Provided By Suzanne

Kristen: You gave this to me the day our baby was born. I thought it would the happiest day of our lives, but it didn't turn out that way. We never had the chance to talk about it, brady--not once. Don't you think it's time we did? Please. Please look at me. Last mother's day... we lost our little girl. And you may hate me now, but can't we just talk about that day? Please?

Brady: Okay.

[Somber music]

Kristen: Oh, god. No, not again. Not--

Brady: The monitor said that was a big one, huh?

Kristen: They're all big ones! I can't take this anymore, brady! I wanna go home! I wanna go home!

Brady: When you feel one, just squeeze my hand as hard as you want--as hard as you want and breathe. Look at me. Breathe. Just breathe. Big one.

[Exhales] Feel good?

Kristen: It's not helping.

Brady: Come on, you're doing great--you're doing great. You're gonna get through this like a champ. Do you hear me?

Kristen: I don't know if i can do this, brady.

Brady: Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Hey...

Kristen: Oh, god.

Brady: Managed to, uh, break your water all over marlena's shoes.

Kristen: [Laughs]

Brady: All right?

Kristen: Yeah. That look on her face-- that makes this worth-- worth--oh, god, no. No, it doesn'T. No! Oh, god!

Brady: Breathe, kristen.

Kristen: Oh, god! Some--some doctor better get this freakin' baby out of me or I'm gonna kill somebody!

Brady: Okay, all right! All right.

Kristen: [Screams]

Brady: Easy--take it easy. Take it easy.

Kristen: [Groaning]

Haley: [Exclaims softly]

[Chuckles]

Jj: Hey, you.

Haley: I missed you.

Jj: Mm, missed you too.

Haley: Did you see your mom?

Jj: Yeah. I wished her a happy mother's day and told her she was the best mom in the world. I think she heard me.

Haley: Yeah. Holidays are the worst in a situation like yours.

Jj: That's why I'm glad to be starting my shift. Something else to think about. So, how was your first mother's day with melinda?

Haley: Well, honestly, i thought it was gonna be kind of weird. I mean, I couldn't find a card for her that said, "to the mother who I thought was my sister for 25 years." [Laughs]

Jj: Good one.

Haley: But, um, no, it was actually--it was actually pretty great. You know, we've gotten a lot closer, and today I... today I called her "mom" for the first time.

Jj: Wow.

Haley: It felt so right.

[Phone beeps]

Sonny: [Laughs]

[Hisses through teeth] Oh, yes. Brace yourself, mom. Our family is about to get bigger. Don't you forget to call sami, or you'll never hear the end of it.

Will: Oh, shoot, I did forget. Uh, I can't wait till I get home. It's past midnight her time. I'm a dead man.

Xander: Sarah? What's going on?

Sarah: Um, I just--I wanted to call and apologize for how i talked to you before, and I also wanted to tell you that I'm in labor.

Xander: Already?

Sarah: I know, I know.

Xander: Where are you?

Sarah: [Exhales sharply] We are--we are on, um, route seven, and we--we just passed exit five, so we're almost at the hospital. But, um... I would really, really like it if you would just come and you would be in the delivery room. That is, if you still want to.

Xander: Of course I want to be there!

Sarah: [Laughs] Okay, um--but you're gonna have to hurry.

[Groans]

Adrienne: Hey, out of my lane, moron!

[Car horn honks]

[Honking continues] Come on! Oh, my god!

Will: Oh, god!

[Tires squealing]

[Both scream]

Xander: Sarah? What happened?

[Phone line droning] Hello? Are you there? Sarah!

[Droning stops] Damn.

[Steam hissing]

[Tense music]

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the "days of our lives."

[Soft orchestration]

Kayla: Okay, your cervix is partially effaced and you are 5 centimeters dilated.

Kristen: What does that mean?

Kayla: It means that you are in active labor, but you still have some ways to go.

Kristen: Oh, god, these contractions are so strong!

Kayla: Well, at least they're still seven minutes apart, um, and according to your fetal monitor, the baby's heart rate is strong and steady through every contraction.

Brady: That's great. That's good.

Kayla: Yep.

Kristen: [Groaning] Where is my obstetrician?

Kayla: Dr. Raynor has another patient right now that he's getting ready to deliver.

Kristen: Oh, god, you've got to be kidding me!

Kayla: But that's okay, because you need to get to 10 centimeters dilated before you can deliver the baby, so she has enough time to get here. Why don't you just try to relax--

Kristen: Oh, god, that's easy for you to say. That's easy for you to say. Oh, god, these contractions are like getting--being hit by a car. Oh, god. Brady!

[Groaning, panting]

Will: [Breathing heavily] The hell did I just do? Oh, dear god, somebody's taillights.

Justin: That is such a great photo. Even if I'm not in it.

Sonny: Well, next time, we'll take a photo with the four of us: You and mom, me and will. Or the five us of, because ari needs to be in the picture.

Justin: Yes, definitely.

Sonny: You know, I--I'm feeling a little more sentimental than usual, and I'm guessing it's because it's mother's day, but I just feel so lucky to have you and mom as parents. You're both just so great, and I--I'm being real. And, you know, when I was younger, I think I just kind of took that for granted. I just didn't understand, but now that I've met people who weren't as lucky, it just makes me have that much more appreciation, and I just don't know if I say that often enough.

Justin: Yes, you say it often enough, for which I feel very lucky. I mean, not many parents have children who express their appreciation, which is just one of the reasons why you make it so easy to be a great parent.

Sonny: Well, that's nice of you to say, but we both know that hasn't always been the case. You know, I--I've been difficult at times...

Justin: [Chuckles]

Sonny: But you and mom have just always been so loving. You've always been so kind. You've always been understanding. Seriously, there are so many kids that are terrified to come out to their parents--and for good reason... but with me... I didn't have to be afraid because I knew that you and mom would love me no matter what... and that you wouldn't respect me any less. You made me feel so safe, and I didn't, for a second, ever think that you would be disappointed or that you would worry about me.

Justin: Why would we worry about you? You are a wonderful person, sonny. So we just felt confident that you would find love... and have a family if you wanted one--which you obviously did and do--with another wonderful person. And honestly, your mother and i couldn't be more proud of you-- or of will. And you two are also just great parents, and your devotion to each other--it's inspiring. I mean it.

Sonny: Well, thank you. I love you, dad.

Justin: I love you too.

[Grunts] And thanks again for making mother's day so special for your mother, and you and will gave her just the perfect gift.

Sonny: Yeah, she really seemed to like it--and she really liked the spa day.

Justin: Yeah, it's not often that she will allow herself to be pampered.

Sonny: I know, I'm really happy we talked her out of going to work today.

Justin: Yeah, me too. By the way, her car's not in the driveway. Do you know where she is?

Will: There's been an accident on route seven between exits five and six. Uh, they're not getting out of the other car, so p-please send an ambulance.

[Gasps] Oh, my god. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, uh, please, god. Please be okay, adrienne. Uh, adrienne? Adrienne, please, god. Adrienne.

Adrienne: [Gasps]

Will: Hey, hey.

Adrienne: Will.

Will: Hey, adrienne, what-- what happened?

Adrienne: Some--someone swerved into our lane and ran us off the road.

Will: Uh--

Adrienne: Oh, my god. Oh, my god, sarah. Honey, she's in labor. You gotta help her. I'm okay, I'm okay. Just help sarah. Help sarah. Sarah. Sarah?

Jj: You know, my dad couldn't stop talking about you, how great you've been. Said you came in this morning and brushed my mom's hair and put that pretty nightgown on her.

Haley: Well, it's--it's definitely a privilege to do whatever I can for jennifer. Yeah, I'll never forget what she did for me and how hard she fought for me when I--when I was gonna get deported.

Jj: Yeah, she was great.

Haley: And it's that fighting spirit of your mom's that will bring her out of that coma. It is--and she won't give up until she sees your dad and you and abigail.

Jj: You know, you don't just take care of my mom. Keep us going too.

Haley: I just--I can't believe the difference in your family now that your dad has his memory back. You guys, you all make me feel part of it.

Jj: Well, you--you are part of it. You know that, right? Which reminds me, uh... there's a question I've been wanting to ask you.

Haley: Okay.

[Phone rings]

[Phone beeps] Deveraux. I got it. Tell me partner I'll meet him at the garage.

Haley: Accident?

Jj: Out on route seven. We'll talk later.

[Door opens]

[Door slams]

Xander: Sarah!

[Grunts] Sarah? Maggie, are you all right? Talk to me.

Maggie: [Groaning] Xander... what... what are you...?

Xander: I'm looking for sarah. Maggie, where the hell is sarah?

Kristen: [Groans] Where's dr. Raynor? Oh, god, why is that other woman taking so long to have her stupid baby?

Brady: Kristen--

Kayla: No, kristen, we have another ob on call. She's very good--the best.

Kristen: Well, she better be.

Kayla: Well, she's gonna have a busy night, because adrienne just called, and she's bringing sarah in. She's in labor too.

Brady: Wow. Looks like you weren't the only one with the great idea to have a baby on mother's day.

Kristen: [Panting]

Brady: Breathe.

Will: I--so I called an ambulance. Um, so it's on its way for--for both of you.

Adrienne: It's okay. Her pulse is strong. It's good, it's good.

Will: Good. Come here. Come here, come here, come here. Adrienne, I'm sorry. I wish I could do more for you.

Adrienne: No, no, honey. You gave me a beautiful mother's day and your hankie. Sarah, can you hear me?

Will: Help's on the way--

Adrienne: We're gonna be okay.

Will: Yeah.

Adrienne: Come on. Come on, sarah. Hold on, babe.

Xander: Maggie! Maggie! Why the hell did you get so drunk? You were supposed to be taking sarah to the hospital to have the baby! Now where is she? Where is sarah? Where is she?

Maggie: Sarah?

Xander: Your daughter! Where is she?

Maggie: Oh. I couldn't leave.

[Groaning] Adrienne. Adrienne took her.

Xander: She wasn't in this car? Maggie, are you saying she wasn't--my god. Okay, come on. Let's get you out of here. Come on.

Justin: Your mother was so relaxed after her spa treatment, she probably just went straight to bed.

Sonny: Yeah, but that doesn't explain where her car is.

Justin: Maybe henderson had someone just pull it into the garage.

Sonny: Probably. He's done that for me many times.

Justin: Hey, if you're not busy, you wanna catch the end of the cubs game?

Sonny: Yeah, yeah. Let's do it. I'm just waiting on will to get home.

Justin: Oh, that was so good of him to cover for your mother at "the spectator."

Sonny: Yeah, he loves mom. He would do anything for her.

Justin: Yeah, she feels the same way about him.

Sonny: Which is another thing I'm extremely grateful for: That my husband actually loves his in-laws.

Justin: I think that is rare.

Sonny: Yeah, I've heard some stories. So I don't doubt it.

Justin: So will is still there at the newspaper?

Sonny: No, he texted me. He's on his way, uh--which he actually should be here by now. Wonder what's keeping him?

Will: You bled through the handkerchief. You're--you're definitely gonna need some stitches.

Adrienne: No, honey, no. Please, I don't want you to get my blood on your hands.

Will: Adrienne, it's too late for that, okay? How are you feeling? How's your head?

Adrienne: It hurts.

Will: Pain anywhere else?

Adrienne: [Stammers] Oh, honey.

Will: Hey, hey, sarah. The ambulance is on its way. You were out for a little while, but you're gonna be fine.

Sarah: [Groans]

Adrienne: Oh, is it the baby?

Sarah: No, my labor stopped. Maybe it was just the false contractions after all, but the seatbelt is jammed and it's pinning me to the seat. It's putting too much pressure

Will: Hey, hey, I'm gonna help you--I'm gonna help you.

Adrienne: Me too.

Will: No, no, adrienne! You stay there!

Adrienne: I'm good! I'm good, I'm good!

[Grunts] Oh, I feel funny.

[Body thuds]

Will: Adrienne? Adrienne! Adrienne? Adrienne, come on. Come on, come on.

Kristen: [Groaning] Oh, god.

Haley: There you go. How's that? Are you--you more comfortable?

Kristen: Yeah, I'm better. Thank you.

Haley: Kayla thought that you might be having back labor, and, uh, laying on your back for so long causes a lot of compression in the--the major blood vessels. But better circulation is good for the baby too. It's more blood to get into the umbilical cord.

Brady: See? I'm glad she's on duty. She's a very good nurse, kristen.

Kristen: She's not a nurse. She's an angel.

[Panting, groaning]

Haley: All right, let's get this pillow between your legs. It'll help you a lot.

[Monitor beeping]

Kristen: Oh...

Brady: I missed a call from maggie. I should call her. Let her know that she has another great-grandchild coming. Huh?

[Phone beeps]

[Phone line trills]

[Phone rings]

[Phone beeps]

Victor: The hell you want? I'm on my way to bed.

Xander: Listen to me: Maggie's been in an accident.

Victor: Why didn't you tell me?

Xander: I talked to her. She seems fine, but she's had a skin full. She's passed out drunk.

Victor: You sure she's gonna be all right?

Xander: I'm pretty sure, but the thing is, her car is stuck in a ditch.

Victor: Why'd she get so drunk?

Xander: She's in no shape to tell me. Listen, I'm calling because you need to send someone to come and get her. If the police know it's her car, they're gonna investigate and arrest her for sure.

Victor: Just put her in your car and get her the hell out of there.

Xander: I can't do that.

Victor: What do you mean, "you can't"?

Xander: I have to get to the hospital. Sarah's in labor and she wants me with her.

[Sirens wailing]

Jj: Oh, my god. Adrienne? Check the other passenger.

Will: Uh, her name is sarah horton. She was unconscious for a while. She's pregnant, and the seatbelt is wrapping her, and she thinks it's hurting the baby. So...

Jj: Will, what happened?

Will: I--she was conscious. Um, you know, she was making sense, and then she got out of the car and--I don't know, she just collapsed.

[Radio chatter]

Jj: Come on, adrienne. It's jj. Can you hear me? Can you talk to me? Can you squeeze my hand? She's almost completely unresponsive. Her abdomen is rigid. Her chest sounds are okay, but her pulse is thready. We have to transport her now!

Justin: Another great comeback victory for our cubbies.

Sonny: That was a good game. You know, ari's actually becoming a cubs fan.

Justin: Oh, sonny, I am so happy with you and will.

Sonny: Well, I mean, it hasn't happened yet--

Justin: It's gonna happen, and I think it's a terrific idea. Now little ari's gonna have a brother or a sister.

Sonny: Yeah, she's gonna love it. I mean, she's actually jealous of her friends who have siblings. She's always like, "daddy sonny, my friend morgan has two sisters and one brother, and all I have is my flora plush doll."

Justin: Oh, yeah, she's complained to your mother and me about that too.

Sonny: But, of course, her flora plush doll is--is not all she has. I mean, she has like 100 dolls and like 200 stuffed animals.

Justin: Well, let's hope that she shares some of those stuffed animals with whomever comes along, and she won't be jealous of morgan anymore.

Sonny: Yeah, let's hope so.

[Sighs]

Justin: So is will really excited about this too? Having another child.

Sonny: Yeah, that's what he said in his text, so--

Justin: That's great. Just great, you know?

Sonny: I can't wait to tell mom. You know, she's been kind of dropping hints lately in a very subtle way.

Justin: Really?

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Justin: I didn't know your mother was capable of being subtle.

Sonny: Well, subtle in her way. In other words, she didn't say, "oh, you and will need to grow the family because I'm miserable." She was more like, "um, you know how much I love ari, but she's growing up so fast. I really miss taking care of a little tiny baby.

Justin: That is pretty subtle. Anyway, wait till she hears this. She is gonna be over the moon.

[Radio chatter]

Sarah: Will?

[Sniffs] Are you all right?

Will: "Am I okay"? Don't worry about me. How--how are you doing?

Sarah: I feel a lot better now that jj's partner cut the seatbelt off of me, but what were you doing here? Did you see the accident happen?

Xander: Sarah! Oh, are you all right?

Sarah: Yeah. I was--I was knocked out for a little bit, but I think I'm okay now.

Xander: Thank god. What happened?

Sarah: When I was on the phone with you, we saw this black car go across the lines and just come straight at us.

Xander: Sarah! Sarah? Maggie. Maggie, are you all right? Talk to me.

Maggie: [Groaning] Xander... what... what are you doing...?

Xander: I'm looking for sarah. Maggie, where the hell is sarah? Oh, my god.

Sarah: [Groaning]

Xander: What do I do?

Sarah: Okay, you need to go see if adrienne has a first aid kit and a blanket in the back.

Xander: On it.

Sarah: [Groaning, panting] I mean, I know they didn't cover this in our--in our birthing class, but you are gonna have to deliver this baby.

[Groaning]

Sonny: Some jackass just swerved in her lane?

Justin: That's what jj said.

Sonny: I'm gonna find the driver and I'm gonna kill him.

Jj: She's minimally responsive on the glasgow. Abdomen's rigid. Bp's fallen to 60 over 40.

Justin: Adrienne!

Kayla: Trauma room.

Justin: Adrienne!

Kayla: Justin, justin. We are gonna do everything we can, all right?

Justin: Oh, my god.

Kristen: [Whimpering]

Brady: Kristen, kristen, kristen. I know I've said this a thousand times--you gotta breathe. Sweetheart, you gotta breathe.

Kristen: Oh, god, they don't stop! They don't stop! It's just one right after the other! Brady--

Brady: You think it's coming? Is it coming? Is the baby coming?

Kristen: [Yelps]

Brady: What is it?

Kristen: Brady?

Brady: Kristen, what is it?

Kristen: Something's wrong. It's a different kind of-- oh, god.

Brady: Okay, hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on.

Kristen: Call the doctor, please! Oh!

[Groans]

Brady: Kristen?

Kristen: [Groaning]

[Monitor beeping rapidly]

Brady: Kristen? Kristen? Something's wrong with her! Kristen? Kristen!

[Beeping continues]

Sarah: [Groaning]

Xander: I'm right here.

[Groaning, panting] You have to help me, okay? Please. You can't lose this baby.

Xander: That is not going to happen.

Sarah: [Whimpering]

Sarah: [Groaning, panting]

Xander: You just need to talk me through this, okay?

Sarah: Okay... on the next contraction, I'm gonna start pushing, and hopefully, if all goes well, all you have to do is catch the baby.

Xander: On it.

Sarah: Okay. Xander, I'm so sorry for what i said to you, because if I had to pick anyone to be here, it wouldn't be eric. It would be you.

Xander: I was gonna be here whether you liked it or not. Just didn't expect it to be by the side of a road.

Sarah: [Groaning] Okay. Oh, the contraction is starting! Okay, I'm gonna start pushing.

[Straining, whimpering]

[Indistinct chatter]

Sonny: You know, I--I keep thinking about that time before our wedding--will's and my wedding. She was helping me with the tie.

Justin: Even though you didn't need any help?

Sonny: Well, I mean, I was actually pretty nervous that day. My hands were shaking. So I probably did need help, and she was just, like, so excited to have something to help me with. 'Cause as usual, she... didn't feel like she was doing enough.

Adrienne: What? What'd you lose? My cuff links.

Adrienne: Oh, that's okay. I can go get 'em.

Sonny: No, no, you know what? I'll text gabi. I'll just tell her to bring them.

Adrienne: Okay. Oh, you know what? I just--

Sonny: Ma--mom, mom. I got--I got it.

Adrienne: Let me do something, will you?

Sonny: You helped with this entire wedding.

Adrienne: Honey, I want to help you. I'm so proud of you. I know I had my reservations about this wedding at first, but it's not because I don't love you or will. Fact is...

[Sighs] I really do love you two together. Honey, you deserve this day.

Sonny: Thank you.

Adrienne: [Sighs]

Sonny: She had a hard time accepting will. She--she didn't think he was right for me, which you well know. But as soon as she came around, I mean, no one was more supportive of him and me together. No one was more loving and sweet.

[Sighs] Even though her theme continues.

Justin: What theme?

Sonny: Just that she always feels like she's not doing enough when, actually, like, she's doing more than enough.

Justin: Nothing's more important than her boys.

Sonny: And her husband.

Justin: [Laughs] Yeah, when she's not busy thinking about you guys. Talking about you. Busting with pride about you. Fretting about you. Then, occasionally, she turns her attention to me for a minute or two.

Sonny: Are you kidding me? She is crazy in love with you and you know it.

Justin: Actually, I do... and me with her.

[Marina v's "every breath"]

Singer: It seems I've

dreamed enough

all the stories have been

put to bed

in this fairytale

of love

you're real

and I'm just in my head

it's true

every breath I take

is yours

oh, wait, I've lost you

out the door

find me

[All vocalizing]

[No audible dialogue]

Singer: It seems I've

cried enough

every tear has not been

dropped in vain

I can always feel

your love

you erased my fears

of yesterday

it's true

[No audible dialogue]

Every breath I take

is yours

oh, wait, I've lost you

out the door

find me

[All vocalizing]

Justin: I can't stand around here any longer. I gotta find out what's going on.

[Elevator dings]

Sonny: Oh, thank god you're here.

Brady: [Sighs]

[Sighs]

Sarah: [Panting]

[Laughs, stammers] We did it. Xander... xander, why isn't--why isn't the baby crying?

Victor: What were you doing drinking and driving? You're lucky you didn't kill someone.

Sonny: She's going to pull through. She has to pull through. She always does.

Will: Sonny.

Sonny: Hey, how-- how did you know to come? That I needed you? Did--did jj call you too? Um, no. Um, when--when your mom had her accident, um... I--I was there.

Justin: Kayla, how is she? Tell me she's gonna be okay.

Kayla: Justin, I--

Justin: No, no.

Kayla: I--I'm--

Justin: Tell me she's gonna be okay! No, no, she--she beat cancer! She can sure as hell survive what happened today!

Kayla: I--I'm sorry.

Justin: No, no!

Kayla: Her injuries were so severe that I--

Justin: No, no, no, no, no!

Kayla: I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. I'm really, really so sorry. I'm really...

[Sobbing] I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I am so sorry. I'm sorry.

Justin: Oh, my god...

Sarah: Xander, is the baby...

Xander: She is fine. And very pretty--just like her mum.

Sarah: [Laughs]

Xander: Hey, little girl.

Sarah: [Exclaims]

Xander: Say hello to your mum.

[Baby crying]

[Sniffs]

Sarah: [Laughs]

[Sighs]

Kristen: [Groans]

[Monitor beeping]

[Sighs]

[Groaning]

Brady: Hi.

Kristen: Oh. Oh, what happened?

Brady: You passed out... but, uh, you--you're gonna be okay.

Kristen: Oh. We don't feel any pain. Did we have our baby?

Brady: Kris--yeah. Look at me. Hey, they gave you something for the pain, okay? The--the doctors are gonna be in. There was, uh--

[Stammering] There was, uh, something--

Kristen: I... what is it, brady? Tell me, please.

Brady: The umbilical cord... there was--it was wrapped around the neck. It's gonna--it's gonna...

Kristen: No. No. I... oh, god, they can't let my baby die!

[Gasps] No! No, no, god! My baby. I don't want my baby to die! I don't want my baby to die!
