, one more favor to ask you -- could you keep this between us?
Zander: Keeping things to myself is half my job. I'd suggest you do the same. Take it from me; admitting how you feel won't change anything.
Kristina: Thanks for being honest.
Zander: It's one of my biggest flaws.
Sonny: Do what you want. You always do. I don't control you.
Carly: I want to make sure that you don't have a problem with me and other guys. I mean, you shouldn't because it's a pretty big part of a divorce. But I thought, you know, I better check. Because who knows, I might actually want to go farther one day. I might actually want to go farther than kissing. I might want to feel like a desirable woman again with a life instead of a Sonny Corinthos reject.
Sonny: Take the guy on the pool table in the middle of Jakes. I don't give a damn.
Alexis: Are we through here?
Carly: You bet. I've been in limbo long enough. It's time for a clean break. You have anything to add, Sonny?
Carly: Enjoy your flowers, Alexis.
Alexis: Okay, so we know what that was about.
Sonny: Yeah, and I know with who.
Sonny: Forget it. I got to -- I need some time.
Alexis: Well, you know where to find me.
Luke: You're good. You've really learned to put on a poker face. You really had me going there for a minute. So what's this really about?
Jennifer: It's about you and me and a ring on my finger, one that should have been there 20 years ago.
Luke: Jennifer, you're talking about a shotgun wedding to me. You got far too much class for this.
Jennifer: Boys, I think we need some alone time. Don't go far.
Luke: Oh, good. I'm glad you sent them out of the room. Now we can talk. So what is this really about? Do you need money? Do you need me to help you find some gold bars, maybe, that frank stashed away?
Jennifer: It's about you, Luke. You're what I want. Everything else I already have. Dear old dad managed to squirrel away quite a bit before you killed him. And now with Damian gone, well, everything went to me.
Luke: Well, if you've got it all, baby, what do you need with me?
Jennifer: Let's just call it companionship. Like I said before, I have everything I want except someone to share it with. Gets kind of lonely, if you must know.
Luke: Get a dog.
Jennifer: Oh, I thought you'd be resistant to the idea at first. But you'll soften up.
Luke: Darling, didn't you hear me? I'm in love with Laura.
Jennifer: Ha! Never kid a kidder, Luke. I happen to know you and Laura are d-I-v-o-r-c-e-D.
Luke: Yeah, that. Well, that -- see, that's old news. We're getting back together because she's the only woman for me.
Jennifer: Divorce is sure a funny way of showing it.
Luke: Well, I never said I was smart. I said I was in love. Still in love with her after 20 years. Really, she's it for me, Jennifer, and that's that.
Jennifer: You're going to forget all about Laura once you've had a real woman love you.
Luke: Real? You call this real?
Jennifer: Ooh. Well. It looks like you have some decisions to make.
Luke: Yeah. I guess I do.
Luke: I got to get out of here. Oh, I got to get out of here. Oh, man.
Elizabeth: Please don't do this.
Lucky: Don't do what? Don't care about you? How am I supposed to do that? When I saw you in the E.R., I thought of the last time we went ice skating. It was like we were there again. I could smell your hair. I could feel how your hand fit perfectly into mine. I want that always, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: Do you really mean this?
Lucky: Yes, I do. I swear it. I'll prove it to you if you want. I'll tattoo it across my chest. Whatever.
Elizabeth: You're crazy, you know that?
Lucky: Only when it comes to you. Please, don't give up. Stick with us.
Sarah: Hey, you two.
Sarah: How do you feel?
Lucky: Yeah. Everything's going to be just fine.
Sarah: Well, everything looks good.
Lucky: Yes, she does.
Sarah: Don't push it. She shouldn't get too excited.
Elizabeth: Well, how I can help it?
Sarah: You could start by getting this good-looking guy out of your room.
Lucky: She's right. You probably should get some sleep. I won't be gone long, okay?
Sarah: Try to get some sleep, okay?
Elizabeth: Sit down. Lucky's so sure we can make it. You don't believe him.
Sarah: If Lucky said it, then it must be true, right? Okay.
Sarah: Call me if you need anything.
Elizabeth: I will.
Jax: You're really something, you know that? Always a plan, always an angle.
Skye: Which is exactly why we make such a good team. What?
Skye: Oh, that look was hardly nothing.
Jax: That look was gratitude. Maybe even a little affection.
Jax: You know, at the risk of complicating things all over again, I am glad that you came into my life.
Jax: Because I was bored, complacent, and you're far from boring.
Skye: That's supposed to be a compliment, right?
Jax: You're a conundrum. You're complicated, but what you want and what you need are really quite simple. You're smart enough to know when to play dumb, and you're savvy enough to confuse even me. And on top of that, you're beautiful.
Skye: Ooh. Careful, Mr. Jacks. Just might want to make me kiss you again, and we'd be right back in quicksand.
Jax: I've been in worse places. But let me reassure you, I am taking Ned and Edwards warnings under advisement and I will proceed with due caution. But I'll be proceeding with you.
Skye: Well, then I guess I won't be needing to get anything else on Edward.
Jax: But you're going to try anyway, right?
Jax: You won't find it.
Skye: Want to bet?
Jax: You're on. I'm going to give you fair warning -- I'm ready for you.
Jax: Excuse me. Hello? When? I don't understand. How -- right. No, that's fine. I'll take care of it. Thanks.
Skye: What happened?
Jax: Sonny managed to get a stay on the condemnation order.
Skye: You mean he's won?
Jax: For now.
[Knock on door]
Carly: You mind if I come in?
Sonny: Come on, Zander, where the hell are you?
Kristina: Oh, Sonny.
Kristina: Hey, listen, if you have a second, maybe we could talk.
Sonny: You know what? I don't know have time right now. Just call me if you need to see me. Just call me; we'll set a time, whatever.
Alexis: Want some ice cream? Oh, good, more for me. Actually, I've had enough.
Kristina: I take it we're not talking about the ice cream anymore?
Alexis: Oh, boy, I've had enough of a lot of things.
Kristina: Yeah, well, me, too. And that's why I think that we should move.
Alexis: What? I like it here. I thought you did, too.
Kristina: Yeah, I do like it here. I want to get you away from Sonny.
Jax: Sonny Corinthos is as slick as they come. That's how he makes his living, you know? Just like a little snake, just finds his way through -- oh, God. Never again.
Skye: The city council approved that order. How could Sonny outmaneuver that?
Jax: Alexis. Alexis. She is the best lawyer in the state, and she insists on working for Sonny Corinthos. You know, I've got to hand it to him -- he does surround himself with people who are loyal to the death, no matter how misguided they are. There has got to be a way to nail him. There has got to be a way to nail him that is quick, effective, and permanent.
Skye: There is. We catch Sonny in the act. We get him so dead to rights that even the loyal, dedicated Alexis Davis can't save him. Want to know how we do that?
Abe: Going somewhere?
Luke: No. No, I wasn't. Aah! Hey, hey, take it easy. Take it easy, take it easy.
Abe: Shut up.
Luke: What are you measuring for? Shirt collar or a noose?
Abe: That's your call, Spencer.
Luke: Hey, what are you here for?
Laura: I'm here to get you out of Dodge.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Luke: You are the entire rescue party?
Laura: Do you want my help or not?
Kristina: You like Sonny too much.
Skye: I said look at me when I'm talking to you!
Jax: Skye, Skye --
Zander: What are you doing?
Carly: Extending an invitation.
