Episode #13079 ~ Lani goes behind JJ's back to meet with a drug dealer; Chad tells Abigail he's not giving up on her; Tripp suspects that Steve isn't the one who killed Ava; Chad & Kate plot to steal an antiquity coveted by Deimos.
Provided By SuzanneTripp: But I'm starting to think he might never come around. At least not as long as his mother's ghost is haunting us.
Jade: Okay, stop. If you changed your mind, just say it.
Tripp: Changed my mind?
Jade: About me moving in. You clearly regret making the offer, and that's why you're being such a grump about helping me pack.
Tripp: I don't regret making the offer, although I thought we finished moving most of your stuff.
Jade: I found more.
Tripp: Okay. Anyway, I'm--I'm glad to have the company. And I told you before, I would never let you be homeless.
Jade: So you're still cool with me moving in?
Tripp: Totally. And for the record, if I had changed my mind, I'd tell you straight up.
Jade: Good to know. So if it's not about that, then what's with the dark and brooding act?
Tripp: I--I can't stop thinking about what you said last night, how Steve killed my mom to protect someone he loved.
Jade: Did I say that?
Tripp: Yeah, right after you told me not to give him too much of a hard time about ending her life. So tell me, who was Steve protecting?
Kate: I'm not taking it back.
Chad: Excuse me?
Kate: Well, if you summoned me down here to scold me for pointing out that Abigail is moving on, I'm not taking it back.
Chad: No, I didn't. I actually summoned you because I just got off the phone with Grigor.
Kate: Does he have another artifact for us to sell on the black market?
Chad: Well, he called about one in particular, and it's incredibly rare and can be extremely profitable for DiMera enterprises.
Kate: Okay, I'm listening.
Chad: If we do snag it, it's gonna really piss Deimos off.
Jennifer: Well, good morning.
Abigail: Hi. Hi.
Jennifer: Hi! Hi. You look like a woman on a mission.
Abigail: Oh, it's my first day at my new job.
Jennifer: How you doing? Are you nervous?
Abigail: Yeah, hopeful and excited. I just--I feel like today is really--it's the first day of my whole new life on my own. And it's the first time in a long time I just feel really free.
Lani: [Chuckles] Same here. I'll see you soon. Bye. Would you let commissioner Raines know I need to speak with him? Thanks.
JJ: Am I interrupting?
Lani: No. Just my dad checking in.
JJ: Probably thinks like I do. You should have stayed in the hospital one more day.
Lani: JJ, Kayla said the tests showed I was fine.
JJ: But the fact that you woke up clothes torn and out of it from the drug that guy slipped you--
Lani: Did you speak with your friend, the one who works narcotics in Chicago's south side?
JJ: Yeah. I'm waiting for his call back.
Lani: Okay. Well, I'm sure he has his hands full with this whole halo epidemic taking over the city.
JJ: And now it's spread to Salem, thanks to creeps like snake, who's probably using these missing women to either make it or push it. At the very least, we do know that he's getting them hooked on it.
Lani: Dolly never mentioned drugs.
JJ: Have you talked to her since she met with him?
Lani: I tried, but her phone's been disconnected. So she's either running scared or--
JJ: Or snake got to her, which is why I'm relieved your cover has been blown.
Lani: We don't know that for sure.
JJ: The fact that he hasn't called you tells me he knows and he's lying low.
JJ: Either way, I'm a lot more comfortable knowing you won't have to deal with that creep again.
[Cell phone ringing]
JJ: My Chicago connection. Hey, Scottie. What have you got for me?
[Knock at door]
Raines: You wanted to see me?
Lani: Snake called. He wants to meet again, as soon as possible.
Joey: If Tripp knew the truth, that I'm the one who killed his mom...
Steve: Joe, Joe, you got to stop that.
Joey: Then you two would be bonding over hot dogs, beer, and baseball.
Steve: And you'd be in prison. We've been over this.
Joey: I'm already in prison. Don't you get it? This guilt, it doesn't get better. It gets worse... every day! I think about what I did every day! And I think about what it's doing to you. Your own son hates you. You're being punished because of something that I did.
Steve: I understand how you feel. But you've got to let me take that punishment. Because what happened to Ava is my fault. It's my fault for letting her back into our lives again.
Joey: You didn't know how far she would go for revenge.
Steve: I didn't? Oh, yeah, I did. Ha! I knew she was out of her mind, and I let her back in anyway. I should have done something a long time ago to take care of that situation. You never should have been in that hospital room. If I had done something, you never would have met her. Her death is on me. You get that? Joe... it's on me. Listen to me. You got to let me take it.
Joey: I can't.
Steve: You got to. Look at me. I'm your dad. I can take it. Please... give it to me.
Joey: [Cries] I'll never forget how you stepped up for me, dad.
Steve: I know. I'm just so thankful I was here to do it. Who knows? Maybe someday your brother will give me a chance to be there for him too. Huh?
Lani: One more chance, that's all I need.
Raines: Are you sure snake doesn't suspect you're a cop?
Lani: The fact that he called to meet again--
Raines: Could mean you're walking into a trap.
Lani: True. I am missing a big chunk of what happened, thanks to that drug he slipped me.
Raines: He could have gone through your phone, your wallet.
Lani: I was undercover. I left nothing incriminating on me. But I might have said something while I was under the influence. There's only one way to find out. I have to pursue this. There are too many lives at stake.
Raines: Okay. But you need backup, and Deveraux is your best bet.
Lani: No. I told you last night that there's no way that JJ will be on board with me going back to snake.
Raines: Fine, then I'll go.
Lani: Wait, you're gonna be my backup?
Raines: So what, you don't think I know how to do this anymore?
Lani: No, I just--
Raines: You need to wear a wire. That way, if something goes wrong, you won't be at the mercy of that animal.
Jennifer: Okay, have a-- have a great first day.
Abigail: Okay, yeah. Well, good or bad, I'm gonna call it a win for team Abby, because I just-- I did it on my own. I went and I got a job and I got my own place and I didn't have any favors from my friends or my family and...
Jennifer: I'm really proud of you.
Abigail: Thank you.
Abigail: Got to go, 'cause I got to drop him off at the day care and I just-- I don't want to be-- ah, late, okay.
Jennifer: Oh, listen, I don't want to step on your independence at all, but maybe--maybe I could just have Thomas for the morning and get a little grandma time with him.
Abigail: Don't you need to be at "the spectator"?
Jennifer: Well, not until this afternoon.
Abigail: Oh, well, I-- I did tell Chad that I was gonna drop Thomas off at the mansion on my lunch break.
Jennifer: Okay, I can do that.
Abigail: Okay. Yeah, it would be really nice to get in early, as long as you're sure.
Jennifer: I am positive. It--it's fine.
Jennifer: You go. Go.
Abigail: Okay. Okay, bye, sweetie. Oh, I love you. Be good for grandma, okay?
Abigail: All right.
Jennifer: Okay, have a great day.
Jennifer: I love you.
Abigail: Bye. I love you.
Kate: You certainly seem to have rebounded from last night.
Chad: Yeah, well, I'm just happy to have something else to focus on.
Kate: Well, I'm happy that you're open to our new lucrative source of revenue. I thought Abigail might talk you out of it.
Chad: Well, as my wife, she still has a say in the company, but in the end, I call the shots.
Kate: Oh, that's what I like to hear.
Kate: So tell me about this artifact that we're gonna grab from Deimos.
Chad: Okay, so it's an ancient Egyptian amulet that was discovered on the body of pharaoh Ramses ii. Now, it was believed to have been destroyed when Ramses lost power, but Deimos had Grigor on the hunt for it.
Kate: Ah, before Grigor defected.
Chad: Correct. And now Deimos has hired somebody else, and Grigor believes that they have recently found it.
Kate: Uh-huh, so we're gonna grab it from him before he delivers it to Deimos.
Chad: Yes, and it is worth $20 million.
Kate: I like that number.
Chad: Who wouldn't?
Kate: Well, I don't see any reason not to proceed.
Chad: There's one.
Kate: What's that?
Chad: [Laughs] It's cursed.
Kate: [Laughs] You can't be serious.
Chad: Oh, I am.
Kate: Well, I don't believe in curses. I believe that you make your luck, good or bad.
Chad: Indeed. However, this particular piece has a very interesting past.
Kate: Give me an example.
Chad: The three Englishmen who discovered it all met with very, very violent deaths.
Kate: Ooh, unfortunate coincidence.
Chad: Is it an unfortunate coincidence that several of the family members and distant relatives also met with a very tragic end?
Kate: Well, perhaps it's a self-fulfilling prophecy once they found out about the curse.
Chad: Perhaps. However, another descendant, after inexplicably losing his eyesight and attributing it to the curse, buried the amulet 50 years ago in England.
Kate: Well, evidently, it's been dug up, and we need to intercept it before Deimos does.
Chad: So you're not--you're not the least bit unnerved about the bad energy surrounding this thing, which--which--which, for the record, started when the original owners found it?
Kate: You mean plagues of frogs and locusts, rivers turning to blood? No, believe me, it's gonna take a lot more than that to keep me from a good deal.
Chad: I'm not surprised it doesn't bother you, but brother André's a little bit more superstitious than us, so he might have something to say about it.
Kate: Well, luckily for us, he's climbing Machu Picchu, and I don't think the chances of getting a wireless signal up there are very good, so...
Chad: Okay, then we move forward. Why don't we get our hands on this little gem?
Kate: And turn around DiMera fortunes.
Chad: That's right.
Jennifer: You're looking so much like your daddy these days. Maybe that'll help your mama remember how happy she was with him.
Jennifer: Oh, hey there.
Steve: This is a nice surprise.
Jennifer: How are you? Hey, buddy, look. It's your uncle Steve.
Jennifer: Say hi.
Steve: Hey, little dude. What's shakin'? You got a little bunny rabbit? Wow, he is so handsome.
Jennifer: So cute, right?
Steve: All the girls are gonna be chasing after you, man. Wow.
Jennifer: Yeah, so I heard, uh... heard you have a new son.
Jennifer: How's that going?
Steve: Well, not so good.
Jade: I'm telling you, I'm totally fine. Besides, I'm in the middle of moving. Okay, fine. I'll come in tomorrow. Well, I have a full-on liver again. I just wish they would stop asking me to come in for more tests.
Tripp: Maybe they want to see the whole picture.
Jade: Okay, then take pictures, not blood.
Tripp: You know, I wouldn't mind getting the whole picture myself when it comes to who Steve was protecting when he killed my mom.
Jade: I just meant he was protecting his family. From what I heard, Ava had it out for all of the Johnsons, which is why he didn't have a choice.
Tripp: But that--that totally contradicts what he told me, that he was--that he killed her because he was following ISA orders.
Jade: Yeah, well, there's that too. He definitely had more than one reason to smother Ava with a pillow.
Jade: Sorry. I didn't mean to blurt it out like that. Look, I know you're trying to figure out this whole parent thing, but maybe you're better off not knowing.
Tripp: Why would you say that?
Jade: Because I know firsthand what it feels like to get the whole truth when it comes to parents. And god knows, I would have been better off not knowing.
Tripp: Why? Why, what did you find out?
Jade: Basically that I wasn't planned and they never wanted me. Even after I gave my dad part of my liver, he was still ready to toss me aside like yesterday's garbage.
Tripp: I'm sorry. I didn't even realize.
Jade: All I'm saying is, maybe you're better off not knowing all the grisly details.
Tripp: I just think it'd be easier to figure out how to feel if I, you know, knew a little more intel.
Jade: I think you're asking for trouble. If you're smart, you'll stick to Steve and Kayla's version of what happened and move on.
Tripp: I wish it was that easy.
Jade: Well, it's not like you can ask your mom for her side of the story. Besides, the cops believe your dad's take on what happened, so maybe you should too.
Tripp: Maybe I should.
JJ: Welcome to the exciting world of police work.
Abigail: Yeah, I was actually wondering where you were.
JJ: Need me to show you the ropes around here?
Abigail: No. Actually, I need you to finish filling out all these rr-11 forms. JJ, only your signature's on this.
JJ: Gladys used to do that for me.
Abigail: Gladys? She the old receptionist?
Abigail: Okay, well, I'm the current one. I don't do your work for you.
JJ: Oh, that's fine. Happy first day.
Raines: [Clears throat]
JJ: What did he want?
Lani: Oh, just patting me on the back for that shoplifter I collared last week.
JJ: Took him long enough.
Lani: Yeah, what did your friend from Chicago say?
JJ: Gave me some leads on potential dealers snake might be dealing with. About to go check 'em out now.
Lani: Okay, well, I need to go finish my report from last night, so you be careful.
JJ: You too. Raines doesn't pat anyone on the back, least of all Lani.
Abigail: What are you talking about?
JJ: She's still going after snake.
Abigail: Isn't that the guy you guys are trying to catch? He's responsible for all of those missing women.
JJ: That's the one. And I'll be damned if Lani is gonna be his next victim.
Abigail: So what are you gonna do?
JJ: I've already done it.
Abigail: JJ, what do you mean?
JJ: Knowing Lani won't give up mid-case, I planted a tracking app on her phone. I'll be able to know where she is. I'll be able to make sure she's safe.
Steve: So yeah... being responsible for Ava's death put a big, fat wrench in the father-son bonding I was hoping for.
Jennifer: I'm sorry.
Steve: But, you know, at least he's connecting with Kayla and Joe. Kayla got him to come to a family dinner last night.
Jennifer: That's good. How'd it go?
Steve: Eh, you know, not too bad. Until Kayla and I started talking about how we met and fell in love. He seemed to like hearing the stories, but then... he started thinking about his mother again.
Jennifer: Well, he'll come around. He will. You just have to give him some time. I mean, do you remember how you were when you found out jack was your brother? I didn't think you were ever gonna get past that.
Steve: Well, neither did I.
Jennifer: But you did. You and Tripp will too.
Steve: Well, I sure hope so.
Steve: Wow. Seeing this little guy reminds me just how much I missed with both of my boys.
Steve: I guess it's easier to deal with them at this age, though, huh?
Jennifer: Oh, yeah. It seems like the older they get, the bigger the problems.
Steve: Wow. Yeah, I heard how Abigail cut out on Chad.
Jennifer: Yeah. It breaks my heart for both of them but mostly for this little guy. And there isn't anything that I can do to fix it. I just have to love 'em through it.
Steve: Yeah. Love 'em through it.
Chad: Okay, so-- so you said that the amulet's on its way to the Kiriakis dealer in Greece? No, no, no, no, no. No, um, I would prefer to meet him in person. No, why don't-- why don't you set up a meeting and I will arrange to be there? Okay, thanks, Grigor.
Kate: We didn't miss our chance, did we?
Chad: Oh, no, no, no, no. I think this is gonna turn out very well for us.
Raines: All right, there you go. Say something so I know that it works.
Lani: One, two, one, two.
Raines: All right, great. All right, now, remember, all you have to do is to get snake to admit that he drugged you. Once we have confirmation on that, you need to get the hell out of there.
Lani: The hell out of there. Right.
Raines: All right, Lani, once I know that you're safe, I'm sending in the cavalry. I'm gonna put that lowlife behind bars where he belongs.
Abigail: Stan from the AV department just dropped this off for you.
JJ: Thank you.
Abigail: What's that supposed to do?
JJ: It's a listening device on the same frequency Raines just checked out before he left with Lani.
Abigail: I don't like this, JJ. Look, if this guy is as dangerous as you guys say he is, then Lani's not the only one that's in harm's way.
JJ: Don't worry about me.
Abigail: But it's not like anyone even knows that you're-- you're tailing Lani. If something happens to you, then what am I gonna do?
JJ: I need to make sure Lani is safe. Besides, you know I'm on it. So unless something goes wrong, keep that to yourself.
Abigail: Just don't go trying to be the hero, okay?
JJ: It's my job, sis.
Jennifer: Hey there.
Chad: Hey. Hi! Ping.
Chad: Oh, how's my boy?
Jennifer: Just be real quiet.
Chad: How are you?
Jennifer: He's great. He was perfect, as always. And we had a wonderful time together.
Chad: Where's--where's Abby? I thought she was bringing him.
Jennifer: She's at work.
Jennifer: Mm-hmm. First day at the Salem pd.
Tripp: Uh, who do I talk to about the details of a murder case?
Abigail: Oh, it might be me. I'm not sure. Sorry, it's my first day. You know, what's--what's-- what's your name and what's the name of the victim?
Tripp: It's my mother, Ava Vitali.
Abigail: Wait, are you Tripp?
Tripp: Do I know you?
Abigail: Oh, I'm Abigail, your cousin, sorry. My dad, jack, he--he's your dad, Steve's, brother.
Tripp: Right, Abigail.
Abigail: You know, I heard you were in town. I meant to introduce myself.
Tripp: Yeah, it's a small town. We would've met sooner or later.
Abigail: Yeah. Well, I'm glad we finally did.
Tripp: Me too.
Abigail: So you're looking for information about your mother's death. You know what? Just-- will you give me a moment? I'll--I'll see what I can find out. Okay.
Snake: Good to see you, Tonya.
Lani: [Chuckles] You too.
Snake: You ready to go to work?
Lani: I am. I need to make some money, and I'm willing to take on as many clients as you'll give me.
Snake: Ooh, I like your enthusiasm. So will they. All right, girl, let's get you started, hot stuff. What do you say?
Lani: Well, I say wait. You said on the phone you would answer my question when I saw you about the last time we met.
Snake: What about it?
Lani: I mean, I woke up on the path outside the square. My clothes were torn. I had scratches and bruises all over my body.
Snake: Now you're as good as new.
Lani: But I don't remember. I mean, last I knew, I was drinking champagne. So... why did I black out?
Chad: Yeah, I was--I was-- I was really hoping to see Abby.
Jennifer: Well, she would have been here if I hadn't jumped in, 'cause I just wanted to get some time with my grandson.
Chad: And I would never begrudge you that, but I got to admit I'm having a serious problem with the way Thomas is being shuttled back and forth right now.
Jennifer: No, I understand. I don't like this situation as much as you. And for what it's worth, I really believe that you and Abigail are gonna work things out.
Chad: I appreciate that, but I'm not sure there's much more I can do to convince your daughter that I'm committed to our marriage.
Jennifer: Chad, please, just be patient. Be patient with her. For some reason, she has this-- this need to exert her independence. But I really believe, in the long run, it's gonna serve her well.
Chad: Hmm, and what about, in this quest for independence, she falls in love with somebody else?
Jennifer: Like Dario Hernandez?
Chad: Yeah, so you know that he's in love with her.
Jennifer: Yes, she told me about that, but she looks at him as a friend. That's it, nothing more. Really, I believe the two of you are going to end up together.
Jennifer: Don't give up on her.
Chad: I haven't. I haven't.
Jennifer: I know you're hurt, and I don't blame you. But if you just give her the space that she needs, I guarantee you she will come back.
Abigail: Hey, not bad for a first day.
Tripp: Oh, did you find something?
Abigail: Yeah, I found the case file on Ava Vitali's death.
Abigail: So since this is public record, you're welcome to look at it, especially because you're a member of the family. But I went ahead and I made a copy for you to take home if you want.
Tripp: Uh... this--this is strange. It says that my dad was arrested at the scene of the crime, which was the victim's hospital bed. Well, why--why was my mom in the hospital?
Abigail: Well, I actually know the answer to that, but I don't know if you're really gonna want to hear it.
Tripp: It can't be worse than what I've already heard.
Abigail: My aunt Kayla found her at home with a syringe in her arm, and apparently, she was trying to kill herself and she was planning to frame my aunt for the murder.
Tripp: How--how did she get to the hospital?
Abigail: Kayla brought her in.
Tripp: So your aunt Kayla ended up saving my mom's life?
Abigail: Yeah. When your mom regained consciousness, she accused my aunt Kayla of trying to kill her.
Tripp: And--and you're sure that Kayla's telling the truth.
Abigail: What reason would she have to lie?
Joey: I thought you were moving out this morning.
Jade: Yeah, I just wanted to give you back your key.
Joey: Oh, thanks.
Jade: Sorry it's taking me so long to get out of here. I had more stuff than I realized.
Joey: Looks like you're leaving with more than you came with. Isn't that Claire's shirt?
Jade: She won't miss it. And if she does, she knows where to find me.
Joey: I'm sure you'll be hearing from her.
Jade: Don't be such a boy scout, especially not after I left you the last box of thin mint cookies. Top shelf in the back of the coat closet. It'll be our little secret.
Joey: Jade, I still don't know if moving in with Tripp is a good idea.
Jade: Oh, come on, are you still freaking that I'm gonna tell him you offed his mom?
Joey: Would you keep it down?
Jade: Sorry, it's just, I mean, I told you I wouldn't tell him, and I won't.
Joey: Okay, fine.
Jade: Even if I did have a little slip earlier, I don't think Tripp suspected anything.
Joey: You what?
Snake: Doesn't really matter what happened last time we met. You're here now. You look great.
Lani: [Chuckles] I just--I'd like to remember, that's all. I mean, or to at least know why I don't.
Snake: Well, it must have been the champagne. I mean, you said yourself you're a lightweight, remember? You remember that?
Lani: I do. But, baby, I only had a few sips. I mean, come on. I won't be mad. Did you spike it?
Snake: You were nervous. I gave you a little something to take the edge off.
JJ: That's it, Lani. That's all you need. Now go.
Raines: Okay, no, no. We got what we need. Now get out of there.
Snake: And they get a cash bonus if they can get their clients to partake.
Lani: So what exactly is it? I'm--
Snake: The best kind. The best kind. It's called halo. There you go. Now that you've had a taste, you're gonna-- you're gonna keep coming back for more. So there you go.
Lani: I have no problem offering it to my clients, but... I think I'll keep my wits about me.
Snake: You're gonna be missing a great high.
Lani: [Chuckles] Well, I wouldn't know since I passed out before I could feel anything. Besides, as far as I can see, it makes you forget what you're doing and where you've been.
Snake: Yeah. Well, some things are better off forgotten, aren't they?
Lani: Hmm. Well, I'm a girl who likes to make memories.
Snake: [Sighs] [Laughs] You're not reading me, baby.
Snake: It wasn't a request. You're gonna take it whether you want to or not.
Joey: Why are you talking to Tripp about this? How did you slip? What did you say?
Jade: I just said that your dad only killed Ava to protect someone he loved.
Jade: Well, it's partly true.
Joey: My dad told Tripp that he was following orders from the ISA.
Jade: Yeah, well, I forgot that part.
Joey: This is bad.
Jade: Stop panicking.
Joey: If Tripp's still asking questions, that means that he's not accepting the official version of what happened.
Jade: Okay, well, even if he doesn't accept it, the only people who know the truth love you too much to rat you out. Well, I do, anyway. Besides, now that I'm living with Tripp, I can make sure he stays in the dark.
Joey: Yeah, if you don't slip again.
Jade: Okay, stop stressing. I promise, everything's gonna be fine.
Abigail: Is this a bad time?
Chad: Uh, no.
Abigail: I just--I forgot to give my mom Mr. Bailey. So I thought I'd run him over on my lunch break.
Chad: Right. Um... how was your first day at the station?
Abigail: Busy, yeah. In fact, I should probably go. So I'll just--I'll run this upstairs really--
Chad: No, I got-- you know, I-- I wanted to apologize about my behavior yesterday.
Chad: Last night. I'm--I'm--I'm sorry.
Abigail: It's okay. It's over, so just forget it.
Chad: And... we have to... figure out a better way to communicate. You know, 'cause whatever this is we're doing, we need to make something work out for Thomas.
Abigail: Yeah. Yeah, you're right, we--we do. I want to do what's best for him, for Thomas.
Lani: Hold on, okay? We don't--we don't have to rush anything yet. Now, if I'm gonna be working for you, I really want to get to know you better. So you say all the girls take halo.
Snake: Yeah, you don't want to be left out, do you?
Snake: Big--big bread.
Lani: Well, maybe I can meet some of the girls and they can tell me what I'm missing.
Snake: You talk too much. You don't remember, but...
JJ: Damn it.
Snake: You got really quiet...
Raines: Come on, I told you to get out! I told you to get out!
Snake: When you were on the drug. And I like you better that way.
Snake: You... bitch! Huh? What is this? Are you a cop?
Aleve with direct therapy-
Steve: So that's a double mocha latte? Okay. Anything else? Do for my beautiful wife? You know I'd do anything for you, baby. Okay. I love you too.
Chad: You're--you're-- you're right, we need to focus on Thomas, but I want--I want you to know that I am not gonna forget about us and I know--
Abigail: Chad, I really don't think--
Chad: Listen to me, please. I know that you need to figure things out by yourself right now or for yourself. And I fought it at first, but I want you to know that I support you, whatever you need. If you need space and time, I will give it to you. But you have to remember one thing.
Chad: I love you with all my heart. There is only you. There will only ever be you. You're my wife, my best friend, and my partner, and I--and I hope someday you believe that again. And when you do, I will be right here. And I hope that you give me a chance to make you happy again someday.
Raines: I need backup at the Salem inn now! Hurry up!
JJ: Damn it, Lani! Why couldn't you let this go?
Lani: Let me explain.
Snake: Explain what, that you're a cop?
Lani: No one knows I'm here. Okay, if you'll just...
Snake: Shut up!
Lani: Put the gun down.
Snake: Shut up! You know what time it is? It's time-- it's time to up the dosage. That's what time it is. Pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up, man. This is not fun and games with you. Don't get defiant either. Last time, you had one. Now you're gonna have three. Take 'em.
Lani: I'll overdose.
Snake: That's the plan.
