Episode #13114 ~ Nicole & Brady's family bliss with Holly is short-lived; Eric confides in Marlena about Jennifer & Nicole; Sonny makes a big—and unpopular—move at Titan; Deimos formulates a plan to get revenge.
Provided By Suzanne
Sonny: Looks like you were bounced from Titan just in time, Deimos.
Justin: At least he had it coming. Unlike those 50 Titan employees you just pink-slipped.
Sonny: I told you I was gonna get rid of everything and everyone connected to Deimos.
Justin: You kept your word... and made a big mistake.
Eric: I knew things wouldn't be easy. But Jennifer and I decided to put our friendship first.
Marlena: I'm sorry things didn't work out.
Eric: It's just, I'm not ready to jump into a relationship right now. I think my focus should be on my work at the center.
Marlena: I know how important that is to you. Something wrong, honey?
Eric: It's just that things... at work are gonna get somewhat complicated.
Marlena: How so?
Eric: Nicole walker. She's starting her community service at the Horton center-- reporting to me.
Brady: She is too beautiful.
Brady: Reminds me a lot of her mom.
Nicole: Well, not like her mom in temperament, that's for sure.
Brady: What are you talking about?
Nicole: Oh, from what my mom said, I was colicky, cranky, never slept for more than two hours at a stretch, and I cried most of the time when I was awake.
Brady: I'm so surprised. You were a difficult baby, Nic. I can't believe that.
Nicole: Aw! Yeah, it's hard to imagine, huh? Well, my point is, how lucky are we that holly is so sweet and easygoing... perfect?
Brady: Did you hear that? I think your mom's kind of crazy about you.
Brady: Just a little bit.
Nicole: [Smooching] Yes, I am. But not just kind of. Totally and completely and forevermore. And I still can't believe Chloe gave me my sweet angel back to me.
Brady: So glad that she came to her senses, that's for sure.
Nicole: Brady... my whole life, all I ever wanted was a family, and now that I have it, I can honestly say I've... I have never been as happy as I am now.
Brady: I love you.
Nicole: Oh, I love you too.
Brady: Boo. Hi, baby.
Nicole: I love you too, perfect baby.
[Soft dramatic music]
I-I don't understand. What are you saying?
Chloe: You and Daniel had a dream of becoming parents. And I wanted to give you that dream so badly, but... things got so messed up along the way. And I... I took your child away from you. And I'll never be able to make up for that. I'm sorry. But I don't want to make things worse for you, not anymore. And holly belongs with you, Nicole. You are her mother.
[Cell phone ringing]
Chloe: Hi, Mom. No, Mom, I'm not gonna change my mind. Well, yeah, of course I'm heartbroken. I gave birth to that little girl. I... I love her with all my heart. But Nicole's her mother, and that's who she should be with. Yeah, now we just have to make it official with the court. How's my sweet Parker doing? Aw, I miss him so much. Give him a big kiss and hug for me and tell him that mommy's gonna--
Chloe: Wait, Mom--Mom, can you hold on? I think that's the court calling me. I'll call you back. Hello, this is Chloe lane. What?
[Knock at door]
John: So how's the patient?
Paul: Oh, no longer a patient. I'm sprung.
John: Doctors cleared you?
Paul: Yeah. I'm back to 100%.
John: Oh, man, that is great news, son!
Paul: Yeah. Yeah, thank god for modern medicine. I was worried I was gonna be quarantined here for months.
John: Oh, so was I. I'm so relieved that you're all right.
Paul: Well, you know, uh, I don't know if I've thanked you enough, dad, for everything that you and Marlena went through to find us, to rescue us from that island.
John: You're my son. You should know by now there is nothing I wouldn't do for you.
Justin: Do you realize what you've done? You've opened up this company to potential lawsuits for wrongful termination!
Sonny: People who talk about suing rarely do it.
Justin: My phone's been ringing off the hook all morning from those "fired 50" and their families, demanding justice.
Sonny: Justice? I'm the CEO of titan. I can fire or hire anyone that I want to, dad.
Justin: Sonny, you could have at least attempted to weed out the ones who had no connection to Deimos other than the fact that he hired them.
Sonny: That is connection enough. Not to mention, vetting 50 employees would tie up way too many of my resources and be a big waste of time.
Justin: You should have made the time.
Sonny: I did what I felt was necessary. And after reading this... I have no regrets.
Justin: [Sighs] Deimos never fails to outdo himself.
Sonny: I did the company a favor by getting rid of all those people who were connected to Deimos.
Justin: I got to admit, the chances of titan being linked to any illegal activity did just get slimmer.
Sonny: Uncle Vic trusts me to handle things, and you should too. You need to give me a chance before you judge my performance.
Justin: I just want you to succeed.
Sonny: I will succeed.
I was beginning to think that the cops had found you.
Deimos: We're talking about the Salem PD. They're lucky if they can find their way to the nearest doughnut shop.
Well, they did manage to arrest most of your employees after they raided the halo lab.
Deimos: Yeah. Yeah, well, I'm gonna see what I can do to make sure that those charges don't stick.
Since they didn't nab you, I'm sure that there's still a warrant for the candy man's arrest.
Deimos: Okay, I'm-- I'm gonna be fine.
This'll help. It's not safe to use your cell, but with this burner phone, the cops can't trace your location.
Deimos: Well, I'm gonna be gone before they even try. But not before I get my hands on a certain investment.
You're still after that amulet.
Deimos: Damn right, I am. And I know just how to get it.
Brady: That slippery bastard.
Nicole: Talking about Deimos?
Brady: Yeah. How that man manages to elude the police, I'll never know.
Nicole: They're gonna catch him. And when they do, I hope the charges stick. No one deserves to be in prison more. When I think about how he almost cost me my daughter--
Brady: Hey, hey, hey. He didn't. He didn't, okay? And she is yours forever, and there is nothing that he or Deimos or anyone else can do about that.
Nicole: It's over, isn't it?
Nicole: This nightmare that I've been living the past few months? And Deimos is out of my life, and holly and you are in it.
Brady: How lucky are we, hmm? How lucky are we?
Nicole: We're so lucky. I just wish that...
Nicole: Well, you know, I have a tendency, when I feel really happy, I worry that it's not gonna last.
Brady: Hey, we all have a tendency to do that, to varying degrees, anyway.
Brady: I know. I know.
Nicole: Hi, baby. I don't know. I don't know, because some people, they--they-- they take it for granted. I know that they deserve to-- to be happy, to feel loved, safe. But I know--I-I don't. I know how fleeting it is, how rare it is to--to feel the way that I feel. And I sure as hell don't take it for granted.
Nicole: Neither do you.
Brady: Neither does she.
Brady: Like she said, how lucky are we?
Brady: We're so lucky.
Nicole: Not only to have each other but to have two beautiful children.
Nicole: It's okay, badooey. It's okay, badananu. It's okay.
Brady: One beautiful, hungry child right now. Reminds me, we got-- we got to work on her room.
Nicole: Oh, yes, a room for holly.
Nicole: Oh, can we paint it pink?
Brady: Of course you want to paint it pink. She's a girl, so we paint it pink, right?
Nicole: Gonna paint it pink. Okay, okay, all right, cliché, I get it. How about lavender?
Nicole: Would you like lavender?
Brady: Is that a color?
Nicole: Yes, it's soothing.
Brady: How about you color it any color you want?
Nicole: Okay. How about-- oh, what do you think? Holly, how about a blue ceiling, huh, with some white fluffy clouds?
Brady: White clouds, yup. I can see it.
Nicole: And a crib, of course, 'cause she's gonna grow out of that bassinet before no time, huh? And how about a rocker for when I feed her bottle, maybe sing to her?
Brady: It all sounds good.
[Cell phone ringing]
Nicole: Oh. Oh, Daddy, my phone. Yes.
Brady: Who is it? What's wrong?
Nicole: Can you hold her for me?
Brady: Yeah. Come here, baby.
Nicole: Hi, Chloe.
Chloe: Hi. So judge Thorpe called, and I guess he needs to see us right away.
Nicole: Who's "us"?
Chloe: He just said you and holly and I, that we need to meet him in his chambers.
Nicole: Well, why? I mean--I mean, why do we have to meet him in his chambers or anywhere? I thought all we had to do was sign the--the transfer-of-custody papers.
Chloe: Uh, yeah, I thought so too. But apparently there's some sort of complication.
Paul: Why don't I get us some tickets to a cubs game, huh? I got a feeling they are gearing up for a repeat of last season.
John: Yeah, wouldn't that be something?
Paul: Yeah, you know, I could call, uh, Kevin and see if he could get us some, uh--some box seats.
John: You know, son, as much as I would love hanging with you at Wrigley and seeing the cubs go all the way for two years in a row, it's just not-- it's not gonna happen right now.
Paul: Oh, let me guess. Uh, the ISA needs you back on assignment or...
Marlena: Is there no way to get out of this?
Eric: I tried-- for my sake and Nicole's. I called the judge, trying to get them to consider changing our community service, and they said there was no way they would even think of changing it.
Marlena: Honey, I'm so sorry.
Eric: No, it's all right. I can handle it.
Marlena: I know you can. I know you love what you do. I know you're good at it. Don't you let anything or anyone undermine the confidence you have in what you're doing.
Eric: I won't.
Nicole: Justin, I don't-- I don't understand. I thought this was a done deal.
Justin: So did I.
Brady: Well, then what's going on? Why does the judge want to see us?
Justin: I don't know.
Thorpe: Good afternoon. Please be seated.
Justin: Judge Thorpe. Your honor, we're a little confused as to why we were called here. We thought this matter was already settled between the two parties. Um, as you well know, Chloe lane is completely willing to relinquish the, um, parental rights to holly to her biological mother, Nicole walker.
Thorpe: Yes, I'm aware of ms. Lane's selfless willingness to relinquish her rights to the child in question.
Justin: The child in question is sitting right here with her mother. Her name is holly.
Thorpe: I know her name, Mr. Kiriakis. Lovely little girl. But I have no intention of giving her to ms. Walker.
Come on dad!
Paul: Any chance the ISA will give you a little more time?
John: Afraid not, kid. I've put them off as long as I can.
Paul: You probably already told me. I just forgot. Uh, where were you heading again?
John: That was a pretty good try. [Laughs] Yeah, it was pretty good, but you know better than anybody that I can't divulge those details, especially to family. Good try, though.
Paul: Yeah, it was worth a shot.
John: Do me a favor?
Paul: Yeah, name it.
John: Check in on Doc while I'm gone.
Paul: Of course. Yeah, she's probably not too thrilled about you leaving either.
John: Well, she knows that I need to finish what I started. And her acceptance of what this case entails makes it a little easier to leave.
Paul: Yeah, well, maybe I should take a lesson from Marlena, be more accepting of sonny's new job and all the demands that comes with.
John: Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I heard that, uh, he was made titan's new CEO. Hell, that's a lot of pressure.
Paul: Yeah, tell me about it.
John: Hey, I got to ask you this. How did, uh--how did Deimos take the news that he was being unseated by his great-nephew?
Paul: How do you think he took it? [Laughs]
Deimos: My young upstart nephew is now number one on my revenge list. Between taking my spot at titan, ruining my relationship with Nicole, now getting his grubby paws on that amulet...
I thought DiMera stole it from you.
Deimos: Yeah, he did. Sonny must have taken it from him. But I'm gonna get it back, and then I'm gonna make him pay dearly for everything he's taken from me.
Since we know he's not gonna just hand it over, how are you gonna get it?
Deimos: Oh, I'm gonna get it, even if I have to pry it out of his cold, dead hands.
Marlena: When does Nicole start?
Eric: Soon. That's all I know. But she may not be there for long.
Marlena: Why do you say that?
Eric: The center might be shutting down.
Eric: It's the lack of funding.
Marlena: I-I didn't know things were that bad.
Eric: Yeah, well, they might be, if the center doesn't find a way to raise some money.
Marlena: Gosh, has somebody thought of organizing a fund-raising event? I mean, we do one for the hospital every year. It raises hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Eric: I know, but it-- mom, that does sound great, but it costs money to make money. Some of the committee members, they said that they barely have enough money for coffee and bagels for the staff.
Marlena: Isn't Julie on that committee?
Eric: She is. Why?
Marlena: Because she's throwing a welcome-home party for Eli and the castaways tonight.
Eric: You know what? I heard about that. And Eli, he's the new owner of the martin house b&b, which he's invited all the residents.
Marlena: Uh-huh. So it's sounding perfect. Maybe we could, uh, use that party as sort of a kickoff for a fund-raising campaign.
Eric: You don't think Julie would mind?
Marlena: Well, she's on the committee; she must know how bad things are. I think--I think she'd be glad to help.
Eric: I know, but it's so last-minute.
Marlena: She is perfect and up to the challenge. Why don't I give her a call and see what she says? I think it's gonna work out just fine.
Nicole: Wait. Not giving me my baby? What are you talking about? What does he mean, Justin?
Nicole: What is he talking about?
Justin: Nicole, let me handle this, okay? Judge Thorpe, as you can well imagine, we are shocked and, uh, disconcerted by your decision to deny custody to ms. Walker. After all, she is the child's mother.
Thorpe: Unfit mother. She broke the law, Mr. Kiriakis, went on the run. And this isn't the first time she was convicted for kidnapping.
Justin: My client was desperate to see her daughter again.
Thorpe: And you think that absolves her from guilt?
Justin: I think it explains why--
Thorpe: It explains nothing. Which is why I cannot in good conscience allow this reckless woman to raise that child.
Justin: This isn't about your conscience, judge Thorpe. Nicole walker is the biological mother of this child.
Thorpe: I'm well aware of that.
Brady: Well, then you should be well aware that you can't do this.
Thorpe: I can. And I will.
Nicole: Please, god, no.
Chloe: I'm so sorry.
Nicole: Okay, but-- but now what? What--what happens to my baby?
Thorpe: She will be in a safe and loving environment.
Nicole: What? What does that mean?
Thorpe: I'm putting her in foster care.
Nicole: Oh, god.
Nicole: No. No, please, not foster care.
Brady: Come on, this is insane.
Justin: Judge Thorpe, this little girl has a mother. She's right here. She does not need foster care.
Thorpe: My decision is final.
Nicole: Can't you just give holly back to Chloe? She knows Chloe. She loves her.
Thorpe: Chloe lane should not have had custody in the first place. She stole the child.
Justin: This is outrageous. We will file an appeal, and we'll get this overturned.
Thorpe: Oh, I doubt that, Mr. Kiriakis.
Nicole: Why are you doing this to me? This is my precious baby, my only child. She's a part of me and her father, who was a great man who we lost in a tragic accident.
Thorpe: Then you should have thought of that before you put her in danger.
Nicole: So... does this mean I'm never gonna see my child again?
John: Hey, kid, I'm gonna meet doc for coffee. You want to join us?
Paul: You know, I would, but sonny's supposed to stop by the martin house.
John: All right. Doesn't sound like his new job's interfering too much.
Paul: You know, it's not so much what it's doing to us. It's--it's more what it's doing to sonny.
John: How do you mean?
Paul: I-I feel like the power's already gone to his head. I mean, we talked, and he plans on firing 50 people right off the bat.
John: Why would he do that?
Paul: Because they were hired by Deimos.
John: That's it? No other reason?
Paul: No, I mean, these are good people. They're hardworking people who could be just as loyal to sonny as they were to Deimos. But no, he doesn't want to take any chances.
John: Hmm. Sonny's a good kid. He'll settle down.
Paul: I just feel like he's out to prove that he can be just as ruthless as Deimos.
John: You know, Paul, sonny's been through a lot the last couple years, you know, starting with losing will, right up to that plane going down. I got a feeling that once he, you know, is more comfortable and hits his stride here, he'll find--he'll find the right balance again, not only in life but in love.
Paul: Yeah. I hope you're right.
John: Yeah. Besides, he's got a lot of people around him who will help pull him through, right? People who love him. Like you.
Deimos: Bottom line, I'll do whatever it takes to get my hands on that amulet. The $20 million I'll get when I sell it will provide me the seed money I need to expand my halo operation.
While you try to figure out your next move on that, I may have a bit of good news.
Deimos: I'm definitely primed for good news.
So before they raided their labs, a special batch of halo was made and delivered to me. I give you halo 2.0.
[Soft dramatic music]
Sonny: Hey. I was about to head up to your room.
Paul: Yeah, I felt a little confined up there. Too much time in the hospital room.
Sonny: Yeah? Well, how you feeling?
Paul: Well, I feel better than when I first got back.
Sonny: That's good. You look better. Looking good.
Paul: [Chuckles] Thanks. Um, you don't. You look really stressed.
Sonny: Yeah, well, dodging shooting daggers will do that to a man.
Paul: Mm. What happened?
Sonny: Just got back from the titan office, where there were 50 recently terminated employees packing up their stuff.
Paul: So you went through with the firings?
Sonny: Absolutely. I had to. I couldn't risk that they still might be loyal to Deimos. I just didn't know I'd feel like such a creep about it. I did, however, give everyone a huge severance package.
Paul: Yeah, well, I'm sure they would've preferred to keep their jobs.
Sonny: I'm a terrible person.
Paul: No, no, you're a good person. I mean, the fact that I'm still here is--is proof of that. I mean, you risked your life to save mine many times.
Sonny: Yeah, well, that wasn't a tough decision.
Paul: Yeah, well, now that you're titan's CEO, you're gonna be faced with nothing but tough decisions. And hopefully you'll be able to make them without losing who you really are.
Sonny: Well, that's easier said than done.
Paul: Yeah, well, I have faith in you-- to follow your gut... [Chuckles] You know, do what you feel is right.
Sonny: So you don't hate me?
Paul: No, not even possible.
Deimos: This-- this is what I've been waiting for.
How is that different from the original halo?
Deimos: I had a scientist in Greece eliminate the lethal force from the original drug. Once the alteration was complete, I had the new formula put on a flash drive, hidden in the box the amulet came in. This, my friend, is that new formula.
I assume you want me to line up a buyer.
Deimos: You know what? I don't think so. I think I'm gonna use this new and improved formula for my own benefit. But I need to get that amulet first. And I'm gonna do that. Today is the day.
Thorpe: Ms. Walker, I'm not saying you'll never see your child again.
Brady: What are you saying? Because I need some clarification here.
Justin: Brady, Brady.
Thorpe: Holly will be in foster care for the time being.
Nicole: "Time being"? Wait, what does that mean?
Thorpe: Even though I strongly believe that you're not fit to raise a child, ms. Walker, I'm willing to revisit this situation in 60 days.
Nicole: Oh, so-- so two months.
Thorpe: And I warn you, ms. Walker, there'll be no missteps on your part during that time. Otherwise, the situation could become permanent.
Justin: And during that time, I assume my client can have contact with her daughter?
Thorpe: You assume wrong.
Justin: Okay, then can another member of the family visit the child? Um, her grandmother, perhaps, Maggie Kiriakis? I'm sure it would be a tremendous comfort to my client if her grandmother could report back to her. And frankly, your honor, your refusal to allow that would be cruel.
Thorpe: Fine. Maggie Kiriakis can have visiting privileges, the details of which will be worked out at a further date.
Nicole: Thank god.
Thorpe: And now I have other matters to attend to, so I suggest you all disperse. I'll have the bailiff call in a social worker to escort holly to her foster home.
Nicole: Okay. Hey, holly. My precious girl. I love you so much. But we are gonna be together again, okay? Two months. Two months, and I'm coming back for you, all right? And it's gonna go by fast. I promise you, it is gonna go by fast.
Brady: Super fast, super fast. It's only two months. And I love you. Your mommy loves you too. Everything's gonna be fine.
Thorpe: Ah, ms. Rasher. You remember little holly.
Rasher: Hi, holly. Hi. You'll be coming with me, okay?
Rasher: It's okay.
Brady: It's okay. It's okay.
Nicole: [Breathing heavily]
Brady: It's okay. Go ahead. Go ahead. It's okay.
Brady: It's okay.
Rasher: It's okay. It's okay. Shh.
Brady: It's okay.
Rasher: It's okay.
Brady: It's all right.
Rasher: It's okay.
Brady: Thank you.
Rasher: Okay, thank you. It'll be fine, okay? Shh.
Brady: [Shushing] It's okay. Okay. All right.
Sonny: Looking at you now, it's hard to believe that you were ever as sick as you were.
Paul: Yeah, seems like a really bad dream. I mean, the only thing missing was Gilligan and the skipper.
Sonny: It's crazy how that little mosquito caused so much pain.
Paul: Yeah. Made me so psychotic that my friends almost had to put me out of my misery.
Sonny: I would never let that happen.
Paul: No. You were the one that saved me. I mean, not only from shielding me from the others, but... it was your love that pulled me back from the brink, made it possible for me to hold on to whatever sanity I had left. Thank you... for never giving up on me.
Sonny: I could never give up on you. I love you too much.
Marlena: I know you have to go. I just wish we had some more time.
John: Yeah, me too. But according to the ISA--
Marlena: They want you there yesterday.
John: Doc...[Clears throat] Before I go, I want to give you a little something.
Marlena: An airplane?
John: It's for your charm bracelet.
John: It's a little symbol of our latest and greatest adventure together and a little reminder that one way or another, I'm gonna come flying back to your arms.
Marlena: I love it. I love you. I don't need a reminder. You're always on my mind. You are always in my thoughts.
John: You're always in mine, doc.
Marlena: I am going to miss falling asleep in your arms. It just always makes me feel like, in that moment, it's you and me against the world.
John: You're not making my leaving any easier. You know that, don't you?
Marlena: I know. That's the idea. [Sighs]
John: I got to shove off. Come on.
Marlena: You'd think, by now, this would be a little bit easier--
John: I'm never gonna get used to being without you, doc. Hey.
John: What are you-- what are you doing right now?
Marlena: I was going to, uh, go to the office and--and... try to lose myself in a pile of paperwork so I wouldn't be missing you so much.
John: Hmm. Well, you know what? I'm not ready to start missing you yet. I need to make one more stop, and I--I really want you there with me.
Chloe: Nicole, I'm so sorry. I feel like it's my fault. None of this would be happening if it wasn't for me.
Nicole: No, don't. It is not your fault, Chloe.
Chloe: Well, that's-- that's very kind of you to say, but... listen, you guys, if you need anything from me, I'm supposed to fly to new York to be with parker, but I will stay here for a while. I will do whatever you need.
Nicole: [Crying] No, no, it's--it's okay. I'll be fine.
Justin: Nicole, we're gonna fight this. I will file an appeal, and you will get your daughter back. I promise you.
Justin: Just hang in there.
Nicole: Okay. See you later. Oh, god, Brady. How could this be happening?
Brady: I don't know. I don't know.
Nicole: I'm gonna get her back.
Nicole: We... are gonna get her back.
Brady: We will. We will.
Nicole: Okay. So that means... no more crying. No more self-pity. I have to prove myself, right? I have to prove myself to the judge-- to everyone-- that I'm a reasonable person, I am a strong person, and I am capable of being a good mother to my daughter.
Brady: That's right. That's right. That's exactly what you're gonna do.
Nicole: And I'm gonna-- I'm gonna get my darling holly back, right?
Nicole: I'm gonna have her back forever. Well, at least until college.
Brady: That's right. That's--yeah.
Nicole: Okay, so if I'm gonna prove that I'm a decent, upstanding person, then I have to do my community service.
Brady: That's right. That's right. You're gonna do that.
Nicole: It's about to start soon, so I-I should be going. I have to go, Brady.
Brady: You better get going. You better do what you have to do, okay?
Nicole: I will.
Nicole: I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna focus on proving myself. And I'm gonna be strong for holly. I love you.
Brady: That's my girl. I love you too. I love you too. I love you.
Paul: I love you too, sonny. More all the time.
Sonny: Still think you'll feel too confined up in your room?
Paul: Are you sure you don't have something you need to take care of over at titan?
Sonny: At the moment, I have everything under control.
Brady: So what's going on? I heard Paul was in the hospital again. Is he okay?
John: Hey, no, no, no, no. He's fine. In fact, the hospital released him less than an hour ago.
Brady: Oh, okay.
Brady: So the jungle madness--is that what--
Marlena: Completely out of his system.
John: I am happy to say that both of my sons have bounced back from the brink of death in equally miraculous ways.
Brady: [Chuckles] Well...
Marlena: Brady? Something wrong?
Brady: Uh... it was a bad day for--for me. Holly was taken from Nicole today.
Brady: A judge declared her as an unfit mother, and holly was-- she was put into foster care.
John: Ah. Damn, kid, I'm sorry.
Brady: It's okay. He's going to, uh-- the judge is going to revisit the case in two months, and then-- then we'll get her back.
Brady: We--we will get her back.
Brady: But on a happier note, we should celebrate the fact that Paul is fine. Right? Let's have a-- let's do something.
Marlena: Yes, yes.
John: Yeah, we will. We will.
Marlena: Such good news.
John: Just, uh, we'll take a rain check. It's not gonna happen right now.
Brady: I know that look. Don't tell me you're going on assignment again.
John: [Sighs] Wish I could stick around a little longer. Just dropped in to say good-bye.
Brady: That's... the fact that you came means everything.
John: Yeah. Also, listen, I wanted to, uh-- I wanted to thank Nicole for saving your life. You know, she took a hell of a gamble, coming back when she did.
Marlena: Eric said that she's doing her community service at the Horton center.
Brady: Yeah, I'm sure he-- he's as thrilled about it as she is.
Marlena: Well, that's not going to be very easy. He'll do his best. I hope she will too.
Brady: We'll soon find out.
