Maggie: Oh, good morning, Darling. Have you seen Philip?
Sarah: Isn't he in his room?
Maggie: Well, no, I went to take him up some coffee, but his bed doesn't look
like it was slept in.
Sarah: You don't think he stayed here last night.
Maggie: [Chuckles] Why do you look so worried? He probably went into Chicago and
decided to spend the night and checked into a hotel.
Sarah: Or he's dead!
Brady: Chloe? Open up. It's me.
Philip: Good morning, Sunshine.
Kristen: I know why you didn't tell me about Chloe. You didn't want to hurt my
feelings. Thanks to that picture, I know everything. I know that it's over
between us and that you're moving on with her.
Brady: No, stop, no, God, no.
Brady: No, Kristen! Kristen, I went to the office last night because I was
trying desperately not to think about you that night, all right? I thought I
could bury myself in spreadsheets and budgets, and... [Doorbell rings] I'll get
Julie: I wonder if it's some news.
Abe: Hello, Doug.
Doug: Come in, come in.
Abe: All right, thank you, thank you. Ah, so good to see you, Julie.
Julie: Oh, good to see you. Have any news? Any news about Jules and Carver? Any
Abe: Well, as a matter of fact, I do.
Kristen: You know, Brady, um, came by the other day, and he showed me pictures
of the beautiful babies.
Lani: [Chuckles] They're amazing.
Kristen: Oh, my God, they're two wonderful miracles. I--I am so sorry this
happened to you.
Lani: Yeah. I'm so scared.
Kristen: Of course, you are. Of course, you are, honey. You know, I don't know
why you came to see me. You should be out there searching for them.
Lani: I have been! That's why I'm here! I don't know what else to do! I just--I
am hoping that you can help us find the babies.
Eli: You have a way to find Dr. Raynor? Xander, yes, no? What is it?
Xander: When I paid Amanda to leave Salem, I gave her an untraceable phone.
Eli: For what?
Xander: So, I could check in on her. I made it clear that if she knew what was
good for her, she would always answer.
Eli: Did you ever call her?
Xander: Yeah, a few times. Just to make sure she stayed away from Salem and kept
her mouth shut about the baby switch.
Eli: When was the last time you spoke with her?
Xander: Over a year ago. That's why I forgot about the phone. Once the truth
came out about the baby switch, wasn't a lot of point in staying in touch.
Eli: You think she still has it?
Xander: It is possible.
Eli: Okay, well, you need to call that phone. Now!
Maggie: Honey, why would you think that Philip is dead? Just because he didn't
come home last night.
Sarah: I'm sorry. Yeah, that--
Sarah: That was an overreaction.
Maggie: Well, it was more than an overreaction. You know something, Sarah. Tell
me what's going on. Sarah?
Sarah: [Sighs] Okay. You're right, I can't lie to you. Um...
Maggie: Oh... I'm getting nervous here.
Sarah: No, I, um... Philip is in trouble. With the mob.
Maggie: What? How did this happen?
Sarah: Gambling. He racked up quite a debt. A debt that's owed to Ava Vitali and
Maggie: Oh, no. Oh!
Sarah: It's the real reason that he came home and asked for the CEO job.
Maggie: And he needed the money.
Sarah: No, it's worse than that, Mom. The Vitalis said that they would kill him
unless he laundered money through Titan.
Maggie: How do you know this?
Sarah: We have proof.
Sarah: Xander and I found it on Philip's computer.
Maggie: Wait a minute, wait a minute. You and Xander broke up.
Sarah: No, actually, we just-- we were p-- we pretended to be so that I could
befriend Philip, and he would let his guard down.
Maggie: I can't believe this is happening. I really can't.
Sarah: I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you sooner.
Maggie: But you do think that Philip is in danger.
Sarah: Xander shut down Philip's operation, and now Philip is a--he's afraid
that if the mob finds out, then they're gonna come after him. What if that's why
he didn't come home last night?
Brady: So, did you two have a good night or what?
Chloe: Oh, relax, Brady. Philip slept on the sofa.
Brady: I'm not concerned about where he slept. I'm concerned that he's here at
all. He doesn't give a damn that you have a target on your back.
Chloe: Can you please just calm down?
Brady: No, I'm not gonna be calm about this. Philip, you told me that you were
concerned about her safety, right?
Philip: I am.
Brady: Well, then what are you thinking?
Chloe: He's thinking that I'm perfectly capable of keeping us both safe, and
since he spent the night here and we're both alive to tell the tale, I don't see
any problem with him staying here.
Brady: For how long?
Chloe: For as long as it takes.
Brady: Are you sure about this?
Philip: No. Look, Chloe, I appreciate how generous you've been, but Brady's
right. Your safety comes first.
Chloe: This is not Brady's call.
Philip: Well, he's agreed to help, so he's involved in this now. It's worth a
Chloe: It is. And I will have that conversation with Brady.
Philip: Is that your way of asking me to beat it?
Chloe: No, I just think you should go home and get some of your things so that
you can camp out here for the long haul.
Philip: Okay. But call me if you decide you don't want me to come back.
Chloe: I want you to come back, but please just be careful out there.
Philip: I always am. I can slip in and out of the Inn without anyone seeing me.
Brady: Do you realize the risk you're taking?
Chloe: It's a risk that I'm willing to take.
Brady: Chloe, just because you were safe here for one night does not mean that
this is a good idea to have him here permanently.
Chloe: [Sighs] You've made your point, Brady.
Brady: Have I? Have I? Because you came to me for help. You asked me for my
help. I'm willing to give it. I'm willing to find him a safer place to hide.
Julie: But that doesn't make any sense! Why would a doctor--a doctor-- steal
Abe: We don't know for sure. But it is the same doctor that switched Kristen and
Julie: Oh, my God! Well, if they're capable of something like that, she could be
capable of anything, Abe! You have got--you've got to find her!
Doug: Julie, Julie, Julie. Are you okay, sweetheart? Hey. Hey.
Kristen: You think I can help you find the twins? How?
Lani: We have a suspect. Bonnie Lockhart saw this woman with our babies in the
Kristen: Okay, that's great! Who is it?
Lani: Dr. Amanda Raynor.
Kristen: You've gotta be kidding me. The same doctor who delivered Rachel and
then helped switch her with Sarah's baby.
Lani: Yes. Yeah. We have the entire force out looking for her. But so far,
nothing. No luck.
Kristen: I still don't understand how I can help you.
Lani: Did she ever reach out to you after you got Rachel back?
Kristen: No. No. Why?
Lani: [Sighs] Nicole told us that when she found Raynor in New York, she talked
about how she felt guilty about her part in switching the babies.
Kristen: Little late for guilt now.
Lani: I agree. But I thought that maybe after it was over, that she--that Raynor
might have reached out to you?
Kristen: No. No, Lani, I am so, so sorry.
Lani: No, it's okay. I--I knew this was a long shot.
Kristen: Do you have any other leads that could help you find her?
Lani: One. Right now, our best hope is Xander.
Eli: Okay, so you're clear what you're gonna say if Dr. Raynor picks up.
Xander: I'm clear, but that's a big "if," mate. I mean, what are the odds she
even still has that phone?
Eli: Right now, it's our best chance at finding her.
Xander: All right, well... fingers crossed.
Eli: Put it on speaker. I want to record her, and I'll be quiet.
Xander: She's not gonna answer.
Lani: So Xander agreed to help us make contact with Raynor. He's our best hope,
like I said. Maybe even our only hope.
Kristen: God, I pray it works out for you. But I will never forgive him for what
he did to me and my daughter.
Lani: He's not my favorite person either. I know he is dangerous and selfish.
He'll do anything to get what he wants. I've arrested him more times than I can
Kristen: But he's all you've got.
Lani: And he's willing to help. Hey, Kristen. I would make a deal with the devil
to get my babies back.
Raynor: Xander, is that you?
Xander: Hello, Doctor. It took you so long to answer, I thought you weren't
gonna pick up.
Raynor: Well, I almost didn't, but I was afraid not to.
Xander: Ah. Perhaps because you remember what I'm capable of.
Raynor: Why are you calling me after all this time?
Xander: Oh, well, I thought we could have a wee chat about those babies you
Raynor: I don't know what you're talking about.
Xander: Let's not play games. A witness saw you at the park with Detective Eli
and Lani Grant's newborn twins. I know you're still there. And I'm not the only
one who knows what you did.
Raynor: They made a mistake. And why are you even talking to me about this? What
does it have to do with you?
Xander: Well, because of our past history, the cops think I have something to do
with this kidnapping. They hauled me down to the station, asked me all sorts of
Raynor: What did you say?
Xander: Well, I denied it, of course, because I had nothing to do with it. But
then, you already knew that, didn't you?
Raynor: So that's what this call is about? You want me to call the police and
tell them you're innocent?
Xander: No. I want to help you.
Chloe: I've invited Philip to stay here, whether you like it or not.
Brady: Do you know how easy it would be for me to just put an end to this whole
Chloe: Oh, yeah? What? What are you gonna do, call the mob?
Brady: No, Chloe, I'm gonna call Victor and let him know what's going on.
Chloe: No, you promised Philip that you would not tell Victor.
Brady: And Philip promised me that he would keep you out of this.
Chloe: Brady, you can't do this to him right now.
Brady: What about what he is doing to you? Don't you see--am I the only one
that's seeing clear here? How bad this arrangement is? Let me tell you
something. If ratting Philip out to his father is gonna keep you safe, Chloe,
that's what I'm gonna do.
Maggie: Are you saying that Xander deliberately made Philip a target of the mob?
Sarah: No, no, no, no. He's just trying to protect Titan, but now that Philip's
shell company is outed...
Maggie: Oh. And the mob, they can't get their money laundered. Oh, God. You
know, Sarah, these people kill.
Maggie: They kill for a lot less of a reason.
Sarah: Oh, I know, I know, and I feel responsible because I pretended to be
Philip's friend all while up digging up dirt, and now, if this leads to him
getting hurt or worse, I'm never gonna forgive myself.
Maggie: Okay, you know what? We gotta find him.
Maggie: And you don't know that anything has happened.
Sarah: Yeah, but I also don't know that nothing has happened, Mom! There could
be a hitman in Salem already, and Philip could be dead in a ditch somewhere, and
it's all my fault!
Maggie: Okay, okay. Stop, stop, stop.
Philip: As you can see, I'm very much alive. No thanks to you.
Doug: Honey, are you okay? Sit down.
Julie: I'm fine. I'm fine.
Doug: She look fine to you, Abe?
Abe: You know, you should sit down.
Julie: Oh, now you're ganging up on me.
Doug: That's what she does. She downplays.
Julie: I'm not downplaying anything. Now, stop fussing. Both of you, just stop
Doug: Hey, whoa, hey. Honey, honey. Your heart is racing.
Chloe: You can't go to Victor.
Brady: Philip, he's not giving me much of a choice here.
Chloe: You're making me sorry I ever asked you for help in the first place.
Brady: Why, because he's been doing such a great job on his own? Why are you so
willing to risk your life for him, anyway?
Chloe: Because! I care about him. We're friends.
Brady: You're just friends?
Chloe: Yes, we're just friends, and he desperately needs one right now. He's
going through a terrible time.
Brady: Yeah, which he brought on himself.
Chloe: Oh, come on, you heard what he said. Mimi took advantage of his weakness
Brady: You can't blame Mimi for any of this that's going on.
Chloe: Brady, you're an addict. You of all people should know what this is like.
Brady: Yes, Chloe. I know what it's like to be addicted. I also know what it's
like to have backslides, which I believe he's having right now. I also know that
that's the reason why you're being codependent right now.
Chloe: I am not! I am not enabling him! He's not even gambling anymore!
Brady: He is gambling! He's gambling with his life. He's gambling with yours as
well. There's only one thing to do when someone gets in that deep, Chloe, and
you gotta cut him off and let him hit rock bottom. That's it.
Sarah: Ah, I'm so relieved you're okay.
Philip: So sweet of you to be concerned. But as you can see, I'm still
breathing, despite you and your boyfriend's best efforts to get me killed.
Sarah: This isn't what we wanted to happen.
Philip: What did you want to happen? You pretended to be my pal so you could
hack into my computer.
Maggie: Now, wait a minute. Maybe you oughta take a step back, Philip. You were
the one laundering the mob's money through Titan.
Philip: Ah, by the way, Sarah, thanks for telling my stepmother. It's bad enough
you and your boyfriend serving me up to a bunch of murderers.
Sarah: Xander was just trying to protect the company and your family.
Philip: And now I can't go out in public.
Sarah: What do they want?
Philip: What do they want? They want me six feet under! Period!
Maggie: Well, I mean, there's gotta be a way to negotiate. I mean--you don't
have to do this alone.
Philip: If you're telling me I should talk to my father, the answer is no. And
you two can't tell him either.
Doug: I don't like the way your heart is pounding, sweetheart. I think we better
Julie: Don't you dare. You call the ambulance, I'll be even more upset.
Abe: All right, look. No ambulance, but I am gonna call the hospital, and I'm
gonna drive you there myself.
Julie: Oh, Abraham, no.
Abe: No, there's no debate. You are too important to us to take any chances.
Doug: Can't argue with the mayor.
Lani: I really wish I could stay longer.
Kristen: So do I. But I know you have to go. Hey, maybe there'll be some good
news waiting for you out there.
Lani: God, I hope so.
Kristen: Listen to me, I believe it. I believe it, and the next time that I see
you will be under much better circumstances.
Lani: From your lips.
Kristen: And speaking of God's ears, before you go, would you mind if we do
something that we haven't done in a while? Can we pray?
Lani: Yeah. I would love that.
Kristen: Dear Lord... thank you. Thank you for the blessing of Lani in my life.
You have brought us together under the strangest of circumstances, and she has
been by my side like no one else has. And she's been through more suffering than
she needs to for one lifetime, so... so please, please, please, I'm begging you,
please watch over her beautiful babies. Take really good care of them and keep
them safe. And bring them home safely to their mother and their father. Where
they belong. Amen.
Raynor: Why would you wanna help me?
Xander: Because I put you through hell.
Raynor: [Scoffs] Oh, yes, you did. But since when have you ever cared about
hurting other people?
Xander: I've changed. Or at least I'm trying to. For Sarah.
Raynor: Oh, so love made you a better man, huh?
Xander: That's right. She forgave me. She gave me a real life, and I-- I really
wish you could have that, Amanda. Being on the run is such a terrible burden.
Can make you desperate. Desperate enough to steal someone's babies.
Raynor: So, you expect me to believe that you're just gonna help me out of the
goodness of your heart?
Xander: No. I do have another motive.
Raynor: Here we go.
Xander: I hate Eli Grant's guts. And his wife's too.
Raynor: Why? What did they do to you?
Xander: What haven't they done to me? Constant harassment. Character
assassination. They tried to destroy my life, and now they're accusing me of
stealing their babies. To hell with both of them.
Raynor: So, you don't even want the babies brought back home?
Xander: Oh, I couldn't care less about that. But from the questions they're
asking me, I got the impression they're very close to finding you, Amanda. I
want to help you disappear again. You know I have the resources. I can make it
happen. I can help you, Amanda. All you have to do is tell me where you are.
[ Making popping noises ]
Xander: I know how you're feeling, Amanda. I've been there more times than I
care to remember, but you don't have to go through this alone. Just tell me
where you are. I'll come meet you.
Raynor: Why would I ever trust you?
Xander: Well, you don't have a lot of other options.
Raynor: Yeah, maybe not, but I'm still not telling you where I am.
Xander: Fair enough. I doubt I would either, if I were in your shoes. You don't
have to give me an address, but I can still help you slip out the country
Raynor: You'd really do that?
Xander: Yes. Just meet me tomorrow at Burnham Park. 3:30 P.M. That should give
me enough time to get you a new ID, some cash, and make all the arrangements. As
I said, Amanda, the police are close.
Raynor: You're asking me to trust you after everything that you've done.
Xander: You can roll the dice and see what happens. It's up to you. But the way
I see it, I'm your only hope.
Kristen: [Sighs] I will keep praying for you, my friend.
Lani: As I will for you. I know how hard it is for you to be here, away from
Brady and Rachel. But I have faith you'll come home to them soon.
Kristen: Thank you.
Lani: I love you.
Kristen: I love you. Oh... [Sighs] Okay.
[Somber piano music]
Chloe: If I cut Philip off, he could die.
Brady: And if you don't, so could you.
Chloe: I told you, I'll be fine.
Brady: But--mm. You--you know, sometimes, you are way too good, too caring,
Chloe. You have to be a little selfish right now because you have a kid, number
one. You're a mom. Think about him. Don't let Philip do this. He--this is not a
good situation. He could end up dragging you down, just like--
Chloe: Like what? Like how you did?
Brady: Yeah. Yeah. Exactly like I did. When my addiction blew up our lives
Chloe: So what, I should've just walked away?
Brady: As much as it would've hurt...probably. Yeah, you should've.
Chloe: Well, look, I appreciate your concern, but this is different, Brady.
Philip is not my husband. He's not even an active addict.
Brady: Who th-- are you sure about that?
Brady: Are you sure about that?
Chloe: Yes, I'm sure his life is not in danger because he's gambling; it's in
danger because the mob kills people who cross them.
Brady: Yeah, they do, Chloe. If the mob comes here--finds him here--you
understand they're not gonna hesitate to just kill you.
Chloe: [Sighs] We won't let that happen.
Brady: Chloe. Please, let me--let me--please. Let me find somewhere else for him
to hide that's safe. If he cares about you, if he loves as a friend like he
says, he'll be happy to leave.
Sarah: I don't want to make things worse for you, so if you don't want me to
tell Victor, I--I won't.
Philip: All right. How about you, Maggie?
Maggie: You know I don't love the idea of keeping a secret like this from your
father... but I will. For now.
Philip: Thank you.
Maggie: But I still think that you should tell him yourself. And the sooner, the
Philip: I can handle this on my own.
Sarah: Can you? I mean, you just said that your life is in danger. I mean, I
went to Rafe, and I asked him for protection.
Philip: You told Rafe?
Sarah: I--I didn't give him the details, I just--I said that you have gotten a
couple of threats.
Maggie: Well, what did he say?
Sarah: He said if Philip wants protection, then he has to request it himself.
Philip: I can't involve the cops.
Maggie: Are you sure that it's safe for you to be here? The Vitalis know that
you live here.
Philip: I'm not staying long. I just came by to get a few things, and then I'll
Sarah: Where will you go?
Philip: Mm... better that you don't know.
Philip: Once this is all sorted out, I'll tell my father everything. Hopefully,
I can move back home.
Maggie: I--I can't believe... that Philip has gotten himself into this mess.
Sarah: That's the hospital. Dr. Horton. Okay. Yeah, I will be right there.
Maggie: Is everything all right?
Sarah: Yeah, I have to go to the hospital. It's... it's Julie.
Sarah: You did the right thing, bringing her in.
Julie: But I am fine, right?
Sarah: Well, your heart rate was quite elevated when you came in, and I think
the beta blocker that I gave you should help with that, and your pacemaker is
operational, so I think that you should be feeling back to normal fairly soon.
Julie: Ah, so I can go home, right?
Sarah: No, we're gonna keep you for a little while longer for observation.
Julie: Of course, you are.
Doug: Julie, will you stop being argumentative and just let us take care of you?
Julie: Of course. No more complaints.
Sarah: Good. Because what's important right now is that you rest, and you avoid
Julie: Oh, yes, well. How can I avoid that when my great-grandbabies are
Sarah: [Sighs] I know that you are worried, Julie. We are all worried, but I do
think that we're gonna get good news soon.
Julie: Why do you think that?
Sarah: Well, Xander is with Eli, and they're trying to contact Dr. Raynor, and I
think if anyone can get her to talk, it's Xander.
Xander: Sorry I couldn't get Raynor to commit to the meet. I think I got through
to her, but I can't say for sure.
Eli: If you'd have pressured her any harder, she would've been out.
Xander: Yeah. I could feel her starting to panic.
Eli: You did the right thing. All right, I even think you got through to her and
made her believe your story. It's also a nice touch, you telling her that you
hated my guts.
Xander: Yeah, sorry about that, mate.
Eli: No need to apologize. You had to make her buy it.
Xander: We'll see. I'll let you know if I hear from her.
Eli: Uh, hey, Xander. Thank you.
Xander: Look, I remember what it felt like when I lost Mackenzie. I know it's
not the same thing, but you can thank me when you bring your children home.
Philip: Okay. We're good.
Brady: Are you sure no one saw you?
Philip: I was very careful.
Chloe: Did you run into anyone at home?
Philip: Sarah and Maggie were there. They promised they wouldn't say anything to
anyone. Not even my dad. They understood that I deserve a chance to find my way
out of this.
Brady: I'm sorry, what does-- what does that even mean? What are we
talking--listen. Listen, man, I agreed to help you for Chloe's sake, but if
you're not even gonna let me, you know, go to Victor so he can help us with the
Vitalis or help you find a safer place to hide out, man, I don't even-- [Phone
ringing] Excuse me. It's Statesville.
Brady: Hello? Yeah, I'll accept the call. Kristen?
Brady: Hey, is everything okay?
Kristen: It's fine, it's fine. Lani came to see me.
Brady: Oh, yeah, how's she doing?
Kristen: She's scared. And you know what, so am I. I really just needed to hear
your voice and Rachel's. Can you put her on?
Brady: I'm, uh--I'm actually not with Rachel right now.
Kristen: Uh--well, where is she?
Brady: She's at home. She's at home with the sitter.
Kristen: Then where are you?
Brady: I'm, um...
Kristen: Brady? Are you with Chloe?
