Wanda: Hope, going back into the general population before those wounds have fully healed can be--
Hope: Hey, seriously, I am good, I am so good. Good to go.
Wanda: Your life, kiddo.
Hope: You've been great, Wanda. Thank you for all your help.
Hattie: Hey, Wanda.
Hope: Hey, hi.
Hattie: What do you think you're doing?
Hope: I... am getting dressed. Yeah, I am good to go.
Hattie: You know what? Maybe you could fool Florence nightingale or that prison quack, but I know a dame in pain when I see one.
Hope: Hattie... okay, maybe I'm not 100%.
Hattie: You are not a percent of a percent. You kidding me? You need at least a little more time, you know? Just try to rest up a little bit. Give it another week or two.
Hope: [Sighs] Look, I appreciate your concern. Hattie, I do, all right? I do, I just--there's just no way in hell I am gonna hide out in here. Both Sheila and coco try for a complete takeover of this cell block, no-- I'm not abandoning you. Or any of the other women out there, okay, who are counting on me.
Hattie: Yeah. Yeah, I got that. Look, I know that you were a cop, but... thing is, it--well, you got a lot of these dames to come over to your side now.
Hope: And now they're counting on me.
Hattie: Yeah, well, you know what? You can't do anything while you're walking wounded. You need--you need another day. And maybe that guy, that tall, dark, and--oh, my gosh--handsome guy, maybe he'll pop in for a visit, you know?
Hope: Not today. He's in Europe, remember, Hattie? Trying to locate Stefano.
Hattie: Oh, yeah, yeah, trying to find that creep. And then if he finds him... then you're free.
Hope: From your mouth to god's ears.
Hattie: Yeah, well, that'd be great, that'd be just great. That'd be great if you're not dead by then.
Marlena: All righty. The hard part's over--we're all checked in. Now let's see if we can find a needle in a haystack.
Rafe: Yeah, I'm gonna drop this, call Shane. See if he can set up a meeting with Reznik.
Steve: Hey, listen, nobody unpacks. We traveled light for a reason, we may have to leave at a moment's notice.
Paul: What, you set to meet with those other ISA agents? Go over the, uh, surveillance photos?
Steve: I'm all set. Listen, if Stefano is living here, he's bound to have a network already in place, which means he may already know we're here. So if he spots you, Marlena, he may decide to act first and ask questions later.
Marlena: I understand what he's capable of doing. I'll be on the alert. Thanks.
Paul: God, I don't want to be a pessimist here. I mean, we do have a picture of Stefano. Or, at least, we think it's him. But, I mean, we are working under a big assumption, okay? That he really is still alive.
Rafe: Well, I never thought I'd say this, but I want him to be alive. That means hope gets out of prison.
Marlena: All we have to do is find him.
Steve: Oh, we'll find him. If he's still in the game, if he's here, we're gonna find him, wrap him up tight, and ship him home.
Jade: Oh, that's it, I'm out of here, I'm out of here.
Joey: No, jade, wait, the doc, she's gonna be here any minute.
Jade: For what? Joey... our baby is gone. I'm fine and, you know, they took care of me. Why let them go poking around when they're just gonna tell me that I'm still fine. I mean, what's the point? So they can just run up the bill?
Joey: No. Jade, they need to make sure you're okay. And that you can still, you know...
Jade: Still what? You seriously think I still want to have a baby? This was my baby.
Joey: Jade, I know. I know you're hurting. I'm hurting too. But you have to think ahead a little bit.
Jade: I am thinking ahead. I'm what's called "being realistic." Hey, you didn't want this baby in the beginning. Why would you want me to have another one? Why--why would any guy want to hook up with me now?
Jade: [Sighs] It still doesn't make sense.
Ms. Michaels? The doctor will see you now.
Joey: Hey, I can come in with you, if you want.
Jade: No. I'm in this on my own.
Hattie: You know how long it took you to get dressed?
Hattie: What're you gonna do when coco and her pal come after you, huh? Are you gonna fight 'em in slow motion?
Hope: Hey, um... can we talk about Alfie?
Hattie: Boy, you sure don't want to talk about what's gonna happen to you when you get out of this room, do ya?
Hope: Hattie, nothing is going to happen, okay? Let me get some details about Alfie.
Hattie: Yeah. Well...
Hope: Talk to me.
Hattie: I don't--don't know why I talk about him, he's just a waste of my breath.
Hope: Because I promised you I was gonna try to get you out of here, remember? Which means finding Alfie. Which means you need to give me more details about him. Things he did, his likes. Ow, that hurt. His dislikes.
Hattie: I told you everything I know. Told that Mr. Roman, too--oh, handsome Mr. Roman. Any chance he'll be coming to see you?
Hope: Mm, not sure. Listen, I know you explained what happened, but I need more specifics. About the man, himself.
Hattie: The man was a two-faced liar. You know, one time, he said he was gonna take me out for sushi, 'cause he said he spoke Japanese. So we get--[Laughs] We get to the restaurant, and he starts yammering away and yammering away to the waitress, you know, and then she starts yammering away... oh. Well, maybe he does speak Japanese.
Hope: Okay, that's good, Hattie. That really kind of narrows it down. He speaks--I'm gonna put, "he speaks Japanese" down.
Hattie: All righty, you put that right down.
Hope: What else can you tell me?
Hattie: I can tell you--oh, you know what, he used to come into the diner. And, uh, he would order, uh, two eggs over easy, and he always wanted sausage, never bacon. And he would get fierce if you didn't butter his toast right. I mean, who doesn't know how to butter toast? Sorry, sorry.
Hope: Hattie... I don't know, but how about something else? How about something that has nothing to do with food? How about that?
Hattie: Nothing to do with food?
Hope: Mm-hmm. When you were describing him, he sounded sophisticated.
Hattie: Oh, yeah, you know what? You know what... the guy was a real fancy-pants. He had himself one of those, uh--those--an old-fashioned pocket watch, a pocket watch.
Hope: A pocket watch?
Hope: Oh, okay.
Hattie: Yeah, it was a, uh--it was, uh... a chanteuse timepiece limited. It was gold. I don't know if it had an engraving, but boy--whoo! It was pretty impressive.
Hope: Okay, gold limited edition chanteuse timepiece pocket watch.
Hattie: Yeah, yeah, he took really good care of it, too, you know? And I said to him at one point, "you know what, you take better care of that pocket watch than you take care of me." You know what he said? "Oh, no, Hattie, no, no, no. It's one of a kind, and so are you."
Kayla: Hey. It's gonna be okay.
Joey: Yeah, perfect.
Kayla: Sweetie, you know what? You just have to give it some time. You know, if you trust me at all, believe this--it's gonna get better. And just know that your father and I are here with you every step of the way.
Joey: Knowing that dad wants to be here, that's good.
Kayla: You know he'd want to stay here with you.
Joey: Yeah, I know. But what he's doing in Europe is good. There's nothing he could do for the baby we lost. But he does have a chance to help save aunt hope.
Steve: You're welcome.
Marlena: I spoke to john. He contacted Interpol. No help there.
Steve: Yeah, I didn't think there would be. And that photo of Stefano was a lucky break. Looks like we're gonna need a few more of those before this thing is done. So right now, it's just leg work and surveillance.
Steve: Hey, boys.
Paul: Man, you both look like you're on a vacation. Just chatting, all relaxed. I mean, I haven't been this psyched since my first game in the world series.
Marlena: We're not being blasé. We've been here before.
Paul: I'm sorry?
Steve: What she means is, uh... you know, dealing with Stefano, the stakes are always high, but Marlena and I have tangled with him more than a few times. Haven't we?
Marlena: Many more than a few.
Steve: Well, this time's gonna be the last.
Rafe: We need to grab Stefano ASAP and bring him back to Salem. Hope's life depends on it.
Hope: Okay. Now, the information you gave me about Alfie's pocket watch is exactly what I'm gonna need. Let's see what else you remember. How about scars? Tattoos? Anything?
Hope: No? Okay, uh, what color eyes did he have?
Hattie: They were like dirt.
Hattie: He was a dirty liar! The only good thing you could say about the guy was, it was kind of nice to listen to him, you know? He sort of had a way about him.
Hope: Okay, so good speaker. How about--
Hattie: Hey, you know what? Let's knock this thing off. I know you're trying to help me, I know you want to help me get out of here, but that's gonna take years. I'm just--I'm not gonna sit over here yakking about other people and all that if you're gonna be getting out of here. So, uh... oh. There is something you need to know about. While you're holed up in this infirmary, this place is gonna blow sky high.
Hope: Because Chille was murdered?
Hattie: Yeah. A lot of the girls are choosing up sides now. Coco and her pal think they're gonna be the new queen bees of the cell block, but you know what? A lot of us, we don't like that. I got you the names of three other dames that are willing to support ya.
Hope: These three are doing hard time.
Hattie: I know that. Thing is, they know you're brave. They know who they can trust and who they can't trust. They want to see coco and her pal back where they belong. You're the only one that can do that. If you don't help us, nobody else will. So, hey... you up for this or not?
Joey: It does make sense. People talk about it all the time. There are tons of stories.
Kayla: Yeah, right-- that's right. There are stories, there are TV shows, there are movies, but it's not reality. This idea of karma, this retribution for past sins, it's just some supernatural way to explain a situation that is unexplainable. It's not real. It's fiction, Joey.
Joey: So you don't think that there's any way that--
Kayla: No, no. This has nothing to do with Ava Vitali. This is not a punishment.
Joey: Jade sure got punished.
Kayla: No. No. Jade lost the baby because her body instinctively knew that the baby wasn't viable. That's the way nature works. And I'm sorry, it is cruel sometimes, but that's how it works. You know what, you would be really surprised to hear how many women lose their babies in the first trimester.
Joey: But I was the father. And I'm... I'm supposed to... I don't know.
Kayla: I know that you are carrying around guilt. You know what, maybe something good will come out of this. And you will finally go talk to somebody. Did you make an appointment with that psychiatrist that I recommended, dr. Howard?
Joey: No, but I need to. This thing with the baby has really changed me. At least, I see things so much differently now. Especially how life is so-- it's just... it can just disappear. It's good, and then... and then it's gone. I need to find a way to make up for what I did. I have to.
Hope: I don't want any more violence.
Hattie: Oh, man!
Hope: Oh, come on, Hattie--
Hattie: Look, a show of force is all these people understand, you know? Coco-- oh, hey, Annabelle.
Annabelle: Hey, you're looking better.
Hattie: Seriously? You call this looking better?
Hope: Hattie, come on, stop.
Hope: It's good to see you.
Annabelle: Hey, I just wanted to say I'm really grateful that you stuck up for me. And I know you had to pay the price.
Hope: I'm good.
Annabelle: You know, a lot of the other girls, they feel the same way I do. We really need you out there. You know, coco and Sheila, they're gonna give us hell if they take control. I brought you this list. It's five more girls who are willing to back you.
Hope: Wow, this... thank you.
Hope: They understand this needs to be taken care of without violence, though, right?
Hattie: [Scoffs] Oh, boy. Nobody's asking you to pick up a knife. You just got to show a little bit of muscle, you know? Come on, nobody wants anybody getting hurt, here. But it's like an omelet. You want to eat an omelet, you got to crack open a few eggs. Hey, one more thing.
Hope: Ow, Hattie!
Hattie: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I know, I know, I know, I know, but listen, I got to tell you one more thing.
Hattie: Remember this. You got a lot of dames supporting you out there. We got your back. And we'll do whatever we have to do.
Hope: No violence.
Hope: No violence.
Rafe: Okay, just got off the phone with Shane, he set up a meeting for me with Reznik, so...
Paul: That's the one who sat across the man she thought was Stefano?
Rafe: Yeah, yeah, that's the one. Listen, she's on the dl, okay? You know what I'm saying? She's really undercover.
Steve: All right. While you're doing that, I'm gonna be meeting with my other ISA contacts, going over surveillance photos and whatever else they come up with. So Marlena--
Marlena: No, no, no. Before you think about assigning me to some kind of safe little job like taking pictures of local color, why don't I just take that picture of Stefano, the grainy shot that we have, to a local cafe? See if anybody's seen him, anybody knows him, or might even know where he's staying.
Marlena: [Sighs] Fine. I'll take Paul along for protection.
Rafe: Okay, that's good.
Steve: There you go.
Rafe: Smart, yeah.
Steve: Okay. Let's keep a low profile. You too, Paul. I may be wrong about Stefano, maybe he doesn't know we're here. Then again, he could be overconfident. Hell, he might even show up there.
Marlena: Mm. Hope so.
Quilted northern works so well people can forget
Kayla: Joey, call that dr. Howard, okay? I mean, he is the best. And you know what, if you're not comfortable with him, we'll find you somebody else.
Joey: Mom, I'm gonna make an appointment, I promise.
[Cell phone beeps]
Kayla: Sorry. Oh, I have a very full schedule this afternoon.
Joey: It's okay, go ahead. It's no problem. I'm just gonna wait here for jade.
Joey: I know jade's being kind of nasty right now. But do you remember how she was? When she thought we were all gonna be a family?
Kayla: I do. Absolutely.
Joey: I just don't want to forget that side of her, you know? I mean, I could tell she really loved that baby. And maybe she even loved me. And the last thing I want her to feel like is, now that there's no baby, we're just gonna abandon her. Like her parents did.
Kayla: I understand. She needs a place and time to heal.
Joey: So she can still stay with us?
Kayla: [Chuckles] Whatever works, Joey.
Joey: Thank you.
Kayla: Listen, I think all this uplifting and positive talk you've got going on here, you should share with her.
Kayla: That's what she needs most. Okay, my poopsie?
Kayla: Okay, see you later.
Joey: All right.
Sheila: What's that? A threat?
Hope: It was when you left it for me.
Hope: But I'm hoping that we can figure out how to tone things down in here and find a way to make peace.
Sheila: Oh, is that so?
Hope: Come on, Sheila. We're all just trying to make it through in here. Trying to survive. Why make it harder on each other? The hanged man. Mm. It's a good card. I used to love to play hangman when I was a kid. You know what it means?
Sheila: I know what the hell it means. A hanged man in mid-air. He's facing a choice. At a crossroads. Whichever path he chooses leads to success or ruin.
Hope: That's kind of where we are.
Hope: You and coco seem to be out for blood. Preferably mine. There's still a chance to talk. And who knows, maybe, uh... maybe we could work out some of our problems. It's an important choice, don't you think?
Coco: Well, what choice did my old man have when you busted him, locked him up, and threw away the key?
Hope: Well, he could've chosen not to commit that crime.
Coco: You know what I'm thinking, Sheila? I think this bitch just didn't get stabbed, I think this bitch fell and hit her head and knocked all her brains out on the floor.
Sheila: [Chuckles] Yeah, and I think she thinks she has a choice. And the only choice I see is when and where we'll stomp that scrawny little head of hers.
Coco: Yep, that sounds about right. Took us years to get rid of Chille. And now it's our turn.
Sheila: And we gonna take it.
Hope: We'll see about that.
Sheila: Oh, please say you'll fight back. You gonna put up a fight?
Hope: Oh, I don't know what's gonna happen, but is that really what you want? Huh, Sheila? Is it?
Reznik: I've been mixing it up with these guys for over four years--buying enough arms to outfit a small army. They finally trusted me enough to let me in on this major meet they were having here in Prague.
Rafe: That's where you saw Stefano.
Rafe: Look, this isn't a written report. Where you think you saw Stefano?
Reznik: Let me explain. So there was this long table. Everybody sitting at it was on the who's who list of illegal arms dealers. There was one empty chair at the head of the table. Everybody kept whispering, like they had to be quiet, respectful, waiting for somebody they called "Mr. D." Finally, the door opens and in he walks.
Rafe: Stefano DiMera.
Reznik: Possibly. The lighting at that end of the table was kept low, obviously on purpose, and he wore this hat pulled down over his forehead. But it definitely seemed like DiMera to me, though I don't know his voice. So right away, I alerted Shane.
Rafe: And here we are.
Reznik: Like I said, it's a maybe, not a definite. But I'm glad you guys are following up on it.
Paul: How's this?
Marlena: Oh, fine.
Paul: Hey, good afternoon.
[Speaks foreign language] Two coffees?
Marlena: Uh, yes, but first, can you tell me if, uh--if you've seen this man in the cafe?
Oh, no. He was coming, uh--smoke
[Speaking foreign language]-- Cuban cigar. He drinks strega.
I think so.
Paul: Has he been around here lately?
A week ago. Perhaps two? I get your coffees.
Marlena: Oh, my gosh. If the waiter remembers him, maybe other people do too?
Joey: Hey, jade. Jade, come on, slow down.
Joey: I said I wanted to walk you out. Didn't you hear me?
Jade: Look, Joey, you're... a really good guy. A great guy, even. Maybe too great for me. And I really--I really, really, really appreciate you still pretending that you care about me.
Joey: I'm not pretending.
Jade: Our baby's gone. We're not joined at the hip anymore. So say good-bye.
Joey: Hey, wait, hey, hey. Hey, look at me. Look at me. What if I don't want to say good-bye? Jade, I'm your friend. I'm still here for you.
Steve: So Joe's still feeling like it was his fault?
Kayla: Yeah, I keep thinking I've talked him out of it, and then, uh, it pops up again.
Steve: [Sighs] Well, losing the baby was a terrible thing. But he's got to stop blaming himself. We have to help make him see that it wasn't his fault, it wasn't some kind of payback.
Kayla: Uh, actually, I think he's starting to realize that. Even though he's thinking about it all the time. I got him to agree to make an appointment with that psychiatrist that I recommended. He really needs somebody to talk to.
Steve: Yeah. And he's got us.
Kayla: Yeah, that's another good thing. I mean, he knows that he has both of us there for him, no matter what.
Steve: That's good.
Kayla: So, um, what's going on over there?
Steve: Well, not a whole lot yet. But we're working on it. With any luck, we'll find Stefano. And hope will go free.
Coco: Bad news. I just did a quick check, and most of gen pop is ready to go with hope.
Coco: Yeah, I mean, we got a few on our side, but it's slim pickings.
Sheila: So if this turns out to a all-out bloodbath, then--
Coco: We're screwed.
Sheila: Damn. But you know, most of them bitches are weak. And we pull out a show of force, they'll fall in line.
Coco: A show of force, like...
Sheila: How 'bout one dead cop?
Coco: [Chuckles] Yeah, that sounds good to me. [Laughs]
Rafe: So when do you think that we could possibly get a meeting with Mr. D?
Reznik: That would be iffy.
Rafe: Yeah. Well, here's the thing-- somebody's life may depend on whether or not we grab DiMera fast, so... will you try?
Reznik: Well, if I can get clearance from the agency, I'll make the call. See what I can do. But I'm tell you right now, it'd be a long shot. These guys are super cautious. Him, most of all.
Rafe: Yeah. I get it. Um, well, we'll take anything we can get. Phone call we can trace, a passing drop on a bridge. Anything. But a meeting would be best. Promise him anything. A multi-million dollar shipment... whatever.
Rafe: Okay. Thank you. I truly appreciate it.
Reznik: I'm on it. But I wouldn't get my hopes up. These guys are like smoke. One minute you see them, next minute, they're gone. Even if this guy is Stefano DiMera, more than likely he's in the wind by now.
Paul: It's hard to decide with all these strange names.
Marlena: [Chuckles] The English translation is italicized. It's on the-- don't move.
Marlena: Your right shoulder. Hat, coat.
Paul: I thought Stefano was in a wheelchair.
Marlena: Yeah, he was.
Paul: Extensive physical therapy?
Marlena: I don't know, maybe he's discovered the fountain of youth. But if that's not Stefano, he sure is a ringer. We've got to be sure.
Paul: Maybe I can use my cell phone, pretend that I'm trying to get a signal.
Marlena: Yeah, okay--maybe get a selfie. Make sure he does not see you getting it, okay?
Joey: I'm just saying, okay? We should start thinking about what comes next.
Jade: For who, you or me?
Joey: Both of us. We should both get back into school. Full time.
Jade: I can't--I can't afford college.
Joey: I'm gonna help you. And I'm sure my parents will too. And my mom said you could keep staying with us.
Jade: Why? She was just saying that because... you know, we thought we were gonna be a family.
Joey: Listen. My mom and dad are still gonna be there for both of us.
Jade: No. No. They'll eventually push me out. Because they know I'm no good for you.
Joey: That's not true.
Jade: Joey, we need a clean break. Okay? I have to figure out what I'm gonna do.
Joey: Wouldn't it be better to figure that out with a friend?
Jade: I have to go home and pack my stuff. I'll be out soon, okay?
Joey: Hey, hey, wait. Where are you gonna live?
Jade: I'll figure it out. I'll figure it out, I always do. Okay.
Joey: Yeah, that could work.
Kayla: Don't worry, I'll, uh, I'll make sure that Joe's handling things here. And jade too. But you need to promise me that you're gonna play it safe there.
Steve: I always do, baby.
Kayla: No, you don't. And please don't forget that Stefano faked his own death and he went to a lot of trouble to disappear. Going after him could be very dangerous.
Steve: Well, let me put it this way, sweetness. Since I know you can't live without me, I'm not about to get into anything too dangerous over here. As soon as we find Stefano, get hope out of prison, I'll be right back home safe with you.
Hattie: Hey, hope. Hope, I'm sorry. I'm real sorry.
Hope: About what?
Hattie: Look, you know, we've been putting your name out there, trying to recruit, and a lot of the girls have signed on to help you, but...
Annabelle: But there's a great big target on your back.
Hope: Yeah, I already knew that.
Hattie: [Sighs] We're not talkin' about coco and Sheila making threats. Coco and Sheila know we've been recruiting. And now they're sayin' that you're going down.
Annabelle: They said they're gonna do to you what they did to Chille.
Hattie: We got to fight with everything we got now.
Hope: No. I told you, no violence.
Hattie: [Groans] Do you understand the word "dead"?
Paul: Stay down.
Marlena: No, no, I'm fine. Come on. Look. Follow him--don't let him out of your sight. I'll see if I can find the shooter.
Hattie: Sit down here. What world are you living in? We got to get you back in that infirmary.
Hope: No. I am not running.
Annabelle: If you're not going to run, you've got to let us fight for you.
Hope: No. If coco and Sheila want violence, that's their call. I'm not making that choice. Excuse me.
Hattie: [Sighs] Man. I can't let that girl die.
Annabelle: What can we do?
Hattie: I got an idea. Come with me.
Steve: Hey. Did you get anything?
Rafe: Well, Agent Reznik seems to think that it very well could've been Stefano at the meeting. She's trying to get a sit-down with us, but it did not sound very promising.
Steve: Well, you know these agents. They can be negative. You know, they, uh, downplay everything. Then, all of a sudden, it happens.
Rafe: Yeah, well, I hope you're right, because time's running out. Hope's in a bad place and it could get much worse really quickly, so... you know, Prague is a big place. Stefano could be anywhere.
Steve: Listen, we're gonna get him. He can't stay in hiding for very long. He siphoned off all the DiMera money he could get his hands on. If he surfaced once to get cash, he's gonna need to do it again.
Rafe: Maybe. If he thinks it's safe.
André: How could you be so cold? I came back to help you at tremendous risk. Because I loved you. And because I thought... you loved me. But you let me go to prison for your murder, and you let me grieve for you, and so did Chad. Why, so you can... play your game. Well... I'm finished playing by your rules, father.
Marlena: There you are! What in the world-- Anna. What the hell do you think you're doing?
