Chad: Hey, look, they don't have anything to do with this.
André: On the contrary, they're here to take care of the child. And my brother Chad, no, he's far too busy here, much too important to care of the child himself. They're staff, and he and Kate are running my business, our family business, into the ground.
Clyde: Hey, can it, André. Just tell me, do they know where the baby is?
Chad: No, don't--
Clyde: I have to! All right, all right. Let's just hear it from the horse's mouth. Where's the baby? Answer me, damn it! Where's the baby?
Clyde: If I don't find him, you don't go on living.
Adrienne: I'd rather die than give you two seconds with that baby.
Lucas: Just stay calm, okay? Let's just slow this conversation down.
Clyde: Let me say it this way. Would you rather me shoot you with him watching, or vice versa? Or do you want to tell me what I need to know?
Lucas: It doesn't need to be that way, right?
Adrienne: Shoot us both. We're not gonna tell you anything.
Lucas: Adrienne, enough! Please...
Clyde: [Chuckles] Well, the fact that you two are still here is proof that the baby is too. Now, this is a big house, but it's not that big, so I will find him eventually. So why don't I let the lady decide who goes first?
Hope: Is that John?
Rafe: Yeah, another B&E. As soon as the sun goes down...
Hope: Yeah, well, Roman's briefing another team to put in the market district.
Rafe: Is that right? The reinforcements from Brookville?
Hope: Yeah, we've got them until the convicts are back in prison.
Rafe: Good, I want more arrests.
Hope: Don't we all?
Rafe: Yeah, if we have more arrests, then the DA is gonna be busy, and that means he's not gonna be able to harass you.
Hope: Rafe, please, we can't discuss this--
Rafe: When can we discuss this, hope?
Hope: We don't.
Rafe: No, we do.
Rafe: I am your partner. I'm not letting this happen. Jennings is going down.
Hope: When did john say he'd call again?
Rafe: When everything's set in motion.
Hope: Well, I hope this plan works.
Rafe: Think it won't?
Hope: I don't know. It's gutsy. There are about ten different ways it could go wrong.
Clyde: What the hell?
André: He was coming up from behind.
Clyde: You said he was mine.
André: Well, you can take the credit.
Clyde: He's dead, man. Son of a bitch is dead.
Clyde: Shut her up.
Clyde: Hey, shut her up!
Lucas: It's gonna be all right.
Clyde: Hey, shut up and listen.
[Baby crying faintly]
Clyde: Yes. You keep him covered.
Clyde: I'm gonna get my grandson.
Adrienne: No! No! [Wailing] Oh, God! [Sobbing]
Orpheus: You took your time.
Lazlo: Those things are hard to find anytime, let alone when the town's on lockdown. Took a lot of risks getting you that stuff.
Orpheus: Bill me.
Lazlo: Count on it.
Orpheus: Meet me back here in one hour.
Lazlo: For payment?
Orpheus: Further instructions. Relax, Lazlo. I know better than to stiff you.
Lazlo: Who are your partners in crime?
Orpheus: Xander and Clyde have their own plans. I have mine. It's gonna rain fire on Salem.
Marlena: Maybe if we both look at it, it will start to ring.
John: I just want to know what's going on out there.
Marlena: We'll know soon enough.
John: Soon enough to make sure this whole thing works out? This is just the first step.
Marlena: Every step of this is standalone, and everybody knows what they have to do.
John: I know, I know. It all hinges on Orpheus and Xander and Weston not getting wind of what's happening with the other.
Marlena: We've done what we can. Everybody's on board.
John: Yeah, but is that enough, doc?
Marlena: Well, it's going to have to be. It just has to be.
Adrienne: [Sobbing] Oh, my God!
Lucas: You freak show! What have you done?
Lucas: Chad, Chad...
Lucas: It's gonna be all right, Chad. It's gonna be all right.
Adrienne: Hold on, hold on!
Lucas: Oh, Chad, hang on. Hang on, Chad. It's gonna be all right.
Clyde: Hey, fella. Let's get you home to your real daddy.
Clyde: No. Damn it.
Kayla: Uh... [Laughs] Some of your favorites.
Kayla: Well, that's all there was in the fridge. I think my mom and the volunteers cleaned the whole thing out.
Steve: Well, I'll tell Caroline thanks, then.
Kayla: Why aren't you eating?
Steve: Eh, I'm not really hungry.
Kayla: Well, you should eat. You don't know how long this operation's gonna take, and you're gonna need your strength.
Steve: Don't you worry. I'll have it. Besides, we're not alone in this.
Kayla: Yeah. As horrible as these last few days have been, just working with john and Marlena again, I just...I feel like we're a team again, you know?
Steve: We are.
Steve: What's bothering you, sweetness?
Kayla: It's just that there's so much danger and chaos all around us, and...
Steve: I know. But that's not all, is it?
Kayla: Just before, when we were up against Orpheus and he was holding me on that boat, I was scared, but I always knew that you would come for me. I didn't doubt it for one second.
Steve: And you were right, weren't you?
Kayla: [Laughs] But we got lucky. And now that I'm older, I just-- I know that anything can happen, and I'm just scared in a different way now. I just--
Steve: Listen. My armor may not be as shiny, and I may be a little worse for wear. But I will get the job done.
Adrienne: Untie me. This is not okay. Come on!
André: Your blood pressure must be spiking. Relax, will you?
Lucas: Don't tell her to relax, okay?
Adrienne: I didn't expect blood.
André: Well, it had to look convincing.
Lucas: You will always be convincing as a psycho killer. Thank you.
Chad: [Exhales] Did it work?
Adrienne: Yeah. Are you okay?
Chad: [Groaning] No. Oh, I think I hit my head on the way down.
Adrienne: Let me see.
Chad: I blacked out.
André: Ah, it was pure stanislovsky.
Chad: No, it was pure accident.
André: Well, a lucky one for you, because when I saw Clyde's face, he looked like he was about to shoot everyone.
Adrienne: No, you really hit your head.
Chad: Clyde should be right where we want him.
John: Sweetheart, I wasn't doubting you. Now, this plan that you came up with--
Marlena: Wait, wait, wait. It wasn't just my plan, okay?
John: We couldn't have gotten this far without the psych profile on these clowns.
Marlena: Clowns? I wish they were funny.
John: All right, fine, I'll call them psychos. Can I use that very technical term here?
Marlena: Yes, you may.
John: All right. So, listen, if you hadn't figured what made them tick, we wouldn't be able to go after them. And we are, and we're gonna catch them, thanks to you.
Marlena: I wish you wouldn't say that.
John: What is the problem here?
Marlena: Profiling is not an exact science. I did what I could with what I had, but it's not like a fingerprint, you know? I mean, people react differently under stress.
John: Yeah, we know that.
Marlena: And with people that are as irrational and dangerous as those three, it just could go in all directions.
John: We know that too. Steve and I aren't taking anything for granted.
Marlena: I just feel responsible.
John: Hey, you gave us a great tool. We know that's all it is. It's a tool. Now, look, if something happens and things go sideways... Steve and I are good. We can think on our feet. And we're gonna get these guys, and if we don't...
Marlena: Then you might just die.
John: Coming home to you tonight. That's a fact.
Chad: Whew. Hey, did you get him?
JJ: Clyde's locked in the panic room. Are you okay?
Adrienne: He hit his head. He should be checked for a concussion.
Chad: I'm fine.
JJ: We'll get it checked. Backup's on the way. Okay, you guys need to stay here, you got it?
Lucas: Good job, man, thanks.
Adrienne: Thank you.
Chad: Thank you.
JJ: Of course.
André: What? Did your mommy not teach you that it's not polite to stare?
Lucas: It's just too strange, you helping out like this.
Chad: Yeah, you were pretty convincing, I think maybe a little bit too convincing. You enjoyed shooting me, I think, just a little bit too much.
André: Really? Well, I felt I needed to do my job. If I nudged and winked at you and gave the game away... no, no, no.
Lucas: I'll call john and tell him that Clyde's in custody.
Chad: [Exhales] [Laughs]
Rafe: I'm gonna help roman prep for the next shift.
Hope: Is john calling the desk or your cell?
Rafe: Supposed to call my cell, but--
Hope: Tell you what, I'll have your desk transferred to mine just in case, okay?
Hope: Okay, bye.
Aiden: Open it.
Hope: I'm busy right now. This is a state of emergency.
Aiden: If you've been working hard, you deserve a break. Why don't you use the five minutes you never took to answer my text? Go on, open it. It's a dress. I wanted you to have something special for our night together.
Clyde: At least that little whelp is dead.
JJ: Not exactly.
Clyde: [Chuckles] I see. Well played.
Chad: It wasn't hard. You wanted my son.
André: And you couldn't tell the difference between a baby and a recording. But in fairness, no one could at that distance.
Clyde: I should have known. I should have made you get the baby yourself.
Chad: That wouldn't have worked.
Clyde: You best watch your back, son.
Chad: I'm not worried. You're gonna be gone for a long time, Clyde.
Clyde: He's gonna get you one way or another, especially now that he can play the hero. He's gonna sell you out.
JJ: Police car's on its way.
Chad: You got under his skin.
André: Well, it was all part of the plan.
Chad: Thank you.
André: We're partners.
John: John Black. Lucas? Casualties? Ah, great job, kid. That's a great job. You guys did good. Pass it on. Thanks for the heads up. My God, it worked. Weston went for it hook, line, and sinker. He's in custody.
Marlena: Okay. Well, that's one down.
John: That's a big on, doc.
Marlena: Yeah. And thank God the DiMeras are always at each other's throats. So that made what happen with André believable.
John: No, but you knew that Weston would do anything to get to that baby. That was the key. That's why this whole damn thing's gonna work, doc.
Marlena: Yeah, well, that's-- that's one down.
John: One down. One at a time. That's part of the plan here. You know, on paper, Weston was the hard one, not Xander. And we got him.
Marlena: You know, I don't know a lot about Xander. I didn't have a chance to evaluate him.
John: That's all right. It's working, doc. We're gonna get them.
Marlena: You know that Orpheus is the most dangerous one. You know, he knows a lot, because you and he and Steve all had the same training. And his anger has had time to fester, and he blames you for being away from his family for so long.
John: I know that, but you want to know something? Bad as Orpheus thinks he is, he can't do all this damage on his own. Now that we have Weston, we've cut his backup, so that means it's Orpheus and Xander against Steve and me, and I will take those odds any day.
Marlena: You know what I wish? I wish it was you and Steve and an army of people behind you.
John: Hey, hey, hey.
Marlena: I know, I know.
John: All right, listen, I need to get ahold of Rafe here, 'cause I want to get my hands on Clyde Weston's phone, and then I'm going after Orpheus.
Hope: I really do have work.
Aiden: Did you even read my texts?
Hope: Of course I did.
Aiden: Then why didn't you answer? And if you say "work" one more time...
Hope: What? What are you gonna do?
Aiden: Okay, take it easy. Okay, I know this is about Rafe. And you still have him on the hook.
Hope: I broke it off.
Aiden: Well, he's not buying it.
Hope: And I told you that he wouldn't. He will not believe it no matter what I say.
Aiden: Well, you better try again.
Hope: Aiden, this is not gonna happen.
Hope: I'm not gonna fall in love with you. You can't make that happen.
Aiden: Hope, it will happen. All I'm asking is give it a chance. Stop fighting it. Do I need to remind you that we had something special once?
Hope: We're never gonna trust each other. You know that. Do you really want to be with someone who's pretending--
Aiden: See, this is what I'm talking about. Will you just let it happen? Stop fighting it, and I guarantee you will not have to pretend, okay? I'm not giving up on you. I don't want you to give up on me. But I really think you need to lose this negative attitude, because I don't want things to work out badly for you.
Hope: Neither do I.
Aiden: Good. 'Cause I really don't want to have to prosecute you for Stefano DiMera's murder. And I'm almost sorry I won't be here to see it play out.
Chad: Show's over. Look around.
JJ: I don't think so.
Chad: There's my beautiful boy.
Clyde: That should be my boy, son. You took him away from him. That there's my son. See, your son went crazy after watching years of you abusing his mother and sister.
Clyde: Don't you say anything about me and my family. You know nothing about me and my family.
Chad: Gladly. Let's go.
André: There's a loading dock by the kitchen. You can pull up the police car right up to the door.
Gabi: Hey, nicely done. I'm sorry about bursting in.
JJ: No, no, you were great. I just can't wait to book him.
JJ: Talk to you later.
Gabi: See you. Wow. That looks very real.
Chad: Yeah, it's supposed to.
Gabi: So, is it-- is it over? Is it all done?
Chad: One down, two to go. So, we'll see.
Kayla: Is that Chad?
Steve: Nope. It's Joe. He says he still wants to help out. I am gonna tell him if he doesn't text you every 15 minutes, I'm gonna send the cops out after him.
Kayla: What does he say?
Steve: He says he'll stay put at the hospital.
Kayla: Good. I thought we convinced him that he needed to stay at the hospital for Claire and Ciara and the other kids to keep them calm.
Steve: Well, you know our boy. He always likes to be in the middle of the action.
Kayla: Like his dad.
Steve: Steve Johnson.
André: Yeah, this is André. Clyde is in custody.
Steve: You've got him? You sure?
André: Yeah, he's in the police station right now.
Steve: Well, that's great. How about Adrienne? She all right?
André: Oh, Adrienne's just fine... as I am, and I'm so glad you asked. As far as my brother, a few bruised ribs, but it put on a good show.
Steve: So, Weston never suspected anything?
André: No--I played the scorned brother very well.
André: Makes perfect. [Laughing] Yes, yes. Eh, you're not the first to make that joke.
Steve: Yeah, I bet not. Well, André, you did it. You did good. Kate was right.
André: Hm. Well, I'm gonna leave now, 'cause I can imagine those last two sentences must have challenged your worldview so profoundly that you need a moment.
Steve: That's thoughtful of you.
André: Yes, well, you do your part, and make sure you rid this town of that scourge.
Kayla: So, André did it? He did--he did a good job?
Steve: They pulled it off.
Kayla: And Chad? He's okay?
Steve: Sounds like it.
Kayla: Thank God. I felt completely responsible he was a part of this, and if anything would've happened to him--
Steve: Nothing happened to him. It's all going right so far. Everything's lined up.
Kayla: So, that means that you have to go now.
Steve: They probably contacted john already. We'll have that phone soon. So...
Kayla: Listen. Just be safe, okay? You're already a hero to your son and me. We just need you to come back to us, okay?
Steve: I will, sweetness. Okay.
Aiden: Okay, look. You get a break. I want you to spend it with me, alone--
Hope: I can't--no.
Aiden: Yes, yes, in my hotel, where we will have dinner.
Hope: Aiden, I can not-- no. I can't leave the station. Not right now. It's not a good time.
Aiden: Yes, you can, and you will, because if you don't, there will be consequences. Do you understand me? I will arrest Rafe and roman. Conspiracy to commit murder, obstruction of justice, anything else I can get to stick. Do you understand me? So, stop fighting it, and stop talking all this nonsense. Hope, please.
Rafe: What's going on?
Hope: Nothing. Aiden and I were just going over a case.
Rafe: Oh, yeah?
Rafe: Where's the paperwork?
Aiden: There is none.
Rafe: Leave her alone.
Aiden: Or what?
Rafe: If you do not stop harassing her--
Hope: Hey, Clyde's here.
Clyde: Well, well, well.
Rafe: Ooh, Clyde Weston. Checking in?
Clyde: Well, you're really not my type, Hernandez.
JJ: I found this on him. You stay with him. Oversee the whole thing.
JJ: I will.
Rafe: Welcome back. Let's get you settled in. Come on.
Aiden: Wow. Well, well, that should quiet things down a bit.
Hope: Don't you need to arraign him?
Aiden: Well, I do need to sak with y but it can ai
Aiden: That's your jacket for the last few weeks. Doesn't even count the murder you were in prison for, nor the prison break. Nope--that right there is all the mischief you've been making since you've been back to Salem. You-- you want to say something?
Clyde: I feel bad I didn't get you anything, counselor.
Aiden: [Laughs] Oh, Clyde, you did. You did. You think I didn't see? You think that two eyewitnesses did not witness with their eyes? You don't think the camera caught that red dot sitting on my chest coming from the laser set upon your rifle? You wanted to kill me at that press conference. But Abe carver-- oh, he stepped in the way, took the bullet. Don't worry. See, Abe--Abe's gonna be all right. But you, my friend--[Laughs] Never mind not seeing the outside of a prison. You will not be seeing the outside of solitary confinement for a very, very long time.
Clyde: Don't you count on it.
Rafe: Clyde's phone's on its way to john and Steve.
Hope: Good. They need to move though, before it gets out that we've got Clyde. Also, I shut down all the local news outlets. Everyone on duty knows.
Rafe: Oh, good. And when exactly does john want backup?
Hope: He said he'll call.
Rafe: Well, I do not like waiting.
Hope: No, neither do I, but I think we have to wait.
Rafe: Okay. In that case, do you want to tell me what's going on with you and Aiden?
Hope: Oh, my God, seriously? Right now?
Rafe: Yeah, seriously--
Rafe: I saw the way that he was talking to you. He is leaning on you, and he's not gonna stop until he gets what he wants.
Hope: You know what? You need to back off. You want to help me, Rafe? You need to step back, because every time you get in his face, you make it worse. You make it worse for me. Just stop it. Please. Just let me handle him. Let me do it.
Steve: That's Weston's phone?
John: Yep. Rafe's already processed it, dusted for prints, downloaded everything they could pull off it.
Steve: Can we use it?
John: For one call. Then it's got to go back with our affidavit--you know, chain of custody, blah, blah, blah.
Steve: Have you heard anything more from the DiMeras?
John: No more than you have.
Steve: I haven't been able to reach Adrienne.
John: I'm sure she's fine, Steve. She was with Lucas. Everything went smooth.
Steve: I never wanted her in the middle of this.
Marlena: You know, but it-- it really made it look more convincing. Clyde's no fool. It has to look real.
Steve: At least now we can focus on Orpheus. So, come on. What are we gonna do? Call him?
John: That's the plan. Let's see what we got. Two numbers. Let's try the first one.
Orpheus: Weston, where the hell are you?
John: Clyde can't make it tonight. He's got a previous engagement.
Orpheus: What's that?
John: 25 to life, disregarding current charges.
Orpheus: I got the message.
John: No, I don't think you did.
Orpheus: I'm not turning myself in.
John: Of course, you're not. Look, pal. I'm the one that you want, so why don't you leave the town out of this? You can have me. You can have the money. Just let's knock off all the bloodshed.
Orpheus: Well, that is so noble.
John: That's the offer. You've got five seconds. Take it or leave it.
Orpheus: Meet me at pier 28. Alone.
John: 20 minutes.
Steve: Got him.
John: Took the bait. We're on.
Steve: Let's book. I'll be outside.
John: Yeah. Um, doc, I don't--I don't know how long this is gonna take, here, so I'll tell you--
John: I will be home in time for dinner.
Marlena: I'm gonna hold you to that. Look, we've been through so much and we've come so far. I can't lose you to this craziness.
John: Won't happen. Hey. Our family, our friends-- everybody has stepped up to make this work. These guys are toast. We're gonna get them.
Marlena: I love you.
John: Prove it. Keep my dinner warm.
[Marlena sniffles and cries]
Chad: A lot of excitement around here today, huh, buddy?
Gabi: Hey. Got you a fresh shirt.
Chad: Hey. Yeah, thank you.
Gabi: No more blood.
Chad: No? My stylist doesn't approve of the blood-spattered look?
Gabi: No, it's not a good look.
Chad: No? All right.
Gabi: Over at the yard at the prison, it'd be a hit, and nobody would mess with you, but I don't think it's a good look for the boardroom.
Chad: Yeah, at DiMera, I bet I'd win every vote.
Gabi: [Laughs] Yeah, the old-fashioned DiMera way.
Chad: Yeah. How's--how's Ari?
Gabi: She's good. She thinks it's a party. All her friends from her preschool are there, so... you know what? I actually think I'm done, so I'm gonna head out. Let me grab this.
Chad: No--what are you doing? You can't--you can't leave.
Chad: We don't have any clue where Xander or Orpheus are, and now that Clyde's in custody, there's no telling what they're gonna do, so you can't-- you can't--Ari's safe. No--you got to stay here, where you're gonna be safe.
Gabi: Thank you, but that's not your job to--
Chad: Okay, that's great. Then call your boyfriend. 50 bucks says he tells you to stay here where you're safe. And he hates this house.
Gabi: 50 bucks?
Chad: 50 bucks.
Gabi: All right, let me see the cash.
Gabi: [Laughs] Okay. Hm. Let's see.
Gabi: Hey, JJ. Yeah, no, I'm still over at the DiMera house, but--no, I was gonna head out right now. Chad thinks that it's a little dark for me to be out on the streets, and that, you know, there's convicts out there, so-- I told him I'm fine. Okay. Yeah, okay. [Laughs] Talk to--yeah, just call me when you're free. Okay, bye.
Chad: [Inhales deeply] Oh, I hate to take your money.
Gabi: Yeah, but yet you still do.
Chad: André brought some champagne. It's vintage. So why don't... I pour you a glass, and you can relax.
Gabi: That sounds good. What a day.
Chad: At least it ended well.
Gabi: Thank you.
Chad: What the hell was that?
Hope: Rafe, check the scanner. Someone will call it in.
Rafe: Yeah, I'll send a unit to--
Steve: Did you get a read?
John: That direction. Couldn't make the second one. Too many echoes.
Steve: Maybe east. It's got to be Orpheus. Bombs are his thing.
Marlena: What in the world?
Kayla: No--this way. Let's go to the back. Come on, come on, come on.
