(Missing the end; we'll have it up soon)
Kate: Knock it off, viv. You know exactly who I am.
Vivian: How could I? I've never seen you before.
Kate: Yeah, right. Well... maybe you'll know who this is. Oh, you're not going to say hello to your long-lost son?
Vivian: I'm sorry. You're confusing me.
Kate: Really? Because I'm being completely straightforward with you. This is jacob, stefan's twin brother. You remember. You met him in salem, right? When you came back here to kill lani at her own wedding, the same time you died?
Vivian: The fact that I'm alive proves that you must be the one lying.
Kate: Ha! Well, I should have known you'd deny your flesh and blood to save your own ass.
Nicole: Hi, rafe. Come in. So are you here to visit duke?
Nicole: Uh-oh. This is serious, isn't it?
Rafe: Yeah, it's, uh, police business. Is allie here? It's about charlie.
Charlie: Hello, mother.
Ava: Nope. Nope, you're not real.
Charlie: I thought I was real. I-I feel real.
Ava: Nope. You're locked up. They arrested you. I'm, um--
[Chuckles] I'm dreaming.
Charlie: Yeah, yeah, this whole thing has been a nightmare, but good news... the nightmare's over, and charlie is going to live happily ever after.
[Breathing heavily] What the hell was that?
[Breathing heavily] Oh, thank god. Oh, thank god it was just a dream. Oh, my god.
[Breathing heavily] Stay alive, ben. We both have to stay alive if I'm gonna come home to you.
[Knock at door]
Claire: Hey. I was, uh--I was just coming to see how you were doing. But you look really pale.
Ben: Maybe that's because I just died.
Ben: I dreamed about ciara, and I don't know how I know this, but I'm pretty damn sure she was dreaming about me, too. Days of our lives."
Rhodes: Hope you're not getting any more ideas from that sentimental claptrap.
[Tapping on glass] Mm, mm, mm.
Ben: It was like romeo and juliet, only me as romeo and ciara as juliet. Claire, I'm telling you, it was so real.
Claire: Well, it's valentine's day. I mean, of course you're thinking about her.
Ben: But you know how they say you can never die in your own dream? I was dead. I was watching me dead, and ciara woke up. She took the dagger and--
Claire: Hey, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. This--it must have been awful.
Ben: It was, but in a way, it wasn'T. Claire, I don't know how, but I'm pretty sure ciara was having the same dream at the very same time.
Claire: Look, it was a really intense dream, but it was just a dream.
Ben: No, no, it wasn't just a dream. It was more than that, and I can prove it to you. "Thus, with a kiss, I die."
Claire: That's romeo's last line.
Ben: How did you know that?
Claire: Because I've read the play, and I've seen the movie, like, three times.
Ben: Okay, well, I've never seen the play. I've never read the book. I never saw the movie. How the hell would I know that line? It's because ciara knows the play. She was in my head, and she was in my heart, and this morning we were together... in our dreams.
Charlie: So I just stopped by to say hi, give you the good news. I can't stay long because I'm gonna go get valentine's flowers for claire.
Ava: [Chuckles] You are dreaming if you think that claire or any other girl on this planet is going to want to have anything to do with you.
Charlie: Hope springs eternal.
Ava: Allie horton remembered that night. She's ready to testify. You're going down.
Charlie: Well, I didn't do anything wrong, and apparently the london police agree 'cause they dropped all the charges.
Ava: No. No, that's not even possible, because the dna test proved that you're the baby's father.
Charlie: That's right, granny. You see, I didn't deny that I was with allie. I know that you're gonna find this really hard to believe, but allie rejected tripp. I know you think he's an adonis, but apparently she didn't, so she gave him the thumbs-down, and she chose me.
Ava: No, I don't find it hard to believe. I find it impossible to believe.
Charlie: You are so... flippin' predictable. But you know what? It doesn't matter what you think. Allie and I are the only people that know what happened that night.
Ava: You admitted what you did. You think it just slipped my mind that my youngest son admitted that he raped a girl?
[Clicking tongue] Mother.. that was another one of your delusions, but now that you're back with us in reality, let me set you straight. Anything that I did with allie horton was 100% consensual. At least, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Nicole: How in the hell, in this day and age, when a woman says that she was assaulted, held down, and raped, does no one believe her?
Rafe: Okay, well, it's not about believing allie. It's about proving if he assaulted her or not.
Nicole: Henry has his dna. That's proof.
Rafe: Well, it's not proof that he raped her. It's proof that they had sex.
Rafe: Look, I don't like it either, nicole. I don't, okay? But the london authorities say, and I believe them, that they were not able to make a case. She didn't come to them. She said it was with another man.
Nicole: Oh, god, you know what, rafe? I don't want to hear this.
Nicole: I have heard enough male justification about boys being boys to last me the rest of my life.
Rafe: Well, you know what? Believe it or not, so have I.
Nicole: I believe it. I mean, of course I believe it. I'm just taking my anger and frustration out on you, and you don't deserve it.
Rafe: Hey, it's okay. Hey, it's all right. If it makes you feel better to unload on me, then go ahead. Do it.
Nicole: [Scoffs] Your job sucks.
Rafe: My job sucks, yes. Yeah.
Nicole: So you said you wanted to ask me a question.
Rafe: Yeah. I was just, um... I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to tell allie. And I'm not shirking my job here. I'll do it. It's just... I thought maybe it would be better coming from you.
Nicole: I don't know how to answer that. I mean, it seems like... it would be better coming from me... woman-to-woman, as a friend.
Rafe: Well, not just a friend, a lifeline.
Nicole: But the problem is, rafe, I don't know if I could stop myself from saying that creep is not gonna get away with it because he may not have to face a judge and jury, but he's sure as hell gonna face me.
Vivian: This is not jacob. Jacob is a tiny, little baby.
Kate: Jacob was a tiny, little baby decades and decades ago when you could still have children, viv.
Vivian: No. Jacob is home with his sister, stefania, and ivan is there taking care of them. What kind of a police state is this that will keep a mother from her children?
Kate: The same kind of state that would arrest a kidnapper and then give the babies back to the parents that she stole them from.
Vivian: You are an awful, awful woman.
Vivian: Why are you torturing me?
Kate: Okay, I'm not torturing you. I'm trying to get you to cut the crap.
Vivian: Oh, language.
Kate: This is jacob. Your son stefan was shot dead. You got revenge on the policewoman who shot him by having your man ivan steal her babies.
Vivian: You have a wild imagination.
Kate: But ivan no longer has those babies because he's in a police cell, the same place you're going to be, finally.
Rafe: Nicole... I'm an on-duty cop, so you really shouldn't be telling me about your plans to take the law into your own hands.
Nicole: It was not an idle threat.
Rafe: Exactly what you should not be telling me! But let me tell you something, and I do not know how to make this more clear. Stay away from charlie dale, because if you go near him, you could end up screwing my only hopes of putting that son of a bitch behind bars.
Ava: Oh, no one is ever going to believe that what you did to allie horton was consensual. I'm your mother, and I know that it's a lie.
Charlie: Your faith in me has always been such a comfort.
Ava: You know how hard it is to be an embarrassment to my family? I know the things they've done, and, yes, I know the things that I have done, but to rape a woman, to get her pregnant and then gloat about it? You disgust me. I can't even look at you.
Charlie: Oh, no. Oh, no, oh, you can't even look at me? Oh, how will I go on? News flash, mother... I don't give a damn what you think about me, not anymore. I've made it my way, finally, on my own.
Ava: [Laughing] Yeah, right.
Charlie: I have been cleared of the charges. I have a good job, and, most importantly, I have claire. I have my soul mate.
Ava: Oh. Does your soul mate want to be with a man who assaults women?
Charlie: I was cleared of that.
Ava: Yeah, well, you weren't cleared of assaulting me, of kidnapping me, drugging me, tying me up!
Charlie: In my opinion, that was just another "he said, she said."
Ava: Oh, okay, well, this time the she happens to be your mother.
Charlie: Ugh, don't remind me.
Ava: And more than that, the salem pd can weigh in on this one because it was a salem cop who broke into your apartment and found me tied up to one of your chairs, hallucinating on drugs that you gave me.
[Softly] Hard to call that consensual.
Charlie: Hmm. Given your history, who knows? That could have been your idea of a dream date.
Ava: Oh, you little smart-ass. You think you can talk to your mother that way? Hmm? Well, I've already given a statement to the salem pd, and I'm gonna make sure that you are locked up so you can't hurt me, tripp, allie horton, claire brady, or anyone ever again.
Claire: The thing is, ben, even if you never read it, everyone knows "romeo and juliet." You probably saw it when you were young.
Ben: Let's just say there wasn't a whole lot of shakespeare where I came from. If people drank store-bought whiskey, they were considered high class.
Claire: Okay, look, you must have seen the movie. You know, it's got--it's got leonardo dicaprio and claire danes.
Ben: Wait, with the iceberg?
Claire: No. No, that was the "titanic." This is "romeo and juliet" but with guns instead of swords.
Ben: Claire, I'm telling you right now, if I had seen it, I would have remembered that. And, yes, I know romeo and juliet's families hated each other. We did have a lot of that where I came from, but I wasn't gonna sit back and watch a movie where all these people talk like...
Ben: "Deny thy father, and refuse thy name, or if thou wilt not, be but sworn by my love, and I'll no longer be a capulet."
Claire: [Scoffs] Oh, my god.
Ben: It's from the play, isn't it?
Claire: It's the balcony scene.
Ben: The balcony scene-- how else would I know the balcony scene from "romeo and juliet" unless I was with ciara?
Rhodes: I think I made a mistake.
Ciara: People who play god usually don't admit mistakes.
Rhodes: I was sentimental... let you keep that book 'cause it was valentine's day. Thought you could have a little vicarious romance.
Ciara: It wasn't vicarious. I saw ben in my dream, and he saw me in his.
Rhodes: [Chuckles mockingly] One can only imagine his nasty little dreams.
Ciara: His dream was the same as mine. We were in the play. He was romeo, and I was his juliet.
Rhodes: So you're claiming to have some kind of psychic connection to him?
Ciara: Oh, I know that I do.
[Chuckles] Go ahead and have your little fantasy, but just remember... "romeo and juliet" is a tragedy.
Ciara: Huh. Well, ben and I aren'T. We're going to end up together, and I'm talking together alive, in salem, and not in some stupid afterlife.
Ben: She's so smart. She's so damn smart.
Ben: Yes, ciara. Who else would make me dream about "romeo and juliet"? Who else would pick that? Yes, I know "romeo and juliet' is a love story, but she wasn't trying to tell me that we're in love. That wasn't the point.
Claire: Well, then what was?
Ben: So this guy romeo-- he finds her. She looks dead. He gets all worked up and romantic, and he offs himself, which is the ultimate form of throwing in the towel, right? Idiot.
Claire: Well, no.
[Scoffs] He loved her so much that he couldn't bear to live without her.
Ben: Except she wasn't dead. If the guy had hung on for ten more minutes or so, everything would have been fine. Ciara picked the play where the girl wasn't dead. She wasn't trying to tell me that we're in love. She didn't have to. She was trying to tell me to not give up hope, to not throw in the towel. Ciara's alive, claire. I know it. I feel it, and she needs my help--she's in danger.
Claire: Wait, where are you going?
Ben: I'm going to statesville. I'm gonna talk to vincent.
Ciara: You know, I still don't get why you're doing vincent's dirty work for him. He's locked up for life, and when ben finds me, you will be, too. Is it really worth the money?
Rhodes: Well, making as much as I am, yes, it is. Not all of us can afford to be romantics. There's someplace I got to be, so I'll leave you to your fantasy life. I'll be back in a while.
Ciara: Oh... going to your "hired henchman" support group?
Rhodes: It's valentine's day. I have a date... a real date, not some romance novel fantasy.
Ciara: Lucky girl... or whatever.
Vivian: You really are an unpleasant person. Accusing me of things I didn't do? Things I don't know anything about.
Kate: Well, maybe I can begin to list all of the unimaginable things that you have gotten-- that you have gotten away with since I've had the misery of knowing you.
Vivian: You seem unable to let go of the past.
Kate: You are damn right... damn right... because you took my unborn son, phillip, from my body. You used your body as an incubator for months, and then you claimed him as your own, and I will never, ever let go of that. And that's why now I am willing to do whatever I have to do to make sure that you pay for taking yet another woman's baby.
Vivian: Wow. I think your great-aunt is a candidate for her own padded cell.
Kate: Oh, yeah, you--
Jake: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Hey, kate, come on. Hey.
Jake: Let's take a break, huh? Don't let her get to you. She's not going anywhere.
Vivian: Oh, young man? You seem like a decent sort, and I was wondering if you could be an angel and get me some sparkling water with a twist of lime.
Jake: You want me to fetch you water?
Vivian: Well, I've always depended on the kindness of strangers.
Jake: Whatever you say, blanche. That's right, I took a theater class in high school.
Rafe: So charlie's still facing the kidnapping charges. I already have ava's statement, and she told me that she is willing to testify against him. So just hold on, okay? Okay. I promise you that I am gonna do everything in my power to make sure that charlie is put away for a very, very long time.
Charlie: I see now. It wasn't just because tripp was your favorite. You hated me, your own son.
Ava: I hate what you have done.
Charlie: Oh, don't you take that high moral road with me. This is not about right and wrong. This is old-fashioned vitali revenge. I bested you, and you're gonna pay me back by ruining my life.
Ava: Mi amore... you didn't best me. You tied me to a chair, and you drugged me, but you did not best me... because you got caught, and now I'm gonna make sure that you pay for what you have done. You're a loser.
Charlie: No, not anymore. You have done everything to belittle me and make me doubt myself, but not anymore. I have an important job, and I have claire.
Ava: Being an errand boy is not an important job, and your soul mate, claire, she goes to the funny farm like most girls go to the nail salon.
Ava: Don't think that "my mommy didn't love me" is gonna be an adequate defense. The judge and the jury are gonna see what I see-- a dangerous sociopath.
Charlie: Well, I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Maybe I am a dangerous sociopath. And since you're the one thing standing between me and getting what I want, I have to make sure that you're not available to testify, on account of, you know... being dead.
Ava: Oh, you really think that you could kill me here and get away with it?
Charlie: You know better than most that patients in this hospital can take an unexpected turn for the worst.
Ava: Oh, think about it, charlie. You're outmatched. You know, it's pathetic, really pathetic, when a supposedly grown man threatens go mano a mano with his mommy. But it's even more pathetic when he loses... and you know you will. I mean, you know that I'm a better fighter than you. You know that you are not man enough to take me down.
Charlie: We'll just have to see about that, won't we?
Rafe: Hey. Charlie? Not interrupting anything, are we?
Jake: Hope this is okay for her ladyship. You know, they didn't seem to have twists of lime in the vending machine.
Kate: You know, I am so sorry that I blurted that out about phillip. I really am. I just-- you know, in the moment, I forgot that she was your mother, but I should not have said that.
Jake: Hey, hey, come on. She's my mother by definition only... okay? Of course you feel that way. Of course you hate her.
Jake: It's understandable, and more than anything, you can see... the hell she just put eli and lani through.
Kate: But you're right. I let her get to me, you know? I reacted, and I got angry, and then I started to list what she's done to me. You know, and she doesn't care. She does not care because she doesn't have a soul and she doesn't have a conscience.
Jake: Boy, you're really not giving up, are you?
Kate: Never, ever. I'm just gonna change gears.
Claire: Wait, ben, don't!
[Both sigh] Please. Okay, okay, listen, I-I don't know how you did it because it is so deeply weird, but you--you've convinced me. I think you're right about the dream, that ciara's alive and she was telling you that, and I think you're right to want to go and find her.
Claire: But I don't think you want vincent to know that you know. Look, he is not gonna help you. He's just going to mess with your head. He's not gonna give you anything that's gonna help, but if you tip your hand... it could be dangerous for ciara.
Ben: If he knows where she is, I'm gonna make him tell me.
Claire: Hey, whoa, you just said that romeo was an idiot for acting in the heat of the moment. Just stop... and count to ten and think. Do you really think that going to see vincent is the best idea? Really?
Ben: You should have been in there with romeo.
Claire: Well, I don't think that he would have listened to me either, so...
Ben: Well, I've listened. You've been heard.
[Keys clatter] Thank you for talking sense to me.
Claire: [Chuckles] Okay, there is one more thing that I want to say.
Claire: There is someone who can help you connect with ciara, someone who only wants to help.
Ben: Don't tell me that loon susan banks.
Kate: You know, I really thought that seeing you would shake her out of this.
Jake: I don't think I matter enough.
Kate: That's not true. Her one shred of humanity is the fact that she cares about her kids.
Jake: If she cared that much, why's she treating me like a water boy?
Kate: Because you're safe. If you were at risk or if you were threatened, then she'd strike like a cobra... which is why we have to make her think you're in jeopardy.
Jake: What, are you gonna put a gun to my head?
Kate: No. I'm gonna do something that's going to scare her even more.
Charlie: A visit from the police? Is it a crime to visit my mother in the hospital?
Nicole: Uh, yeah, it is if he's the one who put her here. Are you okay?
Rafe: You want him gone?
Ava: Oh, yes, I do.
Charlie: Ma, you should've told me that you were tired. Get some rest. Get strong, and then you can come home soon.
Ciara: Perfect. Okay.
Claire: Someone who just said his deceased wife came to him in his dreams and taught him shakespeare might want to be careful about who he calls a loon.
Ben: Ciara is alive.
Claire: And you know who agrees with you? Susan. She's the one who told us that ciara was alive and some guy is holding her captive.
Ben: Yeah, inside of a glass box with a shark.
Claire: Ben, we don't know how this works. I mean, she can program your dreams, but don't you think she would have given you an address if she could? Look, you have to interpret the dream, so... I mean, susan's a psychic. We have to interpret what she saw. You say that ciara's reaching out to you. Well, she reached out to susan, too, and we would be stupid to turn our backs on that. Look, think of susan like a-- like a first-generation smartphone. There are a lot of bugs, but she's still got a way to connect with the person on the other end of the line.
Nicole: Did he threaten you?
Ava: Yeah. It's a good thing you showed up when you did.
Nicole: He was gonna hurt you?
Ava: Oh, I was gonna hurt him.
Rafe: Yeah, I-I came to ask if you were still willing to testify against him.
Ava: Goes against everything the vitali family stands for. But like I told him... you hurt a woman, you brag about getting away with it... I am gonna do everything I can to stop that from happening ever again.
Ben: You're right. Do you think she's back in memphis?
Claire: She stayed with my grandma last night. I bet she's still here.
Ben: All right, well, then let's go.
Claire: Uh... ben, maybe I should go. Look, you just-- you can get a little intense, and we don't want to scare her off. Look, just let me talk to her. I will get her on board... and then you and her can figure out where ciara is.
Ciara: Come on, come on. Come on.
Vivian: I really need to be ge
