Episode #13038 ~ Nicole fears for her life as she hides out with Holly; Brady confronts Dr. Lee about what he knows about Nicole; Eric tells Jennifer that he will not accept a job at the Horton Center; Ciara confides in Hope about her feelings for Theo.
Provided By SuzanneNicole: Oh, God, please. Not for me, but for holly. Could you just throw a little luck our way? Help keep holly and me safe. I mean, I didn't--I didn't mean to end up in this awful place, and if anything happens to her, I... oh. Oh, sweetheart. What have I done?
Chloe: Hello? How is sitting here, staring at a computer screen helping find my child?
Chloe: No one's had the decency to call me. It's been over 12 hours and no update. Are there no new leads?
Hope: Chloe, I understand. It's a mother's worse nightmare, but for your sake and for holly's sake, please, you need to try to keep it together.
Chloe: Really, you expect me to keep it together when my child has been kidnapped? There's no way I'm going to keep it together until you find my child.
Ciara: Yeah, it was nice to meet you too. This weekend? Um, actually I'm busy all weekend. No, no, no. It wasn't that. Anyone could just forget their wallet at home. Okay, okay, look. I want to be honest with you, I think you're, like, a really cool guy, but I just don't think we're a fit. Hello?
Ciara: That's what I get for trying to be nice.
Jennifer: Say something.
Eric: This is kind of you, but I...
Jennifer: No, it's not kind. There is no one more qualified for this job at the Horton center. I mean, you have so much experience. You were a priest. You worked in Africa.
Eric: Those days are long gone.
[Knock on door]
Eric: Come in.
Jennifer: Surprised you wanted to see me in person. Last time I was here, you were pretty anxious to get rid of me.
Eric: I'm sorry.
Jennifer: It's okay. I understand you value your privacy. What did you want to talk to me about?
Eric: The job you offered me at the Horton center.
Jennifer: Have you made a decision?
Eric: I have. Your offer, it's very kind. I'm not going to accept it. 'Cause as I've told you before--
Jennifer: You've told me many times before, you don't feel like you deserve to help people because, heaven forbid, it might give you some sort of satisfaction.
Eric: Jennifer, you--
Jennifer: Can I--can I try to give you another proposition? What about--what if you don't have to deal directly with people? I mean, we need help in the back at the Horton center. There's sorting donations; there's heavy lifting. I mean, you've been doing labor on the farm--
Eric: Jennifer, the answer is still no.
Eric: I'm sorry.
Jennifer: Listen, can we just maybe... just keep it on the down-low. How's that? We won't tell anyone, and I know you said you might have trouble reacclimating--
Eric: Jennifer, there's not gonna be any trouble because I'm not accepting the job! No means no. Stop being so stubborn!
Hope: I assure you the Salem pd is doing everything in--
Chloe: What exactly is the Salem pd doing?
Hope: I don't know. I'm not on the case.
Chloe: Belle assured me that you would be able to help me, and if anyone would be sympathetic to my cause, it's you.
Hope: I am, believe me. Nicole broke the law, and we will find her. I mean, the Salem pd will find her. Chloe, I'm sorry. I wish there was more that I could do, but I can't and... I've been restricted from-- from field work. I can't help you; I'm sorry.
Nicole: Sweetheart, I'm so glad you're asleep. And from now on I'm going to do exactly what dr. Lee says. I'm going to have your bottle ready as soon as you wake up, okay?
[Knock on door]
Theo: What's wrong? You look upset.
Ciara: Um, I don't want to get into it now, but I just... I just had a date with a guy that I met online.
Theo: Not great?
Theo: Well, hey, don't give up, you know? I'm sure your next date is going to be a lot better.
Ciara: Hope so.
Theo: You're a great person, Ciara. You know, any guy would be lucky to be your boyfriend.
Ciara: Thanks, Theo.
Jennifer: I'm being stubborn? The fact that you will not even meet me partway is maddening. But I am not giving up. Please, just take the job. What if it's only for two weeks? No promises, no contracts, and if you can't stand it, you can just--
Eric: Because I'm not going to do that, Jennifer.
Jennifer: You are not the same Eric that I have known for years. I know that I called you cowardly the other day, and I am sorry for that. That was the wrong word. It was not a fair word at all. You really are, like, one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known, and for some reason, you are just not allowing yourself to have any kind of satisfaction in your life anymore.
Eric: If that's important, you should probably take it, because we're done here. I'm sorry you came all the way out there.
Jennifer: It's about Nicole.
Eric: What? What about her?
Jennifer: She's in trouble. She's in big trouble.
Nicole: Hi. Uh, can I help you?
Tiffany: I sure hope so. I--I'm tiffany from next door.
Nicole: Oh. Um, hi, tiffany from next door. What do you want?
Tiffany: Do you happen to have a clean towel that I could borrow? This place isn't exactly known for it's housekeeping, and I'm starting to get the skeeves using the same towel over and over again.
Nicole: Yeah, yeah, sure. Just hang on a sec.
Tiffany: Oh, is it okay if I come in?
Nicole: Yeah, okay, of course, yeah.
Tiffany: Oh, look. It's a baby. Oh, is she yours?
Nicole: Yeah, that's hol-- heather. She's mine.
Tiffany: Oh, my gosh. She's so beautiful. Hey, you. Oh, look. She's smiling at me. Oh, wow, she has your eyes.
Nicole: Oh, you think so?
Tiffany: Oh, yeah. I'm sure you get that all the time, and, I mean, I haven't met your baby daddy yet, but this little doll, she certainly takes after her mom. Is he around?
Nicole: No, actually. He's not.
Tiffany: Right. So you're running solo, then.
Nicole: Yeah, it's complicated.
Tiffany: I love complicated. So, do tell me everything. What's your story?
Brady: Thanks for the update. And if Nicole contacts me for any reason, I will-- right. All right, hit me back with any new developments, all right?
Nicole: I'm afraid that if the baby doesn't get any nutrients soon, that she's--
Lee: Not to worry. I can definitely help.
Brady: Excuse me. Um... dr. Lee, right?
Lee: Uh, yes, I am.
Brady: I'm Brady black. I don't know if you remember, I spoke to you a while back about a sticky situation with two friends of mine, Chloe lane and Nicole walker.
Lee: I remember. And I think I told you then, as I will repeat again, it's unethical for me to discuss my patients with you.
Brady: No, no, I understand that, but you must have heard that Nicole actually took off with her baby. It was hers and Daniel Jonas's. Chloe lane actually carried the child.
Lee: Uh, yes. I...heard. That's, uh, very unfortunate.
Brady: Excuse-- but I'm not done. Please, just hear me out.
Lee: I'm in a hurry, Mr. Black.
Brady: I can--I can... I can see you're in a hurry. I can also see that you are awfully, awfully nervous, doctor.
Lee: I'm not nervous in the least.
Brady: Really? 'Cause I'm getting the impression that you might know more than what you're telling me right now.
Brady: Doctor, let me put it to you this way, if there's something that you know about this situation, you better spill it to me right now.
Claire: Hey, Ciara.
Ciara: Hey. Thought you were sleeping.
Claire: Yes, I was, and it was a very deep, comfy sleep. Thanks to my boyfriend. Nothing beats a little cuddle nap. [Chuckles]
Claire: Look, I overheard; I hope you don't mind.
Claire: Yeah, that your online date didn't go so well. You know, I think that Theo's right. You shouldn't give up. See, who knows, Mr. Right could be just around the corner.
Theo: Hey, um, I'm starving. You guys want to go to the pub?
Claire: Yes, you read my mind. Theo: All right. You want to come?
Ciara: No, I have stuff I got to do here.
Theo: Okay. Well, if you change your mind, you know where we'll be.
Claire: All right, see ya.
Lee: Excuse me, but I have patients I need to see.
Brady: Hold on. See, Nicole is my dear friend, and it's very important that I find her, so don't make this harder than it has to be. All right? 'Cause I'll go there if I have to. Are you hearing me?
Lee: Yes, I did speak with Nicole today, though very briefly.
Brady: Did she say where she was? Did you get a sense of where she was?
Lee: No, she didn't say. She was having trouble bottle-feeding holly, so I offered her my suggestions, and that's the last I heard from her. But I swear to you, I had no idea at the time that she kidnapped the child and was a fugitive.
Brady: There was a nasty custody hearing over holly, and Chloe got parental rights and Nicole was devastated and she snapped.
Lee: I'm sorry to hear about that. It's hard to believe; the two of them seemed like the best of friends. Do you think it would help if I did go to the authorities?
Brady: No. Listen, I don't want you to go to the police. I'm trying to keep the police out of this. My hope is to find her and convince her to bring the baby back voluntarily.
Lee: All right, I wish you luck with that.
Brady: Do me a favor. If she contacts you again, call me. Will you do that?
Lee: Yeah, absolutely. And you do the same, please.
Brady: Hey. I have to see you right away.
Jennifer: I'm guessing your Spartan existence doesn't include watching the news.
Eric: Jennifer, what happened to Nicole?
Jennifer: She kidnapped her biological child, the baby that Chloe gave birth to.
Eric: What, I don't understand.
Jennifer: Before Daniel died, he and Nicole wanted to conceive a baby through in vitro, and Chloe agreed to be the surrogate, but it didn't take the first time. But the second time, and after Daniel passed away, Chloe realized that she was pregnant with Daniel and Nicole's baby.
Eric: So Nicole does have a child?
Jennifer: Yeah. She named her holly.
Eric: Holly. That's a beautiful name. So if Chloe agreed to be a surrogate...
Jennifer: It's so complicated. Yes, that was the original agreement, but then Chloe decided to keep the baby because she disapproved of Nicole having a relationship with Deimos Kiriakis.
Eric: As in Victor.
Jennifer: Yeah. He's his younger brother, and he is bad news. He tried to bribe the judge that was presiding over the custody case, but then a new judge came in and sided with Chloe, so that judge awarded Chloe the baby, so Nicole, I guess, went to the hotel and took holly and left town.
Eric: How could Chloe do that to Nicole? All she ever wanted was a child. And now, I mean, Nicole...
Nicole: Well, there's-- there's not much to tell, really. I mean, I was--I was a fool to be with him as long as I was.
Tiffany: Don't beat yourself up. It's not a crime to fall in love with someone, right? But love, man, that is-- that is a four-letter word that can really screw with your head.
Nicole: Yeah, that's for sure.
Tiffany: Truth is, I've been in a few abusive relationships, myself. But I didn't have a kid to worry about.
Nicole: Yeah, it makes it more complicated.
Tiffany: I bet. But, hey, it's good that you got out.
Nicole: Yeah, it was... It was rough, but I feel like I made the right decision. I mean, my husband might be a worthless piece of scum, but my daughter is the love of my life. And I would do anything for her. Anything.
Ciara: What are you doing here?
Hope: Well, I'm on break.
Hope: I'm back, yes. So I thought I would stop by and see how my very beautiful daughter is doing. Wow, this is quite some place.
Hope: Where are all your roommates?
Ciara: Uh, my roommates aren't here. I think--they're in either class or with their boyfriend or girlfriend.
Hope: Okay, so... honey, what's going on? I can tell something's upset you.
Ciara: Um, I've been doing a little online dating.
Hope: Online dating?
Hope: What, you think that's safe? I mean, you are being super careful, right?
Ciara: Yeah, I mean, I haven't been on it for long, but I just had this date with a guy, and it was, like, really disappointing. But, um, from what I hear, you have to be in it for a while, at least give it a chance. That's what Theo says.
Hope: You talked to him about it?
Ciara: How pathetic is that? I mean, the guy that I'm supposed to be with is giving me dating advice?
Ciara: And then Claire wakes up from her cuddle nap and says all these gushy things about him. Mom, I hate this.
Hope: I know, baby. I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. I'm sorry.
Ciara: I think about him all the time. I guess that's what you'd call obsessing, right?
Hope: No, not at all. You know what, honey? That is called normal, completely normal. 'Cause you know what, when you are crazy about someone, that's what happens. You think about them all the time.
Ciara: Even if it's a lost cause? If they love someone else?
Hope: Even so. Yes, because it's about our feelings, and that's something we have very little control over, if any.
Ciara: Do you think...
Hope: Do I think what?
Ciara: Do you think there's any chance for Theo and me? Or am I wrong to even think that? 'Cause, I mean, Claire's family. I shouldn't want Theo to break up with her.
Hope: But you do.
Ciara: I do.
Hope: I know. Mm, I should...
Ciara: What? Mom, what are you thinking?
Hope: Nothing, I can't.
Ciara: What is it? Please. Please.
Hope: I just--I... part of me always thought that you and Theo would possibly wind up together. I mean... okay, maybe he can't express himself easily all the time, but that never stopped you from understanding him, and vice versa, right? I think.
Ciara: Yeah. Well, so much for that special connection now. Because he and Claire... mom, do they even seem right together to you? That's what I thought.
Hope: What happened, anyway?
Brady: Hey. Thanks for meeting me on short notice.
Paul: Yeah, of course. It sounded urgent. Figured it had something to do with Nicole?
Brady: Yeah, it does. I have a job for you.
Paul: Yeah, whatever I can do to help.
Brady: I spoke with a dr. Lee. He was the in vitro specialist that was working with Nicole and Chloe. Apparently Nicole called him. This is his card. I need you to use all your resources, trace that call, zero in on her location. You think you can do that?
Paul: You got it.
Brady: Thanks. Oh, and Paul, I don't want the police involved. No cops.
Tiffany: Don't you worry about a thing. Tiffany's got yo back. [Laughs] No, us gals have to stick together, right?
Nicole: Yeah. I mean, no, it's--it's... it's funny. I mean, we barely know each other, but I am so glad you're here. I suddenly don't feel so alone.
Tiffany: Well, I have been told that a little bit of me, it goes a long way, so just, if I--give me a slug if I get too pushy.
Nicole: You know, you remind me a lot of myself back in the day.
Tiffany: Oh! With that gorgeous face and that hot bod, I will take that as a supreme compliment.
Nicole: No, seriously. I'm glad you knocked on my door. You know, you've really cheered me up.
Tiffany: Well, you cheered me up too. So let's get down to business and then we can do the gal pal thing. So what can I get you? Do you need anything?
Nicole: Well, I really-- I don't want to put you out, but I do--I do need some diapers and formula and maybe some grownup food for Mommy. [Chuckles] I would do it myself; I just don't want to risk being spotted. You know, by my husband.
Tiffany: We're not gonna let that happen. Okay, I'll take care of it.
Nicole: Thank you, tiffany. You are such a lifesaver. Let me get you some money, okay?
Tiffany: Hi, baby.
Nicole: All right.
[Tense musical flourish]
Nicole: And go free to get yourself something to eat too.
Tiffany: Oh, thank you. That's really nice. I--okay, I'll be back in a jiff. Okay?
Nicole: Okay, thank you.
Eric: I just can't even imagine what Nicole is going through right now.
Jennifer: This whole situation is such a nightmare. I mean, Nicole finally gets this baby that she has always wanted and it gets taken away from her. But now she's a fugitive, which makes the whole situation so much worse.
Eric: It's so heartbreaking to happen. I just... I just feel so sorry for Nicole. That little girl.
Jennifer: Yeah. I think Nicole would be really touched to see that you care so much.
Eric: I doubt that. I'm just happy to know that there's part of Daniel that's still alive in that little girl. Along with, you know, parker and Melanie. I just wish I could just...
Jennifer: What? You wish you could just what?
Eric: You know, it doesn't even matter. Nicole shut me out of her life, and who the hell could blame her? (Vo) if you have type 2 diabetes,
Ciara: I pushed Theo away one too many times. I mean, I'm not surprised he ended up with Claire. She's pretty and talented. I just--I wish that she's stop flaunting it in my face. Like, I'm going to steal her boyfriend or something.
Hope: Well, um, Claire may actually be struggling with some insecurities of her own. You and Theo were very close for a long time, honey.
Ciara: Julie thinks that I should tell Theo the truth.
Ciara: She said that if I'm honest with Theo, it's the only way that I'm going to have peace of mind.
Hope: You know what, how about being honest and truthful with Claire?
Ciara: With Claire? Why?
Hope: Because she's your family. I think that she would understand if you told her the truth. In fact, you know what, honey? She probably isn't even aware that she's hurting your feelings at all.
Ciara: I don't think she'd care.
Hope: Ciara Alice.
Hope: Give her the benefit of the doubt, please. She deserves that, okay? I really think the Claire that we both know and love will-- she'll be much more sensitive to your feelings than you think. Don't underestimate her, okay? All right.
Claire: I want to thank all my peeps out there for tuning in to another episode of "life with Claire," because I honestly cannot do it without you. So please make sure that you like and subscribe and get the word out there to your friends and tell them about it. All right, thank you. Ta-ta. [Laughs] Because 200 viewers is a freaking joke. What am I gonna do with 200 viewers? I don't know, not be famous.
[Country music playing]
Theo: Great. That was my buddy who has the same bio class that I have with professor Newfeld, and he said he gave a pop quiz this morning. I'm totally not prepared.
Claire: Okay, what? Sorry, Theo. I--I just do not have time to deal with that right now. Okay? I have problems of my own.
Brady: How are you holding up?
Chloe: How do you think I'm holding up? My daughter was stolen from me. What? What is that look for?
Brady: You know damn well why I'm looking at you like that.
Chloe: What, you don't think I have a right to be upset? To be going crazy over this? I carried that child. I gave birth to her.
Brady: Holly--holly is Nicole's baby, Chloe.
Chloe: Holly is my child. The court awarded her to me.
Brady: The court--it doesn't make it right.
Chloe: Oh, yeah, really? What makes it right? If you decide it's right? If Nicole decides it's right? Yeah, 'cause you two have such stellar judgment and have lived such exemplary lives.
Brady: Wow, and you have? Are you kidding me?
Chloe: Holly is my child, legally and in my heart. That is not up for debate. And so help me God if I find out that you helped Nicole pull this off.
Brady: Chloe, come on. You know me better than that. Stop it.
Chloe: Oh, do I? Really? 'Cause even when Nicole is so obviously wrong, you always side with her. Why is that, Brady? It's because you're in love with her--again.
Jennifer: Eric... haven't you suffered enough? I mean, are you ever going to just stop torturing yourself?
Eric: It's not about me. It's what I did. It ruined lives.
Jennifer: Right. So now you're responsible for Nicole's predicament? For Chloe's? I mean, you could figure out a way to take the blame for everybody's predicaments in Salem, in the whole world. I mean, heck, I'm unhappy and frustrated and you are definitely to blame for that right now. I mean, you just keep piling this guilt on yourself. Are you ever going to give yourself a break? Listen, what happened that day, the accident, it's the last thing that you wanted to happen. I know that, but that's why they call it an accident. And yeah, you were driving drunk, and that is a--that is a terrible thing to do. But I know you. I know that you did not mean to hurt anybody. Because at your core, you are probably the kindest, most generous, loving man--
Eric: Stop trying to save me, Jennifer!
Jennifer: I'm not gonna stop trying to save you! I will never do that, because I believe in you. I don't care what you say, I don't care what you do. And you know what, your family and you friends, they believe in you too. If you could just acknowledge and accept that, it will just lift your spirits more than you know. That's why you need to be around your family and your friends right now, Eric.
Eric: What is the matter with you? I can't be around anybody right now. Especially not you.
Brady: Could we by chance just stay on topic here?
Chloe: You are so in love with her; I can see it in your eyes.
Brady: Chloe, come on. How I feel about Nicole has nothing to do with the issue as to whether holly is Nicole's daughter or not, all right? So stop it.
Chloe: Yes, it has everything to do with your defense of her indefensible actions.
Brady: Her indefensible actions, really?
Brady: Really? Indefensible for her. The woman that we know. The only thing she's ever wanted in her life was to have a baby. We've seen the grief that she's gone through. How many babies has she lost? Is it indefensible for her to really go to extremes because she wants to lay claim to a daughter that's biologically hers in the first place from the man that was the love of her life, Daniel, who is now dead? And holly is the last thing that she has left of him? Are you--would you sit on your ass and let someone else take your baby away from you, your one and only baby?
Chloe: It's not her baby. She did not conceive her, carry her, give birth to her.
Brady: Oh, God, Chloe!
Chloe: I did those things. And the court sided with me.
Brady: Who cares about the court? It doesn't matter. You're being--being cruel.
Brady: You're being malicious, and it's not like you to be like this. And you are a mom. You're a mother.
Chloe: What does that have to do with anything?
Brady: 'Cause you're already a mother, Chloe. You don't need this baby to make you a mother. You already had that satisfaction and that joy and that love in your life.
Chloe: Oh, my God.
Brady: You already have it!
Chloe: So what, your logic is if you already have a child, then you should just give up your other one to someone who doesn't have one?
Brady: Holly is Nicole's daughter. You know it.
Chloe: What is this about, Brady? You're so in love with her, you have fantasies of raising this child together?
Brady: Oh, for God sake. No, no. Not that it's any of your business, no, I don't feel anything for Nicole except for friendship, Chloe, and I don't know where she is. If I did know where she was, I would drag her butt back here and I would talk some sense into her.
Chloe: Well, you'd better get cracking, 'cause I just left the police station where I lit a bonfire under their asses to get moving on this.
Brady: I am going to find her first.
Chloe: Yeah, we'll see. But if you do, you damn well better do the right thing.
Claire: I'm not--I'm sorry, Theo. I didn't mean to say that what you're dealing with isn't important, 'cause it is. It's just, you know, right now, I'm dealing with a lot too.
Theo: All right, what are you so stressed about?
Claire: My singing career. It's on the fast track to oblivion. You know, and my viewership is dropping, because I have to focus on these stupid pointless college classes.
Theo: I don't think they're pointless.
Claire: All right, fine, maybe not, but they are all stupid.
Theo: Okay, I have to head over to the library to cram because my bio class is coming up, so I will see you later at the loft.
Claire: Good luck. Bye.
Claire: Ciara. Hi, I didn't even see you come in. What's up? Why do you look so serious?
Ciara: I need to tell you something, and it can't wait.
Jennifer: Hey, well, one minute I think we're reconnecting, and the next minute you're ready to show me the door. So once you figure out that I was right, you can come find me; you'll know where I'll be. But I'm not staying here. It's so infuriating and frustrating to be in a house where someone has been given a second chance and all they want to do is squander it away.
Eric: Okay, Jennifer. You can just--
Jennifer: I don't want to hear it; I don't want to hear it. I've heard it. I have it memorized. "I don't deserve to be happy. I'm not good enough to help other people. I don't deserve to be loved by my family." Just so tiresome. I'm gonna tell you this one more time: You have your life back. The choice to live and matter in this world is yours. Let's party!
Claire: Look, Ciara, I'm sorry, but whatever you have to tell me, it's gonna have to wait. Okay, we'll talk later at the loft, okay? Right now, I have a career to deal with.
Brady: Hey. Did you get a location?
Paul: Yeah. So I was able to hack into dr. Lee's phone, pinpoint the cell tower that picked up Nicole's call. Now, this is the address to that cell tower.
Brady: That's exactly what I need. That's exactly what I need. Thank you. Thank you.
Paul: Hey, did you want me to come with you?
Brady: No. I need to do this on my own.
Chloe: Oh, God, I miss you so much. Please, dear God, bring my daughter back to me.
Tiffany: Hey, boyfriend.
Tobey: Hi, beautiful. What's the scoop?
Tiffany: Well, I talked to that woman we saw check in, and she is definitely alone. She only has a baby with her.
Tiffany: And the chick is totally loaded.
Tobey: Let me guess, the two of you have become fast friends.
Tiffany: You know it.
Tobey: And the cash?
Tiffany: I know exactly where that is.
Nicole: Mommy made a new friend. Isn't that great? Now we're not so alone anymore. Maybe we can even stay here for a while. I think we're safe now. Finally safe.
