Episode #12971 ~ Gabi & Chad share a close moment, which Jennifer witnesses; Victor & Maggie worry about Brady in the wake of Theresa's departure; Marlena tries to get through to Brady; Eduardo & Kate spend Thanksgiving together.
Provided By SuzanneVictor: Only reason we have that damn cranberry concoction is because Sonny likes it, and he doesn't even show up.
Maggie: His mother is facing a major life decision. And depending on said decision, his parents might reconcile, so he decided to stay with them instead of his grumpy great-uncle. The lout.
Victor: Choosing between Justin and Lucas is not an earth-changing decision. It a no-brainer. It's like trying to choose between Beirut and the Bahamas for a fun weekend.
Maggie: Victor just loves Thanksgiving. It always brings out the best in him.
Philip: It's easier to be mad at Sonny than scared about Brady.
Victor: Oh, don't try and analyze me.
Maggie: Even if he's right? I'm worried too.
Victor: He should be with his family. He's grieving. Not with a bunch of strangers.
Brady: So, did you save any turkey for us?
Maggie: Oh, Brady! I'm so happy you're here! Here. Hi!
Deimos: It's good to see you, Brady, and yes, there is still turkey.
Philip: You okay?
Brady: Fine. Yeah. Fine. Why wouldn't I be?
Eduardo: You're here.
Kate: Where else would I be?
Eduardo: Well, you might be having Thanksgiving dinner with your friends and family.
Kate: Actually, I hate Thanksgiving. I think it's totally hypocritical to fake gratitude.
Eduardo: Well, why would you fake it? You have so much to be thankful for. You're healthy. You're rich. On your worst day, you're drop-dead fine to look at--
Kate: Is that wine? Because I would be really grateful for that.
Eduardo: Yeah, this is wine. This is a 1982 cab, and it's for you, yeah. But don't be thanking me, 'cause I wouldn't want to spoil your day.
Kate: Well, I will thank you, and you just made my day considerably better.
Gabi: God knows I understand you're worried about Thomas. Not a day goes by that I don't think about Arianna growing up without her father.
Chad: So it doesn't get any better?
Gabi: I didn't say that. But it is a fact of our lives that we have kids who have lost a parent at a very early age. And part of our job is to make sure that parent, you know, stays alive inside of our kids' hearts.
Chad: Yeah, that's our job, or part of it, anyway, I guess.
Gabi: And you're doing a really good job, Chad.
Chad: Thank you. And I thank God that Thomas and I have you.
JJ: What the--
JJ: It's you. It's really you. How?
JJ: You're alive. You're alive.
Brady: By the way, you don't have to-- [Whispering] Lower your voice to ask me how I'm doing. [Normally] It's fine. Everybody should be in on it. I mean, you were talking about me before I came in the room, right?
Deimos: Yeah, we were, because we're worried about you and we love you. What jerks, huh?
Maggie: Deimos, no. We are worried, because we know what you're going through.
Brady: And you're worried that I'm gonna fall off the wagon. Just like Theresa. Well, unlike Theresa, I remember that I still have a son to take care of, so we're all good in that department. You are ready for a nap, so excuse me.
Victor: No right to talk to you like that.
Maggie: You think I care how he talks to me? And you have a lot of nerve criticizing him. Do you hear how you talk to people sometimes?
Philip: Does it ever cross your mind to just act sad if you're sad? That way, we wouldn't have to analyze you, decipher you.
Victor: I don't need this.
Philip: I'm sad. I know how much Brady loved Theresa and how much this is tearing him up. But now he's acting like nothing's wrong, and he's cranky and blustering and rude. Who would ever act like that?
Maggie: Philip, can I tell you how happy I am that you're here today?
Philip: We'll get him through this, as a family.
Maggie: Well, now that we are finally talking honestly, you said before that Brady was grieving. He's not. That's what scares me, is because he isn't. He's in complete denial, and that is the worst place for an addict to be.
Deimos: Maybe someone should talk to him.
Philip: I think the problem is that he doesn't want to talk about it.
Maggie: Well, that never stopped me before.
Brady: Yeah. She's gone. There's not gonna be anything left to remind you of her or me. You know why? 'Cause she's chosen not to be here, so you're not gonna think about her. You're not gonna be reminded of her, and that's okay. It's gonna be like she never even existed. We don't need her. You know why we don't need her? You know why? 'Cause you have me. That's right. And I'm never gonna lose you. And you're never gonna lose me. Yeah.
JJ: Who did this? How'd you get away? Oh, my God, mom and Chad are downstairs!
Abigail: JJ, wait.
JJ: Why would I wait? Abigail, they think you're dead. Your mother thinks you're dead, and Chad and Thomas...
Abigail: No, she doesn't.
JJ: They're downstairs. Your son is down there!
Abigail: JJ, please, okay. JJ, no one can know. JJ, everyone thinks I'm dead. Please. I'm-- I am begging you. You can't tell anyone.
JJ: Okay. I can see that you're scared, but there is nothing to be scared about 'cause Ben's gone. Everything is fine.
Abigail: I know, but--
JJ: I'm going to go get Chad and mom. Abs, it's all going to be fine.
Abigail: No. JJ! What are you doing?
Gabi: Hey, Jennifer. Did you get everything cleaned up in the kitchen?
Jennifer: Yeah, we're good. Where's JJ?
Gabi: Oh, he's really sweet. He went to go find some toys for Arianna.
Jennifer: He went shopping?
Chad: No. He went up to the attic.
JJ: Mom! Chad!
Jennifer: No! No! No. No. Not a word. Not one.
Eduardo: So, how was the wedding?
Kate: Oh, it was a typical Salem wedding. You know, lots of small talk, marginal music, and then the bride starts down the aisle and something horrible happens. They never get to the "I do's."
Eduardo: What happened this time?
Kate: This time-- actually, it was kind of lame this time. No pornographic tapes. No semiautomatic weapons. Just one really miserable ex-husband who came running in and asked for a second chance.
Eduardo: I'm gonna have to get myself invited to one of these weddings. They sound fun.
Kate: [Laughs] Isn't that something? Your son actually arrested a groom and dragged him off to jail, but-- wait, no, that was at a reception. They were already married, so.
Eduardo: So, when the ex said, "give me a second chance," she actually ran away with him and left Lucas at the altar?
Kate: Yeah, I wish. But this is Adrienne we're talking about. Adrienne "I'm gonna stick with this forever as long as I'm the center of attention." I have every faith that Lucas is gonna dodge that bleach-blonde bullet.
Eduardo: So how'd you do it? Did you hypnotize the ex? Bribe him? What?
Kate: I told you I'm not interfering anymore. Although I did make some money off it.
Eduardo: Are you telling me that you bet against your own son's happiness?
Kate: No. No. I've just been around long enough to know when a couple's gonna make it or not, and Adrienne and Lucas, they didn't have a chance.
Eduardo: What do you think our chances are?
Maggie: What's that?
Maggie: Is Tate asleep?
Brady: Yes, he's out like a light.
Maggie: I think we should go to a meeting.
Brady: Maggie. Not a surprise. You always want to go to a meeting.
Maggie: You have a lot to deal with.
Brady: I do, I do, including raising my son. And I know that he needs at least one sober parent to do that. I'm aware of that.
Victor: Why do you talk to her like that? She's only trying to help.
Brady: I don't need help. That's not what I need. Actually, there is something. There is something you could do for me.
Maggie: Anything. Anything.
Brady: Thank you. Get rid of this crap for me, will you? Is it really so hard for everyone to understand that I don't want to talk about Theresa? Hmm? How's belle doing? How is belle?
Philip: Point taken.
Maggie: Brady, we saved some turkey. I could fix you a sandwich or heat up the gravy--
Brady: No, Maggie, thank you. I'm not hungry right now, but I do want to talk to you gentlemen about a certain email that I found. I have some questions about the GDI account.
Philip: That's been handled.
Brady: Has it? Without talking to me?
Philip: That email is two days old.
Brady: Oh, my bad. I was a little distracted lately.
Deimos: Yeah, and for good reason. So look, why don't we talk about this tomorrow at the office?
Brady: Don't. Don't. Don't patronize me. Don't do that. Okay? I just want to know why the hell we ceded the intellectual property rights when those patents hadn't even been granted yet. That was a mistake.
Victor: Brady, we're not talking business now. Deimos is right--
Brady: I'm sorry, is the man who's retired, is he talking to me right now? You have nothing to say about this.
Brady: I want to know why the action was taken on that account, and I want to know why the two of you went ahead without me.
Jennifer: You need to listen to what I have to say.
JJ: Mom, you don't understand.
Jennifer: No, you don't understand, and you need to keep your voice down right now.
JJ: Mom. I saw Abigail.
Jennifer: I know you did. In god's name, why did you go in the attic?
JJ: You knew? You knew and you didn't tell me?
Jennifer: I told you to keep your voice down.
JJ: Why, so Chad doesn't hear? So he doesn't hear that his wife isn't dead? That his son's mother isn't dead? I have to tell him.
Jennifer: No. No! I am not gonna let you. I won't let you. My belly pain and constipation?
Brady: You know, if I don't get some answers soon, I'm gonna start thinking that you guys intentionally went behind my back on this one. That email pretty much closed the deal, didn't it?
Philip: Okay. I think it's clear Brady feels we need to go over that email, and I'm the one who wrote it, so how about giving us a little time alone?
Brady: That's sweet. You're gonna take one for the team now.
Philip: I'm just trying to do what you said you wanted, jerk.
Chad: So that's weird, right?
Gabi: Yeah. Yeah, JJ was acting kind of strange.
Chad: Yeah, so did Jenn.
Gabi: I mean, it's the first Thanksgiving without Abigail. They're both pretty shaky, so.
Chad: I'm glad you're working things out with JJ. Yeah, you didn't have to forgive him.
Gabi: Well, people didn't have to forgive me for the things I've done. And being around Julie definitely makes me grateful for the people I have.
Chad: Should I go maybe check things out?
Gabi: Well, it looked like they needed to talk. In private.
JJ: Why are you acting like this?
Jennifer: Shh. JJ.
JJ: What the hell is going on, mom?
Jennifer: So what's going on is that your sister is holding on by a thread. Yeah, she's back, JJ, but we could lose her again in a second. She's this far. JJ, she is this far.
JJ: It's okay.
Jennifer: Okay? She is terrified of the real world, and she could just disappear again. She could completely disassociate. I can't lose her again. I cannot. I can't do this again, JJ.
JJ: It's okay.
JJ: It's okay. Mom, it's good, I know, okay? I can help. I know. You got to get it together. We have to go back in there. We have to take care of Abigail. Okay?
Chad: Is something wrong?
JJ: No, everything's fine.
Gabi: Are you sure you're okay? Is there anything we can help you with?
Jennifer: No. No, I just-- I completely overreacted. There was a rat in the attic, and I'm so afraid of rats, so.
Gabi: Is JJ afraid of rats too? Because you looked a little strange when you were coming down the stairs.
Chad: Yeah, look, I ain't afraid of no stinkin' rats. I got it. Let's do this.
JJ: No, she's worried about the kids. Why don't you take them down to the festival? I'll catch up with you guys, you know, when I've-- when I've taken care of it.
Chad: Well, how about-- how about you and Gabi take the kids to the festival and you and I will go-- we'll take care of this?
JJ: It's been a rough day. We need some time alone.
Chad: Yeah, of course. Gabi, why don't we go get the kids, and we'll take off?
Jennifer: I'm gonna go upstairs and tell Abigail that everything's gonna be okay.
JJ: Not yet. We need to talk.
Kate: "What are our chances?" Hmm. I think it's kind of like election night. You know, it's-- it's too early to call.
Eduardo: Yeah. Well, I know you have issues with us being business rivals.
Kate: I thought that we put that behind us.
Eduardo: Well, I would...
[Cell phone ringing]
Eduardo: Certainly hope so. Excuse me. I got to take this. It's business.
Deimos: Yeah, I just wanted you to know that your first shipment came through. Not any problems from customs.
Eduardo: Excellent. Hopefully this is the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership.
Deimos: Well, if things keep going this smoothly, I don't see why not.
Eduardo: Thanks for letting me know. Hope you're having a pleasant Thanksgiving, my man.
Deimos: Let me tell you. There was one good thing about prison. No family holidays.
Kate: Good news?
Eduardo: Yeah. Yeah, I was gonna tell you about this anyway, but I've aligned my company with titan.
Kate: So you're in bed with the Kiriakises. That's not the bed I had pictured you in.
Deimos: Brady's wound pretty tight.
Victor: I decided to retire to a neutral corner. Everything I say seems to push his buttons.
Deimos: Yeah, you and everyone else. Let's hope Philip can calm him down.
Victor: You know, before Nicole left, she asked me to look after him. And I want to do that more than anything, but I always just seem to make things worse. He's like a powder keg. You push the wrong button-- he could just blow up.
Brady: So you did just go behind my back.
Philip: I thought it was the right thing to do. Deimos thought it was the right thing to do. It would've been a two-to-one decision no matter what.
Brady: Two to one. Yeah, I can see where this triumvirate thing is going.
Philip: Damn it, Brady, you had other things on your mind.
Brady: You should've asked for my input, Philip, and you know it.
Philip: We don't know how long that wait would've been. We had to move. And it's not like your track record with titan has ever been that great.
Brady: You stupid son of a bitch.
Philip: Oh, I'm sorry.
Philip: Instead of taking care of the company, Deimos and I should've dragged you off to a sweat lodge or to one of your meetings for a group hug or something.
Brady: Shove it, Philip.
Philip: Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt your feelings?
Brady: Hey, hey, hey.
Philip: Oh, I forgot. We're all supposed to treat you with kid gloves. Put up with your crap mood. Put up with you treating Maggie like crap. Because she had the audacity to worry about you.
Brady: Shut your mouth! You don't talk to me about Maggie.
Philip: What can I talk to you about? Huh?
Brady: You don't get to talk about Maggie!
Philip: You don't want us to even say Theresa's name.
Brady: No, I don't want you to say her name 'cause it's personal, Philip.
Philip: Not when it starts screwing with the company.
Brady: It's not screwing with the company!
Philip: It is!
Brady: It has nothing to do with the company.
Philip: You are taking what she did you and Tate out on us. And you don't even care that we're on your side. We're here. We are not the ones who walked out on you.
Brady: Who are-- I don't even know who you-- no, better yet, who do you think you are? Who the hell do you think you are?
Philip: A guy who's willing to say the truth.
Brady: Then say it!
Philip: You and Tate are way better off since that drug-addicted mess walked out on you.
Brady: That's the truth?
Philip: [Grunts] [Yells] [Grunts]
Maggie: Brady! How could you?
Deimos: What the hell is wrong with you?
Philip: What's wrong with me? He's the one who punched me.
Deimos: You were supposed to be calming him down.
Philip: Well, that's not gonna happen. He's nuts. He needs a big, long time-out before he has anything to do with titan.
Brady: Oh, you'd love that, wouldn't you? You'd love that. So you can slide right in and take my place, right?
Philip: Okay, that's paranoid.
Victor: Damn it, I think I'm gonna tie you both down till you behave.
Brady: You're retired! Butt out. You're retired.
Deimos: Wait a minute! I'm not, all right? I'm the one in charge of titan, and Victor is right. You two need to get it under control. Now, you're gonna work together whether you like it or not.
Brady: Like hell I will.
Chad: [Clears throat] So you're, um, still thinking about JJ?
Gabi: You know, it's not-- it's not just JJ, Chad. The look on Jennifer's face when I said that he was up there in the attic, and then she practically just ran out of the room?
Chad: Yeah, you're right.
Gabi: And, of course, yeah, the look on JJ's face. I don't know, I think that there's something going on. Something that they really don't want us to know about.
Jennifer: I just need to get to her.
JJ: First, you need to tell me why you didn't tell me.
Jennifer: I couldn't tell you.
JJ: I thought she was dead!
Jennifer: I know that. But I need to get to her. You don't know what she's like right now.
JJ: Well, I wouldn't, would I? I was so whacked-out, I almost lost Gabi.
Jennifer: I know that. It killed me not to tell you. But she was afraid for anyone to know.
JJ: I'm not anyone. I'm her brother.
Jennifer: You're right. And she could be running away right now, which is why I need to talk to her.
JJ: No, I do.
Victor: Knew I shouldn't have left those two alone.
Maggie: Well, thank God you called Marlena. Maybe she can get through to him.
Victor: Yeah, well, looks like we're about to have yet another Thanksgiving Kiriakis fistfight.
Philip: Brady is clearly off the rails. He punches me and it's my fault?
Deimos: Yeah. It's your fault. You were supposed to make things better, not worse.
Philip: That is not why you come down on me any chance you get. This is because I helped Chloe out.
Deimos: Oh, really? You want to go there? Okay, fine. But why don't we be a bit more specific, shall we? You didn't just help Chloe out. You helped Chloe lie. You thought that she was carrying my child, and you believed that I had no right to know it. But you know something, Philip? At the end of the day, I let it go, which is why you're still working at the company. And that's exactly what you're gonna do with Brady. You're gonna let go of your petty juvenile jealousy, you got that? Philip, don't make me ask you again.
Deimos: Great. I knew you'd see it my way. Oh, look at the time. I have to call Nicole.
Philip: No wonder you freaked out the day we got the results that showed Deimos wasn't the father.
Chloe: Yeah, I finally realized that the only possible explanation was that this baby was Nicole and Daniel's.
Deimos: Yeah, I miss you too. You know, I can't believe that we missed out on our first Thanksgiving together. How was my Thanksgiving? Look, why don't I fill you in on that when you get back, all right? Until then, au revoir, mon petit chou. Tout à l'heure. Bye.
Maggie: Sounds like things are going well for you and Nicole.
Deimos: Yeah, thanks to you.
Deimos: Yeah. You're the one that made me see things differently. Encouraged me to give her another chance, and I'm glad I did. So, big brother, is this how it is every Thanksgiving?
Victor: Oh, no. Sometimes, we don't get along.
Deimos: Great. You know, all those years in prison, I never imagined that holiday celebrations would be like this.
Victor: Yes, well, you said you wanted a family. Careful what you ask for.
Philip: You and Tate are way better off since that drug-addicted mess walked out on you.
Brady: That's the truth?
Philip: [Grunts] [Yells]
Brady: [Sighs] How'd you find me?
Marlena: Victor was concerned. He had you followed.
Brady: Surprised Dad isn't with you.
Marlena: He's out of town. He's equally concerned.
Brady: Well, I came here for some peace and quiet, Marlena.
Marlena: All righty, then. I won't talk. I'll listen.
Brady: How does this keep happening to me? Why do I keep making the same mistake over and over again? Really thought Theresa was different. Really did. And she was in trouble. She was in such trouble, and I didn't see it.
Marlena: This is not your fault.
Brady: No, I let her down. I let her down. I just couldn't-- I wasn't there for her. I couldn't see the signs. I should've seen the signs, of all people, right?
Marlena: She didn't let you see it. She kept that from you.
Brady: We were married. I mean, we took vows. In our hearts, in our minds, we were married-- I mean, I was the one that thought we-- in my mind, in my heart, anyway. We were gonna have a big wedding in this church. Now I know she didn't mean it. She didn't want it. I wanted it. I wanted. She didn't want it. I wanted the family. I wanted the wedding. It was all about me, and if I would've taken a step back and maybe thought about what she wanted for a second, she might've been-- she might still be here. She's gone now. And she's not coming back.
Philip: I'm a jerk.
Maggie: Recognizing the problem is the first step towards solving it.
Philip: I'm really sorry I screwed up your Thanksgiving.
Maggie: When I married into the Kiriakis family, I knew that I was saying good-bye to the Horton-style holidays. We serve eggnog. You serve arsenic. I know you were just trying to help Brady, to get through to him. And I know you're just as worried about him as everyone else.
Philip: You shatter every known stereotype of stepmothers.
Maggie: I also know you're worried about something. A lot. Anything you tell me goes no further.
Philip: It's really creepy how you can see inside people.
Maggie: Talk to me.
Philip: I feel guilty. I hate feeling guilty.
Maggie: Guilty about what?
Philip: Chloe asked me to do something for her.
Maggie: Pretend to be the baby's father.
Philip: Yeah. Maggie, I think she's playing with fire. I think this whole thing could end up hurting her, that baby, and a lot of other people.
Maggie: Secrets and lies. Lies and secrets.
Philip: Yeah. But this isn't my secret to tell.
Eduardo: You know, I just wanted to be straight about it. I've decided to use titan for shipping my merchandise into Salem.
Kate: Okay. But you never thought of giving DiMera enterprises a chance to counteroffer?
Eduardo: Well, you know, it happened so quickly, and, frankly, the titan deal was too good to pass up.
Kate: Well, I guess we're adversaries.
Eduardo: I guess we are.
Kate: But on the other hand, I've made a firm rule never to mix business and pleasure.
Eduardo: That's a really good idea. Of course, that does mean that there will be things that I won't be able to tell you.
Kate: Same here. But, luckily, I've never been one for pillow talk.
Eduardo: I wonder where all this talk about beds and pillows is leading.
Kate: I wonder.
JJ: Abigail? Abigail.
Eduardo: So what do you think? Thing to death?
Kate: What thing?
Eduardo: This thing. You know.
Kate: I thought you liked my banter.
Eduardo: I do. I like everything about you. I really do.
Brady: I wish I could hate her. Wish that I could hate her, but I can't hate her, 'cause I still love her. How'd she do that? How did she get up and leave? How did she leave her son? She just walked away from her boy. It doesn't make any sense to me. And I know there was something she wasn't telling me.
Marlena: Do you want your father to try and find her?
Brady: No. No, she's gone. And I have to accept it. I have to accept it.
Maggie: No. You can't break your promise to Chloe. But you could tell her what you told me. You love her, don't you?
Philip: Guess there's always something about your first love. I'd do anything for her.
Maggie: I know.
Philip: I just hope she'll let me help her.
Nicole: I'm gonna drip all over your beautiful carpet. I'm sorry.
Deimos: Oh, I don't give a damn about that. Did you call a tow truck?
Nicole: Yeah, I tried, but my phone died.
Deimos: Look at you. You even carry off the drowned rat look.
Nicole: I'm sure.
Deimos: My brother felt the need to brand me. He likes to express himself in blood, as I'm sure you remember.
Nicole: Yeah, I do. And it never made him right.
Deimos: Have I told you how much I love you?
Nicole: God, Deimos, you make me so happy.
Chad: So, what do you think is going on?
Gabi: I don't know. I don't know, but let me tell you, JJ does not react like that over a rat.
Chad: Maybe he's nervous. He knows how lucky he is that you gave him another chance. Forgave him.
Gabi: Chad, I wanted to tell you about-- I mean, last night, when--
Chad: I kissed you?
Gabi: We both know that it was mutual, but-- yeah, but now that I'm back with JJ, I was just kind of scared that it was gonna be awkward, but it's not, right?
Chad: Not on my end.
Gabi: Good. 'Cause I don't want to lose you as a friend. Thank you for understanding. I love JJ a lot. We're gonna head out. We will see you soon.
Abigail: I had to know that you were alone.
JJ: You don't have to worry. Mom explained things. I won't tell anyone you're here.
Abigail: Thank you.
JJ: I just don't get it. Why can't you tell Chad? He still loves you so much. He would be over the moon to find out that you're all right.
Abigail: No. He would not be over the moon, JJ.
JJ: You're wrong about that.
Abigail: No, I'm not. I'm not wrong. Okay? 'Cause he's moved on. With Gabi. there.
