Provided By Suzanne

Justin: Bonnie, I--we just--

Bonnie: No, you know what, why didn't you tell me that they'd rather poke out all three of their eyes than have dinner with me?

Kayla: That is not true.

Bonnie: Oh, really? 'Cause your husband's rolling his one good eye at me as we speak. You know what, forget this prix-fixe--I'm sorry, I beg your pardon--pre--four-course meal. I've lost my appetite.

Steve: Bonnie, bonnie, .

[Knocking on door]

Ava: Hey.

Tripp: Hey.

Ava: I thought you were on a date with allie.

Tripp: I was, but I had to cut it short when I got called back to the hospital.

Ava: Oh, is everything okay?

Tripp: Yes, no, it's fine. It just turned out to be a test. Dr. Snyder sometimes likes to remind me who's boss.

Ava: Ugh. You know, you really shouldn't have to put up with that.

Tripp: Nah, it comes with the job. But on the bright side, a patient did bring me pignolis, and I don't know anyone who loves them more than you do, so...

Ava: Mmm.

Tripp: Mm-hmm.

Ava: Homemade?

Tripp: Homemade, yeah.

Ava: Thank you. Thank you for thinking of me, but, um, what about poor allie?

Tripp: Oh, she doesn't like nuts.

Ava: You left her alone.

Tripp: [Chuckles] No, no, no, we were at the brady pub actually, and she wasn't alone.

Paulina: Did I hear you say you two kissed?

[Solemn music]

Chanel: Mama, I can explain.

Paulina: Chanel... I'm very disappointed in you.

Claire: Ben, hey, it's me again. I just wanna make sure that you're okay. Can you just call me when you get this, please?

Shawn: Hey.

Claire: Hey.

Belle: Honey, honey, put the broom down. You need to be resting after everything you've been through.

Claire: I just--I have all of this nervous energy I need to get out. I'm fine.

Shawn: Are you sure?

Claire: Yes, I just wish that I could say the same about ben.

[Knocking on door]

Rafe: Police! Who's in there?

Ben: Hey.

Rafe: Ben... I didn't expect to find you here.

Ben: Yeah. What's going on, man? Uh, is there a new lead on chloe and jan?

Rafe: They were rescued last night.

Ben: Well, that's great. Is chloe all right?

Rafe: Yeah, she's, uh--she's going to be all right.

Ben: Thank god. And what about jan? Is she in custody?

Rafe: Yeah, jan is never going to hurt anyone again.

Ben: Good. So, what's going on? What brings you up here?

Rafe: Yeah, right, I got a-- a call about some suspicious activity, so, decided to check it out myself.

Ben: I guess that suspicious activity would be me? At least I haven't seen anybody else.

Rafe: Right, yes, shawn said that you stayed behind after you saved claire.

Ben: Yeah, I just needed to clear my head, man.

Rafe: That was yesterday. Why are you still here, man?

Ben: Because of ciara.

[Sweeping orchestral music]

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Ava: Wait, chanel? Wait, why do I know that name? Oh, wasn't that the girl you told me about who ordered all that champagne and then left you and claire with the tab?

Tripp: Mm-hmm...

Ava: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Tripp: That's her. That's her. Uh, it turns out she and allie go way back.

Ava: Oh. Well, that's a coincidence.

Tripp: Yeah, it had been a while, but they recently reconnected, and now they're planning on going into a baking business together.

Ava: Mm...okay, this chanel girl does not sound like someone that I would wanna go into business with.

Tripp: Well, she didn't make the best first impression, I'll give you that, but once you get to know her, she's actually really cool. And I hope it works out for 'em.

Ava: But? I see it. Mm-hmm.

Tripp: This job means a lot to allie, and chanel's kind of all over the place.

Allie: What do you mean?

Tripp: Well, one week I know she's marrying xander cook for his money, and, uh, the next she's kissing allie.

[Solemn music]

Ava: Wait...what did you just say?

Chanel: Mama, it's not a big deal.

Paulina: Of course it's not. The big deal is that you've been keeping things from me. Why didn't you just tell me you were gay?

Chanel: Mama...

Paulina: Honey, your mother is a very straightforward, modern woman now. Now, why were you afraid to tell me the truth about who you are, baby girl?

Chanel: Mama, I'm not a lesbian.

Paulina: Oh. O--o--okay. Well, then why you were swapping spit with this girl?

Serena: It's my 3:10

Paulina: So, was she trying to recruit you? You know, like, for her team?

Chanel: Allie's not a lesbian either.

Roman: All right, chowder for the ladies.

Chanel: First of all, I kissed allie once.

Roman: Uh, should I come back later?

Abe: Uh, you need some help in the kitchen?

Paulina: Look, now, okay, I'm sorry if this conversation is making you both a little uncomfortable. I realize not everyone is as forward-thinking as I am.

Abe: Well, now, I don't--

Roman: As a matter of fact--

Allie: Actually, my big brother is gay, and grandpa here is totally cool with it, so, like chanel said, it's not a big deal.

Paulina: Well, if you're not gay and she's not g--you know, this is a wee bit confusing.

Chanel: Well, I'm not confused. Sometimes I kiss girls, sometimes I kiss boys.

Paulina: Oh, well, so you're bisexual.

Chanel: No.

Paulina: Okay, I give up. What are you?

Chanel: I'm your daughter, mama.

Paulina: Well, I know that.

Chanel: Why don't you sit down, we'll have dinner, and--

Roman: You know what, I'll, uh, bring two more bowls of chowder.

Allie: Actually, um, I should probably get going.

Chanel: Do you have to?

Allie: You know what, no, I can stay for a little while longer.

Ava: Wait, allie is cheating on you with a woman?

Tripp: No, it's not like that.

Ava: You just told me that allie was kissing chanel.

Tripp: And allie and i weren't together then. And allie said it was nothing, okay? Chanel is not the threat to our relationship.

Ava: Okay, then who is?

Tripp: My dead brother.

[Soft instrumental music]

Steve: I'm sorry, bonnie. I never should've agreed to this dinner.

Kayla: Steve--

Steve: No, let me finish, kayla. Now, I have been working to try to put what you did to my sister in the past, and I was going to try tonight to put it aside, I really was, but then when you showed up dressed like her, trying to be like her... I just lost it, because it reminded me of the hell you put her through...

and it made me miss her more.

Bonnie: Okay, I'm done. I really have lost my appetite.

Justin: Bonnie, bonnie--

Bonnie: No, please don't-- don't come after me. I just want to be alone, okay? Just, please?

Shawn: What's going on with ben?

Claire: I've tried calling him a few times, and he's just not picking up.

Belle: Why are you worried? Oh, he wasn't hurt when he saved you from the fire, was he?

Claire: No, no, it's just he's so upset about ciara sending the divorce papers. He loves her so much, I just-- I don't think he knows what to do without her.

Ben: Ciara keeps calling me about signing these damn divorce papers, man, and I just--I can't seem to bring myself to do it.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, letting go is hard, man. Can't blame ya. You know that I went through the same thing with her mother, right?

Ben: I just feel like these past few weeks, I've been going crazy.

Rafe: Okay, like, uh, crazy how?

[Solemn music]

Ben: Like, I have been seeing jordan, seeing her-- she's in my head, tormenting me, making me feel guilty about some choices I've made. I think on some level, I'm blaming myself for everything ciara went through.

Rafe: Right, well, you know, sometimes I see her too.

Ben: My sister visits you too?

Rafe: Yeah, well, you know, in my dreams. Yeah, you don't think that she's--she's--

Ben: No, no, I'm not talking about in my dreams, rafe. I'm talking about her showing up and talking to me while I'm awake.

Rafe: Okay. Have you talked to marlena about this?

Ben: No, but I will. Right now I'm just focusing on these damn divorce papers. I've just been sitting here staring at them.

Rafe: Yeah.

Ben: Now a part of me is wondering if maybe ciara really is better off without me.

Rafe: And the other part?

Ben: The other part is why I came here, man. This is where it all started for us. And now...

now it's killing me, because this might be the same place where it all ends.

Shingles? Oh... you mean bill.

Paulina: So, you're saying you're fluid?

Chanel: That's right.

Paulina: Just so I'm clear, this is different from bisexual how?

Chanel: Look, everybody has their own way of identifying, and I'm not really into labels anyway.

Paulina: Hm, your closet full of designer clothes says otherwise.

Allie: [Laughs]

Chanel: Ha-ha.

Paulina: I'm sorry if I'm being obtuse, but help me out here, abe.

Abe: Help you out with what?

Paulina: [Scoffs] Back in our day, you were either gay or not gay. You know, it was--you know, black or white, if you know what I mean. Like, since when did people start signing their emails with all their pronouns?

Allie: Not soon enough if you ask me.

Paulina: Well, I don't have a problem with it, it's just that I met a "they" the other day, and I'm like, I'm looking for all the other people.

Allie: Well, you'll get used to it. I mean, my grandma freaks out if you use an apostrophe in the wrong place. It was not easy for her to say, "'they' is going to the store." But even grandma marlena says that "grammar evolves with society."

Paulina: I didn't know you were marlena's grandbaby. She's a lovely, lovely person.

Allie: Mm-hmm, that she is.

Paulina: Oh... so, allie, your pronouns...

Allie: Are "she" and "her."

Paulina: [Exhales] I'm glad we got that out in the open.

Chanel: Me too. Thank you for understanding, mama.

Paulina: Ooh, I'm doing my best, baby. I'm doing my best.

[Soft instrumental music]

Steve: I'm really sorry, man.

Justin: So am I. And I've lost my appetite too.

Steve: [Sighs]

Kayla: [Sighs]

Steve: You're upset with me?

Kayla: I think maybe you're upset with yourself.

Steve: I am, but you--you know, I was willing to try, you know that, don't you?

But when she came in here, and she started imitating adrienne, I just couldn't--I couldn't take it. I just wanted to make her go away.

Kayla: Well, you succeeded at that. But you made justin go away too.

Steve: Yeah. He'll probably never forgive me, huh?

Kayla: Oh, I think he will. And maybe if you can try to put your grief and anger aside and have compassion for a really great guy, the father of your nephews and somebody that you have known and respected for a very long time. You know, justin, like you, was broken-hearted when you lost adrienne. Then after the whole thing that happened with me, I have been hoping that he would find happiness. And if bonnie makes him happy, who are we to judge?

Belle: Honey, I know that you and ben have gotten closer lately.

Shawn: And we can't tell you how grateful we are for everything that he did to make sure you got home safe.

Belle: But, listen, he needs to find a way to move on from ciara, and you can't help him do that. I mean, I am so proud of the caring friend that you've become, but I just think that you need to concentrate on taking care of yourself right now.

Claire: I'm fine, okay? As long as we don't have to worry about jan spears, you don't have to worry about me.

Shawn: Well, your mom and i just got back from the hospital.

Claire: And?

Shawn: And, uh, jan is in a coma. The doctors don't think that she's going to be able to recover this time, so, that means she's not going to be able to hurt us ever again.

[Solemn music]

Rafe: Like I said, I've been where you are. I know how hard it is to come to terms with ending your marriage.

Ben: But you agreed to a divorce.

Rafe: Ah. Not at first I didn'T. In fact, I was totally in denial when hope first sent me those papers.

Ben: So, what did you do?

Rafe: Threw them away.

Ben: [Chuckles]

Rafe: I did. I was so convinced that I could change her mind, that I could-- I could fix things, but, uh, she just kept sending me new copies. Then finally--finally I realized that if I really did love her, I needed to accept the fact that she didn't wanna be in a marriage.

Ben: So I need to love ciara enough to let her go? Is that it?

Rafe: I'm not going to tell you what to do.

Ben: Yeah, but that's what you're thinking, rafe. Right? Do you think I should sign them?

Rafe: If it's what ciara wants, I don't know that you have a choice.

Does scrubbing grease and food feel like a workout?

Rafe: You know, ciara's a lot like her mother. I--I've know her ever since she was a little girl. I've gotta say, she is the fiercest, most stubborn kid that I have ever met. You know what, actually one time, I, uh--I tried to make her eat peas, and in protest, she held her breath until she passed out.

Ben: [Laughs] Is that even possible?

Rafe: Well, apparently so. She did it.

Ben: Well, that sounds like ciara, who still hates peas, by the way.

Rafe: Oh, yeah?

Ben: Mm.

Rafe: But...listen, buddy, um, I know that you are holding on to the hope that she's gonna get her memory back, but even if that does happen, well, there's no guarantee that things are going to go back to the way they were.

Ben: Yeah. I guess they hardly ever do.

Rafe: Yeah. Hey... I am sorry. I really am.

Ben: Thank you, man.

[Soft music]

Rafe: Do you want a, uh-- you want a lift back to town or something?

Ben: Nah, nah, it's cool. I--I--I got the bike.

Rafe: Ciara's bike?

Ben: Yeah, parked it behind the cabin. I'm gonna take off for a little while.

Rafe: Okay. All right, well, uh, good luck. You'll figure it out.

Ben: Yeah.

Rafe: You will.

Ben: [Sighs]

Justin: Bonnie, I'm so sorry. I should've told you the truth from the start. And I should've never agreed to this whole evening, knowing that steve didn't really wanna be here. Here. I hate seeing you so sad.

Bonnie: Sad? I'm mad. I'm so tired of trying to twist myself up into some kinda bavarian pretzel just to get steve to like me, when all he wants is for me to just go away.

Justin: Well, I don't care what steve wants. The last thing I want is for you to go away.

Bonnie: They're your family.

Justin: You're my family too.

You know, the first time I ever met adrienne, I was walking through the park. She was sitting on a bench, crying.

Bonnie: Oh, great. I'm an adrienne copycat again.

Justin: [Chuckles] No, no. You are not. Although--[Clears throat]--When I first met her, she didn't know which fork to use or how to pronounce a single word in french.

Truth is I don't want you to be adrienne. I don't want you to be anyone but yourself... 'cause you're perfect just the way you are.

To be a thriver

Chanel: I do admit I was a little afraid about you finding out, you know, about allie and me kissing.

Paulina: Why were you afraid? You know your mother is a very forward-thinking modern woman.

Chanel: Well, I know you wouldn't care about the kiss per se, just about me going into business with the person I kissed. You know, "never mix business with pleasure, chanel."

[Soft music]

Paulina: Yeah, well, julie, she told me you're single, and I am personally a firm believer in mixing business with pleasure.

Abe: Oh?

Paulina: [Chuckles]

Abe: [Chuckles] Really? Is that what she says?

Paulina: Uh, well, um--uh...

Roman: All right, who wants leftovers?

Abe: Oh, you know, why don't you take that home, allie.

Allie: Oh, thanks, uncle abe.

Abe: Uh, roman, if you don't mind, can I take a rain check on that beer?

Roman: I'd mind if you didn't, partner.

Abe: [Chuckles] And, paulina, I mean, this could be old-fashioned of me, but do you mind if I offer to walk a forward-thinking modern woman home?

Paulina: [Laughs] I'm good with it.

Abe: There you are.

Paulina: Oh. [Chuckles]

Tripp: Allie and I were kissing, and then, all of a sudden, she just pulled away, upset.

Ava: And that was, uh, because of charlie?

Tripp: She said she was having flashbacks to the night he attacked her. And now you're upset.

Ava: [Sighs] No. Look, I just--I have terrible guilt over how I treated him. You know, I always will. It's the biggest regret of my life. And now he's gone, and allie, she--you know, she's--she's probably never going to recover after what happened to her.

Tripp: I--I don't agree. I--she'll never forget what happened, yeah, but she will recover. And she has henry now, who's such a great kid. I mean, she just told me she couldn't imagine her life without him. And another positive thing to come from all this...

Ava: What's that?

Tripp: Rafe moving you in here for protection? Huh? Things going well between you two?

Ava: Well, you know, I've-- I've never had anything like this in my life. I mean, yes, I--I loved your father, and he's a wonderful man, but as you know, uh, most of our relationship was not very healthy.

Tripp: Hm. And you're being realistic about rafe, right?

Ava: What, you mean am i obsessing over him like I did with your father? No. No, I do not spend all my time fixating on him. But I will tell you that when rafe comes home at the end of the shift, I, uh--it's really the best part of my day.

Rafe: Hey.

Ava: Hey.

Rafe: Hey, tripp.

Tripp: Hey.

[Door creaks open]

Claire: Uh, it's just me.

Ben: [Chuckles] Claire.

Claire: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.

Ben: [Exhales]

Claire: Rafe told my dad that you were still up here.

Ben: Yeah.

Claire: How are you doing?

Ben: I feel like I should be asking you that.

Claire: I'm fine, thanks to you.

Ben: Claire, it was dumb luck that I showed up here when i did. If your dad had arrived first, he would've been the one who put out the fire.

Claire: Except it was you.

Ben: Yeah, well, psycho jan's plan wasn't that well-thought-out.

Claire: Still, I am so grateful for what you did, ben, and, uh, I'm worried about you.

Ben: Claire, is that why you came up here?

Claire: Partially. I was also getting the vibe that my parents needed some time alone.

Ben: Yeah. I'm sure the last few days haven't been that easy on them either.

Claire: No.

Are you still figuring out what to do with these?

Ben: Well, my head and not to mention everybody else I talk to has been telling me one thing, but my heart is telling me another.

Shawn: Here you go.

Belle: Thank you.

Shawn: You're welcome.

Belle: You know that we've been dealing with jan spears on and off since we were teenagers?

Shawn: Mm-hmm, and it's over. Claire is safe, charlie's killer's been caught, and you are off the hook. And I think that we might just be home alone.

Belle: I think you're right.

Shawn: I love you, pal, and I'm sorry if I don't say it enough.

Belle: I love you too.

Why hide your skin if dupixent

Justin: Adrienne was one of a kind...

[Soft music]

But so are you, bonnie. Yes, you are family to me.

Bonnie: You mean that?

Justin: What is family if not someone who is there for you day in and day out, who offers comfort and companionship, who listens to you, supports you...

[Laughter] Who humors you?

Bonnie: [Laughs]

Justin: You take care of me in ways that I don't think you even realize. Like when you put those sweet little notes in my briefcase when I go to court.

Bonnie: Just so you know, you know, the things I do for you, it's not like some burden or anything.

Justin: Well, yeah...

Bonnie: I enjoy it.

Justin: I appreciate it very much.

Bonnie: You can stop thanking me already, really.

Justin: I'm not thanking you. I mean, I am, of course. But what I'm really trying to say is...

that...I love you.

Tripp: It was good to see you, mom.

Ava: Yeah.

Rafe: You don't have to run off on my account.

Tripp: Uh, no, actually i have a freezer full of chicken breasts to practice sutures on.

Rafe: Ooh, fun. And gross.

Ava: Thanks for the cookies, hon. I'll talk to you soon, all right?

Tripp: Yes, I'll see you guys later.

Rafe: See ya, tripp.

Ava: Thank you.

Rafe: Cheers.

Ava: Cheers. How was your day?

Rafe: Mm. Unproductive. I got a--a tip to go out to the cabin where claire was held hostage yesterday.

Ava: Oh. Was someone there?

Rafe: Ben weston. Yeah. He was licking his wounds, so to speak. Ciara sent him divorce papers, and he didn't know what to do.

Ava: Yeah, ah, that's rough.

Rafe: Mm-hm. Yeah. Reminded me of my experience with that.

Ava: Yeah, I remember how upset you were when you got the call that, um, hope wasn't coming home. I know she means a lot to you.

Rafe: Yeah. She did.

Ben: I had a long talk with rafe.

Claire: What did he say?

Ben: He told me that I have to respect ciara's wishes, and whether or not I'm ready to sign these damn papers, if she wants our marriage to be over, I have to accept that.

Claire: So, does that mean that you're going to sign them?

Chanel: Thanks for hanging around tonight. I really appreciated the moral support.

Allie: Well, I'm happy to help.

Chanel: Sorry my mom thought we were a couple.

Allie: It's cool. Although it is a little bit weird that my grandpa knows we kissed.

Chanel: Well, he handled it well, or at least he covered it.

Allie: I can't even imagine what he's thinking.

Chanel: I'm sorry about that.

Allie: No, it's fine, really. If people think you and I-- I don't mind.

Abe: [Chuckles] Well, this was quite an evening.

Paulina: [Chuckles] I guess I got schooled...

[Laughter] As the kids say. Do they still say that?

Abe: Don't ask me.

Paulina: Well, thanks for helping me navigate through it.

Abe: Well, I will be your dinosaur sidekick anytime.

[Laughter] You know, uh, you and chanel have had your ups and downs since you arrived in town.

Paulina: Yeah, ever since she turned into a teenager at the age of six.

Abe: Well, I went through the same with theo. An old soul, I used to say. But it gets better.

Paulina: It has to, right?

Abe: [Chuckles] You know, tonight I saw a mother and daughter who truly love each other.

Paulina: That we do... even when we hate each other.

Abe: You know, I think if you can help chanel start her business in the horton town square, it would be a great experience for both of you.

Paulina: Hm, ah, let's hope so. Um, you know, my new neighbors wouldn't appreciate us standing out here in the hall gabbing.

Abe: Oh, oh, yeah.

Paulina: Thanks for walking me home.

Abe: Oh, that was my--my pleasure.

Serena: It's my 3:10

Bonnie: I could've sworn you just said--

Justin: I love you.

Bonnie: Say it again.

Justin: I love you, bonnie.

Bonnie: Okay, now pinch me, 'cause I know this ain't real.

Justin: It's as real as it gets.

[Soft music]

I believe this is the first time I've seen you at a loss for words.

Bonnie: Oh, I got the words.

[Chuckles] I got 'em right here.

Justin, I love you too.

Abe: Well...

[Both chuckle] Never mix business with pleasure.

Paulina: [Chuckles] I never said that I practice what I preach.

Abe: Lucky me.

Paulina: Would you like to come in for a nightcap?

Abe: I would like that.

Paulina: [Chuckles]

Follow me.

Abe: [Chuckles]

Tripp: Hey, you two.

Allie: Uh, tripp, hi.

Tripp: Hey. Hey, chanel.

Chanel: Hi.

Allie: Um, I thought you were at work.

Tripp: Yeah, I was for, like, two seconds.

Allie: Oh, well, that's good, 'cause I was just on my way to the hospital to bring you this.

Tripp: What is this?

Allie: It is a piece of key lime pie from the pub, since we didn't get to order dessert.

Tripp: Oh, that is so sweet, thank you.

Chanel: Sweet.

[Laughter] Okay, I'll leave you guys to it.

Allie: Actually, I should get going too. I really have to get home to henry.

Tripp: Oh, oh, okay, uh, I'll text you.

Allie: Yeah.

Tripp: Thank you for the pie.

Allie: Of course. Night, chanel.

Chanel: Later.

Allie: Night, tripp.

[Solemn music]

Rafe: What is it?

Ava: Nothing.

Rafe: Tell me.

Ave: It's just that, um... I said that I know how much that hope means to you, and, um, you said she did.

Rafe: Yeah?

Ava: Past tense.

Rafe: Hm.

Ava: So, did you do that on purpose?

[Soft music]

Rafe: You know, it wasn't that long ago that I thought hope and I would never be past tense.

Ava: And that changed.

Rafe: Yeah... because of you.

I love my job, I really do, but I have to say, the best part of my day is when I walk in that door and I see you.

Ava: [Chuckles]

Rafe: What? Why are you smiling?

Ava: [Stammers, laugh] Why do you think? Huh?

Rafe: [Mumbles] I don't know.

Ava: [Chuckles]

Rafe: Take this elsewhere?

[Both laugh]

Ava: Yeah, I think we should.

Belle: You wanna take it to the bedroom?

Shawn: I like the way you think. Yes, please.

After you.

Claire: Okay?

[Solemn music]

Ben: Someday, it might truly be over for ciara and me...

[Soft dramatic music]

Ben: It's just not going to be today. I'm not done fighting for her.
