Chad: Hey, Gabi, just, uh...wanted to call and say goodnight. Make sure you're okay. Yeah, no, no, no, it's hard to believe that, uh-- that he's really gone. Well, on the plus side, he's not gonna be able to hurt anybody else. No, no, m worried about JJ, too. But the cops are just questioning him, so it's-- honestly, anybody could've killed Deimos. All right, yeah, no, you, too. Give Ari a hug for me. Okay, bye.
Steve: Ooh, right?
Joey: There you go.
Steve: Joe, what you doing, man? Take a load off. Pub's almost closed.
Joey: Wait, is he actually suggesting I ditch work early?
Tripp: Kinda sounds like it.
Steve: Hey, your uncle roman won't mind. I'll write you a hall pass. Come on. Sit down.
Joey: Yeah, on the real, I gotta close out these customers and take some kegs up from the basement.
Tripp: Yeah, I can help you with those kegs.
Tripp: Mm-hmm. As long as I don't hurt my thumbs, you know? "Assassin's creed" rematch tonight?
Joey: Ohh, you're on, bro.
Tripp: You wanna join us?
Steve: Who me?
Steve: Video game, right?
Steve: Well, nah, I think I'll pass. If it doesn't involve inky, blinky, pinky, or Clyde I'm not interested.
Steve: Dudes, come on. "Pac-man"? Really? [Laughs]
[Cell phone chirps]
Steve: I thought these retro games were making a comeback. Ooh.
Joey: Dad, what's wrong?
Steve: It's your aunt hope. They rushed her to the hospital.
Kayla: Rafe, it's a good thing you got hope here as quickly as you did. What happened? What happened? Why is there halo in her system?
Rafe: We were at that party at the martin house and, uh, we did a toast. Evidently Deimos put some in everyone's drink. We all started tripping out. And, uh-- oh, my god, she's gonna be okay, right? Kayla? She just had a bad reaction--
Kayla: I can see that.
Rafe: She's gonna be okay? Oh, my god.
Eli: How you holding up?
Lani: Not great.
Eli: You still feeling the side effects from the halo?
Lani: No. It's just...
Eli: Oh, yeah, JJ.
Lani: I basically implicated him in a murder, Eli.
Eli: Honey, look, you did what you had to do.
Abigail: Hey, uh, what's go-- where--where's my brother?
Eli: He's still in there with Raines.
Raines: Yeah, okay. Okay, so the lab's running tests on the blood on your shirt to see if it matches Deimos' DNA. Sure you don't want an attorney present?
JJ: Nope, I don't. If I killed Deimos, I won't hide the truth. Just the thing is... it's this damn drug. I just--I remember anything!
Raines: So you're saying you could've killed Deimos Kiriakis?
JJ: I'm saying I don't remember!
Kayla: Fortunately, we have learned a lot about the effects of this halo drug. We just have to be patient and let her system work its way out. Come on. Come on, baby.
Rafe: Oh, my god.
Kayla: There you go. Why would Deimos do this?
Rafe: Uh, evidently Sonny had some sort of, um, artifact that he wanted?
Kayla: So what did he do? Drug everyone at the party so he could slip in and get it?
Rafe: Yeah, evidently.
Kayla: Well, did you catch him?
Rafe: No, we didn't need to. He's-- he was murdered.
Kayla: What? At the party?
Kayla: Well, who did it?
Rafe: I don't--I don't-- I mean--
Rafe: What? Listen--
Kayla: Who did it?
Rafe: The investigation, we're early in it, okay? I don't-- your nephew, JJ, they brought him down to the station for questioning.
Kayla: What? JJ?
Rafe: But Lani--okay, Lani she said she saw him he was arguing with Deimos, but we don't-- look, we were all just-- we were out of our minds, okay? So we don't even know if Lani's story stands up. It's just-- oh!
Kayla: Rafe, Rafe, just-- can you go out for a little bit? Okay? Let me handle this. It's okay, honey. Hope? Hope, hope... take it easy, baby. Take it easy. Take it easy. It's okay, it's all right. Take it easy.
Rafe: Oh, my god.
Steve: Rafe, what's going on with hope?
Rafe: Hope's had a bad reaction to--to halo. She's in there with Kayla right now.
Steve: Halo? Hope?
Rafe: I need to get some air.
Steve: What the hell, man?
Rafe: If you wanna come with me I'll fill you in.
Tripp: I'll just wait here.
Tripp: This couldn't be more perfect.
Steve: Baby, how she doing?
Kayla: Well, we have got her stabilized. The iv drip is flushing out her system. She's been still having intermittent convulsions, so we have sedated her.
Tripp: With what? If you don't mind me asking.
Kayla: Vicatril, 2.5 milligrams.
Rafe: Hold on, when Lani was going through this, I thought that-- that she couldn't have sedatives.
Kayla: Well, I have hope on a very low dosage and, like I said, we have learned a lot recently about the various types of halo drugs. And while Lani's situation was similar to hope, the effects of the drug were very different. And this new version of halo drug is very different. The chemical components are different, so hope is not having as an intense reaction to the drug.
Steve: Okay. Well, that's good news.
Kayla: Yeah, it's very good. She's going to be fine.
Rafe: Thank you.
Kayla: Yeah. Well, I have a patient to see, so...see you later.
Steve: Hey, hope's in good hands.
Tripp: Yeah, she's very lucky to have Kayla as her doctor.
Abigail: But, I mean, how-- how could you do this to JJ of all people?
Eli: It's not Lani's fault, Abigail.
Abigail: She did not help!
Lani: You're right, but it wasn't intentional. Abigail, you have to know that this was the last thing that I ever wanted to do.
Abigail: So why did you not wait until we had all the information because you know what, it's been a pretty confusing night for everybody.
Lani: I am a police officer and I have the obligation to tell the truth.
Abigail: I'm sorry.
Lani: I understand.
Abigail: I just don't know when this night is gonna be over.
Raines: Okay, JJ, start from the beginning.
JJ: I'd like to. I don't even know where that is. I don't even remember seeing Deimos tonight.
Raines: Yeah, but Lani was clear she witnessed you two in an altercation.
JJ: Yup, that's what she said. Doesn't mean I remember it, though.
Raines: You'd be wise and lose that attitude and start to cooperate.
JJ: I am. I want to cooperate, but if I can't remember any of this, how am I supposed to answer your questions?
Raines: All right, all right. I think I may know of a way to jog your memory. Stay here.
[Cell phone ringing]
Abigail: Chad, hey, um... is everything okay?
Chad: Yeah, just, um... calling to check on JJ. Any news?
Abigail: No. No, there's nothing yet. He's still in the interrogation room, but Raines just walked out so I'm hoping that they're almost finished.
Chad: All right, well, I don't wanna keep you then.
Abigail: Oh, um... yeah, okay, I'll see you later.
Chad: Do you, um... when you're done do you think that maybe we could meet?
Abigail: Tonight? Um... I--it's kinda late.
Chad: Yeah, I know, but I'm not--I'm not really gonna be able to sleep anyway and, uh... I'd really like to be able to talk about what happened between us.
Abigail: Yeah, okay. Um... I'll text you when I leave. Bye.
Rafe: Kayla, hey. Hi.
Kayla: Yeah? Uh-huh? Yes?
Rafe: Can I just go back in there for a little while?
Kayla: Of course.
Steve: It's been a long day, huh, baby?
Kayla: Yeah. I think I'm gonna have to stick around for a few more hours. Make sure that hope's stabilized alright.
Steve: Do you have to be in the room with her right now?
Kayla: No. I think we just give Rafe a little time with her.
Steve: Okay, how about we take and get some coffee?
Kayla: Yeah, I'd like that. Could use a break. Uh, Shelly, will you file this for me? I'll be back in a few minutes.
Steve: Hey, you don't have to hang around, Tripp, I'm gonna get a ride with Kayla.
Tripp: Cool. Yeah. I'll head back to the pub and help Joey with those kegs.
Kayla: That's sweet of you.
Tripp: Happy to do it.
Steve: Well, drive safely. Don't hurt those thumbs.
Tripp: I'll try not to.
Tripp: So, Hope's on 2.5 milligrams of vicatril. Um...hate to think what would happen if dr. Johnson accidently put in 25 instead. Just move that decimal point one place over and... don't worry, Hope, I'll be back to point out your doctor's mistake before she administers the drug.
Rafe: Hey... hey, kid, we, uh... we got a lot to look forward to, you know? We've got that whole bucket list of things, remember? That-- you wanted to go to Napa, and, um... there were so many things on-- hey, can you--did you-- you know, it's almost 4th of July, isn't it? Right? Fireworks and... Horton family picnic.
Listen, I just, uh... I wanted to say that... obviously I was really out of it tonight, you know? Understatement, but, um... I do remember asking you to marry me. I swear that wasn't the drugs talking. Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you.
Abigail: Is there anything we can do?
JJ: Actually, um... yeah. I need you think really hard okay, Lani? Now, are you positive you don't remember anything else? What I said? What Deimos said? Anything. No matter how insignificant it seems.
Lani: All I saw was the fight. I definitely did not see you murder Deimos.
Abigail: [Groans] How long can they drag this whole night out?
Lani: Where did Raines go?
JJ: I don't know. He said he may have a way to jog my memory and he left.
Abigail: Well, how's he gonna do that?
Raines: See for yourself.
She treats her staff and her patients. Always going the extra mile. It's inspiring.
Joey: That's cool, man. I'm really glad you're getting a lot out of this mentor thing.
Tripp: Yeah, I am. She's a great role model.
Joey: Yeah, she really is. This might sound biased or whatever, but... my mom did it all. I mean, she was saving lives all day and helping coach little league after work.
Tripp: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, you say "little league"? Like she knows baseball, too+?
Joey: No, I wouldn't say that. See I was huge into baseball when I was little. Like you should've seen my room, I'm talking floor to ceiling posters. It was a little extreme, I'll admit. Anyway, the first year she signed me up, they were like kinda desperate for coaches.
Tripp: Ah, so she volunteered.
Joey: Yeah, she did. Even though she didn't know a thing about baseball.
Tripp: So... how could she coach?
Joey: She went to the library checked out everything from "baseball for dummies" to "shoeless Joe." Watched every game she could on TV.
Tripp: Did it work?
Joey: Well, we only won one game that season.
But, uh... that didn't matter. We had a team. That never would've happened if my mom hadn't stepped up. But that's just who she is. You know, she always putting other people first. She really is an amazing person.
Lani: That deal with Abigail? She's right. I didn't do JJ any favors tonight.
Eli: Lani, come on. We talked about--
Lani: No. I'm not just talking about the Deimos thing. I'm talking about what we did. That kiss... it shouldn't have happened.
Eli: We had no idea what we were doing. It was the drugs. You didn't have any control over it.
Lani: I'm gonna grab a water.
Marlena: I'm gonna count backwards from five. With every number I want you to double your relaxation. Be aware of your breathing. Five... four... go ahead and close your eyes. That's good. Three... two... one. You can hear my voice?
Marlena: I want you to think back to the last time you were at the martin house. In the living room. Are you there?
Marlena: Good. Tell me what you see.
JJ: Gabi. I'm dancing with Gabi.
Marlena: Good. Do you remember anything about Deimos Kiriakis?
JJ: I swear to you, if we find Deimos, I'm going to kill him. Yes. I got upset. I went to find him.
Marlena: Did you find him?
Marlena: And do you remember attacking Deimos?
JJ: I do. I remember attacking Deimos.
Marlena: Tell me what happened next.
She's nationally recognized
Steve: There you go.
Kayla: As much as I'd like to stay here with you, I still have patients to see. I have to go.
Steve: No! You're not gonna leave before the foot massage, baby.
Steve: Come on, that's my specialty.
Kayla: Oh, I know it is. But I don't think Mrs. Liebowitz would like it that I chose my tired feet over her neck injury.
Steve: Aw, well, I think Mrs. Liebowitz needs to toughen up a little bit.
Kayla: Oh, well, I'll make sure I'll tell her that you said that.
Steve: Come here.
Kayla: Thank you.
Steve: So I'll tell you what.
Steve: You go do your thing, and then we'll go home... and we'll do our thing.
Kayla: I like that. Good idea.
Steve: Yeah. Look at this.
Kayla: [Laughs] Yeah, that was taken the other day when he was doing rounds with me.
Steve: It's a good picture.
Kayla: Yeah. My favorite Peds patient took it. Not bad for a six year old, is it?
Steve: Not bad at all. My boy looks like a natural, huh?
Kayla: He is a natural. You know, he's curious, he's smart, he's caring with the patients. You know, I really think he could have a career in medicine.
Steve: Well, with a mentor like you... you're his inspiration, you know?
Steve: I think he could, too.
Joey: Sorry, man, I-- I don't mean to go on about my mom like that.
Tripp: No, it's--it's cool. You guys have a great relationship, you know? You're lucky.
Joey: Yeah, it's weird as I get older I realize that more. But, I'm-- look, I'm sorry, man.
Joey: Well, because here I am making a big deal about my mom and how she cares about me--
Tripp: Hey, just because my mom is dead doesn't mean that no one can ever mention theirs to me, you know? Or go on about how much their mom means to them. Or anything, it's-- it's life, you know?
Joey: Yeah, yeah, I guess. It's just I still think I should've laid off the subject.
Tripp: It's cool. Really. Yeah, I admit I'm envious, but, you know, I bet a lot of people are. Honestly, I can't even imagine what it's like to have what you have. I mean, my adopted mom, veronica, like--like I told you, she died when I was little. Then Ava. Obviously I will never be able to see what kind of mom she could've become.
[Cell phone chimes]
Tripp: Uh, I gotta dip out, man.
Joey: Hey, if wanna wait a sec I'll head to the loft--
Tripp: No, I got to take care of something first.
Joey: All right.
Rafe: Hey. You okay? It's okay. I'm gonna go get Kayla, okay? And I'm gonna... I'm just gonna let Shawn and Ciara know what-- what's happened, okay? I'll be right back.
Hi, hi. Do you know is anyone gonna be hope Brady a sedative anytime soon 'cause she-- she seems like she could use it.
I'm headed in there now.
Rafe: Thank you. Great.
Abigail: Um, I don't really have a lot of time I just need to get back to JJ.
Chad: How's he doing?
Abigail: Marlena's putting him under hypnosis to see if she can help him remember.
Abigail: I just keep replaying things in my head, trying to see if I can remember something myself, but I just remember holding some--some flowers.
Chad: Yeah, it was like... renewing our vows.
Chad: Which is why I wanted to talk to you.
Abigail: I really thought that I was doing what was best for you at the time because I want you to be happy because you deserve it.
Chad: I'm happy.
Chad: You wanna be my wife?
Chad: Okay. We kissed.
Abigail: I remember that.
Chad: Do you remember anything else?
[Elevator bell dings]
Tripp: Stop! I-I'm sorry, uh... Dr. Johnson just said that I could watch her inject the medication into the IV line.
You about gave me a heart attack.
Tripp: Yeah, I'm really sorry about that. I'm just, uh-- just trying to learn.
[Sighs] Fine. It's not that difficult. You just make sure that you have the right amount of medication--
Tripp: Wait, wait a second. I swear Dr. Johnson said that she couldn't have a high dosage of this Vicatril and this says 25.
That's a normal dosage.
Tripp: Yeah, but she has Halo in her system. So, I mean, won't that have a bad reaction to the vicatril?
Well, clearly this is what she wanted or else she wouldn't have marked it down.
Kayla: What's going on?
I was showing Tripp how to inject an IV, and he noticed that the amount of sedative was a bit high for this case.
Kayla: What? Let me see that. What? This is not what I prescribed.
That's the number in the system.
Kayla: No, anything higher than 2.5 milligrams mixed with halo could be lethal. I-- I don't understand this.
Thank god your step son noticed.
Kayla: Yes. Thank you, Tripp.
Chad: Yeah, I don't know what happened after the kiss, but... I don't think it went any further.
Abigail: No. Oh, no, gosh, we both woke up with our clothes on, so...
Chad: Nice to know.
Abigail: For JJ's sake.
Chad: Yeah, right. I know you're worried about him, but the cops are just questioning him and... anybody could've-- could've murdered Deimos.
Abigail: I should probably get back to the station.
Chad: I just wanted you to know that what happened tonight...
Abigail: Didn't... mean anything?
Abigail: It's okay. Hey, that's-- I know you're with Gabi.
Chad: And you're with Dario.
Abigail: Yeah. And I--I really-- I wish you guys the best.
Abigail: Thank you. I'm gonna go. You know what? Um... I'm always gonna care about you. This evening has... reminded us of that--for me. You're the father of my child, so...
Chad: Yeah. You have a good night. Okay.
Abigail: I'll talk to you later, okay?
Abigail: Good night.
Marlena: What else do you remember?
JJ: I remember attacking Deimos. And then there was a-- a struggle. And then...
Marlena: And then what?
JJ: I'm not sure.
Marlena: JJ, I need you to focus. Concentrate for me.
Marlena: Okay, it's all right. You're okay. You're okay.
[JJ breathing steadies out]
Marlena: Okay, we're gonna end this right now. I'm gonna count to three. When I do you'll be awake and alert. One, two, three. Open your eyes for me.
Raines: How did it go?
JJ: It's okay, dr. Evans, tell him whatever I said.
Marlena: JJ has no memory of killing Deimos. He does remember attacking him.
If there's anything at all you need from me, you just call me. Okay?
Raines: I'll walk you out, dr. Evans.
Lani: Hey. How'd it go?
JJ: You were right. I attacked Deimos. It's a pretty safe bet I'm the one who killed him. Needles.
Rafe: Hey, okay. I just got off the phone with Shawn and Ciara. They send their love. Hope!
Rafe: There she is.
Hope: Hey, handsome.
Rafe: Hey, beautiful. Hi.
Rafe: You gave us quite a scare, you know?
Hope: I gave myself a scare.
Hope: I don't know what happened. What happened?
Rafe: You don't-- [Laughs] It's okay, it's okay. You know what? Um... I'll fill you in later. I'm gonna go get Kayla. I'm gonna let her know you're awake, okay?
Hope: Wait. Wait. Deimos?
Rafe: Deimos. Deimos is gone. We--we don't have to worry about him anymore.
Hope: I-I-- I need to get to the station.
Rafe: No, no, no. No.
Rafe: Hey, you're not going anywhere right now. Hope, would you--no.
Rafe: You need to rest. No. No, I'm not gonna have it. Would you--relax, okay? Relax. I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me.
Hope: I have you to myself? Huh?
Rafe: All to yourself.
Hope: Come here. Come here.
Rafe: I'm here.
Hope: No, no, lay in bed with me. Come here.
Rafe: What? No, I can't do--
Hope: Get in bed with me.
Rafe: What are you doing? Stop. Wha-- really?
Hope: Really, get in bed.
Rafe: Oh, my god, crazy.
Hope: And weak.
Rafe: I-- hi. Oh, you okay?
Hope: I'm such a lucky woman.
Rafe: I'm the lucky one. Hi.
Kayla: I cannot believe that I wrote down the wrong dosage like that. I mean, I do not make mistakes like that.
Steve: Baby, you're running on about two hours sleep--
Kayla: No, it doesn't matter! There is no excuse for that. You cannot make mistakes like that in this job.
Steve: Nothing bad happened. That's what matters.
Kayla: Well, thanks to Tripp. Thank you. I am very grateful to you.
Tripp: I'm just glad I could help.
Steve: What are you doing back here, anyway? I thought you were gonna go help Joe.
Tripp: I did and then I-- I realized that I left my phone here so I came back. That's when I ran into the nurse. But anyway, um, I'm gonna get going. You guys have a good night, okay?
Kayla: Thank you, Tripp.
Tripp: Not a problem.
Kayla: This really scares me. I just don't do things like that. I don't make mistakes like that.
Steve: Like I said, it was exhaustion.
Kayla: No! There are no excuses! Don't you understand that? If I was so exhausted that I couldn't think straight, I should've got somebody else to work for me. I should've got a sub. Hope could've died!
Steve: She didn't.
Kayla: Well, thanks to Tripp. It just--it just isn't like me. I mean, how could I do something like that?
Abigail: Hey, how'd it go with dr. Evans?
Raines: You should call an attorney, JJ.
Raines: Got the results from the DNA test. The blood on the shirt, it's a match for Deimos.
