Robin: Don't let me go.

Jason: I won't. I can't. I want you, everything about you.

Robin: That's so sweet to hear. I thought no one would ever say anything like that again.

Jason: Don't think. Just feel good, that's all.

Robin: Do you feel good?

Alan's voice: You're not sick, Lily. You're pregnant.

Lily: Oh, God. Not now.

Brenda: Lily doesn't know you're leaving her yet?

Sonny: No, but I think she's been expecting it. She's always known everything before I did, Brenda. Damn, you know, I thought in my warped way I was just being honest. She would say she loved me. I wouldn't say it back. She accepted that.

Brenda: She accepted too much.

Sonny: No. No, let's not blame Lily. This whole mess was my doing. See, I figured-- if she knew that I loved you when we got married, then that made it all right. I wasn't just telling lies, I was living them.

Brenda: You were just doing what you had to do.

Sonny: Never mind what it did to any of us inside, you know. I hurt everybody. But I thought I was doing the right thing, you know? I kept loving you, and I couldn't stop. So I kept up with the charade, but, hey, now nobody's going to have to pretend anymore.

Brenda: I can't believe this is really happening. Do you know that when I was in the hospital I used to have these dreams? Oh, they were so great. I used to dream that you were sitting there with me. You were saying all the things that you're saying to me right now. This isn't a dream, is it?

Sonny: No, baby, it's for real. I love you, Brenda. You know that, don't you?

Brenda: I always knew that. I was just afraid it didn't matter to you anymore.

Sonny: Oh, no, no, no.

Brenda: Well, now that I know it does, everything's going to be so perfect.

Sonny: Well, not yet, but we'll make it that way, you know. The first step, you need to know what you're up against, ok? I'm not going to put you through this without you knowing what's going on.

Brenda: I know.

Sonny: No. I made a deal. I'm going to have to break it. That means danger, more danger than I have any right to bring down on you.

Brenda: You don't understand what I'm saying. I know, ok? You think I'm going to let Lily's father kill me when I'm just about to get the only thing that I've ever really wanted? Rivera can't touch us.

Sonny: How did you find out?

Brenda: I saw Rivera the other day. He pulled me into his car.

Sonny: Did he hurt you?

Brenda: He didn't hurt me. He didn't hurt me. He tried to scare me, and it didn't work. What he ended up doing was giving me the greatest gift that I've ever received. He helped me to understand why you had to stay married to Lily. You see, I always thought it was because you didn't love me enough. And I found out that it was because you were protecting me, because you love me.

Sonny: Ok, Brenda, there's more that you need to know.

Brenda: I know everything. Listen, I know that Rivera helped you get out of jail.

Sonny: Yeah.

Brenda: And I know that you've got more power in the organization. You really need to understand that I don't care about any of that anymore. I just want to be with you. I want to grow old with you, Sonny. I want to have your children.

Sonny: Ok. There's something you need to know, though, ok, other than everything else. What you're used to, how you live? That can mean the end of all that.

Brenda: Ok. I understand. My life's been hell without you. I don't care. I know your life's been hell, too. I mean, it's been hell for Lily.

Sonny: I never meant to hurt her.

Brenda: I know you didn't. Listen to me. It's ok. All right?

Sonny: Yeah.

Brenda: It's all going to be over now. You're going to let her go, and she's going to heal, and we're all going to be happy.

Sonny: I am happy. My God, I don't know if I've ever been this happy, as I can remember. All right, listen to me. I need to make arrangements, ok? Meet me back here.

Brenda: Yeah.

Sonny: Huh? About an hour. Can you handle that?

Brenda: What do you think?

Sonny: Yeah. All right, I'll see you.

Jason: I love your touch. You're so soft. What? Did I hurt you?

Robin: No. I can't, Jason. I'm sorry, I just can't.

Jason: What is it? Is it the H.I.V.? I mean, we're protected, prepared, everything we talked about. Don't worry about it.

Robin: I know.

Jason: What's wrong?

Robin: I don't know. I don't know. I thought I could do this. God, I know I wanted to.

Jason: But now you don't? I did something wrong, didn't I? I mean, I scared you. Look, I'm not exactly experienced--I mean, not the way I remember. So if I'm clumsier or not turning you on, just--

Robin: No, no, no. You weren't being clumsy. You're wonderful. You were gentle and sexy and exciting. I never thought I could feel that way again.

Jason: Then what changed? You just got to tell me what to do.

Robin: I don't know. You were doing everything right, and then--I just saw Stone.

Jason: And you wanted him?

Robin: No, that wasn't it. Oh, I don't know. See, Stone was my first, my only lover. From the moment I saw him, there was never anybody else. We didn't have that much time together. It was only a few months before he found out how sick he was. But he took up my whole mind and my whole heart.

Jason: I guess that would be a lot to lose.

Robin: I don't want to lose him. But I want to live, too. I don't want him in bed with us. If I make love to you, I want it to be with you and not the past. Can you understand that?

Jason: Yeah, sort of. I think I can handle that.

Robin: Oh, I feel like such a fool. It just shocked me because it wasn't even like that at all. I mean, I was with you, wanting to be with you, and then all I could see was him, like a trick in my brain.

Jason: So is it's sort of a memory? That's all? If I had them, maybe my brain would be tracking back to what's-her-name. But that wouldn't mean I don't want you.

Robin: You must want to choke me.

Jason: No. All I want to do is hold on to you and make love to you. I mean, it's all I can do to keep from grabbing you.

Robin: You have every right to be angry at me. I mean, I know I'm angry. I mean, I know I wanted this. It's just like it blindsided me, and I didn't expect it, so it just plowed into me. I wish--I wish I could make it happen.

Jason: Don't. It's ok. This is tough enough for you. Grab your stuff, and I'll take you home.

Robin: All right.

Officer: You got it.

Mac: Thanks.

Luke: Commissioner.

Mac: Hey, Luke. I was just on my way out.

Luke: I'm going to need you to change your plans. I've got to have your help, Bubba.

Mac: I've got to have some dinner. Come on, we'll talk on the way to the car.

Luke: No, it has to be here.

Mac: How come?

Luke: This. I need--I need a way to take a look at this, and I assume you've got a videotape expert on call?

Mac: What's on that thing?

Luke: Well, I don't know. That's what I want to find out, but I assume that it's something that could clear my wife.

Mac: Well, how'd you get your hands on it?

Luke: I went fishing. It's waterlogged, but as far as I can tell it isn't broken, so please tell me you've got somebody who can restore it.

Mac: Yeah, I'll get somebody on it.

Luke: Somebody who can keep their mouth shut.

Mac: My techs don't discuss evidence.

Luke: Oh, I wouldn't call this evidence, Bubba.

Mac: Well, then what would you call it?

Luke: Personal property, which I acquired and therefore can do any damn thing with I choose. Look, I would do it myself, but I don't have the equipment or the know-how.

Mac: And you're asking me to provide it?

Luke: Well, I'm sorry to have to do that, Commissioner. The last thing I want is to involve you.

Mac: Sorry, you already did.

Sonny: Hey, thanks for getting here in a hurry.

Harry: No problem. You ok?

Sonny: Yeah, sure. Why?

Harry: What, you think I don't know when something's up? I mean, it's late, it's dark. You ask to meet me here instead of Luke's. We've got a problem, right?

Sonny: You know, that's what I like about you, Harry. You know how to read a situation real fast. That's why I never worry when you're in charge.

Harry: Well, I'm not in charge unless you're not here. Are you going someplace?

Sonny: I'm getting ready to leave town.

Harry: You leaving right away?

Sonny: As soon as I can arrange it. I won't be out of touch. I'll be calling in. But I need you to manage the day-to-day stuff. You don't have a problem with that, do you?

Harry: No. No, you know, whatever you need, Sonny.

Sonny: Good, then I'm counting on you to figure what that is a great deal of the time. But like I said, I'm going to be accessible, but you're going to have to wait till we make contact. We'll set up a system.

Harry: Yeah, ok. All right, I see numbers is no sweat. Waterfront's under control. Border traffic's moving smooth. Shouldn't be a hassle keeping it going that way for a while. How long are we talking here?

Sonny: As long as it needs to be.

Harry: So, do I make like you're still on the job?

Sonny: No, I'll be on the job, I just won't be on the scene. Nobody's going to have to know that for at least a couple of weeks. After that, you just say he's not available.

Harry: All right, I can take care of the nitty-gritty just fine, but I think we should put the negotiations on hold.

Sonny: Not necessarily, because if you can't contact me and there's a deal hanging fire, I trust your judgment.

Harry: Look, Sonny, I mean, I don't want to push you, but what's the time frame? Two weeks? A month? More?

Sonny: What if I said that I'm going to spend a year in Tibet or Timbuktu? Could you keep things going?

Harry: That's why God made cell phones.

Sonny: Good. Then we won't even sweat the time frame. Your job is to keep things oiled and running until you have to, but most important, over and above the operation, you keep Lily safe. I'm entrusting you with her.

Harry: She's not going with you?

Sonny: Lily will be staying here indefinitely. The bodyguards stay far enough away, so they don't smother her, but they are on the job as long as she stays here.

Harry: She'll be joining you later?

Sonny: No.

Harry: Sounds like you're not going alone. Sonny, what the hell? I mean, are you out-and-out asking for it? Rivera's going to take you down.

Sonny: No, he won't.

Harry: Well, you welsh on a deal--

Sonny: No, he's not going to harm the only man his daughter loves. He'll lose her again, this time for good.

Harry: I don't know.

Sonny: Trust me, Harry. You know, I couldn't do this without trusting you absolutely about everything.

Harry: Well, some things I can't control.

Sonny: Neither can I. That's why I'm leaving.

Brenda: I can't believe that you're here. I mean, I was just taking a chance.

Robin: Hmm, someone else who's psychic.

Brenda: What?

Robin: Never mind. So what's up?

Brenda: Nothing.

Robin: Come on, you left here all subdued and now you're all happy. I know you don't do drugs.

Brenda: No, but isn't it weird how fast things change in life?

Robin: Yeah, it is.

Brenda: Hey. What's up with you? You were so excited when I left earlier, and you're home so early. I mean, you didn't get stood up, did you?

Robin: No.

Brenda: No? But was your evening a disappointment?

Robin: I guess you could say that. Or you could say I was the disappointment. But never mind.

Brenda: No, don't say never mind. Looks like it's something major.

Robin: Well, I hope it isn't. It's just a mood. All right-- a major mood. But what I need right now is not for you to comfort me. I need a distraction, so just tell me.

Brenda: Tell you what?

Robin: Whatever's got that sappy little look on your face. I meant that kindly. So, what, did you win a prize or something?

Brenda: You could say that.

Robin: Ok. Blink if the prize is a guy.

Brenda: Oh, no, that's totally a set-up.

Robin: So what? So does this prize happened to be named Jax?

Brenda: No. No, not Jax. He's something completely different.

Robin: Sonny? Oh, come on, you can't say that much and then just stop.

Brenda: I didn't even say anything.

Robin: Yes, you did. It was written all over your face. Come on, what's going on? I know this is about Sonny.

Brenda: I just left him.

Robin: You never look this happy after you've just left him. Something is very different, something big.

Brenda: Oh, God. I have to tell you this. That is the whole reason why I came over here is because I just need to tell you this, because you're one of the only people that I trust--besides Lois. And I'm afraid if I tell her that she's going to tell me that I'm doing the wrong thing, and I know this is the right thing to do.

Robin: Would you just tell me, please?

Brenda: Stone was right. Sonny and I are going to be together.

Luke: You're involved because I'm asking you a favor, Mac. Again, yes, again. It's amazing how demanding I get when my wife's life is at stake.

Mac: Maybe if you came looking for cooperation, instead of special treatment.

Luke: Are you going to help me or not?

Mac: I get to help you, but I don't get to see what I'm helping with?

Luke: I'm afraid that's about it.

Mac: No way. No way. My man restores an evidentiary tape, I not only get to look at it, I own it.

Luke: Oh, man. I thought when you became police commissioner--

Mac: What, Luke? That you'd have an inside track? Well, guess what--you do. You know, I've been bending rules for you left and right, but I'm just not going to cross the line. Some things I just can't do.

Luke: You took this job knowing you could do any damn thing you pleased.

Mac: Yeah, to uphold the law. Now, I know just how much that means to you, but I'm sworn to do it, anyway.

Luke: What the hell is going on, man? They give you a guide book in mindless drivel along with your nightstick? You used to trust me. I mean, in san Antonio you trusted me. I let you drive the limo. I was in charge.

Mac: You're not in charge here.

Luke: Oh, so it's ego, then?

Mac: Right. And the way I see it, Luke, it's your ego. You have to be the one that gets Laura off, and nobody else.

Luke: Well, you know, I haven't had a lot of help in that area from the powers that be.

Mac: Bull! I have kept this case open despite the D.A.'s office. I have kept extra personnel on this case against everyone else's better judgment. Look, if you have got something that could bag the real murderer, I suggest that you don't hold out on me.

Luke: You'll get to see it, Commissioner, eventually.

Mac: What do you expect from me, Luke? I mean, if you wanted to keep that thing under wraps, why did you bring it to the police commissioner? Why didn't you just give it to Laura's lawyer?

Luke: It's a matter of trust.

Brenda: Are you going to say something? Because I can't tell if you're shocked or worried or what.

Robin: No, I'm not shocked. I mean, after what you told me about what happened at the ski lodge, I knew something had to happen. One of you had to make a move.

Brenda: And you figured it would be me. I did. I tried something, and it didn't work out at all. And afterwards, I was really ready to let go of it.

Robin: But now?

Brenda: But now--oh, I felt my whole life was over this morning, and tonight it just picked up again. Sonny came to me, and he told me that he's leaving Lily.

Robin: Leaving her and doing what?

Brenda: He's leaving her, and he's going to be with me. We're going to be together. Are you happy for us?

Robin: Of course, I am. I mean, I can't help but be. I know everything that you guys have been through, and I know how much you guys love each other.

Brenda: I know you do. I think you understand that better than anybody does. You know, Sonny fought us being together for so long, and he really, really tried to be there for Lily and to be loyal to her. He took their marriage so seriously, even though he knew that it was wrong. What? What?

Robin: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. It's so good to see you happy again, but I still can't help feeling something for Lily.

Brenda: You know, it's really weird. I feel bad for Lily, too. I know that you think that's hard to believe, but it's true. I do. Sonny never wanted to hurt her. He was trying so hard to do the right thing, you know? And he stayed with her and he realizes now that he was just hurting her, because she knew the whole time that he still loved me.

Robin: So what happens now?

Brenda: So now we're just going to be together, and I don't-- I'm not sure exactly what we're going to do, but whatever it is, it's going to be perfect.

Robin: Brenda, do you realize-- I mean, I don't want to say anything or do anything that's going to keep you from feeling what you're feeling right now, but there really is a lot to work out.

Brenda: I know that. Listen, I know exactly what you're talking about. I know everything that's going on, and Sonny is a really powerful person, and he knows what he has to do. And he knows how to take care of this. We're just meant to be together. We're like a part of each other.

Robin: I know how that feels. You just can't turn it off. You can't run away from it. Even though you can't have it.

Brenda: Hey. It's really important to me to know that you're happy, too-- not just happy for me.

Robin: I have been kind of happy sometimes lately.

Brenda: Yeah? Listen, whatever it is that has put you in this mood, I want you to just forget about it. It doesn't matter. It'll pass. I want you to remember every single day what a beautiful person you are. I've got to go.

Robin: Oh, here's your necklace.

Brenda: Ok.

Robin: Thank you.

Brenda: You're welcome.

Robin: We're still going to dinner Tuesday, right?

Brenda: I love you. You'll always be my little sister, but you're not that little anymore.

Woman: Little known, take me all alone, where I'm thinking underground, I'm your favor but wasted, you're stitched up and shiny light are inside

Carly: Hey, stranger. You remember me?

Jason: I remember.

Woman: We are all alone And I'm done 'cause we are all alone

Carly: It'll cost you-- a quarter.

Jason: What will?

Carly: To get into the game.

Woman: We are somewhere far along the way, oh, give me, take me

Carly: Do you think you could stand any closer?

Jason: I don't like games.

Carly: Then let's not play any.

Jason: My room's upstairs.

Carly: Good.

Jason: Let's go.

Woman: Come save me. Would you like it if I stayed all night turned out the light and made you feel all right? Would you like it if I took you home locked the door make you all my own? Would you like it if I don't go fast if we take it slow if we make it last? Would you like it if I caught your eye, if I broke your heart? There's nothing I wouldn't do, there's no one I'd rather be alone with, I want you, stand back, slow down, slow down, slow down

Brenda: Ok, I have to tell you something. No, wait, ok, let me go first, please, because I just want to tell you this.

Sonny: All right, go ahead.

Brenda: This is it. New program. Totally honest, no omitting anything.

Sonny: Ok.

Brenda: Ok, I went by Robin's place, and I told her about us. I didn't tell her any details or any specifics. I just told her that we're in love-- she already knew that-- and that we're going to be together. I figured that she really has a right to know, you know? We don't know when we're going to see her again. She really loves us.

Sonny: Ok, ok, I think that's a good thing. I'll talk to her, too.

Brenda: Ok. Oh, this is so great. I'm learning to trust my instincts again.

Sonny: They've done a pretty good job for you.

Brenda: I don't think I should tell Lois yet.

Sonny: Right. Can you handle that?

Brenda: Yeah. Actually, it's been kind of weird lately, you know. I haven't really been able to tell her everything, and she hasn't told me everything. I don't even know why she and Ned broke up-- that whole ordeal. I hope we never fight like that.

Sonny: We fight, we make up.

Brenda: I know you're right. We will. Honey, I love making up with you. I want you so much right now.

Sonny: Soon. Soon.

Brenda: I don't know if I can wait.

Sonny: We've waited this long. But first, you know, I've got to--

Brenda: I know. I know. I know, you have to tell Lily.

Sonny: Right.

Brenda: I understand. But then, after that, it's going to be you and me together.

Sonny: Maybe not.

Brenda: No, listen. I don't care if we have to hide out for a while. I understand that we have to do that, but it's going to be over at one point, and then it's just going to be me and you--

Sonny: Brenda--

Brenda: And we're going to be together--

Sonny: Listen to me--

Brenda: And everyone in the whole entire world can know, and if people don't like it, then who cares?

Sonny: Could I please get a turn here?

Brenda: I'm sorry. I'm just so happy, I can't help it.

Sonny: Ok. I need you to see that your passport is in order.

Brenda: Ok.

Sonny: We will be leaving at the end of the week.

Brenda: The end of the week?

Sonny: Yeah.

Brenda: I can't believe it. I can't believe we're going to be together. We're going to be free. What about Lily?

Sonny: Lily is going to be free, too. That's what she needs, and that's the least she deserves.

Lily: Te amo, mi amor. No te preocupes. I will do what's right. I will do what's right for you.
