General Hospital Transcript Thursday 2/14/02
>> Previously on "General Hospital" --
Nikolas: It's Valentine’s Day.
Jax: Ned thinks that I've stopped thinking with my brain when it comes to you.
Carly: What does Sonny have to do with you and me kissing or anything else that we may choose to do?
Alexis: I liked everything about Puerto Rico.
Elton: You're going to go find that man, aren't you?
Laura: Yeah, I guess I'm going to find him.
Lucky: Would you be my valentine?
Jax: I believe I've mentioned you're beautiful.
Skye: Once or twice.
Jax: Well, I was wrong. You're astonishing, Skye. You surpass any woman I've ever met.
Edward: If you're referring to vindictiveness and deceit, I'd have to agree.
Ned: You can't seriously be thinking of taking her to the ball. She'll double-cross you before you get past the door.
Skye: That's a lie.
Sonny: No matter how they dress you up, inside you're what you always were -- for sale to the highest bidder.
Skye: Jax is different.
Sonny: Bigger payoff, but the transaction's basically the same.
Jax: Apologize to the lady.
Sonny: What lady? All I see is a garden-variety tramp.
Jax: Be gone, Corinthos.
Ned: What --
Edward: Oh, good Lord.
Skye: How did you do that?
Jax: Easy when you have power. You say a command, and the world obeys.
Skye: Any command?
Jax: Try me.
Skye: I want Ned to leave me alone.
Skye: Better yet, I want him to do what I say and to come and go as I please.
Ned: I will never take orders from you, Skye.
Jax: You will now. You are Skye’s chauffeur.
Ned: Will you be needing the car tonight, Miss?
Jax: Well, go ahead. He's your servant now.
Skye: Have the car waiting. Mr. Jacks and I will be leaving shortly.
Ned: Yes, Miss.
Edward: Now, for pity's sakes, Skye, this is just ridiculous.
Skye: Can you do the same thing to Grandfather?
Edward: No -- let's don't be hasty.
Jax: Wouldn't you rather do it yourself?
Jax: You have the power, Skye. I'm sharing it with you.
Skye: You mean that?
Jax: Go ahead. Give it a try.
Edward: Now, Skye, I -- I know that I may have been unkind to you in the past, but I am an old man with a very weak heart.
Skye: You're my butler.
Edward: Will you be dining at home tonight, Miss?
Skye: Perhaps a light meal after the ball.
Edward: Oh, very good, Miss.
Skye: That will be all.
Jax: Well done.
Skye: I can't believe you've given me this power.
Jax: Well, why shouldn't I?
Skye: I've lied to you, Jax, about so many things.
Jax: Don't you think I know that? I saw through you from the start. You're charming and seductive, and it's all a front.
Skye: It's amazingly effective.
Jax: It's a waste of time. I know who you are, Skye, and it's who I want -- all of you. Your fire, your sweetness, your beauty, and your flaws. There's no chance you'll ever lose me. No chance I'll ever change my mind or walk away. I'm a sure thing, Skye. I'm yours.
Skye: I'm -- I'm so afraid.
Jax: Yes, of course. Yes, it's terrifying to need someone. But every day the fear will be a little less and the trust will be a little more. And before you know it, you'll believe in me just as much as I believe in you. You're loved now. Anything you want is yours.
Skye: Oh. I want you.
Alexis: "All rights and privileges not directly referenced here are reserved without prejudice to the buyer."
Sonny: Does this say I own the casino or not?
Alexis: It's a detailed contract with several --
Sonny: Well, you know, the paperwork is just a formality. I already stole the casino.
Alexis: Please don't tell me that.
Sonny: Why? You like it when I steal.
Alexis: No, I find it --
Sonny: Because it -- it -- the fact that I'm bad turns you on.
Alexis: "Said contract refers to the transfer of real estate between the party of the first part --" I -- I need my glasses to read.
Sonny: Yeah, but you know what? You look so much better without them.
Alexis: Yeah, well, be that as it may, there's a great deal of fine print in this contract.
Sonny: You know something? You have beautiful eyes. I mean, you shouldn't hide them. You know what I'm saying?
Alexis: I suppose the text is legible enough. Ahem. "Party of the first part is -- is not --"
Sonny: You know what? You don't want to read. You want to look at me.
Alexis: "Michael J. Corinthos Jr., Hereinafter referred to as 'Buyer,' and the parties of the second part, Caribbean Partners --"
Sonny: Wait, wait, wait --
Alexis: "Caribbean Partners Limited --"
Sonny: You watch me all the time, don't you? You watch my lips, and you imagine me kissing you. You watch my hands, and you imagine how they --
Alexis: "Parties of the second part, Caribbean Partners Limited, hereinafter referred to as --" I need that contract.
Sonny: No, you don’t.
Alexis: Yes, I do.
Singer: You make me feel like a sticky
Alexis: What are you doing?
Sonny: Yeah, that's better.
Alexis: Oh, no, no. No, it really isn’t.
Sonny: Yeah, well, I'm the one that's supposed to be the liar, not you, right?
Alexis: I just want you to know that I have principles. I do. I have a lot of principles.
Sonny: I know, I know, I know, I know. You have feelings, too -- things you need and things you --
Sonny: You want.
Alexis: I don't -- I don't want or need anything, honestly.
Alexis: Please stop that.
Sonny: No, I'm not going to stop because this is what you want. I'm going to unfasten every single button on this thing, and we're going to have a good time.
Sonny: Yeah. Don't be ashamed of how you feel about me because I think about you all the time.
Alexis: You do?
Sonny: Oh, yeah. You should -- you know, I think about -- I don't know. I think about, like, doing this --
Sonny: And I think about doing this.
Alexis: Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, please, don't do that.
Sonny: Oh, you know what? You got to -- first of all -- you got to let yourself go. You got to let it happen. You got to just breathe.
Alexis: Oh. Could you please do that again?
Sonny: Sure. Oh, baby. It's okay. Get down.
Alexis: Oh -- oh, my -- oh, God. Oh!
Elton: Ladies and gentleman, Miss Gia Campbell.
[Cheers and applause]
Crowd: Gia! Gia!
Man: Gia, look this way. Over here.
Woman: Gia, how does it feel to be a star?
Elton: Gia, tell us, won't you? You're live on wlpc. You have it all -- fame, beauty, even the love of a handsome prince. How does it feel to be the woman with everything?
Gia: Pretty terrific.
Elton: Ah. Tell us, won't you, what are your plans for the future? What challenges lie ahead for Gia Campbell?
Gia: Um -- I --
Courtney: It's her. Gia ran the red light. She didn't even slow down.
Elton: My God, are you referring to that terrible traffic accident which almost killed Elizabeth Webber?
Courtney: It was all Gia's fault. She lied to cover up -- she almost killed Elizabeth and then framed me for it.
Gia: Marcus, please --
Taggert: We have proof you ran that red light. You're under arrest for speeding, reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, and obstruction of justice.
Elton: Ladies and gentlemen, this is a terrible revelation. Gia Campbell, once on the brink of superstardom, has now been exposed as a criminal.
Man: Were you on drugs?
Woman: Are you pleading guilty?
Gia: Help me.
Nikolas: There's only one way. And if I do this, I can't take it back.
Gia: It doesn't matter. Please, you have to get me out of this.
Nikolas: All right, you remember you said that. You remember you asked, okay? I love you. Goodbye.
Nikolas: Elton, if I can borrow the microphone, I'd like to say a few words, please. Ms. Campbell is understandably upset that her brother and Miss Matthews have chosen to pursue this --
Nikolas and Stavros: At the cost of their careers and reputations.
Stavros: You see, Gia is the victim of a malicious blackmail scam concocted by her own brother and Miss Matthews.
Courtney: That's not true.
Stavros: There's no proof that Gia ran the red light. All the evidence points to Miss Matthews. And a judge has issued a warrant for her and Lt. Taggert's arrest.
Courtney: He's lying. He bribed that judge.
Taggert: Gia, it's not too late to do the right thing.
Stavros: Gia owes it to me and to herself to leave all of this behind and enjoy the perfect life that I'll give her. Isn't that right, my love?
Gia: Whatever you want.
Stavros: Take them away.
Elton: Gia, tell us, how does it feel to be saved by your prince?
Gia: I consider myself --
Gia: The most fortunate woman on earth.
Elton: Thank you.
Elizabeth: Well, at least Helena’s taste is consistent -- dark and slimy. The only attractive thing she ever had is you.
Lucky: Correction. I may be under Helena’s spell, but she doesn't have me. She never will.
Elizabeth: And I'm going to make sure of it.
Helena: Well -- you sound so confident, my little beauty.
Lucky: Elizabeth, get out of here.
Elizabeth: Not a chance.
Lucky: No, Helena will turn me against you.
Elizabeth: Oh, she won't last that long.
Helena: A sizable boast for such a little girl. I hope you're prepared to back it up.
Elizabeth: Don't you ever get tired of villain-speak?
Helena: Have it your way. You're toast -- burnt toast.
Helena: Oh, not to worry, not to worry. No, he's enchanted. He can't love and he can't die -- which is more than I can say for you, my little pretty.
Elizabeth: You are an evil woman.
Helena: Thank you.
Elizabeth: Not only are you a fashion victim, your aim stinks.
Helena: Ooh, you have a smart mouth.
Elizabeth: And you are out of time.
Helena: Oh. And you are out of time.
Helena: Oh! Oh! Oh, you -- you cursed, vulgar, little brat. Look what you've done! Oh, oh, I'm melting. Oh! I'm melting, I'm melting, I'm melting. I'm melting.
Elizabeth: That was pungent.
Lucky: Oh. Elizabeth?
Elizabeth: Lucky. Lucky, Lucky, I'm here. Everything's fine.
Lucky: Where's Helena?
Elizabeth: I melted her.
Lucky: Oh. That's kind of cliché, huh? Whatever works.
Elizabeth: It's going to rain.
Lucky: Yeah, it looks like it.
Elizabeth: Lucky, you have to get up.
Lucky: Elizabeth --
Elizabeth: Come on. If the rain hits you, you'll melt like Helena did. You have to get inside.
Lucky: Elizabeth --
Lucky: The spell's broken.
Elizabeth: No, no. No, you can't be so sure. Lucky --
Lucky: No, I am sure because I can feel it.
Elizabeth: Lucky, you have to get out of the rain!
Lucky: No, I -- Elizabeth, I know it because I love you.
Elizabeth: But you can't!
Lucky: No, I love you! Believe me!
Singer: It's all
Lucky: I love you.
Singers: You're my sunshine after the rain you're the cure against my fear and my pain 'cause I'm losing my mind when you're not around it's all it's all it's all
Lucky: I love you!
Singers: You're my sunshine after the rain
["The Godfather theme" plays]
Alexis: They're pressing for a response. I've held them off as long as I can, but you need to make a decision soon.
Carly: Is everything all right?
Sonny: Yeah, everything's fine. Nothing to worry about.
Carly: Okay. I'm going out.
Sonny: Okay. Have a good time.
Sonny: Wait. I want my wife. Carly, I need you.
Carly: What can I do?
Sonny: The opposition's going to make a move against me, and I need to decide whether --
Alexis: You can't tell her any more.
Sonny: Carly is --
Alexis: She's already betrayed you to the Feds.
Sonny: She's smart, she's loyal, and I respect her. If you don't, I suggest you leave the state -- no, the country.
Alexis: I apologize. I meant no disrespect.
Sonny: Carly's the one you insulted.
Alexis: I apologize, Carly.
Carly: Okay, then there's no need to discuss it any further. I think you should do what Sonny wants and make a preemptive strike.
Alexis: How did you overhear us?
Carly: I didn't. I just know what Sonny thinks.
Sonny: Then my decision stands. Call me when the arrangements are complete.
Alexis: We still have other matters --
Sonny: We're finished!
Sonny: How important was that errand?
Carly: Not very important.
Sonny: Well, then, you can open this.
Carly: Oh, Sonny, you don't have to give me things.
Sonny: What if I want to? If you hate it, we can send it back.
Carly: I love it.
Sonny: You haven't even seen it.
Carly: Well, I know I'll love it because it's from you.
Sonny: Well, open it just in case.
Carly: Oh, I told you I'd love it.
Sonny: Read it.
Carly: "I love you."
Sonny: "Ti amo."
Carly: "Je t'aime."
Sonny: "Te quiero." Tu llenas mi vida con tu risa y te quiero con todo, mi corazon.
Carly: Okay, what did you just say?
Sonny: I said I want to see you wearing this necklace and nothing else.
Carly: You did not. You said, "corazon."
Carly: Yeah, which means "heart."
Sonny: You are my heart.
Carly: And you're mine.
Sonny: Dance with me.
Sonny: Yeah, right now.
Singer: Promise me you'll remember this love together, today we may not have tomorrow it's not for us to say
Singers: We will we will rock you
Alan: In a development that no one expected, the challenger has lasted 11 rounds. If A.J. Quartermaine can survive another three minutes, he'll be the first fighter in history to have survived with the champion. He has taken an incredible amount of punishment. He has been down three times, and no one in this place knows whether he will be able to answer the last round. But one thing is for certain -- he has shown a level of determination that Corinthos has never faced before.
Singer: We will
Edward: No one will think less of you if I stop this fight.
A.J.: I'm not giving up.
Edward: Oh --
Skye: You're hurt, A.J. If he gets inside again and he works those ribs, he could do permanent damage.
A.J.: I refuse to quit.
Courtney: A.J., please. It's not worth it. Sonny's already hurt you too badly.
A.J.: I can win, Courtney.
Courtney: You don't have to. I already know that you're better than him.
A.J.: Everybody else has to.
Courtney: I can't watch him knock you down again.
A.J.: I got him right where I want him.
Ned: Last round, A.J. Last round, Champ.
Skye: All right, A.J.
Skye: Keep moving and watch those ribs, huh? All right. Come on.
Skye: Watch your ribs.
Courtney: Sonny, stop!
[Opera music plays]
Alan: Down goes Corinthos! Down goes Corinthos! The impossible has happened.
Alan: Four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10.
[Theme from "Rocky" plays]
Edward: A.J.! Ha-ha-ha! I'm so proud of you! Ha-ha-ha!
Skye: A.J., you're a winner! You always were.
Kristina: Dear Mr. Ashton, I am singing this to you and I hope that you'll hear me so you'll know my heart beats like a hammer and I stutter and I stammer every time I see you I just start to glow I guess I'm just another fan of yours so I thought I'd sing and tell you so oh oh
Kristina: You made me love you I didn't wanna do it I didn't wanna do it you made me want you and all the time you knew it I guess you always knew it
Ned: Made me happy sometimes you made me glad but there were times, dear you made me feel so bad
Kristina: You made me sigh for I didn't wanna tell ya I didn't wanna tell ya
Ned: I want a love that's true
Kristina: Yes, I do
Ned: Indeed, I do
Both: You know I do
Kristina: Give me, give me give me, give me what I cry for
Both: You know you got the brand of kisses that I'd die for
Kristina: You know you made me
Ned: You know you made
Kristina: You know you made me
Ned: You know you made me
Kristina: You know you
Both: Made me love
Carly: Are you coming in?
Sonny: Are you sure?
Carly: Does it ever hurt?
Sonny: That was more than a year ago.
Carly: I read somewhere that scars will ache years after they've healed. It's called phantom pain. Some things are so terrible that the body remembers long after the mind wants to forget.
Sonny: The scars are numb, like a blank spot on my skin. What I feel are your hands, your hair. Sometimes I wake up, and I -- I reach for you.
Carly: For me?
Sonny: Yeah. I don't like to -- I don't like feeling numb, you know? But I -- you know -- I don't want to stay there, but something inside just doesn't stop. It aches, and I -- and I'm reaching.
Carly: For what?
Sonny: For this. For you. I know it shouldn't matter, but I want it to last forever.
Carly: It can.
Sonny: Only if I trust you.
Carly: You can trust me.
Alexis: You can trust me, Sonny.
Roy: I was about to call Felipe and arrange for bail.
Luke: Keep his number handy. I still might need it. The cops are dogging me like bloodhounds.
Roy: They're not the only ones. There's someone waiting for you in your office. I told her you might be gone a while, but she wouldn't leave.
Luke: I'll get rid of her.
Roy: Sure you will.
Luke: What part of "goodbye" didn't you understand, doll?
Laura: The part where I never get to see you again.
Luke: You got what you wanted.
Laura: No, I didn't.
Luke: I covered for you with the cops. I gave you the package.
Laura: I'm giving it back.
Laura: Go ahead. Open it. I don't expect you to trust me.
Luke: Why are you doing this?
Laura: Because I love you.
Luke: Oh, you love me, huh? Where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah -- I said it to you. As I recall, your response wasn't too enthusiastic.
Laura: Can you blame me? You're not an easy man to love. You don't fit in my life. I'd probably be better off without you, but I'll never know because I choose you, Luke -- for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, and all that other sentimental stuff that you say you don't believe in, but I know you do. No one's ever looked at me the way you do. I can't give that up. I love you, Luke. Do you still love me?
Luke: I'm crazy about you, doll. I always will be. And all that sentimental stuff.
Purser: A message for you from Mr. Spencer.
Laura: Oh. An invitation to dinner?
Purser: I'm afraid that's quite impossible. Mr. Spencer left the ship in Marseilles.
Laura: You must be mistaken.
Purser: I saw him disembark. That's when he gave me this note and asked me to make sure you received it.
Laura: Thank you.
Luke's voice: "I've never been much for saying goodbye, so I'm going to cheat and write what I couldn't tell you. I love you, Laura. For the first and only time in my life, I know what that means. I love you. But we can't last, so it's better to end it while we still have good memories. Be happy, darling. Try not to hate me too much. Luke."
Laura: I thought you left.
Luke: I did.
Laura: Did you forget something? Your cufflinks? Your revolver? Or did you realize that it would be just as easy to leave me when we get to Barcelona?
Luke: I can't leave you. I tried. I got all the way to the train station. When the ticket agent asked me where I was going, I couldn't think of a single city I wanted to visit. I couldn't think of anything in the world I wanted to see but you. Your face.
Luke: I used to think that the secret of life was never holding on to something you couldn't walk away from, but I was wrong. You proved me wrong.
Luke: I love you, Laura.
Laura: Until Barcelona?
Luke: Until the day I die. Why else would I have risked my neck trying to catch up to this tub before you read that letter?
Laura: But I did read it. I know the truth. We can't last.
Luke: The hell we can’t. That letter was the act of a desperate man trying to escape the one good thing in his life, trying not to give in to what he really wants and needs. But it's too late. I'm yours. I'm yours whether you want me or not.
Laura: I don't know what to do.
Luke: Yes, you do. Love me. Love me, Laura.
Laura: I do love you.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Jennifer: I'm flattered you remember.
Elizabeth: We have to end this.
Kristina: It's Sonny. How risky is it, getting close to him?
Alexis: They're beautiful. Thank you.
